Chapter Fifty-three: Settling things, part two

Nuvema Town, Unova was surprised to see it when The Big Beauty came flying on in and landed near Professor Juniper's lab. After the drawbridge shot out and connected to the ground, an away team consisting of the reborn trainers plus Lucas, Barry, James, Meowth, and Jessie all got off. "So why are we here in Nuvema Town?" Lucas asked.

"This is where Bianca lives," Dawn explained.

With a wry, mildly curious look on his face, Barry asked, "Wait, Bianca actually avoided jail time?! But she was the second in command of Team Heart! She's bound to have some punishment coming! Why the hell ain't she in jail?"

"Well for starters, Bianca isn't old enough," Dawn began as she listed reasons off of the tips of her fingers, "In most regions, with Unova being one of them, one has to be a minimum of eighteen years old in order to serve time in jail. Bianca is only fifteen to sixteen. Second, even IF Bianca were old enough to serve time in jail, she couldn't. Not here in Unova, at least."

"Why is that, Captain?" Meowth asked.

Shrugging, Dawn replied, "Long story short, she's too fat. The cells in jails here in Unova aren't big enough to accommodate a person of Bianca's girth. So instead, Bianca was sentenced to a very lengthy house arrest and probation period. It helps that she DID provide info that helped with the dismantling of Team Heart."

"I still can't believe that Lady Bianca would turn on Team Heart like that," Jessie remarked.

Arching a wry eyebrow, James said, "Jessie, Bianca isn't your superior anymore."

Briskly shaking her head, Jessie said, "Sorry. Old habits."

"Here's the thing, though," Trip said, "Remember how Bianca was taken out of commission due to being shot? Well as it turned out, it was actually Yvonne who had ordered that hit on Bianca. We got evidence to prove it."

Jessie looked shocked, as if she had just been told and unbelievable tale. "...That's... no way..." said Jessie, the look of shock on her face unable to be hidden.

"We later learned that Yvonne ordered the hit on Bianca because of Bianca's decision to pursue Eric's Company via the invasion of Sinnoh," Kenny explained, "Of course, as we all know, not only did Team Heart's invasion of Sinnoh fail, but it ultimately ended up being the turning point in the world's struggles against Team Heart. Many experts think that if it weren't for the invasion of Sinnoh even happening in the first place, then Team Heart would still be a thing."

"So Lady Bian- ...sorry," Jessie said, catching herself midsentence, "So Bianca's decision to pursue those jerks who kept giving Team Heart the slip is arguably the reason why the Team Heart Empire ended up falling."

"That's one way to look at it," Dawn replied, "Anyway, we need to stop off to see Professor Juniper first. After that, we're headed to where Bianca is staying."

Looking curious, Trip asked, "She's not living at home with her family?"

Gently shaking her head, Dawn said, "No. Bianca is currently living with the family of her boyfriend Hilbert. Bianca... can't exactly stand her father right now." The rest of the away team all nodded in understanding before following Dawn into the Juniper lab to see Professor Juniper.

"So you aim to bring about the discrimination free world that Team Heart wanted," Juniper said to the away team when they met with her in her lab, "But without using Team Heart methods."

Dawn nodded in the affirmative. "Yes, ma'am," Dawn replied, "We've lit a spark in Alola that's seeing that goal achieved there. But only that will do so much. We need to preach the word in other regions in the world."

"And you figured that you'd continue in Unova," Juniper said, "Which during the time of the Team Heart Empire was the seat of the Empire. You know, the mansion home Bianca had while she was doing her work in Team Heart actually has a lot of bidders for it now, mainly due to what historical value it's got."

Gesturing to Juniper, Lucas asked, "So what do you think? Is it possible to get people in Unova on board with the idea of a discrimination free world without having to use Team Heart style methods in order to achieve it?"

Letting out a breath, Juniper replied, "I'm gonna level with you. A lot of the Unovan citizenry will actually be wholly on board with that idea. The anti-discrimination laws that were in place while the Team Heart Empire was still around had resulted in a sharp increase in marginalized peoples living here in Unova having a vastly improved quality of life."

Nodding in agreement, Dawn said, "That's actually good. Even with how evil it was, the Team Heart Empire still had some good to it. I can't deny that, I just want to do what they did without having to use their kind of methods."

Nodding once, Juniper said, "Indeed. However, some folks are not exactly going to be keen on the idea of a discrimination free world, not because they want to discriminate, but because they fear it'll see a return of the Team Heart Empire."

"...Well that's just silly," Mina spoke up, "I mean, we're specifying that we aren't going to be making use of Team Heart style methods. What more do we have to do to prove that we can bring about the noble part of Team Heart's goals without bringing back the ignoble part?"

Leaning back in her seat, Juniper said, "Why not see Yoshitsugu and Haruka? They're doing work here in Nuvema Town, mainly working as Bianca's parole officers. You may also wanna run by them your idea of bringing about a discrimination free world without having to make use Team Heart style methods. See what they think about it."

"We'll we're going to have to make it abundantly clear that we aren't gonna use Team Heart style methods in our goals," Trip replied, "But yeah, I guess we should run things by them."

Dawn sighed, worried how the meeting with Yoshitsugu and Haruka will go. Both of them were freedom fighter type rebels who were considered terrorists while the Team Heart Empire was still around. After things were settled, Yoshitsugu and Haruka both got full pardons from the governing system of the world, given they were part of Eric's Company.

Haruka was a bit... intense, but Yoshitsugu at least could be reasonable and gotten along with well enough. Dawn supposed a meeting with Yoshitsugu and Haruka was more or less going to happen, given that Juniper did say that they were serving as Bianca's parole officers. Hopefully they would permit Dawn and her group to actually see Bianca.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I got no problem with you guys seeing Bianca," Yoshitsugu said when Dawn and her away team met up with Yoshitsugu and Haruka later, "Although given how large your group is, I'm gonna have to ask that you let in only four persons max to see her."

"Why do you wanna see that evil girl anyway?" Haruka asked as she regarded the away team, a wry eyebrow arched in piqued curiosity.

"We wanna get her perspective on a few things," Dawn explained, "Including what she thinks of our plan to bring about a discrimination free world without the use of Team Heart style methods."

Snorting back a laugh, Haruka remarked, "Oh, that is rich. Getting rid of discrimination without using the foul methods of those tyrants. Good luck with that."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, Haruka," Yoshitsugu remarked, "I've actually heard word out of the Alola region that such a thing is starting to develop there locally."

"And we're the ones who sparked that fire of no discrimination in Alola," Kenny said, "We're wanting to do the same in the other regions of the world, and Unova here is our next stop."

"But do you really think that you guys can factually bring about Team Heart's goal without using Team Heart's methods?" Haruka asked, "I mean really. As impressive as it is that you've actually got a little bit of success so far in Alola at least, not everyone is going to be on board with the idea of a world where no-one discriminates against anyone else. There's going to be some people who will be wanting to always be able to look down on and be dicks to others. Why else do you people think I'm happy my parents are dead?"

"I actually have a couple of non-violent ideas to deal with such persons," Dawn replied, admittedly a little bit put off by Haruka admitting that her (Haruka's) parents being dead is something that she is actually happy about, "Trust me."

Haruka arched a wry eyebrow at Dawn. "...Really," Haruka said, sounding like she didn't believe it, "You have a few ideas on dealing with such persons without using any of the kinds of methods that Team Heart while it was a thing had used to do the same."

"Oh, you'd be very surprised," Dawn remarked, further piquing Haruka's interest.

Shrugging, Haruka replied, "Alright, I'll play along for now. Anyway, you all ought to go see her royal fatness now and discuss things with her."

"That one bit just now," Mina said, "Admittedly, that's a little fatphobic, insulting Bianca in a way that makes fun of her weight."

Giving Mina a dry look, Haruka shot back, "I'm still bitter towards her over what all she did while she was the face of an iron fisted tyrannical dictatorship that at its peak ruled over half of the world. So forgive me if I indulge in a little bit of payback against her."

Shrugging, Mina said, "I'm just saying, your attitude towards Bianca just now makes you no better than the discriminatory jerks we're aiming to deal with." Haruka had a hint of surprise enter the look in her eyes as she realized what Mina was getting at. That bit of food for thought gave her reason to take pause, making her reflect upon things as she and Yoshitsugu led Dawn and her away team to where Bianca was staying in Nuvema Town.

When Dawn and her away team got to where Bianca was staying, the heroes noticed that there were no signs that people had tried to vandalize the house, or similarly try to score any sort of petty bits of revenge against Bianca. Given what Bianca was during the time of the Team Heart Empire, the reborn trainers had figured that at least someone would have tried to do something, anything at all, to get back at who was the public face ruler of the Team Heart Empire.

"Yeah, no one actually knows that Bianca is living here," Yoshitsugu explained, "We're wanting to keep it that way. The government of Unova wants to keep it so that no-one knows where Bianca lives at so as to prevent violent vigilante justice. It won't make Unova look good on the inter-regional scene, at least according to some experts on the matter."

"If anyone asks, we're visiting here to get testimony related to an assault case we're investigating," Dawn said, getting everyone to nod in agreement with Dawn's cover story. Dawn took note of how all of the windows are closed, all of the blinds and curtains are drawn shut so that no-one can see into a window to see what's going on inside at all. Smart move, no-one will be able to tell that Bianca is inside without actually going into the house, which the residents can control to an extent.

Due to how space inside would be limited, only the reborn trainers went inside. Jessie went inside as well, as per Dawn's word due to Dawn not exactly trusting Jessie to keep her mouth shut if she's left outside and someone comes by to ask what's going on. Yoshitsugu also went inside as well, as he is serving as a parole officer for Bianca.

The reborn trainers were going to finally meet the girl who was the public face ruler of the Team Heart Empire.

...

Bianca was still as large of a girl as she was while the Team Heart Empire was still active, only now she wore a long sleeved variant of her outfit from the original Black and White games from the previous lives of the reborn trainers. Bianca also still wore her glasses. Surprisingly enough, Bianca was in the company of Rosa, the female player character from the Black2 and White2 games back in the previous lives of the reborn trainers.

Bianca gave the reborn trainers a scowling, pouty look. "...So, come to gloat, huh?" Bianca said, "Come to rub it in my face that you guys had defeated the Team Heart Empire and saved the world from the effort that was closest to truly bringing about a world free of discrimination."

"That's actually partly why we're here to see you," Trip said, "We're actually aiming to bring about a discrimination free world without using Team Heart style methods."

Snorting back a laugh, Bianca said, "Ha! Like that will ever happen! Lemme let you guys in on a little secret; people cannot help but be jerks if they have the freedom to do so. People won't act properly unless they're being made to act properly. Plain and simple."

"Not necessarily true," Kenny said, "We've actually seen some success in the Alola region in getting the people to not be discriminatory jerks. And we also had to change peoples' minds about a couple of local traditions in the process. A peaceful, non-tyrannical method of achieving a world free from discrimination is showing to be something that's actually doable."

"Are you sure about that?" Rosa asked, "I mean, the people of Unova had violently demanded to learn where Big Sis here is living, given that the people know she's was able to avoid any jail time due to being too big for it. The Unovan government had to lie and say she's serving her house arrest sentence at some house in Opelucid City. A whole entire set-up had been done up to actually make it look believable. There's been reports of vandalism against the set-up in question."

"It sounds to me more like the people actually want revenge against Bianca for her part in running the Team Heart Empire," Dawn remarked, "Rather than wanting to discriminate against her for how she's big boned."

"Also," Mina began as she regarded Rosa with a curious look, "Big Sis?"

"Oh, I've been romantically involved with Rosa's older brother Hilbert for quite some time actually," Bianca explained, "I've developed something of a big sister little sister relationship with Rosa as a result. She's actually rather sweet, really."

Jessie folded her arms over her chest. "Yeah, I do remember Admin Hanae mentioning something about some young girl that you were being something of a mentor towards." Jessie gestured to Rosa while saying to Bianca, "I'm guessing that this girl here is the girl in question."

Bianca nodded once in the affirmative. "So I'm guessing that you got some sort of similar deal as to what I got to avoid jail time," Bianca said to Jessie.

"Yeah, I was able to avoid any jail time thanks to James and Meowth vouching for me," Jessie said, "I mean hey." Giving a shrug, Jessie added, "It got me out of having to go to jail."

Nodding once, Bianca remarked, "Yeah, and my weight got me out of having to do jail time." A look of troubled concern appeared across Bianca's round, plump face. "...I still can't believe that I had been shot because the boss had secretly ordered a hit on me," Bianca said, looking troubled.

"Yeah, it had to do with Team Heart's failed invasion of Sinnoh," Dawn said, "Which in turn resulted in not only the Team Heart Empire eventually going down, but it also revealed who the boss really was to the world at large."

Bianca looked troubled still. "Yes, that Yvonne professor woman from Kalos," Bianca said, "I heard of it in the news. How exactly was she revealed?"

"The late Kalosian gym leader, Olympia," Trip began, "She was a psychic type Pokémon user, and also had some psychic powers of her own. She was able to use said powers to sus out who Yvonne was. We have reason to believe that the reason why Yvonne wasn't sussed out before that was due to how Yvonne was the professor who managed Kalos Champion Serena's extra Pokémon for her, including all of the various legendary Pokémon that Serena owns."

"Their legend swagger had generated some sort of mystical cloak or whatever," Kenny said, "And that cloak protects those under it from being sussed out or otherwise messed with in any way by psychic powers. It also helps out that at least one of Serena's legendary Pokémon is at least part psychic type, so that strengthens the protection."

"We're guessing that after I defeated Serena during Team Heart's failed invasion of Sinnoh," Dawn began, "The protection had weakened enough for Olympia to sus out who Yvonne really is, which in turn allowed for the good people of the world to finally strike back decisively against Team Heart."

Giving the heroes a wry look, Bianca said, "I wonder how things would have played out if I hadn't ordered for the invasion of Sinnoh. At least as soon as I did. I bet that things would have turned out vastly different if I wasn't so hasty in capturing Yoshitsugu and his fellows."

"Yeah, it's not like you ever had a chance of getting me," Yoshitsugu remarked, sounding just a hit smug and cocky about it.

Scowling right at Yoshitsugu, Bianca said, "The reason why I wanted you captured so much was due to the fact that you attacked and nearly killed my dad. And you're walking free in the end whereas I am stuck here, hiding away from people who would seek petty vengeance against me. How, I ask you, is any of that justice?"

Yoshitsugu was about to speak up, but was cut off when Dawn spoke up, "In all fairness, Bianca does have a point. You had not only attacked her dad, but got away with it scot free due to how you got a blanket pardon that freed you from responsibility for what all crimes and standing offences that you had against you. Also, while we're on the subject, why did you attack Bianca's dad?"

"I wanted to attack Bianca herself," Yoshitsugu began to explain, "And I had a clear shot at her, up until that man got in my way. It it weren't for that, my blade would have landed true."

Bianca went a bit wide eyes with realization. "My dad... got hurt trying to save me..." Bianca said, the look of surprise on her face undeniable.

"You wanted to attack Bianca directly," Mina said to Yoshitsugu, "With a sword."

Shrugging, Yoshitsugu said, "What would you have me do? Directly attack her with my Gallade or Sceptile or Aegislash? Keep in mind, while the Team Heart Empire was still active, I was a rebel type freedom fighter who was fighting against an oppressive tyrannical dictatorship kind of empire. Guys in that position are willing to whatever it takes to fight back against that kind of regime."

Arching a wry eyebrow at Yoshitsugu, Trip said, "Well that's all well and good, but did you have to sound all smug and cocky when you were bragging to Bianca about how you were able to avoid her reach the entire time you were on the run from her? Regardless of the fact that she was the public face ruler of the empire, she just wanted to get back at you because you hurt her dad. And now you just came off as bragging about having totally gotten away with it."

Yoshitsugu, to his credit, had a look of realization on his face as he considered what Trip had just told him. "Oooh, yeah I need to avoid sounding like a bragging jerk," Yoshitsugu remarked, "Thanks for pointing that out to me."

Clapping her hands together, Mina said, "Well alright! I say we go see the other persons here in the Unova region we're aiming to see."

"Oh yeah!" Kenny remarked, "We still gotta go see Kieran and his douchebag older sister Carmine!"

Bianca arched a wry eyebrow. "...Oh yeah, Ogrepon's trainer," Bianca remarked, "Well whatever it is that you guys have planned with him, good luck." The reborn trainers nodded once each in thanks before leaving the house with Yoshitsugu. After they closed the door behind them, they and all of the persons waiting outside took their leave.

As Yoshitsugu and Haruka led the away team from where Bianca was staying, Lucas spoke up that some people came by to ask what so many persons were doing waiting outside of that house. "We told them that we were visiting a family we personally knew who was victimized by the now defunct Team Heart Empire," Haruka said, "And we were extending apologies to them for a loss that they've suffered. Not everyone in our group was able to fit in the house, though."

"Well so long as no-one knows that Bianca lives there," Yoshitsugu remarked.

Later on in Driftveil City, the reborn trainers plus Lucas, Barry, James, Meowth, and Jessie were all at the local Pokémon Trainer school. Despite the stigma that surrounded her leaving the school, not only was Carmine a student at the school again, but she was hailed as a lauded hero. "Feh, no doubt it's because she got credit that she doesn't deserve," Kenny scowled, already unamused with how the older sister of Kieran is avoiding karma.

"Well, we ought to go see how the two siblings are doing," Mina said, a hint in her voice sounding like she was saying 'might as well get this over with'. Together, the away team made their way into the trainer school in Driftveil City, prepared for the worst of Carmine's ego.

...

"Yeah, the wealthy elite of Paldea had been far too damaged by Team Heart's ravaging of them," said Drayton as he and some of his peers met up with the away team later, "Blueberry Academy has got zero chance of coming back. Hell, the trainer school on mainland Paldea is barely able to stick around, and I hear they're making some serious cuts just to stay afloat."

Gesturing to Drayton, Dawn asked, "How has Carmine been ever since she came back to school here in Driftveil City?"

"Oh, she's been basking in the attention she's getting due to being recognized by the inter-regional community as a world hero for her actions against the Team Heart Empire back when it was still an active thing," Drayton replied, "It's gotten on the nerves of me, Crispin, and especially Kieran. Both of the girls keep quiet on the matter, though it's more out of wanting to let Carmine have her moment in the spotlight."

Kenny gave Drayton a wry look. "...Is it a moment that you think Carmine deserves?"

"Pfft, hell no," Drayton replied, chuckling a bit, "The only bit I approved of regarding Carmine in recent events was when she was going full unbearable older sister on Kieran, and Ogrepon attacked her to get her to back away from Kieran. Heh heh, Kieran's Pokémon have some very good instincts there, rising to their trainer's defense like that."

"How is Kieran doing, by the way?" Kenny asked.

"He's been doing alright," Drayton replied, "The only thing about Kieran that's changed is the fact that Carmine can no longer bully him and push him around as she used to, but I think that many of us are of the opinion that such a change is actually a good thing. Carmine... isn't exactly comfortable with the idea of not being able to push her little brother around. She's made that rather clear, if not via her words then via her actions."

"Where can we find Kieran and the bitch?" Mina asked.

Drayton snorted back a laugh, he found Mina's jab at Carmine just now to be rather funny. "The both of them ought to be at the club room right now," Drayton replied, "You want I should take you all over to see them?"

"Why else would we ask?" Trip replied, right before Drayton nodded in understanding of the point and proceeded to lead Dawn's group over to see Kieran and the bitch.

...

The away team from The Big Beauty arrived in the club room and saw that a number of students were in there, including both Kieran and his sister Carmine, who had a big ol' cloth patch bandage over her nose. The moment that he saw Carmine's injury, Kenny burst out laughing hysterically while pointing right at Carmine. "Hey! It's not funny that one of Kieran's Pokémon had ruined my beautiful and flawless face by breaking my nose!" Carmine snapped.

"Well maybe Ogrepon wouldn't have attacked you if you didn't try to bully and push me around like you've always liked to do!" Kieran scowled. Ogrepon, who was out and standing somewhat behind Kieran, growled angrily at Carmine.

Arching a wry eyebrow at Carmine, Dawn dryly asked, "How are you doing, Carmine? Aside from the obvious, of course."

"My welcome back to school here wasn't as warm as I would have liked," Carmine complained, "I mean, come on! I'm recognized world wide as a hero who stuck it to, and helped to eventually bring down, the Team Heart Empire! And yet most people here at school, staff and students alike, still see me like I'm bearing some manner of foul mark!"

"Given how you left school the first time you were here, can you really blame anyone?" Kieran asked, "It doesn't matter that the pardon you got has cleared you legally of all of your prior wrongdoings. The people are STILL upset with you."

"But I'm cleared of everything bad I did!" Carmine said, "Everyone should like me now!"

"The governments of the world cleared you, not the people here that you have wronged," Kieran said. Carmine still didn't get it, so Kieran dryly rolled his eyes at his impossible older sister. Turning to look at the away team, Kieran asked, "So now, Kenny and friends. What brings all of you by here to the trainer school?"

"We wanna see what you think of our Zero Discrimination Plan," Kenny began.

Looking mildly confused, Kieran replied, "Huh?"

Gently shaking her head, Dawn clarified, "We're planning to bring about a discrimination free world without having to use Team Heart style methods. Team Heart's goal of eliminating discrimination is, on paper, actually a good and noble goal. It's just that Team Heart had gone about trying to bring it about in totally the wrong way. My crew and I think that we can do what Team Heart was trying to do there, but do it in the right way."

Kieran arched a wry eyebrow. "...Actually, yeah," Kieran said, "A good number of people here in the Unova region actually benefited from how various forms of discrimination, while Team Heart was the ruling power here, was outright outlawed. One such form of discrimination that was barred this way was ableism, and that being outlawed benefited me."

Look curious, Mina said, "You benefited from ableism being outlawed while Team Heart ruled in the Unova region?"

Kieran gave an affirmative nod. "Yeah. I have Apserger's Syndrome, which puts me on the autism spectrum. I... had received some flack from my fellow students for technically being special needs. I had also received a LOT of flack from my older sister for it as well. While Team Heart was the ruling power here in Unova, students who gave me flack for being special needs were forced to stop and leave me alone about it."

"Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute," Kenny said. Turning to look at Carmine, Kenny said with a VERY CLEARLY pissed off look on his face, "Your little brother is special needs and you give him flack for it?! Carmine, what in the name of Artemis is wrong with you?!"

Stomping a foot in frustration, Carmine pointed an accusing finger at Kieran and snapped, "Our grandparents are nicer to him than they are to me! They let him off for acting up while always being on my case! It's not fair!"

"Well Kieran has a legit excuse," Kenny shot back, "Plus he doesn't act out badly enough, plus you have been known to bully him to the point his Pokémon attack you, without prompting from Kieran, in retaliation for bullying their trainer! Face it, Carmine, you have issues that need to be addressed!"

"A psychologist would have a field day going over what all this girl here has," Meowth remarked as he arched a wry eyebrow at Carmine.

After things were settled down, Carmine said, "So, you guys want to do what Team Heart tried to do, but without using the methods that Team Heart was using." Scoffing, Carmine said, "You all do know that such a plan is impossible, right?"

Gently shaking his head, James said, "Actually, Captain Twerp and the rest of us have seen some success already, over in the Alola region. We're now trying our luck here in Unova."

Carmine looked mildly disbelieving at what James had said. "Pfft, yeah right," Carmine said, "Like it's possible for people to willingly give up getting to put down and lord over others."

"You speak from personal experience as a person who likes to put down and lord over others, huh?" Kenny asked, "I'm certain that your brother can provide testimony to verify that assessment."

Carmine looked pissed, especially when Kieran nodded in confirmation to what Kenny said. "People like to be better than others," Carmine reiterated, "It's human nature. It's part of why a lot of folks didn't like the Team Heart Regime, its rule forced everyone to not be allowed to put others down and lord over them."

"So you're saying that humans like to be able to bully others," Dawn said, "Then what about those who are the victims of said bullying? What do they get?"

Carmine looked like she had been caught in a trap. Scoffing a bit, Carmine said, "Hey! Don't trap me in my own words!"

"Carmine, we have seen success in our goals over in Alola," Dawn pointed out again, "I'm pretty sure that we can see the same here in Unova."

"For what it's worth, I hope that you succeed," Kieran said. The away team nodded in thanks before they took off. They had a few more people to see while they were still in the Unova region, so they had to get cracking on it.

Later, The Big Beauty was in Opelucid City, where the usual away team was able to meet with Nate, the Champion of Unova. He had been returned to the region after he was defeated and captured in Sinnoh when he had been sent there by the Team Heart Empire during the attempted invasion of Sinnoh which ended in failure ultimately, and soon led to the defeat and wholesale take down of the empire. However, the away team had found Nate in company he wasn't exactly thrilled with.

Their friend Iris, who clearly looked steamed. Cilan was also there too, oddly enough.

"Yeah, Iris tried challenging me for my title and lost," Nate explained to the away team, "I'm still the Champion of Unova."

Turning to look at Iris, Mina asked, "And how are you doing, Iris?"

"Annoyed that I still haven't been able to defeat Nate and take his title," Iris said, "I mean, come on! How could he let himself get captured the way that he did?! Do you know how embarrassing that is for the Unova region?"

"In Nate's defense," Trip began, "He as well as the other foreign region Champions who were sent to Sinnoh had to deal with me, Dawn, and Kenny. And you know what kind of Pokémon we have."

"Do you think you would have fared any better, Iris?" Kenny asked, "Especially given that the lads and I have legendary dragon Pokémon including Reshiram, Zekrom, and Kyurem?"

"Also, don't forget that the invasion was done at the word of Team Heart," Mina pointed out, "It's not like Nate had a choice."

Iris looked like she wanted to argue, but Dawn cut her off. "You wanna become Champion of Unova so you can let Skyla off the hook for shirking her gym leader duties with those mental gymnastics gym battle system of hers so she had more time for her personal hobby, don't you?" Dawn asked.

"...Yes," Iris answered weakly, "I mean, she just wanted to have more time for fun, you know. She had been caught up in her job so much she had no free time."

"But it's still a job," Cilan said, his expression firm, "And and important, serious one at that. Shirking her duties the way that she did will bring Skyla trouble no matter what. If Skyla wanted to make free time for herself, then she should have set up something different that respected the rules. Besides, Champion Nate had been very lenient about it, he's still letting Skyla stay on as a gym leader."

"But he still had her punished!" Iris complained.

"Because she had acted wholly unprofessionally," Nate said, "And yet you would have her let off the hook wholly for her shirking of her responsibilities. That just proves that you'd be exceedingly unfit to be the Champion of Unova."

Seeing that Iris was trapped in the argument, Dawn decided to proceed with why she had actually sought out Nate. "Anyway, my crew and I are now going about trying to bring about a discrimination free world without having to use Team Heart style methods," Dawn began, "You know, doing things the nice and peaceful way. What do you think?"

"That's a very tall order to fulfill, I won't lie," Nate remarked, "But if you're able to do it, then that'd be even more impressive than you and your fellows having taken down the Team Heart Empire."

"They've seen some success over in Alola already," Meowth pointed out.

Nate, as well as Iris and Cilan, both looked surprised. "Really now," Cilan remarked, "Well that's pretty good, you guys. If you try to do that here in Unova, I'll back you."

Nate nodded once in agreement. "Same here."

Turning to look at Iris, Kenny said, "And you..."

"...I'll do it, but I'm still mad that Skyla had been punished solely because she wanted more free time to have fun," Iris remarked.

It seemed that it was a subject that Iris would never be swayed on no matter what, and the reborn trainers and their crew didn't have time to argue with the stubborn little kid that is Iris. So they let it go for the time being.

Thus the reborn trainers, backed by the rest of the crew of The Big Beauty, as well as some friends they had in the Unova region, began to preach the word of peacefully bringing about a world free of discrimination, and bringing said world about without the use of Team Heart style methods. The idea of such a world, brought about by peaceful methods rather than how Team Heart had done it, began catching on quite well in Unova actually.

It helped that Unova's plus-sized population got behind the idea. Unova is known as the most fat accepting region in the world (probably because Unova is also the region with the highest rate of overweight and obese citizens in the world), so already they're naturally against fatphobia, one of the various forms of discrimination that Team Heart outlawed and banished via their iron fisted and tyrannical means of rule.

But Dawn and the others are now arguing against fatphobia and the other forms of discrimination in a peaceful, non tyrannical way. There were a good number of people in Unova who actually liked how discrimination was outlawed in Unova while Team Heart ruled, so seeing the banishing of discrimination return but with different and non-bad guy methods was something that a lot of folks were already getting behind.

Dawn and her crew, however, weren't able to see Wolfgang and the other Unova Team Heart Officers due to how they were in max security prison. It also surprised Dawn that the arrangement had been made more for the safety and security of the Unova Team Heart Officers, similar to how Bianca's location was being kept strictly secret. It seemed that Unova also had a percentage of its citizenry who'd seek petty vengeance where and when possible.

With the ball having been started with rolling in Unova, the job there for Dawn and company was done for now. "Where to next?" Kenny asked as he and the other reborn trainers were alone in the meeting room on board of The Big Beauty as it flew out of Unova.

"We're gonna hit up Kalos next," Dawn explained, "They're gonna be one of the toughest regions to convince to get on board with the idea we're trying to sell. Being incredibly fatphobic aside, the Kalos region also has issues with other kinds of discrimination, mainly the nobility sneering down at the common folk."

"I think that the nobility of Kalos was heavily damaged during Team Heart's rule of Kalos," Mina said, "Similar to what happened in Paldea with the Paldean wealthy elite."

Shrugging, Dawn went on, "Well Kalos will still be a tough one either way. Luckily we can count on Serena to help us out."

"Oh yeah, we need to check up on her because of how that Yvonne lady turned out to be the true Boss of Team Heart," Kenny said. Yes, there was still how people in Kalos were reeling from the revelation of the truth that Yvonne was the true Boss of Team Heart. Serena was among the many shocked and surprised by that reveal, although there were others who the reborn trainers also had to check up on.

Hopefully it won't be too bad.

END, CHAPTER FIFTY-THREE

Author's notes;

This chapter covers the reborn trainers and their crew going to the Unova region, which was where the heart of the Team Heart Empire was located before the empire was brought down. There in Unova, the heroes meet Bianca finally, and get a feel of how she feels about their plan to bring about a discrimination free world without having to use Team Heart style methods.

The heroes also run a few things by Nate, the Champion of Unova, as well as Iris and Cilan. Iris is still pissy that Skyla was punished for that battle simulation thingy she did in the Black and White anime because that really pissed me off and I wanna punch Skyla on the face for... wait, what was I talking about again? Oh yeah, Iris is being more of a little kid than what she claims Ash to be on the regular basis.

Anyway, the reborn trainers' next stop will see them head on over to Kalos, where it'll be hard to sell to the Kalosian people the idea of a discrimination free world, even with the caveat that it'll be brought about WITHOUT the use of Team Heart style methods, but Dawn and friends are planning to get Serena on their side to help them out. Until then, take care.
