Hello dear readers, I have an announcement.
If you have obligations, don't open microsoft edge, open the awesome fanfiction and use the text to speech to play it while you play binding of isacc. My brain has melted.
Also, this is not the reason this is late for a day, sorry, that's something else.

After Jaune and Ruby noticed that they were compleatly lost, they tried to go back to where they first started.

Unfortunately, today was not a great day for Jaune. His semblance does have negative aspects, like once in a while, he gets curses, and today he got one.

The Curse of the Maze

Day One, Beacon.

Items:

Crocea Mors (...)

Sharp Straw (...)

Lusty Blood (...)

Magic 8 Ball (...)

The Fool (Tarot Card...) (Used)

Curse:

Curse of The Maze ( You are now terrible at directions, and doors might take you to different places than they should. This curse doesn't affect others, but it makes you somehow always the guide of wherever you are. At least from my experiences. I could be very stupid.)

"Jaune, where are we?" Ruby looked more lost than before "And why are you still crying? It can't really be your semblance, right? That, does not make sense at all! You wouldn't just not gain anything from it, you'd lose! A lot! Why aren't you dying of dehidration?"

"It really is. Trust me, I don't want to be crying either." Jaune's semblance was weird. Shooting simple projectiles from his attacks. It used to be only from his eyes, but that was because it was the most efficient way to do it back then. Since he used to cry all the time, his semblance used those same tears as attacks, and that cause him to keep crying whenever he started. It was by instinct now, and it took around thirty minutes for it to finally stop. It used to be longer, but it got lower as he grew up.

He had some rolls remaining, so he might as well use them. Maybe he could use something to find his way.

"Eve's Mascara, no, I don't need it. Next." He muttered. The redhead besides him gave him a weird look.

"Humbleing Bundle? Doesn't really matter if I take it." Jaune took the item and tried again.

"What? Why didn't it work? No way I got a room without pedestal..." Jaune said out loud, looking for any changes to his body.

"Jaune! What are you doing!?" Ruby finally got Jaune to stop messing with his semblance.

"Oh, sorry if I ignored you. I was just, y'know, gambling. Normal things, now lets go through this door." The blonde pointed to the door of the man's bathroom.

"Huh!? I-I can't! I'm-" Jaune opened the door, and there it was, the auditorium.

"Oh, okay." Ruby went in and they were now at the place they wanted.

'That was really lucky. Nice. I mean, It's the closest open, unlocked door, but still.' He thought, entering the door.

"Ruby! Over here! I saved you a seat." A blonde girl called Ruby over.

"Wait a minute, that's the girl that I... Oh. Yeah, no, later Ruby." Jaune dissapeared in a puff of smoke.

Jaune knew better than to anger blonde ladies with red eyes. Last time he did that Jaune ended up stuck in a toy chest. "That... sounded funnier in my head." Jaune muttered, shaking away his thoughts.

'I'm supposed to be paying attention to this. Focus' Jaune looked to the presentation the headmaster of Beacon, Ozpin, was giving. He looked like a middle-aged man with silver hair and brown eyes, wearing a black suit over a green vest. He also carried a white cane with gears, and Jaune noticed he had a color theming of green and black.

Jaune didn't know why all these people seemed to have a color theming. Maybe he would figure it out eventually.

What are his colors? He uses white and yellow because they are the colors of the hand-me-down armor he got, but he still uses black and orange.

Right, the presentation! He had to pay attention to it.

...

Maybe it wouldn't hurt to check his scroll? It isn't like he had a quirky redhead to talk to anymore.

He would pay attention! It was just to see the hours. Yep.

Jaune was absolutelly lost. He hadn't heard even a tiny bit of Ozpin's speech, and now he had no idea on what he was supposed to do.

Maybe he should ask Ruby? Even though she's surrounded by two people who look very scary. And pretty. But scary.

"Uhm, hey, Ruby? Y'know where were supposed to go to?"

"Vomit Boy?" Jaune froze. The blonde girl recognized him immediatly.

"Pffthahaha!" And Ruby didn't help him at all.

"Er, so... Sorry about that? I didn't do it on purpose, but I get really sick when I fly. And my name is Jaune." He scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Yang wasn't going to get mad at the guy, he was so guilty he was crying! Or not, he was crying. A lot. And not making any sound that indicated it. "It's fine dude, don't worry about it. Why are you crying though?" The white haired girl had left, but Ruby and her sister(?) led him out following her for some reason.

"It's a semblance issue. It's gonna go away in a couple of minutes if I'm right."

"That, doens't make much sense. Why would you semblance make you cry?" She asked. "Oh, right, I'm Yang Xiao Long." and added.

"It's because I can do this." Jaune said, then looked to a tree, and blinked.

A tear left his eye, then it flew in the direction he looked at, growing in size until it hit the tree. It was slightly dented.

"But I don't do that from my eyes anymore. I can just swing my sword, and a tear appears when my slash is over." He explained. Jaune would bring out Crocea Mors to show, but he didn't want to scare anyone.

Ruby and Yang were amazed. Sure, it wasn't the greates semblance, but it was so unique. They never saw someone who could do something like Jaune did without a weapon.

"Huh. Explains why you don't have any ranged weapons, even one would be better." Ruby said, looking to his eyes curiously.

Also very close. His eyes compleatly normal, why was she staring at them?

"Well, it's not better because it's not in the best state it can be! I haven't gotten any items to help me today. The items are the other part of my semblance by the way." He added, saying it like the most simple thing.

"These aren't weapons..." Ruby glared into his eyes. Why wasn't she backing away yet?

"So, where are we going?" He asked.

"The ballroom. We're gonna spend the night together~" She teased. Jaune's only answer was to studder and blush.

They had to eventually split to get ready to sleep.

These people, they were the ones who he'll have to spend the next four years with.

Ruby and Yang were, er, nice. But he still had new people to meet.

And besides, he had barely talked to them. It isn't like Ruby would be only a lovable dork and Yang would be a tease.

If they were Jaune would probably have a heart attack. He can only handle so much teasing.

"Hey, can I sit here? I need a light." Jaune asked. This girl wasn't the only one who needed to do some reading.

She nodded, and not so subtlely looked at his onesie and held in laughter.

"Hey! This onesie is great." He said, sitting down and grabbing one of his notebooks.

"Sure it is."

"Oh, says the girl reading hardcore smut in public." He shot back, and the girl lit up in a blush.

"Wha, I... How do you even know this book!?" She hid her face behind her reading material.

"I had sisters who forced me to read it. They wanted another member in their book club." Jaune said. It wasn't the first, or the worst thing he had done because of his sisters, but he became kind of the maid of his house when his other mother died.

"Pfft. Did they make you wear this too?"

"No, I wear it because it's very comfortable, and my sister made it." The girl snorted, trying to keep in her laughter "It is a good onesie! If you wore it, you'd have the same opinion."

"But aren't onesies for kids?"

"Not as much as giant freaking bows are." The girl had the decency to look embarrassed, but she laughed a bit anyway.

"I'm Blake by the way."

"Jaune. Jaune Arc. Short, sweet, rolls... I forgot the rest." Jaune muttered the last parts. He unfortunatelly didn't have much time to spend with his dad, and hadn't got much advise from him.

Blake looked amused, and she might have tried to sneak a peek of the notebook he was reading.

She couldn't. But curiosity sure killed the cat. Poor Guppy.

"And what are you reading?"

He closed the notebook shut, "It's my semblance. Whenever it develops something new, it drops one of these papers." A paper popped into existence.

"What? That, that was not supposed to happen." Jaune snatched the paper out of the air. It red "Penance DLC unlocked"

"Oh, oh no that's not good." He muttered, but Blake was right besides him.

"What?" Another paper appeared.

"Okay, so, whenever my semblance evolves, it tells me like this." He held up the first paper.

"And then it gives me setting updates and patches of my old items." He held up the second paper.

"It says We apologize, the original program only ran in 4D, but now you can have a better experience in the 3D mode. Switch? Yes/No." She read out loud, confused.

"Huh? What do you mean 4D? Isn't that, like, time? How does my semblance affect time?" He circled the Yes option, and the paper turned to ash and vanished.

"I..." She rubbed her eyes. "I think I need to go to sleep. Good luck with that, and when you're done put the candle out." Blake left. She was going to deal with the insane stuff when Beacon actually started, and she had spent way too long without sleep to deal with this.

"Good night."

"Night." She left.

"..."

Another paper appeared.

Patch Notes.

Dead Bird no longer explodes.

Soul of Jaune still does nothing.

BOS pill sound effect no longer plays when you pick up Keeper's Sack.

Gulping a trinket can now do damage.

Fixxed Devil Deals for Jaune.

Bumbo no longer eats Ancient Recall.

Jaune's Notebooks do not activate "Bookworm tranformation" because they are trinkets.

"What the hell are devil deals?" Jaune puts the paper into it's notebook, and apparently they are trinkets?

What are trinkets?

A blue window opened in front of Jaune, It said TUTORIAL in the bottom.

On the ground a chibi version of him stood, there were some instructions.

# TO USE BOMBS

RED HEARTS ARE YOUR AURA, IT BREAKS ON HALF A HEART.

SOUL HEARTS ARE EXTRA AURA.

BLACK HEARTS ARE EXTRA AURA, BUT WITH A SPIKE EFFECT.

USE A BOMB TO OPEN SECRET ROOMS.

USE MONEY TO BUY ON SHOPS.

BREAK TINTED ROCKS AND POTS TO EARN THEIR DROPS.

Jaune absorbed the information, and then used his mind to make his chibi version move to the next room, a treasure room.

A single item stood in a pedestal.

"The Notched Axe? I don't need a pickaxe to fight right now." Jaune had used that item as a tool to kill Grimm twice now, and once to dig himself out of a weird place. He found the page containing the information on it.

"Can break any breakable obstacle in the room it is used? That's new. Not very good to be honest." He left the room, and then yawned.

Maybe it was better if he delt with this tomorrow. It wouldn't be the first time his semblance started acting weird, this was specially weird, but nothing he couldn't do while he would be resting after tomorrow's test, he needed to rest for it.

This grew quicker than I thought it would, thanks readers. I even got captured by the bots! That probably isn't that big of a deal tbh. I talked more in the ao3 notes, but here it adds words, and I'm not going to do that.

Thanks for all the support guys, next chapter's actually going to take a while, I kind of have been rushing it, and I need to make it better. Sorry, but what did you think? I don't write this for myself, I write it for whoever wants to read it, so I'd be nice to know what you think of it.
