The scene opens showing a somewhat run down dock, out of it comes a middle aged Caucasian man with black hair and a half shaved beard, wearing a dark blue suit and beige pants. This man smiled as he waved at the camera. "Yo, we're live in Muskoka, Ontario!" he spoke to the camera, "I'm your host, Chris McLean, and we're about to deliver you the hottest reality show ever right here at Camp Wawanakwa!".

The camera zoomed out from Chris to show more of the dock, and the camp which was located on a large island in this perspective. "This summer camp was abandoned a long time ago" Chris spoke as he walked on the dock, "So things have changed a lot since then, a very good location to have a competition..." he grabbed a coconut drink that was being held by someone on a tray and drank it, until he noticed it was empty, "Intern Owen, what did I tell you about having my snacks?"

The camera panned to the right to show the intern, a very fat guy with blonde hair, wearing an outfit similar to Chris's, only with reddish tones. "Sorry, Chris, I mean, boss," the intern said nervously, "I was just thirsty and all."

"Anyway..." the host rolled his eyes before looking back at the camera, "Like I said before, things have changed since people were out of this place, and by that I mean, things have gotten very, very dangerous..." Suddenly, a giant tentacle emerged from the water near the dock.

Owen giggled nervously and looked at the host, "Are you sure it's friendly?" he asked before the squid crushed him as well as a part of the dock.

"He'll be fine" Chris said unconcerned, "For now, let's get to the rules...". A transition was shown showing the camp and parts of the island, with rather old and rustic cabins, "A group of 27 naive teenagers will have to share their stinky underwear with others and have to endure the disgusting cooking of our famous Chef Hatched, as well as they will be able to secretly throw all their frustration into the confessional cabin; they will have to prove themselves as they participate in crazy challenges throughout the island, while each one will be thrown out in the Boat of Losers; the last contestant standing, will be the winner of... ONE... MILLION... DOLLARS... quite a lot of money, right?"

The camera cut back to Chris, this time with a somewhat sadistic smile, "But will they be strong enough to withstand everything that awaits them? I doubt it, but find out below, here on Total...Drama...Island!"

(Theme Song plays)

The scene returns to the dock and with Chris, "Welcome back to Total Drama Island! The most exciting and dramatic reality show to be aired on television, right now, the young people who have signed up will go to this summer camp to compete and even make various friendships, enmities or even fall in love..." a horn was heard, "And speaking of which, here we have the first competitor..."

The first boat dropped off at the dock a girl with dyed red hair and pigtails, and light skin, she was wearing a red dress with white polka dots that reached her waist, she was wearing black tights and yellow rain boots; this girl was also wearing light pink gloves which she was adjusting while looking at the island and then at the camera. "Hello..." she nervously waved at the camera recording her.

"Zoey, welcome to Camp Wawanawa," the host greeted the first arrival, "Are you excited?"

"Uh, yeah, I am!" she replied in a pleasant tone, "It'll be great to meet new friends...as long as I keep a safe distance," she walked with her luggage to the other end of the dock, able to pass as the part broken by the tentacle from earlier was being repaired by another intern, a guy wearing a green mohawk with pierced nose, "She won't last long..." he said as he watched her walk by when for some reason she pulled out a disinfectant spray and sprayed it on the parts she stepped on.

"Shush, Duncan," Chris said to the intern, before smiling at the camera again, "Now let's move on to the next contestant!". The other boat came to drop off a brown haired boy with glasses, he was wearing a black vest over a white and orange striped shirt, he also wore a green hat that barely covered his rather messy hair. The boy got off cautiously while looking in all directions.

"Welcome to the island, Shawn!" greeted the host.

"This island was abandoned, right?" asked Shawn somewhat worried, "I mean, I don't know how a cemetery smells, I just hope there isn't one, and hopefully not with too many people buried, we all know that leads to a level 10 catastrophe"

"The crazy nerd looks like he hasn't touched grass in a long time, huh?" Duncan commented mockingly as he left the dock after repairing it.

"Don't blame him so much" Zoey said, "I mean, the grass is full of dirty footprints that could have been stepped on anywhere"

"That's not what you have to worry about, girl" Shawn said as he approached her, "Zombies always emerge in a fairly open area, I've read it online, trust me!"

"Hey, keep your distance! No offense, but I don't think you've showered in a while"

"Of course I shower, just the bottom part, the rest of my body is scrubbed with wet wipes"

"Ewww!"

Just then, another boat came to drop off another contestant, this one was a girl with short dirty blonde hair and wearing glasses, she's wearing a warm gray t-shirt, the girl looked at the camp before addressing the host. "Muskoka Island was closed years ago, I'm surprised that you, McLean, have obtained the rights of possession being a simple host" she spoke in a half serious and bitter tone.

"What can I say? I have my tricks..." he winked suspiciously, "So, Jo, are you excited?"

"Pfft, no, the days will be longs as the ocean, so my excitement will be when I win this," she walked down the dock, "My IQ will be enough to beat these guys with the same age as me, and I can guess that the most naive ones signed up to participate in this for 'fun'..."

The next boat arrived, and dropped off another girl, beige skinned and with short black hair with a beret on top, wearing a purple shirt with a beige stripe below and a short black skirt. "Hello everyone, it will be a pleasure to be with you!" the girl greeted cheerfully.

"And my theory has been correct," said Jo mockingly, "The typical 'goody girl' trope went out of style a long time ago."

"Don't worry, I'm not that one-dimensional, in my drama class they teach us to take on different emotions, whether it's happy...angry...sad...conflictive..." she imitated those emotions that she said.

"Good luck with that, Sky," Chris told her, "I heard the camera only likes to capture 'interesting' people."

"Oh, I'm interesting, you'll see..." she told him before taking her luggage and joining the others. The next boat brought a very tall, dark-skinned girl with black hair in a ponytail, wearing a sleevless white t-shirt and short jeans, she walked quite excitedly down the dock, "G'day, mates, I'm Jasmine, nice to meet you!" she spoke with a rather thick accent.

"Hi, Jasmine, how's life outside Australia?"

"Well, I guess, although it will be interesting to act in a show outside the continent."

Sky gasped upon hearing this, "Are you a TV actress? My God, I'm in front of a real celebrity!" she jumped excitedly.

"Yes, only in her country though," Jo commented, "Your name has never been known to me and I don't care."

"You don't know me?" Jasmine asked incredulously, seeing the others' denials, she surprisingly smiled, "Ok, I guess we can start from scratch..." she happily walked towards them dragging her luggage.

The next boat brought this time a somewhat fat boy with curly brown hair wearing a blue cap, he was wearing a yellow t-shirt and carrying a large blue backpack on his back, and he was wearing large glasses that made his excitement shine as he looked around, "This place looks fantastic!" he said smiling at the island.

"Welcome, Sam, delighted by the view?" asked the host

"Of course, I've seen many places on a daily basis, but knowing that I'll be here all summer makes me excited for what this have"

"Oh, believe me, there's a lot to offer here..." Chris rubbed his hands mischievously as he watched him go along with the others. The next boat brought a dark-skinned boy with flat dark brown hair, he was wearing a blue buttoned t-shirt and long beige pants, the boy walked arrogantly along the dock.

"Hey everyone, I'm Rudolph Jackson," said the new arrival, "But everyone calls me 'Lightning', that's because every problem I see, whether it's academic or mental, I solve in a jiffy!"

"Wow, a competition to see who's the smartest here?" said Jo somewhat interested, "Too bad that position is occupied by someone, 'das bin ich', which in German means it's me!"

"Ha, that won't be enough to topple Lightning from his position!" he said arrogantly as he walked confidently, "I can see anything that crosses my path, and anything is anything..." he accidentally fell off the dock, splashing into the water.

"Except the edges of the docks..." Jo mocked.

The next boat brought another boy with dark skin and rugged gray hair, he wore a sea green shirt with a rather peculiar design and beige Hindu colors like his pants, he walked neutrally along the dock.

"Welcome to the island, Dave" greeted the host, "Are you excited to be here for the next five weeks?"

"I don't know, there's no point in asking that when I just got here" he said in a somewhat credulous manner, "I wonder what the people here will be like..."

"Hey, dude, it wasn't nice to humiliate Lightning like that" scolded the previous boy, already out of the water, totally directed at Jo

She frowned upon hearing him, "Uh, 'dude'?"

"Well, there goes my spark of waiting for sane people" said Dave already in an annoyed manner, "Competitive nerds are always very unpleasant"

"Who are you calling a nerd, monkey head?" Lightning addressed the boy rather angrily, but was stopped by Sky

"Come on, guys, it's our first meeting," she said to calm them down, "Why don't we forget this so we can interact better in the future?"

"Pfft, whatever!" said Lightning

"Whatever you say, Type A," said Dave a little sarcastically, earning a glare from the theater girl.

The next boat brought a redheaded girl with a pony tail, she was wearing a yellow tank top, dark green pants, and black sneakers, she walked down the dock just as neutral as the previous contestant.

"Welcome, Scarlett," greeted the host, "How's the island?"

"Uhh, not so bad" she said as she looked at the camp somewhat unsure, "I just want to know if there is a gym set up or at least a track so I can continue training outside the house"

"Too bad, the budget didn't have any money left for that"

"That's crap for all the athletes!" said another voice that came from another boy who also arrived, he was short and had pale skin, he was wearing a purple hoodie that matched his hair of the same color.

"Max, it wasn't your turn to introduce yourself yet!" Chris said somewhat annoyed.

"I was just answering my question about why there isn't any training equipment on this filthy island" he said rather bitterly

"First, I was the one who talked about it" Scarlett told him with a confused look, "And second and no offense, why would someone of your height need such heavy equipment?"

"Pfft, because I'm an athlete, just like you"

Lightning burst out laughing, "There's no way a dwarf like you could be on a sports team, not even table tennis"

"Hey, don't make fun of me!" he growled back at him, "You foolish know-it-alls, you think you're better when you don't know that when you least expect it I'll sweep you off your feet like a 10K race, you'll see..."

The next boat brought a girl with an orange tan and very big, fluffy black hair, wearing a pinkish red plaid shirt, shorsts, somewhat ripped denim shorts, and cowboy boots. "Hi, hi, sweetie!" she greeted with a slightly country accent.

"Hi Anne Maria, how's life away from the country side?"

"Well, I don't really love this rustic-looking island, but at least I can spend more time in the sun than in a stinky barn."

"Wow, for a farm girl your hair looks pretty good," Zoey said, somewhat amazed by the country girl's rather made-up and put-together appearance, "How do you do it?"

"Easy enough, darling," she pulled a can out of her luggage and began shaking it, "A little hairspray here and there..." she sprayed herself with the fixative, so much so that Zoey began to cough as she stood near her.

Then another boat dropped off a tanned boy with spiky black hair, wearing a sea green sweatshirt and some pants and sneakers, he walked happily down the dock, "Ayo, nice to meet you, Chris McLean!" he said as he bumped fists with him, "I saw you on that ice skating show at the Olympics, good job!"

"Thanks, Mike" Chris said, "I'm glad someone around here might know me from my previous roles"

As Mike approached the other competitors, he saw Zoey still coughing, "Hey, are you okay?" he asked worriedly, "Breathe in and out slowly." Zoey heeded his advice and breathed in and out until she cleared her throat.

"Thanks a lot! I owe you one..." she replied smilingly, "My name is Zoey"

"Mike, nice to meet you," they both shook hands, although well, Zoey had her glove on so they wouldn't have direct contact.

The next yacht brought a girl a little smaller than the others, she was pale skinned and blonde haired, she wore a long green dress, and she wore a necklace with the popular peace sign. The girl walked on her toes like a ballet dancer, loving the 'fresh' air of the island.

"Welcome, Dawn, excited?" asked Chris

"Excited? Much more than that!" said Dawn in a very positive tone, "It will be a pleasure to spend the next five weeks here with people to enjoy the wonderful space that mother earth has to offer"

"You know that this 'mother earth' thing is a superstitious thought?" said Jo incredulously

"Don't talk about someone's ideologies like that!" scolded Sky, "She might get mad?"

"Oh, don't worry, I don't get mad," Dawn said as she 'meditated' with her fingers, "I think pacifism is the best path to take."

"Pfft, don't talk nonsense" Shawn said, "Chating to the zombies won't stop them from eating your brain!"

"Oh, you poor human soul" she walked over to him, touching his forehead, "You need to get out more often so nature can tell you what's real and what's not."

"Ha, did a pacifist just roast you?" Jo mocked, "I wouldn't have guessed that either."

The next yacht brought a big red-haired boy, wearing glasses and an orange sweater with an ID tag. He walked with his luggage onto the dock. "Wow, this island is bigger than I ever read!" He said as he looked around the campsite.

"Welcome to Camp Wawanakwa, Rodney" the host greeted, "Ready for the experience?"

"Sure, I've read several books on outdoor life before coming here, I think I'll do just fine..." he stopped to look at some of the girls, who looked at him strangely, the redhead smiled and blushed upon seeing them, "Oh, hello? Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you too!" Jasmine greeted, shaking his hand, "I see you're very...handsome"

Rodney blushed more, "Are you serious?!"

"No, I talked about him..."

Jasmine had pointed out the other boat approaching, this one had a rather handsome boy with brown hair, quite well groomed, he wore a blue plaid jacket over a light blue t-shirt. His presence attracted several of the girls, and several boys by surprise. The newly arrived boy went down to the dock and walked towards Chris.

"Chris McLean, nice to meet you, man!" the boy said, fist-bumping him.

"Thanks, Topher, guess I know that not all country boys are the same now," he said as he let him walk towards the other contestants.

"Oh, I know, it's just a natural beauty that comes out inside me, no amount of hard work can ruin it."

"Oh my, someone of my own mold" Anne Maria murmured upon learning the origin of the new boy, "He's definitely the one for me..."

The next boat brought a girl with pale skin, black hair tied up and several Asian features, she wore a pink pop jacket with several stickers on it over a lighter pink kimono, the girl walked happily with her luggage.

"Hi, nice to meet you, Master McLean!" she greeted, giving him a small reverence.

"Welcome, Miss Eleanor," Chris replied.

"Oh, you can call me 'Ella', it's a name that will surely make it easier for many" the oriental girl said as she looked at the others, "I can feel the vibes from most of you, you're just as excited as I am about this competition."

"As if it wasn't obvious enough," Jo said incredulously.

The next one brought a fat brown-haired girl with a pink headband, she wore an equally pink sweater with a star image in the middle, she walked down the dock with her luggage.

"Welcome, Staci, ready for this adventure?" Chris asked.

"Totally, this is going to be a very similar journey to Henry Pattinson and The Heavenly Stone" she started to speak, "That dark fantasy book that got a very successful series that soon had a series of movies that was a box office hit, but a lot of us fans prefer the books because they have such a good narrative structure that you can't..."

"Nah-Nah! Nerd alert!" Max exclaimed, "Would you please stop talking so much? Your irritating nerdy voice drives me crazy as an athlete!"

"It's not like all athletes are like you" Scarlett told him, rolling her eyes.

"He's right, Staci," Chris said, looking at the nerd, "Try to keep your mouth shut if you don't want to get booted out."

"Sure, I can do that, it'll be as easy as reading that true story novel by the author..."

Thankfully she was silenced by the horn of the next boat that arrived, leaving a dark-skinned boy smaller than the others, he had shaved brown hair, wearing denim overalls over a red t-shirt, with had rain boots on. The boy walked with his small luggage onto the dock, "Wow, this place is much bigger and more open than the farm" he said in amazement, looking around.

"I'm glad you like it, Cameron" Chris told him, "I'm surprised you're the third one to come from the country side"

"Really? How do the other two feel about leaving the farm?"

"Honestly I really like getting out of there" Anne Maria said with great pleasure.

"Meh" was all Topher could say.

"Well, I'm kind of nervous, I miss the little farm I used to live in, and so does my mom."

"Awww, don't worry, farm kid" Lightning said as he approached the little farmer, patting him on the shoulder, "Lightning can make you a 10° bottle if that's what you need".

"Hey, I'm not a baby! I'm about to become a man soon."

"Why don't we test that out? Why don't you help me carry my bags?" The academic competitor handed Cameron his blue bags, which proved to be so heavy that he collapsed with them.

The next boat brought a big, fat boy with dark skin and an exaggeratedly large afro, he wore an orange safety vest over a gray shirt with visible oil stains, the boy walked over and waved from a long distance away.

"Beardo, what's up?" Chris asked

"Very fine, McLean, all good..." the boy said when he realized what he was stepping on. On the dock there were several boards that Duncan put to cover the destroyed part, but it didn't really look good, "These boards don't look very stable in a structure like this, especially because there are so many of us and..."

"Excuse me, dude, but we have a schedule to keep, could you just go over to the others?"

Beardo lowered his head in shame, "Sorry, I just wanted to say..." he walked over to the other contestants.

The next boat brought a thin boy with dark skin and short, fluffy black hair, he wore a green buttoned shirt and a red bow. The boy smiled, letting his two front teeth stick out, "Hello, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Leonard, nice to meet you here"

"I like your formal attitude" Chris told him

"Oh, I'm just introducing myself properly, that's what anyone who's won three academic decathlons would do."

"No way..." Lightning said, quite surprised, "I've only had one of those wins."

"How did you get such an exemplary winning streak?" Jo asked, impressed and jealous at the same time.

Leonard just adjusted his bow and smiled calmly, "A wizard never reveals his secrets..."

The next boat brought a red-haired boy similar to Rodney, but a little thinner and smaller, he wore a sleeveless denim vest over a simple white t-shirt, and had an ID badge hanging around his neck. The new boy looked at the island as he walked, with a look as neutral as the others.

"Nice to be here, Scott?" Chris asked.

"Nah, I'll regret it later..." he said with a somewhat bitter tone, "Although I guess it'll be worth it if I win that million dollars and people actually see me and not the stupid main star of the show..." he walked towards the others with the same bitter tone.

Suddenly a school sports music was heard when the next boat arrived, and from it came a boy who did a somersault until he landed standing on the dock next to his luggage, this boy had shaved black hair, he wore a green school uniform and short blue shorts, the boy walked quite strong towards Chris.

"Brick McArthur, cheer captain of Toronto High School" he said as he shook the host's hand, "Nice to meet you, sir."

"Cheer captain? I thought that position was only for girls" Lightning said in a mocking tone.

"Actually, boys have been able to cheer for a long time now," Jo corrected him, "Though that doesn't stop me from seeing the guy as rather effeminate..."

"Excuse me, lady" Brick spoke to her in an annoyed tone, "My clothes may not be the most ideally 'manly', but I'm still a pretty strong and proud team leader."

"Well, we'll see about that, Mr. Authority..."

The next boat brought a fat girl with big blonde hair, she was wearing a short pink dress, she strutted as she walked on the dock. "Make way for the true queen of the island!" She spoke in an arrogant manner with her distinguished accent, "Sugar, that's my name, I hope you understand it."

"What about expectations?" Chris asked

"It'll be a piece of cake, I won all the beauty pageants in New Jersey, winning a million dollars over this bunch of losers won't be a problem..."

The next boat brought two girls with blonde hair tied in a ponytail with a green cap, they wore a reddish camouflage shirt, dark green pants and military boots, both girls were very similar, except one of them had a mole on her cheek, which began to blow a whistle when she and the other one went down to the dock loudly

"Amantha Parker, reporting!" she said making a military salute, then she saw the other blonde harshly and she did the same as her.

"Samantha Parker, reporting too!" She spoke in a more nervous tone

"I'm glad you introduced yourselves that way" Chris said, "Although for my taste, we'll call you Amy and Sammy, what do you think?"

"Sounds good to me, Mr. McLean" Amy said before blowing the whistle right in front of her twin sister, because yes, they were identical twins, "What are you waiting for, young lady? Let's move to the platoon, now!" they both marched off carrying their luggage.

The next boat brought a big boy with dark skin and brown hair and some slight beard, he wore a blue jacket over a black shirt with a green stripe similar to that of a sound system, he had a red cap on backwards and hung purple headphones around his large neck. The boy walked neutrally towards the others.

"Welcome to the island, B" Chris greeted the newcomer

"'B'?" Dave asked incredulously, "Is that his name?"

The aforementioned boy simply nodded his head, not saying a word

"So you're kind of quiet, huh?" Chris spoke up, "Interesting..."

B nodded again before putting on his headphones and listening to music as he walked towards the others. The last boat arrived, but this one was much larger and more fancy than the others that were smaller and generic.

"What kind of spoiler brat travels there?" Scott asked

"Oh, she comes from a well-known lineage in the forests of Canada" Chris said as everyone watched the last contestant get off the boat, "With you, the last descendant and heiress of the Milton family... Dakota!"

Said girl took off the orange glasses she was wearing, she had tanned skin and long golden blonde hair, she wore a hot pink jacket, with darker tights and brown hiking boots. She adjusted the yellow gloves she was wearing before looking back at the others.

"Thank you, Dakota, for having your father pay for part of your casting in the auditions and your peculiar performance" Chris said to the approaching blonde.

"Oh, it's nothing" she said rather relaxed, "I just wanted to let people know my great lineage, my great-great-grandfather was the most famous moose hunter in Canada, my whole family is, now it's my turn to search the deepest recesses of Muskoka for a creature special enough"

Dawn gasped upon hearing that, "What does she intend to do here?" she murmured rather worried.

"It's fine, as long as you don't use any deadly or sharp weapons" Chris told Dakota, "We're on a family show"

"Oh, okay, even so it won't be an impediment to capturing any wonder I find here..." she began to walk towards the rest, until Beardo stopped in front of her.

"Wait, you can't come here!" he said in an alert tone, "You must back away slowly..."

"Oh, how rude, I have every right to walk around here!"

"Listen to Afro boy" Jo said, looking down with concern, "I don't think this old dock's weak grip can hold up any longer..."

At that moment, the dock's structure gave out and collapsed on the left side, sending all the contestants tumbling into the water. Chris watched this with amusement from a safe position, "And those were the twenty-seven crazy teens who will be competing the next weeks for the million" the host spoke to the camera, "Who will or won't be able to withstand the strong competition that is coming? Find out when we get back..."

(Commercial Break)

After the commercial breaks, we see the campers getting out of the water and onto the shore of the beach, soaked and complaining about what just happened.

"I can't believe my first arrival on an island would be like this..." Cameron said as he collapsed on the sand, coughing up water.

"Chris is going to pay for this!" Anne Maria said rather angrily, "He knows how hard it is to keep my hair free of blemishes while I work?" she sprayed herself with hairspray to try to dry herself, but all she did was make the others who came behind her cough.

"It could have been worse, honestly" Shawn said, "There could have been zombies in the water, and with our large numbers not many would have been saved"

"Stop fantasizing like that, basement nerd" Jo said mockingly as she passed by, "Be thankful you took an early bath, you really needed it"

"Was that clean water?" Zoey asked upon hearing her

"Duh, it's ocean water"

"But there are fish in the ocean, and where else can fish pee? In the water!" The redhead began to hug herself while shaking in disgust.

"Woah, Zoey, calm down" Mike said as he grabbed her shoulder, "There are no fish near the dock so I guess they didn't pee in that area, everything's fine"

Zoey stopped shaking and looked at the boy with a sweet smile, "Oh, thanks!"

Confessional (Mike):

Mike played with a roll of toilet paper before looking at the camera in front of him, "So, first confessional? Ok, um, Zoey is a cute girl, I don't want to flirt with her too soon like this, for now we'll be friends" he said, "I just hope that my...'condition', won't ruin things this time"

Confessional (Zoey):

Zoey sprayed sanitizer around the cabin before looking at the camera, "Hi, my name's Zoey" she said in a pleasant tone, "So the confessional cabin is a bathroom? Well, as long as I spray it with sanitizer every time I enter here, everthing will be fine; I just hope the others don't mind my cleanliness habits, I hope everyone here likes me...you like me, right?"

End of the Confessionals

Sky took a towel from the ones that a pale-skinned intern with blue-green hair was handing out.

"Well, it wasn't the best welcome" the girl said as she dried her hair, "But hey, it was just an accident, I don't think that's going to make us leave this island."

"Tell me about it..." said the intern who was giving away the towels, rolling her eyes as she left.

"Me too, girl" Sugar said as she threw water off her heels, "Just look at how my precious pageant shoes turned out, how am I going to position myself as a winner now?"

"Oh, don't worry, dear Sugar" Ella spoke to her, approaching her gently, "I see a lot of competitive energy in you, but I don't think you need to look good to be a winner."

"I don't need to look good to win? Is that a joke? Is that sabotage? Do you want me to lose?!"

"Oh, gosh, I was just trying to cheer you up!" Ella stepped back somewhat worried, "I think I'd better leave you alone..."

Confessional (Sugar):

"Oh, Sugar already saw the real deal with that bubbly girl" the blonde spoke with her arms crossed, "If anyone tries to get in my way to win, I'll make sure they fall hard"

Confessional (Ella):

"Part of my Medium learning is being able to channel the needs of the other people around me and help them along my way" Ella said to the camera, "My first attempt wasn't very good, but with time, I'll be able to understand that girl well."

End of the Confessionals

As the others dried themselves with towels, they heard a voice coming from the speakers positioned on a pole near to the beach.

"Attention, new arrivals!" spoke the voice which was Chris's, "Right now our interns are saving your luggage from the water and carrying it to your new cabins, so finish drying off and run down the path that leads to the forest, just be very careful of the animals"

"Yeah, right" said Jo mockingly, "We don't want to face an Oryctolagus Cuniculus head on"

"A what?" Lightning said

"Bunnies, duh"

"Oh yeah" he laughed confidently, "No herbivorous animal at least 0.60 centimeters tall will be able to stop Lightning!"

"I wouldn't be too confident," Chris said, "I heard that the slightest sound can alarm them, like this one here..."

The host blew a horn loudly through the speakers, causing everyone to cover their ears. When he stopped, a powerful roar was suddenly heard from the island's forest, scaring most of them.

"Pfft, it must be just a little sound to scare us," Scott said, a bit terrified, "There's no reason to run..." at that, they could see two trees collapsing in the distance, "Ok, I think there is...". It was at that moment that everyone started running down the path, screaming in panic and getting away from whatever had come from there.

Later, in the forest, there was a finish line positioned on the path, and up ahead were 3 carpets of different colors, one red, one blue, and one green. Suddenly, the first two contestants to reach the finish line arrived, Mike and Scarlett, the first being basically the first to arrive, both of them stopping to catch their breath.

"Wow, you're a little faster than I thought" Scarlett told the boy while panting.

"I'm practicing for Olympic athletics, that's all" he replied, just as tired. Then, none other than Chris arrived on a dirt bike, looking at the first two with a smile

"Olympic boy, stand on the red carpet, you're on team A" the host told Mike, "You, another athlete, on the blue carpet, you're on team B". At that moment Amy arrived stomping on the finish line, "Military girl, to the green carpet, you're on team C"

Then Beardo arrived, quite exhausted, "Why do I feel like I've gained like 30k?" he said panting, until he noticed something on his back, it was Max, who upon realizing that she was looking at him got down and stood in front of him.

"Fifth place?" he said incredulously, "Not bad at all for having arrived alone"

"What are you talking? You were on my back!"

"Why would I do something like that? Athletes are made to run..."

"Underpaid worker, team A" said Chris pointing at the two, "Lying dwarf, team B". Suddenly Jasmine arrived, "Actress that nobody knows, team C", the Australian looked at him angrily before heading to the carpet, when Jo and Lightning arrived tied.

"Ha, for a nerd I'm way faster than you" Jo mocked, thinking she got there first.

"Nah hah, Lightning crossed the finish line like two centimeters ahead!" he countered, "Uh, it would be more noticeable with a camera, right Chris?"

"I don't care, you're both on team A" said the host, then Sky and Dave arrived at the finish line, "Theater girl and, uh, ordinary boy, you're on team B"

"Uh, I'm not ordinary, look at my clothes..." Dave pointed at his shirt, "It's indie style, just so you know"

"I don't see the difference" Sky said a little confused

"Me neither and nobody cares, move" Chris told them, receiving an annoyed look from Dave. At that moment B arrived, and when he stopped he turned around to show that Cameron had clung to his back

"Hey, that fool stole my idea..." Max said, then cut himself off somewhat nervously, "I mean, how weak, he can't even run two kilometers!"

"DJ and farmer, you on team C" the host told them. Then Zoey, Anne Maria and Shawn arrived at the finish line, "Germophobe, hairspray head, conspiracy theorist, you three on team A"

"What was that thing in the woods?" Zoey asked quite alarmed

"It's probably zombies!" Shawn suggested also alarmed, "And they're really strong!"

"All in good time..." Chris answered unconcerned, then Dakota arrived with Dawn and Topher, "Heiress, naturist, cute boy, team B". Then came three others, Sammy, Ella and Sugar, "Foreign student, beauty contestant and another military girl, team C"

"Why were you so far behind me?" Amy scolded her sister when she saw her, "As a partner you're supposed to be at my pace, always; now as punishment, fifty push-ups, now!". She blew her whistle and soon Sammy started doing the 50 push-ups, even though she was exhausted.

"That's not fair I'd say..." Jasmine said sadly to the blonde doing push-ups all tired.

"You come with her too, princess!"

"But..."

"NOW!"

"Ok, ok..." the aussie come with Sammy for doing push-ups

Suddenly, Scott arrived at the finish line, "Redhead and freckles, team A" Chris told him

"Hey, McLean, there are some cool special effects in the forest, huh..." Scott said when he later saw that the host didn't answer and just smiled at him, making him somewhat nervous, "Okay, I think I'll go straight to my team"

Then Brick arrived at the finish line, quite exhausted, "Cheerleader Captain, team B," the host told him.

"Yes, Mr. McLean..." he said, he was about to move when Rodney arrived and accidentally pushed him forward to the ground

"Oops, sorry" he apologized.

"Redhead and freckles 2.0, team C" Chris told him

At that, Rodney looked at his team and was surprised to see that most of them were girls, and he looked at them sweetly, even Jasmine and Sammy who were sweating while doing push-ups, "How lucky I am..." he murmured as he walked towards his new team.

Then Leonard arrived, equally exhausted, "Nerd 3.0, team A" Chris told him, when he saw Sam dragging himself on the ground with his heavy backpack on him

"I wish I had a drink stand in the middle of the forest" he said between gasps because out of all of them, he was the most exhausted.

"Tourist, team B" Chris pointed out when he then saw the last contestant to arrive, Staci who was very dizzy.

"This race is more intense than the one that happened in the third act of Dragon Riders in... chapter... number... eight..." she said so exhausted that she collapsed next to Sam.

"And finally, literature talker, team C" Chris said happily to finish the team assignment.

"Okay, now could you tell us, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT THING IN THE FOREST?!" Zoey asked quite nervously.

"This island is small enough for a species big enough to knock down a few trees" Jo said, equally nervous.

"What she said" Lightning said, pointing at her.

"Relax, it'll all make sense later..." Chris told them just before he started laughing, whose laughter became loud and manic, leaving the other contestants confused and scared at the same time. "Now, let's talk about how this competition will go. First of all, since there are a lot of you here, every day someone will be eliminated, including today!". that made several gasp in surprise and worry.

"That sounds too hard" Cameron said weakly.

"I know, but since I know that it will be a slaughter over who wins or loses, I have this little guy who will help you a lot..." he pulled out a small wooden figurine in the shape of her own face, "I present to you, the McLean Invincibility Statuette! Even if your teammates vote for you, you will be safe, whoever possesses it will become the most powerful player in the entire game!"

Confessional (Jo):

"I think I have the key element for my victory" she said quite confidently

End of the Confessional

"However, it's still too early to have it out there, so we'll let you know when you can go to get it..." before putting the figurine away he looked at it for a moment, "My chin seems a little bigger, right?"

"Yep, it looks like a butt," Scott scoffed, earning a glare from the host who put the figurine back in his pocket.

"Anyway, time to name the teams!"

"I suggest we call ourselves 'Lightning Squad'!" the boy with the same name spoke up, "It's short, simple, and matches the team's representative."

"Who declared that?" Jo asked incredulously

"Me, duh."

"Good suggestion, Lightning," Chris told her, "But the names have already been chosen by...moa, Team A, you will now be known as...'The Mutant Maggots'!". A red logo with a three-eyed snarling worm figure appeared above the members of the first team which consisted of Jo, Lightning, Mike, Zoey, Anne Maria, Shawn, Leonard, Beardo and Scott

"Well, at least it sounds wild," Scott said

"What do you mean by 'mutant'?" Zoey asked a little nervously

"Team B" Chris turned to the second team, "You will now be called...'The Poison Frogs'!". A blue logo with a devilish frog figure appeared above the team that included Brick, Dave, Sky, Dakota, Dawn, Scarlett, Max, Topher and Sam.

"Cool, dude, killer" Sam praised the name.

"And finally, Team C" he addressed the third team, "You're name will be...'The Toxic Rats'!". A green logo with a six-legged rabid rat figure appeared above the last team members which were Jasmine, Sammy, Amy, Rodney, Ella, Sugar, Cameron, B and Staci

"What is your fascination with chemical waste?" Rodney asked the host, quite confused by the choice of names

"Yeah, why are all the names about that...?" Sammy asked as well until a loud roar startled everyone, it was the same noise they had heard before.

"It's the monster!" Cameron shouted alarmed, "And it's coming towards us!"

That's how they saw more trees fall, closer to where they were, when suddenly some bushes next to them began to shake. The campers looked on in fear, some hugging each other, until finally the being that caused so much chaos emerged, and revealed itself as a bald squirrel with yellow eyes and rather thin pupils.

"What the hell? It's just a stupid shaved Sciuridae!" said Jo somewhat disappointed

"It's a pretty ugly squirrel if you ask me" said Dave

"Aww, I think it looks really cute..." said Dawn touched by the being, just before it abnormally blinked its eyes horizontally, causing most of the contestants to scream in fear or disgust. "Oh, my goodness! What's wrong with this little one?"

"I'll tell you quickly" Chris began to speak, "Years ago, when the camp was abandoned, it was used as a safe place to turn it into a bio-hazardous wasteland". He pointed at a tree from afar that was surrounded by rusty yellow barrels, which spilled a green, viscous substance on it, a possible reason why some roots that were not of its species had sprouted. "Although we have 'reduced' the danger, the effects of the waste have been permanent, along with anything that is near it."

At that moment, a butterfly flew near the mutated squirrel, and it swallowed it with its extended tongue as if it were a frog, making several of the contestants uncomfortable with fear.

"Wow, amazing..." Sam said, a little impressed.

"NO, it's not!" Zoey told him, very alarmed, "We should get away from that monster as soon as possible, it could be dangerous!"

"Nah, I don't think it is..." Scott told her. At that, Dakota approached and knelt in front of the squirrel, visibly not scared

"How strange" she said looking at the mutant in her own flesh, "I've never seen a being like this, and I'll be the first to possess it..." she tried to take the rodent with her hands but it roared loudly in her face, and then, from its own eyes it shot rays near her, making her run away in fear.

Now Dakota could be seen looking with fear, climbed into Scott's arms, "Ok, I regret what I said" said the redhead uncomfortable as he held the blonde

"Chris, do you know where the path to the nearest boat to leave the island?" asked Zoey almost paranoid.

"Nope, from now on this will be our show" answered Chris, "In the most dangerous place EVER seen!"

Confessional (Zoey):

The germaphobe was seen crying for real, "Why did I sign up for this show? Why?!" she continued crying regretfully.

Confessional (Dave):

"Okay, can someone tell me, why are we here?" the indie boy spoke, "I mean, any of the producers would think twice about accepting our stay in a place like this, right?"

Confessional (Jo):

"According to my calculations, the toxic waste, a very dangerous source, has formed during the camp for years, spreading all its poisons and genetically altering the flora and fauna" he spoke thoughtfully, "The real question is...why aren't we dead yet?"

Confessional (Dakota):

"I wish I could forget what happened to that stupid rodent" she declared, "But it seems that he's not the only mutated being on this island, there are a lot of creatures out there that man hasn't met yet, but the first one to dominate them will be me..."

Confessional (Lightning):

"This is going to be a tough and not at all friendly competition" he said, "But Lightning is mentally prepared for this, as well as physically..."

End of the Confessionals

The closer squirrel got to the contestants, while the contestants became trembling with fear in their vast majority.

"Don't worry, Lightning has this situation under control!" said the mathlete before kicking the mutant rodent hard, sending it far away. He looked at the others with confidence, "See? There's nothing to fear, I solved this problem very easily..." some loud roars made him turn around and he discovered more squirrels like the previous one, growling menacingly, "Uhhh, does anyone have the solution to this variant?"

"RUN!" Dave shouted, and he and all the other contestants ran away from the mutated squirrels, which were shooting rays everywhere.

Confessional (Cameron):

"This place is crazy! And not in a good way..." said the farmer who now remained in the lotus position in fear.

End of the Confessional

Later, Mike and Scarlett ran ahead of the others, now being in a clearing in the forest. Suddenly, Scarlett pulled Mike back, the Olympian was surprised by the movement until he knew the reason for it. Just a few inches in front of him was none other than a massive bubbling, glowing green sinkhole, with several rusty barrels floating around it.

"Woah, that was close!" Mike said, breathing heavily before smiling at Scarlett, "Thanks for saving me from that!"

"You're welcome" the redhead replied, just as agitated as he was. Soon enough, more contestants arrived, who were shocked to see the toxic sinkhole shining in front of them.

"Oh, my goodness!" Dawn exclaimed with a disturbed look, "What have they done to Mother Nature on this island?!"

"That's a lot, too much, toxicity..." Zoey said, shaking in fear until she passed out.

"There's no way we're living here!" Scott said, "I mean...this has to be a joke, there are cameras here, right?"

"This is no joke, Scott..." Chris said as he arrived on his dirt bike, "But there are cameras everywhere, ready to film the hottest, most dramatic and dangerous reality show ever!". Then he looked at the camera, "So don't miss it next time, here, on Total...Drama...Island!"

Author's Notes:

Hi, happy new year, I hope 2025 is a good one for me and for all of you! This time I'm starting BIG with what is for me, my BIGGEST fan-made project in the Total Drama category, and it was something that occurred to me almost a semester ago (specifically on August 15, 2024).

It was basically while watching a gameplay of Underswap (a Swap AU fangame of Undertale, play it!), when it came to my head, "how funny would the characters be with their labels swapped", and then I thought about it more and said..."I have to write this!". But in order not to talk too much about my creative process, for that this doesn't become another aimless fanfic halfway through, I decided to plan everything I have planned for this 26-episode season (the elimination order is already done and closed, so no ask).

The first thing to note is that, unlike other fics, this is not an AU where the characters' personalities are only swapped to make them completely different. Instead, I used an idea that my Argentine friend shared with me, just like the Swap AU of Undertale does where I get inspired. The characters' labels are swapped with each other, so their original personalities are mostly preserved, only this time some of them dedicate themselves to other hobbies, more or less.

But so that this note doesn't get too long, I took the last two generations of TD before the reboot to balance the numbers (I put the twins' one together). And if you want to know which character was swapped with who, check out Total Drama's reddit and search for "Swap Generation" and you'll get more information and even be able to see the new designs.

Anyway, speaking of the episode, it was just an introduction to these somewhat changed characters and what this new universe is like. This is the first (and ONLY) season, Wawanakwa Island was abandoned and irradiated by waste long before, and the highlight is that some of the original cast work as interns (you'll see more ones later, but there are only six)

But this is just a part of the next episode that was published simultaneously with this one, so we'll see you there...
