Chapter One
"Santana Maria Lopez had been staying with Shelby Corcoran- July and Cassandra Corcoran-July for the past month. Her parents had asked her to leave their house after she was caught sneaking in while drunk twice. On the same night As Shelby drove down the street near her house, she spotted Santana sitting on the sidewalk with two suitcases. She immediately pulled over her car and walked up to Santana, curious about why she was not at home."
Santana was in tears as she revealed that her parents had kicked her out and she had nowhere to go. Upon hearing this, Kind-hearted Shelby offered her a place to stay at her own house, Santana was amazed at Mrs. Corcoran's -July generosity. After Shelby agreed with a smile, she offered to take Santana home. Extending her hand, Santana took it and Shelby carefully helped her stand up. Guiding Santana to the black SUV, Shelby put her suitcase inside. Shelby asks Santana to fasten her seatbelt, flashes a smile, shuts the door on the passenger side, and strides toward the driver's seat. She briefly looks at Santana and heads towards her home she share with the dancer Cassandra July."
While Cassandra was busy cooking dinner, Shelby showed up with Santana in tow. Cassandra was confused and asked Shelby who the younger brunette was. Shelby explained that Santana is a member of one of the rival school choirs that she would be competing against at Nationals. After Cassandra was introduced to Santana, they exchanged pleasantries. Cassandra and Shelby proceeded to help Santana with her luggage and then sat her down on the couch. Curious about Santana's story.
Shelby mentioned that she was kicked out of her house by her parents. Then, she suggested that they should ask Santana for more information about the situation. They planned to ask her together after dinner. When they returned to the kitchen, they noticed Santana crying and wiping her tears away. Cassie comforted Santana by holding her hand."
After dinner, Shelby took Santana to her room to show her around. Shelby inquired, "What do you think? We can paint it another color if you like?" Santana responded, "I like it, Mrs. Corcoran- July, and thank you for letting me stay here." Shelby instructed Santana to put her clothes away and informed her that the bathroom is across the hall. Additionally, Shelby offered that her door is always open and that if she needed anything, Shelby's and Cassie's room is down the hall. Once Shelby left and closed the door, Santana placed her suitcase on her king-size bed and began putting her clothes away in the drawers and closet. Santana grabbed her pajamas and walked across the hall to the bathroom. After closing the door, she turned on the light and showered, and removed all of her clothes before getting in. As she cried out, she began lathering soap onto her body. While Santana showered, Shelby entered her room and sat down on her bed."
After thirty minutes, Santana went out and put on her pajamas before walking into her room. Shelby and Cassandra sitting on her bed welcomed her by sitting on the bed and gesturing for Santana to sit next to her. "What happened to you, San?" Shelby asked. Santana avoided eye contact Shelby asked her about her situation. Santana explained why her parents kicked ber out of her house by admitting, "I went to a party at Puck's house and had few drinks.
Santana looked up at her teacher, Shelby. Shelby informed Santana that she didn't have to go back home but would speak with your Santana's parents the next day.
How much did you drink?" Shelby inquired. Santana looked down and replied hesitantly, "Um... a lot."
Like three or four the dancer asked.
I had five drinks Santana says
Shelby let out a sigh and said, "You could have been seriously hurt. You know better than to engage in such behavior."
"I understand, Mrs. C. I won't do it again," Santana responded.
"Good. Let's not have this conversation again. Call me Shelby - we're not in school," Shelby stated.
You can call me Cass the blonde dancer says
Santana nodded, "Understood. May I go to bed now?" Shelby responded, "Of course," kissed Santana on the forehead, and left the room with Cassandra.
Later that evening, when Cassie asked how she was doing, Shelby tried to keep herself calm and told Cassie that she intended to talk to Santana's parents after dropping her off at school. Shelby changed into her pajamas and snuggled with Cassie, giving her kisses. She also mentioned that they would require all the assistance they could get and that she would contact her lawyer.
Present
"When Santana walked into the kitchen, she sat down on a stool and asked her mother if she could go to Brittney's house after cheer practice. In response, Shelby explained that they had plans to visit Grandma but said that Santana could go to Brittney's house the next day if she behaved appropriately. Santana pouted, but her mother laughed and reminded her not to be late for school. They then got into the car and went to school. During the car ride, Shelby emphasized the importance of good behavior, and Santana promised to do her best in school.
Shelby warns that consequences will follow if you misbehave in school and she receives a phone call regarding your behavior. However, Santana's mother is concerned about the potential for trouble and advises Santana to be careful. "I don't want you to get into any trouble today, young lady," she cautions, kissing her daughter's forehead. "Have a good day, tiger. Don't forget that I love you." Santana responds with affection and gratitude, waving goodbye as her mother drives away.
In the hallway five minutes later, a group of hockey players, among them a guy named Karofsky, were walking. They carried slushies and hurled them at Santana while she was at her locker. At this point, Santana yelled Karofsky's name, however, instead of stopping, the other three guys threw slushies at her as well. After that, they laughed and high-fived each other while walking away. Santana made a threat to take revenge against Karofsky and his friends. In response, Karofsky physically assaulted her by pushing her to the ground before leaving the location.
Santana exclaimed and rushed to her locker to grab a spare Cheerios uniform. She then headed to the restroom to freshen up. Despite Brittney's offer to call Santana's mother, Santana refused, saying she could handle the situation. As they headed to homeroom class, Brittney kept a watchful eye on Santana, fearing that she might get angry again. After class, Quinn and Brittney avoided bringing up the earlier incident with Santana, who was still visibly upset.
-Glee-
"When her classmates walked in, Rachel was at the front of the classroom. Kurt asked if Mr. Schue was there, but he wasn't, so they decided to begin the work. Rachel was eager to sing a solo, but Santana, who was not a fan of Rachel's singing, disagreed. She didn't think Rachel should sing at Sectionals or Nationals and made her point by pointing at Finn."
Everyone here sings better than the two of you," said Santana with anger.
Rachel declared that she will be singing with Finn, aiming for a victory and that she holds no regard for anyone's opinion on the matter.
As Rachel was the target of Santana's rage, Puck and Brittney held her back while Santana struggled to get to her. 'Why you little!' spat Santana.
"Finn shouted at Santana, asking her to stop being mean to everyone as they were all fed up!"
Santana looked angrily at Finn and verbalized that she could do whatever she pleased with her mouth. Mr. Schue entered the room and reiterated Santana's prior warnings. Santana opposed having to stay after school today, which Mr. Schue had assigned. Mr. Schue explained that it was Santana's fault for being careless. Quinn pointed out that Santana had been defending herself against Berry's attempt to take over the glee club. Mr. Schue remarked that there was no justification for using foul language following multiple notices. However, given that Santana had had a difficult day, Mr. Schue let the event pass until now.
Mr. Schue threatened to expel Santana from the team if she didn't attend detention, but Santana noticed that other students weren't being punished. Mr. Schue instructed Santana to go to the office and then return to detention. Santana left the room with her Cheerios bag.
As she felt her phone vibrate in her bag, she mumbled to herself. She checked a text from her mom that read: "I'll pick you up at 5." At the same time, Santana sent her a text letting her know that the glee club would run until 6 that day. Shelby quickly responded with an "ok love you" to Santana and received a loving "I love you too, Mom" in return.
When Santana came into Mr. Figgins' office, she sat down in front of him. He reminded her that they'd already talked about her behavior two days before and that it has to stop. He indicated that if she didn't improve, the next step would be a two-week suspension.
"Santana was determined to make an extra effort this time around, following previous instances of using inappropriate language against Mr. Shuester's advice. Despite repeated warnings, Mr. Schue sent Santana to the office for using profanity, which was deemed unsuitable for her age. As a result, Mr. Schue was assigned a two-week detention after glee club, as well as lunch detention. However, Santana contested the punishment, arguing that it was unjustified and that detention was not an option for her."
You have detention because of what you did today. Due to your lack of cooperation, you will be served an additional week of detention. Figgins informed her that he will inform her parents to pick up the phone."
"Santana yelled out that it was unfair. Please refrain from calling my mom while she's at work. It would be best to call her when she's at home. Alternatively, you could talk to my Mama, Santana said, trying to avoid gettingin trouble with her mother."
Figgins contacted Cassandra to inform her that Santana was in trouble and needed to speak with her. Upon hearing this, Cassandra agreed to meet Mr. Figgins. Mr. Figgins then instructed Santana to wait outside. Santana reacted strongly, saying, "Why did you have to call her now? I'll never have any fun!" She mumbled to herself and slammed the door before sitting down. Ten minutes later, Cassandra arrived at the office and the other kids stared at her. Upon seeing Santana sitting in a chair, Cassandra said, "You're in big trouble, missy." Santana slouched and whimpered, "I'm sorry, momma."
Cassandra spoke firmly, her face softening. 'We will discuss this matter at home. Until then, please remain seated.' Cassie said, as Santana nodded, her eyes downcast in an attempt to hold back tears."
Upon arriving at Mr. Figgins' office, Cassie greeted him with a handshake and promptly inquired about her daughter's behavior. She bypassed small talk and was informed that Santana had been causing disruptions in the classroom and using inappropriate language despite warnings. After sighing, Cassie turned to Santana, then back to Mr. Figgins, and agreed to talk with her daughter regarding her behavior. Cassie asked whether there was any additional information she needed to know. Figgins explained that Santana received two weeks of detention, including lunchroom detention with Mr. Schuester. An additional week was added due to a fight with two other students. Cassie was upset and asked why the other students weren't also punished. Figgins responded that Santana was the only one displaying aggressive behavior and using foul language. Upon further questioning, Cassie learned that the two students were Miss. Berry and Mr. Hudson, who had never been in trouble before. Feeling as though her daughter was being treated unfairly, Cassie decided to take her child home right away. She noted that Santana would serve a two-week detention instead of four, and requested a parent-teacher conference along with the two students who were protected. The meeting was scheduled for tomorrow after school, following glee. Cassie signed the detention slip and promised to ensure that Santana attended detention the following day. Finally, Figgins informed Mr. Schuester, and Cassie left the office. Cassandra stood up and promptly left the office. She instructed Santana to follow suit, but Santana hesitated. Knowing that Santana's delay would only exacerbate the situation, Cassandra urged her to quicken her pace as they made their way toward the parking lot. However, Santana's slow walking speed frustrated Cassandra, leading her to swat Santana on the buttocks. Santana let out a yelp of pain and began to rub her sore behind as they continued towards Cassandra's car.
Inside the car
Santana was in tears and apologized to her mom. She confessed something to her, and her mom, understandingly, hugged her and said she knew. San asked if they should inform her mother, and Santana cried even harder at this suggestion. Cass comforted her, assuring her that they would handle the situation immediately, wiping away Santana's tears and kissing her forehead. Despite the trouble Santana faced, she could still cuddle with them later. After nodding her head in agreement, Santana fastened her seat belt and they drove out of the school parking lot.
At the house
Cassie unlocked the door and they entered the house. Santana's Mama instructed her to go stand in her usual corner, but Santana tearfully asked if it was necessary. Her Mama responded firmly with a 'yes' and gave her a firm spank on her behind. Santana then ran to the corner of the living room, rubbed her stinging bottom, and stood there, putting her nose in the corner, as she was instructed.
Cassie went to the office to call Shelby. After the second ring, Shelby picked up and inquired why Cassie was calling since she was still at practice. Cassie informed Shelby that San needed to be picked up from school and revealed that San had received two weeks of detention. Cassie also informed Shelby that she had requested a parent-teacher conference with the glee teacher and the parents of the two other children involved.
"Good job handling the situation," Shelby said, chuckling.
"I wish you could have seen the look on the idiot principal's face when I told him how it is going to be," Cassie said. "I believe they were targeting San."
Cassie agreed to talk more with Shelby later about the situation.
Earlier, Shelby had advised San to avoid trouble and hoped that San would receive appropriate punishment. Cassie responded positively, mentioning that San was already in time-out. Shelby informed Cassie that she would arrive in 45 minutes, and then they said goodbye and hung up.
While watching Santana sitting in a chair, she walked out. Cassie approached Santana and swatted her on the bottom, saying "Hands over your head". Santana whimpered and compiled by putting her hands over her head. Cassie then heard Shelby's car approaching, so she quickly unlocked the door, closed it, put her keys in the bowl, and kissed Cassie.
Santana's mother invited her daughter to come out of the corner and she turned around to face her.
Shelby invited her to sit on the couch with her in a calm manner. Santana approached her mother slowly with her head down and avoiding eye contact."
"Shelby lifted her daughter's chin gently and said, "Tiger, listen to me. We've talked about the consequences of misbehaving in school, and that's going to stop today. You will apologize to everyone tomorrow."
Mom Santana was about to speak but Shelby's tone was firm, leaving no room for argument. 'Don't "mom" me, Tiger, you broke the rules,' she said.
The Latina apologized to her mother, saying "I'm sorry, Mommy." Shelby touched Santana's cheek and explained, "I feel that disciplining you is important because it's my duty as a good mother. Your behavior warrants a spanking." Santana began to cry and tried to place the blame elsewhere, saying "The dwarf made me do it." Shelby replied, "You got in trouble and now have two weeks of detention." She then pulled Santana over her lap.
Cassie exited the room, giving them privacy
Santana pleaded with desperation, "Please don't spank me."
Shelby intervened and commanded sternly, "Release your hands, dear."
After Santana defied the command, Shelby firmly smacked her hands before delivering consecutive blows to her right buttock. As Shelby continued spanking Santana's bottom, it became hot and turned red. Santana kicked and cried while pleading with her mother to stop. Despite her daughter's desperate pleas, Shelby persisted until finally stopping and declaring that Santana had done well.
Shelby retrieved a brown hairbrush from her purse and hit her daughter's seat spot firmly, causing Santana to cry out and beg once again. Shelby then spanked both buttocks until Santana's bottom received ten firm swats, pulling up her panties and skirt afterward. The remainder of the punishment caused Santana discomfort whenever she sat.
When Shelby hugged Santana and assured her that everything was forgiven, Santana cried heavily. Shelby then planted a series of kisses on Santana's forehead and the top of her head, and they held each other tightly for five minutes until Santana was calm. Shelby lifted Santana's chin and directed her to stand in the corner, informing her that she would let her know when she could leave. Even though Santana attempted to soothe her aching bottom, Shelby cautioned her against it. Santana stood rigidly in the corner with her hands raised above her head.
Shelby knelt beside Santana and spoke gently, "Your time-out is over, sweetheart". Santana apologized and then turned around to hug her mother. Afterward, Shelby assisted her daughter with her clothes and lifted her onto her lap. Together, they sat down on the couch.
"What caused your misbehavior at school?" Santana's mother inquired. Santana shifted the blame onto a person named Dwarf. Shelby reprimanded Santana's name-calling and asked for Dwarf's proper name. Santana replied that it was Rachel Berry, who had attempted to take over the Glee club while Mr. Schue was briefly away. Shelby was intrigued and asked for more clarification on Rachel's motivations.
"Before Mr. Schuester entered the classroom, did you inform him about the situation? You said that the girl and her boyfriend had been provoking you. Is it because she thinks she's superior to others? I remember you were using swear words in the presence of someone, and there seemed to be tension in the room Perhaps Shelby can shed some light on the situation.
"Santana became upset when she explained that he took the ape's side and sent me to the office. He refused to let me do what I wanted. However, her mother calmed her down by running her fingers through her hair and promised to speak to the teacher to resolve the issue. Despite this, Santana was grounded for three weeks."
"Unless I permit it, you are not allowed to return to glee club. Please hand over your phone and laptop. Watching television is not allowed. You have to go to bed tonight at 8 pm, as instructed by Shelby. Cassie joins them on the couch and inquires about the time your mom wants us to arrive, clarifying the schedule.
"Shelby glanced at her girlfriend at 8:30. Cassie leaned over and kissed Santana on the head. After the kiss, Santana expressed sadness at the thought of leaving her friends in the Glee club."
"Sweetheart, I'm sorry about what happened at school today. I know that those two kids made you angry and caused you to use bad language. But you also know our family rule about using that kind of language at home. If there's any more foul language, regardless of whether or not you expect it, I'll have to spank you with my hairbrush. Can you promise me that you'll be more careful about that, my love?" Shelby asked.
"Yes, mommy. I promise to be good." Santana replied.
"That's my girl," Shelby said, smiling. "We should tidy up before we head to your grandma's house. And I was thinking, after your detention, why don't we all go to Carmel together? That way, we can spend quality time as a family."
"Shelby suggested bringing you along with us to Carmel High to help you stay out of trouble after detention. Cassie also mentioned that they would like to talk to Rachel and the boy you referred to as an ape. Tomorrow, you will need to apologize to the entire glee club and inform them that you will not be able to return unless your mom gives permission."
Santana pleaded with her mom, "Please reconsider, I enjoy going to Glee."
Shelby replied firmly, "I've made up my mind, sweetheart. We need to go visit Grandma."
Shelby gently placed Santana on the ground and held out her hand, leading her upstairs.
Santana's mother sifted through her closet, choosing an outfit for her daughter to wear.
Santana pouted and complained, "My bottom hurts."
Shelby comforted her, saying, "I'll put some cream on it."
Shelby grabbed a loose, light blue top and a white skirt and asked Cassie to apply some cream to her sore bottom. She then sat down and cuddled up close to her mom, Santana.
As she rubbed the ointment on her sore bottom gently, she reminded her to behave well tonight. "I will, Mom," Santana replied quietly.
Shelby kissed her on the forehead and asked if she would like to change her last name to Santana Marie Corcoran-July and go by Santana July in school. "I like it," San said as she looked at Shelby.
"I figured you would, that's why I already changed it this morning when I talked to my lawyer. Santana likes the idea and Shelby tells her that they had already legally adopted her a month ago.
As Cassie enters the room, she mentions that they need to leave soon if they want to be on time. She hands the cream to Shelby before walking out to change. Her mother tells her to raise her arms and put on the shirt, followed by applying the cream to her sore bottom and wearing her fresh undies along with a white skirt. As she finishes, she brushes Santana's hair and looks at her purple room, which she had chosen a week ago. Before leaving, she locks Santana's laptop in her drawer and puts her phone in her purse. Cassie then calls out that she is ready and waits with Shelby and Bug in the car. She helps Santana sit down and buckle up in her car seat before closing the door. Santana sweetly responds that she is always good, to which Cassie chuckles and closes the door, getting in the passenger seat as Shelby drove off Santana complained of a hurt butt and whines. Cassie assured Santana that they would soon arrive and her mom would apply the cream before bed. Santana asked how long the drive was because she was still in pain. Cassie swatted her thigh and warned her not to whine again or she would be put in the corner. Ten minutes later, they arrived at Shelby's mom's place. Cassie and Shelby got out, Cassie unbuckled Santana and took her hand, leading her inside. Santana hugged her nana and sat beside her at the dining table. They had a quiet dinner without any problems. Nana asked Santana about her grades and cheerleading. Santana replied that her grades were good and she enjoyed cheerleading despite the poor performance of their football team at McKinley."
Stacy and Shelby moved to another room. They sat next to each other. "Why does my granddaughter look so down tonight?" Stacy asks her daughter. "She got into trouble at school, so I grounded her for three weeks without any glee practice and electronic devices," Shelby answered. "What about cheerleading? That should count," Stacy suggested. "I thought about it and I think she should still do it," Shelby said with a shrug. "I don't think she should, since she acted up in school. She needs to know that you mean business and never do what she did in the first place," Stacy explained. "I know, Mom. I'll talk to her about it when we get home," Shelby promised. "Okay, what did she do at school?" her mother asked. "She kept on swearing when her teacher asked her not to, and she lost it after another student tried to take over the glee club. She now has lunchroom detention, along with after-school detention," Shelby said in one breath. "I hope you spanked her real good so that she doesn't pull that stunt ever again," her mother remarked. "I did, Mom!" Shelby replied.
"She told her daughter, 'You did the right thing; don't ever question that, sweetie.' Shelby nodded and replied, 'I love you, Mom.' Her mother responded, 'I love you two from the moon and back.'
As they wrapped up dinner, Shelby said, 'We should get going. Thank you for dinner, Mom.' Her mother replied, 'No problem. All of you are more than welcome to come over again.'
Shelby kissed her mom's cheek and called for Cassie and Santana. Santana said goodnight to her Nana and wrapped her arms around her mom. Cassie hugged Stacy goodnight, and the family of three walked out the door.
Cassie and Shelby were holding hands as they walked to their car. Cass whispered to Shelby, 'Do you want Bug to lose cheerleader to baby?' Shelby replied, 'Yes. I know she will be upset about it.' Cassie replied, 'Okay,' back to her girlfriend.
Cassie helped Santana get into her car seat and buckled her in. She told her, 'Your mom and I are very proud of how well you behaved tonight,' kissing her forehead. Santana asked, 'Really, Momma?' Her mama replied, 'Yes.' Closing the back door, Shelby drove them home while Santana fell asleep."
As Shelby pulled into the driveway, she unlocked the front door. Cass opened the back door, unbuckled Santana, and picked her up, while Santana's mother rubbed her back. After Santana's change her clothes an Cassie providing care for her daughter's sore bottom with cream, Shelby and Cass kissed Santana's forehead goodnight and left the room. Cass informed Shelby of their decision to break the news to Santana in the morning, which Shelby agreed with. Unfortunately, Santana overheard their conversation. Around 1 a.m., Santana walked into their bedroom crying and asked to sleep with her mother. Shelby comforted Santana and reassured her that no one would take her away, holding her close until she fell asleep. The next day, Shelby reminded Santana that she had to go to school.
