At the crack of dawn, around 6:45 in the morning, Cassie and Shelby entered each bedroom in the house. They made sure to approach each occupant with a gentle touch, attempting to wake them up as smoothly as possible. Cassie and Shelby were well aware of how difficult it can be to get up and ready for school, especially at this early hour. As such, they made an effort to remind everyone of the time and the need to prepare for the day ahead.
Shelby's instructions for Santana were particularly specific – she asked her to use the shower located in her and Cassie bedroom. This was likely a precautionary measure to avoid any potential conflicts or disagreements with Rachel, as they didn't want to start the day off with any negativity or punishment. Overall, Cassie and Shelby were helpful, attentive, and considerate in their approach, ensuring that everyone in the house had a smooth and stress-free start to their day.
As the sun rose, Cassie, a loving and responsible mother, began the morning routine for her family. One by one, each member of the household had their turn to take a refreshing shower and enjoy a delicious breakfast.
Once everyone was ready, Cassie asked her second youngest daughter, Tiger, to accompany Kitty and Quinn to their classes and introduce them to her friends. Santana, promptly got up from her chair and walked out of the room to put on her shoes. Kitty and Quinn followed her, eager to explore their new school.
Before they left, Shelby, one of the Mothers, informed the two teenage girls that they could stop by her classroom after each period if they required any assistance. Shelby then handed them their class schedules, revealing that Kit and Tiger had the same class together, while all three girls had the same History teacher.
Excited to start their day, Quinn and Kitty promised to see their mom in her classroom after school. With a smile, Quinn nodded her head in agreement, and they all set off to conquer the day ahead.
Shelby, the kind and responsible adult, gathered her belongings from the table and turned to her teenage companions, Quinn, Kit, and Santana. She politely instructed them to grab their bags and head out to the car. As she turned to Rachel, she inquired about the girl's plans for the day. Rachel explained that Mr. Schue had canceled Glee practice for the day because they needed to find two replacements for Quinn and Kitty. Instead, Rachel would be heading straight to Shelby's and Cassie's after school.
Shelby, being a thoughtful person, informed Rachel that she and Cassie would like to discuss some private matters with her in her home office that afternoon. She gently touched Rachel's right cheek and wished her a great day at school.
Rachel expressed her gratitude and began to gather her things as Shelby left to take the other three teenagers to school. Cassie, who was also present, offered to drive Rachel to McKinley High School and have a chat along the way.
As Shelby pulled up in the parking lot of Carmel High School, she turned to her daughters and reminded them of the importance of having each other's backs. "Girls, I want you to look out for each other while you're here at school," she said. "But I also need to make something clear: I don't want to hear any of you lying or covering up for each other."
Santana, one of Shelby's daughters, reassured her mom that they would stick together no matter what. "Mom, you don't need to worry about us," she said. "We'll always protect each other. I can't promise that we won't ever lie, but I'll make sure to show them around school and make sure they know the right thing to do..
"Shelby, the mother of three girls, gathered them in the car on their way to school. As they drove, she turned to address her daughters.
"Girls, let's keep it to a minimum," Shelby said, after receiving three nods. "I also wanted to remind you all to make Rachel feel more welcome at home and include her in your late-night talks. Of course, your mama and I know about your secret meetings. This needs to stop at midnight because I want all of you in your bedrooms at a reasonable hour, between 10 on the weekdays and 11:30 on the weekends but the curfew is still the same."
Santana, the next to the youngest of the sisters, rolled her eyes, and Kitty snorted, but both assured their mother that they understood. As they arrived at the school building, Shelby headed to her classroom, while Santana showed her sisters around and introduced them to her friends.
In the bustling hallways of McKinley High School, Rachel, Kurt, and Mercedes huddled together, deep in conversation. The topic of discussion was the recent departure of Quinn and Kitty from the New Directions team. Mercedes was worried about finding two new members who could sing as well as the ones they had lost, and Kurt echoed her concerns, emphasizing that the team was a talented bunch that could not be easily replaced.
However, Rachel seemed to have a different perspective. She appeared to be less concerned about the loss of her teammates and didn't seem to place as much value on their contributions to the team as Kurt and Mercedes did. Kurt reminded her that they were a team and needed to work together to win, but Rachel stood her ground, insisting that she cared about everyone on the team, including Quinn and Kitty, and was confident that she could still be friends with them while staying with the New Directions team for the time being.
As they parted ways, Kurt walked away, and Rachel and Mercedes continued to discuss the matter, brainstorming ideas on how to find new members for the team soon. The New Directions team had lost some valuable members, but they were determined to find replacements and win the competition this year, no matter what it took.
Rachel, who is a proactive individual, took the initiative to make the audition process easier and more accessible for interested individuals. She spent time and effort printing out the audition papers and neatly pinning them on the bulletin board in the hallway. Anyone interested in signing up for the auditions can now easily fill out the papers and submit their application. Thanks to Rachel's helpful gesture, more people can now take part in the auditions and showcase their talents.
Rachel had a particularly tiring and stressful day at school. She spent hours printing out audition papers and was excited to have her friend Cassie pick her up. As soon as Cassie arrived, they hopped into her car and began chatting about their day. Rachel expressed her disappointment that no one had signed up for the auditions, despite having put up posters all over the school. Cassie tried to lift her spirits by jokingly suggesting that she could use her intimidating presence to make other students participate. Rachel chuckled at the idea, but knew that it was not the right way to handle the situation. Instead, they both decided to try a different approach the next day. They planned on singing together in the school hallways to inspire others to join in and participate in the school performance. Rachel felt a renewed sense of hope and excitement, and she was grateful to have such a supportive friend like Cassie by her side.
Rachel had been grappling with a difficult decision for some time. She had something important to tell her friend Shelby, but wasn't sure about the best time and place to do it. Seeking counsel, Rachel turned to her friend mom Cassie who she knew she could rely on for sound advice. Cassie, who was always happy to help, listened attentively as Rachel explained her dilemma. After giving the matter some thought, Cassie suggested that Rachel should reveal the news to Shelby when they were all together in Shelby's office later that afternoon. Rachel was relieved to hear this, as she had been feeling anxious about how to approach the situation. Feeling grateful for her friend's guidance, Rachel took out her phone to check for any messages, happy that they had come up with a plan that would help her navigate this tricky situation.
After twenty minutes of walking, Cassie and Rachel finally entered their house. Rachel immediately went to her room and put away her belongings, and then sat down at her desk to do her homework. As she worked, she turned to her younger sisters, Kitty and Quinn, and asked them how their first day at school had gone.
Quinn replied with excitement, "It was good! I had mom as my last period. She's tough, you know. Nobody in the class dared to stand up when she walked out of the room." Quinn went on to explain how the class was structured and what they covered on the first day. She also shared her overall feelings about the class and how she was looking forward to the rest of the semester.
Kitty chimed in with her own experience, "Well, I had mom for fourth period too, and it was the same way. She had us write a five-page essay, and most of my classmates groaned. It was actually kind of funny." The two sisters continued to discuss their first day of school, sharing stories and laughing together
After finishing their homework, a group of friends decided to relax and listen to some music in Santana's bedroom. As they were enjoying their favorite tunes, there was a sudden knock on the door. To their surprise, it was Shelby, their mom who they welcomed inside. However, Shelby requested that they turn down the music a bit, and they obliged.
Rachel, who was one of the friends, noticed that Shelby seemed a bit serious and asked her if everything was okay. Shelby then requested to have a private conversation with Rachel. Santana quickly turned down the music, and Rachel left the room with Shelby. They headed to Shelby's office to have a conversation in private.
Once they arrived, Rachel took a seat while Shelby and Cassie sat down on either side of her. Shelby spoke softly, acknowledging that she knew Rachel was going through a tough time with everything happening at school and at home. She wanted Rachel to know that she and Cassie would always be there for her, no matter what happened.
Cassie chimed in, agreeing with Shelby and reassuring Rachel that they would always have her back. Rachel felt grateful for their support and knew that she could count on them to help her through any challenges that came her way.
As they talked, Shelby asked Rachel if her dad had called her since she came to her house. Rachel replied that he had not, and the conversation continued from there
As Shelby and Rachel continued their heartfelt conversation, Shelby expressed her sympathy towards Rachel's situation and conveyed her understanding of the sensitivity of the topic. Her kind words were accompanied by a soft and caring tone, which made Rachel feel more comfortable in opening up about her personal struggles.During their discussion, Shelby suggested that Rachel's parents needed to do better when it came to raising a teenage daughter. She pointed out the importance of open communication, trust, and understanding in building a healthy relationship between parents and their children. Shelby's tone was gentle yet firm, conveying her concern for Rachel's well-being without being judgmental.
After listening attentively to Rachel's story, Shelby and Cassie encouraged her to talk to her dad about how she was feeling. They discussed various ways Rachel could communicate her needs to her dad, including writing a letter or having a phone call. Cassie also joined in and asked Rachel if her father had mentioned when he planned to call her. Rachel replied that he usually called her a week later, on Wednesdays at 8 pm.
When Rachel mentioned that her dad often left her alone for extended periods, Shelby and Cassie looked at each other with concern. Shelby asked Rachel to elaborate on the situation. Rachel explained how she had been feeling lonely and neglected, with no parental guidance or support. She had let her friends stay with her for a while and had a wild party at her home, which had attracted the attention of the police.
Shelby and Cassie listened with empathy and understanding, without being judgmental. They urged Rachel to be careful in the future and to surround herself with positive influences. Shelby explained that staying with them would offer Rachel a safe and supportive environment, but that there would also be rules and consequences. Shelby explained that while Rachel stayed with them, she would need to abide by certain rules, such as a curfew of 11 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
Rachel asked how long she would be grounded if she broke the rules. Cassie explained that it all depended on the situation, but they would ensure that there were consequences for breaking the rules. Shelby emphasized that these rules were in place to ensure Rachel's safety and well-being. She also stated that they were open to discussing any concerns or issues that Rachel might have.
As the conversation drew to a close, Rachel felt more understood and validated. She had a clearer idea of how to approach her situation and talk to her dad about her needs. Most importantly, she felt relieved to have a supportive and caring environment to stay in. Before leaving, Rachel talked to them about the glee club audition, and Shelby advised her to have patience and wait for someone to audition for her. Rachel hugged them and left the room, feeling grateful for their support
As the sun began to set, the family of six gathered in their cozy home, exhausted from the day's activities. The parents immediately began working on making dinner, peeling vegetables, and seasoning the meat. The tantalizing aroma of spices and sizzling food soon filled the house, making everyone's mouth water.
Meanwhile, the four teenagers headed to Santana's bedroom, where they had set up a mini recording studio. They spent a good hour singing and harmonizing to their favorite songs, their voices blending together in perfect harmony. They laughed and joked around, enjoying each other's company.
As the meal was being prepared, Cassie, the mother, called out to the teenagers to let them know that dinner was almost ready. They eagerly made their way to the dining table, excited to share a meal with their family. The table was set with the best plates, silverware, and glasses, making everyone feel special.
As they ate, the room was filled with a sense of warmth and togetherness. They talked about their day, sharing stories and updates on their lives. They discussed their plans for tomorrow, with each person excitedly sharing what they were looking forward to. The parents listened attentively, nodding and smiling, proud of their children's achievements.
As they ate, the clinking of utensils against plates was the only sound that could be heard. It was a peaceful moment, a time to simply enjoy each other's company and be grateful for the love and support that surrounded them. Even the family dog, curled up under the table, seemed to sense the contentment in the air.
After dinner, they all got ready for bed, hugging and kissing each other goodnight. While the teenagers retreated to their respective bedrooms, chatting and laughing as they went. As they drifted off to sleep, they were filled with a sense of love and belonging, grateful for the blessings that life had bestowed upon them
