The next morning, at 7:15 am, Quinn's alarm blared, jolting her out of sleep. Groggily, she reached out and threw a pillow at the alarm clock, causing it to topple to the floor. She groaned and turned back around, hoping to catch a few more minutes of sleep. Meanwhile, Rachel, already dressed for school, informed Quinn that her alarm had gone off. Quinn, still lying in bed, let out another groan in response, turning the other way and pulling her covers over her. Rachel left the room and saw Cassie about to go into Santana's room.

"Um, Cassie, I think you need to wake up Quinn first," Rachel said.

Cassie stopped and looked at Rachel, then closed Santana's bedroom door. "Why do I need to wake up Quinnie bear? I heard the alarm clock go off in your room, so she should be getting ready for school," Cassie responded.

"She's still lying in bed after she threw a pillow at the alarm clock, knocking it onto the floor," Rachel said.

"Go ahead and head downstairs and tell Shelby to wake up Tiger," Cassie instructed. After Rachel nodded her head, she went downstairs and did what Cassie asked her to do. Rachel filled in Shelby about what happened in her bedroom. Shelby told Rachel to finish cooking the French toast and bacon until she got back and left the kitchen.

Cassie stepped into Quinn and Rachel's bedroom, switched on the light, and drew the curtains open. She approached Quinn's side of the room, gently pulling back the covers. "Quinn, is there a reason you're hesitant to get out of bed and prepare for school?" Cassie asked with concern.

"I just don't feel like going to Mom's class today. She's giving us extra work, and it's tough, especially because everyone in my class attended Carmen's party," Quinn explained

"She loves you girls so much that it hurts her because of how restless all of you were being when the three of you went to Carmen's party, knowing fully well that it is unsupervised. And we told your sister no, and she should've understood why we told her no. You probably convinced her to go to it, and she agreed to it. The only reason why you're not grounded is because you called me," Cassie told her, "but you're still doing extra chores just like the rest of them," she added.

"I understand, but I don't understand why the both of you get angry when there is beer or alcohol involved," Quinn said, wondering.

"It is because I know what alcohol does to a person, and trust me, it doesn't help you in life, it damages you," Cassie said.

"What do you mean?" Quinn asked her mama.

"Cassie expressed her past struggles with drinking to her daughter Quinn, emphasizing the importance of avoiding similar mistakes. Quinn reassured her mother that she wouldn't follow in her footsteps. Cassie hugged her daughter and encouraged her to get ready for school, promising to talk to Shelby about being more lenient. Quinn got up, gathered her clothes, and prepared for the day as Cassie left the bedroom..

As Cassie assisted Quinn to her feet, Shelby entered Santana's room and found her already out of bed. "I'm already up, mom, no need to wake me," Santana said confidently.

Shelby arched her eyebrow and approached her daughter. "Let's speak to each other respectfully without the attitude," she said firmly.

Santana folded her arms and rolled her eyes. "Can you please leave my room so I can get dressed, Mom?" she retorted.

"You're pushing it, Tiger," Shelby said gently. "I don't know what's going on with you lately because you have been lashing out at me, but your behavior needs to change," looking at her daughter with concern.

"Mom, this lecture can wait," Santana dismissed her, cutting her off. "I have to get dressed for school.

No, this lecture Is happening now, and you're going to listen to what I have to say, whether you like it or not. Shelby, grab her hand gently. I walk towards the girl's bed and sit down, and Santana sits down beside her. I know you're upset with me for grounding you longer than Quinn because of Carmen's party.

San nodded her head as Shelby continued speaking, "Your mom and I have our reasons for what we did, and we think it's fair because you and Kitty have been acting out. But it doesn't give you the right to treat me like I'm your enemy. I'm your mother." Shelby looked at her daughter and said, "You, my darling daughter, are going to stay after-school with me and write lines until 4:30 to reflect on your behavior." Santana groaned, not liking the idea. Her mother then gave her a choice, "It's either writing lines or doing the chores I assign you.

"Hey there, kiddo! Get ready to go, sweetie. Your mama will take you to school with your sisters in a little bit". Shelby said as she kissed the top of the girl's head and left the grumpy teenager to get dressed.

After everyone got dressed and eating they chatted with one another but Santana was quiet because she's upset with her mom. So she ate quietly. During breakfast in her mothers kept glancing at her In Cassie told the girls to get your backpacks in meet her at the car. Rachel rode with Shelby.

During the car ride, Rachel was lost in her own thoughts, strategizing about how to sneak back into glee club rehearsal without getting caught. Shelby assured Rachel that the papers would arrive in the mail that afternoon. The petite brunette smiled and said, "I can't wait." Shelby returned the smile and told her to have a great day at school, watching the teenager as she entered the school building. Shelby then drove to Carmel High School.

San, what is wrong with you?" Quinn asked her sister with concern in her voice. "This isn't like you to give mom the silent treatment while we're walking in the hallway at school."

"Mom is being a jerk, that's why I'm not talking to her," Santana said, lashing out at her sister. "She told me this morning that I have to stay after school to write lines."

"That is absurd," Quinn said, shocked.

Santana nodded her head in agreement as she made her way to her first class of the day. Meanwhile, Quinn hurried to her own classroom, feeling the pressure of making it on time. "Don't be late," she reminded herself as she quickened her pace.

Santana, with a look of determination, nodded her head in agreement as she made her way to her first class of the day. Her mind focused on the day ahead, she maneuvered through the crowded hallways of the school. Meanwhile, Quinn, a sense of urgency in her steps, hurried to her own classroom, feeling the pressure of making it on time. "Don't be late," she reminded herself as she quickened her pace, the sound of her shoes echoing in the hallway. She chatted animatedly with her friends, exchanging quick words and laughs before class was set to begin.

Over at McKinley High School, Rachel sat at her desk, her brow furrowed in concentration as she carefully answered the questions on her Spanish test. The quiet hum of students writing filled the room as she focused on the task at hand, determined to do her best.

Hey everyone, Mr. Schue was out today, so Miss Holiday stepped in for him. Rachel and Kurt were rehearsing for glee club, and Miss Holiday greeted the class, expressing her happiness to see everyone, despite a few absences. Rachel confidently emphasized the need to focus on the upcoming Regional competition, stressing the importance of non-stop practice to secure a winning setlist.

Rachel, we have had this discussion before about being rude, but I understand your reasoning of wanting to win. So, what songs do all of you have in mind? Miss Holiday asked the whole New Directions team.

"If I may, I would like to sing Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You,'" Mercedes asked. Miss Holiday nodded, "The floor is all yours." Brad started playing as Mercedes stood up from her chair and began to sing.

If I should stay,

I would only be in your way

So I'll go, but I know

I'll think of you every step of the way

And I will always love you

I will always love you

You, my darling you Hmm

Bittersweet memories

That is all I'm taking with me

So, goodbye Please, don't cry

We both know I'm not what you, you need

And I will always love you

I will always love you

I hope life treats you kind

And I hope you have all you've dreamed of

And I wish to you, joy and happiness

But above all this, I wish you love

And I will always love you

I will always love you

I will always love you

I will always love you

I will always love you

I, I will always love you, you

Darling I love you

Oh will always

I will always love you

Everyone was mesmerized by Mercedes' voice and clapped for her.

Rachel went up next and asked Miss Holiday to sing a duet with her. They sang "Nowadays / Hot Honey Rag" together. The lyrics go like this:

"You can like the life you're living

You can live the life you like

You can even marry Harry, but mess around with Ike

And that's good

Isn't it? Grand

Isn't it? Great

Isn't it? Swell

Isn't it? Fun

Isn't it? But nothing stays

In fifty years or so

It's gonna change, you know

But, oh, it's heaven

Nowadays

[Instrumental]

And all that jazz!

"Everyone clap for them when they were finish.

"Quinn stopped by her Mother's dance class at Carmel High during her free period to talk to her about her sister Santana's weird behavior. Santana is mad at their mom for grounding her, among other things. Cassie mentioned that she noticed Santana's behavior this morning and said she would talk to her and thank her for informing her about Santana's well-being.

Santana tended to avoid talking to her mom when they crossed paths at school, as she preferred to focus on attending her classes, completing assignments, and asking questions about the lessons.

After school, Cassie noticed Santana's somber expression and promptly decided to ask her about it. They made their way to Santana's dance studio, where Santana opened up about her frustrations. She confided in her mother about feeling unfairly treated compared to Quinn and expressed jealousy over her mother's close relationship with Rachel, particularly since she didn't get along well with Rachel herself. Cassie comforted Santana, advising her to have an open and honest conversation with Shelby about her feelings and assuring her that things would improve.

Cassie added, "She won't be upset with you because we love all four of you equally."

"I know, Mama. I just can't help it. I will talk to her," Santana said confidently before walking out of the dance studio, with Cassie walking her to Shelby's classroom. Cassie then told her wife that she needed to talk to Tiger in private and kissed Santana and Shelby before leaving the classroom. Quinn and Kitty were waiting for her inside the car, and she drove to McKinley to pick up Rachel, with the two of them chatting about their day as they listened to the radio on their way home.

Santana settled into her chair at her desk, and Shelby approached, pulling up a chair in front of her. "I'm sorry, Tiger, for snapping at you this morning. I should've handled the situation better and asked you how you're feeling," Shelby said kindly, reaching out and holding the teenager's hand.

"I'm sorry too, Mom. I shouldn't snap at you either. I was just mad at you," Santana said honestly.

"I understand you're mad at me, but I still don't know why," Shelby asked, her concern evident.

"I'm upset with you because you've been spending a lot of time with Rachel and getting along with her, knowing how I feel about her," Santana said firmly.

"Sweetie, you know Rachel's parents have been leaving her home alone for months, only calling her once a day on Wednesdays and not worrying about her well-being whatsoever. That is why Rachel wants to be on top of everything she does in school. I'm sorry if it makes you feel bad that I was spending quality time with her because I'm trying to develop a bond with her like I have with the three of you, and I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings or anything because I love all of you the same way, and I'm not going to give up on her or the rest of you. You're in my life forever," Shelby said.

"Why does it sound like you're defending Berry's actions?" Santana question her mother.

"I'm not defending her, Tiger. It's just that I understand her more after I spend one-on-one time with her. You and I are going to spend one-on-one time together and turn your frown into a smile," Shelby softened her tone

Santana started to feel a little better after having a heartfelt conversation with her mom. Her mom had given her a task of writing several lines, and she was required to fill up four pages before she could move on to anything else. Mrs. Corcoran, their teacher, had left the classroom and upon returning, found Santana diligently working on her assignment. She reminded Santana that they would be leaving in 30 minutes and she needed to finish her lines. Santana replied with a respectful "yes Ma'am" and managed to complete the task in just 20 minutes, handing it to Mrs. Corcoran. After checking her work, Mrs. Corcoran complimented her and asked if she had any other homework. Santana mentioned having history homework to do at home.

Later, as they were leaving, her mom assured her that she would help her with her history homework once they got home. Santana grabbed her backpack, carefully placing her tablet inside, and then walked out of the classroom with her mom. As they made their way through the hallway and out of the school building, Shelby, her mom, put her arm around Santana, showing her support as they headed towards the car. Once inside, Shelby drove them home.

Quinn and Kitty warmly greeted their mother as she entered the house. Shelby passed her purse to Santana, who then went to the kitchen to start her homework and put away her mom's purse. Cassie was in the kitchen preparing dinner when Santana walked in and requested a drink. "Sure, tiger," she said, pouring her a glass of juice and passing it to her. "Thanks, mama," Santana replied. Shelby chatted with Quinn and Kitty, then checked their homework. She asked Kitty to redo her algebra assignment and, after some grumbling, Kitty headed back to the kitchen. Shelby praised Quinn for her excellent work and encouraged her to read her book. Quinn followed her instructions. Shelby then checked in on Rachel and found her working on a puzzle at her desk in her room. She then went to the kitchen to help Kitty and Santana with their homework assignments.

After completing their homework, Kitty and Santana headed out to the backyard, while Shelby and Cassie took a leisurely stroll in the neighborhood to enjoy the cool evening. As they walked, they engaged in a heartfelt conversation about Santana's jealousy of Rachel. Shelby assured her wife that she would make a conscious effort to spend one-on-one time with Tiger to ensure she didn't feel left out. Reflecting on the situation, Shelby regretfully admitted she hadn't noticed earlier, but her wife comforted her, assuring her that it was good she shared it now and they would work it out.

Later, as they returned inside, Shelby could smell the inviting aroma of vegetable soup. She asked Cassie what she was cooking, and Cassie replied that she had made vegetable soup, emphasizing the importance of everyone in the house eating their vegetables. Shelby set the dining room table while Cassie called the four teenagers to join them for dinner. The family gathered around the table, enjoying their meal and engaging in lively conversation.

After dinner, the girls dutifully completed their assigned chores before coming together to work on a 500-piece puzzle at the table for several hours. Their laughter and chatter filled the room as they worked on the intricate design. Following this, they spent some time in their mom's dance studio, where she taught them a few dance moves and led them in a relaxing yoga session.

As the evening drew to a close, they all took a refreshing shower before heading to bed at 9 pm, ready to take on the next day.
