Location: In front of Gate, Ginza, Tokyo, Japan...
It was cold winter in Japan. The first thing that Pina saw was the various tall buildings. On the topic of grand structures, The Falmartian Girls considered the Imperial Palace, the Senate building, and various other military strongholds to be quite impressive, so to them, even walking down Ginza must have struck them dumb with awe.
Amaterasu: Welcome to my country, dear guests.
She proudly annouced it. Having these medieval idiots seeing modern architectures for the first time was enjoyable. The rest of Supernatural Girls were also loved their reactions. Although, even with the goddess's smug, she still has that red stingy marked on her ear after Inari gave her an ear pulled, along with Kaguya. It sure was embarrassing, but Amaterasu tried to keep it cool. Her charisma was on the line and it's a number one priority.
Standing there, Pina's and Bozes' hearts were deeply shaken by the sights before them. They were not only one who marveled by it. Lelei, Tuka and Rory were staring with eyes wide open, oblivious to the cold even though they stood at the middle of the city in the winter.
As they were done viewing the structures, Itami, Terry, and Min-Jae went to the sentry post where he and the other team leaders filling out the necessary paperworks.
Tuka: Ahhh~, It's cold out here.
Kuribayashi: I told you!
Itami: You okay? I can get you a coat.
Tuka: No, I'm fine.
The elf girl shivers from the cold winter. Despite her refusal, a warm coat jacket just flopped on top of her head which surprised her. She took the jacket from her head as she turned around and found out who did that. It was one of Min-Jae's teammates.
Hyun-Seok: You need it more than I do, miss.
Tuka: *Concern* Eh, but what about you?
Hyun-Seok: Relax, Japan and korea have the same season. I'm used to the cold.
She looked down at the jacket on her hands before she smiled and thanked him. As the team leaders was about to finish their paperwork, a voice called out to them from behind the girls, just as they were about to leave the post. Turning around, he saw a group of black-suited men. At their head stood their leader, a middle-aged man.
Komakado: I am Komakado, from Intel HQ. I've been instructed to escort you.
Itami: You're with the Public Safety?
Komakado chuckled for a bit, thinking that Itami get the gist. But it was just a random guess from Itami. The middle-aged man then turn his attention toward the Supernatural Girls.
Komakado: You there, if I'm not mistaken from the reports by the other side of the Gate, which one of you is the great Omikami Amaterasu and Ookami Inari?
Among the group, two girls raised their hand for Komakado to see.
Inari: That would be us.
Looking at their appearances, he laughed. The way this man laughed was something like a mockery. He expected them having a godly appearance, but what's in front of them was nothing more than a girl with cute attires.
Komakado: Hihihihi, I'm sorry, but i hardly believe that. If you show some proof, then I might be-
Not finishing his sentences, Inari immediately made her fox ears and tails appeared so suddenly. As for the Sun Goddess, she had no idea what she could show proof. however, that didn't stop her from trying. Using her solar power, she recreates her sun crown on her head. But unlike her real crown, it was translucent since it's just fire. Komakado and his bodyguards went silent upon their revealed with their eyes widen. They bowed and giving the two goddesses such respect.
Komakado: Amaterasu-sama, I sincerely apologize for my doubt about you. It is an honor for you and your team to visit us. Please, is there anything that would make up your mind?
The man and his bodyguards were shaken to the core. It was stupid of them for not believing their own supreme goddess. The goddesses chuckled before they hide their identities. By identities, it means that Inari hid her fox ears and tails, while Amaterasu hid her replicated crown.
Amaterasu: That's funny of you. And no, we only need you to believe what you saw.
They raised their heads and nodded. Looking at the two girls in front of them, they never knew they were this young women. They expected the two to be much older, but no. Komakado then turned his attention to Itami who had been standing there with the Falmartian Girls and other two team leaders.
Komakado: Ahem, anyway, Itami, I did a little reading on you.
He pulled out a notebook and flipped through the pages.
Komakado: You had the second-lowest grades in your class during officer training, and only avoided last place because another trainee got injured. After graduation and assignment, you rated "Just barely passing." Your CO got pissed off and threw you Ranger Officer School, which you finished, somehow. For some reason, you were transferred to Narashino after that. Poor personal evaluations kept you at Second Lieutenant, but after the Ginza incident, you were promoted to First Lieutenant... At least, that's what I was told.
Komakado recited Itami's history from his black leather book before closing it.
Itami: ... You sure done your homework.
Komakado: *chuckle* Kukuku, Slacker. Otaku. Your reputation on post is horrible. Hahahaha, look at you, aren't you ashamed in front of the supreme goddess? The least you could do is becoming a shu-
*Thud*
He got hit right in the face by something, and it was hard. The one who hit him was Amaterasu herself with her purse. komakado was confused of why she did that. The looks from her face was like telling "What did you just say about me?"
Komakado: Y-Your Highness, did I say something wrong?
Amaterasu: ... It feels like you insulted me and kaguya.
Komakado: What?
Inari: You'll find out soon enough. Just not yet.
Her words just added a new mystery for Komakado and his men. For now, they didn't think too much about it, unless they'd rather get hit by the Sun Goddess herself.
Komakado: So, Itami, how did someone like you get into 'S' ?
"S", there was a hidden meaning behind that single word. It means "Special Forces." And just at this moment, Kuribayashi freaked out. Others, they were just watching her suffering from accepting the harsh reality.
Kuribayashi: Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~~~!
Aiden: Is she gonna be ok?
Yong-Sik: Considering she had discovered that her goddess was a shut-in, I don't know.
Bailey: Just like they said, "The more you learn, the more you know" even though it doesn't what you expected.
Itami sighed and sagged his shoulders after he heard the question.
Itami: Did you know, if a colony of ants gets rid of the laziest, another one will just start being lazy instead? So lazy people are necessary? I don't know. But when my CO was yelling at me, i told him about that, and... You were transferred to the Special Forces Group. I was just trying to argue for the hell of it, though.
Komakado: Hehehehe, well, if people like you are taking it easy, that might mean everything works out.
Just as things was about to calm, A shrill cry of despair rang out from the side, like a girl who had been abandoned by her lover. That cry was Kuribayashi.
Kuribayashi: Ahhhhhhh~~~~! It can't be! Tell me it's not true!
Her face was pale, and that was not a joke or exaggeration. To her, not only she had discovered her supreme goddess was a shut-in, but the fact that Itami was a Ranger was seemingly irreconcilable paradox, and now she learned he was from the Special Forces. Three times! Three times of hard truth that she had received. Learning that fact plunged her into the deepest despair, and she wanted to curse this world and scream her anger to her enemies.
Komakado couldn't help but laugh as he saw this. He tried his best to keep his voice down, but in the end, he was still laughing while grabbing his belly. After a while, Komakado managed to calm down and catch his breath. He straightened himself up, and then saluted to Itami.
Komakado: I've got a lot of respect for someone who can play the slacker among bunch of worker ants and has supreme goddess's respect.
Later on, the microbus from Intelligence Branch has arrived and they boarded in. Kuribayashi covered her face with her hands and tried to deny reality. She radiated an aura of gloom and despair. The interior of the bus was supposed to be spacious for 23 people, but since they brought 24 people, it really wasn't that big. So, they had to call another one for an extra seats.
Kuribayashi sat in the back seats, while Itami was all the way in front, sitting beside Terry and Min-jae, in order to avoid being contaminated by the aura of misery around her. Rory, Piña and the others did not dislike Kuribayashi, and Rory herself was actually favorably inclined toward her, but they decided to cluster near the front in order to keep their distance from Kuribayashi. Her exaggerated reaction was somewhat problematic.
On bus number 2, it was a special bus for 10 Supernatural Girls.
Driver: Where to, sir?
Itami: Somewhere to eat, please.
The driver informed his superiors about where they were going, then started up the two microbuses and set off.
The area surrounding the Ginza side of the "Gate" was under the jurisdiction of the UN, and some people called it the "Ginza Garrison" or something like that. However, once their vehicle left the restricted zone, they were back in the heart of Ginza again. The girls from the Special Region could not help but stare in awe at the sights which now surrounded them.
Although, that was inevitable. The reason was because after the Ginza Incident, the shopping districts in Ginza now sported all manner of shiny decorations, festival lights and Christmas trees to draw in customers, and the glass display windows showcased name-brand clothing, expensive jewellery, and all the things which would draw a girl's attention.
On bus No. 2, the Supernatural Girls stared at the wonderful city. Since Kaguya had never gone to the Outside World before, she was fascinated how beautiful it was, seeing with her own eyes. For Junko, Hecatia, Yakumo Family, and Shinki, they rarely went to the Outside World. But they had to admit, the humans did a good job on attracting people.
Amaterasu saw the Christmas trees had been decorated and then asked Jophiel.
Amaterasu: Jophiel-san, what date it is today?
Jophiel: 23rd of December, miss Amaterasu.
Shinki: Ah, two days before His birthday, right, Sister?
Jophiel: Fufufu, Indeed.
Amaterasu: I wonder if everyone back at the base are preparing for the party. I wish they brought drinks.
Inari: Your Highness, please remember keeping your manners when visiting someone else's party. I don't want to see you drunk again.
Timeskip
At Ushinoya Restaurant, they had ordered their foods and drinks on their tables. Before they came here, they had to choose carefully which meal they should order since they were given with a small budget. Luckily for them, someone got their back covered. Inari brought her Credit/Debit card and told them to order anything they want. The payment was a success with a single swipe once they ordered their meals.
Tomita: Inari-sama sure has a lot of money.
Itami: Well, what do you expect from someone who is working for a Royal Family?
Tomita: Guess so.
With the American, they were too focused on enjoying the delicious food... Well, only one who didn't.
Terry (English): Aiden, pass me the salt.
Aiden (English): Sure.
He passed the salt to Terry. He noticed Bailey staring at the Supernatural Girls as they were eating. He was kinda distracted.
Terry (English): Bail, you okay?
Hearing his friend's voice, he snapped back to reality.
Bailey (English): Huh? oh, yeah I'm good.
Not conviced, Terry just raised a doubtful eyebrow. Bailey finally gave up since it would be useless to hide it.
Bailey (English): Alright, fine... I was wondering if I could... You know, dating one of them.
Terry spit his food and burst into laugh,which it drawed everyone's attentions. Bailey panicked and tried to shut his leader up by covering his mouth. However, he stopped laughing before mocking Bailey.
Terry (English): Yeah, good luck with that!
Bailey (English): Tsk, Whatever, man.
After their meal, the groups continued on to the Yokota Air Base. It took them an hour and a half to get to there. The base were filled with military personnels running around in every direction just to keep up with their time. Not only that, but the personnels were also from different nations, mostly from NATO. Ever since the Gate appeared, NATO, ASEAN, EU, and more had keeping up on their tracks to cooperate with each other to prevent another Gate to appeared like in Ginza.
The groups stepped out from the buses as they were led to the transport aircraft. Once they were near the aircraft, the Falmartian Girls stopped and were baffled by mere presence of the aircraft. The aircraft was none other than American aircraft, C-17 Globemaster. To them, it was a monster, built to carry a hundred people or couple of heavy vehicles inside.
Bozes: Princess... W-What do you think is that?
Pina: I-I don't know. Some sort of fat bird?
The two girls' heart beats were pounding fast from seeing a civilization whom has a capability of creating skyscrapers and technologies were too much for them. As they continued to watch, the Supernatural Girls walk passed them, heading towards the big bird.
Yukari: It's not even the biggest in the world, darling.
The Gap Youkai spoke when she passed by them. Her words sent a shiver on their skins when she said it was not even the biggest in the world. The girls couldn't comprehend what would the biggest one were, yet. They shook that thought, not daring to imagined it.
The groups were now inside the C-17 and sat on the floor, waiting for the aircraft to take-off. In the cockpit, the pilots were making a few checks while reporting it to the Control Tower.
C-17 Pilot 1 (English) (Radio): Control Tower, all systems are checked. Ready for take-off, over.
Control Tower (English) (Radio): Copy that, you are clear for take-off. Be advice, you are transporting VVIPs, make sure they are safely arrived.
C-17 Pilot 2 (English) (Radio): Copy, over and out.
Cutting off the communication from the Control Tower, the aircraft began to taxied out to the runway. The C-17 soon made a full throttle until finally, the aircraft was lifted into the air. Since the C-17 carried their 10 most important guests (not the Falmart locals), it had to be escorted by 20 different aircrafts from other bases in Japan, just for a safe measures. 18 Fighters were the F-35, F-22, F-16, and F-15 within their own squadrons, KC-135 for the air refueling, and E-3 Sentry for the AWACS. Control Tower had given the C-17 a callsign, "Apocalypse 1".
E-3 Sentry Pilot (English) (Radio): This is the AWACS "Highpoint". All aircraft, keep your distances. We will be making a few stops before we arrived in New York. Apocalypse 1 are currently transporting our most important guests. Stay sharp.
Squadrons of Fighter Jet Pilots (All different languages) (Radio): Copy/Wilco/Understood.
KC-135 Pilot (English) (Radio): Air refuel on stand by.
