In this emotional Spooks-inspired story, Harry receives a farewell letter from Ruth, who reveals she's leaving to start a new life. She urges him to move on with the happiness he's found, though both are haunted by the love they were never able to fully realize.

I found this AU fic languishing on my computer and thought I'd dust it off, spruce it up a bit, and share it.
