Long time, no see! I've been doubtful about continuing to publish on this site, seeing as how it has become overrun with bots and fake traffic, users that are not even real humans. But fuck it, I might as well put one last story up here for somebody to see.
So, I've been thinking about something, that might profoundly affect my writing.
A shift in genre and style, so to speak.
Pay attention, because I'm gonna be trying something new. Something downright controversial and contentious, bound to piss off a lot of people. But there's no progress in life without risks, and pissing off loads of people online with possible bad takes is acceptable, especially since this is a fanfiction site.
Shout-out to DocuDubery on YouTube for making the best satirical and comedically innacurate documentaries I've seen since watching the Borat movie. The guy is an absolute legend, because of how he mashes up obvious fiction and real-world history to make you laugh, while constructing a surprisingly cohesive plot narrative (he even has a TIMELINE OF EVENTS for these historical mockumentaries.)
Now, onto my the elaboration behind my latest presentation, one that drastically differs from everything else I've written...
Current events suck. There's no doubt about it, the last 6 years or so have seen instances of bad news stack up like shaved discarded pubic hairs and armpit fuzz.
From King Kung Flu the 19th at the very beginning of the new decade, to Mad Big Bad Vlad declaring war on his closest neighbor in Eastern Europe, and the fucking Gems and Jihadists of Jerusalem engaging in yet another Religious Turf War, not to mention the winged shadow of the Red Fascist Dragon looming over the South China Sea, as well as a bunch of other retarded happenings that ruined the lives of many, (mass shootings, COUGH, Orange Man Resurgent, BELCH, Taliban Takeover, FART, big dick natural disasters and weather weapon conspiracies, OUCH,) the 2020s seem to be the Devil's way of reminding us that he somehow exists.
Provided, chains of unfortunate happenings like these have come and gone in the past, with the continuous cycle of history being a well known fact... but it honestly feels like we're watching the civilized and enlightened world that countless people in the Greatest Generation sacrificed everything to build, devolve back into degeneracy, bigotry and anarchy.
Our forebears' selfless sacrifices are being undone, progress is eroding, and modern civilization might as well be one gigantic circus, upside down and inside out, filled with sad, depressed clowns laughing to cope with the hard times.
ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE, MOTHERFUCKERS!
But there is a positive side to all of this. The problems plaguing society right now are an endless source of comedy in the form of ridicule, satire and mockery. We may as well live our best lives until life simply isn't worth living anymore, and if I'm personally going to die horribly, I might as well try to laugh in the process.
Let's don our masks in mockery of the world and embrace absurdism, because nothing really matters... why worry about it? Just grab some popcorn and enjoy the show while you still can!
Okay, that's enough ranting from my perspective. Time to get to the actual fanfic here.
I wanted to create a saga where the battle between good and evil in fiction and fantasy begins to bleed into the real world.
While still staying true to my method of writing, and hopefully not plagiarizing anyone else's plot structure, if they've written about this same concept.
Here's some really unnecessary exploration of what this could possibly mean:
On the Internet, if you've gone terminally deep enough, you might have heard of a guy going by the name of Chris-Chan, infamous for his lewd webcomics and for being a convicted mentally ill rapist.
This well-documented crank also came up with a genuinely fascinating conspiracy theory called "The Dimensional Merge," a hypothetical apocalyptic event where the universe we know is assimilated by another version of our universe where all fictional characters exist, physically and literally, leading to all manner of unforeseen possibilities opening up.
Now, here's my take on this trope, without spoiling too much:
Essentially, humans in our timeline fuck things up so hard in the near future, late 2020s to 2030s, that the fourth wall gets completely demolished... although, there of course needs to be a detailed reason why this great collision of worlds happens. A driving catalyst and an essential plot device for our newest era in hiSTORY will also be required, as well as decent media literacy.
But fear not, for I, Dr. Spud, will guide you into this wretched hive of scum and villainy! Whether or not I look like a clueless idiot for creating and distributing this abomination, that's something I'm not afraid of. Why?
Because this story is overwhelmingly meant to get a message across, tapping into sensitive politics and philosophy. Yes, I'm being quite preachy here. But every tale has its moral lesson.
Oh, yeah, and one more thing. The fictional material in the timeline where this scenario takes place isn't in the same canon as the stuff we know and love right now.
Yeah, FUCK canonically accurate events and characters. I'm making my own canon here, and it'll influence the 21st century in ways I would have liked more- like Disney Company making better decisions with its intellectual properties, and Star Wars sharing the spotlight with other science fiction and fantasy cinema.
So, without further ado, let's dive headfirst into this epic clusterfuck. Sorry I had to rant beforehand.

Prologue: A Nightmare Made Real
It is near the end of the year 2030 A.D, and an unthinkable catastrophe has arrived to drive us to hateful madness: The Third World War has begun, and mankind's future looks grim indeed, as the forces of fascism and all other forms of tyranny pour out of Russia and China, along with their authoritarian allies across the globe, with the sole purpose of establishing a new world order, one where true freedom and justice is extinct.
The Axis of Evil had been reborn...
Taiwan was the first domino to fall in Imperial China's new quest for global domination, and from there, things only got worse.
Cyberattacks and hacking attempts targeting crucial infrastructure and digital assets preceded the absolute havoc that was to be unleashed, resulting in widespread shortages in essential services and goods, as well as the spread of anarchy and general public panic.
Using the same "island hopping" strategy that the United States did in the Second World War, the Chinese Navy destroyed the bulk of the American military's Pacific Front war material within the span of just a few weeks, a speedy pace which was only possible with the unprecedented destructive capabilities of modern weapons.
Not that the USA was in much of a position to fight back, despite having the technological means to engage the Chinese horde on equal footing- the country itself was deeply divided by political turmoil, and government incompetence and improper handling of the crisis ultimately spelled disaster for the American military forces, who were totally unprepared for an amphibious assault on their own soil.
Meanwhile, on the Atlantic coast, Russia has overrun all of Europe and taken advantage of the boiling animosity between the American political factions, in order to launch its own amphibious blitzkrieg attack, compounding the damage done by the riots and civilian skirmishes that were breaking out all across the continental United States.
Other nations' militaries that had a bone to pick with the United States of America joined in the resulting slaughter, with the invaders gunning down not-so-defenseless civilians who were already attacking their own neighbors.
These atrocities piled up, until nearly half the country was subjected to a surge of horrifying carnage and violence that was essentially a supersized version of the Rape of Nanking, or the grand massacres organized by Nazi Germany.
In countless acts of grotesque, psychotic cruelty and genocidal insanity, some 150 million Americans perished during the invasion of their homeland by the agents of tyranny incarnate.
Across the world, many other democracies and free societies were being brutally subjugated in the same way, experiencing their own versions of the Holocaust or the Great Soviet Purge, having been greatly weakened and divided amongst themselves before the real fighting began.
With the impending collapse of the Western world on display, the era of democratic change, nonviolent protest and liberal thinking was coming to an end. A new dark age was upon all of us, and a new world order had emerged, thanks to the triumph of the worst elements of humanity.
Even the mighty United States had been reduced to a shell of its former self, destined to be forgotten.
What a tragic, sad ending to a great country with so much potential and promise.
Hope for mankind seemed all but dead...
But from the ashes of hell, arose a grand plan so absurd, so illogical and so desperate, that it might as well have been worth considering to be put into action.
This was a time so bleak, that you could only put your trust in a miracle or a prayer, begging that your suffering wouldn't last that long.
What if there was a way to harness these prayers, more specifically, the determination to persist in the face of unimaginable adversity?
As it turns out, the American government had been hiding away a top-secret piece of technology which could do just that, a device not of this world.
The time has come to defy the cruel indifference of the universe with a power from beyond:
The Dreamforge!
When all else failed, we cheated fate and spat in the face of death, breaking the barrier between reality and fantasy in the process.
Now, all we can do is hope that our anguished calls for help will be answered, and plead for the hero with a thousand faces to come to our aid.
The war to end all wars will ultimately be fought by our imaginations, which will run wild in our world, resulting in irreversible consequences.
Now, only one question remains:
How far are humans willing to go in the name of defending their ideals and seeing their desires fulfilled?
To find the truth, we must first have a vivid look at the tragic times of the 21st century...
