Opening 2 "Peace Sign" by Kenobi Yo Nezu
Opens to the U.A. Sports festival arena as the sun raises over the stadium. Looking down from arena side as the wind blows, Izuku and Boruto smirk/smile down at the middle of the battle ring, ready to face the Sports festival head on before turning and giving each other a high-five before the logo appears.
We first zoom through a few students of Class 1-A preparing for the sports festival in various places(Ochaco doing arm stretches. Sarada cracking her knuckles before punching the air in practice. Eijiro stretching downward while sitting against the wall. Tenya stretching back his left turbo leg. Sumire doing shoulder stretches. Iwabe swinging his earth hammer up and down. Katsuki stretching out his legs. Boruto doing squats with his arms out and forward. Izuku stretching with his arms bended back. Shoto doing arm circles and breaths of fresh air upon being finished.)
We then cut to the U.A. Sports festival arena where the battles take place with the main competitors unleashing their signature attacks: Boruto throws down a bolt of lighting. Izuku's finger-flick smash release a shockwave. Shoto releasing a wave of ice. Sarada comes from above with a punch that creates a small crater in the ground. Eijiro punches forward with his hardening quirk. Shikadai using shadow possession. Tenya dashing with his turbo engines activated. Mitsuki firing off snake lightning. Shinki attacking with a wave of Iron Sand with his arms crossed. Shinso turns with a glare. Iwabe smashes his earth weapon to the ground in using stone edge. Tokoyami releasing dark shadow to attack. Katsuki firing off explosions from both hands before attacking bare-handed. Tsubaki slashing the air with her sword covered in blue aura. Hoki launching an earth pillar. Tetsutesu punching forward with his steel quirk. Hatsume turns with grin and hands behind back.
Next shows Naruto, All Might, Present Mic, Midnight, and Shota(still covered in bandages) turning back to Class 1-A, who glare at them with determination as they're ready to give it their all during the Sports festival.
Last shot shows everyone in their costumes and jumping in the air, diving straight into battle.
Chapter 31: The Tournament Begins
As the recreational games are underway, the top 32 that made it to the main tournament are each preparing up at separate places in the arena, while some choose to play in the cool games.
In one of the waiting rooms, Boruto goes over his plans for the upcoming tournament, especially since he'll be the first match right off the bat.
While gazing at his right palm the Uzumaki inwardly thinks, "Let's see... I have no idea what quirk Pony has, but, I don't plan on using my Rasengan till later on in the tournament..." He adds in being sure, "My guess would be the semifinal or finals, or when I really needs to resort to it." He closes it, "Either way, I'm souped up for this." He smiles while at it, maintaining his confidence all the while.
The waiting room door then opens, getting the young Uzumaki's attention, walking in was none other than Naruto(who's in his hero costume), "Yo." He greets.
"Ah, hey dad." His son greets, but in a little surprise to see him, "What brings you here?"
"Came to see if my son here is ready for the big competition." Naruto grins after walking up.
"Seriously? Why wouldn't I be? Of course I'm ready!" He knows it and repeats, feeling a little dramatic and underestimated.
"Yeah, I know. After all, you ranked 2nd place in the first two games while coming out as the winning team in the last." Naruto smiles, "You did great." He congratulates, holding out his fist for a fist-bump, "I'm positive that you'll make it far in the bracket, actually, the whole thing and securing the number 1 spot."
"..." Boruto glances, surprised by this speech, but at the same time, these words of encouragement and faith makes him form a positive firm smile, "Heh... that's exactly what I was gonna do from the get-go." He adds, "Mark my words, I'm striving to the top with everything!" He holds out his fist as well.
"That's what I'm talking about!" Naruto grins, as the two fist-bump on this before the fire fox hero leaves his son to prepare for the tournament.
Meanwhile, in Class B's waiting room, Tsunatori isn't doing well with taking this pressure. She's up first right off the bat and it's against Boruto, who placed second in obstacle race and cavalry, might even be one of the strongest in Class 1-A for all she knows and that's the stage fright she is getting, "Just take deep breaths, Pony." Hoki advises, patting her back as she's sitting down, "It's normal having stage frights, we all do, but try to calm down before the first match."
"Come on, you can't be freaked out by that shrimp, Uzumaki." Togaru laughs with arms crossed, "How strong can he be? his clone and wind quirks aren't that big of a deal."
"Kamikiri, give it a rest..." Shihai chimes in, "Judging too early is a bad sign, ya know..."
"What he said, for all we know, he could have more in his arsenal than just those." Enko backs that up.
"Guys, that's not helping." Hoki said out, pointing to Pony who is still uneased and that last sentence that Onikuma said made it worse.
"I don't know if I can do this... maybe I should go ahead and forfeit-" Pony also says out until, Shinki comes over.
"No." He interjects, "If you give up before it even starts it's like forfeiting the right to be hero." He adds, surprising her.
She glances downward and thinks about what she's capable of, as Shinki adds, "Nobody said this was gonna be easy. Everyone here is using their full strength to take the top spot, including your opponent." He glances, "You should do the same and give it all you got... especially at this big of a stage where we get scouted."
"..." After hearing those words, Pony starts loosening up, understand what he's getting at.
"Just do your best." The iron-sand user encourages, "Whether you win or lose."
"Though we prefer you win." Togaru adds, "Since Class 1-A's our rival after all."
"Yeah, no pressure." Hoki encourages, alone with Shihai and Enko.
"Guys... Thanks." Pony mutters before turning her look to a confident/serious one, "I'll do my best." She promises, which her classmates are glad to hear.
After the recreational games, "IT'S FINALLY TIME FOR THE 1-ON-1 MATCHES TO BEGIN!" Present Mic exclaimed through the microphone as the crowd cheered excitedly in anticipation.
"FROM CLASS 1-A, THIS LITTLE DUDE CLAIMED 2ND PLACE IN BOTH THE OBSTACLE RACE AND CAVALRY BATTLE, AS WELL AS GETTING IN THROUGH RECOMMENDATIONS! FROM THE HERO COURSE, BORUTO UZUMAKI!"
The young Uzumaki steps out into the open with a confident smile, ready to battle as he walks on the grass to the arena ring.
"VERSUS, FROM CLASS 1-B, THE GIRL WHO HAS THE HORNS OF A UNICORN! ALSO FROM THE HERO COURSE, PONY TSUNATORI!" He exclaims as Pony also makes her way to the cement arena.
"Go for it, Boruto!" Ochaco and Sumire cheer from the stands.
"Yeah, you've got this!" Izuku yelled as he sat with the girls in the viewing section, while Class 1-B's is next to theirs.
"From what we know so far, Uzumaki's adaptability and agility means that this match won't be easy for Tsunatori." Sen points out, crossing his arms over chest.
"Don't worry, we believe she'll come up with something to win." Kendo believes it.
"..." Shinki says nothing, narrowing his eyes down as the match is about to start.
Shoto and Katsuki, on the other hand, look closely to make sure Boruto wins so they can face him in the further brackets.
As they're both on the arena opposite sides, "Okay, Pony. We may have teamed during the flag battle, but I won't go easy on you, ya know." Boruto grins, stretching his arms out.
The Horngirl takes a deep breathe and glared back, hands at her sides as her blue eyes focused on him, "I wouldn't want anything less."
After Present Mic does a hype speech about the rules of K.O, Immobilization, or Out-of-Bounds, "Both fighters ready?" Mic speaks as the whiskered teen spreads his legs and pivots his right leg back with his fingers in position(Shadow-clone sign) while Pony got down on all fours in a sprinter's position, her horns vibrating as she looked up at him, "BEGIN!"
Boruto immediately summons a shadow clone before they dash fast at Tsunatori while she launches her horns, which he and his clone dodge to the sides before resuming their assault. She grows two more horns that detaches as she runs horse-like. She then got onto her horns as the Uzumaki sees her taking flight.
"Taking to the skies, huh? In that case..." Boruto has his clone give him a small lift after it disburses as he lashes his hand out to grab her while coating his right hand in lightning, only for Horngirl to leap over his attack, sacrificing her horns instead before she lands on a set of new ones a flies a little further to gain some distance.
"Good! If I can keep some distance up here-" Pony thought she was gonna do, however, she's cut off as Boruto encases his feet with Chakra and does a chakra-enchanted long jump right up at her, "!" She's shocked by this sudden level of leaping that no normal hero should do before.
Now at her flight-level, Boruto stuns her with lightning palm, sending painful shocks throughout her body, which makes her lose stableness of her levitating horns. As she bends back in starting to fall, the Uzumaki wasn't done yet as he then grabs her by the right leg and swings/tosses her from the air to the ground, which makes her land hard on her backside, "Gha!" She spits out, wincing in pain as Boruto lands on the ground, successfully getting her out of the air.
"NOW THAT'S GOTTA HURT! UZUMAKI CLOSED THE DISTANCE BETWEEN HIM AND TSUNATORI WITH A COMBINATION OF LIGHTNING AND A POWERHOUSE SLAM!" Present Mic exclaims in hype.
"Good moves!" Ochaco exclaims in cheer.
"He's got the upper-hand." Sumire smiles brightly.
"Amazing... he mixed both his mobility and physical strength to remove her arsenal capabilities." Izuku murmurs in illustration.
Pony winces a little at feeling some pain on her left waste and her gym clothes damaged up, but stands up, back in all-fours. She wasn't finished yet and continue in launching more horns, to which the whiskered teen dodges them and sees a set of her previous horns on the ground and smirks in getting an idea. As he continues avoiding horns, he picks up two of them and uses them as sabers to block the two headed his away, successfully defending them to the ground.
"What?!" Pony exclaims in shock, "He used my own horns to defend himself!"
"I won't lie, these horns are more like hardened nails than ivory." Boruto said, holding the ones in his hands like they're swords, "But they do have masses nevertheless."
Pony clenches her teeth before flying on another set of horns and fires off more, but it's useless as the Uzumaki keeps defending them off with the same set he's been hanging on too and doing so with a straight face and without a hint of concern.
"She's getting desperate now..." Nirengaki mutters from the section.
"That may be the case, but this is the hardest she's ever been in a fight." Kendo said, "Gotten say I'm proud. She's giving it her all."
"..." Shinki continues observing with arms crossed, but does agree with Kendo that Pony is trying her hardest to win.
"It's no good. Nothing's working...!" She thought, frustrated, "Even if I stayed up here, it wouldn't help," She then decides to change gears, "In that case!" She flies down and charges towards on four sets of horns, with the two on her head out and forward, "At this speed, I'll send him out of bounce!" She thought, confident that'll it'll work as she closes in.
"Heh." Boruto grins and jumps backwards(almost barely), dodging her charge before landing on top of her back, "Giddyap!" He playfully treats her like a horse while they're airborne.
"G-Get off me!" She exclaims, trying to shake him off.
"I will, after I do this!" He places a palm to her back, "Enhanced Gale Palm!" He bursts a big gust of wind that's different from his normal palm of gale and sends Tsunatori plummeting down from the air to the field, landing hard yet again.
As she struggles and gets up, she sees that she's on the grass and with a sad look on her face, "No..." She realized that she had lost as Boruto lands on the cement arena.
Raising her flail, "Tsunatori is out of bounds!" Midnight announces, "Uzumaki advances to round two!"
The crowd shouts in cheers at his win, as expected from the sin of Fire Fox and some pros in the stands saying he'll be the next 'Kage Hero'.
"THERE YA GO! IN THE FINALS, THE FIRST PERSON TO ADVANCE TO THE SECOND ROUND IS BORUTO UZUMAKI FROM CLASS 1-A!" Present Mic exclaims in hype as the crowd cheers more.
"He won! Yay!" Himiawari jumps up and down brightly, happy for her big brother, with Hinata smiling in agreement as they watch the festival on TV at the house.
"That's my boy!" Naruto grins, proud of him.
"He did it!" Sumire exclaims brightly.
"As expected from Uzumaki, he's shown that he'll be tough to beat." Tenya said, closing his fist in confidence and smiles.
"Amazing..." Sarada mutters.
"He was awesome out there." Tsuyu said, finger on cheek.
"Yeah, he put on a good show all right." Shikadai states.
"So all I gotta do is win against this Kamikiri and I'll face Boruto next." Inojin said, smirking.
"I wouldn't be cocky too soon." Iwabe tells him.
"The way he rowed on her like a horse way uncalled for..." Kaminari sweat-drops, "Makes me a little jealous."
"Lucky bastard..." Mineta mumbles to himself.
"I knew he'd win." Izuku smiles, "Now it's my turn to win too."
Katsuki only frowns during the cheers, he obviously wasn't surprised that Boruto would win that. He declares inwardly, "You're going down... whiskers."
"Predictable that Uzumaki would win." Shoto thought, not surprise, "My right side is all I need against you, too." He clenches his right fist.
"She may have lost, but it was a good fight." Juzo said, commending her for trying hard, to which the rest of 1-B agrees.
"..." The iron sand user gets up and walks away, to which Kendo notices.
"Shinki?" She raises a brow, wondering where he's going.
"That kid's pretty good." Darui said from the Kage hero viewing section.
"Lots of pros are gonna fight it out to make sure he's in their agency." Kurotsuchi smirks.
"So far, yes." Chojuro agrees, while Gaara looks on with arms crossed.
"I... couldn't..." Pony starts to whimper out.
"Hey." Boruto said, getting her attention as he looked up to see him extend his right hand to her, "You did great! Those horns pack a punch and that last charge almost caught me." He compliments to her surprise, "Keep at it and you'll be in an agency, I guarantee it." He adds with grin of assurance. With her eyes shaking, she took his hand anyway as she was lifted to her feet.
"THAT'S A GOOD SIGN OF SPORTSMANSHIP AND A GREAT MATCH TO START OFF THE FIRST ROUND KIDS!" Present Mic announces, "LET'S SHOW THEM SOME PRAISE EVERYONE!" He exclaims as the crowd claps for a good first match to begin things off.
After that, as they walk through the tunnels opposite sides, Pony sees Shinki ahead and walks over to him.
"Pony..." Shinki trails, about to say something, but she instead speaks.
"I'm sorry... I couldn't win." She mumbled, feeling like she'll tear up again with her head lowered, "I wanted it so badly..."
"No apology is needed." Shinki assures, surprising her as she looked up to him, "With what you did today, you'll get scouted for sure." He nods.
"Yeah... Thank you." She nods, having collected herself and feeling much better after the encouraging words.
Meaning, Naruto walks up to Sasuke, who watched the matches from another part of the stands, "Yo, Sasuke." He greets, "I take it you watched the last match?"
"Yes." He nods, "I met your kid awhile ago before the match." He adds after catching some characteristics, "Seems just like you when you were young."
"Nah, he's nothing like I was." Naruto states the opposite, "He's a lot more like you when you were young, giving how he adapted well during his match just now." They glance at the other for a couple seconds until Naruto chuckles and turns, "No... let's me rephrase that. He's a little different from you too." He adds, "Or nowadays, things have taken a different turn."
"Wrong." Sasuke looking back at the arena, surprising Naruto to what he means, "The soul of a Hero always remains the same, even when times have changed."
"I wonder about that..." He sighs, "Anyway, I think I win this argument." He smirks.
Giving back a competitive smirk , "You're one to talk, loser."
Meanwhile, Boruto makes it back to the 1-A viewing section, "Oh, Boruto!" Sumire calls, getting his attention..
"We saved a seat for you!" Izuku points to a clear one between him and Mitsuki.
"Great work out there." The snake teen smiles usually.
"Thanks." Boruto replies, coming down and taking a seat.
"Amazing how you won that without getting touched..." Kyoka murmurs, impressed.
"Having mobility and adaptability does it's wonders." Boruto grins and shrugs.
"You hopping on her during that last jump did it's wonders too, huh?" Hanata grins teasingly.
"Huh?" Boruto asks, confused.
"You know! What was it like riding on her in the air?!" Kaminari exclaims, very dramatically in tears.
"Yeah, tell us!" Minoru exclaims the same way, both being jealous.
"What's there to like about it? I brought her out of midair and sent her out-bounds is all." Boruto shrugs, not caring all that much to brag.
"That's it?!" The perverted duo exclaim, confused dramatically.
"Way to get them crying of envy." Tsuyu said, finding it amusing.
"They're just weirdo's if anything." The Uzumaki replies, not caring for their perverted antics.
"Looks like we're moving on to the next fight." Sarada points, getting their attentions back to the cement arena.
The match between Inojin and Togaru gets underway and so far, Togaru is gaining the upper-hand as he consistently cuts down Inojin's multiple art birds and one that's beast-like to pieces.
"No way!" Inojin exclaims, shocked that nothing's working.
"You're as good as dead!" Togaru rushes at him and inflicts a small cut to Inojin's right shoulder.
"GUH!" The paint user grunts in pain and falls to the ground and by the time he perks up, Togaru holds him at Blade point to his neck.
"What was it you said before? This was gonna be easy? You jinxed yourself the moment you said that." The blade quirk user grins, "It's over."
Inojin knows there's nothing he could do and grits his teeth in defeat, "I give up."
"Yamanaka gives up!" Midnight flops her flail, "Kamakiri advances to the second round!"
"Oh well..." Sai trails, smiling to see at least his son tried.
"Inojin may have lost, but this will make him learn the hard way to never underestimate whoever he's up against." Says a young lady next to him who wears a purple outfit exposing her midriff with one mesh warmer on her left arm and wears a longer skirt that reaches her angles, along with high-heeled sandals(Ino Yamanaka).
The 3rd Match immediately starts off with Namida firing off a scream attack that sounds like a canary cry, "AAAAAAAHHHH!"
Namida Suzumeno! Quirk: High Scream!
She can create ultrasonic vibrations whenever she screams, allowing her to severely damage her opponents.
Tsuyu is forced to cover her ears, so does Midnight, Cemntoss, and the crowd
"What's with that voice?!" Eijiro exclaims.
"It's hurting my ears!" Mina exclaims in addition.
"She's acting like Black Canary right now!" Iwabe yells out, all covering their ears.
Not throwing in the towel, Tsuyu fights through it and extends her tongue at Namida, tying her up and prevents her from screaming any farther.
"!" This stuns Namida, who tries to fire another scream with her lose mouth, but Asui's tongue covers it and she's then swung out into the field, landing on the grass.
Midnight uncovers her ears, "Suzumeno is out of bounds!" She flops her flail toward Tsuyu, "Asui advances to the second round!"
"Way to go, Tsu!" Ochaco and Sumire cheered.
"Yeah, good job Asu-! I mean, Tsu!" Izuku yelled, correcting himself at the last minute.
"Nice willpower getting through that scream." Boruto grins, impressed, with Mitsuki nodding in agreement.
"Ribbit!" Tsuyu croaks happily, while Namida tears up dramatically on the other hand.
"All right, I'm fired up to win now!" Eijiro smashes his first together as he's about to leave for his match, "This will be a manly victory!"
"You said it, go out there and kick some ass!" Iwabe grins as the fist bump.
"Do your best, Kirishima!" Toru encourages.
"You bet I will!" The harden quirk user heads off to the arena ring.
"So Kirshima is against that Shinki guy..." Boruto murmurs.
"Yes, I wonder what Shinki's fighting style consists of..." Izuku wonders.
"Either way, this should be a balanced matchup." Mitsuki chimes in as they watch.
Kage viewing section, "Shinki's your adopted son, am I right, Desert Sand?" Kurotsuchi asks, "Is he strong?"
"You'll find out soon enough." Gaara simply replies, getting his gaze at the cement arena as Shinki and Eijiro come out of the tunnels.
"THE 3RD MATCH: MANLY AND PASSIONATE IN HARDENING! FROM THE HERO COURSE, EIJIRO KIRISHIMA!" Present Mic hypes, "VERSUS, THE CALM AND COLLECTED MAKE-UP GUY, WHO ALSO GOT IN THROUGH RECOMMENDATIONS! FROM THE HERO COURSE, SHINKI!"
"All right!" Eijiro roars, fired up with his fists ready, "You may be one of class 1-B's strongest, but that won't stop me from going all-out!"
"Hmph." Shiki gives him a glare, "I apologize in advance..." He begins to form some iron sand in his right hand, "I'm not good at using discretion." He adds, "This will be a crushing defeat for you."
"We'll see about that." Eijiro hardens his arms as they both stare down the other in what will appear to be an epic battle.
Ending 3 "Dakara, Hitori ja nai" By Little Glee Monster
Starts at daylight with flower petals falling from a tree in and Ochaco turning her hand into a fist as she, Sumire, Sarada, Tsuyu, Mina, Chocho, Toru, Kyoka, and Momo laying down on the beautiful grass with smiles of enjoyment and relaxation while conversating and looking up at the sky.
As the ending plays, the next shot shows the 1-A girls fighting off giants together in their hero costumes while having each others backs. Next shows them chilling out at the park, exhausted after a long day of training. Kyoka sitting on the bench with a hand to her forehead, Sumire on her knees and Mina laying down(Both sighing of fresh air), Ochaco bending down in catching her breath, Tsuyu and Toru bending over the trashcan(puking a little bit), Chocho sweating a lot after a bunch of running, Sarada leaning against the tree with her glasses off and hand over her eyes, and Momo standing up straight and take a few breathes.
Next shows them walking in the rain in their school uniforms while looking at the screen with medium expressions, before the sky changes from overcast rain to daylight. It then switches to the Class 1-A girls in their hero costumes once again in completing an obstacle course together while looking back at some of the Class 1-A Boys(Izuku, Boruto, Katsuki, Mitsuki, Tenya, and Shikadai) and Shota, who watch them from the starting line.
It moves on to the 1-A girls running home on the sidewalk, with Tenya, Boruto, Izuku, Minoru, Katsuki, Mitsuki, and Shikadai chasing behind them in keeping up. Last shot shows the girls smiling after having a great time with today's class while flower pedals bloom in the evening sky on their way home before the logo shows in the end.
Here we are, the first three matches are done and the next chapter features way more fights on-screen.
