Hey babes! Back with a new chapter for you all! This one's sorta filler, but I think it's still kinda fun in its own way.
Enjoy!

Stepping through the back doors of the school building, Clarke smiles at the sea of students dressed in pajamas of varying designs and styles. As part of the Associated Student Body, she had a large hand in creating the themes for Homecoming Spirit Week, and she's beyond proud of the fact that the rest of the ASB agreed to have pajama day be on a Monday instead of the middle of the week like it was originally suggested. It's more likely that students will forget something if a more complicated Spirit Day is on Monday since most students are still thinking about the weekend. But having pajama day on a Monday means kids can just get up and go to school without worrying about too much.
And it seems like she was right.
"Wow. Really good turnout so far. Let's hope the rest of the week looks like this too."
Clarke looks up at her best friend and smiles. "Of course it'll still look this good the rest of the week. At least, the Color War and School Spirit days will. People love dressing up when there's some type of competition going on. I knew exactly what I was doing when I suggested those specific days to fall where they do in the line-up."
Bellamy smiles. "Oh, I don't doubt that for a second."
They continue moving through the hallway toward the cafeteria, eager to kill some time with their friends before they have to be in class. They greet a few different students they know personally as they go, though it's mostly Clarke who does the greeting. Naturally.
Stepping into the cafeteria, they move on autopilot to the table where the rest of their friends sit. At least, the ones who aren't busy with other things before class starts. Every once in a while, when the school year really gets going, Clarke tends to meet with some of her teachers in the morning before class to go over assignments or ask questions for clarification so she doesn't fall behind. But she still tries to be with her friends at the table as often as she can.
Setting her bag down on the table as she sits, she smiles at Nate and Murphy. "Hey, guys."
Nate smiles back. "Hey. Cute pajamas."
She glances down at her pajamas, a simple pair of flannel pants and a random t-shirt she took from Bellamy forever ago. "I know you're lying, but thanks. Murphy, I'm a little surprised you're participating in pajama day." Her brows furrow tightly at Murphy's choice of pajamas, a pair of worn-out pants and a t-shirt. They both have a few holes in them in varying places. Though, she supposes pretty much anything can be pajamas these days.
Murphy frowns. "I'm dressed like this in protest. I usually sleep in my underwear but someone told me that it wouldn't be school-appropriate."
"Because it wouldn't be," Nate says, letting out an exasperated sigh, clearly having had this discussion numerous times already. "Nobody wants to see your scrawny white ass walking around naked."
"I'd have underwear on, dumbass."
Nate blinks. "That's...that doesn't make it any better."
"You're just jealous of my wicked good looks," Murphy remarks, playfully flexing his muscles through his t-shirt.
Nate huffs out a laugh. "Yeah, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"As much as I love seeing you two argue," Clarke interrupts before things can escalate any further, "has either of you seen anyone else yet this morning?"
"Think I saw the new girl in the hallway earlier when I got here," Murphy supplies, slouching down in his seat.
Clarke frowns. "Are you seriously going to keep calling her 'the new girl'? She has a name, you know."
Murphy nods. "I know. And I use it when she's around. I'm not a complete asshole."
"No, just the majority of the time," Nate fires back, more teasing than anything else in his tone.
Bellamy leans closer to her, keeping his voice low while Nate and Murphy bicker. "Must be one of those mornings."
"Yeah, well, it is Monday."
He nods. "Very true."
A soft ding from her phone draws her attention away and she pulls the device out of her backpack to find a new text from Harper with a photo attached. She quickly opens the message and can't help the laugh that escapes when she sees Monty and Jasper decked out in matching footie pajamas, both of them looking like a dragon.
"Bellamy," she says, turning toward him and leaning a little closer to show him her phone. "Look at this."
He snickers quietly. "Wow."
"I know. And it's not even Twin Day until Thursday." She leans away and types out a quick response to Harper's message, mostly consisting of laughing-crying emojis.
"And knowing those two, they're going to go all out for that day. Probably a couple of the others too."
"They usually do." She laughs again at Harper's reply. "They weren't even supposed to match. One of them was supposed to be a dinosaur, but they never talked about it, so they both got the dragon one because apparently, dragons are cooler."
Bellamy laughs. "Oh, that's amazing."
"Right?" She locks her phone and slides it back into her backpack, leaning back in her chair and getting comfortable while she waits for the bell to ring. "I'm curious now to see how they're going to actually match on Twin Day if today's matching was just an accident."
"Well, whatever they do, it's definitely going to be entertaining."

Sitting down at the table, Clarke lets out a quiet laugh when she sees Monty and Jasper's matching mismatched outfits. "You two look adorable," she says with a smile, looping the straps of her backpack around the back of her chair. "Seriously. We need to make sure you get your picture taken for the yearbook."
"We got our picture taken yesterday," Monty tells her. "Jas was really excited."
"Because we looked awesome," Jasper replies with a grin. "And we look awesome today too."
She nods. "You certainly do. I don't think anyone else goes quite as crazy as you two do when it comes to Spirit Week."
Jasper leans forward, resting his hands flat on the table and giving her the most serious look she's probably ever seen on the gangly teen. "It's Spirit Week, Clarke. It's an incredible week that needs to be participated in with all you've got. And it all culminates with quite possibly one of the greatest school assemblies in history."
"Loving the enthusiasm, Jas. If only Bellamy could be that enthusiastic about Mismatched Clothes Day." She shoots her best friend a pointed look, though she's not really angry at him. She just loves to tease him whenever an opportunity presents itself.
Bellamy rolls his eyes. "Not everyone can have your level of enthusiasm, Clarke. Or Jasper and Monty's. Because they're on a whole different level than you are."
She laughs quietly. "Trust me, I know. Those two are one of a kind."
"Who's one of a kind?"
Clarke turns and smiles as Harper sits down next to her. "Jasper and Monty."
Harper nods, setting her bag at her feet. "Ah. Yeah. They are pretty unique. I am mad at you right now, though, Clarke."
Clarke frowns. "What? Why?"
"Because you still look cute even when you're wearing mismatched clothes."
Clarke glances down at her very mismatched outfit and then back up at her friend. "You think I still look nice like this?"
Harper nods. "Yeah, I do. And it's not fair."
She smiles sympathetically and rests a hand on her friend's arm. "I'm sorry. If there was anything I could do to help you, I would."
"I know. And it's not your fault. I've just had an off morning."
Clarke frowns. "Is everything okay?"
Harper nods. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just one of those days where nothing can seem to go right, you know? I promise I'll be okay."
"Okay. As long as you let me know if you need anything at all. Don't even hesitate."
Harper smiles. "I won't. Thanks."

Smiling at the number of students decked out from head to toe in their particular year's color, Clarke makes her way to her usual table, hiking her backpack up a little higher on her shoulder. She tosses some of her temporarily dyed purple hair over her shoulder as she slides into an empty seat.
"Wow. That is a lot of purple," Nate remarks as soon as she sits down. "It's way more than you had last year."
Clarke smiles and sets her backpack on the table with a small shrug. "I'm just doing my part to help the sophomores win Color War this year."
Murphy snorts. "Yeah, like that'll happen. Seniors always win Color War. It's just a fact."
Clarke rolls her eyes. "Whatever. No surprise you're not representing your class, though. Again."
Murphy smirks as he sits up in his seat. "Au contraire, Miss Sophomore Class President. I am, in fact, wearing some green today. I just don't think Bellamy would be too happy if I showed you."
Clarke sighs heavily. "Are you wearing green underwear?"
Murphy simply grins.
"You're a real class act, Murphy," Nate speaks up.
"I do my best."
"Well, it's a good thing nobody cares enough to check if people are actually wearing their class' color. Anybody who sees Murphy in his underwear is going to be scarred for life."
Murphy narrows his eyes. "Screw you, Bellamy."
Bellamy laughs and leans back in his seat, holding his hands up. "Hey, I'm just telling it how it is. Nobody wants to see you in your underwear."
"I don't need this today," he grumbles, grabbing his bag as he stands and leaves the cafeteria to go to who knows where. He definitely won't be going to his first class until he absolutely has to. Even though he doesn't always go willingly. It's a miracle he's made it this far.
Clarke's brows furrow. "What do you think's up with him today? He's always moody, but I feel like that was more moody than usual."
Bellamy shrugs. "Beats me. Could be something going on at home. But he probably won't say anything because Murphy sucks at telling people how he feels."
"Well, not everyone likes wearing their heart on their sleeve like you do," Nate pipes in with a small chuckle. "We can't all be naked with our emotions."
"I'm not...naked with my emotions," Bellamy retorts, his face twisting momentarily at Nate's choice of phrase. "I just don't personally think there's anything wrong with being a little vulnerable every once in a while."
Clarke smiles at him, reaching up to gently pat his cheek. "No there is not. And we all appreciate you all the more for it."
*September 24, 2020*
Clarke lets out a laugh when she sees Monty and Jasper approaching the table, decked out from head to toe in matching clothes. Naturally. "Oh, you two look adorable," she says once they're close enough for her to really look at their outfits and take in every detail.
Monty sighs. "I had no say in the matter."
"Hey, I gave you an option," Jasper speaks up. "We could have been Ninja Turtles, but you said no."
"Because there's only two of us," Monty says exasperatedly, turning to Jasper. "And if we're going to be Ninja Turtles, there would have to be four of us. And we both know that Nate and Murphy wouldn't do it with us, and Bellamy would most likely be twinning with Clarke today. Therefore, we couldn't do Ninja Turtles."
"Well, you're right that I wouldn't dress up with you," Murphy interjects. "No way in hell. But is dressing up in the same exact clothes really better than dressing as only two of the Ninja Turtles?"
Monty and Jasper both glance down at their outfits, then at each other, then at Murphy. "Yes."
"Since there's only two of us," Monty echoes his remark from just a moment ago. "Weren't you listening?"
Murphy shrugs. "I tend to tune out most of what you two say."
Jasper's jaw drops. "That's rude. Clarke, he's being mean."
Clarke sighs heavily and rolls her eyes. "Jasper, I think you'll be okay. Murphy, stop purposely antagonizing them. You know how they get."
"It's not my fault that they—"
Clarke cuts him off with a narrowed gaze.
He lets out a heavy breath. "Fine." He glances up at Monty and Jasper. "Sorry."
"Thank you," Clarke responds. "I swear, sometimes I just don't know what to do with you."
Murphy grins, waggling his eyebrows. "I may have some ideas."
Clarke simply laughs and rolls her eyes. "In your dreams, Murphy."
So? What did you think? Let me know in a review down below. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Until next time,
