Mudkip stepped forward

"Mudkip!" Mudkip said

"All right! Go zigzagoon!" The boy said

He sent out a raccoon-like creature

"Alright, zigzagoon! Use quick attack!" The boy said

Zigazagoon moved with incredible speed and hit Mudkip

"Mudkip!" Mudkip said before retaliating with a tackle

"Okay! Zigzagoon use growl!" The boy said

Zigzagoon let a growl which caused Mudkip to shiver

Mudkip responded with another tackle which was a critical hit knocking out Zigzagoon

"Aw, man I lost..." the boy said "That was a good battle though your Pokémon seemed to be doing most of it."

"Huh?" Eri said

"Yeah, you're supposed to give them commands in order to help them." The boy said

"Oh..." Eri said

"Are you new at this?" The boy asked

Eri nodded

"Well, I guess someone has to show you the ropes!" The boy said, "Follow me!"

Eri followed the boy to the nearest town

Soon they were in front of a red and white building

"This is a Pokemon centre where you heal your Pokemon after a battle or to swap Pokemon from your pc." The boy said, "Hold on I need to heal my zigzagoon."

The boy went inside and a few minutes later came out

"There now follow me!" The boy said before leading Eri to a blue and white building

"This is a pokemart where you can buy useful stuff like Pokeballs using the money you win from battles." The boy said

"I win money?" Eri asked

"Yup, your trainer ID functions as a card that holds all your money!" The boy said "Everyone starts with 3000 pokedollars but with you beating me you probably have 3500. Come on I'll show you how it works."

They went inside

Eri flinched at the cold floor

The boy noticed this

"Oh wow, I didn't even realize you didn't have shoes!" The boy said, "Hold on I'll be right back! While I'm gone ask the clerk for 5 Pokeballs!"

the boy quickly left as Eri walked up to the clerk

" Hello! Welcome to the pokemart! How can I help you today?" The clerk asked

"Can I get 5 Pokeballs?" Eri asked

"Yup! May I see your id?" The clerk asked

Eri handed him the card and then the clerk scanned it before he handed her a plastic bag with 5 Pokeballs and the card

"Have a good day!" The clerk said as Eri walked out

when Eri got out the boy was waiting for her with a bag and an old pair of shoes and socks

"It's not much but it's something!" The boy said before handing her the stuff

Eri began to put on the socks and shoes before realizing she couldn't tie them

"Don't worry I'll help!" The boy said

He then showed her how to tie the shoes

"Alright!" The boy said as he put the Pokeballs in the bag "Now then I'm going to teach you how to catch a Pokemon!"

The boy lead Eri to a nearby patch of grass

"By the way I never caught your name." The boy said

"Eri." Eri said

"Well, I'm Joey!" Joey said, "Now come on!"

soon the patch of grass in front of them began to shake as a Pokemon came out

It looked like a mushroom

"Oh wow! A shroomish!" Joey said "Those are rare around here! Usually, they can only be found in petalburg woods!"

Eri on the other hand was freaked out by the walking mushroom

"Hey chillax I heard they're pretty calm unless provoked." Joey said

The shroomish walked towards Eri

Eri hesitantly put a hand out to touch Shroomish which it leaned into

"Wow! You're a natural!" Joey said, "You're like a Pokemon whisper!"

"T-Thanks!" Eri said

"Shroomish!" Shroomish said clearly liking the pets

"Now you just throw a Pokeball!" Joey said

Eri pulled out a ball and threw it at Shroomish

The ball opened up and Shroomish went inside

The ball shook once, twice, and finally a third time before clicking

"You did it!" Joey said, "You caught it!"

Then Eri's Pokedex activated

"Shroomish, The mushroom Pokemon, a grass type. It loves to eat damp, composted soil in forests. If you enter a forest after a long rain, you can see many SHROOMISH feasting on composted soil."

"Wow! You got a pokedex! I heard you only get those from the professor! That's so cool!" Joey said

"Uh, thanks?" Eri said not sure what to say

"You can also nickname your Pokemon too!" Joey said

Eri looked at Shroomish's Pokeball

"I'm gonna call you Onion." Eri said

"Mudkip!" Mudkip said

"I think your Mudkip wants a nickname too." Joey said

"...Skippy." Eri said

"Mudkip!" Skippy said clearly liking the name

"Skippy... I like it!" Joey said, "You have good nicknames Eri!"

"Thank you..." Eri said

"Now then there's one more thing you should know about being a trainer! Follow me!" Joey said

they left the town and it felt like something was in Eri's head... Watching

But she tried to ignore it

Soon they reached Petalburg City

and they were in front of a building with an orange roof

"That's a Pokemon gym!" Joey said, "You can battle the gym leader there and earn a badge however, this guy is way too strong for us at the moment!"

"Okay. Eri said

"But! We can ask him where to go!" Joey said, "Come on!"

Joey took Eri inside

there was a black haired man with a red vest talking to a trainer

"Not bad… It was a good battle." He said "Come back and challenge me again anytime. I'll be looking forward to seeing you and your Pokémon when you're a bit stronger."

"Right! Thank you Gym Leader Norman!" The trainer said before leaving

Norman then noticed Joey and Eri

"Are you two here for a battle?" Norman asked

"No, we're looking for a gym leader more our skill level." Joey said

"How many badges do you have?" Norman asked

"Both of us have zero." Joey said

"Then I would recommend Rustboro City the gym leader is specialized in rock type Pokémon." Norman said

"Alright, thanks!" Joey said

Just then a green-haired boy walked in

"Uh excuse me? Mr. Norman?" The boy said

"Oh, you're Wally right?" Norman asked

"Yes, I am." Wally said, "You said that you'll help me catch a Pokemon."

"That I did." Norman said

He then turned to Eri

"What's your name?" Norman asked

"Eri." Eri said

"Well then Eri could you accompany Wally here to catch his first Pokemon?" Norman asked

"...Okay." Eri said

"Don't worry I'll make sure you're rewarded." Norman said

Norman handed Wally an empty Pokeball and a Pokeball containing a Pokemon

"Here take one of my Pokémon to help catch your own." Norman said

"Oh, wow… Your Pokémon, sir?" Wally said "Th-thank you, Mr. Norman! Um…Eri You're... You're coming with me, right?"

Wally Joey and Eri walked out of the gym

Then Norman got a call on his pokenav plus

"Huh? It's birch." Norman said, "I'll call him after Wally catches his Pokemon."

Omake #1: What if Eri found a pack of Pokemon instead of the professor?

Eri was walking around the woods scared out of her mind

And then she heard whining?

she looked around before finding a pack of doglike creatures surrounding an injured bigger dog-like creature

"Houndour..." one of the smaller creatures whined

They looked scary

Scary enough to trigger a reaction from Eri's quirk

As she tried to sneak past them her quirk's energy began to flow into the larger creature

Its wounds began to fade, not rewinding but enhancing the creature

(A/N Here instead of rewinding if you have enough aura (I: E enough of an aura guardian or a Pokémon) Quirks like rewind, decay, or overhaul don't affect you in the traditional way Eri's enhance your body with increased strength and faster healing while overhaul and decay do jackshit same is true in the main story)

Soon it got back up and noticed Eri

Eri thought she was going to die

Until the creature licked her forehead

"Houndoom." The creature said

"You're... Really warm." Eri said as the houdours began to cuddle her

little did she know she was in their pack now

The raid could be going better for the heroes

Someone grabbed Eri and now the girl was gone so the battle devolved into an all-out brawl

"Where is Eri!?!?" Overhaul yelled as he threw Midoriya into a wall

Then a portal opened stopping all the conflict

And Eri stepped out while wearing a strange garb

"Eri!" Midoriya yelled

Overhaul the lunged towards Eri

And she smiled

She grabbed a bunch of balls on her belt and threw them

the balls opened revealing a bunch of different dog-like Pokemon

"FETCH ME THEIR SOULS!!!! Eri yelled pointing at the yakuza members

"Oh shit!" Overhaul yelled before getting maimed by a manetric and houndoom

Well damn
