"We need to go to Mossdeep." Eri said as she checked her map "It should be just across the water."

Eri and Latias then walked over the sea and got on skippy's back to surf all the way to Mossdeep city

On the way there they felt the sun beating down on them

"This is getting worse and worse." Eri said as they continued to make their way there

Latias nodded in agreement

Soon they arrived at Mossdeep city

"I'm gonna go challenge the gym." Eri said, " You stay here."

Latias nodded as Eri headed inside

once Eri got in, the gym guy greeted her

"Yo, how's it going, Champ in the making? The Gym Leaders here use Psychic-type Pokémon. If you go up against them with Fighting-type or Poison-type Pokémon, they'll inflict horrible damage! Plus, they'll come at you with outstanding combination attacks. If you want to win, you'll need to show them how tight you are with your Pokémon. Go for it!" The gym guy said

"leaders?" Eri asked

"Yes, there are 2 gym leaders here, Tate and Liza." The gym guy said, "They specialize in double battles."

Eri nodded and continued on

The gym layout was filled with balls of light that formed different pathways with switches to activate

Somehow Eri managed to make it through without battling a single trainer

and when she arrived at the gym leaders she was read

"Hehehe... Were you surprised?" Tate asked

"Fufufu... Were you surprised?" Liza asked

"That there are two Gym Leaders?" Tate asked

"That there are two Gym Leaders?" Liza asked

"We're twins!" Tate said

"We don't need to talk because..." Tate said

"We can each determine what..." Liza said

"This combination of ours..." Tate said

"Can you beat it?" Liza said

They sent out a solrock and lunatone while Eri sent out spooky and skippy

"Use!" Tate said

"Sunny day!" Liza said, "Use!"

"Psychic!" Tate said

"Use shadow ball and use liquidation!" Eri said

The sun's rays intensified

"Gen!" Spooky said as he launched a shadow ball at lunatone preventing it from using psychic and knocking it out

Skippy punched Solorock doing less damage due to the sun

Tate then sent out a xatu

"Use!" Tate began

"Air slash!" Liza said, "Use!"

"Psychic!" Tate finished

The air slash hit skippy and the psychic hit Spooky

"Shadow ball!" Eri said "Liquidation!"

Solrock was hit with another liquidation knocking it out as Xatu was shot from the sky

Tate and Liza sent out their final Pokemon, Claydol

"Use liquidation!" Eri said, "Use shadow ball!"

Both attacks connected and Claydol was down

"What? Our combination..." Tate said

"Was shattered!" Liza said

"It can't be helped. You've won..." Tate said

"So, in recognition, take this." Liza said

Liza handed her the badge

"The Mind Badge enhances the Sp. Atk and Sp. Def of your Pokémon." Tate said

"It also lets you use the HM move Dive outside of battle." Liza said

"You should also take this, too." Tate said before handing her a TM

"That TM04 contains..." Tate said

"Calm Mind!" Liza said

"It raises Sp. Atk and..." Tate said

"It raises Sp. Def!" Liza said

"It's a move that's perfect..." Tate said

"For Psychic Pokémon!" Liza said

they then put their numbers in her pokenav

"If you want a rematch..." Tate said

"Give us a call!" Liza said

And with that, Eri left

When Eri left she met with Koko

"Sister! Did you win?" Koko asked

Eri nodded

"Wonderful!" Koko said

Then the two noticed a bunch of team magma grunts walking to the mossdeep space station

"You deal with that while I battle the gym." Koko said

Eri nodded and went to the space station

When she got there she immediately went upstairs and saw Maxie arguing with Steven

"Why are you trying to take the fuel for the rocket?!" Steven asked before noticing Eri "Eri! Team Magma is trying to take the fuel for the rocket ship!"

"Fufufu... Since you're so curious, you deserve an explanation. We're going to jettison the entire load into Mt. Chimney! With Groudon gone, we have no need for that slag heap of a mountain! So we'll use the fuel's power to make the volcano erupt! It will be savage!" Maxie said

"I'm not gonna let that happen!" Eri said

"Don't you dare stand in our way brat!" Maxie said as Courtney sent out her houndoom and he sent out his camerupt

"Eri! Give me a hand!" Steven said sending out his aggron

Eri sent out skippy

"Use surf before they can mega evolve!" Eri said

"Use earthquake!" Steven said

Both attacks hit the two opposing Pokemon before they could do anything knocking them both out

"I failed..." Courtney said

"I just wanted to expand the land mass." Maxie said defeated

"And that's that." Steven said

"We failed to make the volcano erupt... We failed to control Groudon after we had awoken it... Is our goal to expand the land misguided? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... If... If we, Team Magma, are wrong... ... ... ... ... ... Then might Team Aqua's goal to expand the sea also be equally misguided?" Maxie said

"Things are already getting hot because of Groudon...If kyogre awakens it will be chaos." Steven said

"All right... We will give up on the fuel... There appear to be more important matters that I must examine..." Maxie said before leaving

He handed her the hm for dive, some dive gear and gardevoirite

"How did you know I have a gardevoir?" Eri asked

"I met with your brother before. he talked about you a lot." Steven said

"The seafloor cavern should be on route 128 you have to get there using dive." Steven said, "Go there and stop Archie."

Eri nodded before heading back out

She met up with Latias

"Latias I'm going to need you to go back to the box for a while." Eri said

Latias nodded before Eri sent her back to the pc

"It's time to be a hero." Eri said
