In the aftermath of defeating Demiurge the false god. Ren returned home with Haru in tow. He felt nervous. He stood in front of his mom's condominium with his girlfriend by his side. "Mom and Reiko have been anxious to meet you." Ren started, "I hope you don't mind that she's a lesiban."
"Not at all Ren-kun," Haru said. "Thank you, Mom's always had a hard time finding love and acceptance from someone." Ren said. "But she has you and me as allies." As Haru knocked on the door.
The door immediately opens, "Oh hello," a woman said. "Hi mom," Ren said. "Hello," Haru also said, giving a courteous kneel. "Oh you must be Ren's girlfriend. I'm Hanako Amamiya." Hanako said, "Come on in, both of you." Meanwhile, another female voice called out, "Hanako who is it?" Another female voice asked. "It's Ren and his girlfriend."
"Oh hello, Ren," another woman said. "Hi Reiko-chan," Ren said back. "Oh and you are?"
"Hello I'm Haru Okurama," Haru said, introducing herself. Ren set the groceries down, as Haru took a seat in front of Hanako. "So Ren tells me you're a first year college student, correct?" Hanako asked. "Yes…I'm a business major." Haru started, "Ren-kun knows my goal. Which is to open up a small café. Like the one Boss operates, while restoring the image of Okurama foods."
"A vision her grandfather started, that she wants to rejuvenate," Ren added. As he was deciding on what to make for dinner for everyone. "Yes that's right!" She said with renewed confidence. "Well, can I be your first customer when you open?" Reiko asked, taking a seat next to her girlfriend. "Of course," as they both take turns getting to know Haru.
Ren meanwhile gets the ingredients together to make fried chicken and steamed broccoli. He begins to work his magic, mixing in some potato starch. Hanako, Haru, and Reiko continue to chat. "Oh my, I didn't know you had Ren at such a young age." She said, "I did. Reiko blamed me for the rift between his father and her. But after sometime me and Reiko reconnected. Thanks to the Phantom Thieves," Hanako said. "Oh?" Haru responded. "I think mom knows Haru," Ren said. As he finished chopping the broccoli. "She knew about dad's change of heart also." That was one secret Ren was keeping from her. That he actually changed his father's heart alone."He's right," Hanako added. "You had already gone home at Christmas. So I never had a chance to say anything." As they all hear the sizzle of the pan. "Besides, Ren's father wanted nothing to do with him. I was the one practically changing his diapers, and taking care of him."
"As I was growing up, all I ever did was watch them fight." Ren added. "But since mom introduced her girlfriend Reiko to me even feeling nervous, but she already had support."
"Now she has two supporters, Ren-kun," Haru added. "Also that was father, before he changed." Haru began. "I never knew who my mother was. Me and Mako-chan had something in common." As she hung her head in despair, "hey is everything alright?" Hanako asked, with her still being unable to answer. "Haru-chan," Reiko also called out. "Father suffered a mental shutdown almost a year ago."
"Haru-chan, I'm so sorry to hear that," Hanko said. "But when I first met Ren-kun, he was the kindest person I knew. During a meeting with the company president, he taught me to stand up for myself. I even mentioned my vision to him with Ren-kun present." Haru said, "I've even brought beans I grew with me for us to share."
"Brewed using Sojiro's technique," Ren added, starting to fry up the chicken. And steam the broccoli. "Im actually exicted to try these beans." Reiko said. "I grew these using panda dung."
"Oh that's smelling good Ren," Reiko said, beginning to feel her mouth water. "You must have learned alot from boss."
"I sure did Reiko, I was thinking about curry, but without the atmosphere of LeBlanc it wouldn't be the same." Ren said, "even though boss gave you his recipe." Haru said, "telling you to put your own spin on it. Is that correct?""Yes," he confirmed with Haru. As they continue to chat, laugh. Ren meanwhile was continuing to work on dinner for everyone. Chatting away, Hanako shares stories of Ren's youth. His tutoring skills, "he did mention that you were one of his biggest inspirations in his decision to be a teacher." Haru responded.
As Ren finishes plating the meal for the four of them and places the plates in front of them. "Oh my, this looks good Ren-kun,"Haru said. As everyone digs in and continues to chat. Sharing stories, embarrassing Ren badly.
"Oh come on, Mom," Ren said, trying his best not to die from embarrassment. Hiding his face in shame. Haru giggling meanwhile, "hehe… now I get to see baby pictures of you." She said Ren meanwhile wished Yaldabaoth had just ended him.
After dinner, Ren and Haru went into his room. "Today was wonderful. You have my thanks," Haru said. "Why don't I step out, so you can change. I'm also glad mom invited you to stay the night." Ren added, but she was quicker. "No! Stay, I don't mind." He smiled, "alright just for you." As Morgana entered the room. "Look at the lovebirds, so cute," Morgana said. As Haru continued to look around, "My! It's so weird not having the maids here." As Ren and Haru finally finished changing.
They both laid in bed, embraced in each other's arms. Haru snuggled close, "so comfy." Morgana climbed atop the bed and joined them.
