A/N: 30,000 hits! (sighs) I'm tackling my obligation stories in a very different way from now one. Because a lot of them are so hard to write. I have so much writer's block that it can take weeks to write a chapter... so I'm tackling them in a different way, if I want to write the story then it will get a bump up while I worked on the top of the list one in the background. So this is the first one to get a bump up so yeah...
As for stuff involving The Owl House, this chapter lays down some nails that happens pre canon... also I have no idea what I'm going to do with the Collector, but I have some fun ideas involving the Day of Unity. I also came up with So yeah I hope you enjoy what I have in the mind to future...
Chapter 13: Thinking about Moms!
Luz was laying on the floor depressed. Why? Well it was because she learned about the one impersonating her… and it was a true impostor… someone had turned into her and was straight up pretending to be her.
"Hey you okay?" asked Toru.
"My mom is living with a fake me right now." Sighed Luz.
"What?" asked Mina.
"Oh…" said Ochaco remembering hearing about how her mom, was exchanging letters with someone pretending to be her.
"Isn't your mom a popular hero doctor?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"She is!" said Luz, "And other things!"
"You want to go out today?" asked Ochaco.
"Maybe…" said Luz.
"Come on it will be fun!" said Mina.
"That does sound nice." Said Luz.
They approached the boys with Izuku, Tenya, Todoroki and Koda all agreeing to hang out with her. As well as King of course.
As they were leaving they saw that Eda was reassuring Lilith about something.
"Is everything okay?" asked Luz.
"Oh just talking about the curse." Said Eda trying to brush it off.
"Oh…" said Luz cringing a little.
"You all right?" asked Izuku.
"I'm doing better." Said Lilith .
"That's a relief." Sighed Tsuyu.
"We're going out!" said King.
They all headed out.
However as they left the house suddenly a tornado appeared.
It was clearly magical in nature and hoped it wasn't an attack from the Emperor's Coven.
However an older woman emerged from the tornado holding a large staff with a large bird as the Palisman.
Eda and Lilith left the house to see this.
"Mom?" asked both of them,
"Your mom!" said Luz.
It was clear to everyone that she had entered Backstory mode!
Even the UA students realized her love of backstories by this point.
"Owlet I've been so worried about you after what happen with the Emperor." Said the mother.
"Your Eda's mom!" said Luz.
"Yes I am." Said their mom surprised, "I'm Gwendolyn."
"Nice to meet you… do you have any stories?" asked Luz.
Eda started to push her away.
"Let my mom visit me for a while then when you come back you can ask all the questions." Said Eda.
She knew that siccing Luz on her mom wouldn't work for long.
Plus it wasn't like she was obsessed with curing curse long she was when they were younger…
Maybe now she would answer why she dropped it.,
"Come on! You have to show us around!" said Mina.
"Okay, okay…" said Luz, "Talk to me later!"
Once they were out of hearing range.
"So humans." Said Gwendolyn, "I'm surprised that they can talk to you,"
"You know about that magic circle on earth don't you?" asked Eda.
"I didn't know what brought them here but your father had met them a few times." Said Gwendolyn, "He always tried to help them but they always spoke another language… so he couldn't help them."
"I met a group years ago who spoke the same language. I brought them back to earth and helped them get back to their home country." Said Eda, "A bunch of kids got sucked in instead of them this time…"
"I saw… but who are they speaking the same language?" asked Gwendolyn.
"Oh there's a spell to help with that." Said Lilith, "I was able to use it on them so we can understand each other."
"Though Luz, the kid who kept bugging you is not part of that group, she showed up much earlier and came here in a different way." Said Eda .
"I see…" said Gwendolyn, "Now… tell me about what happened with the Emperor….."
Eda raised an eyebrow getting a feeling from her words, while Lilith sighed heavily.
Eda would soon learn why he mom stopped trying to cure her all the time.
Elsewhere in the Luz Cheering Up group.
"We have no plans for this do we?" asked Toru.
"Nope!" said Luz.
"It is a good idea to just clear your head and talk." Said Tenya.
"Yeah…" said Luz, "Though we will have to find a place to hide if it starts raining."
"What why?" asked Toru.
"You haven't been told have you?" asked Luz.
"No why?" asked Mina.
Luz cringed.
"There's a reason why it's called the boiling Isles." Said King.
Everyone in the group cringed at that.
"It looks nice so I'm sure it won't rain." Said Ochaco.
"I hope you didn't just tempt fate…" sighed Luz.
It should be pointed out that for once fate decided that it wasn't in the mood to be tempted and it didn't rain that day.
So that was a plus.
Back at the Owl House the two were telling Gwendolyn about what happened with the emperor.
"I see…" sighed Gwendolyn.
"He was using m to get the portal door." Muttered Lilith.
Gwendolyn sighed.
"After everything you've gone through." She said.
"Wait so you know about the deal." Said Eda.
"Please don't tell her why… just that I told her and I was the one to curse you …" said Lilith.
Eda just stared at Lilith.
"What did you get drunk after mom missed one of your promotion celebrations so you got drunk, called her and confessed everything?" asked Eda.
Lilith groaned and covered her face in embarrassment.
"you hit the nail on the head Owlet." Said Gwendolyn.
Eda laughed.
"It's not funny Eda!" muttered Lilith.
"Yeah it is!" called out Kaminari who over heard this from the doorway.
"I thought the humans left." Said Gwendolyn.
"Half of them left." Said Lilith, "There's 21 living here."
"Why are there so many?" asked Gwendolyn.
"A class of students got sucked in during a training trip." Said Eda.
"Ah." Said Gwendolyn .
"Wait a second… Denki put down the phone!" yelled Lilith.
"I already sent it." Said Kaminari.
Lilith groaned.
"What is a phone?" asked Gwendolyn.
"Human Penstagram." Said Eda.
"Ah!" said Gwendolyn.
Back with Luz's group Jiro had gotten a text.
"What is it?" asked Momo.
"Apparently Lilith once got drunk called her mom and confessed some stuff about the curse." Said Jiro.
"Ha!" laughed King.
"Okay I did not expect that." Laughed Luz.
"I can't believe someone like Lilith would do something like that." Said Tenya.
Izuku, Todoroki and Ochaco all looked at him.
"What?" asked Tenya.
"You shouldn't really judge someone for doing something studied and irrational." Said Ochaco.
Tenya just adjusted his glasses in embarrassment.
"What are they talking about?" asked Mina.
"I don't think they're allowed to talk about it." Said Luz.
Back in the Owl House, Lilith performed a spell to make sure none of the teenagers could hear them.
"We can hear them but they can't hear us." Said Lilith.
"Are you sure?" asked Gwendolyn.
"Hey Hooty come over here!" yelled Eda.
Hooty was unable to hear her causing the three witches to breathe a sigh of relief.
It was always difficult to hide form Hooty after all.
"Can we hear them though?" asked Gwendolyn.
That was when they all heard explosions.
"What was that?" asked Gwendolyn.
"One of the kids." Said Eda with a shrug.
"Die!" yelled Bakugo in the distance.
"This is normal." Said Lilith.
"How is this normal?" asked Gwendolyn.
"You don't want to know…" sighed Eda/.
"What?" asked Gwendolyn.
"There's something else we need to tell you." Sighed Lilith.
"What?" asked Gwendolyn.
Lilith explained that fatter she found the truth of the Emperor, she took on half of Eda's curse.
That she could transform as well and almost did earlier.
"Of Lilith!" said Gwendolyn.
"You better not try to find a cure for us." Said Eda, "I don't want to go through those things again."
"Don't worry… I realized after the drunk call that kind of mother I have been.," sighed Gwendolyn, "I won't try to cure you."
"Good." Said Eda, "Because a lot your cures were annoying and sometimes scared me. Lily doesn't need to go through that either."
"We they were really that bad?" asked Lilith.
"You don't want to know." Muttered Eda.
Lilith nodded.
Meanwhile with the cheering up Liz group., Koda managed to get a bunch of animals to show up.
Some of them were cute while others were weird looking.
However this only brought Luz down….
"What's wrong?" asked Ochaco.
"Sorry it's hard not to think about my mom." Said Luz, "She always told me if she didn't have a healing quirk she would have become a vet."
"She could have become one." Whispered Koda somewhat loudly for him.
"No… everyone around her basically pressured her." Said Luz.
"That makes sense." Said Todoroki.
"Yeah…" sighed Luz.
She then sighed and knew she had to tell them the whole truth… why she was worried about her mom.
Back at the Owl House the topics had become somewhat more light hearted.
"You I heard Raine was getting a big promotion soon." Said Gwendolyn.
Eda groaned… why? Raine was an old flame of hers.
"I don't want to hear about it." Said Eda.
"Oh come now Eda… you should settle down." Said Gwendolyn.
"Mom!" said Eda.
"It would be nice you get married!" said Gwendolyn.
"I already got married, it's not important!" said Eda.
"What?" asked Lilith and Gwendolyn at the same time.
"I went to a huma city called Las Vegas and married a human man named Stan." Said Eda.,
"You just married a random man in the human realm?" asked Gwendolyn.
"It wasn't serious… I didn't use my real name and it was scheme to steal his human thing called a car." Said Eda.
"Oh Edalyn." Sighed Lilith.
"Hey, I'm pretty sure he was using a fake name too." Said Eda, "He reminded me of myself… and I mean he was running scams too., I wouldn't be surprised he was running some kind of scam wherever he was."
Her mom and Lilith both stared at her.
"you know you're lucky mom will never hound you to date…" said Eda looking at Lilith.
Lilith just counited to stare at her.
"Don't say that." Scolded Gwendolyn.
Eda just rolled her eyes knowing that it was time for Luz to come back and bother her mom.
Back with the Luz cheering up group…
Luz sighed finally opening up about the whole truth…
"I don't like talking about it… but I guess I have to…" said Luz., "My dad was a hero."
Everyone in the group were surprised.
"He was a top hero before he died…" said Luz, "It's because of that that I'm worried about an old enemy of his is finally going after mom."
None of them knew what to say.
That was when King decided to hug her.
Izuku, Ochaco, Mina and Toru all joined in the hug.
"Hopefully the villain that did that to your father isn't the one who sent them." Said Tenya.
That was when Luz became angry for some reason.
"What's wrong?" asked Izuku as they broke the hug.
"You shouldn't assume that a hero died because of a villain attack or a natural disaster." Muttered Luz.
They were surprised by this.
"He died from illness?" asked Momo.
Izuku's eyes widened at this.
"He did." Said Luz, "Can we not talk about it…"
Everyone knew that it was a really sore topic.
Though Toru did realize something.
"Wait.. is that how your parents met?" she asked.
"No." said Luz who did seem to cheer up a little, "They met in high school mom hasn't told me the story yet but apparently it's really cute and sweet."
"Hey you want to head back now?" asked Izuku.
"Yeah that sounds like a good idea." Said Luz.
And so they headed back to the Owl House.
Inside Eda noticed that they came back.
"Heads up Luz loves knowing about backstories so don't tell many embracing stories about my past." Said Eda.,
"Don't worry I won't. I also want to tell something to them as well." Said Gwendolyn.
She got up to talk to the girl.
Luz was that Gwendolyn was ready to tell her stories.
"How did it go?" asked Eda.
"No good… learn a sad thing about Luz." Said King.
"So can you tell me more about Eda!" said Luz.
"Of course!" said Gwendolyn.
Luz got really existed.
"And of course the whole backstory thing is the thing to cheer her up." Muttered Jiro.
"I figured that might be the case." Sighed Mina.
However Izuku looked at Luz.
"Hey./.." said Ochaco.
"Yeah?" asked Izuku.
She whispered something to him.
"Yeah… I do." Sighed Izuku.
Izuku knew he had to talk to Luz about what he knew.
And so Gwendolyn told Luz certain thing. About Eda's back story.
"There's something else I need to tell you that could help you and your friends." Said Gwendolyn, "Though maybe I should tell all of them at the same time."
"Really what?" asked Luz.
"I'll tell you over dinner." Said Gwendolyn.
Luz was about to say something but realized it was probably a good idea to do something like that when everyone was around.
During Dinner she of course told them.
"Many, many years ago a human did live in Bonesborough." She explained, "As it was centuries ago I don't know what happened to him, but I'm sure you'll be able to find something."
"You just happen to know about a human living in town?" asked Bakugo skeptically.
"Remember, you're not the first group sent here… most of the humans disappeared without a trace but that man was different." Said Gwendolyn.
They all realized she had a point in that.
And after dinner it was clear that Gwendolyn was leaving.;
"You two not cause too much trouble." Said Gwendolyn.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah…" said Eda.
Gwendolyn looked at Lilith.
"Are you sure you want to live here?" Gwendolyn asked quietly.
"Someone had to prevent fired." Whispered Lilith.
Gwendolyn looked at many of the members of Class 1-A and got the feeling that a lot of them needed mature adult supervision… which is something Eda lacked.
Plus it wasn't like their relationship was completely strained… it used to be worse before the immersing call.
"Don't worry girls I will say hi to your father you." Said Gwendolyn.
Eda flinched at that…
And soon their mother left in another tornado…
"Wait… your mom travels by tornados?" asked Kaminari.
"Why got a problem with that?" asked Eda.
"No… it's just that on Earth tornados and witches don't miss." Said Kaminari.
"What?" asked Eda.
"It's from a book that was turned into a movie." Said Momo.
"I see." Said Eda.
That night Luz was sitting on the roof.
"Hey!" said Izuku showing up and sitting down next to her.
"Heh…" said Luz.
They sat together in silence for a bit.
"I was wondering something." Said Izuku, "About your dad… was he Knight Light?"
Luz looked at Izuku.
"Sorry for over stepping I was just wondering you don't have to answer that." Said Izuku.
"It's okay." Said Luz, "I should have known you'd figure it out with how much a hero nerd you are."
"I'm not that much of a hero nerd." Said Izuku.
"I saw your bedroom and notebooks when I fixed your memories, your room is nerdier than mine." Said Luz.
Izuku blushed at that.
"You know I didn't want to say anything as I was worried that you guys would think I was using you… but I really want to meet All Might in person." Said Luz, "Not just to meet him as I never met him in real life but to thank him for everything he's done…"
Izuku remembered something.
"He and your dad were friends… I remember hearing about that." Said Izuku.
"Yeah." Said Luz, "When dad got sick, he helped out with a lot of bills. Even helped pay for the funeral but of course he couldn't attend himself since he's All Might and super busy… I get that… but still he helped out so much I want to thank him."
Izuku knew that he should tell her one part of his secret.
"My Mentor is All Might." Said Izuku.
"What? No way!" said Luz.
She then quieted down knowing it was keeping it a big secret.
"Wait is that you super secret?" asked Luz quietly.
"Part of it." Said Izuku.
Luz was about to say something but then realized.
"Yeah… being mentored it probably one part of your super secret." Said Luz.
Izuku nodded.
"I know you're not using me." Said Izuku, "And I'm sure he'll be happy to meet you in person."
Luz smiled.
"Just don't call him now, I want to talk to him in person." Said Luz.
"Okay! But I will tell him who you are." Said Izuku.
"Of course." Said Luz.
It was clear to both of them that leaning these things about each other brought them even together as friends.
The next day on Earth a meeting was a held with various heroes, including a video call with Nezu. Also Camilla was attending the meeting.
They of course were discussing what to do with the imposter.
It was decided to wait and see.
Several heroes were against the wait and see approach.
"For all we know that we she might poison Camilla!" yelled one hero.
"We should focus on something else." Said an another hero, "Namely who do you think sent them?"
"I have an idea." Said Nezu from his screen.
They all turned to the mouse-like principial.
"I have a theory that it's not a villain on our world but rather the imposter is magical in nature." Said Nezu.
Almost everyone stared at Nezu's screen.
"Is it because you're still dealing with the magic existing?" asked Nezu.
"Yeah…" said one hero.
"I'm also dealing with the fact that you're helping with this.," said another hero.
"Still considering everything… we should we think that the imposter is a magical user of some kind… I just hope it's not a member of the Emperor's Coven." Sighed Nezu.
"Emperor's coven?" whispered one hero.
"I did you read the details he gave us?" asked another one of the heroes.
'Nope!" said the hero that whispered.
"When the time to confront them is here I would like to be involved… I don't know why… but something is telling me I should be." Said Nezu.
The other heroes nodded in agreement, decided that it would probably for the smartest being on the planet to be there in catching an imposter of some kind.
Next Time: Bakugo meets some kids from one of the other schools, kids who might be up to his speed...However he begins to realize some things about himself in the process. Meanwhile Luz calls in the Library favor... but things are not going to be ways as it will happen? Find out next time!
A/N: The fact that Lilith is still at the Owl House will be more important for the future in many ways...
Also I had to explain why Camellia is a human doctor in the story thankfully it was already established in this universe that she has a healing quirk so being pressured to use on heroes make a lot of sense...
