Chapter 15: Hunting Palisman
Luz was writing down some of the stuff the Echo Mouse ate, thanks to Koda they were able to find some stuff… but not much about his adventures and the fact he missed the Human Realm.
It was a thick Journal after all.
However today wasn't a day to focus on the Echo Mouse after all today was a big day.
"I can't belie it's that day already! It's a day I've been waiting for ever since I started to learn magic! Oh my gosh! I can't wait!" said Luz like she was hyped up on coffee.
'I'm just surprised they're letting us get our staffs already." Said Izuku.,
"eh… from what I heard you're all good students." Said Eda with a shrug.
"Plus we'd be able to learn spells without using glyphs." Said Ochaco.
"That would be a very good thing." Said Todoroki looking right at Izuku.
"I haven't broken anything in a long time!" said Izuku.
"Either way it's going to change everything and I am ready!" said Luz.
And so they were all at the Grudgby field where quite a few other students were as well as a small building… though Amity wasn't there.
"Where's Amity?" asked Luz.
"I heard that her parents commissioned her a Palisman." Said Willow.
"Oh, makes sense considering how rich she is." Said Luz.
They heard Boscha scoff as it was clear her parents weren't able to commission one for her…
That was when Eda and Principal Bump showed up.
"Good Tiding on this momentous day! You're all about to get your witches staffs and meet your Palismans. This is a crucial step in magical development. Palisman are lifelong partners they can both lifelong friends and powerful tools. And in my case…" said Principal Bump.
That was when the little imp creature jumped off his head revealing three things, the first it wasn't just a hat and Bump was missing an eye… as well as a very long black hair.
"Ferwin helps me see…" said Principial Bump.
There were a lot of reactions from his revelation…
"Oh my Titan…" said Luz.
"All that hair…" said Jiro.
"That poor Palisman." Said Ochaco cringing.
"It's probably used to it." Muttered Bakugo rolling his eyes.
"Normally Palisman are hand carved out of branches Palistrom trees." Said Eda.
"But sadly they have become more rare. And those that remain are heavily guarded." Said Principial Bump.
"Which is why I teamed up with BumpyBoo." Said Eda.
"Never call me that…" muttered Principial Bump.
"To bring you…" said Eda.
A large demon. That consisted of a woman's head with bat wings and small feet swooped in landing on the building.
"Palisman Adoption day." Said the demon who was the Bat Queen, said to be the richest demon on the Boiling Isles.
The door to the small building opened and bunch of Palisman left it.
"So cute!" said Luz.
"I know!" said Ochaco.
"Here's your whistle BQ." Said Eda.
"Save it for another time, this was my pleasure, what a wonderful idea." Said the Bat Queen, she owed Eda a favor for when Eda babysat for her, yes really.
A little cardinal noticed a hole in the wall and tried to leave the enclosure however Principial Bump stopped it.
"No you stay here." Said Principal Bump.
"Aw… little Rascal." Said Luz.
"These Little Ones have not had a home in years. They want to feel a connection. Kneel before them and state your deepest wish and your partner will hear them." Said the Bat Queen.
"I don't want an old hand me down." Said Boscha rolling her eyes.
"Your loss." Said Willow.
She knelt down the enclosure.
"I want to be strong and wise to protect everyone I love. And if anyone gets in my way they're feel the sting of defeat!" said Willow.
"Tender yet tenacious, Clover gives her support." Said the Bat Queen.
A large bee like Palisman flew to Willow and turned into a staff into her hands.
"Oh wow." Said Willow.
Koda looked at the Clover and flinched a little but Willow.
"Remember it's not a bee like the ones you're scared up." Said Willow.
Koda nodded.
It was clear that Boscha changed her mind about Palisman as she approached the little habitat.
"Well I want to play professional Grudgby." Said Boscha.
"A competitive spirit. Maya will serve you well." Said The Bat Queen.
A crab Palisman went to her and became her staff.
Izuku stood up next.
"I want to be a hero and save people with a smile so that they know they can be safe." Said Izuku.
A rather fluffy bunny Palisman jumped to him and turned into a staff in his hands.
Ochaco looked at this while blushing bright red.
"You got it bad girl…" said Luz.
"I know…" sighed Ochaco.
Bakugo pushed Izuku aside.
"I'm going to be the number 1 hero!" yelled Bakugo.
A cute little Pomeranian Palisman jumped into Bakugo's arms and started to give him kisses
"Watch the bandages!" yelled Bakugo as the kisses ghost close to the bandages on his nose as it was still broken from the punch.
Then the little Pomeranian turned into a staff.
"Hey doesn't he look like a Pomeranian?" Luz quietly asked Ochaco.
Ochaco started to laugh as did Jiro who also heard it thanks to her quirk started laughing too.
"I HEARD THAT!" yelled Bakugo.
Viney stepped up.
"I want to open up my own mystical pet veterinary clinic." Said Viney.
A Palisman that looked like a manticore approached her and began a staff.
"I want to follow my family's legacy and become hero… one that also learns from my mistakes as well." Said Iida who seemed to rubbing his arm as he said that.
A Pegasus Palisman that was white and had a yellow mane and tail flew to him and became his staff.
Gus stood up next.
"My dad wants me to be a master illusionist. But that's too easy! I want become the first ambassador to the human realm, reestablish contact with the Giraffes and free them the zoos." Said Gus.
A blue chameleon Palisman went over to him and became his staff.
"Um… Gus… the reason why Giraffes are in zoos are because they are in danger of going extinct." Koda told him quietly, "There are subspecies that are criminally endangered."
"WHAT! NO!" yelled Gus.
Koda patted his back as Gus tried not to cry about this fact.
"I want to be a hero… so I can make money so that I can take of my parents!" said Ochaco blushing slightly in embarrassment.
A flying squirrel glided to her and turned into a staff.
"TOO CUTE!" said Luz.
"I wish to banish the darkness no matter where it hides!" said Tokoyami.
Eda and the Bat Queen were confused.
"He said he wants stop evil, I don't think I need to translate the rest." Translated Bump.
A toucan Palisman flew to Tokoyami turning into a staff.
"Spectrum understood you." Said the Bat Queen unsure how to respond to that.
"It's black and colorful at the same time!" laughed Dark Shadow.
Tokoyami sighed.
"I want to be my own hero… one that my mother would be proud of." Said Todoroki then his face turned dark, "And one that would make people forget my father ever existed…"
Everyone stared at Todoroki as a red and white fox went to him and turned into a staff.
"Find a way to get him therapy…" Bat Queen whispered to Eda and Principal Bump.
"I want to be the manliest hero I can be and never let my fear to hold me back again!" said Kirishima.
A wolf Plasma jump to him and turned into a staff. He smiled at this.
Jiro was the next one to stand up.
"I want to be a hero that can make everyone smile…" she said blushing a little as while fiddling on her jacks.
A little purple bat Palisman flew to her and became her staff.
Koda bent down to the enclosure and whispered what he wanted to the Palisman.
"He's a very shy kid." Said Eda.
"Ah…" said the Bat queen.
A little tortoise Palisman walked over to him and became his staff.
He held up and Willow walked and said.
"You kind of remind me of a tortoise." She joke.
Koda blushed at that.
"You're not going to laugh at that?" asked Bakugo.
No." muttered Luz, "For many reasons…"
Yaoyorozu was the next to step.
"I want to be the best hero I can be… " said Yaoyorozu who seemed a little nervous.
A crane Palisman flew to her and became a staff and she breathed a sigh of relief.
Todoroki nodded to her and she smiled and blushed a little.
"I just want to make to graduation." Said one spikey demon boy.
A sloth Palisman attached itself to him and turned into his staff.
"I want to become a witch!" said Luz.
However nothing happened.
She would have asked about being human but she realized she was the only human in the group that didn't have one.
"Is there a reason why it didn't work?" asked Luz.
"You lack conviction." Said the Bat Queen, "I'm sensing none from you."
"But I'm Luz! I'm nothing but conviction!" said Luz.
"Maybe if you're more specific." Said Principial, "Maybe stating what kind of witch you want to be will help."
"Well I want to find a way home." Said Luz.
"Wait can even learn magic in the human realm?" asked Boscha.
"I talked to my mom about still learning magic once I'm able to figure out a way home." Said Luz.
"Oh… that makes sense." Said Gus.
A lot of the class was surprised.
"Yeah I got over my fear a while ago." Said Luz, "Now I'm afraid on what my imposter is planning to do to her."
The class was confused.
"there's someone impersonating her in the human realm and she's afraid that they will attack or kill her mom at some point." Said Eda.
"Yeah" said Luz.
"Well what about afterwards?" asked Boscha.
IT was clear that Luz didn't think of anything beyond that… as she became nervous.
Eda noticed the look on her face.
That evening in what had become e thew girl's room, Luz video called her mother.
:Hi Luz!" said Camila.
"Hi mom!" said Luz, "How are things going on your end?"
"Oh…" sighed Camila, "Still planning the confrontation… All Might and Nezu are coming to help with it."
"Really I get All Might." Said Luz, "But why Nezu."
"I think he's bored, it's still summer vacation after all." Said Camilla.
"Wait why do you get All Might?" asked Mina butting into the conversation.
"Now's not the time Mina…" sighed Luz.
"So… did you get one of those staff familiars today?" asked Camilla.
Luz sighed.
"I didn't…" said Luz, "I wasn't able to bond with any of them… and I was the only one in my class so it wasn't because I'm human."
"Oh Mija…" said Camilla.
"I don't know what I want." Said Luz.
"You'll figure it out, I'm not really into fantasy." Said Camilla in a tone like she wanted to say something but prevented herself from saying. "But I'm sure you'll going to figure it out soon… I'm not letting you give up on magic."
"Really?" asked Luz.
Camilla smiled sadly, "You talking about learning magic and the friends you made is the happiest I've seen you in a long time, even if you are trapped there right now."
Luz smiled sadly.
"Mom I need your help with something." They heard Luz's voice in the background of the call.
The other girls in the room all crowded Luz and Luz didn't mind them butting in this time because yeah… they were all worried for her mom.
"They're copying your voice too?" asked Jiro.
"That's horrible." Said Ochaco.
"Are you okay?" asked Toru.
"I'm fine don't worry… if I suspect her of trying to do something I have an emergency beacon." Said Camilla.
"Be safe." Said Luz.
"I will." Said Camilla ending the call knowing that it was better not to waste time and tip of the imposter they were on to them.
Luz sighed… that was the first time she heard the imposter's voice after all… and she heard her voice recorded plenty of times.
"Today sucks." Said Luz.
That was when suddenly out of Luz's bad the cardinal Palisman came out of it.
"Little Rascal! Are you my Palisman?" asked Luz.
The little bird just chirped and it was clear he wasn't there for her.
"OF course not." Sighed Luz.
She picked up the Palisman.
"I'm going back to the school to get him back." Said Luz.
"Wait I'll go with you." Said Yaoyorozu.
"Arte you sure?" asked Luz.
"It will be faster…" said Yaoyorozu, "If you want it be…"
"No… you're right… plus I can help you in how to fly." Said Luz.
Yaoyorozu blushed at this she realized she hasn't really gotten a chance to fly yet.
They left as they did.
"You two need flying lessons don't you?" asked Tsuyu.
Both Ochaco and Jiro sighed.
Not too long later the two were flying to the school on Yaoyorozu's new staff.
It was a little shaky bit she managed to get it under control.
"I know it's not exactly the same but I've been dealing with confidence issues." Said Yaoyorozu.
"Wait! You have!" said Luz.
Yaoyorozu blushed at this.
"It's true." She said.
"But you're so amazing!" said Luz, "You're smart, you're gorgeous! You're the top student in your class and you have an amazing quirk!"
"You've seen my match with Tokoyami." Said Yaoyorozu.
Luz flinched… it was pretty one sided after all where she didn't do much while Tokoyami used Dark Shadow to push her out.
"Not only that but the internship I took not only chose me because of my looks but also
made me be in a shampoo commercial." Yaoyorozu.
"Oh man…" said Luz unsure what to say about that.
"I was given a pep talk darting finals and it was my idea so that Todoroki and I were able to pass." Explained Yaoyorozu.
"Hero final?" asked Luz.
Yaoyorozu nodded.
"Though like I said it's not exactly the same." Said Yaoyorozu, "But to be honest when I said that I wasn't sure if I was going to get mine."
Luz remember how nervous she was when telling the Palisman what she wanted.
"Yeah but you want to be a hero." Said Luz, "I don't know what I want to be… I mean I'm kind of proof that the whole Quirk Singularity Theory is bunk."
"What?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"My quirk are weaker than both of my parents." sighed Luz.
Yaoyorozu was surprised by this.
It rather rare for something like that to happen after all…
"Really?: she asked,
"Yeah, dad's quirk was way stronger than mine." Sighed Luz.
Yaoyorozu nodded remembering hearing that her dad was a hero.
"I honestly don't know what I want to do but being a hero isn't exactly something I can do." Said Luz.
"I'm sure you'll figure it out." Said Yaoyorozu.
They got to the Grudgby field where there was a forcefield protecting the little house of the Palisman.
Lil Rascal jumped away from Luz and broke the force filed.
Luz then picked him and placed.
"Hey I'm going to stick around and think about some things." Said Luz.
"Aree you sure?" asked Yaoyorozu.
Luz nodded.
"I'll see you later." Said Luz.
"Okay…" said Yaoyorozu.
But for some reason as she left she had a bad feeling… one she couldn't shake off as she left.
And so Luz worked shopped ideas with the Palismans about what her dream or goal was.
She eventually fell asleep with them.
However she was soon woken up by shaking.
Turned out the little house was taken by the Golden Guard.
However Yaoyorozu had given Luz privacy but she didn't leave the Grudgby field completely
She had watched in the stands. And she watched in horror as an air ship showed up and grabbed the house and flew away with it.
She flown to the air ship though it was somewhat difficult due to the fact she was new to flying after all.
At the same time Luz left the Palisman house.
Both of them thankfully got to the deck at the same time where they as the Golden Guard whistling a little tune.
They saw each other on the air ship and nod silently with Luz holding up a fire glyph.
Momo one again nodded knowing that glyphs would be better.
And so Luz place the fire glyph on him and he rocketed off the air ship.
They both go to the controls.
"Do you have any idea to land this?" asked Luz.
"No…" said Yaoyorozu.
"You have to pull that lever." Said a voice.
"Thanks!" said Luz.
However both them immediately realized that there shouldn't have been a voice.
They looked up and the Golden Gard was laying on the dashboard like it was nothing.
Yaoyorozu created a shield just as he let off a spell.
"Oh come on." Said the Golden Guard.
She also created a staff and several nesting dolls.
"Oh come on those thing again!" he said noticing them knowing they were bombs.
She set off one of them which was s smoke bomb.
This game Luz a chance to use an ice glyph and use it to make a club.
The Golden Guard blew away the smoke in time for Luz to smack him with the ice club.
"Ow! Really!" yelled the Golden Guard.
"How did you get back on the air ship?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"My staff duh." Said the Golden Guard.
Yaoyorozu and Luz looked at each other.
"What was with that look?" asked The Golden Guard.
They nodded at each other and started to aim their attacks in way so that he would let go of his staff.
Which didn't help when Yaoyorozu's Palisman started to join in the attacks as well. Pecking at his mask.
"Hey! Stop that!" he shouted.
That was when everything began to shake.
"What was that?" asked Luz.
And then something large attacked the air ship and sent it crashing to the ground… It was some sort of dragon m made out of fingers.
Luz slowly woke up from the crash with little Rascal checking up on her.
She noticed Yaoyorozu waking up with her own Palisman checking up on her.
"You okay?" asked Luz noticing Yaoyorozu.
"I'm fine." Sighed Yaoyorozu with her Palisman nodding.
Luz found the Golden Guards staff.
That was when both of them noticed a small demon talking to some Coven Scouts.
"Kikimora." Said Luz with her eye narrowing.
"Met her before?" asked Yaoyorozu.
They watched as Kikimora told the scouts along with a captain that the Golden Guard was dead showing off his mask. It was also revealed she had the Palisman with her and they were going to a town called Latissa.
Also when the guards left they saw that the finger dragon that shown up again and it turned out it was her pet and she controlled it with a whistle. Not only that but she had tried to kill the Golden Guard on purpose.
Not only that but instructed the finger dragon to eat him.
They looked at each other and knew that despite everything they needed to help him. Luz found his staff nearby and grabbed it.
That was when they noticed him, maskless he was a very pale boys with platinum blonde hair.
"He looks like he could be a student at Hexside." Said Luz.
"I remembered hearing he was teenager but seeing it." Said Yaoyorozu.
Luz walked over and approached him, leaned over him as if she was about to kiss him awake…
Instead she slapped him hard and yelled "WAKE UP!"
Of he woke up.
"Who… you!" he yelled as he woke up.
Luz slapped her hand on his mouth.
"You are a bad person and I don't like you. But Kikimora is trying to kill you, I'm too nice to let that happen and Yaomomo is training to be a hero so we won't let that happen." Said Luz.
However Luz suddenly removed her hand which was covered in slobber.
"Did you just lick my hand." Said Luz, We're trying to help you!"
"Why should I believe you!" yelled the Golden Guard.
"Honestly we have more reasons to distrust you." Sad Yorozu.
"Really name one reason why?" asked the Golden Guard.
"You erased Midoriya's memory." Said Yaoyorozu.
"Not to mention the library thing." Said Luz.
The Golden Guard raised his finger but couldn't say a thing.
"Okay even Belos is ashamed of that last one." Said the Golden Guard.
However before more could be said they heard a roar from the finger dragon.
"I have a plan." Said Yaoyorozu.
Thankfully the plan worked which was use his cloak to distract the finger dragon.
IT ate the cloak and flew away Lu breathed a sigh of relief as that worked.
They then headed into the nearby town.
Luz was trying to make small talk. As she was carrying the Golden guard staff she wasn't given a weapon just in case.
Yaoyorozu had made a staff just in case they needed to fight.
She also had some glyphs ready just in case as well knowing that it would be best to power up the staff.
Plus she also had her new Palisman.
So she was ready for a fight just in case, especially since this town was far rowdier than Boonesborough.
However The Golden Guard was just focused on his own thing.
"Wait! The least you can do is tell me your name!" scolded Luz.
And he found what he was looking for, which was the location of the town's Emperor's Coven station.
He tried to tell the scouts but without him being in uniform they didn't believe he was the Golden of Guard due to his age thinking that he was just kids a kid messing them.
"I can prove it! My staff!" said the Golden Guard.
It was clear that Luiz wasn't going to give it back.
"Give it to me now!" yelled the Golden Guard.
Luz started running with Yaoyorozu following close and of course the Golden Guard chasing them.
Yaoyorozu got an idea and her Palisman transformed into its staff form to fly, Luz jumped on and they flew to a nearby roof where the Golden Guard still followed. He glared at them from the ground.
"What is it Golden Guard, don't know any levitation spells?" asked Luz.
The Golden Guard just glared at her then looked away.
"Wait…" realized Yaoyorozu as Luz realized too.
"Are you powerless without this?" asked Luz.
However The Golden Guard managed to parkour up to the roof.
Luz wasn't sure what to do.
However Yaoyorozu was ready. She hit the Golden Guard with her created staff which hit him with a small bit of fire when it smack into him.
"Okay… that dumb" he said as he jumped back from her."
However that was when they saw the finger dragon land with the Palisman house and Kikimora riding the dragon.
"We both don't want Kikimora to win this." Said Luz.
"Then what? Yaomomo beating me up while you take the Palismans back?" asked the Golden Guard.
"Don't call me that." Said Yaoyorozu, "Call me Yaoyorozu."
"That's a nickname only her friends can call her." Said Luz.
:Sorry." He apologized blushing in embarrassment.
"And what other choice do have?" asked Luz, "Even if Yaomomo is a skilled hero in training I'm also more formidable than I look!"
She twirled the staff, dropped it but caught before the Golden Guard could grab it again.
The Golden Guard groaned.
"Fine a truce." Said The Golden Guard.
"A truce." Said Luz.
Luz held out of her hand to shake it but he was relucent and when he tried she pulled her hand away saying "Too slow."
Luz had a plan on how to stop Kikimora so she had The Golden Guard fetch something for her.
She and Yaoyorozu drew a glyph combo on a nearby wall.
He quickly got back and he saw the large glyph combo.
I've never seen magic like that." Said the Golden Guard, "What will it do?"
""We don't want to scare Kikimora's steed because it might drop the nest and hurt the Palisman. But with the fire and ice glyphs we can create a mist!" said Luz.
"And the sleeping nettles?" asked Hunter taking a plan out of the bag he as carrying.
"Combined with the mist it should create a…" said Luz.
However the Golden Guard finished for her, "A sleep including smoke forcing Kikimora to land!"
Both Luz and Yaoyorozu were surprised as he was clearly excited and happy to talk about it.
"Do you like studying wild magic?" asked Yaoyorozu.
He began to blush.
"Well… yeah… I enjoy reading about it." Said the Golden Guard, "In fact I read a spell like this in Bones to Earth…"
"A study of wild magic." Said Luz, "You know Eda once pickpocket the guy who wrote it."
"Yeah I never seen glyphs before." Said the Golden Guard, "Their similar to the elemental magic wielded in the Savage Ages."
"Really?" asked Luz.
"Yes… in fact!" said the Golden Guard but then he started to become depressed, "Wait never mind it's restricted for a reason… you should forget about it."
The Golden Guard sighed realizing he should tell them after all they've been through that night.
You're right I can't do magic without a staff, my whole family couldn't. But when he found me he gave me a staff with artificial magic. He also told me the Titan has big plans for me."
"At least you know your future." Sighed Luz.
"At least you can choose." Said the Golden Guard.
Lil' Rascal suddenly began to peck at the Gold Guard, causing him to freak out.
"He's just saying hi." Said Luz.
"I don't care, he's made from wild magic. It's dangerous." Said the Golden Guard.
"Wait… did wild magic do something to you?" asked Yaoyorozu.
"I was too young to remember what happened but besides Belos wild magic wiped out my family…" said the Golden Guard.
However both Luz and Yaoyorozu looked at each other, getting a bad feeling about what he said.
But they had no time to dwell on it as Kikimora and her finger dragon took flight.
Yaoyorozu created three gas masks and handed the other two to them.
"You know you need to eventually have to explain these owners." Said the Golden Guard.
"It's just powers humans have." Said Luz.
"And some animals." Added Yaoyorozu.
"Once they're surrounded by smoke we need to stay close." Said Luz.
She handed him his staff back.
"Are you sure?" asked the Golden Guard.
"Just take it." Said Luz.
The finger dragon was engulfed in the sleeping smoke and Yaoyorozu's Palisman was in her it's magic staff form with Luz joining her and the two followed the dragon.
As they noticed it working, Luz used a light glyph on Kikimora which due the drowsiness caused them to crash in a way that didn't harm the Palisman.
They landed and Luz went to the check on the Palisman happy to see they were safe.
However Yaoyorozu unlike Luz was on her guard.
And blocked an attack from the Golden Gard that he was going to do to Luz with her created staff.
"I should have known." Sighed Luz face palming.
The Golden Guard scowled.
"Are you really going to do this!" yelled Luz, "Are you really going to hand over these little guys to Belos so he can devour their essence. I've seen him do it."
Yaoyorozu was horrified by this and pushed him away.
"Don't say that out loud." Said the Golden Guard.
"Well someone has to provide exposition." Said Luz, "Still after everything I guess it all was just wishful thinking… you're just the Golden Guard."
"My name is Hunter." He said .
Luz was surprised as well Yaoyorozu.
However that was when Kikimora began to shoot magic at them. It was clear she was still drowsy but kept firing.
The Golden Guard or rather Hunter protected them.
During the scuffle the whistle Kikimora used to control the finger dragon fell of and Luz managed to grab it.
Both Yaoyorozu and Luz jumped on the finger dragon and took off to head back to Hexside.
Though Luz and Hunter did share a look of disappointment as she flew off.
They got the Palisman back to the school though the two did dump the finger dragon in the stands as even through Yaoyorozu was training to be a hero even she had to admit now was not time to deal with it figuring someone would be able to handle.
As by this point the sun had already risen when they got back to the Owl House.
"So… what happened?" asked Mina as the girls were conversed when they didn't returned.
"The Golden Guard." Said Luz and Yaoyorozu in unison.
"Him…" muttered Ochaco.
Luz sighed going to lament about not getting a Palisman.
However that was when Eda climbed through the window looking like she had gone through something during the night.
"I'd thought I'd find you here." Said Eda.
"We could have used the door"! yelled King also in the same shape as Eda.
"So looks like you two weren't the only one having an adventure last night." Said Toru.
"Yeah…" said Jiro.
Eda then tossed a small log at Luz.
"What." Said Luz.
"It's Palistrom wood you ding-dong." Said Eda.
"Now you can make your own Palisman!" said King.
"but isn't this super rare?" asked Luz.
"Well let's just say the Boonesborough Garden Club…" said Eda.
"Was robbed! By us!" said King.
"I don't know what to say." said Luz.
"No pressure but when you know what you want… we'll start carving." Said Eda.
"I think I want to make sure my mom is safe first… and maybe see her in person." Said Luz.
"Eh no rush." Said Eda.
Luz placed in her bag happy that Eda did this for her.
And she wasn't the only one who got a surprise as Lil' Rascal had found a new owner…
Hunter…
He at first considered giving him to Belos when he first showed up but didn't.
And was shocked when the little cardinal Palisman turned into a staff for him.
But still what Hunter didn't know was that getting a Palisman was just the first step in him realizing the kind of person that Belos really was.
Especially since the next time he would face off against people who loved in the Owl House, EVERYTHING would change for him.

Okay so my choices for Palisman animals:
Izuku and Bakugo: I don't think I need to explain why as those of are their fandom sprit animals... heck I've even used them in other fics.
Ochaco: Her chubby cheeks often make her associate with rodents and of course she flies so I thought it would be a good one for her.
Iida: He's often associated with horses and I added wings to mix it up.
Momo: I figured a crane would be a good fit to her for many reasons.
Todoroki: I figured a fox would suit him well... also partially inspired by both forms of Vulpix.
Kirishima: I felt it fit him best.
Jiro: Echolocation and the fact it suits her style
Tokoyami: I originally considered a parrot for originally but decided to split the difference, by giving him a bird that both black and very colorful.
Koda: It's because of volume 3 of Smash. For those that don't read it, in Smash the first four volumes comes with a bonus chapter where the class is effected by a silly quirk and Kosei draws a picture based around it. volume 3's is everyone but Bakugo is turned into an animal and Koda is the only character from both the chapter and the picture to have the same animal which was him transformed into a tortoise.
Also if you noticed I have some ship tease between Willow and Koda in the chapter as that was always the plan when I started writing... then Huntlow happened and they were so cute and sweet together but don't worry I have something planned... Oh by the way... did you know Hunter is conically Bi? Just saying... (grins mischievously).
