Hi, everyone! Welcome to Book II of the Mizuki series. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.
Let's start with the story, shall we?*
Chapter 1
"We all live under the same sky, but we don't have the same horizon," – Konrad Adenauer
It was a wonderful sunny day, a few puffy clouds painting the sky high up above. The friendliness of the day lingered in the air of Musatafu, the people laughing and talking as they strolled through the streets.
"Did you see him? Did you see how he won? He beat those villains with a single punch! That was so cool!" A small ash blonde haired male exclaimed, punching in the air with a big grin, eyes filled with admiration.

Quirk: Explosion
"All Might is such a cool hero! He never loses!" He added as he bounced proudly, punching in the air with a few sparks appearing in his hand palms. He had watched the match between All Might and a group of villains. He was clearly outnumbered and yet, he beat them all with one punch.
"He is the number one hero, Katsuki. It's only natural that he beat them single-handedly," a young girl, identical to the boy next to her, said with a small smile. She walked happily next to him, hands intertwined behind her back and a small red handbag slung around her one shoulder.
Mizuki Bakugou
Age: 7
Quirk: Explosion
"Mizuki, how many times do I have to tell you that he's unbeatable? Don't you think he's cool too? You said that you admired him!" Katsuki told his twin sister, a small pout forming on his lips. Mizuki blinked and giggled.
"Silly, I said that I admired how he always smiles and gives hope to other people. He is cool. There's no denying it, but I also told you that I'm waiting for my hero," Mizuki said and Katsuki gave her an unimpressed look.
Mizuki smiled as she looked up at the sky, red eyes gleaming brightly. "My hero won't be someone who's always on the television or makes a fuss. My hero will be one who does the right thing no matter what the situation and bounce back even if he lost," she said and Katsuki snorted.
"That sounds lame." Mizuki gave him a glare and then pulled his ear. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Stop pulling! I'm just saying!" Katsuki exclaimed as he held his sore ear, Mizuki letting go with a huff. He glared at her with a tear forming in the corner of his one eye.
"Don't be mean! You know that we're different, right? It's only natural that we don't have the same favourite hero," Mizuki told her brother and pointed at him with her index finger. Katsuki rolled his eyes and pocketed his hands.
"You're just being stupid." He then grinned confidently at his sister. "I'm going to become the greatest hero, better than All Might! I won't ever lose a fight! And then I'll be your hero!" He said, Mizuki's eyes briefly widening.
"I'll beat up anyone who dares to mess with you! You won't be able to stop yourself from admiring me!" He said, putting his hands on his hips, a toothy grin shining from his expression. Mizuki stared at her brother, her heart fluttering in her chest.
She then giggled and innocently looked at him. "Then, why don't we become a team?" Katsuki blinked, a blank expression resting on his face. "We can be the greatest twin team that beats all the bad guys. I'll even design our hero costumes!" She said and Katsuki's eyes sparkled.
"Yeah! We'll blow everyone away!" He then gave her a curt glance. "I'll still become number one though!" He added and Mizuki snickered. She nodded walking next to him, not minding that she wouldn't take the top ranking. As long as they were together it didn't matter.
Mizuki blinked a few times before she remembered something. She snapped her fingers, her brother giving her a skceptical look with a raised eyebrow. Mizuki rummaged through her small handbag before pulling out a small rectangle, gift paper wrapped, present.
"I got you this!" Mizuki burst with excitement as she handed it over to her brother. "I went to buy a new set of pencils when I saw this and thought you'd want it!" Mizuki said and Katsuki stared at the gift in confusion.
He tore open the gift paper, red eyes widening in absolute astonishment and disbelief. "H-How-W-Where-?!" He couldn't find the words as he stared at the glowing All Might Hero card in his trembling hands.
"You and Izu-kun both had one of the limited editions but this one is even more rare. Even if you want to beat All Might, you're still a hardcore fan," Mizuki told him, winking. A big grin was plastered on her face, her chest warming as she watched her brother gleam with happiness.
"I-I… T-This is amazing! You're the best sister ever!" Katsuki exclaimed, Mizuki watching in amusement as he held the card high in the air. He wore his big grin on his lips, eyes sparkling and cheeks flushed.
"Yeah, I know. You may be the best hero but I'm definitely the best twin sister!" Mizuki stated and Katsuki laughed at her statement. He received a playful glare from his sister, her smile making the threat diminish.
They were too busy to gaze at each other that they didn't notice the trio of bigger children walking towards them. Katsuki was harshly shoved by one of the kids, his card slipping out from his hands and the twins' eyes widened.
"Hey, watch where you're going, twerp!" The older boy yelled angrily at Katsuki, his two friends standing next to him. They were bigger, taller than the twins and easily looked down on the two younger kids.
"Yeah! Apologize!"
"Hah? Why should I? You were the one who bumped into me! You should apologize!" Katsuki shouted angrily, a fist forming as he glared at the older children. Mizuki frowned at the scene, crimson eyes catching sight of the card.
"Oh? It looks like the little twerp wants to fight." The kid spoke as he cracked his knuckles, his skin on his hands turning into rock. "You should know your place, squirt. You were the one who bumped into me. If you apologize, then I'll consider not hurting you."
Katsuki smirked, hand palms facing upwards and a challenging gleam flashed through his eyes. "I won't apologize to a dumbass like you! You won't beat me either!" Katsuki challenged, ready to pounce until they noticed Mizuki crunch down to pick up the card.
The larger boy saw her reach out for the card ad grinned evilly. He went to step on the card, Mizuki's hand faster and managed to block it. He stepped onto her hand, crimson eyes glaring at him for what he was about to do.
"What's with that look?" He asked his anger growing and a vein palpitating out from his skin. "You're only a girl!" He slammed his foot down onto her hand, Mizuki's glare not lightening and her hand not moving an inch.
"You should know your place!" He slammed his foot down onto her hand again, MIzuki feeling the pain increase. She wasn't going to stand down and she wasn't going to let this big oaf, dirty the gift she got for her brother.
"Stop it!" Katsuki yelled angrily, the boy's grin widening as he slammed his foot down again. "I said stop it!" Katsuki punched the male solidly in his face. He was sent staggering backwards and fell onto his bum.
Katsuki breathed heavy and stood in front of his sister protectively. Mizuki stared at her brother's backside, her eyes catching sight of his shaking fists. He was livid. His crimson eyes blazed, sparks appearing in his hand palms.
"You little shit!" The male wiped the blood from his nose, his other two friends by his side and growling. How on earth did this little kid hurt him this badly? He stood up and activated his Quirk with a growl.
"You're going to pay for that!" He attacked Katsuki with slow and sluggish movements. Katsuki was small and quick, jumping over his fist and hand palm catching his face. He let lose an explosion on impact, the boy crying out.
"Ah! You're going to pay for that!"
Mizuki picked up the card, wincing at her newly bruised hand. She saw the other two boys launch at her, crimson eyes narrowing. She jumped backwards, the card put away in her small handbag as she dodged the punch.
She grabbed onto the streetlight pole behind her and spun around. She kicked the one boy in his face and he crashed into his partner next to him. Katsuki also gave the other kid one last hit and the trio crashed against each other.
Katsuki cracked his knuckles and gave them a menacing glare. "You hurt my sister. You better apologize to Miuzki before I kill you!" Katsuki threatened, sparks appearing in his hands and the boys flinching. What the hell was with these two?!
"A-Alright! I-I'm sorry!"
Katsuki was about to give them another beating but Mizuki put a hand on his shoulder. "They already learned their lesson. If they come and get us, we'll beat them again. For now, let's go home, okay?" Mizuki said and Katsuki gave her an intense look, eyes glancing at her swollen hand.
She gave his shoulder a small squeeze and he scoffed. He wiped his nose where a small trail of blood wanted to run and turned to walk away. Mizuki smiled and skipped in next to him, the trio left staring at the twins with blank expressions.
"Here you go." Mizuki handed the card over to him with a big smile, Katsuki scowling. "It touched the ground but it's still in perfect condition!" She said and Katsuki stared at the card. He gently took it and his brows knitted together.
"Stupid! You should've let him-OW!"
Mizuki pinched her brother's cheek, her own frown on her lips. "No way! I bought it specially for you! There's no way I'll let his dirty cooties touch it!" Mizuki told him, Katsuki still not happy that she got hurt in the process.
She was tough as nails. He knew that better than anyone. She easily kicked the other two boys away despite being much smaller than them. She didn't even need to use her Quirk on them. She was definitely his twin.
Yet, he hated to see her get hurt.
They were a team. A number one team. They filled the spaces in each other's life and they did everything together. However, he needed to become stronger to make sure that she wouldn't get hurt. He needed to be stronger to protect her. He needed to be stronger to stand in front of her.
"We're home!" Mizuki announced as she opened the door to their home, a smile plastered on her lips. She went to take off her shoes, winching involuntarily when her hand rocketed with pain and Katsuki grimaced.

"Welcome home, Mizuki! KatsukI! How was-What the hell happened to you two?!" Mitsuki interrupted herself as she came out of the living room to see Katsuki with dried blood beneath his nose and Mizuki's bruised hand.
"A bunch of jerks! We beat them up! You should see how they look!" Katsuki answered, Mizuki rolling her eyes at her brother's drastic statement. They suddenly felt a chill run down their spines and swallowed thickly as they looked at their angry mother.
"Kitchen, now!"
The twins didn't dare to argue with their mother and followed the angry female towards the kitchen. She pointed at the chairs situated by the kitchen table and they sat down. Mitsuki then took out the medical aid kit, slamming it onto the table and the twins flinched at her actions.
"You two, when are you going to learn not to pick fights?" Mitsuki asked the duo, a deep frown on her lips as she started working with cleaning Katsuki's bloody nose with a bit of alcohol. He flinched and silently cursed at the stinging sensation.
"I didn't pick anything! They bumped into me!" Katsuki countered, his mother giving him a disbelieving look. He hissed at the pain from the alcohol and sniffed away the tears that wanted to involuntarily form in the corner of his eyes.
"It's true, Mom. I promise we didn't pick a fight. They were a group of kids who wanted to bully and picked us as their targets, which was a terrible choice in the end," Mizuki softly told her mother, the female still frowning as she took in the state of the swollen hand.
"That piece of shit slammed his foot into Mizuki's hand…" Katsuki growled out, clenching his fists in anger. Mitsuki's eyes widened. She had assumed that her daughter punched someone but it was the exact opposite.
"It's nothing! Really!" Mizuki exclaimed and then grinned brightly. "Katsuki taught them their lesson! Besides, I also got a hit in. See it as revenge taken." It was difficult to stay angry when she gave them such a dazzling and bright expression. They felt all their negative emotions evaporate on the spot.
Mitsuki sighed and looked at her son. "I'm glad that you're okay, but you should really stop fighting…" She then ruffled her son's hair and gave him a smirk. "I'm proud that you won the fight," she said proudly and he grinned.
Mitsuki then looked at Mizuki as she finished up with Katsuki and gently took the young girl's injured hand. "You should really take care of your hands, Mizuki. These hands make magic with your designing," Mitsuki said and Mizuki nodded, a faint smile plastered on her lips.
"Mizuki's going to become a hero!" Katsuki chimed in, Mitsuki blinking in surprise at her son's enthusiasm. "We're going to be the strongest twin team ever! I'm still going to be number one though!" He added and Mizuki giggled.
"What's this I hear about being the number one hero?" A male voice reached their ears, Masaru walking into the kitchen. He wore a soft smile, his suitcase in the one hand and his other hand behind his back.
"Welcome home, Dad!
"Welcome home, Honey. You're home early. Did you finish up with work?" Mitsuki asked the dark-haired male as he nodded. He blinked as he looked at the twins and then sweat dropped as he assessed the situation.
Bakugou Masaru

He gave Mitsuki a kiss on the cheek, Katsuki making a face filled with disgust while Mizuki couldn't be less bothered. She was fond of watching the affection between her parents. Katsuki, on the other hand, found it uncomfortable.
"Were you two involved in a fight again?" Masaru asked, a small frown forming onto his lips. Mizuki looked away sheepishly as her mother bandaged up her hand, not wanting to make eye contact when her face gave her that type of look.
He let out a breath and then gave his daughter a warm smile. He pulled out a large rectangle box from behind his back and handed it over towards the ash blonde girl. Mitsuki finished up and smiled softly as she packed away the medical aid kit.
"This is for me?" Mizuki asked, her father nodding as she took it. Katsuki, being very curious, nearly pushed her off the chair as he leaned in to see. Mizuki pulled off the peach coloured ribbon and gently trailed her fingers over the sunset shaded box.
"Open it already! Geez, are you an old woman?" Katsuki impatiently stated and received a slap from his mother. He held his head, tears daring to form in the corner of his eyes. Mizuki snickered and opened the box, eyes widening in wonder and a gasp escaped her lips.
Inside the box was a peace coloured designing book with swirls. Alongside the book was a new designing pen set and beneath it all was a brown envelope. She pulled out the envelope and opened it up, a letter inside.
"Do you remember the flower range designing you showed me the other day?" Masaru asked his daughter, the girl vaguely nodded. "Well, your mother and I agreed and I ended up getting you signed up for a perfect course."
Mizuki's eyes widened in disbelief and she jumped up. "Y-You're kidding!" Mizuki's hands trembled as she held the letter, crimson eyes scanning over the paper. Her face flushed, eyes sparkling and her beating loudly in her ears as excitement rushed through her system.
"Hey, that's not how you say 'thank you'," Mitsuki scolded the young ash blonde girl and smirked, resting her hand on her hips. "Your father pulled a lot of strings to get you into this course since it only takes adults and experienced designers."
"Thank you!" Mizuki nearly tackled her father to the ground from happiness. Mitsuki chuckled but soon yelped when she too was tackled. "Thank you! Thank you! I promise I'll make you proud!" She bounced in ecstasy.
"It's only a short course but we made sure to equip you fully. There's only one condition." Mizuki stared at her mother as she held up her index finger. "I want dibs on your first handmade product of your range," she said and Mizuki giggled.
"Of course!"
"What's so great about a stupid course?" Katsuki asked, clicking his tongue and pocketed his hands while looking away. "You already know how to draw and mess around with pieces of cloths." Mizuki made a face filled with offense.
"It takes a lot more than that to become the greatest designer!" Mizuki pointed out and watched her brother's unconvinced expression. She stopped from wanting to explain the details and merely let out a breath, followed by a chuckle.
"You wanna go play heroes and villains?" She asked and watched as his face lit up. She put away her things in her box and gave each parent a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you once again." She then exited the kitchen, her brother already calling her to hurry up.
"Yeah, yeah, coming!" Mizuki called after her brother, happiness swelling in her chest. She knew Katsuki would never understand her passion, but it was okay. As long as she stayed next to him, it didn't matter to her.
