Hi, everyone! Welcome to Book II of the Mizuki series. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did while writing it. Please feel free to review, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Disclaimer: I don't own My Hero Academia or any of its characters. Mizuki, however, is my own creation.
Let's start with the story, shall we?*
Chapter 19
The training camp started for everyone of class 1-A, the hell evident to class 1-B arrived on the scene. All the students were busy with intense training. Each one was pushing their Quirks far beyond capacity.
"Damn it!"
Katsuki's roar was heard by everyone as his body twitched in pain after making another large explosion. He plunged both hands into boiling water to expand his sweat glands and created explosions repeatedly to increase the scale of his attacks.
His shouts fell on deaf ears as Shoto breathed heavily. He alternated between ice and fire to make the temperature of the bathwater he stood in, uniform. The training was to get his body used to freezing and him try controlling the temperature of his flames. Hopefully, he might even be able to use both Quirks at once eventually.
Sero's cries were also heard by everyone as he stood on his knees in pain, elbows extended. He produced his tape continuously. He trained to increase his capacity and improve tape strength and shooting speed.
Meanwhile, Eijiro and Ojiro trained together. Ojiro used his tail to hit Kirishima with his hardening activated. They both tried to increase the strength of their Quirks along with stamina by using it continuously.
Kaminari, on the other hand, had his own shrill cries as his body shook. He ran his electric current through a large capacity battery. He was training his body to be able to handle large amounts of electricity.
Ochaco was trying her best not to barf and keep her nausea under control. She turned continuously in zero gravity in a bubble ball. She was training the semicircular canals in her inner ear to decrease nausea and increase the maximum weight she can use her Quirk on.
Iida did long training runs to increase leg strength and stamina while Tsuyu was training to work out all the muscles in her body and her long tongue. She climbed along one of the cliffs as Iida ran past her.
The other deputy class representative was stuffing herself while using her Quirk. Eating while using her Quirk, much like Sato, to amplify her creations and shorten the amount of time needed to make them.
Jiro was working on increasing the quality of sound from her Quirk by strengthening her earphone jack. Next to her Mina created acid intermittently to increase her skin's durability, both flinching but pushing through the pain.
Mineta sat in his own misery, crying in pain and had blood running down the side of his face. He was training to increase the strength of his scalp so that he won't bleed even if he keeps popping off balls.
Izuku was doing the same movement repeatedly in Tiger's bootcamp, the male occasionally allowed to try and attack the pro hero. Only to be punched and forced to train further until his muscle fibres tore.
All the other students were in the same position, Mandalay's voice occasionally helping them along and the other heroes also keeping an eye on each student. There was no slacking off or resting for anyone.
Mizuki breathed heavily, hands on her knees as sweat dripped down her face onto the ground beneath her. She could feel the strain on her legs and arms, her sweat glands protesting and her limbs steaming slightly.
She heard the ruffling of leaves behind her and glanced backwards, crimson eyes narrowing at the creature that was charging straight towards her. She closed her eyes, ears perking as it neared until it was right above her.
"Self destruct!" She exclaimed and her entire body lit up, the large explosion bursting through the beast. She heaved as the mud fell down around her and wiped another trail of sweat down the side of her face.
She had endurance training by fighting against the beasts. She needed to control her body temperature without overheating and improve her speed by activating her flash step. Her other goal was to find a way to activate her other Quirk and use it without endangering herself and others.
This is exhausting. I haven't gotten close to Pixie Bob yet and I'm pretty sure that she left a long time ago. Mizuki thought and straightened herself up when she heard a cry from the sky above her, a shadow falling onto her figure.
Mizuki dug her heels into the ground, steam coming from her legs as she burst towards the creature. She activated her flash step mid-air and pulled her hand palms behind her. She let loose a large explosion, appearing in front of the beast in a flash.
"White explosion!" Mizuki kicked the creature, a white explosion coming from her legs and bursting through it. She felt the hair on her arms stand up and fell to the ground when another creature attacked her.
Little shit! Take this! Mizuki spun in the air and then threw an explosion straight towards the creature. She smirked when it made contact, only to have it wiped away when its paw slapped her into the ground below.
That hurts! Damn it! I can't get past these stupid things without another one interfering. Even if I can increase my speed by taking the risk to use my hand palms and flash step together, it won't be enough.
Mizuki somersaulted backwards and landed on her hands. The creature went to attack her, his hand kicked away by her one foot and as it went to attack again, she let loose another explosion. She jumped through the smoke, hands grabbing its head as she growled.
"DIE ALREADY!" She yelled out and released an explosion that engulfed the creature's upper body. She landed on her legs, the limbs buckling beneath her. She fell onto one knee and tried to catch her breath as she watched the dirt crumble to the ground.
She didn't even have the time to try and figure out how she could activate Reject. She didn't know how it worked or what she needed to do so. She tried to connect the dots as to why it activated but there was no clear pattern.
She was attacked once again and growled. No matter how tired or frustrated she was, she needed to become stronger. She already failed once, she couldn't do it again. There were too many depending on this.
This intense training continued throughout the entire first day. She exploded through as many beasts as possible and tried to activate her other Quirk. She didn't try to catch Pixie-Bob, knowing that even if she did, it would be useless.
By the end of the day, she was drained and exhausted. She had a light fever, cheeks slightly flushed and her entire body aching. Half of her clothing was burnt off, her feet bare and filled with a few cuts and bruises after she tossed her boots to the side.
Day one. Failed.
She was never able to activate her other Quirk. She didn't even feel a slight pulse like she did before. It was hopeless. She didn't know how to get it to work. The moment she wanted to use it, she couldn't but when it wasn't needed, it came in full force.
Stupid!
"You're exhausted too, huh?" Eijiro spoke up as he stood next to her and the ash blonde female took in the male's tired appearance. He had a few bruises on his cheek and arms from his fighting, her head nodding vaguely.
Katsuki wasn't in much of a better state. His arms were twitching in pain from overusing his Quirk, his sweat glands stinging slightly. He glanced at Mizuki, his sister's presence not too far away making him feel slightly better. Though, it was only short lived when he saw the faint flushed skin.
"Now, remember what I said yesterday? 'Today is the only day we'll be doing stuff for you'!" Pixie Bob said with a big smile, Mizuki's brows twitching. How she wished she could wipe that smile off the pro hero's face.
"At least make your own food! Curry!" Ragdoll added, only to receive a hushed response to which she laughed at. "You all look exhausted! But that doesn't mean you can make any old sloppy cat food!"
Her words had a strange trigger go off in Iida's brain, Mizuki paling. "It's true that part of rescuing someone is filling the stomachs and spirits of those exhausted during a disaster. That's U.A. for you! No opportunity wasted! Let's make the most delicious curry in the world, everyone!" He exclaimed.
"Okay…"
Iida's so useful. Aizawa thought as he gazed through a pair of worn-out eyes towards the students. He didn't need to say a thing because Iida took control of everything. Now he could sit back and rest while they made food.
"Four-Eyes…How the hell are you still energized? On what type of battery do you run?" Mizuki asked the male as he waved his hands in front of him robotically, a few students started to get to work by getting the firewood.
"One must always be-""Both the questions were rhetorical, idiot," Mizuki snapped weakly at the male, her brows twitching. Iida held out a finger, his mouth slightly open as his statement was rudely cut off by her.
Mizuki chuckled at his expression and shook her head. "Since you're so full of energy, I'll leave everything in your capable hands. You can take control of forty people, right?" Mizuki stated and Iida's eyes widened.
"Yes! Leave it to me, Mizuki-kun! I won't let you down!" He exclaimed and Mizuki blinked when she saw tears in the corner of his eyes. Was he that moved after she asked him? She watched as he marched off and chuckled.
"Mizuki-chan! Are you going to help us with making the curry after the boys lit the fire?" Mina asked the twin. Crimson eyes stared at Mina, Ochaco and Tsuyu who all looked at her with big eyes. She shook her head, a smirk on her lips.
"Nope." They gave her blank looks. "I suck at making food. If I help out, it'll either end up scorched and inedible. I just stick to cutting up the vegetables," Mizuki replied and surprised them with the statement.
"Mizuki can't cook?" Mineta asked and then made a smug expression. "At least you have the body of a goddess so don't worry about it. You'll give something to eat-" BOOM! Mineta lay on the ground, twitching in pain with smoke coming from his body.
"Anyone else who wants to add something?" Mizuki asked, a dark glare directed towards everyone. Class 1-A continued on without another word, class 1-B observing and paling on the sidelines. It would seem like their class representative was as in control as Kendo, however, she was more feared.
"I'm sure It's not that bad. I'd like to eat something you make one day," Eijiro said as she joined Mizuki's side to cut up the carrots. She gave him a sceptical look and then returned her attention towards the task at hand.
"Don't fool yourself, Red. I nearly burned off the kitchen by wanting to cook an egg." Her words made him feel nostalgic. "You're going to have to be happy with my mother's cooking or take out," Mizuki stated, pointing towards the redhead.
He stared at her. Was she…talking about the future? He watched as Mizuki then chopped the vegetables, his cheeks warming up. She was thinking about them in the future and said it without a moment of hesitation.
"Then I guess I'll have to learn how to cook! I'm sure it can't be that hard," Eijiro said and received a mocking look from Mizuki. "What? I'll just ask Bakugo to teach me. He tutored me before so he can help out again!"
"Oh, really now? He has zero patience when it comes to the kitchen. You'll be lucky if he didn't blow you up in the first five minutes," her words were barely spoken before an explosion erupted from behind them.
Katsuki blew up one of the stations where the boys would make food in his attempt to light the wood. He walked away with hands pocketed, the other boys pale and staring at the blown-up area, smoke lingering.
"See? Like that." Eijiro sweat dropped and watched as Shoto took over to light the wood. "Anyway…so…how was your training?" She asked the male, her hands moving along and her eyes not looking up at him.
"It was tough. Ojiro and I trained together to increase the strength of our Quirks as well as our stamina. I have a few spots where he caught me off guard when I was tired but I won't let it get me down! What about you?" Eijiro asked, finally starting with the vegetables.
"I couldn't use it." Eijiro's eyes widened at her words, frustration gleaming in her eyes. "I was busy fighting off Pixie Bob's beasts but couldn't even feel an inch of that stupid thing. I only ended up tiring myself out by using a lot of my flash steps," she sighed out.
She felt a cool hand on her forehead and resisted to close her eyes at the wonderful sensation of coolness. "You're warm. Did you overheat again?" He asked and Mizuki gave him a small and reassuring smile.
"Nah, I'm okay. It's just a light fever. It'll go away after I take a nice relaxing bath. If it doesn't break, I'll go to Aizawa Sensei," Mizuki added, knowing that Eijiro was worried. He nodded in satisfaction.
"Tell me as soon as you feel worse." She rolled her eyes but nodded. "Also, you shouldn't overthink it too much. I know you'll find a way to use it. If you want, we can maybe try to train later on?" He offered and received a chuckle.
"Someone clearly forgot about supplementary classes." The colour drained from his face at the mention. Oh no. He watched as Mizuki laughed at his horror filled expression, her hands taking a dish filled with chopped vegetables.
"For what it's worth, I appreciate the gesture, Red." Mizuki gave him a wink and walked off to hand over the ingredients. Eijiro let out a breath and briefly felt like a fool. The thought of supplementary classes flew out of his head the moment he stepped onto that bus.
That was going to make things a lot more complicated. He stared down at the half-cut potato in front of him and frowned. He needed to make another plan. It wouldn't be that difficult. He had enough faith in himself.
With everyone's help, dinner was quickly made and it wasn't long until it was ready to be served. It was made with haste and everyone was mostly hungry, desperate to eat. Yet, they had food in front of them and that was all that mattered.
"Thanks for the food!"
"If I got this at a restaurant, I wouldn't be very happy, but in this situation, it's delicious!" Eijiro exclaimed as he stuffed himself, Mizuki sweat dropping. She too was hungry but she didn't think she could ever eat at the pace that some of the boys did.
Next to her sat Shoto. He too enjoyed the meal in silence and ate calmly. His quiet behaviour wasn't unusual for him and she knew that he was tired after the day's training. At least he could go to bed afterwards…she paled at the thought of having classes afterwards.
"Yao-momo, you eat a lot, huh?"
"Yes. My Quirk turned lipids into various atoms to create things, so the more I eat, the more I can make," Momo replied in a very informative tone on Mina's question. Sero eyed the girl as he ate and swallowed.
"It's like poo."
"Apologize!" Jiro hit Sero full force, Momo in depression at his words. Mizuki resisted to laugh at his statement and merely bit her bottom lip. Sero apologized, bowing in front of both Jiro and Momo while Eijiro never stopped eating despite watching the scene. Class 1-A would always provide them with a show.
"Kota! It's time for dinner! Kota!" Mandalay called, her voice sounded slightly muffled to Mizuki. She did, however, catch sight of the boy walking into the forest. It wasn't long until Izuku followed him, a bowl of curry in hand.
"He's at it again…" Mizuki let out a sigh and ruffled her hair. It was typical of Izuku to involve himself in things that was sometimes better left alone. Yet, his kind hearted behaviour only made her smile. He was never going to change and for that she was grateful.
"What do you mean?"
Shoto eyed Mizuki with interest. She looked at him and then gave him a dazzling smile that made his heart skip a beat. "It's nothing. I just saw something nostalgic," she replied and finished up her meal. Shoto blinked a few times and then returned his attention back towards his meal, an unconscious smile forming on his lips.
Later on…
"Man, I can't believe we have supplementary classes right now… I'm completely beat!" Kaminari moaned out, his shoulders slumped along with Sato and Sero. Eijiro nodded in agreement and Mizuki let out a breath.
"Well, it can't be helped. We have to study to catch up with the rest or we'll fall behind even more. You don't want that, do you?" Mizuki asked and they shook their heads reluctantly. "Good and besides, you're not alone in this thing. Stop slouching."
"How are you so positive about this? Bakugo's probably already off catching up on sleep while you have to be here," Kaminari pointed out and received a glare from Eijiro, Sato and Sero giving him unimpressed gazes.
"Well, I can't be left behind, can I? The only way I can go forward is by not moping around. Unlike certain people," Mizuki replied, crimson eyes briefly glancing backwards. Kaminari paled and let his head fall.
"Mizuki is right," Aizawa's voice reached their ears. they caught sight of the male standing by the door of the classroom as they approached. "You should be working to become better, especially after a day of unsatisfied training."
The group each felt the stab in their chest from his words. Mizuki flinched at his narrowed gaze and felt another stabbing in her chest. He didn't have to say anything. His behaviour already said everything.
"You better be prepared and pay attention. We'll start when you're all seated," Aizawa said and slid the door open. He was as merciless as always. He knew they were tired but that didn't matter in the least.
"Oh, that's weird! Even though Class A is supposed to be better, there were five people who failed? Even though there was only one person from Class B? That's so weird!" A blonde male laughed when he caught sight of the group.
Mizuki took in his appearance, noting that he appeared completely insane and irrational. If she remembered correctly, he was called Monoma. Katsuki kicked his ass during the sports festival after being mocked and here he was again.
"Am I allowed to blow him up?" Mizuki asked her teacher, Vlad King standing on the side with crossed arms. She received a look from Aizawa and nodded. Note to self. Not allowed to blow up Shit for Brains.
The male continued to laugh as they took their seats and Eijiro paled. "Is he alright?" He whispered to Mizuki and she shrugged. He acted completely bat shit crazy and she knew bat shit crazy. Mei was bonkers but it would seem this male was even more so.
It was going to be a long night.
Meanwhile…
"I mean, I don't like this. It's not cute," a teenage girl spoke up, her bright yellow irises glaring forward. Her hair was pale, dirty ash blonde and was styled into two messy buns, numerous wild strands sticking out at all angles.
She wore a plain school uniform with both the skirt and the shirt dark blue. She had a red scarf that hung loosely over an oversized beige cardigan with a rather long hem and cuffs, pockets on either side. She had socks reaching her calves and it was accompanied by a pair of dark brown dress shoes with thick heels.
To these outfits, she wore additional gadgets and pieces such as a piped black mask, boxes of knives strapped around her thighs and a blue utility belt. She had a black mask hanging loose from her neck and large silver canisters that were attached to the sides of her mask. It had needles poking out of their tips and wires at their bases.

"This was orchestrated by the designer behind the scenes, right? Appearances don't matter as long as it makes sense," a skinny male spoke. He wore a black school uniform accompanied with teal gloves and white shoes. He wore a green gas mask that completely covered his face and was attached to two oxygen tanks on his back.

"Hi! Sorry for the wait," a transgender female with a wide, muscular build and smooth shoulder-length, reddish hair appeared. She wore a pair of triangular, white-framed sunglasses and a dark orange shirt. Underneath was a white v-neck she had underneath. She also wore blue jeans and had plain dark brown espadrilles on her feet. She carried a giant magnet wrapped in cloth by her side.

"Work…Work…" another male slithered. He wore a black straitjacket that only left his mouth exposed. The suit was held together by black restraints decorated with red spikes and connected to metal clamps that covered his head and kept his lips open.
Villain name: Moonfish
Quirk: Blade-Tooth
Next to him was a male with a reptile-like appearance and bright green scales for skin. His face resembled that of a lizard, his pink-purple long hair swept backwards. Over his eyes, he wore a tattered strip of cloth as a mash that rippled in the wind.
Shuichi Iguchi
Villain name: Spinner
Quirk: Gecko
"That makes seven," a deep male voice spoke. He had longish, black hair that spiked up and hang low over his eyes which were turquoise in colour and heavy lidded. His most striking features were undoubtedly the patches of gnarled, wrinkled, purple skin.
This skin covered much of his lower face and neck, all the way down his collarbone, below his eyes and on his arms and legs. The skin was attached to the rest of his skin by multiple, crude surgical staples or hoop piercings. He has several silver cartilage piercings in both ears and a triple nostril piercing on the right side of his nose.
He wore a dark blue jacket with high, ripped collar, and matching pants, cut off above his ankles. He wore a pair of dark dress shoes on his feet. He also had a plain pale grey shirt below with a grey belt wrapped around his waist and a leather satchel stacked at the back.

"I don't care, just let me at 'em. I'm getting too pumped up," another villain growled out, his fingers cracking. His outfit consisted of a black, hooded cloak and a white hockey mask with multiple holes. It all hid his large and muscular, bulked body
Villain name: Musclar
Quirk: Muscle Augmentation
"Shut up, you crazy bastards. Not yet… We'll move when all ten of us are here. Gathering a bunch of punks who are just strong will only increase the risk. It's better to have a small group of experienced elites. First, we make them realize that their peace is resting in our hands," Dabi spoke, wearing a sick smirk.
That's right. They will have their chance to pounce and complete the mission they were given. It was only a matter of time. For now, he would only observe them, turquoise eyes only wanting one thing. The secret hidden in the pocket of his dark blue jacket.
The next morning…
Everyone was back to training intensely, whether they were exercising, eating or using their Quirks continuously. They were giving their all once more in hopes to develop further. All except a group of four.
"Hey, extra lessons group, don't stop," Aizawa snapped at the four males, his capturing scarf wrapping around Eijiro's head and pulled him up. They all managed to snap somewhat out of their sleepy daze.
"Got it!"
"Sorry, I'm kind of sleepy… I didn't think yesterday's extra lessons would go until 2AM and we started at 7PM…" Kaminari groaned out, shoulders slumped, eyes worn out along with his companions.
"I told you it'd be tough. You're not just trying to improve your Quirks. Above all, you need to work on the weaknesses that were exposed during the final exams!" Aizawa scolded them, Eijiro still being pulled by the hardened scarf, Ragdoll smiling in the background.
"Think carefully about why you're more tired than your classmates before you move," he told them and released the redhead. Eijiro fell onto his knees and weakly pushed his tired body up onto his feet.
He wasn't tired. He could do this. He could handle an entire day's training without slacking off once. The thought of training another long day had his shoulders slumping in defeat. An entire week of supplementary classes and full day training… Were they going to survive it?
He thought of Mizuki who had kept up with the class until the last drop, her glasses shining as she continued to soak up all that was said. He didn't know how she did it. How was it possible for someone to concentrate that long?
She always seemed to amaze him.
"I HATE THIS!" Mizuki shouted at the top of her lungs as she ran away from a beast that chased her through the forest. She ducked as its tail swung towards her and jumped towards a tree branch. She spun around it, dodging its charge.
She then released her grip and landed on top of the creature, hands touching its back. She yelped when it started to jump around and she growled. She heated up her hands and let loose a large explosion.
She breathed heavily as she landed on her one knee. One more out of the picture. She let out an exasperated sigh. She was exhausted. What type of sick bastard kept them up until two in the morning? Moreover, after concentrating for so long he couldn't sleep for another hour.
It was preposterous!
She felt the rumbling of the ground as another creature came running towards her. Mizuki gritted her teeth as her anger soared, steam coming from her body. She didn't get enough sleep, her body was sore, she was hungry and she couldn't use the stupid other Quirk.
"Fine. You want to dance, asshole? I can do this all day!" Mizuki ran straight towards the creature, her body sparking. It clawed at her, Mizuki dodging by manoeuvring her body with an explosion. It opened its mouth to catch her and she smirked.
She jumped right into its mouth and then exploded. She twirled in the air and dug her heels into the ground. She let out a breath, steam coming from her mouth. She watched as the creature crumbled to the ground and clenched her fists.
Not yet. I'm not there yet. I haven't activated Reject yet. Mizuki thought and caught sight of Pixie Bob sitting on one of the branches. She turned towards her, eyes narrowing. She received a cheshire grin and frowned.
I haven't caught her yet. I'm still far from done.
