Okay, here we go! This is the third installment of my Beyblade fic. Is it completely unconventional? Yah. Will anyone find this? I'll be shocked. Did I integrate the worlds together properly? Do you even know who I am? I absolutely bombed this one! XD

If you do end up finding this, I hope it's to your enjoyment!

I nestled into my makeshift bed before letting out a slow sigh through my nose. It had been rough over the past few weeks, the heat of the savanna was getting to me more than I'd like. Still, I pressed on, urging myself to grow stronger. It wasn't easy. But then again, the past number of years hadn't exactly been a vacation either…

I was strapping my legs to a tree branch to avoid falling off while asleep. I pulled my hat down more and tried to get some shut eye as the sun slowly set behind me.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when a roar shook the air. I looked around before spotting a lioness tearing across the grassy plain. Wondering what it was hunting, I shifted my gaze ahead if it.

Running with what could only be the lioness's cub in its jaws was a hyena, giggling in the creepy way they do. Three other hyenas flanked it, only to turn around when the lioness gained on them. It was an immediate bloodbath, with claws and teeth snagging any bits of flesh they could.

I sat up more, feeling concerned as the fourth hyena stopped to watch, the cub mewling pathetically for its mother. I scowled, feeling a few pulses of anger.

"Absolutely not." I grabbed my launcher from my belt, slapping my Beyblade on it. I tugged the rip cord, watching my Bey fly a few feet out before hitting the ground and speeding towards the hyenas. Without a single command from me, it knew exactly what to do.

Bolting for the hyena with the cub, it leaped, slamming into the hyena's head. The hyena let out a yelp and fell to the ground, unconscious. The cub fell as well. Thankfully looking unharmed, at least from a distance.

My Bey rushed the closest hyena and repeated the actions from before. This one had turned to see why its companion had cried out in pain and was able to duck away from the attack. My Bey landed and flashed its Facebolt's image, whipping up a harsh wind that smacked into the two closest hyenas.

They both snarled while regaining their balance and charged the strange attacker, only for another harsh wind to knock them off their feet. Another flash of light, and the air around it began to shimmer. The hyenas tried to get close, only to reel back and shake their heads in pain. The shimmering area grew in size and the hyenas found themselves unable to move as their heads rattled.

The lioness kicked the final hyena off of herself and pounced on it, grabbing it by its hind leg and swinging her head around. A sharp crack and a horrifying scream of pain signified that she broke its leg. She threw it to the side, roaring at it. It limped away, yelping and screaming.

The lioness turned to the others, only to stop. The rest of the hyenas were on the ground. The mewl of her cub snapped her out of it, and she ran over and checked on it.

My Bey moved towards me, startling the lioness as it swished through the grass. It leaped into the tree and landed on a branch near my shoulder before hopping into my hand. I smiled at it and closed my eyes. I felt eyes on me. The sensation didn't leave, so I looked around.

A pair of blue eyes met my gaze. I didn't dare breathe as the lioness stared from less than one hundred feet away. Lions could climb and this was the sturdiest tree in the area. Not to mention I was still tied to the branch. I didn't want to have to defend myself with my Bey.

Thankfully, she began walking off with her cub in her grasp. I felt fresh air fill my lungs. She kept glancing back, but soon disappeared into the grass.

I settled back and closed my eyes again, feeling good about my actions. Night fell, and I fell with it into the sweet embrace of sleep.

I awoke to the sounds of zebra nearby. I untied myself, threw my bag onto my back, and hopped down from the tree. Pulling my compass out and checking my directions, I groaned when I realized the lioness had gone in the same direction I was going. Lion territories could be hundreds of miles wide. I couldn't even guess where the invisible borders were. I could be in the middle of it for all I knew.

"Straight through I go," I muttered. Who knew, maybe the lioness could convince her pride to not eat me? Snorting at my own joke, I trudged forward, pointedly ignoring the zebra herd that had startled at my sudden appearance.

An hour went by and the sun rolled its way across the sky. I found a small creek that broke a jagged line in the tall grass. I splashed some water on my face and soaked my bandana before tying it around my neck, sighing in relief. It was getting hotter than the day before. I'd have to camp out until it cooled off a little, otherwise I'd be wasting water and energy. I refilled my water, grateful the creek was too small to house any semi-aquatic threats.

I froze with my canteen to my lips. My open hand went down to my belt and I gripped the handle there. A sharp bark came from across the stream and a wild dog leaped from the brush, teeth flashing in the sunlight.

I fell onto my back and kicked with both feet, solidly connecting with its chest. I rolled to the side when it lunged again and swung my arm at it. It leaped back with a yelp when my knife nicked its nose. I went to drop my canteen and go for my launcher.

A snarl on my right warned me just too late of another dog that tackled me. I let out my own cry as I was able to twist my wrist around, catching it in the leg. It bit down on the blade, only to yelp when it cut its own tongue.

I swung my canteen, splashing both dogs with whatever water was left, hoping to blind even one of them for half a second. They both snarled and pounced on me. It was all I could do to keep them off my throat. Their teeth and claws dug into my arms and sides as they scrambled for a good hold. I thrashed under them, pain fueled cries tearing from my throat.

The bones in my left forearm groaned under the overwhelming bite force. I was slipping into shock.

'No, FIGHT!' I gritted my teeth and grabbed my knife from my left hand. The dog on my right lunged forward, stabbing itself in the roof of its mouth. Right as it backed off, I swung with the bit of strength I had left, catching the dog that was gnawing on my left arm in the eye. It let out a horrifying sound.

"Get! BACK!" I roared. An explosion of purple fire washed from my body in all directions. The dogs screamed in fear and pain. Deciding I wasn't worth it, they took off.

I waited, tense, to see if it was a possible fake out. They didn't come back. My right arm fell to my side as I cradled my left arm against my chest. I gasped as tears flowed down my cheeks. Black spots filled my vision.

I had to stop the bleeding, at least. I set the knife down, painfully reaching for the straps on my bag. I undid them ever so slowly before sitting up just enough to pull my bag around to my right side, biting back cries of pain.

I barely managed to find my first aid kit before my strength failed me. I slumped against my bag, tears flowing freely from my eyes. I squeezed them shut as I finally succumbed to the pain. Small whimpers came from the back of my throat as I tried to find any strength to move.

"I'm sorry, Leone…"
