This is my first time writing a Pokémon story. Note that I don't own the Pokémon franchise, only the OCs. This will be exactly like the Pokémon show but with the inclusion of a male OC character and his name is Jake Serling.
Pokémon, I Choose You!
The Pokémon world, a world full of different creatures called Pocket Monsters or as we would like to call them: Pokémon. They come in different kinds of forms. Each of them have incredible powers. And then they're humans who catch them and become friends with them. They're called Pokémon trainers. We now go to Pallet Town where we see two boys at the age of 8 playing with each other in a front yard. One of them has black spiky hair and zigzag lines on his cheek. His name is Ash Ketchum. The other boy has black hair with a few blue streaks on it and green eyes. He even has fair skin. His name is Jacob Serling, but he prefers to be called Jake. The two boys have been best friends ever since they first met in Pokémon summer camp. They have gone on a lot of adventures exploring the forest and seeing different kinds of Pokémon. The two boys are currently lying on the grass in Ash's front yard watching the clouds in the sky.
"Hey! That cloud looks like a Bulbasaur" said Ash as he points at one of the clouds
"Cool. That cloud looks like a Caterpie" said Jake as he looks at a cloud that resembles a Caterpie
"I sure can't wait to be a Pokémon trainer and receive my first Pokémon." said Ash
"Me too, Ash. I am quite curious about what the world has to offer for us" said Jake
Ash turns to Jake
"Hey, Jake" said Ash "When we both become trainers, are we gonna travel together?"
"Of course, Ash" answered Jake "We are best friends after all. Wherever you go, I go too. That's a promise"
Ash smiles at what Jake said. Then, an adult woman with brown hair comes out of Ash's house. She is Delia Ketchum, Ash's mother.
"Hey boys, would you please come in? I made some snacks" said Delia
Ash's tummy begins to growl
"Oh boy, I sure can't wait for snacks" said Ash
"Me neither" said Jake
The two boys raced inside Ash's house. Delia shakes her head in amusement at the two boys
"Those two are so full of energy" commented Delia
[Cue Pokémon Theme]
2 years later
We now see a Nidorino battling against Gengar in a stadium filled with screaming fans. Nidorino begins to attack Gengar with Horn Attack.
"And Nidorino begins the battle with a Horn Attack" said the announcer. Gengar stomps off Nidorino and bounces to the other side of the stadium. "But Gengar bounces right back"
Gengar begins to use Hypnosis which makes Nidorino fall asleep
"And there it is. The Hypnosis power of Gengar"
Nidorino gets recalled by it's trainer.
"Wait. The trainer recalls Nidorino. Which Pokémon will he use next?"
The trainer throws another Poké Ball and out comes a rock snake Pokémon called Onix. Onix roars as it appears
"It's Onix!" said the announcer "Now this giant Pokémon is on the attack"
The Onix then begins to battle Gengar. It later reveals that the whole battle is seen on a television set in someone's living room. The one who's watching is none other than Jake Serling who is now 10 years old. He is seen wearing a red t-shirt and green pants. He was really excited about the battle going on.
"This battle is getting good!" said Jake "That's going to be me in that stadium someday"
"Jacob" said a female voice. Jake turns to see a woman coming up to him. She had black hair with blue streaks just like him and blue eyes. She was wearing a grey sweatshirt and blue pants. This is Jennifer Serling, his mother.
"Yes mom?" asked Jake
"It's time for bed" answered Jennifer
"Can I at least have five more minutes, please?" asked Jake
"Jacob, you know that you begin your Pokémon journey tomorrow. Which means you need to get some sleep. But if you want five more minutes, you should at least watch this" said Jennifer as she changes the channel on the T.V. The channel shows a program that features the famous Pokémon researcher: Professor Oak.
"Good evening, Pallet. Tomorrow's the big day for the newest class of Pokémon students." said Professor Oak
"After this is over, you go straight to bed. Okay?" asked Jennifer
"Yes, mom. Good Night" said Jake
"Good night, dear" said Jennifer as she left the living room.
"I'd like to introduce you to Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Each one is available for new trainees. Which one will you choose?" said Professor Oak.
After he finished watching Professor Oak's lecture on T.V., Jake brushed his teeth, changed into his pajamas, and went straight to bed. He still laid awake thinking about something.
'I sure can't wait to start my journey. I bet Ash is thinking the same thing. But still, I wonder which starter Pokémon I should get?', thought Jake. He then shrugged his shoulders. 'I guess I'll decide when that day comes.'
Jake closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep
The next day, morning came and a Dodrio crows as the sun was rising. At the Serling residence, Jennifer was cooking up some breakfast, while a man was setting up the table. He has blonde hair and green eyes and he was wearing a white shirt, brown pants, and green slippers. This is Gerald Serling, Jake's father. On the floor, is a Meowth who is eating it's Pokémon food.
"Everything is all set up, Jennifer" said Gerald
"That's great, dear. Now we just need to wait for the trainer of the hour to arrive" said Jennifer as she kissed him on the cheek
"Meow" said Meowth
Meanwhile in Jake's bedroom, we see a desk with laptop and some posters of different Pokémon and large Pikachu plush toy near a closet. We now see Jake who is sleeping peacefully. Just then, his alarm clock goes off. He hit the snooze button and with a yawn, wakes up. After blinking, he realizes what day it is.
"It's time. Today's the day!" said Jake. "I'm finally gonna be a trainer"
He bursts out of his room and into the bathroom where he brushed his teeth. He then heads downstairs to the kitchen where he sees his parents waiting for him
"Morning Mom. Morning Dad!" said Jake
"Good morning, Jacob" said Jennifer
"Morning son." said Gerald "Did you sleep well?"
"I sure did. And I sure can't wait for breakfast" said Jake. He turns to the Meowth "Hey, Meowth"
"Meow meow" said Meowth as it waves it's paw at him
"Well I hope you're hungry. I made your favorite: pancakes" replied Jennifer as she holds up the plate of pancakes.
"Oh boy!" said Jake in excitement
The family sat down at the table and begins to eat their breakfast. Jake was eating his pancakes a little fast
"Whoa. Slow down, son" said Gerald "You don't want to choke"
Jake swallows his pancakes
"Sorry, dad. I'm just very excited about getting my first Pokémon" answered Jake
"Speaking of, which Pokémon are you going to choose?" asked Jennifer
"I haven't decided yet. But I was thinking of picking a Squirtle or maybe a Bulbasaur." answered Jake
"Don't worry, kiddo. I'm sure when you get to Professor Oak's lab, you'll know which Pokémon will be the perfect partner for you." said Gerald
"Thanks, dad" said Jake with a smile
He finish his breakfast and goes back up to his bedroom. He then puts on a green hoodie with a Poké Ball symbol on it, black jeans, white socks, and blue and black shoes. He then comes downstairs where his parents are waiting.
"Looking good, son" said Gerald
"Thanks, dad. Well I guess this is it" said Jake
"Good luck, Jacob" said Jennifer as she gives him a hug
Jake smiles and hugs his mother back and walks out of the house. He smiles at the world outside as he makes his way to Professor Oak's lab. On the way, he stops by at Ash's house.
"I sure hope Ash knows what time it is today" said Jake. "I guess I'll wait for him at Professor Oak's"
He continues on his way to Professor Oak's lab when he hears a voice call out to him
"Hi Jake!"
Jake turns to see a a girl about his age running up to him. She has fair skin, brown eyes, and brown hair tied in a ponytail. She was wearing a black and white t-shirt, blue-green shorts with a red waistband and bow, and orange and white sneakers with yellow shoelaces, and finally a red and white baseball cap with a Poké ball logo on it. Jake smiles as he recognizes the girl.
"Elaine!" said Jake "How have you been?"
"I'm doing great" answered Elaine "Are you on your way to Professor Oak's lab?"
"I sure am. Shall we go together?"
"Sure" said Elaine
The two trainers then head to Professor Oak's lab
"By the way, where's Ash?" asked Elaine
"He's probably getting himself ready. Don't worry, Ash will catch up. I hope" answered Jake in worry
The two trainers then got to Professor Oak's lab where they see another person also there. He was a boy who is the same age as them. He has fair skin, brown eyes, and tall, brown spiky hair. He is wearing a long purple shirt, dark gray pants, a yin and yang necklace, and brown boots with black straps encircling them. This is Gary Oak
"Well well well. If it isn't Jakey boy" said Gary with a smirk
"Hello, Gary" said Jake with a frown
"And look who's with him. The lovely Elaine" said Gary
"Gary" said Elaine with a frown as she crossed her arms
"I see that you're right on time. But wait, I don't see that loser friend of yours, Ash. " said Gary
"Watch it, Gary!" shouted Jake
"That wasn't a very nice thing to say!" added Elaine
"Whatever. He's obviously late" said Gary. He then walks over to the laboratory with Jake and Elaine following after.
They walked up the stairs they made their way inside. They see an elderly man wearing an unbuttoned lab coat, red shirt, beige pants, and brown loafers. This is Professor Oak.
"Greetings" greeted the Pokémon Professor
"Hey gramps! I'm ready for my Pokémon!" said Gary
"Hello, grandson" sighed Professor Oak
"Hello, Professor Oak" said Jake
"Hi" said Elaine
"Hello Jake. Hello Elaine" said Professor Oak "I see you also came to get your starter Pokémon"
"We sure did" said Elaine
"Speaking of. I would like mine now!" said Gary
"Okay okay. No need to be impatient, Gary" said Professor Oak
He rolls over a trolley with three Poké Balls on it
"Here are the starter Pokémon you can choose from. Who will go first?" asked Professor Oak
"Me obviously. As the future Pokémon Master, I'm going first!" said Gary arrogantly
Gary picks one Poké Ball on the right and throws it. Out comes a tiny blue turtle like Pokémon called a Squirtle.
"Squirtle Squirt" said Squirtle
"Wow, a Squirtle" said Jake in awe
"It looks so cute" replied Elaine
Squirtle looks at Gary and jumps into his arms
"Ah, excellent choice, grandson. A water type like Squirtle will be a good choice for a trainer like you" said Professor Oak.
"Of course it will, gramps" said Gary
Professor Oak turns to the other trainers
"Who will go next?" asked Professor Oak
Jake and Elaine look at each other
"You can go next, Jake" said Elaine
"Um. Okay" said Jake
Jake walks up the trolley and observe the two remaining Poké Balls. After thinking it over, he chooses the one in the center
"Well, here we go" said Jake "Poké Ball go!"
He throws the Poké Ball and out comes a small dinosaur like creature with a bulb on it's back. This is a Bulbasaur
"Bulbasaur", it said
"Ah, a wise choice, Jake" said Professor Oak "Bulbasaur is a perfect Pokémon for beginning trainers like you"
Jake nods his head and kneels down at Bulbasaur
"Hi Bulbasaur" said Jake "I'm Jake, your new trainer"
Bulbasaur looks at Jake and smiles. Bulbasaur then jumps into his arms causing him to fall over. Jake giggles a bit
"I guess it likes you" replied Professor Oak
"Yeah, that is very cute" said Elaine "I guess I get the last Poké Ball"
She walks up to the trolley and picks up the last remaining Poké Ball and throws it. Out comes an orange lizard with a fire on it's tail. This is Charmander
"Charmander" it said
"Hey, it's a Charmander" said Jake
"Charmander? That's hot" replied Elaine
She looks at Charmander and smiles
"Hello" said Elaine
Charmander was a a little scared and backs away a bit
"I forgot to warn you, Elaine. Charmander is a little shy" said Professor Oak "Try to be a little gentle to it"
"Okay" Elaine said. She then kneels in front of Charmander and spoke in a soft voice. "Hey Charmander. Sorry for startling you. You want to be friends?"
Charmander looks at Elaine and approaches her slowly. He then allows Elaine to touch him. Elaine then rubs Charmander's head. Feeling Elaine's touch made Charmander feel calm
"Char" cooed Charmander
"She sure is gentle" asked Jake
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
"Now that you all have your first Pokémon, it's time I give you all somethings for your journey as Pokémon trainers" said Professor Oak
He leads the three humans and their Pokémon to another part of the lab. He gives each of them red rectangular devices.
"These are your Pokédexes. With these, you are all official Pokémon trainers. It will also allow you to get info on any new Pokémon you come across. Not to mention, it is also used as an ID if any official areas ask for it." explained Professor Oak.
"Cool" said Jake
Jake scans his Bulbasaur with his Pokédex
Jake's Pokédex: Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. A strange seed was planted on its back at birth. The plant sprouts and grows with this Pokémon.
"Wow. That's some good info" said Jake
"Let's see what it says about, Charmander" said Elaine as she scanned her Charmander with her Pokédex
Elaine's Pokédex: Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. The flame at the tip of its tail makes a sound as it burns. You can only hear it in quiet places.
"Cool" said Elaine
Gary then scans his Squirtle with his Pokédex
Gary's Pokédex: Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. Shoots water at prey while in the water. Withdraws into its shell when in danger.
"That sure sounds like my Squirtle" said Gary
"I will also be giving you five Poké Balls. With them, you will be able to capture new Pokémon on your journey" said Professor Oak as he hands the three trainers five Poké Balls each.
"Thanks, Professor" said Jake
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
Gary recalls his Squirtle back to his Poké Ball
"Well I better make some arrangements. See you around, losers" said Gary as he walks away
"Man. He is so full of himself" said Jake as he shakes his head
Bulbasaur nodded his head in agreement
"I know" said Elaine. "Well, I better get ready for my journey"
She returns Charmander to his Poké Ball. She then gives Jake a hug which makes him blush. She then lets go of him.
"I'll see you later, Jake" said Elaine as she walks out of the building
"Yeah, see ya" said Jake quietly
"Bulba" commented Bulbasaur
"Well, aren't you going?" asked Professor Oak
"Actually, Professor. I'm waiting for a friend of mine to come. Although he is late" said Jake
Meanwhile, at Ash's house...
"Oh no! What time is it?!" exclaimed Ash
He raced out of his house still in his pajamas and races off to Professor Oak's lab.

That's the first part of my Pokémon story. As you can see, some of the episodes will be split into different parts for both Ash and Jake. I did it because I was inspired by 19jchoi, when he made his Pokémon stories.
