Pokémon, I Choose You! Part 2
Previously on Pokémon: Adventures in Kanto, Jake has just received his first Pokémon from Professor Oak along with two other trainers: Elaine and Professor Oak's grandson, Gary. He is now waiting for his best friend, Ash to show up. Meanwhile, Ash is running late for his journey as a Pokémon trainer.
Ash is still running on the trail to Professor Oak's laboratory
"Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander. Anyone's fine. Just please save one for me!" said Ash as he continues running down the trail. He then sees a crowd of people surrounding someone.
Meanwhile, Jake and Bulbasaur were walking down the stairs
"What's taking Ash so long? I hope he's not sick." said Jake in worry
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur also in worry
They then heard a commotion coming from outside. Jake rushes to the door with Bulbasaur following behind. He opens the door to see his friend Ash talking to Gary and a crowd gathering around them.
"Well, Ash. You snooze, you loose. And you're way behind right from the start. I've got a Pokémon and you don't" taunted Gary
Jake frowned at Gary's attitude. Even Bulbasaur didn't like his attitude
"You... got your first Pokémon?" said Ash in shock
"That's right, loser and it's right inside this Poké Ball" said Gary as he spun the Poké Ball on his finger
All the spectators cheer while the cheerleaders cheer him on
"Let's go, Gary, let's go!" cheered the cheerleaders
"Thank you, fans! Thank you all for this great honor! I promise you that I will be become a Pokémon Master, and make the town of Pallet known all around the world!" Gary addressed to his fans with a pose. This made them all cheer
'Yeah right. In his dreams', thought Jake
"Excuse me?" asked Ash
"Yeah?" asked Gary in wonder
"I was just wondering if you can tell me what kind of Pokémon you got" said Ash
"None of your business! If you showed up on time like your friend Jake, you would've seen that I got the best Pokémon from Professor Oak. It's good to have a grandfather in the Pokémon business, isn't it?" Gary said with a smirk
Ash gasped 'Jake was here!?'
Gary then got inside a red convertible and drives away
"Thank you for coming to see history in the making! Now I, Gary Oak, am off to learn the ways of the Pokémon trainer!" called Gary
The crowd follow after the car, leaving Ash all by himself. Jake and his Bulbasaur then decides to go up to him. Ash gritted his teeth and clenched his fists.
"Ooh! I'll show you!" growled Ash
"He always did know how to rile you up, eh Ash?" said Jake surprising Ash
"Jake?" gasped Ash
"Hey buddy" greeted Jake
Ash smiles and runs up to him. He then gives him a hug which Jake returns
"You're still here. I thought you already left" said Ash
"And break the promise we made two years ago? No way." said Jake "Besides, it's no fun to travel without my best friend"
"True that" said Ash
Bulbasaur walks up
"Bulbasaur" greeted Bulbasaur
"Is that your Bulbasuar?" asked Ash
"He sure is. I got him as my starter Pokémon from Professor Oak" answered Jake. He turns to Bulbasaur "Bulbasaur, this is my best friend, Ash"
"Hi Bulbasaur. It's nice to meet you" said Ash
Bulbasaur greeted Ash and allowed him to pet it
"He sure is friendly" replied Ash
"Yep. By the way, Ash. Why were you late? And why are you in your pajamas?" asked Jake as he looked at Ash's pajamas
"Well, let's just say that I overslept. And I was in such a hurry to get a Pokémon, that I didn't have time to change clothes" answered Ash
"I see"
Professor Oak then came to the gate
"Oh. Hello, Ash. So you're one of the last of the four young ones starting their journeys today." Professor Oak greeted "Jake said that he was waiting for a friend. I guess he meant you"
"Yes. Professor Oak, where's my Pokémon? asked Ash
"Your Pokémon?" asked Professor Oak in puzzlement
"Yeah, I'm ready" replied Ash
"You look like you're ready for bed, not for Pokémon training. I hope you're not gonna train in your pajamas." said Professor Oak
"Please excuse him, Professor. He was just in a hurry" said Jake trying to be helpful
"Saur" said Bulbasaur
"He's right. I got messed up this morning, and I was a little late, but believe me, I'm ready for a Pokémon" insisted Ash
Back in Professor Oak's lab, the Professor opens a device that held three Poké Balls for Ash to pick. Jake and Bulbasaur watch this.
"I thought about it a lot and it took me a long time, but I've finally decided to choose Squirtle" said Ash as he picked a Poké Ball. But when it opened, the Poké Ball was empty
"Squirtle was already taken by someone who is on time" said Professor Oak
"Oh, I wish I hadn't overslept" said Ash as he put the empty Poké Ball down and picks another. "But now I will choose as my Pokémon, Bulbasaur"
But just like the other Poké Ball, it was also empty
"That Pokémon was also taken by someone who wasn't late" responded Professor Oak
"Sorry, buddy" said Jake
Ash just smiled, "That's okay, Jake. I guess it serves me right for oversleeping. I choose, Charmander"
He opens the last Poké Ball, but it was empty too
"I suppose the early bird gets the worm. Or in this case: the Pokémon" said Professor Oak
"Aw man, does this mean that there are no other Pokémon left for Ash?" asked Jake in disappointment
"Bulba bulba?" said Bulbasaur in worry also
"Well, I do have one left, but..." Professor Oak began
"Whatever Pokémon you have, Professor. I'll take it" interrupted Ash
The center of the pod opens to reveal a Poké Ball with a thunder symbol on it. Professor Oak picks it up
"I think I should warn you. There is a problem with this last one" said Professor Oak
"I must have a Pokémon" insisted Ash
"Well, okay" said Professor Oak as he gives Ash the Poké Ball
Jake and Bulbasaur walks up to see the Poké Ball open up and revealing a yellow light which forms into a yellow mouse with red cheeks, brown stripes on it's back, a small mouth, a bolt shaped tail, five fingers on it's hands, and three toes on it's feet.
"Pikachu" the yellow mouse said
"It's name is Pikachu" said Professor Oak
"Wow" said Jake
"Bulba" said Bulbasaur
"It's so cute. It's the best of all" said Ash in amazement
"Let's see what the Pokédex says" said Jake. He takes out his Pokédex and scans Pikachu
Jake's Pokédex: Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon. When several of these Pokémon gather, their electricity could build and cause lightning storms.
"Whoa. that's a lot of energy" commented Jake
Ash picks up Pikachu
"Hi, Pikachu. My name is Ash and I'm your new trainer" said Ash as he hugs it. But Pikachu didn't like it, so it zaps Ash
"Oh no, Ash!" exclaimed Jake
"It's also known as the Electric Mouse. It's usually shy, but can sometimes have an electrifying personality" explained Professor Oak. Pikachu then stops zapping Ash
"Are you okay, Ash?" asked Jake
"I'm fine" responded Ash
"Shocking isn't it?" asked Professor Oak
"You can say that again" said Jake
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
Professor Oak then gives Ash his Pokédex and six Poké Balls
"Here. Take these. You're Pokédex and Poké Balls" said Professor Oak
"Thank you!" said Ash as Pikachu zapped him again
"You're welcome!" said Professor Oak as he was zapped as well
Luckily, Jake and Bulbasaur was at a distance so they didn't get shocked. They watched this in worry
Jake and Bulbasaur then made their way back home where his parents are waiting for him.
"Hey son" said Gerald "I see you got your Pokémon"
"Yep. This is Bulbasaur" answered Jake "Bulbasaur, these are my parents"
"Bulba" greeted Bulbasaur
"It's so cute" said Jennifer as she picks it up "You really picked a fine Pokémon, honey"
"I sure did" said Jake "Now I'm ready to start my journey through Kanto with Ash"
"That's great, son" said Gerald "You two have always been inseparable ever since you were young. Now you are both about to take the next step"
"I know" said Jake
Bulbasaur then goes to the family's Meowth. It waves at Meowth with Meowth waving back.
After a few minutes of getting his things packed such as his tooth brush, clothes, sleeping bag, and other things in an orange backpack. Jake was ready to set off on his journey as a Pokémon trainer.
"Well I guess this is it" said Jake
"It's really gonna be lonely without you" said Jennifer with her eyes filled with tears "I'll miss you"
"Don't worry, mom. I'll be fine" assured Jake "Besides, I have Ash and Bulbasaur with me"
"Be careful out there, son" said Gerald "If you ever need anything, you can always give us a call"
"Thanks, dad" said Jake "I guess I'll be seeing you"
He rushes out of the house with Bulbasaur following behind. Jake's parents look on with smiles on their face. Jake and Bulbasaur then reaches the grassy area with an arrow sign that says Route 1
"Jake!" called Ash
Jake and Bulbasaur turns to see Ash now wearing a medium blue jacket with gold trim and white collar and sleeves, worn open over a dark teal t-shirt. He was also wearing jeans with light blue cuffs, black and white sneakers with red dots on both sides, a brown belt, and a red and white hat on his head. He was also pulling Pikachu with a rope and wearing rubber gloves
"You're weren't thinking about going without me are you?" asked Ash
"No way, Ash. I was just waiting for you" replied Jake "You ready?"
"Always, buddy" said Ash "Let's go!"
And with that, the two friends and their Pokémon set off on their journey
As the friends travel through Route 1, Jake finally notices Ash pulling Pikachu with a rope
"Um, why are you pulling Pikachu like that?" asked Jake
"Saur?" asked Bulbasaur
"Because Pikachu doesn't want to go with me." answered Ash "So I have to drag him along"
"I see. And what's with those gloves?" asked Jake
"They're made of rubber. If I wear these, then I won't get zapped again" responded Ash
"That's smart" commented Jake "Rubber does block electricity"
"Bulba" said Bulbasaur
Ash stops causing Jake and Bulbasaur to stop as well. Ash turns to Pikachu.
"Pikachu, are you gonna be like this the whole way?" asked Ash
Pikachu turns away with a scoff
"Is it because you don't like me? Ash asked
"Pi" replied Pikachu
"Well, what about me? Do you like me, Pikachu?" asked Jake
Pikachu shakes his head causing Jake to sigh
Bulbasaur then comes up to Pikachu
"Bulba bulba?" asked Bulbasaur
Pikachu looks at Bulbasaur and then nods his head
"Pika pika" said Pikachu causing Bulbasaur to smile
"I guess that answers that" said Jake
"Well, I like you a lot" said Ash "And since you're the Pokémon I'm training, don't you think you can be a little nicer and just open your mouth and tell me what's wrong?"
Pikachu opens his mouth
"That's not what he meant" said Jake
"Is your name all you can say?" asked Ash
Pikachu nods his head
"Ash, you do know that some Pokémon don't speak human language like us" reminded Jake
"Saur saur" said Bulbasaur
"I get it, Jake. Well since you're like all Pokémon, Pikachu, you should act like one, and get inside the Poké Ball just like it says in the Pokédex" said Ash as he takes out his Pokédex
Ash's Pokédex: While being trained, a Pokémon usually stays inside it's Poké Ball
"You see" said Ash
"That's not entirely true, Ash" said Jake
Pikachu jumps and presses a button on the Pokédex
Ash's Pokédex: However, there are many exceptions. Some Pokémon hate being confined
"See?" asked Jake
"Okay, this ought to make things better" said Ash as he untied Pikachu and also removed his rubber gloves. "And I'll get rid of these. Now how's that"
Ash sticks out his finger to Pikachu, but Pikachu still turns away
"Still not good enough?" asked Ash
"Pika" replied Pikachu
"Don't worry Ash, I'm sure Pikachu will warm up to you" said Jake attempting to cheer his friend up "You just need to be patient"
The two friends heard a noise. They turn to see a small birdlike Pokémon pecking the ground
"Look, it's a Pidgey" said Jake
Ash takes out his Pokédex and scans Pidgey
Ash's Pokédex: Pidgey is a Flying Pokémon. Among all the Flying Pokémon, it is the gentlest and easiest to capture. A perfect target for the beginning Pokémon Trainer to test his Pokémon's skills.
"This is great" said Ash as he puts his Pokédex away "It's our lucky day! Pikachu, go get it!
Pikachu refuses to obey his command. Jake and Bulbasaur both sweat drop at this
"Aren't you ever gonna listen to me?" asked Ash
"Chu" said Pikachu
"But why not?" asked Ash
Instead of answering him, Pikachu scurries off and climbs up a tree and yawns
"Well, that happened" said Jake
"Saur" said Bulbasaur
"Fine, be that way! I don't want your help or need it. I'll capture Pidgey all by myself" said Ash
'Something tells me that this isn't going to end well' thought Jake
Ash takes off his backpack and takes an empty Poké Ball from his belt .
"Okay, I've pledged to capture all the Pokémon in world. Now I'm ready to take the next step to be the number one... Pokémon Master." said Ash as he enlarges his Poké Ball. Pidgey looks at him. "Enjoy your last moments of freedom, Pidgey. Because you're mine!"
Ash turns his cap backwards
"Poké Ball go!" said Ash as he throws the Poké Ball
The Poké Ball hits Pidgey and sucks it in
"Yes, I did it!" said Ash proudly
"I wouldn't be celebrating just yet, Ash" said Jake as he and Bulbasaur walked up to him
"How come?" asked Ash in confusion
Jake points and Ash looks in the direction he is pointing. The Poké Ball shakes several times until the Pidgey breaks out. The Poké Ball then flew back with Ash catching it. The Pidgey then scurries into the grass.
"What happened?" asked Ash
"It's quite simple, Ash" explained Jake "You need to weaken a wild Pokémon first before you can successfully catch it. If you capture a wild Pokémon without battling it, then it will break out easily"
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
Ash takes out his Pokédex
Ash's Pokédex: To capture a Pokémon, you usually have your own Pokémon battle with another
"I guess you were right on that one, buddy" said Ash
"You know, Ash. I could lend you my Bulbasaur so you can capture Pidgey easily" offered Jake
Bulbasaur nods his head in agreement
"Thanks, Jake. But I have a better idea" said Ash
"And what would that be?" asked Jake
"Just watch" said Ash as he looks at his backpack
Ash then takes out his pajamas and sneaks over to Pidgey. Jake and Bulbasaur both watches this in confusion
"Okay... Just be quiet... there's nothing to be afraid of" said Ash as he got near the Pidgey. Pidgey spots him
"Hi little friend..." said Ash "Sorry buddy!"
He placed his pajamas right on top of the Pidgey. But then Pidgey makes a blast of wind of free itself which spins Ash flinging him off. He then hit the grassy ground. Jake and Bulbasaur rushes over to his side.
"Ash, are you alright?" ask Jake
"I'm okay. But what was that?" replied Ash
Ash's Pokédex: Pidgey's Gust power creates tornadoes. It also has a Sand Attack.
"Sand?!" exclaimed both Ash and Jake
Pidgey uses Sand Attack on both of the boys and flew off. Jake coughs from it
"This is not my lucky day" said Ash
"Saur saur" said Bulbasaur
Pikachu giggles at the two boys. Ash and Jake both glared at Pikachu as they dusted themselves off. Jake then notices something
"Hey, Ash. There's something in your bag" said Jake
Ash turns to see a purple rat like creature called Rattata rummaging through his bag
"Hey! Get outta there!" yelled Ash as he chased it away and grabbed his bag
"Let's see what that Pokémon is" said Jake as he took out his Pokédex
Jake's Pokédex: A Forest Pokémon, Rattata. It likes cheese, nuts, fruits, and berries.
"But this isn't a forest. It's an open field" said Ash
Jake's Pokédex: It also comes out into open fields to steal food from stupid travelers.
"Hey!" yelled Jake in offense
"That means... I'm stupid" asked Ash in bewilderment
Pikachu laughs at them both.
"Bulba!" yelled Bulbasaur causing Pikachu to be startled
"What do you suppose that means?" asked Ash
"If I were to guess, Bulbasaur was just telling Pikachu to stop laughing at us" said Jake "Am I right?"
"Bulbasaur saur" said Bulbasaur as his trainer got it right
"Aw thanks, Bulbasaur" said Ash as he rubbed Bulbasaur's bulb
Bulbasaur sighs as the rubbing felt good to it. Seeing this, Pikachu scoffs and turns away
"Pidgey"
"Pidgey"
The two boys turn to see three Pidgey appear in the grass ahead. Seeing this, Ash and picks up a pebble and throws it at them causing them to fly away. Ash then notices a shape that looks like a bird. Thinking it's a Pidgey, Ash picks up another pebble.
"I'll get you this time" said Ash
But Jake immediately recognizes the shape of the bird.
"Um, Ash. I wouldn't do that if I were you" said Jake nervously
But it was too late, Ash hurled the pebble and hit the bird causing it to have a bump on it's head.
"I got it" said Ash
The bird turns around reveal another bird Pokémon
"What is that Pokémon" asked Ash
"That's a Spearow" answered Jake
Ash took out his Pokédex and scanned Spearow
Ash's Pokédex: Unlike Pidgey, Spearow has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokémon and humans.
"Don't forget that Spearows have a pretty short temper if provoked" informed Jake
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
The boys sees the angry Spearow charging at them
"Incoming!" yelled Jake
The two boys got out of the way. Ash ran to his backpack and defended himself from Spearow's Peck attack.
"Bulbasaur, quick. Help, Ash!" ordered Jake
Bulbasaur nods his head and leaps at Spearow, tackling it away.
"Thanks, Bulbasaur" said Ash gratefully
Spearow shakes off the attack from Bulbasaur and then begins to target Pikachu.
"It's after, Pikachu!" exclaimed Jake
Spearow begins to attack Pikachu, but he dodges all of it's attacks
"Hey, leave Pikachu alone! It didn't throw the rock!" shouted Ash
Ash's Pokédex: Wild Pokémon tend to be jealous of human trained Pokémon
Pikachu continues to dodges Spearow's attacks, but the last attack nearly knocked him off the branch
"Pikachu!" shouted Ash and Jake
Pikachu uses Thundershock to zap Spearow making it shrieked in pain. It then falls to the ground
"Good job, Pikachu. You got it" praised Jake
"Saur" said Bulbasaur
Pikachu smiled at the praise that Jake gave it and nods it's head. Suddenly, Spearow recovers from the Thundershock
"Spearow!" Spearow shouted
"What's going on?" asked Ash
"I think Spearow is calling for reinforcements. From what I read, Spearow's shrieks can be heard over a kilometer away. It's used to warn other Spearows of danger" explained Jake
Just then a flock of Spearows flew out of a tree and right towards them.
"Uh-oh" said Ash in worry
"Run!" shouted Jake as he took off down Route 1
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur as it follows after him
"Wait for me, Jake!" yelled Ash as he and Pikachu follows after him.
The two friends and their Pokémon ran past some wild Sandshrews and Mankeys as the Spearows flew after them. Jake turns back to see the Spearows getting closer
"They're getting closer! We need to run faster!" shouted Jake
"I'm going as fast as I can, Jake" replied Ash. He looks at his Pikachu. "Don't worry, Pikachu, no matter what, I'll save you"
But Pikachu ran right ahead along with Bulbasaur who is trying to outrun the Spearows
"Hey! Don't run ahead, I said I'd protect-Ow!" exclaimed Ash as one of the Spearows attacked him. Just then, two Spearows begin to peck at Jake.
"Ow! Hey! Get away, you pesky Spearows!" shouted Jake as he swats them away
Other Spearows then targeted Bulbasaur. Bulbasaur attempts to fight them off by tackling some of them, but they soon begin to peck at it which causes major damage. Jake gasps in horror. He looks down to see a stick. He picks it up and charges at them.
"Hey! Leave my Bulbasaur alone!" he shouted as he swung the stick to scare them off. He then drops the stick and picks up Bulbasaur who has some bruises on it
"Bulbasaur, are you okay?" asked Jake in worry. "Speak to me"
"Saur" replied Bulbasaur weakly
"Oh man. Those Spearows really did a number on you" said Jake. "Don't worry, I'll get you help. Return for now"
He takes out Bulbasaur's Poké Ball and returns him to it. He then begins to look for his friend.
"Ash! Where are you?" called Jake
"Over here, Jake!" Ash called back
Jake rushes over to Ash who is holding onto a very injured Pikachu
"Oh no! Pikachu!" exclaimed Jake "We got to get it some help"
"I know" replied Ash
They turn to see the Spearow flock coming at them
"Quick, let's move!" said Jake as he takes off with Ash following behind. After going through a bush, the two friends ends up at the side of a cliff with a waterfall nearby. Jake looks back and then down at the water.
"We're gonna have to jump" he told Ash
"What!?" exclaimed Ash in surprise
"Well, would you rather deal with that flock of angry Spearows coming at us?" Jake questioned
Seeing that Jake has a point, Ash decides to follow with his plan.
"All right. Let's go!" said Ash as he turns his cap backwards
"On the count of three. We jump. One, Two, Three!" yelled Jake as he and Ash jumped into the water.
The two boys were swept away by the current. They notice a blue serpent like Pokémon coming towards. They both got out of the way but got separated. Jake notices a rock nearby and grabs it. But then his fingers started to slip as Jake gets pulled by the current. But then, Jake felt something bumped him in the back and he fully grabs the rock and climbs to the surface. Jake then lies on his back and catch his breath.
"Are you okay?"
Jake turns to see a girl with orange hair tied in a side ponytail. She wears a yellow tank top that reveals her midriff, red suspenders, denim shorts that stop at her thighs and red high top sneakers with yellow lining and white laces.
"Yeah, I'm fine" answered Jake
Just then the girl sees her fishing pole being tugged.
"Hold that thought" she said. She runs over to her fishing pole and grabs it. "Hey! I got a bite! Oh wow! I think it's a really think this could be a big one."
She yanks the rod up and Ash and Pikachu came out of the water and lands on the surface
"Nah, it's just a kid" said the girl
"Ash!" exclaimed Jake as he ran over to them.
"You know him?" asked the girl
"Yeah. He's my best friend" said Jake. He turns to Ash. "You okay, buddy?"
"I'm good, Jake" answered Ash
The girl notices Pikachu in Ash's arms and hops over to them
"A Pokémon" gasped the girl. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm okay" answered Ash
"I meant your Pokémon, not you" scolded the girl "Look what you've done to that poor little thing."
"Hey, my friend would never harm any Pokémon unless in battle." said Jake defending his friend. "He and I both love Pokémon. And besides, he didn't do this to Pikachu. A flock of Spearows did that"
"Oh, I see" said Misty in surprise. "Is it breathing?"
"Uh, I think so" answered Ash
"Well don't just sit there. It needs a doctor right away. There's a medical center not too far from here. You have to get moving now" the girl urges
"You mean a hospital" asked Ash as he stood up
"Yes for Pokémon" answered the girl
"It's called the Pokémon Center, Ash" informed Jake. "Whenever your Pokémon is injured or exhausted, you can take them there to be healed"
"Wow, how do you know that?" asked Ash
"Let's just say I read during my spare time" answered Jake
"I see", said Ash. He then askes the girl, "Can you tell us which way should we go?"
"That way" the girl said as she points the way
"Thank you" said Jake
Suddenly, they see the flock of Spearows heading their way
"Oh no! They found us!" shouted Jake
"Run!" shouted Ash as he races over to a bike and puts Pikachu in the basket
"Hey! What are you doing?" asked the girl as Ash got on the bike
"I'm borrowing this" said Ash as he rode away
"But that's my bike!" yelled the girl
"I'll bring it back someday!" Ash called back
"I'm really sorry about this." apologized Jake as he ran after his friend. "Wait for me, Ash!"
"Oh, you." groaned the girl
Unbeknownst to anyone, a blue Pokémon emerged from the water to see the boy running off.
"Vapor", it said
Jake was running through the forest attempting to catch up to Ash. Just then, he notices the Spearows getting closer
"They just don't know when to take a hint" commented Jake
Suddenly, he tripped and fell to the ground. Some of the Spearows dive at him, Jake closes his eyes at they got close. But a Water Gun pushes them back. Jake opens his eyes to see a blue Pokémon jump in front of him. It has dark blue marking around its head and a spiky ridge down its spine. It has black eyes and a tiny black nose. There is a white fin encircling its neck and three fins with cream-colored webbing on its head, making it look like it has ears and a dorsal fin. It also has a tail fin that makes it look like a mermaid's tail.
"Vaporeon" said the Pokémon
"A Vaporeon?" asked Jake as he recognizes it. He takes out his Pokédex and scans it
Jake's Pokédex: Vaporeon, the Bubble Jet Pokémon. Its cell structure is similar to water molecules. It will melt away and become invisible in water.
"Wow it's rare to see one of the evolved forms of Eevee. Let alone a wild one" said Jake
One of the Spearows dive at Vaporeon with a peck, but it sprayed Water Gun at it. Then another one attacked Vaporeon, but it dodges it's attack and tackles it. After another Water Gun was sprayed at them, the Spearows then gave up and flew away. Jake smiles as he looks at Vaporeon
"Thanks, Vaporeon. You saved my life" said Jake with a smile
Vaporeon nods it's head
It then starts to rain. Jake then gets up
"Sorry to run, Vaporeon. But my friend needs me" said Jake as he runs off
Vaporeon watches him run and after a few seconds decides to go after him. Jake races through the forest under the flock of Spearows. Some of them sees him and attacks him, but he dodges their attacks. Jake keeps going until he sees Ash and Pikachu on the ground with the bike overturned.
"Ash!" yelled Jake as he runs up to his friend. "Are you okay?"
"I am" answered Ash, "But Pikachu isn't"
"This can't end this way" said Jake as the flock Spearows got nearer
"I know" said Ash as he takes out Pikachu's Poké Ball and enlarges. "Pikachu, you need to get inside. I know you hate being in there, but you gotta get inside!"
"Please, Pikachu. For your own safety, you have to go in. We'll deal with those Spearows" added Jake
The two friends stood up and held their hands out
"Spearows, do you know who I am?! I am Ash Ketchum from the town of Pallet! And I'm destined to be the number one Pokémon Master! I can't be defeated by the likes of you. I'm gonna capture and defeat you all! Ash yelled to the Spearows
"And my name is Jake Serling! I am also from Pallet Town. Like my friend, I am also going to be a Pokémon Master. And together, we'll capture and battle everyone of you! Cause we'll neve give up!", yelled Jake
"Pikachu please! You have to get inside! It's the only way!" urged Ash as Pikachu grew both touched and hesitant.
"Bring it on!" shouted Ash and Jake
Just as the Spearows got closer, everything went into slow motion as Pikachu goes over, climbs onto Ash, and leaps off his shoulders as goes straight at the Spearows. While in midair, Pikachu gets charged by a lightning bolt and unleashed a massive Thundershock which hits all the Spearows and cause an explosion. It was so strong that it blows Ash and Jake back. The rain stopped and Vaporeon arrived just in time to see what happened. The girl's bike was charred by the explosion and the two trainers lied on the ground Jake was lying on his back while Ash and Pikachu lied next to each other. Worried about Jake, Vaporeon scurried over to him.
"Vaporeon" said Vaporeon as it tried to wake him
Jake slowly opens his eyes and sit up. He then sees Vaporeon
"Oh hey, Vaporeon. I didn't expect you to follow me" said Jake with a smile
Vaporeon smiled as it is happy that Jake is okay. They turn to see Ash and Pikachu waking up.
"Well, we beat em" said Ash
"Chu" said Pikachu
"That was some power. Eh, Ash?" said Jake
"It sure was, buddy" answered Ash
They heard a noise as they looked up in the sky to see a bird-like Pokémon flying past them.
"What is that?" asked Ash
"No idea" replied Jake
Ash's Pokédex: There is no known data. There is still Pokémon left to identify
"Whatever that Pokémon is, I hope we see it again" said Jake
"Vapor" said Vaporeon
Ash then notices Vaporeon
"Hey, is that a Vaporeon?" asked Ash in surprise
"It sure is, Ash" said Jake. "One of the evolved forms of Eevee"
"Wow. I didn't expect to see a wild Vaporeon here" said Ash
"Me neither" replied Jake "It is quite rare"
"Vaporeon, vapor" Vaporeon said to Jake as it points it's paw at him
"Really?" asked Jake in surprise
"What is it saying?" asked Ash
"I think Vaporeon wants to come with me" said Jake "Am I right?" he asked Vaporeon
Vaporeon smiles and nods it's head
"Well, I do owe you for saving me from those Spearows" said Jake. "Okay. You can join me Vaporeon"
He takes out an empty Poké Ball, enlarges it, and holds it in front of Vaporeon. It then touches the Poké Ball with it's paw and is sucked inside. The Poké Ball shakes and then locks.
"Yes! My first catch. I got a Vaporeon!" exclaimed Jake as he held up it's Poké Ball.
"That's awesome, Jake!" said Ash. He then looks down. "Now if only I got my first catch"
"Don't worry, Ash. I'm sure you'll get your first Pokémon soon." said Jake as he stood up. "But for now, how about we get Pikachu to a Pokémon Center?"
Ash nods his head as he also stood up and picks up Pikachu. The two trainers then walking down the road until they see a city ahead of them. They turned to each other and smiled as they continue on. This is only the beginning for the Ash and Jake as they will soon encounter new friends, evil villains, and meet all kinds of different Pokémon in the incredibe world of Pokémon.
