Pokémon Emergency
Last time, our heroes Ash and Jake both started their journeys as Pokémon trainers. Ash also has trouble bonding with Pikachu who doesn't like him at first. Then they get chased by a flock of angry Spearows after Ash accidentally provoked one. Meanwhile Jake was saved by a wild Vaporeon when the Spearows attacked him. As Jake caught up to Ash, Pikachu unleashed a powerful Thundershock to scare off the Spearows which left him weak. Vaporeon then decides to come with Jake and allows him to capture it. Our heroes are currently on their way to the next city.
In Viridian City, a police woman was seen announcing something on the speaker. She was wearing a purple cap with a black rim, red top, and gold star, a purple collared shirt with red trim, a sky blue chestpiece, and gold shoulder pads, a black purse, a matching belt with a gold buckle, a purple skirt, black heel shoes, and white gloves. Her name is Officer Jenny
"Attention citizens of Viridian City. Attention citizens of Viridian City. We have reports of possible Pokémon thieves in our area. Be on the lookout for suspicious looking stranger. Repeat- Be on the lookout for suspicious looking..." announced Officer Jenny before she saw Ash and Jake running through the streets
"Speak of the devil" she said puzzled
Ash was holding Pikachu while Jake was running alongside him
"Good thing we made it to Viridian City, Ash" said Jake "Now we just need to get to the Pokémon Center"
"You hear that, Pikachu? Just hang tight" Ash said to the injured Pikachu
But just as they ran past the police station, Officer Jenny grabs them both from behind
"Hold it you two. And just where do you think you're going with that Pokémon, young man?" Officer Jenny asked
"It's my Pokémon and it's hurt. And I gotta get it to the hospital right away!" explained Ash
"Easy, Ash. That's Officer Jenny you're talking to" said Jake as he puts his hand on Ash's shoulder. "But he's right, officer. You see Pikachu was attacked by a flock of Spearows on the way here. And all my Pokémon are in their Poké Balls"
"Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you might be stealing them. Just show me your IDs and you can all go" said Officer Jenny
"ID? Uh. I don't have any ID. You see we just came from Pallet Town and.." began Ash, but is interrupted by Officer Jenny
"You know, you two are the fourth and fifth person I've seen from Pallet Town" explained Officer Jenny
"Fourth?" asked Ash
"Fifth?" asked Jake
"That means Gary Oak is here already" said Ash
"And possibly Elaine too" said Jake
"It's very unusual for someone to carry a Pokémon around in it's arms and not in a Poké Ball. How do I know you didn't steal that Pokémon. Especially since you don't have any identification?" asked Officer Jenny suspiciously
"Now hold on a minute, Officer Jenny" said Jake. "My friend is no thief. And if you want identification, here it is"
He takes out his Pokédex and shows it to her
Jake's Pokédex: I am Dexter, a Pokédex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokémon Trainer: Jake Serling of the town of Pallet. My function is to provide Jake with information and advice regarding Pokémon and their training. If lost or stolen, I cannot be replaced.
"Whoa. How did you...?" asked Ash
"Ash, our Pokédexes serve as our ID. Try using yours" instructed Jake
"Well, okay" replied Ash as he took out his Pokédex out and shows it to Officer Jenny
Ash's Pokédex: I am Dexter, a Pokédex programmed by Professor Oak for Pokémon Trainer: Ash Ketchum of the town of Pallet. My function is to provide Ash with information and advice regarding Pokémon and their training. If lost or stolen, I cannot be replaced.
"What do you know? It worked" said Ash in astonishment
"Okay, you two are clear" said Officer Jenny
"Thanks, officer" said Jake. "Now can you let us go to the Pokémon Center so we can help Pikachu?"
"I'll get you two there in no time at all" Officer Jenny said with a wink
The garage of the police station open up to reveal Officer Jenny on her motorcycle. Ash and Pikachu sat in the side car while Jake sat behind Officer Jenny
"Sit back, hold on, and don't yell, you two" instructed Officer Jenny.
She revved up her motorcycle and drives off. Jake had to hold onto the female officer's waist so that he wouldn't fall off. As the motorcycle sped off to the Pokémon Center, the same orange haired girl that Ash and Jake met back in Route 1 appeared and is carrying her burnt bike.
"Hey! What's the big idea!? Come back here!" she shouted as she chased after them.
It is nighttime as Officer Jenny is driving her motorcycle through the city.
"How much further is it to the Pokémon Center?" asked Jake
"You don't have to worry about that, kid." said Officer Jenny, "Cause it's right there"
Officer Jenny points at a large building they are approaching
"The Pokémon Center. It's gigantic" said Ash
"I know" replied Jake
"This is tricky. Hold on Here we go!" said Officer Jenny
She hops her motorcycle into the entryway and right inside the Pokémon Center and stops at the front desk. Behind it is a woman with pink hair. This is Nurse Joy
"We have a driveway, you know" said Nurse Joy
"This is a Pokémon emergency" urged Officer Jenny
"Please help it!" pleaded Ash as he stood up
"Looks like a Pikachu. We'll do what we can" said Nurse Joy as she begins to type on the computer. "I need a stretcher for a small electric Pokémon, stat"
"Excuse me. Can you also heal my Pokémon too?" asked Jake as he got off the motorcycle, "My Bulbasaur was also injured as well"
"Sure, young man" said Nurse Joy as she takes out a tray. "Place you Poké Balls here and we'll take care of them"
Jake takes out his Poké Balls with his Bulbasaur and Vaporeon inside and places them on the tray. Just then, two large pink Pokémon called Chansey arrived with a stretcher.
"Chansey" they said
Jake takes out his Pokédex and scans them
Jake's Pokédex: Chansey, the Egg Pokémon. A gentle and kind-hearted Pokémon that shares its nutritious eggs if it sees an injured Pokémon.
Nurse Joy places Pikachu on the stretcher as she takes the try that holds Jake's Poké Balls and gives it one of her Chanseys.
"It'll be okay. Rush this Pokémon to the critical care unit. And heal these Pokémon as well" Nurse Joy told Chansey. The two Chanseys did what she said as they take the Poké Balls and rolled Pikachu away. Nurse Joy begins to put on pink gloves.
"We'll begin the treatment right away" assured Nurse Joy
Ash was about to speak
"Who are you boys" asked the nurse
"Their names are Ash and Jake. They are both the Pokémons' trainers" Officer Jenny answered
"If there's anything we can do. Please just tell us" said Ash
"You two can be more responsible! If you two want to be Pokémon trainers, you don't let your Pokémon battle till it's in this condition", scolded Nurse Joy
"But you don't know what happened!" protested Ash
"He's right, Nurse Joy. We were on our way here until we got attacked by a flock of angry Spearows. So we had to escape while they attacked us" explained Jake as he defended his friend.
"I see. But what's past is past. Now we have to heal your Pokémon." said Nurse Joy
"But what can we do?" asked Ash
"Just leave everything to me" assured Nurse Joy
"Please" pleaded Ash with a small bow
Jake nods his head sadly
"It's in you hands! I know you'll give those three Pokémon excellent care" said Officer Jenny with a salute
"You got it here just in time" complimented Nurse Joy with a smile
"That's my job!" said Officer Jenny "Oh my goodness! I left my motorcycle parked at the front desk"
"Next time, use the driveway" reminded Nurse Joy
Officer Jenny laughs nervously and heads out
"Ash, Jake. You two will have to go to the waiting room" said Nurse Joy as she went inside the emergency room
"Can't I...?" asked Ash but the door closes
"Don't worry, Ash. I'm sure Nurse Joy knows what she is doing" Jake said to his friend
'Pikachu', thought Ash in worry
'Bulbasaur', thought Jake
As time passed, the two friends were waiting for their Pokémon to be healed. Jake glanced at the door
"I sure hope Bulbasaur is okay in there", he said
"Jake, be honest with me" Ash said. "Do I stink as a trainer?"
"You don't stink. Why would you ask that?" asked Jake
"I caused a big mess by throwing that rock at that Spearow. And now both Pikachu and Bulbasaur are injured by that flock", said Ash sadly. "Some Pokémon trainer I turn out to be"
"Hey, don't beat yourself up, Ash" assured Jake. "You just made a mistake. Why I'm sure some trainers make mistakes as well. If you learn from your mistakes, then you will find a way to improve yourself"
"You really think so?" asked Ash
"I know so" said Jake "Someday, you're going to be a good Pokémon trainer. And so will I"
Ash felt a little better
"Thanks, Jake" said Ash as he notices some phones. "I'll call home"
"I'll do that too" said Jake
The two friends went to separate phones. Jake calls his house. His mother answers it. She was dressed in her pajamas
"Hello. Serling Residence." said Jennifer
"Hi mom. It's me" answered Jake
"Oh hi, Jacob" greeted Jennifer
"Mom, you know you can just call me Jake." said Jake a little annoyed. "I'm calling to let you know that Ash and I have made it to Viridian City. We are currently in the Pokémon Center. I also caught my first Pokémon"
"That's great. You're really starting to become a fine trainer. Almost like your father" said Jennifer with tears in her eyes
"I know. Where is he by the way?" asked Jake
"He already went to bed. I'll tell him in the morning" answered Jennifer "By the way, how is Ash?"
"Ash is okay. But he is starting to question if he is a capable trainer. Did dad the feel the same way?" Jake wondered
"Well there were times when your father felt like giving up when he was a trainer, but I was always there to remind him that he needs to have confidence and keep pushing on. I'm sure Ash will learn the same thing, Jacob" replied Jennifer
"Thanks for telling me, mom" said Jake. "I'll see you later. I love you"
"Good night, sweetie. I love you too" said Jennifer as Jake hung up
After calling their folks, the two friends notice four stone murals of different Pokémon on the wall.
"Hey Jake, check this out" said Ash as they head over to it. Ash looked at one of them on the top right corner. "That's the flying Pokémon we saw"
"I don't think that's the flying Pokémon, Ash" replied Jake. "By the looks of it, it's a different one entirely"
"Really?" asked Ash in surprise
"Yeah, one of them I recognize is an Arcanine while the other ones seem to be bird Pokémon of different elements" answered Jake
Before Ash can say anything, there was a phone call from the computer
"Ring-ring-ring! Phone call, phone call!" beeped the computer
"Now, who can that be?" wondered Jake
Ash pressed the phone button on the computer as he answers it
"This is Ash and Jake. Who's calling?" asked Ash
"Here! I'm over here!" said the voice of Professor Oak.
The two boys turn to see the bottom right tile going down to reveal a screen. They see Professor Oak from behind contacting them as he was cooking ramen.
"Ash! Jake! It's Professor Oak. Don't you two recognize me" the professor asked. Seeing the screen caused the boys to sweat drop
"No offense, Professor, but we can see your back", replied Jake
Professor Oak looks back to see the other camera from behind him. He begins to realize his mistake
"Oops! Sorry! Wrong camera!", yelped Professor Oak as he shot off the back camera so that he can contact them in front. "There, that's better. I just spoke with your mothers and they told me you made it to the Pokémon Center in Viridian City. Am I correct?"
"You would be right", answered Jake
"We wouldn't be talking to you, if we weren't here" added Ash
"I see. I dialed the Viridian City Pokémon Center and you were able to answer" guessed Professor Oak
"You guessed right, Professor" said Jake. "That's where we are"
"I guess that proves it. Ahem... The other new Pokémon trainers made it there with no problem. And I am pleasantly surprised that you two got here so soon." informed Professor Oak. "I admit when you two left, I had my doubts that you could handle your Pikachu, but when my grandson Gary said you wouldn't have a single new Pokémon by the time you got to Viridian City. I bet him a million dollars that he'd be wrong!"
This caused Ash to yelp
"Actually, Professor" began Jake. "I did caught a Pokémon on the way here. It's a Vaporeon, one of the evolved forms of Eevee"
"Why that's splendid, Jake!" said Professor Oak grinned. "Although, it is kind of rare to see a wild Vaporeon"
"I know. By the way, Professor. We saw a flying Pokémon like that one. It flew right over the rainbow" said Ash as he pointed to the top picture underneath the screen
"Don't talk such nonsense. You two couldn't have seen this Pokémon. Trainers have searched their whole lives and never seen it" Professor Oak said in disbelief
"Professor, he's telling the truth. I was there. We know what we saw" replied Jake
"You two must've been mistaken" said Professor Oak until he heard the doorbell. "Oh! There's my pizza. Coming!"
The Pokémon Professor leaves the screen but then comes back to say goodbye to the two trainers.
"It was very nice talking to you, Ash. You too, Jake. Good luck to you both. Mmm. Anchovy, spinach, and pineapple pizza" said Professor Oak as the screen shuts off
"Yeah. Thank you" muttered Jake
"NOW I"VE GOT YOU!"
An angry voice got both Ash and Jake's attention
Both Ash and Jake turn to see the same orange haired girl they met holding her burnt bike. She was panting angrily
"I knew I'd find both of you here!" she yelled
"Hey, you're that girl from the river" said Jake as he points at her
"What happened to your bike?" asked Ash
"What happened to my bike?! You happened to my bike you little loser! This is what's left after you stole it to save your Pokémon!" said the girl angrily
'Uh oh!' thought Jake as he recalled what happened when Pikachu unleashed the Thundershock to frightened the Spearows away. The girl begins to storm up to them.
"Now I can see why your Pokémon is in... Whoa!" exclaimed the girl as she suddenly lost her balance and fell to floor. This prompts Ash to go over to her while Jake walks up
"Ah! Here, let me help you" offered Ash as he held out his hand. But the girl slaps it away
"I don't need your help! And you're gonna pay for what you did to my bike!" yelled the girl
"I'll make it up for it. I promise I will, really. But I can't do anything about your bike until..." began Ash
"I don't want any of your lame excuses, kid! I just want a new bike right now!" the girl interrupted
This caused Jake to become angry
"THAT'S ENOUGH!"
Ash and the girl turn in shock to see Jake shout. Jake walks up next to Ash
"Listen. Me and my friend have been through a lot today! We have more important things to worry about right now! Our Pokémon are in that room and we don't know if they'll pull through! So why don't you do us all a favor, and shut up about your bike for once!" yelled Jake angrily
Ash attempts to calm his friend down
"Whoa. Calm down, Jake" pleaded Ash. "It was my Pikachu that fried her bike in the first place."
Jake calmed down a bit but was still annoyed at the girl as he turns to look at the medical room door. The girl was still shocked a bit from Jake's shouting.
"My friend also has a point" Ash said to the girl. "It's my Pikachu and his Bulbasaur. They're not doing too good."
The girl starts to feel bad about not caring for the Pokémon. They both looked at the door to see that the treatment is not done as the red light was above the door.
"Is it very serious?" the girl asked
"I think so and there's nothing I can do to help now" said Ash
"I wouldn't be so sure, Ash" said Jake as he stopped being annoyed
"What do you mean, Jake?" asked Ash
"It's true that we can't do anything right now, but all we can do is believe that Pikachu will make it. That also goes for my Bulbasaur and Vaporeon." said Jake
Ash smiles at what Jake told him. The girl also gave out a small smile. Jake turns to the girl
"By the way, I don't think we've introduced ourselves. My name is Jake and this is my friend Ash" said Jake
"My name is Misty. Nice to meet you both" greeted the girl now known as Misty
Just then, the red light blinked and the medical door open. The Chanseys were rolling the stretcher with Pikachu on it while Nurse Joy was carrying the tray that has Jake's Pokémon. They walks up to the stretcher
"Pikachu, are you alright?" asked Ash in worry
"Your Pikachu's resting. It's a good thing you two got it here so fast. The procedure went well and it should be fine" informed Nurse Joy
"Are my Pokémon okay, Nurse Joy?" asked Jake
"Yep. I am happy to say that your Pokémon are fully healed up, Jake" said Nurse Joy as she gives the tray of Poké Balls. Jake takes his Poké Balls and opens one of them to let Bulbasaur out. Bulbasaur was happy when it saw it's trainer and jumps into Jake's arms
"It's so good to see you're okay, Bulbasaur" said Jake
"Saur" said Bulbasaur
"How is Vaporeon?" Jake asked Nurse Joy
"Vaporeon is also fully healed" answered Nurse Joy. "You just need to let your Pokémon rest so that it can properly battle tomorrow."
"And it's all thanks to the Pokémon Center" said Misty
"Yes, thank you so much" said Ash gratefully
"What he said" added Jake
"Bulba" said Bulbasaur
"Now your Pikachu needs a rest in the recovery room. You should go in with it, Ash" said Nurse Joy
"Thanks" said Ash as he turns to Misty. "Listen, I'm sorry about your bike. But I'm gonna need some time to make things right"
"No way! I feel for that last time!" snapped Misty
"He means it, Misty!" defended Jake
"Well, you two should take care of Pikachu now, and we'll settle up later" said Misty
"If you say so" replied Jake
Suddenly, they hear an announcement on the intercom by Officer Jenny
"Your attention please! Our Viridian City radar systems have detected an aircraft belonging to a gang of Pokémon thieves. If you have a Pokémon in your possession, exercise extreme caution!" announced Officer Jenny
"That doesn't sound good" said Jake
Just then, two Poké Balls crashed through the sunroof of the Pokémon Center. They both open and a purple spherical Pokémon and a purple snake like Pokémon appeared.
"Koffing"
"Ekans"
Koffing then uses it's gas to create a smokescreen causing Ash and Jake to cough. Even Bulbasaur was coughing
"What are...? Who are they?" asked Ash
"The Pokémon thieves, no doubt" said Jake "Let's have a look at these Pokémon"
Jake takes out his Pokédex and scans them both
Jake's Pokédex: Koffing, the Poison Gas Pokémon. Because it stores several kinds of toxic gases in its body, it is prone to exploding without warning. Ekans, the Snake Pokémon. The older it gets, the longer it grows. At night, it wraps its long body around tree branches to rest.
"Don't be frightened little boys" said a female voice
"Allow us to introduced ourselves" said a male voice
The smoke disperse to reveal a woman with long magenta hair and a man with short periwinkle hair. They were even wearing uniforms with an R on their shirts.
"To Protect the world from devastation"
"To unite all people within our nation"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love"
"To extend our reach to the stars above"
"Jessie!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light"
"Surrender now or prepare to fight"
"Meowth! That's right!"
Jake blinked as he heard the Meowth talked
"A talking Meowth?" he replied in confusion
"Saur?" said Bulbasaur who is also in confusion
"Wha-What are you talking about?" asked Ash
"They say they're Team Rocket. And by the looks of it, those guys are bad news" answered Jake as he narrowed his eyes with Bulbasaur doing the same
"That kid doesn't get it, but the other one does" said Jessie
"How can I? Before Jake spoke, you guys don't make any sense" replied Ash
"We're here for the Pokémon" explained James
"You're not getting Pikachu!" snapped Ash as he attempts to defend his Pikachu
"Pikachu? We're not interested in your precious electric rat" scoffed Jessie with disinterest
"We seek only rare and valuable Pokémon" explained James
"Like that Bulbasaur over there" said Meowth as he pointed at Jake's Bulbasaur
Bulbsaur was surprised at this, but Jake steps in front of his Pokémon with an angry look
"Don't even think about taking my partner, you creeps!" Jake snapped angrily
"You're wasting your time! This is a center for weak and injured Pokémon!" snapped Nurse Joy
"That maybe so. But I wouldn't be all surprised if we find a few little Pokémon gems among the junk." said Jessie
"You're starting to bug me!" grumbled Ash
"Isn't that cute?" asked Jessie
"The boy's bugged" said James
"Meowth! Then let's squash em" replied Meowth
"Koffiing, attack!" ordered James
"Ekans, go!" commanded Jessie
The two Pokémon lunges at them.
"Run!" shouted Jake
The three friends and Nurse Joy with Pikachu in tow ran into the hallways while Ekans and Koffing destroyed a computer. They all head inside a room filled with Poké Balls. Just then the lights went out.
"Hey, the lights!" gasped Misty
"They must've cut the power" said Nurse Joy
"This is definitely not good" said Jake
"Bulbasaur" replied Bulbasaur
"Not to worry. We've got our own Pika power source" said Nurse Joy
The lights then came back on as the group turn to see a bunch of Pikachu's walking on a circular conveyor belt while holding each other's tails as they generated electricity.
"Wow, look at all the Pikachu!" cried Misty in amazement
"Yeah. Now that's a lot of power" said Jake with a smile
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur also said in amazement
The computer in the room then activates a program
"A crisis situation has arisen. Initiating emergency Poké Ball transport sequence" buzzed the computer
"We have to save those Poké Balls!" exclaimed Nurse Joy as a machine begins to take the Poké Balls and place them on the transport system to be transferred somewhere.
"This is the Viridian City Pokémon Center. We have an emergency situation! Transporting Poké Balls!" Nurse Joy said as she is working on the computer
"This is the Pewter City Pokémon Center. Downloader activated. Ready to receive Poké Balls!" buzzed the computer as the machine continues to transport Poké Balls to it's destination. Jake notices how slowly the transportation process was
'Oh man. It's only a matter of time until those crooks finds us' thought Jake. He gasps when he turns to see the doors explode open as Koffing comes in and knocks down the Poké Balls. Both Ash and Misty gasp at this
"Get those Poké Balls!" called Nurse Joy
Ash was a little hesitant to do so
"You heard her, Ash. We need to get these Poké Balls out of here!", said Jake as he gathered some of the Poké Balls and got them on the transport system. Bulbasaur did his best to help him out.
"Uh, right" Ash said as he picked one up
"This is war! Don't just hold them, throw em!" snapped Misty
"Alright. Poké Ball, here we go!" said Ash as he threw the Poké Ball. Out came a Pidgey. Pidgey chirped, but Ekans scared it causing it to flee
"What happened?" asked Ash
"That must've been Ekans' ability Intimidate" guessed Jake as he ran up. Just then Team Rocket appeared at the doorway
"That thing can't beat us", Jessie arrogantly said
"Oh yeah!" asked Jake as he took out a Poké Ball and enlarges it. "Bulbasaur, let's get em!"
"Bulbasaur!" said Bulbasaur as it races in front of it's trainer to face it's opponents
"Vaporeon, come out and help Bulbasaur!" said Jake as he threw his Poké Ball. In a flash of light, Vaporeon comes out next to Bulbasaur
"Vaporeon!" Vaporeon said. Both Bulbasaur and Vaporeon looked at each other and nod their heads at each other. Seeing Vaporeon, caused Misty to have sparkles in her eyes.
"Oh my gosh! He has a Vaporeon!? I want one of those!" Misty exclaimed with joy
"Well, it would seem we got another rare Pokémon to steal" said James with a smirk
"Then let's get em" said Meowth
"You heard him, Ekans! Get them with Tackle attack" commanded Jessie
"You too, Koffing! Tackle attack" ordered James
Both Koffing and Ekans lunges at both Bulbasaur and Vaporeon. James sees this
"Bulbasaur, Vaporeon dodge them both!" ordered Jake
Bulbasaur and Vaporeon both dodge the attacks
"Now Bulbasaur, Tackle on Ekans. Vaporeon, use Quick Attack on Koffing!" commanded Jake
Bulbasaur charges at Ekans and tackles it, making it skid back. Vaporeon then uses Quick Attack on Koffing to knock it back. Though the were attacked, Ekans and Koffing were still standing.
"Try this! Ekans wrap attack on that Vaporeon!" said Jessie
"Koffing, another Tackle attack on Bulbasaur!" shouted James
"Quick Vaporeon, use Water Gun on Ekans. Bulbasaur, dodge and use you Tackle attack again!" ordered Jake
Just as Ekans is about to use Wrap, Vaporeon let's out a Water Gun that washes Ekans away. Bulbasaur dodges Koffing's Tackle attack by jumping in the air and then dives down to tackle Koffing, sending it crashing to the ground.
"Ekans, get up! This is no time for napping" snapped Jessie
"Koffing, stop playing around! We have a job to do" yelled James
Ekans shook off the water as it got up while Koffing slowly got up
"You're only delaying the inevitable, boy." said Jessie
"Yeah, well I say bring it on. Cause I'm never giving you that satisfaction!" declared Jake in a taunting manner
This caused both Bulbasaur and Vaporeon to smirk. Both Jessie and James both have tick marks on their heads as Jake said that
"I gotta help, Jake!" said Ash as he takes out another Poké Ball. "Poké Ball, let's go!"
He throws another Poké Ball, but nothing came out
"Empty!?" said Ash dumbfounded
"We're never gonna beat them that way!" complained Misty
"Some of the Poké Balls are empty" informed Nurse Joy
"Now, she tells me" said Ash as he picks up another Poké Ball. "This one feels like a real winner! Poké Ball, go!"
Ash throws the other Poké Ball and out came a Rattata
"Rattata!" it yelled
"Pipsqueak" said James
"Meowth" Meowth agreed. One hissed from Ekans startled Rattata and it fled.
"It's no good, Ash! All the Pokémon here are inexperienced. How about you let me handle them, okay?" said Jake as both Bulbasaur and Vaporeon got ready. Before Jake can continue the battle, Misty steps in front of him
"You mean I will handle them, Jake" said Misty as she took out a Poké Ball
"Misty?" said Jake in surprise
"You and Ash get Pikachu and your other Pokémon out of here. I'll take care of these three clowns" said Misty
"That's pretty big talk coming from such a little lady!" sneered Jessie
"At least, you're right about the pretty part. Thanks for the compliment" said Misty sarcastically
"The girl thinks she's pretty" said James
"I agree with her. I think she's pretty too. Pretty pathetic!" insulted Jessie. This caused Misty to get angry at the insult
"I'll show you! Poké Ball go!" exclaimed Misty as she threw her Poké Ball. Out came a white and orange goldfish like Pokémon with a horn on it's head. It was flopping on the ground. This caused Ash and Jake to sweat drop at this. Both Bulbasaur and Vaporeon feel a little awkward at this. Jessie and James were even shocked at this.
"A Goldeen?" asked Jake as he takes out his Pokédex to scan it
Jake's Pokédex: Goldeen, the Goldfish Pokémon. Its tail fin billows like an elegant ballroom dress, giving it the nickname of the Water Queen.
"Goldeen, return!" yelled Misty as she recalls Goldeen back into it's Poké Ball.
"That's your best shot?" asked Jessie in disappointment
"She's all washed up" said James also in disappointment
"You know as well as I do that a Water Pokémon can't battle on land. I was just warming up" said Misty with a smirk
"Warming up?" puzzled Ash
"That doesn't seem like warming up. It looks more like a bad choice" said Jake
"Vapor" said Vaporeon in agreement
"Go on, you two! Get Pikachu out of here!" said Misty as she glared at the boys
"Right" said Ash as he rolls Pikachu out of the room. Jake nods his head and signals his Pokémon to follow him as he follows his best friend.
As the two friends and the Pokémon were rolling Pikachu through the halls of the Center, Ekans and Koffing chased after them. Jake turns his head to see them
"Ash, they're coming!" alerted Jake
"Let's pick up the pace!" said Ash as the boys started to run faster. But then, the stretcher hits Misty's burnt bike causing Ash to fall on the ground. Jake, Bulbasaur, and Vaporeon catches up to him. Just then, Jessie, James both caught up to them.
"We got you now!" said Jessie
"Hand over your Pokémon or prepare for a fight!" commanded James
"Not on your life, Team Rocket! I would choose to fight over giving up my Pokémon to the likes of you!" said Jake as he stood in front of his friend with his hands spread out. Bulbasaur and Vaporeon both got in front of their trainer defensively
"Bulbasaur!" growled Bulbasaur
"Vaporeon por!" growled Vaporeon
"Ooh. Someone sure is feisty" said James
Just then, Pikachu woke
"Pika?" he said
Just then the Center's Pikachu all jump out and begins to pile on Pikachu. Everyone watches in surprise as all the Pikachu begin to unleash a massive Thundershock that shocks Jessie, James, Koffing, and Ekans.
"AAAAAAGHH" they shouted in pain. The electric attack left them all battered and paralyzed
Pikachu then came out from the pile looking all better
"Pikachu" Pikachu said
"Wow, it looks like all those Pikachu's electric attacks helped your Pikachu recover, Ash" said Jake
"Pikachu" said Ash happily
"Do I have to do everything myself?! That mouse is cat food!"
The two boys and Pokémon turn to see Meowth coming up to them
"Just wait, Pikachu and Bulbasaur! You two are mine" said Meowth
"Like you could be a challenge. And by the way, the Meowth back home has a lot more manners than you" taunted Jake
Jake's insult struck a nerve on the talking Meowth
"Oh yeah! Have a taste of my Fury Swipes!" yelled Meowth as he jumped at Jake with his claws out
"No, Jake!" exclaimed Ash
Seeing his trainer in trouble, Bulbasaur jumps in and tackles Meowth out of the way. Meowth hits the ground while Bulbsaur lands in front of it's trainer protectively
"Hey what's the big idea!?" demanded Meowth
"Saur Bulbsaur Saur Bulba!" shouted Bulbasaur as it warned Meowth to stay away
"Oh yeah! And what would happen if I don't stay away?!" yelled Meowth as he understood Bulbsaur
Jake smiled proudly at his Bulbasaur. Pikachu then says something to Ash
"Pika, pika, pika, pika" said Pikachu
"Pika pika?" asked Ash
"Pika!" said Pikachu
"Pika pika power?" asked Ash
"I think what Pikachu is saying is that he wants more power. Am I right, Pikachu?" guessed Jake
"Pikachu!" said Pikachu as he nods it's head
"Well, if you want more power. You got it Pikachu!" said Ash
Ash set's Misty's burnt bike up while Jake connects Pikachu to it. Ash then starts peddling
"Stand back you two. Something tells me this is going to be really shocking!" Jake warned his Pokémon as he took some steps back. Both Bulbsaur and Vaporeon both obeyed their trainer as they also took some steps back. Meowth was very puzzled at this
"What's all this?" he asked
"Well, let's just say that Pikachu and I are gonna generate a little excitement for you, Meowth" answered Ash as he continued peddling
"And you better believe that you're gonna be in for a big shock!" added Jake
As Ash begins to peddle faster, the light on Misty's bike begins to light up. It got even brighter as Ash peddled even faster. The Team Rocket trio sweat dropped as they watched this
"Uh", said Jessie
"Uh oh!" said James in worry
"Meowth!", said Meowth nervously
Pikachu then hops on top of the bike's front and begins to feel the power from the light
"Pika pika, PIKACHU!" shouted Pikachu as he unleashed a massive Thundershock
The attacked zapped the villains several time. Just then, Koffing begins spew out some gas as it was being shocked. This causes a massive explosion which sends the two friends flying and nearly destroying the Pokémon Center. Officer Jenny arrives on her bike to witness the explosion.
"I'm too late, but not for the fireworks" she said
In another part of Viridian City, a boy with brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a dark gray, short-sleeved jumper shirt with a black front neck drop, green leggings with black details that have white arrows down each side, and black socks and red, black, and white sneakers with white laces, sees the explosion.
"Whoa! What happened here?!" he asked in surprise
In the ruins of the Pokémon Center, the two friends and their Pokémon were lying on the ground. Jake slowly wakes up along with Vaporeon and Bulbasaur.
"Whoa, now that was powerful" said Jake as he rubbed his head
"Bulbasaur" said Bulbasaur
"Vaporeon" said Vaporeon
Jake then looks around at the destroyed Pokémon Center
"I hope they have insurance to cover this" he said as he begins to go check on Ash and Pikachu
The next morning, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were talking to another Nurse Joy on the computer in the damaged Pokémon Center
"You're Viridian City Pokémon were transported here safely" said the other Nurse Joy
"Thanks sis. Ash, Jake, Misty, Pikachu, and Bulbasaur are heading your way. To Pewter City. If they get safely through the Viridian Forest" said the Viridian Nurse Joy
"Don't worry. From what I've seen, they can take care of themselves" assured Officer Jenny
"I hope you're right" said Nurse Joy
Meanwhile, Ash, Jake, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, and Misty had just left Viridian City and are now in Viridian Forest. Suddenly, Misty screams very loudly which also gets the boys' attention.
"What's wrong, Misty?" asked Jake as she held onto Ash's shoulder
"Look over there" she said as she pointed to a green caterpillar like Pokémon
"Cool! It's a Caterpie! One of the Bug Pokémon!" Ash said in amazement
Jake smiles as he takes out his Pokédex to scan it
Jake's Pokédex: Caterpie, the Worm Pokémon. Its short feet are tipped with suction pads that enable it to tirelessly climb slopes and walls.
"Even if it is a Pokémon, bugs are disgusting and I don't like them! Please do something!" Misty said in fright
"Unbelievable" said Jake in exasperation at the girl's fear
"Saur" said Bulbasaur feeling the same way. Just then a rustling in a bush gets Bulbasaur's attention.
"Saur saur" Bulbasaur said to Jake
"What is it, Bulbasaur?" asked Jake
Bulbasaur gestures to the bush. They look to see a Pikachu coming out. Unlike the tail on Ash's Pikachu, this Pikachu has a heart shaped tail.
"A Pikachu. Almost like the one Ash has" whispered Jake. He then turns to Bulbsaur with a smile "Want to catch it?"
Bulbasaur smiled and nods it's head
"Well, then let's go get it" Jake said as Bulbasaur raced up to face the Pikachu
"Pika pi" said the heart shaped tailed Pikachu as it got in a battle position
At the same time, Ash got out a Poké Ball and is about to catch it
"Alright, stand back. This one's a piece of cake." he said as he faces Caterpie
"Poké Ball go!" said Ash as he threw it at Caterpie
Will Ash catch his first Pokémon and will Jake capture his own Pikachu? Find out as the journey continues
