Battle Aboard the St. Anne
Having gotten their third badges, Ash, Jake and the gang are walking across the bridge on Vermillion City. Ash was looking at his Thunder Badge with glee.
'I really am glad for Ash. He and his Pikachu really outsmarted Lt. Surge back there' thought Jake with a smile.
Ash then notices something ahead.
"Hey Jake. Look at this" he said
"Huh?" Jake as he looks ahead and widens his eyes at what's in front of him.
"Saur?" Bulbasaur said in surprise
The group had found themselves staring at a large ship in a harbor
"Wow." Ash said
"Look at that" Jake added
"It's beautiful" Misty said
"So magnificent" added Green
"I'd love to cross the ocean on a ship like this" Ash said
"Me too" Jake said
"Saur" Bulbasaur said
"Yeah. Just think of all the Pokémon we'd be able to see along the way" Brock said
"Now, for sure. Just imagine. Sunbathing on deck all day." said Misty as she imagine herself sunbathing on the ship. "Just a nice long relaxing cruise"
"We have got to go onboard" Green said with a smile
"We can never afford a cruise like that" Brock pointed out much to the girls' dismay
"Oh, he's right. A ticket for a cruise would probably cost a lot of money." sighed Jake
"Reality can really bum you out" Ash said as he and the gang sadly trudge away
Just as they were doing that, confetti pops out
"Congratulations! You guys are way lucky! You guys can go on a deluxe sea cruise" said two school girls that appeared in front of them
" A sea cruise?" asked the gang
"Well it's like you know. We have these super cool incredible tickets for you" school girl 1 said
"Cool!" added school girl 2 yelled
"Cool huh?" asked the school girl 1 said as she showed them the ticket
"Huh?" Green puzzled
"These are tickets for the biggest party ever. Onboard the St. Anne cruise liner" the first Ganguro girl said
"The famous St. Anne?" Ash asked
"Cool!" the second school girl repeated
"The coolest ship on the sea" the first school girl said
"Oh" Brock said
"Everyone's going together and like have the coolest party ever." said the first school girl
"Cool!" repeated the second school girl
"And the party's for Pokémon trainers only" the first school girl said
"Cool!" repeated the second school girl
'Why does that sound suspicious' thought Jake with his eyes narrowed while his Bulbasaur narrows it's eyes as well
"Step this way" said the first school girl while the second girl giggles. "It'll be a radical party. All of the most radical Pokémon trainers would be there"
"Do you know anyone who says 'radical' anymore?" Ash asked
"Mmmm mmm" Misty replied as she shook her head
"Dude, nobody says that anymore" Jake said with a sweat drop
"Okay dudes. Here are your tickets!" school girl 1 said as she holds it up to them
"We'd love to go on the Pokémon trainer cruise, but we really don't have the money to pay for it" Brock said
"Oh Whoa. Like you don't understand" the first school girl said
"Cool!" repeated the second school girl
"They're totally free" the first school girl said
"What?" Green asked
"Totally free. Totally. Free" the first school repeated
"For free? Why are you giving them away?" Ash asked
"Yeah. Is there a catch to this?" Jake asked suspiciously
"There's no catch. You see, we would like to go out with our boyfriends, but we wanted to give them to cool Pokémon fans" the first school girl informed
"Cool!" repeated the second school girl
"We saw you and thought you looked really cool. Just take these and have a really cool time" the first school girl said as she gives Ash the ticket
"Thanks a lot" Ash said as he took it
"No sweat!" the first school girl said
"Cool!" repeated the second school girl
"Have a nice day. For sure" the first school girl said as she and the second school girl fled the scene.
Jake watches them run away. He was feeling suspicious about this
'That sure was odd. But why do those girls look familiar?' thought Jake with his eyes narrowed
"Alright! This really does look cool doesn't it?" Ash asked
"Pikachu" Pikachu said
"I don't know if we should do this, guys" Jake said
The group looks at him
"What do you mean, Jake?" Green asked
"I'm glad that we got those cruise tickets, but don't any of you find this strange? Those two girls appearing out of nowhere and just giving away cruise tickets for free? Sounds fishy if you ask me" Jake said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said as it also finds it strange
"When you put it like that, it does sound strange" Green said
"Yeah. But who could pass up a chance for a free cruise? I say we go" Ash said with a smile
"I'm with him" Misty said
"Me too" Brock added
"Okay. But I still don't like this" sighed Jake as he felt outvoted
"Don't worry, Jake. We'll just relax and enjoy ourselves. And if there's anything suspicious going on, we'll keep our eyes open" Green assured as she comforts Jake.
The group then walks around the harbor to find the ship
"The St. Anne" Brock said
"Yeah. And that Pokémon party. I wonder which one of these ships is the St. Anne" Ash said
"I think that's it" Misty said as she turns to the right.
The group looks toward a large cruise ship
"Wow. That's incredible" Brock said
"It's huge" Misty added
"I have to admit, the ship looks nice" Jake said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said
The gang then went up the ramp to the St. Anne
"What an awesome ship!" said Ash
"I'd like to travel around the whole world in this" Misty added
"It does look bigger when it's up close" Jake admitted
They then went onboard where the ticket holder was waiting for them. Ash showed him the ticket
"Welcome aboard the St. Anne. This way" said the holder as he points towards a door
"Thank you, sir" Green said
The group then went through the doors
"Wow, look at this!" Ash said
They find themselves in a large room full of Pokémon trainers and their Pokémon. As they walked through the room, they see a lot of trainers talking about Pokémon and many different kinds of stands that sell merchandises.
"Wow. This place is huge" Green said
"It's like a giant Pokémon convention" Ash added
"Everyone's a Pokémon trainer" Misty added
"You got that right. It's like a gathering of Pokémon trainers" Jake pointed out
The group passes by two Pokémon trainers showing off their Charmanders
"Take a look at the smooth skin on my Charmander. That shows how healthy it is" the boy said
"Look at the flame on my Charmander. There's orange mixed in with red. Cool huh? Check it out" said the other boy
Then, another kid walks in holding a Squirtle
"Wait. Look how hard the shell is on my Squirtle. Tough huh?" he said with a chuckle
"My Squirtle and Charmander are much better than theirs are" Ash said
"Of course you would say that" sighed Jake
"Alright, bring em all!" said a voice
The group turn to see a large crowd battling between a gentleman and his trainers. They had out a Starmie and a Raticate. Excited, Ash runs towards the crowd
"And there he goes. I'm going outside to explore. I'll meet you guys back here when I'm done" said Jake
"Okay, Jake. Have fun" Misty said
"See you soon" Brock said
"Right. Let's go Bulbasaur" Jake said
"Saur" Bulbasaur said as they begin to walk off
Green then rushes up to him
"Can I come too?" she asked
"Sure, Green. I can always use the company" Jake said
Green smiles and they all walked out of the room to explore
'Those two make a cute couple' Misty thought as she watches them leave
Another trainer was watching them leave also. He was looking at Jake with interest
Jake, Green and Bulbasaur were exploring outside the room. They have made their way to the deck of the St. Anne. A lot of trainers were either hanging out or resting on chairs and benches. They then decide to rest on two nearby chairs and watch the ocean.
"Isn't this nice, Jake?" Green asked
"Yeah. The breeze out here feels good. I really do feel relaxed. How about you Bulbasaur?" Jake asked
"Saur" Bulbasaur replied as it was next to the bench Jake was on. It was feeling relaxed too
Green giggles
"Not bad for our first time on a cruise. Isn't it?"
"I agree. I would definitely pick this as a nice vacation spot" Jake said
"Me too" Green replied
Just then, someone spoke up
"Excuse me"
Jake, Green, and Bulbasaur look behind their benches to see a teenage boy about their age in front of them. It was the same boy from Viridian City that saw the explosion earlier.
"Can we help you?" Jake asked.
"Yeah, I saw you and your friend head outside and decide to follow you." the boy replied.
"And let me guess, you're challenging me to a battle?" Jake asked
"Yes. I want to see how good you are as a trainer. Do you accept?" the kid asked
"Sure. If you want to battle, all you had to do was ask" Jake said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said
"Great! Let's do this!" the boy said
Jake and the boy got into position on the deck. Green was standing behind Jake. Other trainers notices the battle and begins to gather around them
"Hey look, a battle"
"We gotta see this"
"By the way. My name is Jake. What's yours?" Jake asked
"You can call me Trace" the boy called Trace answered
"Do your best, Jake" Green said
Jake smiled at that and turns to Trace
"So, how should we do this?" he asked
"How about three on three. Substitutions are not allowed and the person with Pokémon still standing is the winner. You cool with that?" Trace asked
"Fine with me" Jake replied
"I'll start. Ponyta, I choose you!" Trace said as he threw a Poké Ball. Out came a horse with a fiery mane. It whinnies when it came out
"Ponyta" Jake said as he takes out his Pokédex
Jake's Pokédex: Ponyta, the Fire Horse Pokémon. Its hooves are 10 times harder than diamonds. It can trample anything completely flat in little time.
"Magnificent" Green said as she looked at Ponyta
"Spearow, I choose you!" Jake said as he sends out Spearow
"Spearow!"
"Let the battle begin. Ponyta, Ember attack!" Trace ordered
Ponyta shoots some fireball from it's mouth at Spearow
"Dodge them all, Spearow and use your Fury Attack!" Jake ordered
Spearow dodged all of the fireballs in the air. It then dives at Ponyta and uses Fury Attack on Ponyta by pecking it several times. Ponyta whinnies in pain as Spearow flies up.
"Ponyta, shake off the attack and use another Ember!" Trace commanded
"Spearow, do the same thing again. Dodge them and use Peck this time!" Jake said
Spearow did just that. After dodging the fireballs, Spearow flew down and pecks Ponyta in the head and flew up again.
"Not again" Trace said. He then decides to try something different. "Ponyta, jump in the air and use Take Down on Spearow"
Ponyta leaps high into the air
"Whoa!" Jake yelled
"What a jump!" exclaimed Green
"Bulbasaur!" exclaimed Bulbasaur
Spearow was surprised by this. But before it can do anything, Ponyta used Take Down on Spearow which knocks it to the ground. Ponyta then lands on the ground
"You got it, Ponyta. Now finish it with Stomp!" Trace ordered
Ponyta raises it's front hooves and stomps down very hard on Spearow.
"Spearow!" yelled Jake
Ponyta then moves it's hooves to reveal that Spearow has swirls in it's eyes. The crowd applauds Ponyta's win
"Good work, Ponyta" Trace said
Ponyta whinnies as that
"Poor Spearow" Green said in worry
Jake returns Spearow to it's Poké Ball
"You tried your best Spearow. We'll have to train hard for next time" he said as he takes out another Poké Ball. "Vaporeon, your turn!"
He throws it and Vaporeon comes out
"Vaporeon!"
"A Vaporeon? I see that you already evolved your Eevee" Trace assumed
"Actually, I caught it as a wild Pokémon if you didn't know." corrected Jake
"That is strange. But no matter. Let's continue the match. Ponyta, Stomp Attack!" Trace commanded
Ponyta raises it's hooves for a Stomp
"Vaporeon, dodge with your Quick Attack!" Jake ordered
Vaporeon uses Quick Attack and runs off before it can get stomped
"Now use your Water Gun!" Jake yelled
Vaporeon shoots Water Gun at Ponyta which causes major damage to it. Trace gasped at this
"Ponyta, use Take Down" Trace ordered
Ponyta charges at Vaporeon with Take Down. Vaporeon got hit and skids on the ground.
"You okay, Vaporeon?" asked Jake
Vaporeon gets back up and nods it's head
"Good. Vaporeon, use Quick Attack and follow it up with Water Gun" Jake said
Vaporeon charges in and attacks Ponyta with Quick Attack. It then shoots Water Gun that causes major damage to Ponyta. Ponyta then fell to the ground.
"Ponyta!" cried Trace
Ponyta had swirls in it's eyes.
"Oh yeah. Good work Vaporeon!" Jake said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said as it congratulates it
"Go, Jake!" Green yelled
Trace returns Ponyta to it's Poké Ball.
"Not bad, Jake. Now for my next Pokémon. Gloom, go!" Trace said as he throws another Poké Ball out. Out comes the evolved form of Oddish.
"Gloom Gloom!"
"Gloom" Green said as she takes out her Pokédex
Green's Pokédex: Gloom, the Weed Pokémon and the evolved form of Oddish. The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn't drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey.
"Vaporeon, Quick Attack go!" Jake ordered
Vaporeon charges in and uses Quick Attack that deals some damage and making Gloom skid back a bit.
"Gloom, shake it off and use Razor Leaf!" Trace ordered
"Uh oh!" gulped Jake
Gloom fires Razor Leaf at Vaporeon causing it major damage causing it to hit the ground
"Vaporeon, get up and use Tackle!" Jake said
Vaporeon struggles to get up and jumps at Gloom
"Gloom, use Sleep Powder to put Vaporeon to sleep" ordered Jake
As Vaporeon got closer, Gloom unleashes Sleep Powder which puts Vaporeon to sleep.
"Oh no" Green yelled
"Vaporeon!" yelled Jake
"Alright Gloom! Fire Razor Leaf!" Trace ordered
Gloom then fires Razor Leaf at the sleeping Vaporeon which causes major damage.
"Wake up, Vaporeon! Please!" Jake yelled
"Saur!" Bulbasaur yelled
"Finish it with another Razor Leaf" Trace ordered
Gloom fires another Razor Leaf at Vaporeon which causes more damage and defeats it
"No!" Jake yelled
Trace smiled at his second victory. Jake then returns Vaporeon to it's Poké Ball.
"Good work, Vaporeon. Take a rest" he said. Jake then turns to his starter. "Bulbasaur, get in there!"
"Saur" Bulbasaur complied as it rushes into the battlefield
"Your starter Pokémon, huh? Gloom, Razor Leaf!" Trace ordered
Gloom fires Razor Leaf at Bulbasaur
"Bulbasaur, use your Vine Whip to stop them!" Jake ordered
Bulbasaur extends it's vines and begins to whip the attacks causing them to fall to the ground. Trace and Gloom both gasped at this
"Wow. A clever way to use Vine Whip" Green said with a smile.
"Now Tackle attack!" Jake ordered
Bulbasaur runs in and tackles Gloom which cause it to skid on the ground
"Gloom, use your Acid!" Trace commanded
Gloom fires Acid at Bulbasaur
"Watch out, Bulbasaur!" Jake warned
Bulbasaur leaps out of the way of the attack.
"Use Growl! And follow it up with another Tackle attack." Jake said
Bulbasaur growled at Gloom which startles it. Bulbasaur then charges in and tackles Gloom hard.
"Now use Vine Whip several times" Jake ordered. Trace gasped at this
Bulbasaur shot out it's vines hits Gloom several times. Trace gritted his teeth
"Gloom, use Sleep Powder" Trace called out
"Quick Bulbasaur Growl and follow it up with a Tackle. Full power!" Jake commanded
Bulbasaur growls at Gloom which scares it. It then charges at Gloom and Tackles it very hard.
"Gloom!" Trace yelled as his Gloom skids on the ground with swirls in it's eyes
"Yes. Two down, one to go. Nice work, Bulbasaur" Jake said to his Bulbasaur
"Bulbasaur!" his starter Pokémon
"Return Gloom." Trace said as he recalls Gloom. "I got to say, Jake. You're a really good trainer"
"Thanks, Trace. So are you" Jake said
"This third battle will decide the match. Prepare yourself" Trace said as he took out a third Poké Ball. "Charmeleon, I choose you!"
He throws it and lets out a Pokémon that is an evolve form of Charmander
"Charmeleon!"
Jake and Bulbasaur gasped
"Charmeleon?" Jake asked as he took out his Pokédex and scans it
Jake's Pokédex: Charmeleon, the Flame Pokémon and the evolve form of Charmander. Tough fights could excite this Pokémon. When excited, it may blow out bluish-white flames.
"I guess you chose Charmander as your starter Pokémon." Jake assumed
"You guessed right. Me and Charmeleon have been partners since my journey started. We trained very hard during our travels which led to it's evolution" explained Trace
"Char!" said Charmeleon as it breathes fire
"Wow" Green said as she heard Trace said that
"Keep your guard up, Bulbasaur. Something tells me this isn't going to be easy" Jake told his starter
"Saur" Bulbasaur replied
"You better believe it. Charmeleon, Scratch attack!" Trace ordered
Charmeleon charges with it's claws out
"Dodge them all Bulbasaur!" Jake ordered
Bulbasaur dodges all of Charmeleon's scratches attacks
"Now Tackle it!" Jake ordered
Bulbasaur then uses Tackle to bash Charmeleon away. Charmeleon uses it's claws to steady itself on the ground
"Charmeleon, use your Growl" Trace ordered
Charmeleon Growls very loudly at Bulbasaur which intimidates it
"Oh my" Green said
"Now, use Submission!" Trace ordered
"Submission!?" yelled Jake
Charmeleon then grabs Bulbasaur and spins it around. The crowd begins to follow Charmeleon's spinning which makes them dizzy
"Bulbasaur!" yelled Bulbasaur
"Hang in there, Bulbasaur!" called Jake
Charmeleon finally lets go which causes Bulbasaur to bounce on the ground while in feeling dizzy
"Bulbasaur. Are you okay? Can you stand?" Jake asked in worry.
Bulbasaur slowly stood up as it tries to shake off the dizziness. Bulbasaur then nods it's head.
"That's good, buddy. Try using your Vine Whip!" Jake ordered
Bulbasaur extends his vines and shot it at Charmeleon
"Charmeleon, Ember!" Trace said with a smirk
Charmeleon shoots Ember which gets on the vines.
"Saur!" screamed Bulbasaur
"Bulbsaur's vines are on fire!" yelled Green
"Oh no!" yelled Jake
Bulbasaur begins to run around while attempting to put out the fire on it's vines.
"Great. Bulbasaur's distracted. Charmeleon, take advantage of this by using Scratch then follow it up with Ember" Trace instructed
Charmeleon charges in and scratches Bulbasaur in the face. It shoots a fireball at Bulbasaur which causes it major damage. Bulbasaur was sent flying and hits the ground.
"Bulbasaur!" Jake yelled
"I don't believe it. Jake lost" Green said in surprise
The crowd cheered for Trace's victory as Trace pets his Charmeleon for winning the match. Jake rushes over to his Bulbasaur and cradles it in his arms
"Bulbasaur! Are you alright?! Say something! Speak to me!" he begged
Bulbasaur slowly wakes up to see it's trainer.
"Saur" it said sadly
Jake only smiles
"It's alright buddy. You tried your best. That's all it matters" he said
Trace and Charmeleon then walks up to him
"Good battle, Trace. I guess the better trainer won" Jake said as he held out his hand
Trace grabbed it and shook it
"Yeah. But you put up a good fight in our match. Maybe next time, you might beat me" he said
"I agree" Jake said
"Well, I guess I'll see you around. Hope we meet again, Jake. Come on Charmeleon" Trace said as he walks off
"Char!" Charmeleon said as it follows after him
The crowd then disperse as Jake watches Trace leave. Green then walks up to him
"Looks like you got yourself a rival, huh?" she said
"Yeah. I guess I did. Next time we battle, I'm gonna win this time" Jake said with confidence
"Saur" Bulbasaur said
Green giggles
"So, shall we explore more of the ship?" Jake asked her
"Sure" Green replied
Soon the St. Anne was already starting to set sail. Jake and Green had explored part of the ship while also finding a part of the ship to heal Jake's Pokémon. They then went back to the room where they met their friends.
"Hey guys. I heard that you went out to explore the ship" Ash said
"We sure did" Green replied
"Did you guys did anything while you explored?" Brock asked
"Well, let's just say that I battled someone and I think I just got a new rival" Jake replied
"That's cool Jake. While you were out, I actually battle this guy and his Raticate with my Butterfree" Ash said
"Wow. Good for you, buddy" Jake said while giving him a thumbs up
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said
Misty then looks at Jake and Green
"So, did you guys do anything romantic together?" she asked teasingly
This caused both Jake and Green to blush nervously
"Nope" they said simultaneously
Just then, Ash's stomach begins to growl
"Heh. Sorry. I'm kinda hungry" Ash said
"I suppose it's time for some grub" Brock said
"You're right, Brock. Let's go get something to eat" Jake said
"Yeah. I'm starving" Green said
The gang were at a table chowing down on some food. Then, the gentleman and a woman walk up to them
"So, you're having yourself a good time?" asked the gentleman
"Yes sir. We're having a great time" Ash answered
"Is that the guy you battled?" asked Jake
Ash nods his head in response
"You know. That Butterfree of yours is quite extraordinary" complimented the gentleman.
"It's incredible" said the woman
Seeing her caused Brock to blush
"She's beautiful" he said
"Hello in there" Misty said as she waved her hand in front of him
"Beautiful" Brock repeated as he was still distracted by the woman's beauty
"Here we go again" Misty said with a shrug
'Does he have to fall in love with every girl he sees' thought Jake with a sweat drop
"Well, I put a lot of work into raising it." Ash said to the gentleman
"What did you think of my Raticate?" the gentleman asked
"It look great and it really put up a tough fight" answered Ash
"In that case, I'll be direct. Why don't we trade?" the man asked
"Trade Pokémon?" Ash asked as he blinked his eyes.
"When two people find that they each like the other's Pokémon, they trade. It's quite a common practice everywhere" the gentleman explained
"Everywhere?" Ash asked
"You see, friends who trade then trade with their other friends and so friendships grow deep by continuing to spread wider and wider. Trading and making new friends is one of the best things about having Pokémon. That's how Pokémon friendships gets to spread all around the world." the gentleman continue to explain
"Wow" Ash said in awe
"Friendship is wonderful isn't it?" the lady asked
"Yeah yeah. Why don't you and I start a friendship right now" Brock said still lovestruck
"Should I trade, Brock?" Ash asked
"Oh yeah. You gotta trade. Everybody should trade. Let's start trading" replied the lovestruck former gym leader
"Well, okay" Ash said
"Is Brock alright?" Green asked
"Well when it comes to girls, he is a little sick in the head" Jake responded
This earns him a giggle from Green
"Saur saur" Bulbasaur said as it agrees with Jake
The gang along with the gentleman and lady were at a trade machine. The gentleman got out his Raticate's Poké Ball while Ash got out his Butterfree's Poké Ball. They both placed them on two slots.
"Here we go" the gentleman said as Ash nods his head.
The gentleman starts the machine. The machine then sucks the Poké Balls in and transports them to the opposite sides.
"Well, that's all there is to it. Raticate is your new Pokémon" the gentleman said
Ash looks at Raticate's Poké Ball and was in deep thought
Outside of the room, Jake, Green, and Bulbasaur were sitting at two other chairs looking out the sea again.
"I have to admit. That trade machine really works doesn't it? Green asked
"It sure does." Jake said
"Do you think we should trade our Pokémon?" Green asked Jake
"Why would I want to do that? I like the Pokémon that I have with me." Jake said. "Besides they're my friends. I can't do that to them"
"I see what you mean. The Pokémon I have are my friends too. It would be wrong to trade them away like that" Green said
Jake smiled that Green agrees with him. Bulbasaur even smiled that his trainer isn't thinking about trading.
'I wonder if Ash is having second thoughts about trading his Butterfree. It was the first Pokémon he ever caught' thought Jake
A few minutes later, Jake, Green, and Bulbasaur met back up with their friends in the ballroom. Suddenly, the doors close and the curtains begin to close. The group was surprised by this
"Hey!" yelled Ash
"What's going on?" Green asked
The patrons on the St. Anne then reveal themselves to be Team Rocket grunts in disguise. They have vacuum like devices on them
"Team Rocket" Green said in surprise
"I should've known. Team Rocket must've lured Pokémon trainers with free tickets to the St. Anne. That way, they could steal all their Pokémon when the time was right" Jake said with a glare
"Just like they lured us" Green gasped
"Exactly" Jake replied.
Then, the lights went out. The spotlight reveal Jessie and James on a high platform with vacuum devices on them. James was looking depressed as he and Jessie begins to do their motto
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all people within our nation"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the stars above"
"Jessie!"
"James"
"Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light!"
"Oh, Surrender now or prepare to fight"
"Meowth, that's right!"
"Team Rocket will now take possession of your Pokémon!" Jessie announced
All of the Team Rocket grunts activate their devices and begins to suck up all the trainers' Poké Ball. Then some Team Rocket grunts came up to the group
"Give me your Pokémon" one of the grunts demanded
"No way!" Misty yelled
"You can't have them!" Green added
"Don't make me take em" a second grunt said
"Yeah. Give them here" a third grunt said
"The answer is no! Bulbasaur!" Jake yelled
"Pikachu!" yelled Ash
Pikachu zaps one of the grunts with his Electric attack while Bulbasaur uses it's vines to hit the other grunt and then wrap them around his legs to trip them
"Fellow Pokémon trainers! Team Rocket is trying to steal all the Pokémon we love and cherished. Well I say, we're not gonna give them up without a fight!" Jake announced to the other trainers
"My friend is right. If there gonna rob our Pokémon. We might as well make it a battle" Ash added
"Yeah, we can't just surrender" a trainer said
"Let's fight back!" yelled another trainer
All the other trainers agreed that they must fight back. They all then proceed to toss out their Pokémon to battle Team Rocket. Jake then lets out all of his Pokémon to battle.
"Don't leave me out! Come out you guys!" Green yelled as she also sent out all of her Pokémon
As Team Rocket continues to suck up all the Poké Balls, everyone got ready to battle them
"Squirtle go!" the gentleman said as he let out his Squirtle
"Squirtle"
"We gotta fight them together" Brock said
"You heard him. Let's get them everyone!" Jake yelled
"Pikachu, go!" Ash ordered
Pikachu rushes in. A group of Pikachu's then come in. Ash's Pikachu, Jake's Pikachu and the other Pikachu's then gather together combined their Thundershock together to shock the Team Rocket grunts.
"Eevee, use Quick Attack!" Green ordered
Eevee charges and knocks down two grunts with Quick Attack
"Spearow, Peck Attack! Beedrill, Poison Sting!" Jake ordered
Spearow pecks at a Team Rocket grunt while Beedrill uses Poison Sting on another
Ash turns his cap around and let's out his Charmander
"Charmander, I choose you!"
Ash's Charmander then joins the other trainers' Charmander and unleashes a massive Flamethrower attack which burns the grunts.
"Vaporeon, Water Gun attack!" Jake yelled
"You too, Squirtle, use your Water Gun!" Green also ordered
Vaporoen, Green's Squirtle and the other trainers' Squirtles combined their Water Guns to wash the Team Rocket grunts away
"Geodude go!" Brock said as he lets out his Geodude
His Geodude joined up with other Geodudes. They grab each other's hands and begins to spin. They bashed the other grunts away.
Ash's Bulbasaur, Jake's Bulbasaur, and Green's Bellsprout joined forces with other trainers' Bulbasaurs and used their Vine Whips to attack more of the Team Rocket grunts.
"Sandshrew, use your Slash attack!" Jake ordered
Sandshrew leaps at one of the Team Rocket grunts and Slashes him in the face making him yell in pain.
"Clefairy, use your Double Slap attack!" Green ordered
Clefairy jumps up at a grunt and slaps him on the face two times
Then other trainers' Butterfree begins to sprinkle more Team Rocket grunts with Stun Spore
"Now it's my turn." Ash said as he takes out a Poké Ball "Go Butterfree"
He throws a Poké Ball but Raticate came out
"Raticate"
"Huh?" Ash said
"Ash, you traded it remember?" Misty reminded
"Oh yeah" Ash remembered
Jake took this chance to take out his Pokédex and scans Raticate
Jake's Pokédex: Raticate, the Mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Rattata. It uses its whiskers to maintain its balance. It apparently slows down if they are cut off.
Ash then begins to recall the good times he had with his Butterfree such as when his Metapod evolved into Butterfree and when they battled in the Cerulean Gym.
"I've raised that Butterfree all by myself. I have to get it back" Ash said
'Looks like Ash really misses his Butterfree' thought Jake as he puts away his Pokédex
"Hand over the Poké Balls!" a Team Rocket grunt demanded
Ash throws out another Poké Ball
"Pidgeotto, I choose you!
His Pidgeotto comes out along with other Pidgeottos
"Pidgeotto, group Gust!" Ash ordered
The flock of Pidgeottos all unleashes Gust which forms into a tornado that blows the Team Rocket grunts away.
"Pikachu, altogether! Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered
"Let em have it, Pikachu! Thundershock!" Jake said to his Pikachu
Ash's Pikachu and Jake's Pikachu then unleashes Thunderbolt and Thundershock together on the grunts which sends them flying off that. All the trainers begin to cheer for their victory. Jake and Green also begin to hug each other. But when they saw what they were doing, they let go and turned away shyly.
"I think we should all be proud of our Pokémon. And we taught Team Rocket a lesson they'll never forget" Ash said
"You said it buddy" Jake added
Suddenly, a massive wave begins to hit the ship. Everybody felt it as the ship begins to tilt
"What's happening?" Green asked
"Whatever it is, it can't be good" Jake replied.
"Oh no. It's a big storm!" Misty said as she looked out the window of the ship
"It'll be tough to get back with waves like this" Brock informed
"What?" Misty said. She then notices that Ash isn't here. "Hey, where's Ash?"
"He must've went to that room to trade for his Butterfree back" Jake said. "Let's go get him. But first, return all of you"
He took out his Poké Balls and recalls all of his Pokémon to them except for his Bulbasaur
"Good call, Jake. Return everyone!" Green said as she returns her Pokémon to their Poké Balls
The group then ran off to get to Ash
Back in the trading room, Ash and the gentleman had just begun the process of trading Butterfree and Raticate back. His friends then came into the room
"Come on Ash. We gotta go! The ship is sinking!" urged Misty
"Hurry up!" added Jake
"Hold on you guys" Ash said
The machine then exchanges Raticate and Butterfree back. Ash picks up his Poké Ball that has his Butterfree. He was very happy to have him back
"Butterfree, please forgive me" he said
Suddenly, another wave impacts the St. Anne. This startles Ash and causes him to drop his Poké Ball. The Poké Ball then begins to roll away
"Oh no! Your Butterfree's Poké Ball is rolling away!" Green yelled
"Butterfree!" Ash yelled as he and Pikachu chase after it
"Ash!" yelled Misty
"Wait for us!" Jake called as they follow after them
By then another, wave hits the St. Anne. All of the passengers have made it to the lifeboats. Even Trace was on it.
Back on the ship, the group chased after Butterfree's Poké Ball. Ash was able to catch it
"I got it" he said
"That's good. Now let's abandon ship" Jake said
Suddenly, the ship shakes which throws Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu into another room.
"Guys!" Green said
Then another big wave hit the ship and throws Jake, Green, and Bulbasaur into another room.
Meanwhile outside, the St. Anne then turns upside down and sinks below the water
"May I have your attention! Anyone who didn't leave the ship safely. Please say I" announced the captain. No one answered. "Good. Well done. Everyone's safe"
'I sure hope Jake and his friends made it out okay' thought Trace in worry
Back in the sinking St. Anne, Ash, Jake, and all of their friends are lying unconscious in the different rooms of the ship. How will they get out of this?
And that was my version of Battle Aboard the St. Anne. I also featured Trace who had previously appeared in Pokémon Emergency. He will be Jake's rival as the series goes on. He is also voiced by Brandon Winckler who also voiced him in Pokémon Evolutions episode 8: The Disovery. I hope you enjoy.
