Haunter versus Kadabra
After their adventures in the Pokémon Tower, our heroes have made their way back to Saffron City. Ash and Pikachu were looking out at Saffron City
"We made it, Pikachu!" Ash said
"Pikachu" Pikachu replied
"And this time, I KNOW we're gonna win! Right, Jake?" Ash asked his best friend
"With a Ghost Pokémon helping you, your victory in the Saffron Gym is guaranteed" Jake replied
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said
"Cubone" Cubone added
"What about you, Brock?" Ash asked the former Pewter Gym leader
They turn to see Brock standing a few feet away
"Uh, if you say so." he said nervously
"What's the matter?" Ash asked
"Pika?" Pikachu asked
"Could it be that you're scared of Haunter?" Jake asked
"Bulbasaur?" Bulbasar asked while Cubone cocked his head in confusion
"Think I'm allergic to ghosts. Kinda feel sorta dizzy." Brock claimed
"Come on, Brock. Haunter can't be that bad" Green said
"Please. You couldn't be afraid of such a cute little thing." Misty said
Haunter then begins to nuzzle Misty making her giggle
"Misty is right. Haunter is kinda sweet once you get to know it" Green said
"Cute, right" Brock said as he backs up slightly
Haunter then licks Misty in the face. Ash and Jake gasps as they saw Misty paralyzed
"It just crossed the cute line." she said before falling over
"What happened to Misty?" Green asked
"I think Haunter used Lick on her" Jake explained "It's a Ghost type attack that has a chance of paralyzing opponents"
"Cubone" Cubone said as he hid behind Bulbasaur
"Haunter, you paralyzed her!" Ash scolds at Haunter
This caused Haunter to burst into tears. Ash softens his glare
"Hey, Haunter. It's really not that big a deal." he said
"Yeah. You didn't mean to paralyzed Misty. You were just being playful" Jake added
Hearing this caused Haunter to cheer up. It then goes up to Ash
"Haunter, in Saffron City there's a trainer named Sabrina who uses Psychic Pokémon. Ghost Pokémon are strong against Psychic Pokémon, right? Will you help me defeat her?" he asked
Haunter nods it's head
"Looks like Haunter agrees with you" Green said
"Yes! That Marsh badge is as good as mine!" Ash yelled
"Let's get down there!" Jake said
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur said
"Cubone" Cubone added
The gang were standing outside the Saffron Gym
'That Sabrina sure showed us up last time. She made Pikachu and me look like a joke!' Ash thought as he recalled his last gym battle against the Saffron Gym leader. "This time the joke's on her"
"You said it, buddy" Jake said
"We're with you all the way" Green added
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur said
"Cubone!" Cubone added
They then notice that Misty, Brock, and Pikachu weren't there
"Where did everyone go?" Jake asked
"Hey. Brock? Misty? Guys?" Ash asked
"They're right over there" Green said as she points to the left
The boys and Pokémon turn to see Misty, Brock, and Pikachu cheering on Ash while holding some flags and banners
"Go give it your best shot, Ash!" Misty cheered
"Yeah, let us know how it turns out!" Brock cheered
"Pika Pika Pi!" Pikachu said
"You gotta be kidding me" Jake said with a facepalm
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur said in annoyance
"Cubone" Cubone said as he placed his bone over his eyes
"Come on, you guys!" Green said
"Stop goofing around! Aren't you even coming in with us?!" Ash yelled
"Last time she wanted to play with us and pretended we were her bowling pins. Remember?" Misty reminded
"And she almost bowled a strike!" Brock added
"Was it really that bad?" Green asked
"It was, Green" Misty said
"Now that I got Haunter, that won't happen again." Ash said confidently
"I wouldn't be too sure, Ash. What if Haunter is the one who's controlling you?" Brock asked cautiously
Ash and Jake looked at each other and smile at them
"Me and Haunter are pals!" Ash said
Haunter the begins to laugh
"Yeah. Haunter chose to help Ash. There's no way it would do that" Jake said
"Haunter isn't worried at all." Misty said nervously
"It's pretty confident." Brock added
" Pika Pika!" Pikachu replied
"I guess Ash must be rubbing off on Haunter" Green said as she was next to Jake
"You got nothing to worry about. With Haunter on my side, I'm guaranteed to win that badge! Now, wish me luck." Ash said
"Good luck" Misty, Brock, and Green said
"Go get her, Ash" Jake said
"Thanks buddy" Ash said before letting his starter Pokémon
"Charmander!"
"Char!" Charmander said upon being let out
"Squirtle!"
"Squirtle" Squirtle said after it is released
"Bulbasaur!"
"Bulbasaur" Ash's Bulbasaur said when it is out
"Are you all ready to face Sabrina?!" Ash asked
His starter Pokémon and Haunter all say their agreement
The gang then made their way inside the gym. Ash was standing on the battlefield facing Sabrina who was on her throne
"Sabrina, I've come back here to your gym to demand a rematch." he said
"Another battle? Even after my Kadabra beat up your Pikachu during the last match? You don't have a chance." Sabrina's doll taunted
"This time, you won't have it so easy." Ash countered
"If you lose, you'll have to play with me again." the doll said
Sabrina levitates off her throne and onto the battlefield. The lights turn on as she did so
"You know. You're friend Jake and his Beedrill were able to defeat me. He defeated Kadabra with a type advantage. I highly doubt you would do the same, Ash" the doll said
"Go Kadabra" Sabrina said as the doll throws the Poké Ball to let Kadabra out
"Kadabra"
"And I choose as my Pokémon, Haunter! Go, Haunter!" Ash yelled
"So, you captured a Ghost Pokémon, did you?" Sabrina asked
Unfortunately, Haunter was nowhere to be seen.
"Where is it?" Sabrina asked as her Kadabra looked around
"Good question" Green asked "Where did Haunter go?"
"Bulbasaur?" Jake's Bulbasaur asked
"Cubone?" Cubone said as rubbed his bone on his head. Ash gasped when he noticed Haunter is missing
"Haunter? Hey! Haunter! Where'd you go?!" he called before taking out a megaphone "Will Haunter please report to the floor?!"
"This is bad" Jake said "How's he's gonna beat Sabrina now?"
"Looks like the Ghost Pokémon got spooked." Brock said
"Haunter is not the most dependable Pokémon in the world." Misty added
"Especially when it ditched us for some reason" Green said
"Haunter!" Ash yelled with tears in his eyes
"Enough stalling. Send out your Pokémon at once, or you'll all go back to the toy box." Sabrina threatened
This caused the gang to pale at this threat. Even Cubone shivered as he doesn't want to know what that would feel like
"Great! Back where we started!" Brock grumbled
"Forget Haunter, send out another one!" Misty added
"You heard them, Ash" Jake gulped "Do it before we're all her playthings"
"Right!" Ash said "Pikachu!"
But Pikachu, remembering his defeat at the hands of Kadabra, refuses to battle as he backs away.
"Pikachu!" Ash yelled before turning to his starters "Charmander! Bulbasaur! Squirtle!"
But they too backed away as they don't want to faced Kadabra
"You won't help me?" Ash asked
"Oh man. None of Ash's Pokémon want to battle" Jake said
"What'll he do?" Green asked
"Well, are you ready yet?" Sabrina asked
"Yeah, just a sec." Ash replied nervously
"The battle will begin now!" Sabrina yelled
Frightened, Ash hold his arms in a cross
"I quit!" he cried before he and his Pokémon ran out the door
"Quit?" Sabrina asked
"Not without us, Ash!" Jake yelled as he and his Pokémon follow after them
"Hey! Wait for us!" Misty yelled
"Hurry!" Brock added
"Let's get out of here!" Green yelled as they followed after the boys
"It's fun to catch them." Sabrina's doll said
The shutter leading to the main door of the gym begins to slide down
"The exit!" Ash yelled as he, Jake, and their Pokémon continue to run
But it was too late. The door completely closes just as they reached it
"She sealed us in!" Jake said
"We're trapped!" Brock yelled as he, Misty, and Green ran up
Suddenly, Sabrina's doll appeared over them. She then used her psychic powers on Brock, Misty, and Green. They screamed as they were transformed into dolls
"Brock! Misty!" Ash yelled
"Green!" Jake yelled
The dolls then dropped onto the floor
"They're dolls!" Ash said as he and Jake looked at them
Sabrina's doll then floats in front of them
"And I think we're next" Jake gulped
"Now I'm going to turn all of you into dolls!" Sabrina's dolls said
Ash's Pokémon panics and hid behind their trainer. Cubone also panicked and hid behind Bulbasaur who was glaring at the doll.
"Hey! Take it easy!" Ash said before looking at the Sabrina's doll who is just about to turn him and his friend into dolls
'Looks like this is the end for us' Jake thought in worry
Suddenly, the same stranger that they had encountered teleported in front of them
"Hey. Aren't you that guy that warned us not to come here?" Jake asked
"Where did you come from?" Ash asked
"Sometimes you gotta retreat to win." the man said "Teleportation"
And with that, they were teleported away. Sabrina walked up in front of the dolls
"He's back" she said
Meanwhile, the stranger teleported out in the park. Ash, Jake, and their Pokémon ended up in the air. They fell right on top of the man
"That's going to takes some getting use to" Jake said who was on top of Ash's starter Pokémon along with Ash
"Bulbasaur" his Bulbasaur said as it and Cubone were on top of him
"Pika Pika." Pikachu said
"Hey, Pikachu! I'm glad you're safe, but would you please get off my back?" Ash asked
"Pika pi" Pikachu said
"And do you mind getting off my back too, Bulbasaur? Cubone?" Jake asked
"Will you all please get off mine?" the man asked
After getting off of each other, Ash's Bulbasaur was taking a nap while Ash's Squirtle was chasing after Ash's Charmander. Jake's Bulbasaur was seen talking with Cubone. Ash, Jake, and the man were sitting on a bench.
"Sabrina's the meanest trainer I ever met." Ash said with a sigh
"I know. How can someone like her ever turned out like this" Jake added
"She wasn't always such a mischievous girl." the man said
"You mean you knew Sabrina before she changed?" Ash asked
"I'm with Ash. How do you know Sabrina?" Jake asked
"Huh? Well, I've. I've heard stories." the man said as he began to tell his story
A flashback shows Sabrina as a young girl practicing her psychic powers on some silverware and breaking the holder. She was also seen attempting to test her powers on a golf club
"Please, stop, Sabrina. That's enough!" her mother said
"That's not a toy!" Sabrina's father scolded as he took the golf club away
In response to this, Sabrina unleashed her psychic powers on her parents which flings them away.
"Though she was very young, Sabrina became completely obsessed with her psychic training." the man explained
We see Sabrina using her powers to completely melt down her house
"She didn't want to make friends. All she wanted was to be left alone to develop her powers." the man continued
The flashback ends and returns us to the present
"Her parents tried to help, but Sabrina used her psychic powers to drive them away." the man said as he took out a photo and gives it to Ash "The conflict caused Sabrina to split into two girls. The strong Pokémon trainer who is always causing trouble, and the lonely little girl who desperately desires to make friends. That doll that Sabrina always holds represents her true self, before her training. Before she rejected her own heart."
Ash and Jake look at the photo. It was of young Sabrina with her parents
"She looks really happy in that photo" Jake said with some sympathy
"Sabrina had this picture of her family in her room." Ash said
"She does?" Jake asked
"I saw it when Sabrina shrunk me, Brock, and Misty into her toybox" Ash explained before turning to the man "If you have the same picture, then that must mean you are.."
The man flinched in surprise
' Does he know? He must have figured it out by now, along with his friend. After everything I've said, they must have figured out the truth about Sabrina and me. He must realize that I'm Sabrina's father.' the man thought
"He does know Sabrina well. Could this man be?" Jake wondered
"Then that must mean you're a photographer!" Ash said to the man
This caused the man to fall over in disbelief. Even Jake's Bulbasaur and Cubone fell over as they stopped to hear the story.
"Huh?" Jake said in confusion
The man got up looking very annoyed
"Don't you see!? Don't you get it!?" he snapped
"Get what?" Ash asked
Jake can only face palm at how dense Ash was
"Never mind" groaned the man
"Let's put that aside for now" Jake said "Our friends are in trouble"
"Yeah. Sabrina turned Misty, Brock, and Green into dolls" Ash added
"There's nothing we can do about that." Sabrina's father sighed
"What do you mean, sir?" Jake asked
"The only way to rescue your friends is to defeat Sabrina. Isn't that why you traveled to Lavender Town to get a Ghost Pokémon?" the man asked
"Actually, my friend Ash didn't catch a Ghost Pokémon. One kinda followed us on our way back here. It's a Haunter by the way" Jake explained
"But Haunter's disappeared someplace." Ash added
"Than you two must find Haunter first. Without it, you'll never be able to defeat Sabrina and her Psychic Pokémon." the man said
"I guess not" Ash sighed
"Not to mention, saving our friends" Jake said as he stood up "Come on, Ash. We got a Ghost Pokémon to find"
"Right" Ash said as he too stood up
"I wish you two luck" the man said
After Ash recalled his starter Pokémon, he , Jake, Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Cubone were walking through Saffron City in search of Haunter
"Pikachu. Where do you think Haunter could be?" Ash asked
" Pika Pika." Pikachu replied
"What about you, Jake? Do you know here Haunter is?" Ash asked his best friend
"I don't know, Ash" Jake replied "Saffron City is very large. It'll be hard to find a Ghost Pokémon around here"
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur replied
"Bone" Cubone added
"Great" Ash sighed
"But there's one thing I don't get. Why would Haunter leave us like this?" Jake asked
"Yeah. Haunter agreed to help me fight Sabrina. I just don't understand why it would chicken out" Ash said "What do you think, Jake?"
"If I were to guess, Haunter probably had second thoughts. Or Haunter is not much of a fighter." Jake said
"That the might be case. Haunter does like to play pranks" Ash said
"Pikachu" Pikachu added
"I was actually lucky that I beat Sabrina" Jake said
"I know. You did say that Psychic types are weak against Bug types" Ash said
"Uh huh. It was thanks to Beedrill learning it's new Twineedle attack that I was able to win" Jake said proudly
"Cubone?" Cubone asked Bulbasaur
"Bulbasaur saur" Bulbasaur said as it said it would explain it to him another time
"Too bad I already released my Butterfree. I would've had a chance" Ash said
"That is true. But it was Butterfree's choice to mate with that Pink Butterfree" Jake pointed out "And it's like I said, you might meet Butterfree again in the future"
Ash smiled
"You're right, Jake. You're right" he replied
As they continue walking through the streets of Saffron City, the boys heard the sound of crashing. Ash, Jake, and their Pokémon turn around in alarm
"Huh? What was that?!" Ash asked
"Judging by what we are seeing, it looked like somebody fell from a building and crashed through the sidewalk" Jake said as he looked at some holes
They walked over to see Team Rocket lying in the holes unconscious
"It's Team Rocket!" Ash yelled
"I'm surprised they're not dead." Jake said as he sees them barely alive
"Bulba" Bulbasaur said
"Cubone" Cubone said as he widens his eyes at the unconscious trio
"Yes, Cubone. Those guys are from Team Rocket. These guys have been after us since our journey began" Jake explained
Cubone glared at the trio as he never forgot what they had did to his mother. Then, Haunter appeared
"Haunter! You stopped them from capturing Pikachu and Bulbasaur!" Ash yelled
"And I can definitely see why" Jake said as he looks at the net in James' hand
"Way to go! Now, let's get back to Sabrina's gym!" Ash said
Haunter looked confused at what he said
"Come on, Haunter. You're my friend's best chance at fighting Sabrina's Psychic Pokémon" Jake pleaded
"Yeah. You promised you'd help me battle Sabrina! I can't beat her Psychic Pokémon without you." Ash said
"Haunt Haunt Haunt" Haunter said in refusal
"Is that why you left us in middle of Ash's gym battle? Could it be that you don't want to battle?" Jake asked
"Haunter" Haunter said as it nods his head
"Please, you can't let her make a fool out of me." Ash begged
"What he said. You gotta do this for us. If you don't beat Sabrina, then who will?" Jake asked
"Haunter!" Haunter replied as it agrees to help them
"Looks like Haunter agrees to help us" Jake said
"Oh, gee. Thanks, Haunter! Thank you! Just help us save our friends and you'll never have to help me out again!" Ash said
"Haunt Haunt Haunt Haunt Haunt." Haunter replied
"Come on everyone. Let's head back to the Saffron Gym" Jake said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur replied
"Cubone" Cubone added
"Right. Let's go!" Ash said
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said
And they all head back to the Saffron Gym
'I sure hope Misty, Brock, and Green are doing okay' thought Jake 'Who knows what Sabrina will do to them now that they're dolls"
Back in the Saffron Gym, Sabrina had just placed Misty, Brock, and Green in her toy box. Misty and Brock are on a sofa while Green was placed on a chair in one of the houses.
"Misty, Green, what do you think is gonna happen to us?" Brock asked
"I don't know. I've never been a doll before." Misty replied
"Me neither. And I don't like being one" Green added
"I don't even like dolls! Are we gonna stay stuck this way forever?" Brock asked
"That depends. It's up to Sabrina" a female voice said
"Who said that?" Green asked
They look in surprise to see another doll sitting on a chair
"That other doll just spoke." Misty said in surprise
"It's nice to have company. I'm Sabrina's mother." the doll greeted
"No way!" Green said in surprised
"Her mother?!" Brock yelled in shock
"She turned you into a doll too?" Misty asked
"Please, don't think badly of Sabrina. She's really a good daughter." Sabrina's mother said
"That's hard to believe" Green said
They then heard giggling. The roof was taken off to reveal Sabrina and her doll
"My new dolls are so cute!" Sabrina's doll said
Misty, Brock, and Green gasped
"What game should I play first with my brand new Brock, Misty, and Green dolls? Maybe we can have tea." Sabrina's doll guessed
"Sabrina! Turn us back into humans right now!" Brock pleaded
"You can't leave us as dolls forever!" Green added
"I challenge you to a match! If I win, you gotta change us back!" Misty yelled
"If I change you back, you'll just run away from me. You have to stay as dolls! We'll play together all the time and we'll all be friends forever." the doll said
"Sabrina!" Ash called
This gets the Saffron Gym Leader's attention
"I knew he'd be back." she muttered
Ash, Pikachu, and Haunter were facing Sabrina on the battlefield. Jake, Bulbasaur, and Cubone were in the back to cheer him on. Brock, Misty, and Green were placed on her throne
"Have you returned for more humiliation? Haven't you realized that you'll never defeat me?" Sabrina asked coldly
"Brock, Misty, and Green are my friends, and I can't leave them behind! Not even if you turn me, my friend and all our Pokémon into dolls!" Ash yelled
"Ash!" his friends yelled
"If you and your friend want to be a doll, too, I'll be glad to play with you. It'll be a one on one battle. Sabrina's Pokémon will be.." the doll said as Kadabra appears on the battlefield
"Kadabra!"
"As usual" Jake commented
"Saur" Bulbasaur nod it's head
"Cubone" Cubone added
"And for my Pokémon, I choose Haunter!" Ash yelled
"Haunter?" Sabrina asked
" Well, where is your Pokémon?" Sabrina's doll asked
The boys then realize that Haunter has disappeared again
"Oh no! Not again!" Ash yelled
"And just when it promised to help us!" Jake said feeling disappointed
Bulbasaur can only facepalm while Cubone looked around
"Why don't you forfeit?" Sabrina asked
"That way I can have new dolls to play with." Sabrina's doll added
"Uh oh!" Jake squeaked
Bulbasaur and Cubone both gulped when they heard Sabrina's doll say this
"Haunter! Haunter! You promised me! Where'd you go!? Please, stop hiding! Haunter! Haunter!" Ash called out
Pikachu was a little disappointed that Haunter disappeared again
"This time you won't escape." Sabrina said
"My new dollies" her doll laughed
"Dollies!?" Ash and Jake yelled
Ash then sat on the ground feeling defeated
"We're doomed!" Jake yelled in fright
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur added
"Cubone!" Cubone said as it hid behind Bulbasaur
Just then, Pikachu steps up. Much to their surprise
"Pika!" he said
"Pikachu! You don't stand a chance against Kadabra! You'll get beat up again! Come back!" Ash ordered
"Pi Pika!" Pikachu told him
"You don't want Sabrina to make us all dolls?" asked Ash
"Kachu!" Pikachu replied
"You want to fight for us?" Ash asked
"Pika!" Pikachu replied
"Wow. Even though Pikachu was defeated by Kadabra in your last battle, he wants to do it again to protect us" Jake said "I guess that shows how strong the bond between you two is"
"Yeah" Ash said as he was getting teary eyed "Thank you, Pikachu. You're a real pal!"
Pikachu then faced Kadabra on the battlefield
"Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" Ash ordered
Pikachu fired Thunder Shock at Kadabra
"Kadabra, Teleport." Sabrina said
Kadabra teleports to avoid Thunder Shock. Pikachu tries to use Thunder Shock on Kadabra again, but it teleports away no matter how many Thunder Shocks Pikachu does
"Wow. And I thought Beedrill was fast" Jake commented
"Saur" Bulbasaur said
Cubone just look at them confused
"Kadabra, Psybeam." Sabrina commanded
Kadabra then appeared in front of Pikachu. Kadabra then uses Psybeam which knocks Pikachu back
"Try to hang on, Pikachu! Come back at Kadabra with a Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered
Pikachu got up and fired Thunderbolt at Kadabra full blast which hits it and leaving Kadabra charred
"Whoa! You got it, Ash!" Jake said
Bulbasaur and Cubone cheered for Pikachu
"That's it!" Ash yelled
"Recover" Sabrina said
Kadabra used Recover to heal itself from the Thunderbolt much to Ash and Jake's shock.
"Oh no" Jake said
"It's impossible to win." Sabrina said as her doll laughs
Suddenly, Haunter appeared in front of Sabrina
"Haunter?!" Ash and Jake yelled in surprise
Haunter then looks at Sabrina and begins to laugh
"Two against one's not fair!" Sabrina's doll yelled
"What's Haunter doing?" Jake asked
Then, Sabrina's father teleported into the gym
"It's just playing around on it's own. Haunter is not battling against you, so it isn't against the rules." he explained
The boys watched as Haunter begins to make faces at Sabrina. The Saffron Gym leader blinked as she watches Haunted lick his eyes off it's face and show it on his tongue. Haunter then takes out a bomb much to everyone's shock.
"Uh oh!" yelled Jake as he covered his ears while his Bulbasaur and Cubone duck down
The bomb the explodes causing everyone to gasp. As the smoke subsided, Sabrina was still alive except she is covered in soot. Haunter begins to laugh at the joke it made
"Well, at least no one got hurt" Jake said as he took his hands off his ears
After a few minutes, Sabrina's mouth curled into a smile
"She smiled" the man gasped
Then, Sabrina bursts into laughter while joining Haunter's laughing
"Is that Sabrina laughing?" Ash asked
"It sure is buddy" Jake said as he and his Pokémon walk up
"Ever since she started her telekinetic training as a little girl, I've never seen Sabrina laugh like this. I've never seen her so happy in my entire life!" Sabrina's father said as tears flows from his eyes
"I guess it's true what they say: Laughter is the best medicine" Jake said as he watched Sabrina continue laughing
"But, if you've known Sabrina ever since she was a little girl, does that mean..?" Ash asked
"You figured it out, eh?" the man assumed
"You must've taken her baby pictures, too!" Ash said
This caused the man to fall over while Jake sighed
"No, Ash! This man is really Sabrina's father" Jake corrected
"Oh" Ash said as he realize this
Sabrina's father then got up
"Your friend is right! Just how dense can a person be!?" Sabrina's father said before recomposing himself "But I'm glad you came back. That Haunter has helped Sabrina rediscover the human part of her heart."
"What do you mean?! Haunter was supposed to beat the Psychic Pokémon and instead its making friends with Sabrina! Me and my friend are gonna be dolls!" Ash yelled
"Look over there" Sabrina's father said as he points forward
The boys look to see Kadabra rolling on the ground laughing
"I don't get it. It looks like Kadabra's in pain." Ash said
"It's not in any pain. Kadabra and Sabrina are joined telepathically. Kadabra is a-rolling with laughter, just like Sabrina." Sabrina's father explained
"I remembered that during my gym battle against Sabrina" Jake said
"That's right" Sabrina's father replied
Ash can only drop his jaw in disbelief. Jake simply pushed his jaw back up. Haunter continues to do it's comedy routine while Sabrina continues to laugh. As she does that, the doll that represents her disappears while dropping Kadabra's Poké Ball. When that happened, Brock, Misty, and Green are returned to normal.
"Misty! Brock!" Ash said
"Green!" Jake added
"Pika!" Pikachu said
"Bulbasaur" his Bulbasaur said
"Cubone!" Cubone added
"Since Kadabra is no longer able to battle, I officially declare Pikachu the winner!" Sabrina's father announced
"Good for you, Ash" Jake said as he gives him a thumbs up
"Thanks, Jake" Ash said as he return the gesture
With their adventure in Saffron City done, the gang were walking away from the gym while waving goodbye to Sabrina and her parents
"Goodbye!" Ash said
"Hope we meet again!" Jake added
"Thank you for everything!" Sabrina's father called out
"Have a good journey!" Sabrina's mother called
"Take care of yourselves!" Ash called
"See you later!" Misty added
"Farewell" Green said as she waved her hand
After saying their goodbyes, the gang finally began to hit the road. Ash was looking at his new Marsh Badge
"I finally got a Marsh Badge" he said
"That's right, buddy" Jake said "Now we only need 4 more to go"
"Jake is right" Brock said "And that Marsh badge puts you two one step further along the road to the Pokémon League."
"Yeah, but do you really think I deserve to get this Marsh badge?" Ash asked
"Sure. Making Sabrina laugh herself into a defeat is a great strategy." Misty replied
"Pika pika" Pikachu said
"Keep it up, and you'll be known as the funniest Pokémon master of all time!" Brock said.
Green giggled when she heard this.
"They got you there, Ash" Jake said
"Very funny you guys" Ash replied as they walked past a truck pouring cement into a hole
Ash stopped when he heard Team Rocket's voice
"What's wrong?" Brock asked
"I could've sworn I heard Team Rocket's voices." Ash replied
"You must be hearing things, buddy" Jake said
"Saur" Bulbasaur said as he nods it's head
"Cubone bone" Cubone replied
"We got more important stuff to think of. Like, where we're going." Misty said
"What she said" Green added with a giggle
"Okay. So, where's the next closest gym?" Ash asked
"In Celadon City" Misty answered
"Look out, Celadon City! Ash Ketchum's coming to town!" Ash declared
"And don't forget Jake Serling!" Jake added
"Pika" Pikachu said
"Bulbasaur" Bulbasaur added
"Cubone" Cubone said as he held up his bone
And with that, the two boys and their Pokémon took off to reach their destination
"Hey! Wait up, Ash!" Misty yelled
"Don't leave us behind, Jake" Green added
The friends then chase after boys as they continue on the road to Celadon City.
