Hi! Ihmp here. From here on out, I'll be writing the story as if Lucas's group aren't there and like I'm reading it myself. I will add some content on Lucas's story, but it will only be marginal for the time being. Enjoy!

Dear whoever the fuck finds this, my name is Rei. Professor Laventon told me I should pick up a hobby instead of moping around about being in another world. Akari told me to write a journal so that I can record my "useless, bottom-feeding, leeching ass." Yeah, she's mean. But I did take her advice.

Alright, let's fill you in. My name is Rei, like I said before, and at about 1:00 PM I was taken from my home and sent here. Haven't completely figured out where here is, though. The locals tell me it's called Jubilife Village in the world of Hisui. Now, I don't remember much from the time between my taking and my arrival, but I do remember some angelic deer Pokémon thing popping out and talking to me. Pretty sure that was God. Anyway, after that I fell from the sky and somehow survived a 60 ft. fall onto coarse sand. That's where I met Professor Laventon. Curious man, for sure. I talked to him a bit, and he said he needed my help catching Pokémon. Of course, I helped. I wasn't exactly an expert in my old world, but Pokémon were common enough that any 15-year-old could probably catch one within 5 tries. Oh right! Yeah, I'm 15.

Now, from what I can gather, I've gone back in time to the land before Sinnoh, known as Hisui. If I have any chance of discovering why I'm here, I need to be patient and, at the least, try to fit in.

Anyway, after I helped out the professor, he brought me over to this village where I met Akari. My first reaction? Thinking she was kind of cute. Her first reaction? The grimmest scowl I have ever seen. She looked like a fucking demon. She had me come with her to meet her boss. Now, if Akari was emotional, Captain Cyllene was absolutely emotionless. I swear, give her a smile? Nothing. A frown? Nothing. I even flipped the bird at her! Apparently that's not a thing yet, so I had to have an awkward explanation on why that's not nice. Anyway, she ignored everything I did and told me to get going to the "Obsidian Fields" to complete my entry trial for the Galaxy Team, because that's the only way I'm allowed to stay in the village. Kind of fucked up, right? I don't know what I was expecting, but I thought it was kind of fucking cruel. Anyway, as I made my way out of the captain's office, Professor Laventon approached me and asked if I would like a starter Pokémon. I said yes, and we were off to his laboratory...which was right next to the captain's office. There, I chose to have the Cyndaquil as my starter Pokémon. I'm gonna be completely honest: I just really like fire-types.

After that, I got 20 Poké Balls and headed off. I swear these things are fucking ancient. Like they're made of wood and ore. It's actually pretty cool. So I was heading with Akari to some gate or something to get going. Tried making conversation, failed. It went a lot like this:

"So, do you have any hobbies?"

"Pokemon study."

"But, that's your job."

"And?"

"Well, you do something other than research Pokémon, right?"

"I sleep."

"Anything else?"

"I eat."

"Anything other than the bare necessities?"

"I train my Pikachu."

"Oh! So you have a Pikachu!"

"Yes."

And that was the flow of the entirety of the conversation. Eventually we got to the gate, only to be stopped by some blonde dude. Name was Polo or Solo or Volo. I think it was Polo. Anyway, Polo was curious, so he challenged me to a battle. Gotta say, Polo was pretty damn weak. Whooped his ass frontwards, backwards, and sideways. Just to test things out, I threw a Poké Ball at his Togepi. Apparently that's rude because Akari took me aside and beat my ass. I'm ashamed to admit it, but Akari is much stronger than she looks. After I beat up Polo and got beat up by Akari, I retrieved my Pokéball and went on my way. Because I beat him, Polo gave me some potions. Afterwards we made off to the Obsidian Fields. By the time we got to the fields, nightfall had struck. I'm gonna be completely honest: the progression of that day was completely off. We got into the pre-made tents at the camp (I swear there were stains all over the tent and cot) and went off to dreamland.

I woke up the next morning to find my Cyndaquil burning my blankets. I did not remember letting him out. Within an instant, I threw my Cyndaquil out of my tent and extinguished the flames. However, my Cyndaquil had fallen into some dried bushes, and I became responsible for the second biggest arson committed on the Obsidian Fields (apparently Akari made a similar mistake with her Pikachu). After a quick apology to the firemasters (apparently this period's crappy retail version of firefighters), I set off with Akari to complete my trials. I caught a couple Pokémon (first try, of course) and raised up my Cyndaquil's level, which was already nearing his evolution level (17). Apparently, arson really helps out fire-type Pokémon with speed-running life. Who would've thought? Anyway, I caught the customary Bidoof, Starly, and Shinx. Named all of them too (including my Cyndaquil), but I'll tell you their names later. Anyway, after that we went back to Captain Cyllene's office (I think from now on I'll just refer to her as "the captain"). I was told to change into some dude's clothes. Yeah. Not newly sewn clothes. Ones that a dude died in. Apparently they're making budget cuts. But I also got a free apartment, so yeah! I went back to the apartment, cleaned out some blood from my new old clothes, and put them on. I rushed back to the captain's office and was told to report to Commander Kamado. I went upstairs and met with him. I don't know if I ever clarified this, but the Galaxy Team headquarters is fucking huge! Like 3 stories! They're doing something right. Anyway, the geezer was rambling about something (I'm sorry, I get bored! My old doctor told me I had something called attention deficit—oh my god, there's a red streak in my quill). After the one-sided conversation ended, I promptly left, (discreetly) slapping Akari's ass on the way out and making my way to my new apartment. I screamed into my pillow for a bit before heading back out. I got some clothes from a cougar named Anthe. Rawr. I'm kidding; she's just a sweet lady who runs the local clothier. Anyhow, I went back into the galaxy building to see Captain Cyllene again because, like I said, I have ADHD, and I completely forgot what she was saying to me. I remembered that I had gotten some sort of "recipe" from her. So during the second explanation, I paid attention.

She said that I was a loser. A no-star loser. Now I'm paraphrasing here, but the majority of her explanation went like this:

"You're a fucking loser. A no-star loser. You gotta do shit to make yourself useful around these parts. That means filling out your Pokédex, hoe. Now get off my turf."

No, I don't know why I gave her such a gangster tone of voice. But it's fucking hilarious. Anyway, I went down to some depressed dude's workshop. He was so fucking miserable he let me use it for free. I crafted some Poké Balls and was about to haul ass out of there, but I got jumped by Professor Laventon. Now, I don't have anything against him. He seems like a nice guy. But I was tired. So I asked him why he stopped me. The man lifted me off my feet, carried me to a table at a mochi restaurant (where Akari was sitting and glaring at me), and sat me down next to the ice queen. He handed me this small little notebook that had a bunch of empty pages. He said that was a Pokédex, and it was my duty as a freeloader to help with their efforts to study Pokémon. I didn't really have a choice in the matter, so I just nodded along and ate some mochi that this creepy dude named Beni served. Why did I find him creepy? I didn't hear him. I am a very perceptive person when it comes to body movement and my danger sense. I. Did. Not. Hear. Him. Coming. It was as if he was a ninja. But no, Beni was pretty cool. Let us eat for free. So I had a nice dinner with the professor and Akari and told the two that I would try to do my best filling out research tasks.

And that's about it. Right now I'm in my room lying down on my bed after a hard day's work. Cyndaquil committed arson again. Akari still hates me (I haven't figured out why). And the professor got high on some new berries that I found. All in all, a good day. I'll try to have some more good news in entry two.

Hi! The author here! Now, this is the longest I've ever written a chapter to a story. So I'd like you, the reader's, input. Would you rather I update in short and sweet chapters? Or should I bring out a chunk every time I update? Please vote in the reviews. Thanks for reading!
