Always go all out at picnics
Happy Trails Trailer Park picnic grounds
A few barbeque grills were warming up to cook some meat as several adults gathered around at the park to cook out on labor day. Sitting over at the picnic benches under the park shelter was Vicky with a vacant expression as she clicked clacked away on her phone. The teen was bored out of her mind, but she couldn't ignore the deal of watching the kids of the parents all in one sitting. She didn't need to do anything if she was being honest, the little snots could look after themselves.
What killed her mood was no television or anything else that could entertain her, Vicky had her phone but that only went so far to ease her boredom with the tetris game on it.
Over by the grills, Bucky McBadbat could be seen keeping an eye on the charcoal of the grill, the man still had a paper bag on his head. Walking over from the trailers was Helen in her casual wear, carrying some chip bags. Bucky turned his head to look towards Helen, "Glad you good make it miss Torrance!" The retired baseball player waved at the single mother.
Vicky idly watched as Helen placed the bags aside on the picnic, before taking her attention back to her phone. Helen dusted her hands off and waltzed over to Buck, "It is labor day after all!" The woman quipped with a smirk as she stood near the grill, before frowning at seeing nothing cooking yet. "Who's supposed to bring the meat?" Helen asked Bucky quizzically.
Helen's question was soon answered when A.J. and his parents arrived in a suped up RV; Once the vehicle parked nearby, from out of the doorway AJ's dad exited the RV with bags in hand. "Happy Labor Day!" The man exclaimed in a cheerful demeanor towards the folks at the picnic.
AJ's mom wasn't far behind, followed by AJ himself as he exited the vehicle to head over to Chester.
Chester made a smile as he greeted AJ, "You made it dude!" The kid remarked to his friend.
AJ returned the expression, "Yeah, my dad had to run to the Vegan mart real quick before coming back." The kid responded, earning a confused look from Chester.
"Vegan…is that some kind of new meat?" Chester asked his friend with a quizzical look.
Over with Bucky and Helen standing near the grill, Bucky finally realized who was missing. "That's right, where's your son Ricky?" The retired baseball player asked the mother of Ricky, Helen responded by looking down at her wrist watch. "That kid of mine said he left to get some food, but I told him the food would be covered." She remarked with a shrug.
AJ's dad eventually reach the other two parents with a smile along with his wife, "Guuueeesss who has steak!" The parent of AJ declared with a delighted chuckle.
Bucky made an effort to glare at the man with the bag on his head, and put his hands on his hips from impatience. "It's been over an hour Gregory, stop stalling!" The retiree demanded from the father of AJ.
'Gregory' chuckled in response, "Well if you insist!" The man responded before pulling out some packages of…
Helen made a pointed look at the stuff that AJ's dad took out from one of his bags, "Tell me you didn't-"
"Tofu hot dogs, burgers, and steak!" AJ's dad interrupted her with a chuckle, "I thought it would be nice for everyone to try out some vegan food for once!" The man declared, earning groans from everyone and glares from Bucky and Helen.
Over at the picnic tables, Vicky released a frustrated sigh and removed herself from the table she sat at. She was kind of looking forward to the food, but was ruined by the tofu 'meat'. Vicky made her way to enter the R.V, surely the vehicle had some form of entertainment. "Excuse me, is your bathroom available?" Vicky asked AJ's dad as she approached the man, using the excuse to remove herself from the bore.
Gregory smiled at Vicky, "Why go ahead!" The man responded to Vicky.
The teen girl smirked and made to remove herself from the remainder of the picnic party, her attention however along with everyone else was halted and brought over the entrance of the park at the sound of a loud diesel engine with the fence blocking the view for now of what was being driven. A hiss echoed from the entrance, before the sound of beeping could be heard as the diesel vehicle could be seen finally being backed up into the park.
The partygoers blinked in surprise as they could see Ricky in the driver's seat, looking out from his window as he backed up a dump truck. "Whoooose hungry?" the teen announced excitedly, before stopping the truck just short a good distance into the park.
Ricky glanced inside the vehicle he sat in to shut the engine off, before looking over at Vicky. "Yoooo, Vickay! Where ya think ya goin! You're gonna miss the big event!" The teen announced excitedly.
Vicky glared in response at Ricky and Stomped over to him, "I doubt it! And since you're here, you can take over this snooze fest!" The teen girl remarked to Ricky.
The other teenager opened the door with a click, before hopping out to land onto the ground with a grin. Ricky shut the driver's door of the truck, before gesturing towards the back of the truck. "If you were disappointed by whatever crapsack food the parents brought…no offense mom." Ricky hollered the last bit over at Helen, earning a wave of indifference from her.
Vicky put her hands on her hips with a glare, "Get to the point!" She responded at Ricky.
Ricky walked over to the hydraulic switch on the back of the truck's cab, "Feast ya eyes on za piece ah resistánce!" The teen announced as the truck began to tilt its trunk, and from out the back a few dead cows were dumped onto the ground. "Behold! We're 'bout to get real 'Merican up in this mutha!" Ricky declared to Vicky with a proud grin.
Bucky walked over with an excited chuckle. "Alright! Now this is gonna be one heck of a labor day!" The father of Chester declared.
Vicky gave Ricky a critical look. "Where and how did you get three dead cows!" She asked him with a tone of incredulity.
Ricky smiled in response to Vicky, "From a farm, and got them from a favor I was owed!" The teen boy responded with a chuckled and nod.
Vicky glanced at the three cows, before giving Ricky a glare. "How are you gonna cook these cows!" She exclaimed in confusion.
AJ's dad walked over with a disapproving attitude, "Ricky, it'll take all day to smoke all that!" The man remarked, before smiling as he held up his tofu food. "Here, why not cook up something healthy and clean!"
Ricky glanced at AJ's dad with a puzzled look, "Smoke it? What are you smoke'n?" He asked with an amused look, "I ain't smoke'n jack!" Ricky added and brought out his flip phone. After opening the phone up, Ricky dialed into it before bringing it to his ear with a grin. "All right, bring it in!"
The adults had a look of surprise as another diesel engine could be heard, and before long a flatbed truck with a crane and giant vat on it could be seen driving into the park. Ricky presented his arms towards the parked vehicle when it finally parked nearby, "We're flash frying these babies!" He announced with a smirk.
Over at the playground ground, Chester and AJ glanced at each other in confusion. AJ was the first to speak up, "How did a teen even get the okay to even drive a truck like that?!"
Chester offered AJ a smile, "Oh who cares dude! Actual meat rather than that nasty tofu!" He responded with excitement.
Timmy had an excited look on his face as he sat in the back seat of his parents' car; today was labor day which meant no school, and no school meant no Crocker!
Sitting atop his shoulders were his two godparents posing as mice, Cosmo glanced up at Timmy from his perch. "What kinda food are we expecting Timmy?" The fairy godparent asked his godchild.
Timmy glanced over at Cosmo with a smile, "It's usually hot dogs and burgers!" He responded, before making a look of thought. "Although, everyone takes turns each year to buy the meat…I think it's AJ's dad's turn…" Timmy remarked with a peculiar look.
Wanda looked up at Timmy with a worried expression, "What's the matter, sport?"
Timmy glanced over at Wanda with a short sigh, "AJ's dad can be a bit…too safe, is the word I can only think of?" He questioned himself.
Their discussion was halted once the vehicle eventually reached the park, and was parked by the other cars. "You smell that?" Mrs. Turner queried as the family exited the car, Mr. Turner sniffed before smiling. "Ooh, someones got a deep fryer going!"
It wasn't long before the Turners reached the park shelter and grills, Timmy had to blink at what he saw. Not far from the grills were Ricky and Vicky in particular, with the adults standing at the sidelines with hungry expressions…save one he thinks when he takes another glance at AJ's dad.
Timmy didn't know what to think when he saw Ricky work with a crane to lower an entire cow covered in batter into the enormous vat, Cosmo was the first to voice his thoughts. "Wow! Now that's deep frying!" The fairy mouse exclaimed.
Over with Ricky and Vicky, the teen girl had a skeptical expression as she watched Ricky lower the beer battered cow. "Where did you even get the money to get all this!" She questioned him.
Ricky glanced Vicky's way after he finished lowering the entire cow into the vat, "Rather Easy when people owe you favors!" He grinned towards Vicky.
Vicky backed away when Ricky brought out a lighter, "Vicky, stand back!" The teen announced with excitement, before lighting the burner below the vat. With a whoosh of fire, flames were ignited under the vat of oil…only the fire had been larger than expected from Ricky when the flames had covered the vat for a second before calming down.
Vicky gave Ricky a smirk of satisfaction for her own amusement when the teen boy turned to look at her with burnt off eyebrows and soot covered face, "Ey, anyone smell bacon, could've sworn I lowered a cow!" The teen remarked with a few sniffs, and smiled with a shrug causing Vicky to roll her eyes.
The teen girl left to actually use the restroom, she supposed the picnic wasn't a total bust. Over with the adults, AJ's dad gave Helen a worried expression. "Is your son gonna be alright?" He asked her.
Ricky's mother offered a simple look of indifference, and shrugged before opening up a can of pop. "He'll be alright." She responded, already used to Ricky's antics by now.
Over with Timmy, the kid made his way over to Chester and AJ with an excited smile. "Hey guys!" He greeted his friends with a short wave.
Chester and AJ returned the greeting, with Chester speaking up first. "Dude, you shoulda seen what AJ's dad almost ruined the picnic with!"
AJ glanced at Chester with a disappointed look, "Oh come on, Tofu wouldn't have been that bad!" He reasoned, earning both of his friends to spit their tongues out in disgust.
"Hard pass!" Timmy responded with a gag, "At least Ricky brought a whole cow!" He added.
Chester held up three fingers, "Three actually, and he injected them with cheese of three different kinds in each one!" The kid exclaimed with a brace filled smile.
Timmy glanced over at the vat with an excited expression, "Now this outta be good!" The fairy godchild remarked to himself.
Later
Ricky worked diligently in draining the cooled cooking oil into metal waste barrels; Using the crane from before to lower the cows, Ricky now used it to raise the vat up.
AJ's Dad took the chance to walk over and question the teen, "You are going to take that to the correct disposal site, right?" He accused Ricky with a questioning look.
Ricky turned around to look at AJ's dad, "Oh, this used oil?" He thumbed at the Vat hung in the air from the crane, Ricky laughed at the parent. "Imma 'bout to make a mint off selling this used oil to some hippy!" The teen announced with a smirk and thumbed at the vat behind him.
Gregory gave Ricky a skeptical look, "What use would used oil give?" The parent asked incredulously.
The teenager gave AJ's dad a stupefied look, "I thought you of all people would know about the potential use of cars running off of used cooking oil!" Ricky exclaimed with a laugh.
AJ's dad made a shocked expression, "Someone made a motor that can run on used cooking oil!?" He asked in shock
Ricky tutted at AJ's dad, "Get with the times, look it up on the internet!" He chided the parent before turning around to begin the task of draining the oil into the empty barrels nearby.
Gregory glanced between the barrels and Ricky, before leaving to check on several things inside his RV. "This can't be, Did I miss some kind of memo at the recycling convention!?" The parent asked himself as he left the scene.
Ricky meanwhile whistled with a smirk as he drained the oil, today was a good labor day picnic.
AN; 'Merica!
