Something's Crazy in the Snow
Dimmsdale Suburbs
The amount of snow accumulating on the ground reached unprecedented levels as houses were nearly submerged under several feet of snow, the only thing sticking out by now of the houses were small parts of the roofs and chimneys; A loud horn echoed throughout the area as a massive snow plow truck is seen slowly forcing its way through the thick feet of snow, it was driven through the snow like a sea being parted like fables of old. After several minutes passed, the truck eventually stopped with overheated smoke wafting from its engine out from its hood, the snow around the front end of the truck melted somewhat from the overheating of the engine.
Meanwhile inside the cab of the snow plow truck, the scene is treated to the sight of Ricky pulling a few knobs and flicking a few switches as he allowed his truck to somewhat 'take a breather' so to speak; Ricky's expression was far from worried, he simply smiled with excitement as he worked on managing his vehicle. Vicky, who sat in the front passenger seat in the meanwhile, finally began munching on her own breakfast, as the front dashboard was still flipped over with the whole set up of a toaster, waffle iron, and a whole slew of other gadgets.
In the back seat of the truck was an eager Tiimmy who sat on the right side with a mug of hot cacao in hand, he'd occasionally take a sip from his beverage and enjoy the moment; On his shoulder were two distinct looking colored mice, both seemed to be munching away on bits of bacon. In the middle seat was Jeffrey the Bouncer, the man had his own mug with coffee in it. Finally on the left side of the back seat was Trixie who had a bored expression after finishing her breakfast.
Trixie was the one to speak up first while Ricky was working on getting his truck to get working again, she had her chin rest on her palm while she leaned her elbow against the lip of the windowsill; the only thing viewable now form the outside was a practical wall of snow, Trixie however could only smirk at Ricky's misfortune and she glanced over at the back of Ricky's seat. "Well, looks like the job's done." She tittered mildly, before glared at the headrest of Ricky's seat. "Now take me home stupid bus driver!" she gritted out.
Ricky stopped what he was doing and leaned around his seat to look at Trixie with an excited smile, "Nonsense Tri-lanka! The fun's just started!" he exclaimed before sitting back on his seat, while Trixie let out a shriek of annoyance. "RAAAAH! It's Trixie, you stupid Bus Driver!" She yelled with her arms thrown up in exasperation.
Having just finished her breakfast, Vicky looked over at Ricky who was fiddling with a few things under the steerwheel of the truck. She gave him a look of amusement as he worked to get his vehicle back up to working condition, "Well, she's right about one thing, we won't be getting anywhere with this stupid truck stuck here." Vicky mused glibly while her eye belied her criticism, it was one thing to be stuck watching the twerp, but at least now she had a practical full course breakfast meal. The only thing missing is if Ricky allowed her to drive the insanely massive snow plow truck, then Vicky's day wouldn't be half bad.
…What? Can't a girl enjoy driving big vehicles capable of demolishing houses, wrecking up cars, and paving a path of devastation…so to speak?
Vicky then remembered what Trixie called Ricky, she glared and leaned around her seat to give Trixie a nasty look. "HEY, He has a name spoiled twerp! If anyone is going to call him names, it'll be me!" she yelled with an angered look directed at Trixie. The popular girl however simply crossed her arms and harrumphed with her nose stuck upwards
"As if!" Trixie argued back and angled her head away towards the window next to her, "Saying someone's name of a lower class is beneath me." she haughty smirked in protest.
With a look that promised pain, Vicky unbuckled her seatbelt to begin climbing over her seat, "I'll show you who's beneath who!" Vicky shrieked with anger, while Trixie let out a strangle cry of fright while she backed away into the back of her seat. Ricky's hand however was shoved in front of Vicky's chest to stop her, Vicky glared over at Ricky with a perturbed look. "What, are you just going to sit there and take these insults? Let me at her!" She yelled.
Ricky simply smiled as he motioned her over to him, "Come on, I'm going to need your help to fix the engine." He responded while holding a tools box in hand.
Vicky gave Ricky an incredulous look and gestured to the wall of snow around them, "How, idiot? If you haven't noticed, there's now way we can get out-" Vicky's words were soon caught in her throat when Ricky bent over to pull a hatch of all things below his feet.
As Ricky hopped down into the hole in front of his seat, his head was now even with the steering wheel; with his toolbox in one hand, Ricky used his other hand to lean down and pick up a hard hat with light on the front that switched on once he fastened the hard hat on. Ricky looked up at a bewildered Vicky and grins while gesturing for her to follow, "Come on! And don't forget to grab a hard hat! Safety First!" He exclaimed before he pulled something from below the hatch door, and soon an elevator tune began playing while he was descending down until he was no longer seen.
Vicky could only blink in surprise and moved to peer down into the hatch, "How-" "you coming or not?!" Ricky said as he peered into view from below, "I'll even let you take a turn to drive the truck!" He bargained with Vicky.
With a roll of her eyes as she began climbing over the seats, "Yeah yeah, move out of the way!" Vicky snapped at Ricky with an annoyed expression whilst she sat in the driver's seat to angle her feet towards the hatch, and then slid down through the opened hole in the vehicle floor. As Vicky slid her way down, she was stopped on the same 'platform' that Ricky stood on. Vicky began feeling under the floor and hatch for whatever Ricky used to be lowered down, "Ricky, where's the stupid, oh here it is." she said while the 'elevator' began lowering her down to the depths below accompanied by an elevator tune.
As Vicky descended to whatever was below the vehicle floor, a helmet was tossed up and landed onto her head. "Safety First!" Ricky yelled from below, while Vicky glared and began fastened her hardhat on. "Yeah yeah, sheesh!" she exclaimed before vanishing from sight below the floor to the dark depths below the vehicle floor.
From the back seat, Jeffery climbed over to the front passenger seat to get him another cup of coffee from the 'breakfast dashboard', thus leaving Timmy and Trixie with nothing to separate them now. Tiimy was the first to speak up with a smile, "so…quite a day, right Trixie?" he asked in hopes of striking a conversation with the popular girl of his school.
Recovering from being threatened by Vicky, Trixie patted down her shirt to wipe off any dirt that might have stuck onto her from scooting back on her seat too much; after believing she was done, Trixie scoffed with a glance directed at Timmy. "It'd be a better day if none of this happened! I should be out there showing off my new winter jacket!" she said with an annoyed look while crossing her arms once more and leaned a bit on the vehicle door next to her.
Timmy shrugged at Trixies answer and gestured around, "Well, not sure you could have now, with the way the snow has been." he pointed out.
Sounds of drilling and power tools could be heard from where Ricky and Vicky had disappeared down through the opened hatch in the driver's side floor, "Hey, are you certified for a blow torch?" Ricky asked with an echo of his voice, followed by the sound of a clicking noise then an ignition of a blow torch lighting up.
"Gimme that! I'll show you certification! I own a flamethrower afterall!" Vicky argued while the echoes of continuous heavy machinery sounds could be heard from down below the floor through the opened hatch.
Meanwhile back with Timmy and Trixie, Trixie let out an annoyed and exhausted sigh before she pulled out her flip phone; She soon began to fiddle with it to text her 'friends', meanwhile Timmy perked up as he looked at Trixie's phone. "Waoh, neat! You got a cell phone?" He questioned the girl.
Trixie made an incredulous look while she put down her flip phone to look at Timmy, "Duh! Doesn't everyone have cell phones by now?" she said questions to Timmy.
Timmy promptly shrugged while he shook his head a bit, "Nope, even my friends don't have one." he responded back nonchalantly, which prompted Trixie to make a clueless expression. "You mean not everyone has cell phones?" she questioned naively.
Meanwhile from the opened hatch on the driver's side of the vehicle floor, a small puff of fire exploded out before whimpering out to a sizzle from back into the depths. "See! Told you that'd happen!" Ricky guffawed as Vicky let out an annoyed growl while the sounds of hammering could be heard. "Yeah yeah, laugh it up wisecrack!" Vicky responded with annoyance laced in her voice.
"Now what about this? It's clearly stuck!" Vicky said while the sound of something metal and heavy could be heard dropped, "That's your answer? A Jackhammer?" Vicky questioned.
"What, got any better ideas?" Ricky snarked back with an amused tone, followed by the sounds of said Jack Hammer starting up, "Wanna give it a go?" Ricky asked from within the depths as his voice echoed out.
Back with Timmy and Trixie, the two continue to converse on the aspects of reasons to have a cellphone. "I don't know Trixie, sounds kinda stupid to text your friends when you can just talk to them instead." he argued with a shrug.
Trixie could only roll her eyes in exasperation, she pocketed her cell phone back into her pocket and resolved to just wait. "Of course you wouldn't understand, you're a boy." She sniffed haughtily.
Just as Timmy was about to argue back, a rather unsettling sound echoed from the outside and within the wall of snow. Both kids stopped what they were doing and looked to each other, to confirm whether the other heard it or not. They both blinked and glanced forward to see Jeffery looking back at them as well. "Uh…you's two heard that?" he asked the children curiously.
Timmy took the initiative by unbuckling himself to climb to the front seats and glance down where Ricky and Vicky disappeared down into, "Hey Ricky! Was that you guys making that weird animal sound?" he hollered down through the cacophony of heavy machinery echoing from down below. The cacophony of power tools stopped momentarily before Ricky could be seen walking into view from the dark depths below, his face was covered in soot and his hair was singed a bit. "What animal sounds?" he questioned.
"Get back over here Ricky and help me with this part!" Vicky yelled from further in the depths of the underside, prompting Ricky to leave from sight. "Here, I have some oil for that, we'll need it to get the engine running smoothly again!" Ricky suggested, followed by the sound of a can opener and a lid being torn open.
Back with Timmy and the others, the whale-like sound echoed once again from the outside of the truck. All three present stilled themselves as a massive shadow could be seen swimming through the wall of snow around them, it wasn't long until it could be seen 'swimming' towards them from the side. As the unknown 'animal' swam, it soon swam up and over the truck, causing piles of snow to fall upon the roof of the truck. Jeffery was the first to speak up with a silent tone, "...the legend is true." he spoke with silent awe.
Timmy and Trixie quizzically glanced at each other, before Trixie spoke up first amongst them. "What legend?" she spouted silently with a look of disbelief.
Jeffery leaned into view with a look of trepidation, "The Abominable Snow Whale!" said silently, and as if it heard its name, the Snow Whale loud out a guttural warble tone as its shadow within the wall of snow could be seen swimming in the wall of snow at the front.
