Chapter 39. To save both friends, stopping the network, battle the red girls
In the destroyed city 9S is seen walking through it along with one of his arms are replaced by mysteriously 2B's somehow and his mind is not well.
9S: ... A2, I swear I will kill you and avenge 2B… that tower I need to reach it and stop the enemy.
In a different area A2 is seen heading to that same direction of the tower after meeting up with most of the Androids who were freed from the virus and now they wonder what they are supposed to do now knowing that the humans of their world is long gone.
Android: what are we supposed to do?
Android 2: the humans we are sworn to protect are long dead what are we to do… why were we lied about this by the commander White, why keep this a secret? Just why…
A2: hey!
Androids: !?
A2: you guys have to accept the truth humanity is long gone they aren't coming back ever and soon the Yorha program is going to exterminate all of us so it can create the next generation.
When they all heard that all of them slowly started to lose there way and wonder what they should do and there purpose for existing along with the fear of being destroyed as well.
A2: … look if any of you are looking for any humans then go to the resistance base, but know this they aren't the humans of our world and they might give you all something to do, as for me I'm heading to that tower and destroy it.
Then A2 leaves and heads to the tower to destroy it since it is possibly connected to the Alien network which needs to be destroyed immediately.
(Scene change)
(Fullmetal alchemist – brothers Instrument)
At the resistance base two of the bracelet girls which are Yuzu and Ruri being alone with there own thoughts thinking about the battle against Emil's copies and seeing Emil die along with the words that the copies said to them about pain and suffering which they don't know what it's like, though Ruri understand what pain and suffering is she can't help but think about Yuto's pain of trying to save her only to suffer even more and become consumed by darkness, Yuzu thinks about Yuya and how she in some way worried him far to much and the suffering he had to go through just to reach her only for everything to fall apart and be separated once again and now she and Ruri is feeling even more lonely then ever.
Yuzu: … Yuya…
Ruri: … Yuto…
Yuzu and Ruri: I miss you…
Meanwhile with the others, they all talk about what happened with Emil along with his death which made them all sad, they soon talked about the unknown tower that appeared suddenly from the ground below and it is pointed at the moon for some reason.
Yushai: so you all think that to intends destroy the moon?
Anemone: that's what we think but I still believe we should check it out since my scouts saw a lot of infected which I think is the last Remnant of them.
Krystina: but wouldn't this just be pointless? What would they gain from destroying the moon? They should know that they will die to right?
2B: they should know that… perhaps they just want to end all of this.
Anemone: also my scouts also say they saw 9S heading to that tower, A2 is also seen heading in the same direction.
2B: 9S…
Yushai: well at least we know where they are going and there's a possibility that 9S is infected by the virus meaning he needs serious help.
Then a bunch of Androids arrived at the resistance base all of them wanting to know what do by asking Yushai and Krystina, the girls find this uncomfortable being treated like some Goddess or something, Yushai feels the same as well he doesn't want to be treated like a God or have some harem that is some men's dream so he went on ahead and tells them what they have to hear.
Yushai: listen, I believe that it's time you all lived for yourselves and decide how you all want to live after all, you guys and the Alien robots are already starting to become human so in a way that means a new life is born in you all.
Androids: …
Yushai: also I believe that if the humans of this world was still around, I think they would all be happy to have met you all, sure there would be ups and downs but I think that they would be happy to have met you all.
The Androids didn't know what to say to that but it felt like something heavy has been left off there shoulders that has been with them for a long time, after a few minutes the group gets ready to head to the tower, the Androids wished them luck on there mission, then the group heads to there destination.
(Scene change)
(Nier – Shadow lord's castle)
After a short while the group arrived at the tower until they are confronted by two Androids who was always working with the resistance members.
?: you are a very interesting human, you gave us Androids a reason to keep on living, this time by our own right.
Yushai: umm… who are you two? I know you guys work at the resistance base and it's members but we never really talked.
?2: there's a reason for that, but first we must introduce ourselves, my name is Popola.
?: and I'm Devola, you did the impossible and saved them something that we and our previous models couldn't do…
Yushai: your previous models?
Krystina: what are you two talking about?
Both Popola and Devola started explaining everything that happened in the distance past along with the events of what happened, about project Gestalt and how that failed along with the many things that happened in it, the group was speechless upon hearing what happened along with how the twins know about Emil including his friends as well as the two previous models of that time and why they chose to atone for the mistakes of the past.
Yushai: so, this project Gestalt was supposed to save what's left of humanity but something went wrong and it resulted in the extinction of humanity.
Devola: that is correct.
Krystina: that's so sad… and this beast thing that suddenly appeared out of nowhere along with a person riding a dragon before all of this happened.
Popola: that is the past of this world along with its many tragedies.
Yushai: this is a lot to take in but at least we understand everything now.
Krystina: yeah it does looks like it.
2B: we wasted enough time, we have to find 9S and A2 quickly.
Popola: we will open the door for you but be careful the enemy will show no mercy.
Yushai: got it thank you both for telling us about this.
The goes inside the tower but are suddenly separated, the girls are confronted by a lot of infected machines, meanwhile Yushai finds himself in an unknown space and is confronted by two girls in red.
Yushai: who are you two?
Red girls: scanning, analyzing, can't point out origin of that power but subject is completely human from a different earth, then this one must be torn apart inside out to find our answers.
Yushai: oh crap here they come.
(Nier automata – Grandma)
Yushai summons his Gunpla and begins fighting against the red girls who summons an army of machines that all attack, meanwhile back with Krystina and the others all of them are seen fighting against an army of machines as well.
Krystina: where did they come from!?
Yuzu: there's so many of them!
Selena: seriously who sent these guys after us!
Rin: it looks like they are really trying to kill us!
Ruri: is the virus really giving them the order to kill us?
As they fight against the army 2B spots 9S heading up the tower using the flight units.
2B: 9S!
Krystina: huh? was that him? Then we have to chase after him!
Krystina grabs 2B then they fly up trying to reach 9S but they are confronted by more machines that are still trying to kill them no matter what, back in the unknown space Yushai is seen fighting against the army and the red girls as he destroys much of the enemy's that they sent at him.
Red girls: data on unknown machine recorded now creating many machines of the same type.
The red girls creates copies of Yushai's Gunpla and has them attack him, back Krystina and the others they destroy a lot of enemies while at same time 2B calls out to 9S trying to get him to hear her but he still doesn't hear her, then a much bigger machine appears out of nowhere and attacks them as well and now the battle gets more dangerous.
Back with Yushai, he is seen having a hard time with many of his copies that the red girls created.
Red girls: your defeat is inevitable nothing you do will help you accept your fate.
Yushai: fate… neither you or anyone else has the right to decide anyone's fate!
Yushai activities Awakening and begin destroying many of the copies that are trying to overwhelm him, the red girls seeing this power and is analyzing it still believe they have won but something they did not expect was that power is growing at an accelerating rate and is still going up as there digital realm is starting to creak more as it can't seem to contain it for long.
Red girls: is still growing… 100… 450… 950… 1000… can't keep up… still growing … realm is… system … are… about… to… crash…
Meanwhile outside, Krystina and the others finally reached the top of the tower and so does A2 who was also fighting against another robot, then the two combined and soon started fighting against everyone.
(Nier automata – Dependent Weakling)
The last Alien Machine defense attacks with everything it has to destroy them all, everyone gives it there all not giving it no time to recover.
The tower starts to show damage from the battle almost like it's on the verge of crashing down at any minute, 9S hacks the it causing more damage within its system while the girls attack the outside which damaging it more and more creating making an opening for both 2B and A2 to strike at which they do pushing it to its last stand however this was as far as it goes as Krystina and girls opens fire on the machine destroying it completely.
(End of music)
Even though the battle was over 9S still want to kill A2 for what she did but the moment he saw 2B still alive this caused confusion with both Androids but the one who was greatly affected was 9S.
9S: how… just… how, no you're a copy just a copy…
A2: I have a lot of right now.
Krystina: well… Yushai was able to fix 2B back in our world and we were able to remove the virus and destroy it.
A2: you guys did what? You destroyed the virus? Well that's something.
2B: 9S… it's me you don't have to continue fighting anymore.
9S: Shut up! Just shut up! Your just another copy! I'll destroy every last one of you!
9S's blindfold falls off showing his eyes glowing red meaning he is corrupted by the virus which shocks everyone until he soon attacks them.
(Nier automata – sound of the end)
A2 blocked the attack and tries to reason with 9S to get him to stop fighting, 2B does the same to try and stop her partner as well but she tells Krystina and the others to not to get involved in this fight.
2B: 9S! You have to stop! Please!
9S: I'll kill you! Your not her! Your not 2B! You are just a copy! A soulless copy!
A2: dammit 9S! Listen already that is 2B! She isn't a copy!
9S: be quite! Just be quite! All of humanity has died and there's no reason for us to even exist! Lies all of it was nothing but lies! So I'm going to end it, end all of it! Hahaha ahahahaha!
2B: 9S…
A2: hey don't give up on him, we are going to save him no matter what got it?!
2B: yeah right.
The battle rages on as 9S is too focused on trying to kill 2B which costs him as A2 damages him again which is pushing him to his limit along with his body taking too much and is on his list and might not be able to continue the battle.
9S: I'll kill you… I'll kill… you...
2B: 9S…
A2: I guess we have no choice but to- wait what's that?
Then energy start to form from above them then Yushai appears with Awakening already active and aims it at 9S.
Yushai: 9S! It's time to wake up!
Then Yushai fires a slash wave of awakening at 9S targeting his systems and purging him of the virus completely, then he fell unconscious.
(Nier automata – Vague Hope)
2B goes to check on 9S screaming out his name over and over again until he finally started to wake up his eyes no longer red meaning he is free from the virus 2B hugs him happy that he survived.
2B: 9S…
9S: 2B… it's really you?... no… it's really is you…
The two began to cry tears of joy knowing that they have found each other once again, A2 wasn't used to this happy stuff but at least the battle is over and the Alien threat is finally dealt with, Yushai goes and hugs Krystina showing that he is okay he even tells everyone he encounters two girls in red clothes, 9S tells everyone that those girls are part of the network when he encountered them earlier when he entered the tower.
Yushai: so they were Alien AI's similar to ADAM and EVE.
9S: that's right as for the tower, it's an Ark for most of the Alien robots consciousness's it to take them to another world.
Yushai: I see…
Then a rumbling started to happen suddenly everyone looks up and sees a creature covered in all black but it's eyes were red, then it howls causing the sky above to open creating a gateway and where it leads horrifies everyone.
Then everything fades to black.

To Unseen Urge: yes the upgrades are definitely similar to X1 and X0.
To nexusknight2: yeah that battle really did cause another ptsd to the girls, if you think about the girls didn't really mature through Arc-V which made things pointless towards the end, after all the world's they are heading into are going to have them grow and mature, yeah the dead space universe was doomed to get destroyed anyway and now the virus has made its move.
