A/N: Hello my wonderful readers! As promised Steve will be appearing in this Chapter, and we're going to see more of him in the next two. Then we're going on another stint of just Rowan, Wo Fat and Conejo. I know, I know, but we're almost there! I promise. At the end of this chapter I'm going to give you guys a run down of what's going to happen over the next couple of chapters and how close we are to the end of this season. So don't forget to leave a review and I'll see you guys the next time I've got another chapter ready!

Chapter 262

True to his word, Conejo put Rowan on lock down the second they got back to Armando's safe house. Which left Wo Fat to deposit her winnings in her Vault account. The only upside to being that bored was that Rowan had a lot of time to research the big purchase she wanted to make and to write songs. Dear god she had written so many songs.

On the first day of her grounding Rowan pulled out Trevor's song book and began to lay down the lyrics and music for the first round of songs she had finished, recording them to her computer. This surprised Con and Wo and she was forced to admit that she had already written down most of the songs that went with the musical that her brother was writing. Especially when she let it slip that the song she had sung in the Venice Opera house had been one of them.

Wo had said something like: "Why was I surprised" and then he asked her to open another door for him to go through so he could do more business, or show his face in Victoria so people still thought they were there, and that he'd call her when he was ready to come back.

Rowan felt a lot like a taxi service now. She was allowed to open portal for her brothers, but not for herself. She didn't think that was fair but she understood that they were just trying to keep her safe… and she was grounded after all.

The only downside to the grounding, other than the constant boredom, was the guilt. First it was for what she did to Roman Stepanov… again. She had a whole chance to redo things, completely have them go a different way and she ended up back in a situation where she had no choice but to flip that car and kill him. And she knew he was dead, she had seen the news. She even confirmed with Sandy that Trevor had been picked up and put into WITSEC. Irina had disappeared, probably back to the home country and Rowan was left once again with the feeling that she was a monster. A monster who couldn't escape her past but instead found ways to repeat it over again even when she was trying not to.

Then she felt guilt about all the things she stole. Not so much the musical because she had the music for it and with her connections she could get it to the right people to get production started. No so much the money either because, well… who cared if they stole a couple mill from a bank, they had insurance they'd be fine. No, it was Mr. Buns she felt guilty over.

Granted she loved sleeping with Mr. Buns, his presence made her feel well… safe again, and she rarely had nightmares with him on her pillow, but she knew she wasn't supposed to have him. That this wasn't her Mr. Buns. And his pristine white coat was a constant reminder of that.

She often found herself wondering about her mother and if she was okay. She would have noticed that the stuffed animal was missing by now. Was she mourning it like she mourned the loss of her daughter? Rowan didn't even want to think about it but when the boredom took over and she was alone with that rabbit staring at her with it's glassy, glossy fake eyes, it was all she ever thought about.

It took five days of constant waves of guilt for Rowan to finally loose it. She picked up that Rabbit, opened up a portal and jumped back to her mother's house. It wasn't until she got there that she realized that this was a terrible idea, she hadn't checked to see if there was anyone home she could have jumped through and into a tea party with a room full of witnesses. Luckily for her she had jumped into an empty room. Mainly because she had popped into the house in the middle of the night.

She was right in the living room, all she had to do was put the bunny back. She crossed to the fireplace and pulled the case off of the empty pedestal and only then she did she freeze. It was her own selfishness that kept her grip on the rabbit, it was her stuffed bunny after all and she didn't want to let him go, not when there wasn't a way for her to get another one. But it also wasn't really her stuffed bunny, her bunny was back in her world and keeping this one was only making her feel bad.

She hugged Mr. Buns one last time, crushing the little bunny to her chest. Then she forced herself to put it back in it's display holder and put the glass back over the case.

With that done and few tears brimming in her eyes, she opened the portal again and headed back to the safehouse in Colombia. She got back to her room feeling better about herself and a little less guilty. She waited to see if her brothers had noticed that she was gone but they hadn't. And with that in her mind that opened up the possibilities of travelling when they were busy. There were some other things that she was researching that she really wanted to see in person. If she could get away travelling this time without them knowing then she could do it again.

It was time she starting doing good with her powers.

Rowan must have thought they were stupid. If she thought that neither he nor Conejo would notice the odd behaviour over the past week, she was definitely as dumb as she liked to pretend that she was. He knew, he knew right away that she was using her powers when she thought that they wouldn't notice. He didn't know what she was doing or where she was going, but she always acted suspicious after she did something with her powers.

Wo Fat's first assumption was that she was jumping to Hawaii. That was the only reason he could think why she wouldn't tell him or Con where she was going. It had to be something that she thought they'd get mad over. So to him, that meant she was probably meeting someone that they didn't approve of. And the only person he could think she wouldn't want to tell him she was seeing was Steve.

He told Con of his theory, that she was jumping, not that Steve was involved, and found that he had the same theory himself. So, the two waited for her to come back from her latest jump and then ambushed her with their questions.

Rowan came out of her room, which she had been locking as of late, something that had tipped them off right away that she was up to something because the girl hated locked doors of any kind, both had their hands on their hips as they glared her down. She froze in the doorway taking them both in with a face frozen in surprise.

"Uh… hi?"

"Don't you hi me!" Conejo snapped quickly. "What are you up to?"

"Up to… I just got up from a nap…"

"No you didn't, you weren't even in your room," Wo Fat interjected before she could continue to lie to him. "We can tell that something's going on, you're acting weird, you're jumping aren't you?"

He was so hoping that she wasn't but he wasn't that lucky. Rowan winced, a proper worrisome wince that told him that she was at least not going to lie to him anymore.

"You're right… I… I have been jumping," she whispered. "I just… I did something and I didn't know how to tell you… I've been trying to find the right words…"

Oh god… oh god she had gone back to Hawaii. She was jumping back and forth from Hawaii she knew Steve was single and she was going back to him. That was all he could think this could mean… but if she knew that he had lied why wasn't she more angry with him?

She took in both of their faces, clearly Conejo's was just a negative as Wo's was and she suddenly cringed like she thought they were going to attack her. "Can I at least show you what I did before the two of you freak out on me?"

"Yes, of course," Wo Fat whispered. "Do we have to jump to what ever it is you did?"

Rowan nodded and he sighed once more. "Alright my imouto why don't you show us what it is you've done that you think we'll be upset about?"

Rowan opened the portal in the doorway which meant that she knew where they were going and she knew it well. Goddamn it really was Hawaii.

Conejo grabbed onto the back of Wo Fat's jacket as Wo Fat took Rowan's hand and let her lead them through the portal she opened in the door way of her room. The place on the other side was magnificent. The place was in the middle of a sunset, six hours a head of Colombia then, painting the giant marble foyer in this red-orange light.

Above them a giant crystal chandelier hung, catching the light and sending rainbow sun spots through the room. A table sat under it covered in flyers and a single for sale sign. Dear god… had she bought a house?

"Where are we?" Conejo asked.

"Uh… the South of Spain, on the coast… we're uh… we're in Andalucía," she said. Oh my god, not only had she bought a house, but had she bought a house in the south of Spain? Damn.

"Wow… so uh…"

"It's uh… it's classified as a mansion, it's about 10 thousand square feet, not including the whole estate outside which is an extra 250 acres. It's all the original stone work, it has four floors including the basement, several secret entrances, including one down to a private dock in a cave that leads to the ocean, and a panic-safe-room. It also has a huge kitchen, a library and a ballroom… oh… and like twenty bathrooms."

Wo Fat looked around. "It's uh… nice," he caught sight of an ocean view. This giant all glass bay window that lead onto a cobblestone patio that was most likely a balcony that would lead down to the greens and then down to a beach. Instinctively he moved towards it. "And it has a nice view."

"And I own it."

Wo Fat turned around, shocked. He was expecting it, but hearing her confirm it was something different. Conejo's mouth dropped open and then stared at her in complete and utter shock having apparently not expected it at all.

"You what?"

"I bought it," she repeated. "Cash only transaction, put a fake name on the paperwork, you can look it over if you want. Got it for a steal, last owner was a smuggler and he got offed in the house… or so they say they never did find his body. Well I found it… kinda hoping you guys can deal with that. Either way no one wanted it so I got it at more than half off the market value."

"Yeah, and how much is more than half off?" Wo Fat asked, immediately concerned that she blew all their money on this, but Conejo had caught a different point in that confession.

"Screw the money right now, did you say you found a body?" Conejo asked.

"Yeah, it's in the panic room, I guess no one knew the code or something, or he couldn't get out? Not sure, either way he's in there."

Both boys exchanged looks and Rowan winced again.

"Look, I know this is a lot to take in, but you said we needed a home-base and I just wanted my own home… you know? I thought that this would be… I unno… good for us? There are more than enough rooms! Oh and mine has a walk-in closet!"

She was right, this was a lot to take in, but she had picked a good location, a good house, and she was right on them needing a home-base. Just by the view alone he could tell that this place was remote enough for Rowan to do all the void tricks she wanted, he could continue pretending to be in Victoria while they lived here. It was absolutely genius.

"You never answered the question about the payment," Wo Fat reminded her and she sighed.

"10 mil, I got it for just under 10 mil. I think it was like… 9.6 or something," she said. "I didn't use any of your money and I used barely any of mine. I used…"

"The funds from the heist," he finished for her. "I assume you had the Vault switch out the bills so they can't be traced?" Rowan nodded and he visibly relaxed, he had taught his imuoto well. He glanced back at her to where she was diligently and quietly waiting for his approval for what she had done and he sighed once more. "Okay… and have you picked out our rooms or do we get to decide?"

Rowan paused, she had had a wince on her face but at his words that wince faded into something closer to shock.

"Really? You guys aren't mad?"

"You bought a house on the coast of Spain, why the hell would we be mad?" Conejo asked. "Some heads up would have been nice but hey, I'm not gonna look a gift house in the mouth."

"The expression is horse," Wo Fat corrected but Conejo just shrugged and threw a whatever at him. He then turned his attention to Rowan. "He's right though, some heads up would have been nice, but this is a welcome surprise none-the-less, I look forward to moving in."

"Can we explore first?" Conejo asked and Wo Fat nodded as Rowan added: "Actually, can we deal with that dead body first?"

"Yes, yes, we'll deal with the body, let's get a proper tour shall we?"

Rowan clapped her hands happily scrambling back to the table to pick up all the brochures, she slapped one into each of the boys hands before starting to talk a million miles an hour about the history of the house, the modification the previous owner had put it, and how she had found all the secret entrances even though no one else had and they weren't listed in the brochures.

Wo Fat was just glad she didn't open a door to Hawaii. Well… a little happy because he hadn't seen her smile like that in days.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Roselyn got home from a long day of shopping and psychology lectures and immediately her phone started to ring. She sighed, she didn't want to talk to more people, she didn't want to have to pretend she was okay when she wasn't.

Her ex-husband was certain she was visited by a person he claims he pulled through to them from another reality. Their dead daughter. Her son was in WITSEC having apparently managed to get himself stuck working for a Russian Mob. He said he was coerced as he owed them money from gambling. She had no idea her son even had a gambling addiction in the first place and she was horrified that she missed all the signs. Not only was her son now hidden across the world from her, for his own safety of course, but the cops were no closer to finding Wick and her brother and retrieving the personal property that the two of them had stolen.

She pulled her phone out of her pocket and recognized the number calling her and the rage at her circumstances came flying out of her.

"How dare you!" she cried the second she had answered the call. There was a pause of silence on the other end but she knew that Wick wouldn't have hung up.

After a while she got: "Uh… I… Can you let me explain?"

"Explain? Explain?! How do you explain breaking into my house, knocking me unconscious and stealing the stuffed rabbit that is all I have left of my stillborn child?"

Wick paused once more. "Okay I can't," she eventually said. "Look… I didn't know he took it. I gave it back to you, remember. I meant to give it back I know what it meant to you but Con took it…"

"Why did he take it then?"

"Because… because I had one just like it. And I missed it. And Con thought I'd like to have it back…"

"You. Are. Not. My. Daughter."

It was out of her mouth before she could stop herself. She knew what this girl was getting at and she wasn't about to fall for it, not like Trevor did.

"Okay… and uh… did you get that from Trevor or Daaa… I mean Trenton?"

"Both gave me versions of the same story but I'm not stupid and I don't believe it, not one bit. You stole that rabbit because you people are cruel and mean and…"

"I said I was sorry," Wick interrupted and she tsked at her.

"Yes, so sorry. You're so sorry but I don't see you offering to give it back! No, you're still keeping it, because you're cruel and terrible and under some crazy delusion that you're my daughter when there is no possible way for you to be!"

Wick paused one more time. "I'm sorry. I am. And… I guess you haven't noticed that I already gave it back…"

Now it was Roselyn's turn to be surprised. She dropped her purse and her tote bag and rushed into her living room without bothering to take off her shoes, which was her number one rule in the living room. Or the show room as she called it. It was an interior work of art and designed for all the important people and article interviews and their accompanying photoshoots. But she didn't care about the pristineness of her favourite room, she walked right over to that mantle piece and there it was, the rabbit back where it was supposed to go.

"You really did give it back."

"I know," Wick says softly. "I'm sorry. I know you don't believe me but… it really was just because I missed my Mr. Buns. I should have returned it when he gave it to me but I just… I guess I'm just… still that selfish brat. Thank you so much for all you did to help me, I won't bother you anymore."

There was no good-bye, there was not attempt to try and convince her of who she was, she simply hung up the phone and once again Roselyn was alone.

She put the phone down to take the rabbit out of it's display case and then held it to her chest much like a child would. She inhaled deeply and got a whiff of Lavender and Vanilla two of her favourite smells and for some reason she started to cry and couldn't for the life of her get herself to stop for a long time after that.

H5O-H5O-H5O-H5O

Steve had come up with the idea after Sandy activated herself in their latest shoot out, hijacking a crane and sending the man attempting to climb it to escape flying off of the pier and into the ocean. The app had to be operating from somewhere, and if it wasn't Rowan who was controlling it then it had to be Wo Fat. Yes, it wasn't tracking Rowan anymore but the commands had to be coming from somewhere and he might be able to get someone to hack in and figure out where the app commands were coming from.

And it didn't matter who was operating it, because Wo Fat was with Rowan so if he found one he would have found the other. But because the Governor was watching he was keeping up with the whole: I'm doing this to find and arrest Wo Fat lie.

The problem was he knew he couldn't go to Kong with this. That meant he was going to have to get someone to hack into Sanctuary and he only knew one person who could possibly do that for him.

He had given Toast the assignment a week ago and Danny's hacker-extraordinaire had not gotten back to him, until that morning that is. Steve immediately went to his place, already excited. This was the closest he felt he had managed to come to finding Rowan since he had lost year almost a year ago. He felt like he might be so close he could feel her arms around him, could taste her lips on his.

"McGruff!" Toast called the second Steve got to the door. "You gave me one hell of an assignment, my man!"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah! Couldn't outright breach her security, but I realized that the best viruses always attack from within," he said heading towards his computer room where he had a laptop waiting for them. Steve followed silently behind him. "There were some disturbing warnings that popped up while I was working but once I was in, I managed to wiggle my way in through her code and locate a few of the commands."

Steve watched Toast take his place in front of the laptop, hope soaring up into his throat. This was it, he could finally get a location on Rowan. He leant in to look at the screen, but it just looked like the default Sanctuary screen, except it had postings for jobs with prices beside them… like a bulletin board of sorts.

"Yeah and where are they coming from?" he asked and it was the worst mistake he ever made.

I have detected Captain America's voice print in the vicinity. Analyzing situation.

Everything on the computer screen froze and Toast moved his hands away as if he were surrendering to the disembodied voice of Sanctuary.

"What is it doing?" Steve whispered.

"I don't know," Toast whispered back.

Captain America is confirmed to be in the Vicinity. It is clear that Operator Toast has activated his profile in order to give information to Captain America. I have detected holes in my security software, which I'm afraid is a security breach. Taking actions to patch software.

That red spinning wheel appeared on the screen as Sanctuary loaded whatever she had to load and the two of them held their breath.

Software unable to patch. Operator Toast has broken Sanctuary's code of conduct and as such has forfeited his right to access this utility until further notice. Activating the Captain America Contingency plan at level Orange to minimize damage and remove software from all near-by technology. Have a nice day.

And then everything electronic in the vicinity went down. The laptop he had been running Sanctuary on, all of Toast's monitors, his computer towers, his phone's and Steven's, they all died. They stood in the deafening silence, the room had originally been filled with the hum of technology and that was all gone now.

"Well damn… I mean… I know there was a disclaimer about talking to cops let alone Five-0 but this is some next level warfare."

Steve blinked his eyes. "I'm sorry… what?"

"Well as I said I couldn't quite hack in until I opened up an account per say and when I did that I had to agree to a disclaimer… that No law enforcement be allowed to access the app, especially Steven McGarrett of Five-0… and all of Five-0. It warned of dire consequences but I didn't think it'd sent out an EMP to destroy everything… damn I think she even got my microwave! I better check the fridge."

Steve stared at the blank and empty screens around him, bitter disappointment climbing up his throat. This couldn't be where it ended, it just couldn't be. "Toast… did you remember any of the locations where the commands were coming through?"

Toast paused. He thought long and hard and said: "Yeah, Canada, Colombia and Spain," he said. "But like… all within days of one another, one within house so I doubt they're coming from her cause like… how is she travelling all those places so quickly, right?"

Steve sighed, he was right, it was impossible. Sandy must have been programmed to bounce the signal off of different cell towers to show different locations. He wasn't going to be able to find Rowan that way either.

He thanked Toast for his time, apologized for the wiping of his computers, said he's float him a check for the work and the reimbursement and then Steve headed to the mall, only because he'd need a new phone, or for someone at the apple store to fix his if possible. Except, just his luck it wasn't, and he had to buy a new phone.

By the time that Steve got home and got his new phone up and running and all his settings set up again he found he had a very angry message from Kong. Turned out his little stunt had shut down the whole app.

Once again, Steve was amazed by just how far Wo Fat was willing to go to protect Rowan from everything… but especially from Steve. And not for the first time either, he wondered why that was.

Hello my wonderful readers! So, I have some upcoming updates, not really spoilers just milestones and updates.

So, I know I said I was going to try and get us out of season 6 before 275, but that is clearly not going to happen. I expect to have us out of season 6 by the 300th chapter, and Steve and Rowan back together some time after that, like around 305th chapter. Now, I know that's later than expected, but let me try and explain it.

Rowan and Steve are going to get back together in what I call the "Summer Chapters" which are the chapters between the end of season 6 and the start of season 7. The problem is, part of season 7 is Steve and Danny still in the hospital after the events of the season 6 finale. So, I have part of the season 7 episode 1 AND the 2nd episode happening during the "Summer Chapters" so technically Season 7 will have started, but I have those things happening, technically before the date the first episode aired.

So, unless my chapters end up having to be split up, I should be completing everything for season 6 by the 300th chapter and Steve and Rowan will be back together at least 5 chapters after that… hopefully, it might be longer, but I'm think it won't be. So just hold on. I promise to get us out of this part as soon as possible, okay?!
