The first round of the Final Exam had begun and it was Eijirou, Rikidou, Tetsutetsu, and Togaru against Cementoss.
"So what do you think, fight or flee? We'd probably get more points if we capture him." Tetsutetsu voiced his opinion. "Personally, I think the manlier option is to capture him!"
"He can't move very fast. In fact, he has to stay still to use his Quirk." Eijirou noted.
"Yeah, but at the same time, he can make concrete walls all day, while we're saddled with a time limit." Rikidou pointed out. "Sure, we can smash through his concrete walls, but..."
"How about this then?" Togaru suggested. "Tetsutetsu and I rush him from the ground while you guys sneak up from above to get him!"
Eijirou nodded. "That might work! The buildings here are made from steel and rebar, not concrete, so he can't affect them."
"Alright, let's do this thing!" Tetsutetsu shouted as he coated his body in steel while Togaru unsheathed blades from his forearms with his Quirk,[Razor Sharp].
The two 1-B students started smashing and slashing their way through the concrete walls while Rikidou consumed some of his sugar packs, quickly climbing up the nearest buildings with Eijirou following close behind.
Cementoss was making more walls to box in what he thought were four students, so he was taken by surprise when Rikidou and Eijirou dropped down on him. In his buffed state, Rikidou pulled off a Fastball Special, hurling Eijirou straight at their teacher as the redhead hardened his body and tackled the Cement Hero to the ground, making sure to slap the cuffs on him afterward.
"Nice work. You made sure to prevent the fight from being drawn out to avoid overextending your limits. And you made sure to keep my attention on one point while attacking from another."
DEVIL
The second match was Tsuyu, Fumikage, Ibara, and Sen against Ectoplasm. Already the four students were making a heck of a team, dispatching Ectoplasm's various clones with relative ease.
Thanks to his training with Sengoku, Fumikage had learned how to switch between using Dark Shadow and personal hand-to-hand combat. Tsuyu had also been getting some lessons from Mipha in usingFishman Karate.
Ibara and Sen showed their unity by having the former wrap her vines around the latter and moving him around swiftly as he used his Quirk,[Gyrate], to turn his arms into piercing drills that punched through Ectoplasm's clones.
Soon the team had made it to the goal where the real Ectoplasm was waiting. Seeing how close they were, the Clone Hero pulled out his trump card.
"GIANT BITE DETENTION!"
Upchucking a massive amount of ectoplasm, he created a giant version of himself that while strong would prevent him from creating more clones for a while. However, Fumikage pulled out one last trick; he coated Dark Shadow inArmament Haki.
Ectoplasm was shocked to see Fumikage and his sentient Quirk destroy his giant clone, only to quickly be put on the defensive due to Sen rushing him aggressively. This caused Ectoplasm to mentally sigh and shake his head. However, this distraction would be a mistake as a second later there was a 'click' causing the teacher to look down and see the cuffs around his prosthetic legs along with Tsuyu's tongue and Ibara's vines working together.
With a sigh, Ectoplasm nodded his head as he congratulated the students on their victory.
DEVIL
The third round was Tenya, Oujiro, Nimona, and Pony against Power Loader. The Excavation Hero was using his Quirk,[Iron Claws], to dig under the dirt zone, creating pitfalls to limit the team's mobility.
"Given the odds, it might be better to run for help," Tenya said.
"But that might be a problem, given who knows how many pitfalls are nearby." Oujiro pointed out.
"I can sniff out any pitfalls that might be nearby!" Nimona said as she turned into a red-furred bloodhound and sniffed close to the ground. "Maybe we can surprise him with a direct assault!"
"Yeah! We'll catch Power Loader off-guard!" Pony said, her Japanese greatly improved.
Nimona grinned and ran across with Pony following close behind, running on all fours. Oujiro jumped on Tenya's back as he used hisRecipro Bursttechnique. As the team anticipated, Power Loader emerged from the ground right in front of them.
Quickly turning around, Tenya hit the afterburners on his engines, blinding Power Loader with the exhaust as Nimona transformed into a hippo and belly-flopped on top of the teacher.
"Impressive, you took the risk of a head-on fight when it was the only option open. And you made sure no one got injured. That was great work." Power Loader wheezed. "Now, Nimona...GET OFF!"
DEVIL
The fourth round was Shoto, Momo, Kinoko, and Reiko against Aizawa. Momo was rubbing her belly thoughtfully as Shoto laid out the plan for her and the two 1-B girls.
"Alright here's the plan; Yaoyorozu will create a variety of small objects with her Quirk for as long as you can. The same will go to Komori with her mushrooms and Yanagi will levitate what they create. When you can no longer use your Quirks we'll know Aizawa-Sensei's here. At that point, you make a break for it towards the exit while I keep him distracted."
The three nodded, Momo popping Russian nesting dolls from her body and Kinoko leaving mushrooms sprouting all around the area as they ran along the backstreets, Reiko levitating what the other two girls created. As they walked through the area, Momo was still thinking to herself.
"Something wrong-shroom?" Kinoko asked.
"I'm still thinking back to my time with Lady Tsuru. She said she wanted to help me improve my self-confidence." Momo explained.
"Lucky." Reiko said as she eavesdropped, before realizing Momo WASN'T saying that with pride in her voice.
"And what brought this on-shroom?" Kinoko asked.
"Momo sighed before she explained:
"I got into UA through recommendation. That means I must be better, yes? But ever since I've come here, I haven't found any significant battle or show off how useful my quirk can be…"
"Sports Fest says otherwise." Reiko added.
"And now there's…THIS!" Momo pointed to her form, tears stinging her eyes. "At least before, as uncomfortable as I may have been, I knew I would at least be remembered for being poise and proper. Now…?"
Tears started to break.
"I HAVE to be better. I have to be…! Or else I don't, no, I shouldn't be…!"
She was cut off by Kinoko hugging her, sinking into her form and nuzzling in. Reiko fought back for a second before joining in.
"U-um…girls?" Momo asked.
"You're going to make so many girls realize its okay to NOT be supermodels-shroom." Kinoko managed. "And you'll be great with civilians; you're kind, warm…soothing…"
"And in case you forgot, we're in school." Reiko added. "We're still kids, after all. And from what Kendo tells me, you've PROVEN why you're here; you're top in all subjects, you're Vice President…And you're humble about it all. But…taking a page from Setsuna here? Take a little pride and embrace being you."
Momo was still crying, but now also smiling as she then returned the hug; a sight that would made many coo in adoration (and in Makoto's case, some jealousy), including Shoto, who blushed with a smile on his face….only to suddenly feel something off.
"Wait...is anyone's Quirk still active?
Shocked, everyone looked around to see Aizawa drop down and go after Shoto who quickly shouted for Momo, Kinoko, and Reiko to go before attacking.
Deciding it was safer to split up, the girls all took off in different directions. Momo huffed and puffed as her larger mass made running much slower. Suddenly she caught sight of Aizawa coming in quickly making Momo gasp at the implications as his capture tape wrapped around her arm.
As she was being pulled back she realized she still had her Quirk. She quickly created a large weight that fell off her arm taking the capture tape with it as she ran in a completely different direction.
Momo soon bumped into Kinoko, who accidentally bounced off her belly and landed on her butt. The smaller girl blushed apologetically as Momo bent down as best she could to help her up.
"Reiko is untying Todoroki! Let's meet up with them!"
Momo sighed."Todoroki...I had a feeling Aizawa-Sensei would see through your plan. But luckily, I have a Plan B in mind..."
The four managed to regroup together but they knew Aizawa was hot on their trail. Reiko then cut a moving figure out of the corner of her eye.
"Make haste, my fiendish allies! The shadow is cast above us!"
"It seems he realized we doubled back," Momo smirked. "Good, that leaves him wide open! Everyone close your eyes!"
She threw the nesting dolls she had created into the air as Aizawa leaped at them. He knocked one away, only to open it up and reveal flashbang grenades inside, causing a chain explosion of blinding light that left the Erasure Hero open.
This gave the four the chance to make a break for it and plan out how to capture Aizawa. Momo used her Quirk and her massive fat reserves to create a catapult and cloth based on a basic idea of Aizawa's capture tape.
"If anything goes wrong, I shall provide aid." Reiko said.
"And I'll see if I can cover him in mushrooms!" Kinoko added.
Aizawa had managed to track where the students were and saw two figures running off in black cloaks, completely covered. He moved to capture them both, only to find out they were mannequins Momo had created that Reiko was manipulating with her Quirk,[Poltergeist].
Momo fired the faux-capture tape she created from the catapult. Aizawa jumped back, only for his own binding technique to work against him. Shoto had been tied up under the second cloak, but that meant his Quirk couldn't be erased, letting him launch his fire at full force. However, Aizawa realized that the flames weren't aimed at him but the scarf.
"This scarf is made of nitinol alloy It's a special memory alloy that will return to its normal shape when exposed to heat!" Momo explained as her teacher was tied up and captured, letting Kinoko slap the cuffs on him.
Aizawa was silent for a moment before giving a proud grin.
"Well done, you all pass."
DEVIL
The fifth round was Ochako, Yuuga, Bondo, and Rin against Thirteen and already they were faced with a ton of problems...mainly in regard to the sheer power of[Black Hole], which made Yuuga, Bondo, and Rin's Quirks useless.
The four were just barely holding on to a railing in the arena zone. They had almost reached the gate, only for Thirteen to catch them in her Quirk's reach.
"I'm not one to make puns...but Thirteen's Quirk SUCKS!" Rin cursed.
"Oui! But in a good way in general!" Yuuga added. "Just not for us!"
"What would Deku do...?" Ochako wondered, which caught the attention of her teammates.
"Hey, Madame Uraraka..." Yuuga spoke up, a sly grin on his face. "About Midoriya, correct? Perhaps... You have a crush on him?"
Bondo blushed. "Uh...I thought everyone knew that already?"
However, the large boy's blush paled in comparison to Ochako's, who absentmindedly put her hands to her cheeks, causing her to get pulled toward Thirteen.
"Gah!" Thirteen gasped, quickly closing her finger caps.
Once Ochako saw Thirteen turn off her Quirk out of instinct, she realized what Yuuga's plan was, and immediately went to work. Using the same combat tactics that Bang, Tanktop Master, and Watchdog Man had taught her, Ochako quickly had Thirteen swept to the ground in an effective pin.
"Merci! Victory is ours!"
Yuuga, Rin, and Bondo got to work, the former flying with lasers from his feet as he caught Thirteen's free arm, Bondo spraying concentrated splashes of glue on her finger caps with his Quirk,[Cemedine]while Rin formed scales over his arm and aimed his arm at the Space Hero.
"Stay down, Thirteen-Sensei. This is our win!"
Thirteen sighed. "It would normally count against using the fact that this is a simulation, but we can still count this as taking advantage of a known weakness."
DEVIL
The sixth round was Denki, Mina, Kuroiro, and Setsuna against Nedzu and the four were running around as Nedzu used a construction crane to block all but one of the exits.
"A most dastardly trap. We need to find a way to outsmart the Rat God at his own game." Kuroiro noted.
Setsuna frowned before detaching the top half of her head, floating it up to see where Nedzu's crane was located before relaying the information to her teammates.
"Kaminari! Ashido! You take Kuroiro and take to the high ground and try to see if you can approach him! I'll try and keep him focused on me!"
Setsuna then split up more of her body parts as Denki charged up electricity and rocketed himself into the air while Mina focused her acid to shoot out of her feet in jets, propelling her after the electric boy as Kuroiro used whatever patches of shadow and black-colored objects were available to scale after them.
Soon, they reached Nedzu in his control box, catching him by surprise as Kuroiro threw the door open while Denki used his electricity to short-circuit the crane controls.
"Oh dear, it appears I've been caught," Nedzu said but he had a proud smile on his face as Mina cuffed him.
DEVIL
The seventh round was Kyouka, Kouji, Jurota, and Manga against Present Mic. The team figured that a direct confrontation would do no good so they made their way for the escape gate, only for a powerful scream from the Voice Hero to rip through the forest, causing Jurota to howl in pain as he clutched his ears.
"Travesty! My enhanced hearing is used against me!" The beastly boy cursed.
"Kouda! can't you send some of the local animals to interrupt Present Mic? Like maybe some birds or something?" Kyouka called out.
Kouji shook his head and used sign language to explain that there would obviously be no animals in the area after the loud blast of noise Present Mic just let out. More sound blasts surged in their location as the team shielded their ears as best they could.
"He's like a high-powered death amp!" Kyouka realized "If we don't do something we're never gonna pass this exam! Or at least go deaf!"
Another thing grating on Kyouka was that the soundwaves were reverberating through her newfound blubbery bulk, making it tickle in a way she didn't want to admit was enjoyable.
Manga then noticed an ant sitting on a rock and a lightbulb appeared on his speech bubble head as he got an idea before waving to Kouji and pointing to the ant.
The rock-headed boy gulped nervously. It was a known fact he was scared of bugs but his internship with Melony had helped him find the groundwork to start overcoming that fear, though it was still slow going at the moment.
"COME ON OUT!"Present Mic called out, his Quirk echoing through the area.
"I'll try and drown him out!" Kyouka said, placing her jacks in the speakers on her gloves. Her rapid heartbeat created a counter-wave that canceled out the attack.
"Sir Kouda! Now is the time! Unleash the true majesty of the insect kingdom!" Jurota called out.
Kouji nodded and steeled himself as Jurota lifted up a huge rock to reveal a large mass of bugs, crouching down to command the insects.
"Now's the time, tiny ones! Hear my call and burrow toward the loud monster who's been scaring everyone!"
"YOU CAN TALK?!" Kyouka gawked.
Not realizing what Kouji was doing, Present Mic was confused when he saw the ground start coming up near him. He completely freaked out when the large amount of invertebrates started crawling up his leg.
"You gotta be kidding me! They sent bugs underground to attack me where sound doesn't travel!? This is why I hate the outdoors!"
A loud shriek echoed through the forest as the team arrived to see Present Mic unconscious on the ground, foam coming out of his mouth. Wincing in sympathy, they carried him with them through the escape gate.
DEVIL
The eighth round was Shouji, Tooru, Shouda, and Hitoshi against Snipe. The loud gunshots from the Gunslinger Hero made it impossible for Hitoshi to get a lock on him to try and call out to use his Quirk.
"If this keeps up we won't be able to reach the goal!" Tooru said.
A smoke grenade was rolled out as the team moved out from behind cover. Shouda then repeated the impacts Snipe's bullets made to mask their escape using his Quirk,[Twin Impact].
"This might be our chance. Snipe's Quirk might be able to track us, but he still can't see Hagakure if she goes invisible. We'll try and keep him here." Shouji said.
"Might be the only shot we have..." Hitoshi grumbled.
"We'll cover you, Hagakure!" Shouda said as Tooru nodded before turning invisible.
The boys kept themselves conspicuous and well within Snipe's sight. Snipe, not knowing what they were planning, scoffed.
"If you're trying to run for the exit, you're doing a sloppy job of it."
"Wait! We surrender!" Shouda said, holding his arms up.
"Yeah, you've caught us red-handed," Hitoshi smirked, hoping to lure Snipe into a trap.
However, the Gunslinger Hero was wise to Hitoshi's Quirk and wagged his finger without saying anything. However, he noticed that Tooru wasn't with them and before he could react, he felt the cuffs slap onto him.
"What the...?"
He moved and found his elbow accidentally hit Tooru's chest.
"SNIPE-SENSEI, YOU PERVERT!"
The boys couldn't help but laugh at how flustered Snipe got as he tried to explain himself.
"No! NO! I wasn't…! I respect women! Besides you're a student!"
DEVIL
The ninth round was Minoru, Sero, Awase, and Tsuburaba against Midnight. Minoru was panicking as he tried to find where Midnight was while Sero used his tape to give his team makeshift gas masks to escape her Quirk's effects.
"Oh man, she's gonna sit on us and even though it'll be a comfortable embrace, it'll spell certain death for us!"
Tsuburaba blushed. "Well, I gotta admit, she looks even better with all that blubber on her."
"Do you WANT Torekuroshi to kill you?" Awase pointed out. "You know how protective of his mom he gets."
"We've either got to trap her away from the gate, or try and capture her ourselves. That's the only way we're getting out of this." Sero said.
Suddenly, heavy footsteps were heard as the boys tensed and looked around. Minoru's eyes then laid on a giant fat shadow looming over Sero and screamed out a warning.
"SERO, LOOK OUT!"
Sero managed to hear the warning just in time as he jumped out of the way, Awase using his Quirk,[Weld], to make sure the tape masks stuck to the boys' faces.
Seeing that her Quirk wasn't going to work, Midnight prepared to use her whip, only for Tsuburaba to hold his hands over each other in a spherical motion and blow with his Quirk,[Solid Air], to create a solidified air ball, tripping her up and causing her to fall where a bunch of Minoru's hairballs were waiting, trapping her.
"I learned something important during the USJ incident. People don't become heroes to be cool. They become heroes because they're cool!"Minoru thought to himself."And I'm gonna become just as cool as Midoriya and the rest of his crew!"
"You boys really know how to give a girl a wild time~" Midnight chuckled. "Especially a big fat juicy hunk of meat like me~"
"Midnight-Sensei, please! You're making everybody uncomfortable!" Awase begged with a blush.
DEVIL
The tenth round was Carrot, Ellie, Juuzo, and Yui against Vlad King. The Blood Hero was currently waiting patiently to see what the team had come up with. Curious to see if they could get along long enough to pass, he was taken out of his thoughts when Carrot appeared and readied anElectro-charged punch, only for Vlad King to create a shield of blood to defend against it.
However, Carrot wasn't alone as Vlad King had to jump away from an explosion at the ground fired from a rocket launcher Ellie made from gravel and rebar that lobbed boulders armed with electricity from Carrot'sElectro. Unfortunately, Yui was waiting for him and without hesitation, threw some pebbles that she made grow into boulders.
Even with a blood shield, the force was enough to blow Vlad King back to the ground as he prepared himself for the impact. Which is why he was surprised when instead of hitting the ground, he melted through it and landed in the sewer.
"Gotcha, Sensei!"
He looked up to see Juuzo though he was confused by what his student meant. Noticing the look the skeletal-faced boy merely pointed towards the blood user's leg, causing Vlad King to be shocked when he saw he was cuffed.
"Well, looks like you kids pass."
DEVIL
The eleventh round was Yamato, Uta, Vivi, and Inasa against Endeavor and the Flame Hero was not going easy on them. Vivi was doing everything she could to keep up a large wave of water which Yamato chilled while transforming into his Inukami Form as Uta sang to the tune of a fast-moving song that only she could hear, creating a musical sound barrier to protect her allies.
For one student in particular, this test was especially personal. As has already been noted, years ago, Inasa had been a fan of Endeavour, admiring him for his strength and willingness to act, until he coldly brushed him off when he was a child just for asking for an autograph.
The interaction had soured Inasa's perception of the man and the state of heroism in general to such a degree that, if not for meeting Ben (and by extension, the Crew) he would've gone to Shinketsu the second he learnt Endeavour's son was at UA. And he could've easily done so; being a UA recommended student was a fast pass to many other hero schools!
But now he saw that Endeavor's eyes are different; they were still determined and strong. And yeah, he'd NEVER win most beloved Pro…but he was tryinbg to be better.
And that was what UA was all about: Being better.
"VIVI! YAMATO!" Inasa suddenly called out, alerting his teammates with some help from Uta, whose singing bought Inasa enough time to unleash a powerful wind attack that sent Endeavor skitting back.
The Pro was focused on standing for a split second too much, which allowed Vivi to catch Endeavor in sinking sand and…
"RAIMEI HAKEI!"
Yamato swung his club into the hero's head, knocking him to the ground…a smile on his face.
"Good job, team!" Uta smiled, giving a shaky thumbs-up as she rubbed her sore throat.
DEVIL
The twelfth and final round was Koby, N, Itsuka, and Seryu against All-Might and it was clear to see they all were nervous...especially when they saw the Symbol of Peace's strength firsthand.
"All that and he's STILL holding back?!" Itsuka mused; she'd landed a few blows and the Pro had tanked them before sending her flying, if not for Koby catching her. She was still standing, but dazed and had coughed up a bit.
And indeed, All Might was wearing suppression cuffs…not that they did much.
"Well, he is the #1 for a reason, I guess." N sighed between gasps for air; racking his brain for a power that could help that he hadn't used already. All Might had torn through vines, punched ice into bits, evaded flames and RAN ON WATER. The closest to a blow N had landed where the pyshic attacks, but even those did little, as All Might revealed what many had assumed, but never seen:
He had Conqueror's Haki. Advanced Conqueror's to be precise.
Seyru was petting Koro, a smile on her face.
"I hate to say this, but…maybe we should try and run?"
She really DID hate saying that. She was going to be a hero; an agent of justice! And no proper hero would ever let a villain run rampant…unless it was to bring help.
"That might be best." Koby admitted, surprising his team. "And yeah, we will probably have to at some point. But there's still one tactic we haven't tried; We've all tried the sacrifice or buying time ways….Now lets try the teamwork way."
Seyru beamed, her confidence returning to her: How could she have forgotten?! Yes, it made sense to delay the villain, but no Hero was an island, not even All Might.
N smiled, proud of his classmate, as did Itsuka, who quickly drew something in the dirt….
"AH! THERE YOU ARE!" All Might said as he fell from the sky, reading a Smash the kids barely avoided.
"KORO! PHASE SEVEN!" Seyru called out as her dog bit down on her arm. "N!"
The boy nodded and leapt at her side, a ball of energy growing from his open mouth as his teammate leveled her new limb at the target.
"HYPER-BEAM CANNON OF JUSTICE!" Seyru and N called out together as N fired a beam of energy from his mouth and Seyru's arm became a canon that joined the beam in racing forward, towards their classmates…who just leapt and linked arms as the blow sent them flying forward and they coated their free fists with Haki
"HONESTY IMPACT!" Koby and Itsuka followed in suit and their combined strength and the blast did what was to them, the highlight of their lives:
They pushed All Might back. A good few feet. Which gave them enough time to blitz to the exit just as the timer went off and the Pro himself appeared in front of them, no worse the wear.
"Impressive. It wouldn't have done much with me going all out but these heights make me a bit weaker."All-Might chuckled."You kids have passed!"
DEVIL
"We all passed!" Ochako, Mina, Denki, Eijirou, Sero, and Tooru shouted as everyone else cheered.
"I'm happy some of us were able to capture our opponents, though most of those were sneak attacks," Momo said a little sheepishly at the continuous use of the same tactic.
"Ah, who cares?! The only thing that matters is we passed!" Nimona cheered.
"Indeed! I'm so proud to be part of this exceptional class!" Tenya shouted in tears soon joined by Jurota, Ibara, and Eijirou.
"Well kiddies, it's time for the second half of the tests to begin." Recovery Girl smirked.
Sure enough, Izuku and his crew had already set off to perform their own tests for the Final Exams. The students of 1-A and 1-B decided to relax and sit down, watching with anticipation at what crazy tricks the crew would pull to come out on top.
