Chapter 7: Alistair Krei

After the triplets' presentations were finished, Tadashi and the group cheered as they rushed over to the podium through the cheering crowd. "Those are my nephews and niece! I love my family!" Cass cheered. The triplets group-hugged before doing their 4-way fist bump with Tadashi. Even the group congratulated the triplets. "You did it!" Honey Lemon cheered as she hugged the triplets. "Not bad. Great job, guys." Gogo said. "You 3 just blew my mind!" Fred cheered. "Incroyable! That was just incroyable!" Proud Dagger cheered. "They loved you. That was amazing!" Honey Lemon said excitedly.

"Yes." A voice said. The group turned to see the man and his woman friend walk up to them. "With some development, your tech could be revolutionary." The man said. "Alistair Krei!" Hiro said, recognizing the man as Alistair Krei. And the woman with him was his assistant. "The founder and CEO of Krei Tech." Genji added. "And the wealthiest man in the city." Kaiya added. "May I?" Krei asked. The triplets handed Krei their inventions for him to examine. "Extraordinary. I want your microbots at Krei Tech." Krei offered. "Shut up." Hiro said in shock. "And, young Genji, I believe your web catchers could be a big service for the San Fransokyo Police Department. One of the officers happens to be an old friend of mine. I believe I can make an offer." Krei said. "Amazing." Genji said in awe. "And, Miss Kaiya, I happen to know a fashion agent who would be honored to have you and your device." Krei said. Kaiya covered her mouth in shock and awe.

"Mr. Krei is right. Your microbots, web catchers and Holo-Style are inspired pieces of tech. Especially, your microbots, Hiro." Callaghan said as he walked up. "You can continue to develop them, or you can sell them to a man who's only guided by his self-interests." He said, getting slightly hostile towards Krei. "Robert, I know how you feel about me, but it shouldn't effect-" Krei tried to say. "This is your decision, children. But you should know that Mr. Krei has cut corners and ignored sound science to get where he is." Callaghan said. "That is not true." Krei tried to assure. "I wouldn't trust Krei Tech with your microbots or anything else. Especially with empty promises to Kaiya." Callaghan said, making Kaiya feel uncomfortable. "Hiro, I'm offering you more money than any 14-year-old could imagine. Genji, you be making the city a better place. And Kaiya, you'd be famous, making your family's name known, not just in San Fransokyo, but throughout the entire world." Krei said. Hiro, Genji and Kaiya thought a while about this offer and immediately made their decision. "We appreciate the offers, Mr. Krei, but they're not for sale." Hiro said. "I thought you were smarter than that." Krei said. "We are smarter than that." Genji said. "And we always choose family over fame and wealth anytime and any day." Kaiya said. Krei gave a disappointed sigh. "Very well then." He said before he and his assistant started to leave. "Mr. Krei?" Tadashi called, stopping them. "Those are my siblings'." He said, noticing that Krei still had the triplets' inventions. "Oh. That's right." Krei said, tossing the triplets' inventions back to them before leaving with his assistant. "I look forward to seeing you 3 in class." Callaghan said, giving the triplets each a letter of recommendation to enroll at SFIT.

Everyone cheered as they exited the building. "Alright, geniuses, let's feed those hungry brains. Back to the café! Dinner is on me!" Cass announced, making the group cheer. "Yes! Nothing is better than free food! Unless it's moldy." Fred said as the group headed for the parking lot. "Aunt Cass? We'll catch up, okay?" Tadashi said. "Sure. I'm so proud of you!" Cass exclaimed, hugging the triplets before bringing Tadashi into the mix. "All of you!" "Thanks, Aunt Cass." Tadashi and the triplets said as Cass released them before following the group. "See you back at the café." Akela said, pecking Tadashi's cheek before following the others. As they left, Tadashi motioned the triplets to follow him.

They arrived at a small bridge and gazed up at the main SFIT building. "We know what you're going to say. 'We should be proud of ourselves because we're finally using our gifts for something important'." Hiro said, imitating Tadashi. Genji and Kaiya laughed at that. "No, no. I was just gonna tell you your fly was down for the whole show." Tadashi said. "Ha-ha. Hilarious." Hiro said, thinking it was a joke. "Uh, Hiro?" Genji said. "Your fly really is down." Kaiya said. Hiro looked down and saw that it was. "What?!" He exclaimed, zipping up his fly before hitting Tadashi's arm, making him chuckle. Then they just relaxed as they gazed up at the school. "Welcome to nerd school…nerds." Tadashi said. "Hey, we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you." Hiro said. "Yeah. Thanks for not giving up on us." Genji said. "And hopefully, we'll always be together." Kaiya said.

Well, how was that? Hiro, Genji and Kaiya have impressed Callaghan enough to earn full letters of recommendations to join SFIT. But their showcases also attracted the attention of Alister Krei, the wealthiest business owner in the entire city. He wanted the microbots for his company, the web catchers for the police, and the Holo-Style for a full fashion career. But with Callaghan's somewhat disturbing words, the triplets refused Krei's offer. And as their friends follow Cass back to the café, the triplets talk with Tadashi on the bridge. But what'll happen next? Will the triplets and Tadashi always be together? Will this Krei guy give up so easy? Leave a review if you'd like.
