Chapter 8: Fire Accident and Funeral
Suddenly, an alarm went off. Tadashi and the triplets rushed over to see that the showcase building had somehow caught fire. "The building's on fire!" Genji said in shock. "But how?" Kaiya asked. "Are you okay?" Tadashi asked as he helped a woman. "Yeah, I'm okay. But Professor Callaghan is still in there." The woman said before running off. Tadashi, knowing he had to help, ran towards the building. But the Hamada Triplets stopped him. "Tadashi, no!" Hiro cried. "That fire's way too out of control! If you go in, you might never come back out!" Genji exclaimed. "Please, Tadashi! Don't leave us!" Kaiya cried. Tadashi looked at his younger siblings before looking back at the burning building. "Callaghan's in there. Someone has to help." Tadashi said, pulling away from his siblings and running into the building. His hat flew off before he entered. Hiro picked it up and became more worried. But then, before he could decide to walk in, the fire inside caused an explosion, blowing the Hamada Triplets back. As they recovered, they saw that the fire had destroyed everything inside…including Callaghan and Tadashi. "Tadashi! Tadashi!" Hiro cried.
Later, everyone started laying out candles and flowers on the steps of the campus, paying their respects for their fallen family members. Later, out in the rain, a funeral was held for Callaghan and Tadashi. After the funeral, everyone went to the Hamada house to pay their respects to Cass for her fallen nephew. The gang comforted Cass and Akela for their loss. Even Mochi, Kash and Tray were saddened by Tadashi's death. Hiro, Genji and Kaiya sat at the top of the stairs, sulking at the loss of their big brother before heading back to their shared room.
Later, after the gang and everyone else left, Akela and Cass spoke privately in the kitchen. "Cass, after they cleared the fire, the fire department managed to find this." Akela said, bringing out Tadashi's crystal, having somehow survived the fire. Cass took it and stared at it. "Do you think…?" She started to ask. Akela nodded. "But Hiro, Genji and Kaiya don't know about the crystal's special powers. And…I don't think they're ready to know just yet." Cass said. "I know. But I think it's best to give the crystal to Hiro. It's what Tadashi would want." Akela said, sadly, still in grief at the loss of his lover. "You're right. And hopefully, they can find a way to free Tadashi." Cass said, staring at the crystal with hope.
Poor kids. Tadashi and Callaghan were seemingly killed in a fire accident. Everyone was so upset and saddened at the loss of 2 great men. Hiro, Genji and Kaiya were especially upset for the loss of their older brother. But strangely, Akela gave Cass Tadashi's crystal, which somehow survived in the fire.
