Happily Ever After?

Chapter 1
Today was the big day! Glinda was having a freak out and Elphaba was doing her best to calm her down. It had been almost a year from the death of Ugabu and Munchkinland was in good hands. Councilman Arif had returned to the Emerald City just in time for the wedding of Glinda and Lieutenant Bayram.
The new leaders of Munchkinland would work as a team to ensure that the entirety of the country was heard. The head of this new board was elected as an official but would rely on the council and votes of the others on the board. Unsurprisingly, Boq's father, Bfee, fit right into that role. Everyone knew that he would listen and carefully decide before jumping in with both feet.
Boq had agreed to have Elphaba try the spell that Fiyero's mother, Queen Ayla, had found. The green woman had attempted it prior to Bfee arriving in the Emerald City as Boq did not want to greet his father as the Tin Man. The spell had worked and the Munchkin was now a Munchkin again. Though it was not without consequence. Boq's muscles had atrophied and he basically collapsed into a pile on the floor. Doctor Talib was called and he and his staff worked to get Boq back into normal Munchkin shape.
Needless to say, that Boq had a lot of explaining to do when his father arrived to find his son in the infirmary at the Emerald Palace. Now Boq was running around helping Lieutenant Bayram get ready for his wedding. Elphaba wondered if they were having better luck than she was.
"I don't like how my makeup looks," Glinda whined. She and Elphaba were in the blonde's room, trying to get her ready.
"We've already done your makeup three times. I swear on everything holy if you wipe it off again, I'll make sure the makeup is permanent," the green woman gave her a look.
"It's supposed to be my day," Glinda pointed out as she turned in the chair at the small desk. This desk was usually where the blonde did her makeup and got ready for the day.
"Yes, it is but you're being irrational. You love Bayram so it's not that. The thing with Munchkinland is well resolved, so it's not that. What is up?" Elphaba asked, taking a seat on her friend's bed. She knew that she was the only one who could talk to the leader of Oz that way.
"All of Oz is watching," Glinda said.
"How is that different from any other day?" Elphaba was confused.
"They're going to judge everything I do or Bayram does. Compare it to past Royal Weddings," Glinda sighed.
"They already do all of that now. What you need to do is to put it out of your head. It is your day, so focus on what you can control. You're going to look amazing in your dress. You're going to enjoy the after-party. The good people of Oz had a day off to celebrate with you. Do you have your vows ready?" The green woman asked.
"Yes, I do," Glinda nodded.
"Good. Now, I'm going to find Rachel and the other ladies from the dress shop. We're going to get you into your dress," Elphaba told her. The green woman stood up and headed for the door before turning around and saying,
"If I see your makeup off when I get back…" she gave her friend a look before ducking out into the hallway and bumping into her future husband.
"How is she?" Fiyero wanted to know.
"Losing it. Her mother and father are here, right?" Elphaba asked.
"That's what I was coming to tell you. Yes, they are here. I'm having Lady Larena directed here," he said.
"Great. Have you seen Rachel and the ladies from the dress shop?" The green woman wondered.
"We're coming Miss Elphaba!" It was Rachel and her three helpers. She was a well-dressed woman from Gillikin and the green woman was glad that Lady Larena found these wonderful ladies.
"Thank Oz. Come on," Elphaba smiled and opened the door to Glinda's room so they could bring in the dress.
