Hyperdimension Neptunia

Third Sister; Darkness

Chapter 12

A declaration of friend and foe.

It's warm.
I am regaining consciousness. I don't feel any snow or even cold air. Not even outside air.
I am lying in something comfortable? This is… A bed? No?
Slowly, my eyes open as I try to figure out where I am. I do have a blanket over me. Soon, I realize I am sleeping inside a futon. I can see now I am inside a regular sized bedroom that looks traditional. Wooden walls, a few slide doors, and tatami mats under me. The only things illuminating this room are candle flames. I am trying to sit straight up, immediately, I feel a presence behind me.

Wolf? Did he bring me here? What is his deal?
I can't help but still be cautious of him. Even if my strength is greater, his skillset is not be laughed at.
I slowly turn around, only to see him get down on one knee and bow his head to me.
"Are you feeling well, Lady Goddess?", he asks me with respect.
I can only imagine how my face is right now, I am absolutely baffled.

What is he talking about. It was only a little over a month ago that I killed him multiple times. He was relentless and fearless, even against my goddess and evil forms.
"Be not afraid. We wish no harm upon you.", I hear a gentle and motherly voice the same time a woman walks past me before sitting down on a pillow near the wall to my left.
In seiza pose, she gives me a graceful bow before calmly introducing herself, "My name is Enma. Daughter of late doctor Dozan. Wolf and myself have vowed to serve lord Kuroi and under his orders we shall serve you.", she calmly explains, her body language showing nothing but subservience.

Wolf, too, bowed his head once more.
Before I could say anything, she says, "I understand, you may be confused. As Wolf reported, he fought you to the death at first. I understand if you don't trust us."
It seems she has more than enough experience conversing. She understands how I feel.

Name: Enma Shiroi
Age: Perhaps mid-thirties?
Height:165 CM
Occupation Shiroi Clan General/Manager of the Village Hidden in Snow.
Residence: Lowee.

Name: Wolf
Age: Aught to be mid-twenties.
Height: 175 CM.
Occupation: Kuroi's Shinobi.
Residence: Officially, none, Lowee is a homebase.

"I like to tell you that Kuroi is the current lord of the Shiroi Clan", she speaks to me, in between, I couldn't help but think, His name is literally black and he is from a clan that is literally named white…Also, the Shiroi clan are the leaders of this town as far as I've read.
"We serve any goddess and absolutely abhor the idea of going against once's wishes as long as it doesn't impede another goddess.", she explains to me.

"Aside from that. I also couldn't help but notice you saved my life. The gratitude my lord and myself have can't be repaid easily. I wish to hear more about you. You did save my life on purpose, am I mistaken?", her talks of thanks turns into a question.
I sit in seiza myself, after turning around to look at her, of course.
She holds out her palm and says, "No, no. You have just woken up from poison, I cannon ask you to sit straight and look at me just to talk."

I shake my head and say, "Don't worry. I'm fine. My life is most likely saved by you, too. So I must show my gratitude as well."
Enma looks down, then she looks back at me, almost tired, she says, "As I suspected. Tenchu's saying that you are a savage was inaccurate. Even Wolf's report seems misleading now. I can almost not believe you are behind so many ninja fatalities."
I see, she must be confused as to why I didn't attack her last time.

"I saved your life. It is true. I don't have anything against the ninjas themselves, even if they are after my life. I understand most of them are just doing their jobs. I don't wish to kill any of them whenever I can. That is also why I saved you, I don't know who you are, so I can't let you die.", I explain to her.
She nods before replying, "I understand. But if it isn't revenge that you are after, may I humbly ask what it is you are trying to achieve?"

"First, may I ask? Because I can't trust you yet. Why is mister Wolf here so respectful now? If harming a Goddess is against your clan's wishes, he should've avoided me the moment I transformed.", I need to get as much information before I give any.
It's not like I can't trust her. My mask is still on. They didn't bother to unmask me, so they must have some faith in me as well.

"Your concern is warranted. I apologize for Wolf's behavior and I know he regrets it just as much.", Enma saying that has Wolf make a painful looking face, then she continues, "He does work for Kuroi first, but he also needs to do jobs assigned by Tenchu. He wasn't aware he would face a goddess. But the commanders at the time has made people believe you are an evil goddess. I have instructed him to repent for immediately following a conclusion with no bases. We believe a goddess has to be proven to be evil before we stand against them. No doubt, Tenchu thinks otherwise."

"Tenchu, he is the leader of the ninjas, right? May I ask if he even really knew I was a goddess? I don't think there was anyone left to report about me besides Wolf. And I am not sure you would let him report honestly to Tenchu, considering you lied about me being in league with the assassins, not even mentioning I may be the leader of the Phantom Thieves, despite your other subordinates fighting me in the castle.", I throw a lot of questions and accusations at her.

But she calmly, although maybe with a bit more excitement, replies, "Ah, you are quite sharp indeed. As expected of a Goddess. Wolf is obligated to report to Lord Kuroi or me first. We told him to not tell Tenchu too much of you. That didn't prevent rumors about you, I am afraid. As for me lying back then, I felt the need to protect your secrets. As much as I want to make this an apology and declaration of service, I also would like to request your help. But that is a matter for a bit further into the conversation. To answer your first question, Tenchu is indeed what we call the master of Ninja. His real name is, Rikimaru Long."

"I understand. Then, I should answer what my business here is. I shall speak once you answer one final short question.", she listens attentively as I talk to her, then I ask her, "The Silicon Knight. Is he alright? I sensed him next to Wolf before I could tell he was immobile."
"If you are talking about your friend, he is unharmed. Wolf brought him to safety, and he himself had left for the hideout you people stay at, of which we didn't follow you to respect your privacy.", she answers. Wolf also adds to that, "I succeeded in assisting your ally."

That is a relief. I've been worried about him the entire time. If he is okay, I can trust them.
"For starters. My reason for coming here, is that we found out your leader, Tenchu, appears to have been influenced by SCJP.", I tell her.
"SCJP, you say? Could you give me an idea of who they are?", Enma asks.
I nod, and tell them, "An acronym for Plagia-Arts, Socia-entertainments, Computement-Corp and Justit-info B.V. These four are organizations that commit grave crimes in the shadows of Lowee. Perhaps you know of Avenir. They work under them.", I tell her.

"I know of the identities you speak, including Avenir. I was unaware they were an alliance. Though, I must question. Working with them is no sin, is it? We use a lot of Computement-corp's tech and Justit-info B.V's knowledge, this wouldn't make us complacent in their crimes, would it?", she asks me, looking at me with piercing eyes.
It doesn't bother me, I just simply answer, "Absolutely not. The intel of importance was from ninjas we interrogated. We learned of him directly speaking to Justit-info B.V's leader, taking missions from them, and even withholding and manipulating information from White Heart."

She closes her eyes and says, "I see. So that is how it is. I thank you."
Thank me for what?
"You see, we were having our suspicions around Tenchu. With your info added, we can be more certain he is corrupt as you say. If he is indeed taking deals with businesses like them, his recent actions make sense. We are in full support of you, Lady Goddess."
I can't help but scratch my head a little. There is something bothering me.
"I don't quite have the full image regarding the hierarchy of ninjas. What exactly is the authority Tenchu has? And are you not supposed to listen to him first? What are you planning?"

"I believe the rest should be explained by my lord…If you will, I humbly request your patience for a few seconds.", she asks me with a deep bow.
A door to my right slides open. In walks a young looking boy with black hair wearing a yukata.

Name: Kuroi Shiroi
Age: looks in his younger teens, unsure.
Height: 145 CM
Occupation: Lord of the Shiroi Clan, Devine Heir.
Residence: Lowee.

"My greetings, Lady Goddess. I apologize for not being here in the beginning of this conversation.", he says to me.
"I apologize as well. We needed to make sure you aren't hostile. Excuse our lack of faith.", Enma says to me.
I shake my head, "It is important to stay save first.", I reassure them.
"I thank you, Lady Goddess.", the young boy says with a bow before introducing himself, "I am the Heir to the Shiroi Clan, formally known as the Ryushira Clan. Kuroi, is my name. It's a pleasure to meet you.", he speaks in a very polite tone. I don't sense any arrogance in him at all, only regal class.

I bow back to him. Then I am asked by Enma, "Is it rude of me to ask your identity as well, Lady Goddess?"
"I am sorry to say, I can't speak of my human name. My Goddess name used to be Snow Heart, but now I go by Cold Heart.", I answer.
The boy in his confusion just spouts a, "Huh?!", from his mouth.
"I am sorry. But is it possible for a Goddess to change her name?", Enma asks.
"It's a complex situation. Let's say, I was born as one, then reborn as another.", I answer.

"I understand.", Enma says so, but she is, very excellently for the record, hiding her confusion.
The boy takes his time to sit down and tells me, "Lady Cold Heart, am I allowed to call you that?"
"You can call me Suno, if that is easier.", I tell him.
"Eh? I can't say anything too rude. Lady Suno, is that acceptable for you?", he asks me worried.
"If that is comfortable with you, I do not mind.", I tell him.

He starts to laugh a bit, "There is something very reassuring about you. You are not like what Tenchu said at all. Everything can be at ease with you."
"Talking is easier when everyone knows they are free to speak their mind.", I tell him.
I have learned proper manners, but honestly, I much prefer everyone speaking freely. Makes getting information easier.
"Well then, let us get to the main talking point. I would like to request your help. It is not a trivial one. I would understand it may invite some discomfort.", Kuroi speaks to me.
I look intensely at him. That is when he places his whole upper body on the floor, as he pleads, "Please. Save us in the upcoming war. Defeat master Tenchu."

This is a surprise. They are asking me to defeat their leader? I was expecting zero allies here.
"Please, elaborate.", I request.
He gets up the floor slightly, then he nods. He answers, "There is a war upcoming between the Shiroi clan and the Long family. I don't know how much you know of our history. So I should say that we used to be two families, one from Lowee, and one from the distant nation of Luawei. Our clans had formed peace after one big conflict. But it would seem those times have changed."

Enma continues his story, "We started suspecting Master Tenchu when he began to incorporate lots of independent special ninja to his side. As you may know, this village is meant for a central connection of all ninja, to ensure legality across Gamindustri and a save hub. Ironically, it is the Shiroi family that considers the global ninja groups, whereas the Long Family are directly working under Lowee. But since there is peace between all nations, there was no need for concern that Lowee's main hidden village would be the center of all ninja activity."

"But an imbalance of power is never a good sign for neutrality. Master Tenchu may be master of all ninja, but that shouldn't give him authority over all ninja groups. All branches have to discuss and agree to policies, his job is only to enact what has been agreed upon and enforce it. But if his branch becomes too powerful, that may stop him from having to care about the other branches. As of right now, Lowee's branch has become too big. He has amassed many special ninja, brought out many rouge ninjas, and not only two of the four flames are serving under him, he even has made sure to hire a third flame.", Kuroi tells me, speaking hastily.

You can tell he is quite upset about the current situation. But I don't quite get it yet.
"What exactly are the four flames?", I ask them.
"It is fair you are unaware. They have never gathered for a fight in centuries. There are four hidden ninja scrolls passed down to only the most capable apprentices of each wielder. In the past, one flame would be under the biggest branch of each nation. Of course, in the current of time, that would never stay the same. Some nations have had two before, but that was more coincidence than intentional.", Enma begins her explanation.

"The four flames each are represented with the colors, Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. These are subdued in hidden scrolls that get absorbed into an approved apprentice. You may have fought one of them before. Once they use the power of the flames, they gain exponential powers of fire.", her telling me that immediately makes me recall Kagura, who used the green flame.

"As of right now, the chosen apprentices are already receiving their scrolls, since ten years ago. One year ago, it was Marvelous of the red flame. Five years ago, it was Kagura of the green flame. Ten years ago, it was Yume of the blue flame. And the Master of all ninjas, Tenchu, has the final Yellow flame. As you may be aware, this means two high members of Lowee are flame wielders. Kagura is a rouge ninja that mostly does what she is paid for, so she can basically be considered a member too. And Marvelous doesn't belong to any nation either. Can you imagine the power imbalance?", Kagura paints a clear picture to me.

So, basically. It is like having three goddesses in one nation, with the only other goddess not being affiliated with any. There is no way for other branches to fight back unless they find some other grand mystical power.
"I understand what threat the flames pose.", I tell her.
Kuroi speaks up again, "Combined with other special ninja, it was clear to us he had other intentions. His missions would become more secretive. On top of that, Wolf has found documents regarding plans to gather forces for wartime. We feared they planned a coup against us."

"Is there a reason for Tenchu to want to commit an insurrection against you?". I ask them.
"Since it is our job to enforce a global peace between ninja, we are in the ways of his goal. Thanks to Wolf, it has become clear he wants Lowee to rule supreme, which is against our goals of wanting to preserve gaminndustri as a neutral force. Master Tenchu has already branded us heretics against Lowee by other ninjas. Making up stories as to how we plan to assassinate him. He isn't wrong, but he turned the order of events around. It has been proceeding rapidly after the great battle up north. He amassed many ninja thanks to the official mission to defeat the Phantom Crusaders. Now all these outsiders unwittingly will follow him in his war as they believe his words of us starting a rebellion.", Enma explains.

"And with Wolf helping us…", I hint towards them being in a worse position now.
"Yes, it may well be that he can easily declare war on us, branding us helpers of you.", Enma says.
"Branding a Goddess as evil and planning to gain dominance, what is Master Tenchu thinking.", Kuroi sounds more disappointed than angry.
He then tells me, "As of right now, we have a few strong allies in the Tortoises and their master. Wolf being our combatant for Master Tenchu…But as much as I believe in Wolf, I just know Tenchu has a high chance of coming on top.", Kuroi tells me with his head hanging low.

"I get the full picture now. Your master is amassing ninjas so force other branches into submitting to their will, and you are the only obstacles in his way. So by eliminating you whilst calling you heretics to get away with it, he may achieve his goal to control all ninjas in the world. A terrifying prospect, as it would mean he would gain much control over Gamindustri as a whole. On top of him being a SCJP conspirer. You lack the forces to repel his massive army build off of lies.", I say what I think out loud.

"That is exactly correct. Thank you for listening, Lady Goddess.", Enma says, bowing once more.
"I am happy to know you are understanding of our plight.", Kuroi says, smiling at me.
"Are you…Willing to help us?", he asks me, looking a bit hesitant.
"There is a bit of desperation in your question…Don't worry. I was going to eliminate your master anyway. Our goals align, let's work together.", I reply to them strongly.

Very quickly, the mood in the room brightens.
"We are overjoyed to hear that. Even with their great forces, we just need a few experts to turn the tides. I believe in the strength of the few who can overcome.", Kuroi tells me with joy.
"That being said. We know one of your members are here, are the others as well?", Enma asks me.
"Naturally.", I reply quickly.
"That is wonderful news. With four powerful allies, we have little to worry about.", Enma responds to this positively.

"So our forces consist of me, my three friends, Wolf, the Tortoises and their master. Each flame can be delt with by each member, but it would be difficult for you to hold off the other special ninja. Not to mention, Maone, Dragonette, and the mysterious adventurer I've heard about.", I tell her.
"That may be true, but I assure you, Marvelous would switch sides quickly if she knew she was up against a goddess. Especially if you told her the truth. I have no doubt she would be the one to stop Kagura. That leaves only the blue flame and the adventurer for your teammates and the Master for you. Dragonette and Maone are definitely a threat…", she speaks to me with more excitement than before, but then I see her worry when bringing up those two.

"I'm not sure about Maone. But I think I can get Dragonette on our side.", I tell them.
They both look like I told them to join a cult or something.
"Dragonette, you say? Are you certain? She is the daughter of Tenchu, you are aware, right?", Enma asks.
"I see. So her dad was Tenchu. That makes sense.", I mumble before speaking to them, "She never wanted to be a ninja! And her loyalty was never to her father either."

"I do not wish to speak against your truth, Lady Suno. But I must inform you. She has trained hard to become a ninja, and has recently become one of the most brutal members of the Long family. It just sounds crazy to us that you could make her switch sides.", Kuroi says to me, almost losing his polite tone.
I shake my head, "She is my friend…Long ago, we fought and helped each other. She has forgotten about me, like the rest of the world. That is maybe why she has grown so cold. There is no happiness in succumbing to her fate…But I can save her! You have to trust me on that."

"Well, if you speak so confidently about it. I will believe you.", Kuroi says with a smile.
"My lord, is that wise?", Enma asks, still not fully convinced.
Kuroi nods, "A goddess needs our faith to fuel her. If she says that so strongly, all I can do is place it upon her. Sir Wolf, you understand right?" Kuroi speaks before looking at Wolf.
He bows his head and says, "A promise from something a warrior said can only be broken in shame. You have believed I would prevail, and so I did. She will prevail as well, I believe."

"Then that is fine. With new allies on our side. We can start our own attack. It may be time to discuss our tactics.", Enma states, then starts going over their plans of attack.
There is an initial plan, and what stays the same is their attack after dawn. Most ninjas fight at night, so it would have seemed as a disadvantage for a smaller force, but that makes their attack during the day that much more of a surprise.

"What we need to do is carefully weed out the spies from inside our walls. On top of that, we need to see which ninja inside the underground we can recruit, without raising suspicion.", Enma states.
"May I suggest me and another member handle the ninjas in town? Just have your most loyal subjects interrogated by that master rat person, and I will make sure all other ninjas are identified as allies or foes, we'll capture the enemies and spies.", I suggest.

"You have a member capable of that much stealth?", Enma asks.
"She can easily allow us to sneak up on the panicked ninjas after she summons a blizzard into this town.", I tell her.
"Someone that can override our own spells. As expected of a Goddess' allies. Then, I shall have Wolf gather ninjas from the underground.", Enma says.
"Would you be willing to help us again, Sir Wolf.", Kuroi asks him.
"Roger.", he answers.

"It seems were are at an agreement then. May I ask you, Lady Suno. Is it possible for you to take your mask us? If you don't fully trust us yet, I understand.", Kuroi asks me.
Well, I can understand it may seem disingenuous for me to keep my mask on when it is all about trusting each other here, but…
"You must understand. It is not that I don't trust you. Only a select few people may know what I truly look like. Every time I reveal myself, maybe even my name, there is some risk I'll take. I must not be known. Not even to some people I care about and used to care about me.", I explain to them.

Kuroi looks like he understands this sentiment comes with heavy feelings attached.
"I see", he says in a sad tone. Then he tells me, "Can you at least tell me a bit about what the Phantom Crusaders do, why are you fighting Avenir?"
Ï explain to him the general circumstances we are in. SCJP's many crimes and their boss being Avenir. We all have a common cause to fight against them. I may show mercy to some, but I am dead set on killing everyone of SCJP for the involvement of hurting even the most vulnerable.

"I see. That is why you want to kill Master Tenchu. I prefer a more merciful end. But I understand now that he may not deserve it, if that is the company he befriends. We won't stand in your way.", he tells me.
I nod to him and say, "One more thing. I know this may sound odd. But I am no longer a true goddess. So you don't have to regard me as one. My ability to transform was supposed to be impossible. A miracle allowed me to gain share energy, if only temporarily. My body otherwise rejects share energy."

Kuroi looks deep in thought.
"Hm…I can't say I fully understand. But from what you've told me, you are no enemy to Lowee, and you are wanting to help regular people. I won't doubt you. I guess…Instead of allies or servants, we should be friends.", Kuroi tells me with a beaming smile.
I stick my hand out. He shakes it. And so we have declared, friends.

As the dark skies turn a yellow-ish color, I move out of the castle wand casually walk to the INN my friends are at. Once there, they move about the room with glee as they are calling my name.
"I have returned.", I say before looking at Sili-san and commenting, "Good to see you are alright."
He chuckles before replying, "Hey, that's my line!"

"I heard Wolf came in to protect Silicon and took him into hiding before coming to you. How does that work exactly? Aren't we enemies?", Acclaim asks me.
"I don't know how much Sili-san has been told. So let me just give all of you a full explanation.", I tell them.
I sit down to go over what I have been told and agreed upon. Theresa was sitting by my side, as if she were checking my health the whole time. She must have been especially worried for me.

"Man, that's crazy. We just wanted to sneak in and fight the leader, but now we are at war? I hope war isn't as bad as it sounds.", Sili-san says.
"According to my database, war is considered hell. But most recent ninja wars are not nearly as long. Considering this is a domestic fight between two small territories, the battle would only take a day, minimizing suffering.", Acclaim states.
"Should I feel relieved or scared to partake in this?", Sili-san asks, looking at Acclaim with empty eyes.
"But we must help them, right? They sound like the good guys…I think.", Theresa says.

I nod, "Of course. It is easier this way, isn't it? Let's be honest, sneaking around in a place of stealth specialists puts us at a disadvantage. Not everyone being an enemy here makes our jobs a lot easier. We are not in enemy territory anymore. And we can be upfront and fight without suspicion. War may be hell, but we fought armies of ninjas before, we know how they fight. Our only worry is the special ninjas. But if each of you defeat one, all that is important is me getting to the Master and eliminating him.", I tell them.

Sili-san begins to grin. "Finally, a simpler mission. I am up for that."
"Defeating special ninjas happens to be my specialty.", Acclaim states confidently.
"Each of us defeating three means we can even party up and defeat three guys as a team. Umu. I think I can also make it easier for our allies by blowing up their weaker numbers.", Theresa says, she tries to smile, but I can tell she may be a bit scared.
"Then, let's get over our battle plan. First and foremost, we have a mission to gather allies for the Shiroi Clan.", I tell them.

"Theresa. It is your turn.", I say with a confident smile. I want to radiate my trust in her.
"Eh, my turn?", she looks at me surprised.
"That's right. Tonight, with a bit of help, we sneak around and gather allies and weed out spies and enemies. I need your help.", I tell her.
She certainly looks anxious at first. And I think she knows I've always preferred her being on the sidelines. But I also recognize she is part of the team, and she can't grow if I only show her hesitance in giving her responsibilities. I want to grow her confidence as well.
She closes her yes, then she opens them determined and says, "Yes. I will do as you command."

"You're making me sound like the big bad boss.", I say with a smirk.
Her serious face turns into a questioning one, then she ends up laughing.
I tell her the plan. Theresa can create a blizzard over this town, alarming all nearby ninjas. With her teleportation we can move around anywhere instantly, and with my Wind Sense, I can easily pick out where each ninja is. She can also use wind magic to make it easier for me to follow movement in the air.

"I understand the assignment.", she tells me, with a neutral face.
It's like she switched a button on that turns her into work mode. She is already mentally prepared to go out. But the day has only started.
"You can relax until tonight. Actually, I wanted your help with something else.", I tell her.
She tilts her head. There isn't any way she can know what I could possibly want from her.
"There is a magic spell I want to learn. Can you tell me if it is possible to teach me a weather altering spell?", I ask her.

"Weather altering?", she asks me.
I nod. I sit down close to her and tell her, "You can make blizzards right? I wanted to make a spell that can create snowfall anywhere, even in a desert."
She places her hand on her cheek, thinks about it, and now she says, "My blizzard is done by using the snow and cold in the area already. Weather altering magic is a lot more difficult."
"So you don' think I can do it?", I ask her.

She shakes her head. Completely serious, she lectures me, "You don't need a high intelligence stat for it, for it is not an attacking move. You just need to understand how the spell works. I think with your appliance for magic, I can probably create one with you. It is only a lot harder to pull off, especially if you want it to last. Unlike my blizzard, it wouldn't be instant, for it would have to gather elements, air, molecules, atoms, and magic to alter the weather. But it isn't impossible, I can definitely help you."

"Alright.", after saying that to her, I look at Sili-san and Acclaim and tell them, "You two are free to do as you please today. I am going to go over the details with Theresa."
"As you wish. I may as well look how the village is doing, just in case.", Acclaim says.
"It's fine. I think I'll just go on a nice stroll.", Sili-san says, appearing to be in a good move.
After the two left the room, I discussed the spell with Theresa.

She tells me of all the different weather altering spell works. We also bring out a book with many spell descriptions. It would seem every weather effect has many different spells and methods, each one slightly altering the effect. One could have heavy downpour that lasts a minute, whereas the other can have constant rain for hours. Heavy downpour or harsh sunlight for hours has only been recorded once each in the history. Super Ancient legendary Pocketed Monstrosities have been based off of those magicians, though it had been said actual monsters had an ability that can do the same.

We found that there isn't much to learn from writings, just like other mages, we would have to come up with this spell on our own. Theresa can write the magical circle that can conjure snowfall, I just need to come up with specific things the circle would have to do to make it happen. We considered the elements and how to make it happen naturally. Since it isn't rain, only ice magic is needed to make it happen, so that isn't so hard. Rain is a lot more difficult, since it requires both ice and fire elemental magic. Water magic is exceedingly rare as it is.

"Okay. I've drawn this magical circle…Since this is an original creation, it is very difficult to learn. If you can't draw it in your mind, you will only have to imagine the basic shape and train this spell into completing itself automatically. To draw it in mid-air with low intelligence would be to shoot one icicle projectile that splits into the air, the light reflecting from the ice shards should magically form the circle. I recommend tracing it from my drawing first.", Theresa explains to me.

So the way this spell works, is it draws in magic from the air, it teleports cold air and moisture, and then it would explode into clouds filled with magical ice that should make it snow for about an hour, depending on my performance of the spell. Theresa tells me this method would work for me, for I have used other temperature based tricks before, If I can control the temperature and placing of the spell right, it would perfect itself over time of usage.

It took us all day to construct this spell, Acclaim and Sili-san returned quite soon after our accomplishment. They have taken take-out as well. After some good food to eat. we wait until mid-night for the event. We can all hear a *dud* sound from the sliding window. We open it up and see a single kunai stabbed in it with a message. I take it and open it.
"This is their way of saying it' time. The tortoises should be assisting us.", I tell them.
"Tortoises…I was a bit confused when you talked about them. Are they really tortoises?", Theresa asks me.

The other two looked at me strangely before when I told them the story, too. But I guess they have already experienced weirder things.
"Basically, they are mutated into human beings whilst still retaining their overall look…And they are ninjas. And they are younger than Sili-san and Acclaim.", I tell her.
"When you put it like that, there are more kids in this war than there should be.", Sili-san says.
"Fortunately, it is only the strong that join. We'll just have to make sure most enemies are knocked out and not killed.", Acclaim comments.
"Either way, most fighters are simply deceived. Our wish is to knock them out, and of course, we refuse to let ourselves get killed. The better we fight, the less problems there'll be.", I tell them.

"With that said, you are making them wait. Head out and make life bit easier for us, eh? Leader?", Sili-san talks cheeky to me.
"Oh no, you're going to have it the hardest during the war.", I tell him to give him psychological damage for making fun of me.
He gets up from his folded arm sitting position and says with a shaky voice, "Hey, what do you mean by that?!"

I urge Theresa to teleport us away.
"You can't just lea-!", is the last thing I heard before I just left with Theresa through her multi-teleport spell.
It doesn't take long for Theresa to brew a blizzard that goes over the village. This village was known for having spells and talisman used to cancel all negative weather, so it isn't surprising the surrounding ninjas are thrown in a frenzy. It is also easy for us to hide in the snow, for it impairs the vision of anyone else. With my Wind Sense, I can feel where our friends are waiting at.

I give Theresa a general direction and she helps teleport us on top of the wall behind the castle. That is where I once again go over the plan and introduce Theresa to them. To keep us hidden, I use Yukishihai to manipulate the snow around us, creating an extra thick cover.
"I suppose we don't have to stay hidden all at once, only me and Lion would be suspicious. You guys can move freely for the most part.", I tell the Tortoises and their master.

"Damn dude. That sword is crazy cool. Can you just control snow with your mind?", the purple tortoise says.
"It isn't that simple. This sword requires physical strength to truly take control of this element.", I tell him.
"Your strength must be impressive to have this much control with physical strength.", the red one says, sounding the most gruff of the group.

"I am curious too, how would you convert strength into control of elements with that sword?", their master asks me.
"Well, it is both mental and physical prowess that moves the snow. At first, I had to do small movements to activate its effect. Through what I truly believe will work can make the snow do as I will it. So movement is only necessary if my heart finds it so.", I tell them.
"Hoo. Quite a mystical weapon. Connecting the mind and strength of its wielder, it's almost like you become one with your weapon.", their master said.

"It's kind of making me jealous, I wish I could do these things with my katana.", the blue one tells me, he sounds pretty serious, but a lot friendlier than the red one.
"A weapon is only as good as its wielder. I was not able to do these things two months ago.", I tell him.
"Indeed, Leo, you should train yourself to achieve your own heights with your own weapons.", Their master added.
"I guess you are right. I will work hard to become stronger.", the blue one says back.

"I should also mention.", I speak, getting their attention, then I say, "I am sorry for hurting you back at the castle. None of you have any lasting injuries, I hope?"
"Heh, no need for concern. We are not so weak we can't take a beating!", the red one says.
"That's right. Although I may be a liiiiiittle miffed we have to work with the one that kicked our asses, but we are friends now right?", the orange one speaks like Sili-san, a bit of a goofy one.
"Micheal. We need to keep our fight as water under the bridge.", their master said.
"Sorry, master Splitter.", Micheal apologizes to the master.

"You don't have to worry. I deserve a bit of your hard feelings. I would even accept it if you hated me. We have to work together regardless, so I want us to be clear where we are standing.", I tell them.
They all kind of mumbled apologetically, basically saying they really don't have anything against me. The orange one just feels a bit hurt by our last fight, but he isn't really angry with me.
"It is still hard to think of you as wise when I have your form in mind. I am sorry for my slight weakness of mind.", their master tells me.

So far, when I transform, the mask transforms with me and undoes most of the effect. That, and while I haven't been unmasked, Wolf had to carry me and could feel I was a girl, small in size. They must find it difficult to belief when I'm not really acting like one.
"You introduced yourself and your friend to us. But I don't think we've really gone over our names, have we?", the orange one says to me.

Now getting a proper introduction, the orange one is Micheal, the purple one is Dio, the red one is Ralph, and the blue one is the leader of the four, Leo. Their master is Splitter, who trained alongside a karate master before he was murdered by a group of ninjas, said group has disappeared a long time again.

"Theresa. Make the wind flow so I can follow it easily.", I tell her.
"It is a bit difficult, because no spell can do that. I would have to use raw wind magic and control it. Give me a minute.", she announces.
I see Master Splitter look curiously at Theresa.
"You are quite a talented one. From my understanding, you actually are a young human, unlike your leader.", he compliments her.
Still focusing, she replies, "I just read a lot about magic. There were many mages around, sometimes bringing books with them that drop out of their bags."
"Ah, a diligent student!", Master Splitter says, looking quite happy with Theresa's talent.

I walk over to him and whisper in his ears. I give him a basic version of her history and how that got her to learn so much magic.
He groans and closes his eyes, "Such a shame. No one deserves that kind of fate. And for your talent to be so abused. I've learned of some who began to waste their lives away, refusing to use their talents, for it reminds them of the pain they had. Could you forgive me, miss Lion?", he genuinely tries to speak as gently as possible, I can tell he feels bad for talking without knowing what happened…No, I think he could tell the moment she was silent there was some pain behind her.
She just tells him, "Leader and friends need my magic. I am happy to see them happy. My magic will never remind of anything painful again, only think of how many great things I can do for others."

"It really is a shame. I would love a student like you, alongside my boys. Unfortunately, I am no master in magic in the slightest.", he tells her.
"You say, 'my boys', what exactly is your relation with them.", I ask him.
"They are my students, but I also consider them family. I would do anything to protect them.", he tells me.
"Hey, the feeling is mutual.", Micheal says.
"Master Splitter's lessons are the reasons we have lived for so long.", Dio comments.
"I would never let anyone hurt Master Splitter either.", Ralph adds.
"We are brothers, and Splitter is not much different from a father.", Leo tells us.

"I see. Then, let's make sure everything works out.", I tell them. Now I close my eyes. Theresa's magic is already doing wonders. I can easily see where all the ninjas are going and investigating. I can't hear them, but their finger pointing and mouth flaps indicate yelling, probably commanders shouting to hurry up and find the cause for the blizzard.
"It's working. I can see where every ninja is going.", I tell them.

"I heard you had a way of seeing things coming from behind you. According to Wolf's reports, barely any surprise attacks work. This ability of yours must be the reason.", Master Splitter says.
Dio asks, "That makes me wonder, what exactly is this power. Urr…Lady Cold Heart?"
"That sounds like a villain name.", Micheal says, immediately getting elbowed by Ralph after, him scolding Micheal, "Shut up."
I do see Ralph look to the side, probably to stop himself from admitting it's true.

All right. I have some targets. To paint a picture: We are on top of the middle of the northern city wall.
"Three ninjas south west of the castle are moving down the streets with no one nearby, four ninjas are near the north eastern corner of the city. The way they are moving and the items they are picking up indicate some type of communication and preparations, highly likely to be traitors. Another group of three ninjas, one being a commander, are walking in an alleyway alone slightly west from the middle of the city, and lastly, south-east in a round square there appear to be five ninjas alone searching for something.", I tell them.

"That is amazing. How do you know all of that?", Dio asks me.
"Wind Sense. I can sense anything the wind blows on, almost like they are a painting of wind in my mind.", I tell them.
"Ho…Wind Sense. It's been a long time since I've met someone with that ability. I knew a ninja who used to be able to do that. Yes, Wind Sense used to be more common with Ninja, along with Earth Sense. Now the only one with an elemental sense we know is Master Tenchu, who knows of the rare Shadow Sense.", Master Splitter elaborates.

After hearing the tortoises excitingly converse over this ability, I tell them, "We have to move quickly. Me and Theresa will teleport to the most far away location."
"I figure Ralph would want to punish traitors the most, so I think we should go together to the north-east.", Leo said.
"Me and Micheal will take the ones near the castle.", Dio says.
"I assume the commander has more respect for the elderly, so I shall chat with him.", Master Splitter says.

"Okay. Then we should split up. Party-wide teleport can not separate directions, so you should move out on your own. Remember, our goal is to use Theresa's teleport and blizzard to guide friends to the castle, so tell any ally to wait for us.", I tell them.
"Roger!", all of them answered before quickly getting away using the Stealth Speed skill.
"Okay. That just leaves us, Theresa.", I tell her. She nods to me.
We already have a teleport circle established, the only thing she needs to do is imagine the end destination.

In no time at all, we appear near the five ninjas searching around. To no surprise, they pull out their weapons.
"It's them! The intruders!", they shouted.
"That is incorrect. We are under orders from the Shiroi clan.", I tell them. This did leave them stunned.
"Huh? What do you mean?!", one of them shouts at me.
"Tenchu was right! Shiroi Clan really is aiding criminals! Capture them! We can interrogate them and learn more of their betrayal!", as soon as I heard that, I sprang into action.

With Light Step, I appeared behind him and knocked him out with a chop to the neck.
They look at me with extreme caution and prepared battle stances, but then I tell them, "That was a traitor. We came here with a message from Lord Kuroi. "The bird flying through molten snow experiences cold no less than warmth, only flying through the balance will it be free." Do you understand now?"
They suddenly dropped their guards. Now they are trembling, except for one of them.

"So…Does that mean, the time has come?", one of the trembling ninjas ask me.
I nod, saying, "Now, if you check your ComputementCorp device for the promised message."
While three of them looked at me bewildered, one of them picked up his phone and looked at it with a blank stare…Until he couldn't find anything.
"So…You are also a spy…", I say quietely. Immediately he springs into action, but it wasn't even a contest. I just sped towards him and shoved my fist into his gut, knocking him out.

"Excuse my rough methods, we are currently in the process of weeding out spies and enemies. The time has come for you to gather at the castle. You shall follow my assistant, Lion.", I tell them.
Theresa walks towards them slowly, "Follow me.", she says as she surrounds us with a blizzard. I'm sure they understand we are the source of this blizzard.
Since it is more difficult to move and cast a wide range teleport spell, Theresa lets the blizzard guide them to where she is teleporting, as for me, I can easily keep up with her at my speed.

Wolf should've swept the castle with any potential enemies, in fact, they already lured assassins out before. Like the one I put to sleep when I invaded the castle. Now the castle will be a stronghold for all ninja allies. As promised, Theresa would pick up all the ninjas informed by the tortoises and Master Splitter. We found plenty of defeated foes, which I brought along so they could be imprisoned and interrogated. Most Commander level ninjas are informed by Master Splitter due to his authority they are more likely to listen to him.

Of course, we kept an eye out for Commanders who were spies or traitors, but those rarely got into this village to begin with. Most Commanders that would be on our side are more likely to have homes outside the village, or are in the cave. If I sensed any ninja that were hiding and using a device, I put them to sleep. We can interrogate them later to see if they are enemies like we suspect them of being. After a few hours, there was no one left outside but us.

We are gathered up on top of the castle's roof.
"I think it is time to lift the Blizzard, Lady Lion.", Master Splitter says.
Theresa nods and countered her own blizzard with wind magic, calming down the heavy snow and wind.
"Wow, you did that so easily!", Dio says absolutely dumbstruck, he later writes in a notepad.
"We have no talent with magic, so this is all amazing to us.", Leo told me.

Theresa just humbly reacts with, "It's only so easy to dispel it because I am canceling out my own magic. If someone else used the blizzard spell, it would be a struggle before it could be canceled."
"I do appreciate you giving us lessons to how it works as well. It is understandable that ninjas hide their tricks, but I wish my boys to have all knowledge available to sharpen their minds.", Master splitter comments.

"With that out of the way. The only thing we need to do is see how Wolf has progressed in the cave. After that, we have to shut down the entrance and gather a few ninjas outside the walls. We can guide them near the village and mass teleport them into the castle's lowest floor.", I tell them.
They all give me a nod before jumping off, basically disappearing in shadow.
"We can just enter from the front door this time. Way more convenient.", I tell Theresa.
"I can't imagine sneaking around like you did for a long time. Even now my heart races…", at this small moment of respite, she just exited work mode to express how she feels, I can see a smile on her face regardless. I suppose it is a thrill that is both scary, but amusing.

I can hear her breathing too now, she is finally catching her breath. I'll wait for a bit. At this point, we can easily go to the basement and enter the cave. Some of the ninjas we recruited were greeting us as we walked down. There are guards waiting on the stairs themselves. They must be waiting for us to let them close the gate so no one can enter.
"I'm not sure how to go about this. It isn't as easy as just teleporting to secret spots and grab some ninjas quickly.", I tell Theresa.
She nods, saying, "We might see that mister… Wolf? We might see him do his job and get an idea."

I look above us, the web of silicon is gone. I don't really see any lookouts either, though.
One of the ninjas near us walked up to me, carefully kneels, and calmly reports, "We insisted to do lookout duty today to compensate for our failure in letting you through. In reality, it was a lie to allow Sir Wolf to get down undetected. So far he has eliminated the few spies within the lookout group and collected 80% of the known ninjas on our side."
"Thanks for the report.", I tell him.
"My pleasure.", he replies with a bow before…Fading away. Some of these ninja tricks are odd, but I digress, we need to spot Wolf.

I can see him in the distance. Theresa has some binoculars given by Acclaim. I didn't think I'd be too good of a lookout with them, I mostly use Wind Sense to properly look for things. Theresa here kept an eye on Wolf and basically tells me what he is doing. It would seem his plan revolves around bringing the special words out in paper and throwing it on possible allies. I suppose the agreement already was to enter from the south-east corner. Since they are ninja, they can easily scale that wall.

Wolf uses his stealth techniques between alleys and rooftops, Theresa actually tells me he looks transparent. Maybe some kind of skill? The only thing I don't see is how he weeds out possible traitors. Then I see them get on a cliffside near where we are standing. He just attacks all of them calling all of them traitors. Most of them look shocked at him, whilst one goes, "Tch, so you figured it out?", and attacks him back.
Either way, Wolf easily defeats him. I see, his plan is to weed out traitors by luring everyone there, calling them traitors, and those that are will think he found out, but in reality, they just give themselves away.

With the next batch of ninjas, all of them anxiously said they didn't know what he is talking about and assured him they are on our side. Wolf comes along with them to this cliffside where the entrance to the castle is. As they pass by, he is willing to report to me. But first, I asked these ninjas, "Have you received the password necessary to enter from your ComputementCorp device? You should have a message now, as we promised."

Most of them look confused at me, but two actually looked.
I get near them and use my Reflection hands to shoot them into a wall. They are not knocked out, but traveling at light speed has them dizzy and nauseous.
"Sorry for being crude, I just wanted to check for spies. As you can see, there were two.", I tell him calmly.
"Not a bad idea. I shall use it for myself going forward. Lady Goddess, my work is almost done. Do you need anything from me?", Wolf responds.

"We're going to help you finish this up and head above ground to get the final few ninjas.", I tell him.
"Roger.", Wolf says.
"Before that, can we now be sure you didn't let any spies in? Nothing against you or anything, but if I wasn't here, two would've gotten in.", I told him.
"I won't allow any spies to ruin our plans. The guards inside the stairway are instructed to have all ninjas from this side stay inside the stair way so we can double check them. Orders from Lord Kuroi.", he tells me.

"Good, we can check them when we return.", I tell him. He bows to me before heading back down. For now, I go down with him, Theresa will use weak wind magic to create breezes making it easier for me to sense other people. I do what Wolf is doing, but I also ask the ComputmentCorp device question into the mix. Discerning between enemies and allies becomes a lot easier. It isn't that we don't have allies who use their technology, but they are less likely to and unlike spies wouldn't expect us to send them a message through it.

The spies pretend to be part of our cause, in fear of having missed a secret message, I was sure they would pretend to have gotten the extra message. There might be some wiser than that, but that won't be too hard to tell. The Shiroi clan is fortunate to have many loyal ninjas, a lot of them seem more lively than the ones we tend to fight against. That distinction also helped us spot enemies.

It didn't take long for us to gather all friends in the underground area. Now behind the gate and on the stair, we close the doors and let the front cave in. Then the ninjas come together with talesmen and scrolls to cast some kind of barrier. Theresa can help here, enforce the barrier with her own shielding magic.
"Hooo. Many thanks, sorceress. They can't penetrate this barrier for sure now.", Theresa was told.
She shakes her head and replies, "It's only so strong because of your spells setting the basis. It makes it easy to reinforce. Mine own barrier spell would be too weak."

Theresa wasn't being humble, her own barrier can shatter if a few dozen ninja hit it with all elemental spells at once. This barrier is something even I would be unable to break without transforming and using my most destructive attack. From here, Theresa can use mass Teleport to send me, Wolf and herself to the outside where we can gather the last few ninjas necessary.

From there, we meet up with Master Splitter and the Tortoises. I devise a plan with them. To be undetected, Theresa can cover us with a blizzard and I can manipulate the snow to make it easily traversable for us and make the snow around us even thicker. We march towards the residential areas inside a blizzard.
"Oh, this is very impressive indeed.", Master Splitter comments.
"Isn't this totally cool?! Hey, Wolf, come one, say something.", Micheal speak excitingly.

Wolf just looks annoyed and makes a grunt.
"Man, this guy never talks.", Micheal said.
"To be fair, Mike, He is meant to be our ultimate ninja. It would be uncool if he blabbers a lot.", Dio tells him.
"Can you imagine blabbering a lot. What kind of loser would do that.", Ralph looks at Micheal with a smug face as he says that.
"Haha, very funny.", Mike replies to him sarcastically.

"Brothers, we should stay silent. They could still hear us.", Leo told them.
"Hesitation leads to defeat.", Wolf suddenly lends us his voice.
We all look at him in surprise. Than he elaborates, "A worthy opponent said this to me many times before I could win. Do what must be done. I used to believe in a ninja code that was taught to me by my adoptive father…But I've made my own. I will do anything and use anything to protect and fulfill the wishes of my lord and few friends."
They all looked impressed at him. Master Splitter says, "That is what I like to hear from our ultimate ninja."

Do what must be done, huh? I wonder. Is that my mentality? What would the two other me's think?
A long road was abound. We would walk amongst ninja scouts. But they really couldn't see us. At worst, we would have to let Theresa cast an explosion spell far away to lure them out of our direction. The first house was the most eerie experience, we don't know if some of our allies have already been ratted out and captured. Wolf would go around and on top of the house to hear if anything is off.

Master Splitter would be the one to contact the ally or allies inside the house. Our first recruitment was successful. Over time, we would have a few dozen ninjas traveling alongside us. As we feared, some were being held captive inside their own homes. But for us, surprise attacks don't mean much. We can easily subdue ninjas and leave into the blizzard where no one can find us. Although, I also can't help but notice most higher ranking ninjas aren't around. I know the last few times had mostly Genin enemies, too, and figured it is because all the high ranking ninjas are gathering at Tenchu's mansion. Right now, they must all be standing guard, just in case.

Eventually, we have gathered all ninjas we can.
"All right, everyone, stand in the Lion Enchantress' magical circle.". Master Splitter commanded them.
Theresa's almost drained of SP, her last remaining spell for today will be used now to teleport us all back to the castle. With everyone inside, Theresa almost collapses. A lot of them gasp worried, but I catch her and see she isn't going to faint. But she lost a lot of strength to keep up so many spells for a long period of time.

"You've done plenty today. I'll carry you back home.", I tell her.
"Thank you for your services. Lady Cold Heart. Lady Lion.", Master Splitter tells us.
Kuroi has come down together with Enma. Wolf bows down to him.
"Thank you all for gathering. I will shortly explain the plan. First, Wolf and Master Splitter will further investigate friend and foe. But I know with the many of you that are friends, you wouldn't forgive anyone betraying us now. We are all in this together. We are in this for peace.", Kuroi preaches.

I see everyone attentively listening to him. Despite his young appearance, he already demonstrates leadership skills.
"As for now. I must ask you to let our newest allies return home and rest. As for you, Lady Suno. I ask you to rest at the castle the next night.", so he says.
I nod to him. Now I take my leave with Theresa. We returned to the INN, Acclaim and Sili-san already have gone to sleep. And we will follow suit immediately.

In my bed, I try to enter my mindscape. In the dark void, I see two entities sitting down on chairs of air. One is my original HDD form, Snow Heart.
The other is a manifestation of all the negative energy I have accumulated upon reviving, the reverse Goddess, I believe her name was, Cold Soul.
"Look who joined the party. I guess you couldn't ignore our little disagreement.", Cold Soul speaks to me with sass and an absolute arrogant facial expression.

Snow Heart looks emotionless as always and says, "Introduction: Welcome master. Apology: Sorry for disturbing you. But this vermin is poison to our mind. She has tried to take you over more times, and I now plan to eradicate her."
Cold Soul sneers at Snow Heart, she wags her finger with a humorous grin, then she says, "No no. You can't eradicate me, I am the strongest version of us. You should know of SSD's superiority. Besides, you have been no different lately. Trying to force HDD on her."

"Correction: HDD or SSD don't matter here, only the manifestations of our powers and our will. Fact: We both have equally good skills, our strength is virtually the same. Current conviction: I will win, for my will power is stronger.", Snow Heart argues.
Cold Soul scoffs, responding passionately with, "Heh! You barely have a will! You can't even talk like a human, you are more machine! What is a will without feeling?! My feelings of hatred and joy will overcome any soulless duty you have assigned yourself to!"

"You two are fighting inside my mind?", I ask them.
Cold Soul looks at me cruelly and says, "Yeah…And if I win, you won't be able to ignore me anymore…"
"Declaration: I refuse to let evil into our heart. I will eradicate every trace of it.", Snow Heart says, her facial expression slightly shifted, the light in her eyes burning whilst looking at Cold Soul.
"Listen! There is a very important fight happening tomorrow! I can't have you mess up with my transformations!", I tell them.

"Huh?! Who are you to order us around?! Those powers are ours to begin with, what do you contribute at this point?! You peaked. But our share and negative energies are ever expanding! You are complaining you can't use borrowed power, cry me a river! Oh, but you can't, because that would be a negative feeling, and you'd rather erase those!", Cold Souls speaks at me mockingly, but as she prattles on, her anger increases and her voice slightly raises.
"Argument: Master, if I give my power to you, I can't stop her from taking over your body.", Snow Heart tells me.

I can't say I feel very brave in here. Snow Heart will make sure Cold Soul can't attack me, but I am out of my league between these two. I can only look at then displeased.
After staring at me irritated, Cold Soul sighs, then she says, "Listen. We have exhausted our mental energy. Our battle WILL happen tomorrow. And I hate to tell you, it will likely be when you fight their master. Because by that point, the adrenaline you have will bring us to the peak of our strength. Use my transformation as you please before then."
It is odd, the most unhinged person I've met is suddenly talking rationally.

"Proposal: We can open you to transformation, but it would reflect your mental state, so whoever is winning would automatically transform you with either my processor units or hers, however, you will either revert back or be able to choose when we are both equal in terms of mental strength. Apology: I want to please you, Master, but this fight must happen.", Snow Heart tells me.
Even my goddess version is telling me they won't back down in one of the most important battles.

"Listen, I don't care about your silly fights outside. I only want to kill everyone. Either allow me or shut up and fight the good fight yourself. Keep playing hero or whatever.", Cold Soul tells me, she sounds incredibly condescending, on top of that, she looks at me in disgust.
"You two…No. You better not cause me any trouble!", I tell them.
"Sorry, Master.", Snow Heart says.
"You have no power over us.", Could Soul tells me.
Their peerless stares make me feel like I am mentally drifting apart. This feeling affects my mind. I am getting thrown out of my own mindscape. The next day will be soon upon me.

In the upcoming day, we can feel at ease, unlike the townsfolk. They are used to ninjas watching them and running over rooftops 24/7. But today? Not a single one inside. It is bizarre to me to see people more anxious when they are NOT being watched. But that must have been how they've always lived, and they have the deepest respect for these ninjas of course, so it makes sense they are afraid. A lot of them tell each other and us to be careful. Lots of rumors spread as to why the ninjas are suddenly gone. A few know of the blizzard last night as well, another unusual thing.

But as much as they want to investigate and even find a way to help the ninjas, all they can do is run around and bark orders at each other to clean up town and find them. The following evening, we are invited to stay at the castle. There would be one more final banquet before the war. I told the ninjas inside the castle to not touch Theresa in any way when receiving us as guests. In the evening when most townsfolk are home, we are escorted to the castle. This would be the first time our allies would see us with our masks to our sides.

Us four gather around one table nearby Kuroi, Enma and Wolf. Their families are eating at another table right next to them. The Tortoises were enjoying their pizzas, however, Master Splitters is just chilling next to a wall, probably isn't a fan of parties. Wolf has no choice but to participate, he sits ready to stand up at any time to defend his lord. Even now he is in work mode. Even though some glances are shot our way, these three have no trouble relaxing and enjoying the food.

I don't feel at ease. Big gatherings like these were never my thing. They tire me out a lot. But I was forced into some of them by Big Sis because we all had to make public appearances.
My uneasiness simply gets worse whenever someone looks over, the other three are too into this to notice, but with my Wind Sense it is barely ignorable to me. I can even here them Whisper. Things like: "Is that them?" "They are the Phantom Crusaders? Two of them are kids!" "Hey, loli Shinobi are very respected in this household!" "Man, shut up! Weren't they enemies two days ago?! I heard they were trying to kill Lady Enma!"

After some time passes, Enma claps to get everyone's attention.
"Please, lend me your ears. Lord Kuroi wishes to speak.", Enma commands.
In a second, all eyes are on Kuroi.
I can see in his eyes that his heart skipped a beat, but he quickly shakes it off and begins to speak with regality, "All my great ninjas. Please listen to me. I hope you have all been enjoying this feast and rest before the final battle. I know all of you must be worried. That is why I want to raise your spirits! Our new allies will be the reason we win!"

At first, everyone was just looking at him, but now they all turn and lean over.
"I have enlisted the aid of the Phantom Crusaders!", after shouting that, he looks at us and asks, "May you, please, walk up here and share your feelings with my men."
I see, so that is how it is. I am going to sleep through the whole morning after this…
Reluctantly, I get up. The others follow me up a small stage Kuroi is sitting on. We all face the huge crowd of ninja before us.

"These four are my friends! Whatever doubts you have, cast them aside. There are no stronger allies than these four, and they will pour their hearts and souls into this battle. You need not worry, for Lady Cold Heart will carve our path to victory!", Kuroi says.
He wants us to raise their morals. How difficult. I hope I can make up a decent speech…I might have to do a risky play here.
It is good to stop them from doubting us, we are essential for the plan, and they know that. I can see some recognize us as that family that has been walking around the streets and can't believe their eyes.

"Ladies and Gentlemen! Honorable Shinobi of the Hidden Snow Village! I am not your enemy! Regardless of what everyone says, we have been on the side of justice from the very beginning! My crew has every intention to stop Tenchu from his grave crimes! He has been corrupted by the four great organizations under Avenir and will use it for his own goals! I cannot allow that.", my speech isn't immediately convincing them, so, I transform and finish my first speech with, "We won't allow them any massacre, for I am a Goddess!"

Now, their eyes light up. Their jaws drop on the floor. This is the only time they can recognize me, so I have to make it quick, I don't want them to remember what I look like.
"It's not just me. Every member here is capable! They can have the strongest forces on earth, but we won't yield! I am a goddess, on the side of Lowee!", this immediately gets them to listen to me attentively.

I revert back and begin my real speech, "The ensuing war that comes from Tenchu is no glory for Lowee! No matter how much strength they will gain, the war they will fight across Gamindustri in Lowee's name will only hurt its children! As someone from Lowee, you must all know how much we care about the happiness of all children, So you understand how bad this is, don't you?! Lowee is no good as a warring nation! Peace is much better! And these organizations that corrupted your leader, they have allowed themselves to rule Lowee from the shadows. But the shadows should truly belong to the ninja, so they can help others! Not use and abuse them!", now I can see their faces truly shine.

I finish my speech with, "That is why we fight. We are the Phantom Crusaders! And this war will end in our victory! From the shadows, once again, we keep Lowee save…No. We keep Gamindustri safe from those that prefer war and glory over the joy of our friends and family!"
Now I can see them cheer…Modestly, for they are ninja and prefer to be on the quiet side.
Kuroi nods and says, "Humu. As expected of Lady Suno. That was a marvelous speech. You four can sit down and relax now."

We bow deeply and take our leave back to the table.
"Tomorrow! We will take our arms to the battlefield! All my friends who have joined, together we can overcome any obstacle! They think we're coming for them tonight! But no, we will surprise them by striking at them at noon! So eat your fill and rest well, for tomorrow we will fight for an even bigger victory feast! Don't you dare die out there!", Kuroi tells them.
So, according to the plan. We declared war on them through a series of fireworks, but now they must be standing outside waiting for us to attack.

Except, we're attacking the next day when they lose some of their tension. The ninjas here are happy with that, for they are more often on duty during the day to protect the village. Their skills during the day are better than Tenchu's ninjas…Well, normally. Right now he gathered so many different people as soldiers, it is impossible to truly plan a solid strategy. But that is why we four are here, any special ninja should lose against us. We just need to at least defeat one each…Well, except for me. I have to fight like, three, probably. And the master.

And so, our final peaceful night comes to an end. Tomorrow, it is a war against the strongest ninja force ever gathered in the history of Gamindustri.
