In a strange platform that had hundreds, if not thousands of manga panels floating around the area, five individuals were left in shock.
"What is this place?" a ninja with blonde hair and a black and orange ninja uniform gasped.
"Is this Umbras…?" a man with large spiky black hair and a blue and orange gi pondered.
That's when they heard someone call out to them.
"Heey! You guys are here too?!" a cartoony pirate with a scar on his left cheek and an x on his chest, wearing a long red cardigan, light blue shorts, and a straw hat. As well as a young boy with dirty blonde hair, a long brown leather jacket that resembled that of a pirate, a skull and crossbones-like T-shirt that had a dinosaur skull in place of the normal human skull, dark blue jeans, and red sneakers.
They were also accompanied by a young man with lavender blue hair, a purple vest, black shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes with red outlines, and a sword sheath strapped to his back.
"Luffy, Trunks, Cody! You're okay?" the strange man asked.
"We're doing just fine. What about you guys?" Cody asked.
"How annoyingly persistent. Stop getting in my way." an ominous voice snarled as a dark force obscured by an almost ink-like aura surrounded them.
"There's nowhere to run!" the ninja snapped.
"Just what are you trying to pull?" the man in the gi questioned the force.
"I am merely attempting to fulfil my true role as the Overseer." the force said, which seemed to get on Cody's nerves.
"Overseer? HA! The only thing you'll be overseeing is your own defeat!" Cody smirked, holding up some kind of device.
"Hrmph. To think you would use that against me? Pathetic." the force snarled, "Let me show you just how wrong you truly are…"
That's when a dark light began to shine brighter and brighter until there was nothing but a white void…
KAMEN RIDER JUMP
ISSUE 1: THINK ON HIGH! LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!
"Cody… Cody! CODY ALDRICH!"
Cody woke up in a cold sweat, a manga falling off of his face while he looked around the comic and manga shop he was looking over.
"Break's almost over. We need to get ready for the incoming summer rush." a voice said.
Turning around, the young man saw a girl his age with medium-length blonde hair that had pink highlights. Her attire consisted of a simple black jacket over a white button-up shirt, a plaid pleated skirt, stockings, and loafers.
"Right, sorry about that Kay." Cody apologized.
"You really should stop reading manga so much… you dumb comic geek…" the girl sighed with a shake of her head.
"Hey, it's New York. Gotta have something to pass the time in this crazy city." the blonde boy chuckled.
"I swear, you've kept your head in the clouds since we were kids." the girl, Kay Farris, commented
"Think on high, and you'll see everything coming." Cody quoted something from his old man.
Kay sighed and placed her hand on her face, "This is the worst."
Cody chuckled before the two began to fix up as several people began to pour into the little shop. The blonde then placed the manga he was reading into his bag and began to man the register.
'Still, what the heck was that weird dream? What's an Overseer, and why were Goku, Naruto, Luffy, and Trunks with me?' he thought to himself while he worked.
As the sun set, Cody and Kay began to close up shop and prepare to head upstairs for the night.
"Aye, welcome back Cody." An elderly voice spoke up as the young man looked to see an elderly Irish man behind the counter. He had an eyepatch from an incident long ago and wore a simple white long-sleeved shirt with a red sleeveless jacket on top, sometimes he even wore a simple Mariner's cap. Next to him was an orange cat with what looked to be a cavalier hat with a white feather on top, sleeping soundly as the elderly man petted it.
"Oh, welcome back Mr. Farris!" Cody greeted him.
"Please sonny, call me Morgan! You've earned it, my boy!" the old man laughed heartily.
"I hope your trip back to Japan was a pleasant visit?" Cody smiled at the elderly man.
"Ha ha! I had a bit of a craic! It was nice seeing me old fishing buddies." Morgan laughed, "Now then, what's the story? My granddaughter making ya act the maggot?"
"Ugh… just these… weird dreams I keep having randomly…" Cody groaned out. "I don't even know what's going on! Heck, sometimes it just happens! Not even when I'm normally asleep."
"Hmm… you don't look knackered to me." the old man observed.
"Grandpa!" the two heard as Kay quickly ran towards the old man and gave him a big hug.
"Ha ha! It's nice to see ya."
"Nihongo genki desu ka?" Kay asked in her second native language.
"Táim sláintiúil, a dhuine bhig. Ní gá a bheith buartha." the old man responded in kind with the pair's third language.
Cody sighed, 'Wish I knew Japanese or Irish…'
"Maybe if you studied in class, you could?" Kay playfully stuck out her tongue at him.
"Hey, just because you're the top student doesn't mean that you can lord it over me!" the blonde snarled.
"Hmm… I think I can." Kay teased the boy.
"Ahhh, young love." Morgan sighed happily. "When will you two finally just confess to one another?"
"WHO SAYS WE'RE A COUPLE!" the two roared in unison, faces blushing extremely heavily, which only seemed to make Morgan laugh a lot more.
Cody sighed softly, soon another pair of memories resurfaced. "Think… my parents are still out there somewhere?" He asked, as it gained their attention and sad looks on the two.
The old man sighed, "That I don't know of, lad. I wish I had any answers for ya."
"Then just who even am I?!" He snapped, "I don't know who they were or where they came from! Yet here I am!"
"Cody-"
"No! I won't calm down!" The young blonde frowned heavily, "While I still owe you for taking me in… I can't just sit idly by anymore… I need to know who I am and where I came from. You always tell me there's a purpose for everyone. Then just what is mine!? Just what am I?"
After letting out that rant, the blonde took a deep breath and sighed.
"I… I'm sorry about that." He apologized as he felt like he stepped of line.
Cody knew that Morgan had been searching the world over for any sign of the parents that vanished one day when he was five. But despite that, it had been ten whole years since that day. He needed to know where his family was and if they were safe.
Understanding of her best friend's plight, Kay clasped his hand.
"I promise, we will find your parents." She told him, "I just wish there was a way we could find them."
"As do I…." The young man sighed, heading upstairs to his room. Kay wanted to follow, but her grandfather stopped her, shaking his head.
"He needs time alone… Just leave him be." Morgan pleaded to her.
Like every night, Cody began to read his favorite manga. Pirate Hero Journey, an adventure manga about a pirate who travelled the world. This hero was also like him, searching for someone that he cherishes but doesn't remember. Yet his heart continued to search out for them, finding new friends and fighting off those who either were evil or did wrong to the friends.
It still made him confused as to who made it, as there's no Author Notes or even a handle to identify, yet the manga just appeared one day and has been his favorite to read.
'Wonder if I could see these worlds someday too?' He pondered before falling asleep.
The next morning, Cody and Morgan were setting up shop for another work day while Kay had left to grab some groceries for tonight's dinner. The blonde was still a bit tired, but the old man gave him a look of reassurance. Cody could only smile and silently thank the sailor for the moral support.
And then, the world shook.
"Huh?! What was that?!"
As they looked up in the sky, they took notice that black spots were forming. Soon what looked to be panels appeared as what seemed to be ink, spewing from it and hitting the ground. As the ink pooled, out came what looked to be… monsters. Enemies. Foes defeated by many others.
One set looked to be like the Frieza Soldiers, cackling and firing amongst the crowds. Another looked to be like that of Hollows, roaring loudly and feasting on the flesh of the masses.
More and more began to appear as it seemed the world was being overrun and destroyed by these foes. As if the world itself was ending.
"Wait, Kay's out there!" Cody gasped with worry, "I have to go find her!"
"Cody, wait lad!" Morgan gasped, but the blonde was too determined to find his friend.
As he ran, Cody could see these strange monsters rampaging through the city, each one attacking innocent civilians. But it was what was happening in the sky that shocked him.
"My, my! Another city gone to ruin!" A voice all too familiar to him laughed.
Looking up to the sky, he saw a large ink-like portal in the sky where hundreds upon hundreds of monsters were pouring out. And watching it from above was a large humanoid lizard-like man with purple orbs across his head, shoulders, chest, forearms, and shins.
"Good work, all of you!" The tyrant of the Dragon Ball universe, Frieza, laughed as he looked towards a strange cloaked man, "Rejoice! For your world shall be one with us!"
"F-Frieza?!" Cody gasped in shock. "Oh no… KAY! KAY, WHERE ARE YOU?!" Cody shouted with terror, knowing who this enemy was.
However, as he ran through the city ruins, Cody tried his best to avoid the blasts of ki that came from the alien conqueror's forces. He then spotted Kay, who was cowering behind a fallen car.
"Kay!" Cody smiled with relief as he rushed in, only to be stopped what looked to be a manga panel-like barrier, one of grey, silver, and black stopping him. "Shit! KAY!"
"Cody?! Is that you?" Kay gasped upon seeing the blonde.
"Kay, you need to run. Run and try to get back to the manga shop. This place is dangerous!" He pleaded to her.
"I can't get out! This stupid thing won't let me through!" She shouted.
That's when they heard the all too familiar sound of someone quickly tearing through the sky and attacking the Frieza soldiers attacking from above.
"FRIEZA!"
The lizard alien smirked as he caught the fist of his mortal enemy, one known to his world as the legendary Super Saiyan.
"Goku!" Cody cheered.
"What's this? Where's your little friends?" Frieza scoffed as he effortlessly blocked all of the Saiyan's incoming strikes with just one hand.
"I don't need anyone's help to defeat you!" Goku snapped back.
"Then at least I can finally end you, you stupid monkey!" Frieza grinned deviously.
The two then blitzed all across Times Square, their clashes sending shockwaves across the city skyline. Meanwhile Cody tried his best to break through the barrier and rescue his friend.
"I'm going to save you, Kay! I promise I will!" Cody slammed against the barrier, trying to break it.
Then, as he bashed his hands against the barrier, that's when his hands began to glow with a golden aura. Not yet noticing this change, Cody performed one more punch to try and break through the barrier.
*CRASH!*
To his shock, he was able to break through the barrier and get to Kay. The young girl was left shocked by this sudden burst of power, as was the blonde while he stared at his hands.
"Give up, monkey. This world is all but done for." Frieza chuckled.
"I won't let you destroy another world, Frieza! Not after what you did to the others!" Goku growled, his anger rising once more.
In turn, the alien conqueror smirked while he charged up some purple energy on his pointing finger.
"You truly don't give up, do you?" Frieza chuckled viciously, "Enough talk, time to die!"
The Super Saiyan in turn glared defiantly at his long-time foe, "You should know that's just not my thing."
Frieza then fired a lazer from his finger that Goku dodged. However, Cody saw the beam was coming straight towards Kay. Thinking fast, the blonde pushed her out of the way… only to take the shot instead.
Kay reeled in horror whilst Goku was left shocked.
"CODY, NO!" She cried out.
"O~hohoho! Did I do that? Well, chalk it up to yet another blunder by you, monkey." The alien conqueror laughed.
Goku growled, throwing a punch and sending Frieza flying away. Once far enough, he flew down towards the dying human. The young man from Cody's dream, Trunks, quickly arrived, though his attire was different as he was now wearing a World War-esque black trench coat with a fur-lined collar and an olive-green sweater underneath, olive green pants with lighter-colored bandages around his shins and brown colored laced boots and brown gloves
"Trunks, thank goodness you're here." The Saiyan said.
"I got the call from mom's present self." the future warrior said as a parrot-like robot arrived with him, "Where's dad and the others?"
"They're trying to hold back the Venoms from invading this world. But that's besides the point! We have to do something, Trunks. This kid is dying and I can feel Frieza's ki coming in fast!" Goku pleaded to the future warrior.
Trunks nodded while Kay was left confused. How the heck were there Dragon Ball characters in this world?
"Jaime, run a vitals check!" Trunks said.
"Yes, sir." the robot said with a monotone voice before scanning the boy with it's optics, "Reduced lung capacity. Severe blood loss. At this rate, the odds of survival are increasingly slim."
"Wha-what?!" Kay gasped, "Can't you do something to help?"
"Yea, just give him some Ki! It worked on Frieza and most others." Goku suggested using his own to help but was stopped as he could feel Frieza approaching, "Dangit. Trunks, you try and find a way to revive him! I'll buy you some time!"
He then charged up his own ki and flew off to try and stop the alien conqueror from returning. Trunks, looking quite distraught, was left with no other option.
"Jaime, the Driver. Now!" he said.
"But sir! Your mother said we were to find the one who can save the J-Universe!" Jaime stated.
"I know the risk! But this is our only option!" Trunks snapped back as the robot nodded and materialized a weird device that had a large wheel-like centerpiece, and a separate anchor-like object that housed a card slot.
"H… huh?" Cody groaned after he finally regained consciousness.
"Good, you're awake." The Time Patroller sighed in relief.
"These… dreams are getting out… of hand…" Cody groaned out.
"Uh, Cody? I don't think this is a dream." Kay shivered in fear.
"Listen… this is the only way to save you right now… If you use this… You might not survive." Trunks informed the young man. "And if you accept this? Just know, you'll be the target of many, many enemies…. You might not have a home to go back to."
Cody looked at Kay who was still wrecked with worry and fear before going back to the future Saiyan.
"If it means she and my home can be safe? I'll risk it all…. After all, think on high, and you'll see everything coming." Cody quoted once more with a smile.
'That quote….' Trunks noted within his thoughts but shook it off. "Then by the power invested in me by the Supreme Kai of Time, I hereby deputize you into the Time Patrol." The future Saiyan said before placing the driver onto his waist, a belt strap reached around and secured itself onto him while a golden yellow and black booklet appeared on his side.
HANDOMA DRIVER!
In moments, a surge of energy and power raced through Cody as he gasped and groaned. Information began to swell within his mind as the energy covered him, even healing his wound before the energy surge shot out, reaching into the sky and drawing attention from everyone, Goku and Frieza included.
"What the?!" The alien conqueror gasped.
Then, the two heard something as a large crow-like monster with an exposed brain stomped onto the field. Cody knew what that monster was.
"A Nomu; and it's the one made to kill All Might too." The blonde called out. Trunks turned to the young boy, surprised by his knowledge.
"Trunks, can you fly Kay back to this location?" The blonde asked as he told the Time Patroller of where the comic shop was.
"You think you can take it down?" Trunks asked him.
"Yeah… I got this. Besides, this needs to stop now." He said, reaching over to the booklet as he opened it up. Inside was a row of what looked to be cards inside manga panels, but in the center was one that was glowing.
"Are you sure about this? That monster might kill you." Kay gasped.
"Come on, have some trust in me. Think on high, and you'll see everything coming." Cody told himself.
"Alright, then be careful. Those Koma Cards were only infused with their power without a catalyst. They're a one use item until we can fully ink them." Trunks informed him.
"One time is all I need, now go." Cody ordered as the future Saiyan nodded as he picked up Kay and flew off.
Now that he was alone, Cody stared down the Nomu as it snarled at him.
"I've always wondered what would happen if a Saiyan fought you instead of a pro hero? Guess I'll get my wish." Cody huffed as he took out the center card, and held it in front of him.
The card had a golden outer border and with the familiar pirate symbol behind it. As in front was the helmet of the warrior he was about to become.
"Henshin!"
Cody quickly flipped the card around to show the Jump Symbol before he inserted the card into the anchor device.
JUMP HERO JOURNEY!
He then slotted the anchor into the slot on the top of the device and then pulled it down like a lever, causing the wheel to spin before showing the Jump Pirate Logo in the center of the device.
KOMA-RIZE: JUMP HERO JOURNEY!
Several golden manga panels then appeared around him, each one having the logo of several Jump worlds on it, only for them to turn into ink as it flew out of the panels and raced around Cody, forming black bodysuit with some dotted gray gradient like that of a manga panel. Soon the ink turned gold and shifted into armor pieces before stopping only to then be attached onto the young man, giving him a set of two treasure chest-like shoulderpads, a long short-sleeved black and silver jacket adorned with the same dinosaur skull and crossbones on Cody's shirt, two armored boots that had chain-like shinguards, and finally a chestplate that had a manga panel of an eagle on it.
The panels then flew onto these colorless armor pieces, each one changing colors from orange, to yellow, to red, to white, and black before settling on a bright golden color. His helmet was that of a pirate with an 'X' on the eyepatch and a blue segmented eye on the other side with a collar and tailcoat on top, and a bird-like mouthguard.
With this change, the newly transformed warrior looked at his armor.
"Huh… why does this feel so…. 'Right'?" The armored hero noted.
The Nomu roared, catching the transformed Cody's attention. Instincts took over as he quickly reached out and summoned a special cutlass with a card scanner built into it's handguard. The reanimated corpse monster rushed at him as it went for a punch, the armored warrior dodged and cut off its arm with ease, the Japanese onomatopoeia for SLASH appearing after the slice. However the armored hero forgot for a moment about its 'Quirks' before spotting its arm regenerated in moments.
"Time to see if I was right." Cody hoped, as he took out one card from the cutlass booklet, one that showed none other than the image of Son Goku himself on the card as he removed the anchor key to swap this card with his initial card.
DRAGON BALL!
He soon slotted the card in and with the pull of the lever, the wheel spun as the symbol of the four-star Dragon Ball soon formed in the center. In moments the pieces of armor shot out and spun around changing into orange before the orange ink filled around him before creating a set of armor that included not only the white shoulderless armor with yellow plates of the typical Saiyan armor, but also the vibrant orange wristbands, pants, and blue kung fu shoes reminiscent of the Turtle School gi. His helmet also changed as the pirate hat was now replaced by a set of black metallic hair akin to Goku's famous Super Saiyan hairstyle.
KOMA-RIZE: DRAGON BALL!
Then, all of a sudden, a huge burst of power akin to the Saiyans' ki emerged. Cody soon felt several information, moves, techniques and power from the card as he had now gained everything Goku himself had learned.
"Woah, this feels amazing!" the armored hero cheered.
The Nomu roared as it charged at him, only to throw a punch yet…. It did nothing to the changed armored hero, surprising them both.
"Figured this would be the 'Power' form." Cody chuckled, looking up at the Nomu and with a reeled back fist, punched the lab experiment monster into a nearby building. However rather than splattering into chunks, it instead just became an ink stain on the wall with zero damage. It was like that Nomu was more of a water balloon full of ink than a real monster.
"Huh, strange." Cody observed.
But as soon as he was ready to jump back into the fight, the orange gi of Goku faded into grey and black, only to revert him back to his first form. Confused, he took out the card from the anchor as it too faded into grey and black coloring as Goku's face disappeared.
"Seems like he was right… One use for now." Cody grimaced as he felt terrible for letting his childhood manga fade before him.
But that had to wait, more screams of people earned his attention as he knew he had to keep fighting a bit longer.
'Time to be a hero…' Cody said within his thoughts before running off to help the next person.
He quickly spotted several dog-like monsters with soulless eyes hunting down people. Cody quickly noticed what those creatures are.
'Blackhound Legendz, and they don't seem to have any users attached to them.' he observed
When the creatures quickly caught wind of the armored hero's scent, Cody quickly smirked.
'Then let's counter a spirit with a spirit!' he mentally thought before drawing his next card.
SHAMAN KING!
After pulling the lever, the symbol of the Shaman King, the Asakura family crest, emerged. As the armor pieces flew off, they briefly a type of Crimson Red with flowers adorning it before transforming into a set of large shoulderpads, his jacket transforming into that of a large white cloak, and finally a set of crimson red samurai gauntlets and boots. The helmet quickly transformed to what looked to be a katana handle as a 'ponytail' as ethereal swords formed in his hands.
KOMA-RIZE: SHAMAN KING!
After summoning back his sword and engulfing it in the same energy from an Oversoul, Cody taunted the Blackhounds into attacking them. The hellhound monsters obliged as they all jumped the armored hero at once. But that was their biggest mistake as he quickly sliced through the Blackhounds with a powerful spirit-charged slash, creating the SLASH onomatopoeia once again and left them ink splatters on the streets.
OVERSOUL CLEAVE!
'More ink, just like the Nomu…' he observed before the anchor key popped out and the power of Amidamaru left the card.
"Just how long can I even use these powers before they all fade from me?" Cody questioned as he turned to the next opponent to face; having heard it land right behind him.
None other than a winged dragon with scales as black as the current night sky and piercing red eyes, the Red-Eyes Black Dragon.
"Yipe!" Cody gasped as he quickly fled before he dodged an incoming ball of dark energy fired his way. "Okay, you need a timeout buster!"
He then drew his next card and slotted it right into the anchor key, dodging yet another infernal blast from the rogue Duel Monsters Spirit.
CHAINSAW MAN!
With the pull of the lever and spin of the wheel, the image of a chainsaw now appeared in the center.
KOMA-RIZE: CHAINSAW MAN!
As the panels and ink began to fly off and surge, blood red ink, as deep as blood itself flowed out and strapped to the hero as the panels into large spiked shoulderpads, a metallic chestplate, and robotic boots. Two large chainsaws formed from his forearms and hands, with the shins gaining the chainblades as the helmet gained the robotic, yet demonic cowl of Chainsaw Man himself as the last chainsaw extended from his forehead, finishing the change as a red energy scarf formed around his neck.
With his transformation complete, the transformed Cody let out a blood, curling roar and lunged at the ace monster of Joey Wheeler, hacking and slashing it to pieces with the onomatopoeia of SLASH and VROOM appearing with each wild strike. Chunks of the monster fell off and splattered into ink on the ground before the rest of the body came crashing down until it too turned into ink, leaving the armored hero panting as this form change ended just as swiftly as he used it.
Cody took out the booklet and saw nearly every card in it, losing its respected figure and power, with the only cards remaining being those connected to his only current form.
That was when a massive gong rang out as time seemingly stopped, the world apart from himself losing it's color. That was when he heard a voice call out to him. One that he did not recognize.
This world's time has not yet come, Kamen Rider
"Wait what?!" Cody shouted to the voice, demanding an answer.
To his surprise, a rather short and petite woman with pinkish-red hair, pink/purple skin and black eyes appeared out of nowhere. Her attire, as Cody could tell, lined up with those of the Supreme Kais of the Dragon Ball universe, Glonds as he recalled. That being a dark slate-gray crop top under a purple and yellow coat, white arm warmers, a yellow sash, purple pants and white high-heeled boots, as well as the telltale yellow Potara earrings on her elf-like ears.
"Hello~!" she cheerfully greeted him.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"Geez, did you forget already?" The girl rolled her eyes at him.
"Hm… you look like a Supreme Kai. Don't tell me you're related to 'Mr. Useless'."
"I am!" the girl yelled in his ears, "I'm the Supreme Kai of Time! But please, call me Chorona." She playfully winked.
"Supreme Kai… of Time?" the armored hero asked.
"Yep, normally I manage the flow of time around Dragon World, but recently there have been several attacks from the Venoms that's caused many worlds in the J-Universe to go awry. Hence why I decided to put my hope into someone to save the J-Universe." she explained.
"What kind of sense does that make?" the armored hero asked, "Wait, that's besides the point. What do you mean by this world's time hasn't come? Can I… Can I save my world?"
"Pretty much." she noted before snapping her fingers, that's when his mind began to flash with images. Images of a vast space where countless worlds filled with different images.
'Wha… what was that image?' he thought.
"Let me give the cliffnotes on this." Chronoa explained, "In 25 worlds, 25 stories have been told. They were independent, separate stories. But now, the stories are being combined against their will by a being known as the Overseer."
Overseer, that name rang a bell to Cody as he recalled that strange dream.
"That's why the worlds are becoming one. Eventually, all worlds will be forcibly merged into one… and they will not survive the merge." Chronoa finished.
"25…" he then brought out the cards that lost their power, "And how can I get them to trust me and give me their powers again?"
"That is something only you can do." she said, crossing her arms.
"How will I even be able to go there? It's not like Earth can travel past our galaxy ring." Cody asked.
"Oh you'll find a way." Chorona hummed.
"Still, why have Trunks deputize me? I'm just a random kid from Manhattan?" the armored hero asked.
"Because this is not only your destiny, but your inheritance." the Supreme Kai of Time said as light began to shine, forcing Cody to cover his eyes to protect them.
When he lowered his arm, he found that not only had his transformation been cancelled, but also now in his room back at the comic shop, with the Kai nowhere in sight. What's more, the shop seemed to still retain it's color in comparison to the rest of the world.
"I'm… home?" He looked around, but as he looked outside, the world was still in stasis and most of it lost color.
Until your journey ends, I'll try and keep this world alive for a bit longer.
"But you can't just fight there all on your own!" He shouted to her with worry, but no answer came after that.
He then rushed downstairs and saw Trunks arrive with Kay in tow. The future warrior then collapsed onto one knee while the young girl tried to catch her breath. Morgan, seeing that his granddaughter was okay, rushed to hug her.
"Thank goodness you're safe!"
"W-We have to go back! Cody is still out there!" Kay said, about to head back out.
That was until she finally noticed Cody's presence and rushed to his side. She was left shocked, how did he somehow reach home so fast.
"I-wha-but, I…" she stammered repeatedly.
"Yeah, it's a long story." the newly christened Kamen Rider admitted.
After a while…
"So, you're supposed to save the world. Right?" Kay asked after taking in what Chronoa had told Cody.
"Yes… its the only way to save ours." Cody nodded, "Twenty five worlds, eh? That's one heck of a journey."
"It'll be a long one, but it needs to be done." Trunks argued, "The Venoms have ravaged the J-Universe, and potentially might end up destroying it."
He then noticed the copy of Jump Hero Journey on the counter and mindlessly flipped through it's pages yet saw only one page, and it recounted what had just happened with the rest blank.
He then closed the manga… only to find the cover had changed.
"One Piece?" Kay questioned as he examined the new cover, showing Monkey D. Luffy, putting on his hat as the shadows of it covered most of his face. Behind him was none other than Arlong as further back showed Nami crying as well as a silhouette of the armor he just wore standing behind her and the rest of the Straw Hats.
When he walked out, Cody had found himself in what seemed to be a tropical town with a few buildings that had green, red, and orange roofs. The path was that of a dirt path, a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of New York that he was so used to.
Cody then looked down and found that he wasn't in his regular attire anymore. He was in what looked to be the Marine Uniform, a simple sleeveless white vest, navy blue pants, brown shoes, a blue ascot, and a hat that read Marine. Even the comic shop had also changed to fit similarly to the other houses, but still had the sign out front that read, 'Comic Cafe Worldwide' on it.
"Huh, didn't expect that house to be flipped back up so soon." Cody quickly turned around to find himself face to face with a young woman five years older than him with light blue hair and eyes, tanned skin, and her right arm and chest heavily tattooed, a beige sleeveless shirt, blue trousers and purple sandals
"So… what brings a young Marine lad like you out here?" The woman asked with a toothpick in her mouth, eyeing him.
That's when Cody looked back at the manga in his hand. Suddenly he realized why this manga always seemed to change its story every week. It was what allowed him, and will continue to allow him and his friends to travel to other worlds.
Meanwhile, a medium-sized caravel with a sheep figurehead moored on the shores. From there, a young girl with short orange hair wearing a light green top with dark green spots, black shorts, and sandals got off the ship as she was left with her fists shaking.
She was here to pay a debt. She was here, for Arlong…

/PRELUDE/
As the current scene turns into a manga panel, the page began to slowly turn until it stopped at a page that showcases Cody standing in a white void.
/Mekurumeku mugen no toki watatte tatakai no TONNERU kuguru tabi
Onsoku de soumatou no akari ga meguru yo/
Cody soon begins to walk forward, causing some paint splotches to appear with each step he takes. He takes in how lifeless the place is as he tries to press forward.
/Ushinatta mono bakari wo kazoete kuyashi garu kokoro no katasumi de
Te wo nobashi nakitai hodo motomete iru kimi no Bright smile/
He then notices Kay, Trunks, Jaime, and Morgan join his side, their steps bringing more color to the void.
/Tasogare no sora mite michibiita kotae
All right kibou nara te no naka ni aru/
As the color returns, visions of worlds colliding and life being lost, flash in front of him. Villains of the Jump Universe snicker and cackle with delight as they seem to try to overpower the young Rider to have him lose.
/Kowareochite yuku toki no naka de RIARU na itami ni
Yume to (ai to) shitsui (akui) naimaze ni naru keredo/
But a soft hug from Kay soon begins to breath more life before the heroes of Jump appear, their powers fusing into one as Cody takes up the Handoma Driver and changes into his Kamen Rider Jump form.

The scene ends with the group looking up at the sky before the manga closes to showcase 25 inert symbols as the camera zooms back to show that the manga is resting on Cody's desk.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
HackerEX: Looks like we got a new fic from us in 2025, and a monthly one too!
striberx: This idea was something Hacker here thought of and I felt like it'd be a fun idea to do! So here we are with this one. And yes, each upload we'll try to do every month. Doing it weekly just felt like too much work for us both.
HackerEX: It also means that we got plenty of time for us to adjust the chapters when need be too. But regardless, this is basically our take on the classic "Decade SI walks into anime worlds mixed with Rider series" story, though more focus on the anime than Rider. Hence why this is an OC rather than simply Decade or Legend. Also yes, we are adding in elements from Jump Force into this story. The game may be bad, but not all of it is terrible.
Striberx: Yup, and we chose 25 worlds so that 1: this story isn't over inflated with so many Jump Ips, but also 2: to at least give a good enough length for it all. Sadly some of my personal favs, Symphogear and FT, aren't in this as they aren't Jump affiliated.
HackerEX: Which is not exactly a surprising blunder as I've seen people ask for stuff like Fairy Tail content in Jump Force. No offense of course. But as you can tell with stuff like Kaiju No. 8, Chainsaw Man, and One Punch Man, we're also including some light reps from Shueisha's other Jump magazines
Striberx: Yeah, we have to go only in the Jump imprint, tho this does include other Jump issues, like Jump, Young Jump and others. So be prepared for all of the manga IPs that'll be included here, but we can't show every single one just yet.
HackerEX: Starting with our first two-part tribute arc paying tribute to the series that's basically synonyms with Jump
Striberx: One Piece is indeed the first choice/world to go to cause 1: It's STILL ongoing for them, and Jump's biggest IP. and 2: as well as probs the easiest to implement this early.
HackerEX: And we're currently in the Elbaf arc at the time of writing this, so we had to choose a part in the story to use as our anchorpoint. Lucky enough that Arlong Park serves as a good starting point for Cody and crew
Striberx: Yup, we're choosing specific spots, timepoints and some of the most iconic moments of each of these series for each representation. BUT that doesn't mean only that as their power. As shown by Goku? It's ALL of the history in the said form cards.
HackerEX: Also, surprise! OC love interest. Yeah, due to the nature of the Jump Worlds, Striber and I agreed that having another character from these worlds come in as the Natsumi to Cody's Tsukasa wasn't going to cut it. We had to make a new character.
Striberx: Yup, but unlike Natsumi who basically becomes a Kiva-esc rider? She will indeed get her own Rider form later based on what we have so far. But can't tell ya when or what choices she'll have just yet.
HackerEX: Anyways, next time we begin the One Piece arc with Nojiko filling Cody and co in on what's going on, and the first encounter with the Venoms.
Until then, see ya!
