Hagaromo, the Sage of Six Paths, reflected on the epic battle against his mother, Kaguya, a tyrannical force whose reign had wreaked havoc upon the land. The conflict had left the world scarred, and Hagaromo dedicated years to its restoration. During this period, he inadvertently gathered a group of followers with whom he shared his chakra. This act, he believed, would foster connection and understanding among people. Thus, he coined the term "Ninshu," the ninja creed, a philosophy centered around sharing and peace. He hoped that these teachings would bring harmony to the war-torn world.
Once the land was healed, Hagaromo encouraged his disciples to embark on their own journeys. Half ventured out to spread Ninshu and gather their own followers, while the remaining chose to stay with Hagaromo, establishing a temple and a small settlement.
Years passed, and Hagaromo welcomed three children into his life: Indra, the eldest, Asura, the middle child, and Kimura, the youngest.
Indra, a prodigy, quickly grasped his father's teachings, mastering Ninshu with remarkable ease. He was a serious child with long, spiky brown hair tied back with bandages and piercing black eyes accented by purple markings. Two distinct dots adorned his forehead, a striking feature. Indra dressed in the traditional white robes of a monk.
Asura, in contrast, was an outgoing and carefree child. He found training less appealing than playing with the other children. Unlike his brother, Asura struggled with Ninshu. He possessed spiky brown hair and an appearance more akin to an ordinary child. He too wore the white monk robes.
Kimura, the youngest, stood out distinctly from her brothers. Her long, flowing red hair cascaded down her waist, framing eyes that shimmered with a bright, almost glowing purple. Her skin had a slight tan, and she wore the female version of the monk robes. While not as naturally gifted as Indra, Kimura possessed an unexpected intelligence and an unwavering work ethic. She dedicated herself to rigorous training and study, tirelessly striving to bridge the gap between herself and her elder brother. Despite her fiery temper and feisty nature, Kimura deeply loved her family and would fiercely protect them.
Indra, Asura, and Kimura, aged 10, 9, and 7 respectively, were engaged in their studies. While Asura blissfully slumbered, Indra and Kimura delved into their own unique pursuits.
Kimura, observing Indra's intricate hand movements, curiously inquired, "Hey Indra, what are you doing with your hands?"
Indra, a touch embarrassed by the attention, explained, "I have a theory. I believe that different hand gestures, when performed in specific sequences while channeling chakra, can produce varying results."
Kimura's eyes widened in fascination. "Wow, brother, you really are a genius!"
Indra blushed slightly. "Not at all, little sister. It's just the result of diligent study." He then turned his attention to Kimura, noticing her focused practice of calligraphy. "What are you working on?"
Kimura, mirroring Indra's earlier words, explained, "Like you, I have a theory. I believe that by channeling chakra through different written kanji, I can achieve unique effects. So, I'm currently perfecting my handwriting."
Indra was equally impressed. "Wow, sis, you called me a genius, but you're a genius too!"
Kimura blushed again. "Not at all, brother. I simply work twice as hard as anyone else."
Indra chuckled. "That's true. You're always the last one to stop training or studying."
Kimura nodded in agreement. "I believe hard work will always overcome natural talent."
Indra, acknowledging her dedication, decided to call it a night. He gently carried the sleeping Asura and turned to Kimura. "Goodnight, sis. Don't stay up too late. We have training with Father tomorrow."
Kimura waved him off with a nod, eager to continue her own studies.
Kimura continued her calligraphy practice until she felt a sense of satisfaction. Standing up, she walked to a shelf overflowing with books, her curiosity piqued. Unlike Indra, who focused solely on Ninshu studies and training, Kimura possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge, eager to explore all facets of the world.
Browsing through the diverse collection, her eyes landed on a book on blacksmithing. A thought sparked within her: "If I learn this, I can help the other monks by creating tools that make farming easier."
Intrigued, she delved into the book, quickly becoming engrossed in the subject. She learned that blacksmiths not only forged tools and weapons but also crafted various types of armor. As she read, she diligently took notes, jotting down her own theories and innovative ideas.
Two hours later, she decided to call it a night, eager to ensure she was well-rested for her father's training the following day.
The morning sun shone brightly upon the group of monks lined up, prepared for Hagoromo's rigorous training session. In the front row stood his three children: Indra, Asura, and Kimura. Training always began with physical conditioning and martial arts, a discipline not yet known as "Taijutsu."
Observing his children, Hagoromo couldn't help but notice Kimura's exceptional stamina and endurance.
Flashback*
Hagoromo gazed down at his newborn daughter, a wave of disbelief washing over him. Using his Rinnegan, he examined her chakra, an unsettling alarm flooding his senses. Never before had he witnessed such a potent concentration of chakra in a newborn. Concerned, he immediately consulted a medical specialist.
The examination revealed that Kimura was perfectly healthy, but the doctor did express concerns about potential hyperactivity and even ADHD, attributing it to the overwhelming amount of chakra within her small frame. Hagoromo accepted this explanation, understanding that such a powerful energy source within a developing body could lead to excess energy.
However, an unexpected phenomenon occurred one night. While enjoying a quiet evening with a cup of tea, Hagoromo was startled by a sudden surge of chakra emanating from his children's room. Fearful for their safety, he rushed to their room, only to find Kimura peacefully sleeping. But it wasn't her sleep that surprised him. Midnight blue chakra was visibly leaking from her body like smoke. Knowing the dangers of extreme chakra depletion, he immediately scooped her up and raced towards the doctor's residence, frantically banging on the door.
The doctor, seeing Hagoromo's panicked expression and the chakra emanating from Kimura, quickly ushered them inside. After a thorough examination, the doctor declared, "She's fine, no need to worry."
Relief washed over Hagoromo. "But," the doctor continued, "there's a reason for this."
Hagoromo's expression turned serious. "What is it?"
"Your daughter possesses an excess of chakra for her small body to contain," the doctor explained. "Her body is naturally releasing the excess while she sleeps."
Hagoromo observed his daughter, still emitting the dark blue chakra. "How long will this continue?" he inquired.
The doctor rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I'm not certain, as I've never encountered such a phenomenon before. But I would estimate it will subside as she grows and her body matures to accommodate the immense energy."
Hagoromo then posed another question, "Why is her chakra this dark blue? Chakra is typically light blue in color."
The doctor turned to look at the sleeping infant. "Not only does she possess an extraordinary amount of chakra, but it's also incredibly dense and potent. The dark color is a direct result of this density."
Hagoromo remained silent for a moment, a profound realization dawning upon him. "Kimura," he whispered, "you will be very special in the future."
Flashback End*
"Perhaps it's her chakra that accounts for her incredible stamina," Hagoromo mused to himself. Kimura consistently outperformed everyone in terms of endurance and training duration.
After the conditioning exercises, Hagoromo paired the students for martial arts training. Indra, recognizing Kimura's strength, insisted on sparring with her, acknowledging that she was the only one who could truly challenge him. Asura was paired with another student.
Kimura and Indra assumed their stances, ready for combat. "BEGIN!"
Kimura, the quicker of the two, launched the first attack, a right hook aimed at Indra's chin. He blocked it with ease and retaliated with a powerful roundhouse kick. Kimura blocked the kick but stumbled slightly, Indra's size and strength giving him an advantage. Sensing an opening, Indra struck with a swift jab, momentarily stunning Kimura. She quickly retreated to regain her distance.
This time, Indra initiated the attack. He rushed forward, throwing a punch towards her midsection. Kimura, agile and graceful, spun out of the way and countered with a spinning kick, connecting solidly with Indra's lower back. He stumbled forward, and Kimura seized the opportunity, rushing towards him. However, she wasn't prepared for the mule kick that landed squarely on her stomach. She flew back a few feet, landing on her back.
As she struggled to rise, she saw Indra's fist hovering inches from her face. He grinned smugly, "I win again, Kimura."
Kimura pouted playfully, "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
He offered her a hand, helping her to her feet. "Don't be discouraged," Indra said, "You're incredibly strong. You're the only one who truly pushes me to my limits."
Kimura smiled. "I guess so, brother."
With the physical training complete, it was time for chakra training. Hagoromo instructed the monks to practice chakra control while he took his children to a secluded area for personal instruction. Having already mastered tree and water walking, they were now ready to discover their elemental affinities.
Hagoromo utilized his Rinnegan to peer deep within his children's chakra. Examining Indra first, he declared, "Indra, you possess a strong affinity for both fire and lightning." Indra simply nodded in response.
Turning to Asura, Hagoromo announced, "And you have a very strong affinity for wind." Asura beamed with delight, nodding enthusiastically.
When Hagoromo turned his attention to Kimura, his eyes strained. Peering into her chakra was like staring directly at the sun, the intensity overwhelming. "Arrgg!" he groaned, deactivating his Rinnegan.
His children immediately voiced their concern, "Father!"
Hagoromo waved them off, assuring them he was fine. "Kimura," he finally said, "you possess an unnaturally strong affinity for wind, water, and lightning."
Both Indra and Asura were visibly surprised and slightly envious. Kimura, however, was speechless, stunned by the revelation.
After announcing their elemental affinities, Hagoromo concluded the training session, promising to instruct them on how to channel their respective elements in the next session.
Asura, brimming with excitement, ran off to play with his friends. "See you guys later!" he called out.
Kimura waved goodbye to her brothers, a thoughtful expression on her face. "I'm going to go study," she said, turning towards her study.
As Kimura walked toward her study, she kept replaying her losses to her older brother in her mind. He was significantly stronger, and his blows landed with greater force than hers. She remembered blocking his kick, yet she still stumbled, leaving herself vulnerable. Even when she landed a clean kick to his back, it only pushed him forward, causing minimal damage. After analyzing these past fights, she reached a conclusion: the martial arts style they were learning simply wasn't suited for her.
Determined to find a better approach, she decided to create her own fighting style. To do this, she needed to identify her strengths and weaknesses. She entered her study, gathered a brush, ink, and a black scroll, and began to write:
Weaknesses*
Not very strong
Small stature
Difficulty blocking hits from stronger opponents
Strengths*
Naturally fast
Flexible and agile
With her strengths and weaknesses listed, she began to contemplate how to create a fighting style that capitalized on her advantages while mitigating her weaknesses. Meditation helped to calm her mind and allowed for deeper contemplation.
First, she needed a style that could fully utilize her natural speed and flexibility. These attributes would enable her to dodge attacks with grace and execute swift, unpredictable maneuvers.
Second, she needed to develop a strategy to inflict significant damage. She realized that her punches and kicks lacked the necessary impact. Her solution? To incorporate knees and elbows into her fighting style. These were the hardest and sharpest points of the body, capable of delivering devastating blows. To maximize this, she would need to study the human body extensively, identifying all the vulnerable pressure points and soft areas.
Thirdly, she needed to address her defensive shortcomings. Relying solely on blocking powerful strikes had proven ineffective. She needed to incorporate more sophisticated defensive maneuvers, such as dodging, parrying, and redirecting attacks instead of directly confronting them.
With the basic framework of her unique fighting style outlined, she was eager to begin the arduous task of bringing her vision to life.
Kimura also focused on honing her elemental abilities. She began with water manipulation, believing it had the most practical applications, such as assisting with farming and medical procedures. However, while she recognized the importance of her elemental training, her primary focus remained on perfecting her martial arts."
Over time, she conducted extensive research on the human body, identifying sensitive and vulnerable areas. She discovered that the creases in the knees and elbows were particularly sensitive, causing significant pain upon impact. Similarly, strikes to the neck could inflict serious damage. She learned that attacking vital organs like the kidneys and liver could induce shock and incapacitate an opponent.
This led to a crucial realization: she needed to diversify her attack strategy beyond headshots for quick knockouts. She focused on attacking the body to induce fatigue, such as targeting the opponent's torso to cause them to become winded, or consistently striking their legs to disrupt their footwork and slow them down.
Concurrently, she intensified her training to improve her reaction time, enabling her to swiftly dodge incoming attacks. During this period, she also neared completion of her exercises for all three of her elements: wind, water, and lightning."
Months later, Kimura could be found in the woods, relentlessly striking a wooden post with kicks, punches, knees, and elbows. Others wondered at her unusual training method, unaware that she was conditioning her bones to become stronger and more resilient. She had read that repeatedly striking hard surfaces forced the bones to adapt, increasing their density and making them less susceptible to fractures.
Kimura kept her true intentions a secret, eager to surprise everyone when she finally unveiled her perfected fighting style. Indra, her sparring partner, was increasingly confused. Kimura had stopped attacking during their spars, focusing solely on defense. When he inquired about this change, she simply replied, "I'm trying out a new type of training."
This was partially true. She was using these sparring sessions not only to gain valuable combat experience but also to rigorously train her reflexes. By consistently evading Indra's attacks, her reaction time significantly improved. While she continued her studies, her primary focus shifted towards honing her unique martial arts style."
A year had passed since Kimura began developing her unique martial arts style. Feeling confident in her progress, she finally decided to showcase her skills against Indra. Standing across from him, a nervous excitement trembled within her. Indra sensed something different about Kimura, but he chose to ignore it.
"BEGIN!"
They charged. Indra attempted a jab to her midsection, but Kimura redirected it with a swift movement. He followed up with a high kick, which Kimura easily ducked under. While crouching, she swiftly attacked the back of Indra's planted leg, causing him to stumble. Indra was surprised by her aggression, having expected her to remain purely defensive as she had been doing recently. He felt a sharp pain in his knee and looked up at her with surprise. A smug grin played on Kimura's lips.
He regained his stance, reevaluating his opponent. He charged again, aiming a left hook. Kimura dodged, countering with a hard kick to his lead leg. She then closed the distance, delivering a sharp knee to his side. Indra winced, retreating slightly. Kimura noticed the pain in his eyes and knew her attack had connected.
This time, she initiated the attack, throwing a swift jab-hook combination. Indra blocked, but as he was momentarily distracted, she delivered a devastating double-leg kick to the same leg she had targeted earlier. Indra stumbled, and she seized the opportunity, attacking him with a powerful spinning elbow that struck his sternum, knocking the wind out of him.
Stunned, he could only watch as she continued to attack his injured leg. Indra finally understood her strategy: she was systematically weakening him by targeting his legs and exploiting vulnerable areas of his body.
"I see now," Indra muttered, "You're gradually slowing me down by targeting my legs and focusing on inflicting pain in specific areas." A grudging smile spread across his face. He was proud of his sister.
He tried to charge, but the pain in his leg was excruciating. Kimura feinted a leg kick, causing Indra to instinctively defend, unaware that it was a feint. This left him momentarily vulnerable, and Kimura seized the opportunity, delivering a devastating blow to his liver.
Indra initially felt nothing, but within seconds, a wave of excruciating pain surged through his body, causing him to collapse to his knees. He gasped for air, clutching his side in agony. He couldn't understand why his body was shutting down.
Kimura had finally surpassed him. She offered him a hand, which he gratefully accepted. "What was that?" Indra asked, bewildered.
"I attacked your liver," she explained. "It's a vital organ, and a well-placed strike can cause the body to shut down." She added, "Over the past year, I've dedicated myself to developing a fighting style that suits my strengths. This is the result."
Indra was astonished. His sister had created an entirely new fighting style from scratch? It was truly remarkable. "Well," he said with a smile, "I guess I have some serious training to do. I can't let my little sister outshine me."
They both shared a laugh, acknowledging the intensity of their training session. As they walked back home, Indra knew that things were about to get very interesting indeed.
Hagoromo watched the spar between Indra and Kimura closely, a mixture of surprise and pride evident on his face. "So, she created a style that suits her, huh?" he mused. "From what I've observed, it relies heavily on speed, flexibility, and unpredictability. She utilizes not only punches and kicks but also elbows and knees – an approach I've never witnessed before. Furthermore, she strategically targets the body's soft spots to inflict intense pain. And of course, her relentless attacks on Indra's leg demonstrated her understanding of wearing down an opponent over time." He smiled approvingly. "It seems she's developed a style perfectly suited to her strengths. If she continues to refine it, this fighting style will become incredibly dangerous."
As time progressed, Kimura continued to refine her martial arts style, gradually pulling further ahead of Indra in their sparring matches. Her victories became more frequent, and Indra found himself struggling to keep up. Their roles seemed to have reversed, with Kimura now dominating their encounters. This shift in their dynamic fueled a growing competitiveness within Indra, driving him to train harder and harder, determined to reclaim his dominance.
However, an unexpected change was on the horizon.
