Chapter 1: The Beginning Of Paldea

This is an Ash Ketchum story on his adventures of Paldea and Hisui regions. This'll be fun. Also, I have to address some characters and ages that'll be in this story.

Ash: Age 18

Liko: Age 16

Roy: Age 15

Dot: Age 17

I hope you'll enjoy this story. No, this isn't based on Pokémon Journeys, it's an Alternate Universe fanfic. But if you have any questions, feel free to ask them.

At night at the Crystal Pool.

A teenage boy who's a Pokémon Trainer is running towards a girl with a pendant, along with other teenage Pokémon Trainers.

"It's over Liko!", the teenage boy said.

Liko looked at the teenage boy and the others with a evil grin.

"Well, well, well. Arven, Penny, and Nemona. You figured out my plan."

"Indeed we did", said Arven who is prepared while bringing a pokeball.

Liko looks at Arven with annoyance.

"You think you can win this fight? The only reason why I'm doing this because I need Legendary Pokémon to become a Pokémon Master.", Liko explained.

"Well that's just not going to happen!", said Penny. "You may think you're going to collect a Legendary Pokémon. But you won't. Not this time."

Liko makes a mischievous grin and chuckles. She brings out Terapagos out of a pokeball.

Nemona gasped in suprise. "Oh my gosh! It's Terapagos! You already caught a legendary?!"

"Indeed. My second one will be even more dazzling." She puts her hands together. "Ever heard of the Alola Region?"

"What are you getting at?!", said Arven in an angered tone.

"You'll see..."

"I DON'T THINK SO! Mabostiff, let's go!"

"MA-MABO!"

Arven sends out his Mabostiff.

"Let us help!", said Nemona.

Nemona and Penny were about to step up, but Arven sends his hand out for the two of the girls to stand back.

"No. I got this. I don't know what card she has on her sleeve, but whatever it is, it's not good"

Nemona gives a serious look to Arven. "But you can't battle by yourself! She looks like a very powerful Pokémon Trainer!"

"I know that", Arven assures her. "But she got away with it once behind our backs when it came to Terapagos. I'm not about to let her do the same with another"

Penny starts speaking logic to Arven. "She's going to get away with catching another legendary either way. She's clever."

"She won't be when I can save those legendaries."

Liko scoffed. "Eh. Very well. Terapgos, Go!"

Terapagos steps up at prepares for battle.

"Tera! Terapago!!!"

Terapagos goes into its Terastal Form.

"Woah! I didn't know Terapagos can do that!", said Nemona who was astonished by Terapagos's transformation.

"Terapagos is part of my parents research of Area Zero", Arven stated. "Liko got lucky and caught it out of nowhere, along with claiming that pendant."

"Because I'm the chosen one! Thank my grandmother for that.", Liko said with a prideful smile.

"AND YOU RUINED THE RESEARCH WITHOUT ASKING US!!!", Arven yelled. "You're the reason you need to be stopped!!! Your hiding things from people!!! But no more! You're telling us your plan, and we will do everything in our power to defeat you."

"Very well." Liko starts first. "Terapagos. Use Tera Starstorm."

"Tera-Tera Terapa!"

Terapagos fires it star particles at Mabostiff.

"Dodge it and use Psychic Fangs!"

"Mabostiff! Mabo-stiff!!!"

Mabostiff runs and then somersault flips through the Tera Starstorms only to land and bite Terapagos with Psychich Fangs.

Terapagos steps back and staggers a bit. Liko was impressed by Arven's strategy. "Let's see if you can dodge this. Use, Tri-Attack!"

"Tera-pa-gos!"

Terapagos fires electric, fire, and ice particles at Mabostiff. Mabostiff tries to dodge them but gets hit by the electric particle. This causes Mabostiff to be paralyzed.

"MAH-BO...OH!"

"Mabostiff! No!"

Mabostiff winces in pain. It can barely move.

Liko smirks.

"Ready to give up yet?"

Arven grips his hand into a fist. "No. I will not let this happen! NOT AGAIN! USE PLAY ROUGH!"

"MMMAAAAABBBOOOOO...!"

Mabostiff tries to withstand the paralysis and jumps at Terapagos to attack him with Play Rough. But something jumps in the way with a Moonblast, which hits Mabostiff, causing it to faint.

"STI— Ma...!"

Arven's eyes saw this and his eyes widened. "Mabostiff!!!"

Liko was confused and a bit startled and what did that. She turns around and looks up at a mysterious Pokémon.

It turned out be Lunala. Liko kneels to Lunala and praises it. "Yes! The legendary I'm collecting next... you, Lunala, are what I have been waiting for."

Penny and Nemona don't have any words for what they are staring at. They stare at Lunala in awe.

Arven is stunned to see Lunala and how it attack his Mabostiff out of nowhere. "Ma-mabostiff! Re-turn!" He barely tries to speak and his body is shaking and is also getting goosebumps. He seems to be traumatized. "Tha-thats...! That's what your a--after?!"

Liko puts her hands on her hips and raises her eyebrow thinking that Arven looks stupid for asking that question. "Of course. What? You weren't paying attention when I said it would be something dazzling?" She walks back and fourth with her hands behind her back. "I'm not going to be the weakling of Naranja and Blueberry Academy. I'm catching six legendaries and claiming them as my Six Heroes Team, just like my grandmother did for hers, and becoming a Pokémon Master, and there's nothing you can do about it."

Arven couldn't believe what he was hearing. He wanted to fight Lunala with another one of his Pokémon, but Lunala looked extremely dangerous.

"Arven, we have to leave! NOW!!! That thing looks like it'll incinerate us!", Penny tells Arven while freaking out.

Arven was to hesitant to move. "B-but...! We-we can't just...!"

Nemona had enough of this. She grabs Arven, turns him around and puts her hands on her shoulders, and shakes him. "Arven! Now!!! That thing is not worth it!!! Now come on!" She grabs his hand afterwards.

The three run like heck. Liko and Terapagos just stand there alongside with Lunala.

Lunala looks down at Liko and cocks its head and smiles. Liko was curious as to why Lunala saved her Terapagos.

"But why? Why would you save my Terapagos?"

"Tera-Tera?"

Even Terapagos was confused.

Lunala gently leans towards Liko and rubs its forehead Liko's forehead. Its telling her she's worthy of catching it. Lunala levitates backwards giving Liko space after that.

"Oh. I see. You want to help me. So you want me to catch you?"

Lunala nodded its head and then speaks to Liko.

"Nargh. Narla-Lunar."

Liko smiles with joy. She finally gets to collect a second legendary. "Alright then! Here I go!" She takes out a Moon Ball and throws it at Lunala. The Moon Ball rolls three times. A sparkle blinks on the ball.

Liko and Terapagos jumped up with excitement.

" I did it! I caught Lunala!!!"

"TERA!!"

"Two down. Four to go. I will show everyone that I can be a powerful Pokémon Master once and for all. And those who have laughed at me will pay...", Liko says in a dark tone.

Liko holds the Moon Ball with town hands leaning closer to it. "Now if only I gave Lunala a name. Oh. I know. How about Moon?"

Terapagos was jumping with excitement. He agrees with that nickname for Lunala.

Liko snickered and kept rotating the Moon Ball around with her fingers. "Moon it is then." She starts talking to Moon inside the pokeball. "Well, this is the start of a friendship. Not just a wholesome friendship, but a sign of vengeance. Hehehehe...! You and I will be unstoppable. No one will stand in our way. Now, it's time I show you to my little friends back home, Moon."

What a beautiful day at the Kanto Region. Ash Ketchum and Pikachu are relaxing for the day after completing the Masters 8 Tournament in Galar 8 years ago. They are out on a stroll through a pathway.

"Wow, Pikachu. It's been years since we won the battle against Champion Leon huh?" Ash yawns and puts his hands behind his back. "Yep, I totally am the Pokémon Master for sure.

Pikachu nods his head happily.

"Pika-Pika!"

Ash's Rotom Phone is ringing and he answers it. It was Professor Oak calling. "Hello, Ash. It's Professor Oak and I need you at my lab now! I have important news for you and your mother!", Professor Oak demanded excitedly.

"I'm on my way!" Ash hangs up the Rotom Phone. "Ready to go, Pikachu?"

"Pika-Pikachu!" Pikachu is prepared.

They both rush to Professor Oak's lab. Professor Oak and Ash's mother, Delia, are waiting for him.

"He should be here any minute", said Delia.

Professor Oak had a bit of doubts, but was sure of it. "I hope so. That boy is late sometimes."

Ash and Pikachu arrive into the lab. Both of them are panting and catching their breath. "Sorry if I'm late, Professor... Sheesh! We have been running for miles!"

"Not at all my boy! Your actually just in time!" Professor Oak was impressed Ash arrived early.

"Anyway, allow me to explain. You and Pikachu and your other Pokémon have been going on wonderous adventures that have been marvelous and delightful. The last region you have made your adventures around in was the Galar Region."

"That's right!" Ash brought up his fist in confidence.

"Well... Now it's time to tell you about an even more suprising region"

"Oh man...! I wonder what it is...!!!"

"You and Pikachu will be going to... the Paldean Region."

Ash and Pikachu danced and jumped around in excitement to hear that they are going to a newer region. "YEAH! Alright!!! Another new region!!! We're going too-!"

But he wasn't sure what new Pokémon was in the region was called Paldea.

"Wait. Paldea? I've heard of it before, but I don't know the Pokémon there."

Professor Oak nods his head. "It seems people have been keeping this a secret from you"

Ash scratches his head, feeling all confused. "But why?"

"Because of Area Zero", said Delia.

"Area what?"

Delia giggled a bit. "To explain further... Area Zero is a place researched of any past and future Pokémon. And guests are strictly prohibited to enter mostly. That's why Paldea is sometimes a secret so people don't get into trouble im that place"

"And as long as you don't go over there, you are welcomed in Paldea anytime", Professor Oak added.

"Well. I promise then", Ash says with a smile.

"That's the spirit! Now let's get you two ready for the airport!"

Delia, Ash, and Pikachu are riding in a car while Professor Oak is driving them to the airport.

Moments later at the boarding station, Ash and Pikachu say their goodbye's.

*Bing Bong*

Attention all passengers, those who are ready for their flight to the Paldea Region, we are ready for you to be boarded.

"You guys aren't coming with?", says Ash with a frown on his face.

"My dear boy. We would, but we have to stay here and watch over your Pokémon you collected throughout your adventures... again.", Delia said sadly.

"Oh yeah... good point."

"However, we will always be cheering for you if you decide to become champion of the Paldea Region."

Delia gives Ash a hug. Pikachu along with Professor Oak join in the hug as well.

"Be sure to meet lots of amazing Pokémon and be safe out there", said Professor Oak.

"Don't worry, Professor. Me and Pikachu dealt with these things for years. Will be just fine", he assured them.

A flight attendant comes over to Ash. "Mr.Ketchum, your up next to aboard the flight."

"Oh right! Thank you!"

"No problem."

Ash Ketchum and Pikachu wave goodbye while running to the entrance to the airplane.

"Bye, Mom! Bye Professor Oak!"

"PIKA-PIKA!"

"Bye, Ash! Be safe!"

"Goodluck!"

In the airplane up the sky, Ash is wondering what excitimg things will happen at the Paldea Region.

"Man, Piakchu. I wonder what new people and pokémon will meet."

"Pika", Pikachu said as he nodded.

Ash Ketchum looks on his computer to look up locations and landmarks in Paldea.

"Wow! Look at that! Naranja Academy! I've never been to any academy in a while since the Alola Region!" We have to go there! Wait... what does that say...?"

Ash Ketchum scrolls down to find that another academy, except it's somewhere nearby of the Unova Region, is there as well. Ash reads it.

Need an after school program. Naranja Academy knows just the place. Take it up to the Blueberry Academy. Paldea's popluar Pokémon Academy Schools where they also learn to Terastralize Pokémon.

"What does Terastralize mean?", Ash wondered.

Pikachu looks at Ash and shurgged his shoulders.

"Eh! Will find out when we get there, won't we!"

"Pikachu-Pika."

Both Pikachu and Ash give eachother fist bumps.

At Naranja Academy. An announcement is activated amongst the school.

*Beep, Boop, Bop!*

Nemona, please report to Director Clavell's office please. I repeat, Nemona, please report to Director Clavell's office.

Nemona felt overwhelmed. "Oh no. What did I do this time?"

She walks in to Clavell's office.

"Is there something you need, Mr. Clavell? I'm not in trouble am I?"

Director Clavell has a friendly smile on his face as if he was excited and happy sometimething is about to happen. "Nemona, right on cue! No troubles or worries. It's just that reports are coming in from the Paldea airport. Someone new you may or may not know is coming to visit."

This made Nemona curios. "Who is this person coming over?"

"His name is Ash Ketchum, from Kanto. It appears he is the one who won against the Champion Monarch of Galar. And he is coming here."

Nemona was eager to see this Ash Ketchum fellow. "Oh, really?! I can't wait! It's so nice to have new visitors!"

Clavell adjusted his glasses and proceed to speak further. "Indeed. That's why when he arrives soon, I need you to give him a tour. Especially to our academy. Along with making sure he has a Paldean starter Pokémon. It would please him so to be amazed and adventure around Paldea even more than usual. I heard he's usually optimistic about meeting new people and pokémon."

Nemona gives Clavell a thumbs up. "You can count on me, Mr. Clavell!"

"Excellent. If I were you, I would head to the airport right now." Clavell smriks.

"Oh shoot!"

Nemona runs out of the office.

Clavell laughs playfully. "Nemona never fails to impress me. Look at her go. Now all I need to do is find out what Arven is up to. I know him and Brair have been doing research." He holds up a picture of Turo and Sada holding Arven when he was little. "Hhmm. What happened to this boy's parents. Poor kid..."

Outside of Naranja Academy, Liko is enjoying the view since school is over for the day. The other students are playing around with their Pokémon.

"My plan is going in affect." She snickers afterwards.

Ms.Brair walks up to Liko to have a word with her. "Liko, there are some new students I would like you to meet."

Arven and Penny show up as well.

"Who are they?"

The three all walk up to the entrance. Ms.Briar explains what's going on.

"Nemona will be introduced to them later, but we have new students that will be in your semesters, along with another one who is coming soon from the airport, but that's a different story. I would like you to meet, Juliana, Florian, Carmine, Kieran, and the Blueberry Academy Elite Four, Drayton, Lacey, Amarys, and Crispin."

"WOW! It is... so nice to meet you all!" Arven was very wowed to see new friends. Penny waved hello.

Liko on the other hand felt shy. "Hi...", she said in a shy voice while waving lightly.

"Everyone have fun. I'll be taking my leave now."

"Ms.Briar, wait!"

"Hm?"

"When will we continue the research", Arven asked.

"Oh. Will get to that later", Ms.Briar promised. She walks into the academy afterwards.

"Seems as though we are meeting a bunch of outsiders", Carmine said jokingly.

"Well isn't she full of humor...?" Penny felt uncomfortable about Carmine.

"Sis! Your scaring our new friends here when you call them that!", Kieran yelled.

Carmine clenched her fists and rages at her brother Kieran. "Don't yell at me again if you know what's good for you!!!"

Drayton separated the two a bit. He is the calmest of them all. "Chill-ax you two. No need to fight."

Carmine scoffed. "Stay out of this Drayton."

"Unprecedented...", Amarys says.

"Sorry, Amarys...", Carmine said depressingly.

"Me and Florian are going to check the place out. Ready Florian?", Said Juliana.

"You bet, Juliana, its nice meeting you three, we should hang out sometime."

As the two leave, Lacey goes to talk to Penny while Crispin talks to Arven.

"Hi! Your Penny, right! Your Eeveeloutions are adorbale!"

"Oh. Thanks!", says Penny.

Both Penny and Lacey giggle.

"So you can cook huh?", Crispin asked Avren:

"Yep!"

Crispin was impressed to see someone has a talent of cooking like him. "That's great!!! We should totally cook spicy things together!"

Arven was embarrassed to realize he hasn't cooked spicy foods yet. "Uhm... maybe I'm not ready for that type of thing yet..."

Crispin understood Arven and pats him on the shoulder gently. "Understandable, dude. I'll show you the ropes if you want.

Arven felt more comfortable around Crispin as he promised to teach him about cooking spicy foods. "Yeah, that would be awesome. High five dude!"

Crispin and Arven give eachother high fives.

As everyone is talking to Arven and Penny, Carmine looks at Liko who was looking up at the beautiful sky. Carmine blushed a bit.

"Woah... who is she?", Carmine asked.

Arven explains. "That's Liko. And we don't know what her deal is, but don't trust her. She's planning something big and we don't know wha—"

But Carmine was already walking up to her.

Arven panics a bit. "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!"

"Excuse me, are you Liko?"

"Yeah. I am. You must be Carmine."

Carmine's heart was beating and she felt like she was going to panic. She felt like she's starting to have a liking towards Liko. "Uhm- well-... nice to meet you!"

Liko still felt shy, but Carmine seems nice so she shakes her hand. "Nice to meet you as well. Guess you and I are buddies... you know, I really never made new friends aside from Roy and Dot."

Carmine's heart sank when she heard that. "Aaaww. Really? Well, I'll be your new friend! You can count on it!"

Liko's eyes widened and she smiled. "Oh...? I mean... your not going to pick on me or anything?"

Carmine laughs. "Arceus no! Why would I do such a thing?" She gasps after coming to a realization. "Is that what happened to you?!"

Liko looked down and nodded. "Yeah... they think I can't become a powerful Pokémon Master because my Pokémon are powerless..."

"Noooo!!!", Carmine cooed. She felt so bad for Liko that she gave her a hug.

Liko was surprised. No one has ever gave her a hug before. She gives Carmine a hug back.

Lacey, Amarys, and Crispin cry with tears of joy. Kieran smiles lightly. They have never seen Carmine so nice to anyone before.

Drayton was a bit concerned for Liko. "Is she okay? She looks like she's been through a lot."

Arven did not like this one bit. Even Penny didn't either.

"We'll explain later. But me no like", he says gritting his teeth.

Carmine put her hands on Liko's shoulders.

"If you ever need anything, I'm here."

Liko wasn't sure if this was actually happening. How can someone know what she's been through in her life? "Are you sure? You actually want to be my friend."

"You and I are going to be the bestest of friends!", Carmine assured Liko.

Or hehe... maybe more than friends I hope...

Arven runs up to Carmine and Liko. "Uhm, hi Liko!!! Can me and Carmine talk for a second."

Liko looked annoyed by Arven. "Why you always gotta ruin my fun." She grumbles. "You do you. I got to go anyway."

"Bye cutie— I mean Liko!" Carmine still looked like she had a love interest for Liko.

Arven's jaw dropped and he looks at Carmine.

"Ugh. Keep your mouth closed. It's rude", Carmine said.

"YOUR IN LOVE WITH HER??!!!",

"Shush!!! Not so loud!!!"

Arven facepalms. "Look, me and Penny will explain, but Liko is evil! Don't trust her!"

Carmine mimics Arven. "She's evil, don't trust her. Do you here yourself?! She's fine. Besides, she so cute- I mean innocent. What can go wrong?"

Carmine walks away.

Arven looks at Liko walking down the stairs.

That's what I'm afriad of. Something could go wrong.

While Liko is walking. She gets agitated a bit about Arven. She thinks he might ruin her moments. But she's still on to formulating her secret plan.

"I wonder if Arven, quote on quote, will realize it won't matter", she said in a snarky tone. "It's me and Carmine against the world."

And Ash Ketchum's adventures begin next chapter! I can't wait for you all to enjoy this story! It'll be awesome. As always, see you in the next chapter.
