Lost in Language
After a few days have passed since the moonlight conjuring incident, our friends are now in the living room enjoying themselves. Luke was reading his favorite book "Loveless" , Y/n was sitting on the couch rubbing baby dragon on the back, and Luz was reading to King from her favorite book Azura.
Luz: "'Azura,' Hecate began. 'Our paths have crossed only in battle. But today I stand before you seeking an ally.' " [sighs]
Luke&King: Luz. you're getting all snoony again.
Luz: I can't help it. Azura is able to befriend everyone. Even her biggest rival. I wish I had that kind of power.
Y/N: [chuckles] Don't worry Luz I pretty sure you can befriend anyone.
Luz: [smiles] You really think so Y/n?
Y/n: Definitely.
Luz blushes from Y/n's complement and thinks to herself.
Luz: (Maybe if I could befriend my rival then I could tell you how I feel about you.)
King: Rivals are meant to be annihilated not befriended.
Luke: I'm a little half and half with King on this one.
Y/n: Of course you would.
Luke just shrugs and goes back into reading.
King: Anyway, keep reading. I've been sucked into your awful fandom.
Luke: (Like a lot of others.)
Luz: Okay. "Suddenly the door swung open."
Hooty: [Door swings open] Ding‐dong. Ding. Hoot! Hoot!
Y/n: [baby dragon flies on Y/n head scared] Whoa!
King: The book has come to life! Burn it!
Luke: [shakes his head] Idiots.
Both Y/n and Luz walk up to the door and look around to see no one there. Y/n looks down and sees a basket. Curious, he picks it up and takes it inside.
Y/n: Someone left this outside.
Luke: [looks up from his book] What is it?
Luz: [shrugs her shoulders] We don't know. Let's ask Eda.
The group starts making their way into the kitchen. Y/n places the basket on the table as everyone surrounds the basket. King was putting on a bib.
Y/n: Eda you got a package.
Luz: It looks like a gift basket.
Luke: Yea probably filled with poison or something.
Eda: Ha yea right! Probably an offering. Ah! Being the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles has its perks.
Luke: Is being wanted and doing petty crimes one of them? [Gets hit in the head] Ow! [rubs his head]
King grabs the sheet and pulls it down to reveal… a sleeping baby. Ok?
Y/n: [points] Is that a baby?
King: [rubbing his paws together] Mm. Fresh meat.
Luz: [horrified and walks away] Nope not eating that!
Luke: This place just keeps getting stranger.
Eda: Witches eating babies is so 1693.
Luke: [shivers] There's an image in my head that will never get out.
Eda: What is this?
King: There's a note [grabs it] It says "Take care of my child till morning. Yi Yi."
Eda: Nope. Babies are awful. Not happening.
Luke: But we take care of you all the time. [gets hit in the head and falls to the ground face first] Ow!
King: "You will be handsomely rewarded. X‐O‐X‐O‐X‐O‐X. Bat Queen."
Eda: Bat Queen? [sees King and Y/n holding snails. Eyes widen] Reward?
Y/n: Who's the Bat Queen?
Eda: She's the wealthiest demon on the Boiling Isles. Get in with her and you're set for life. [takes one of the snails] So, we keep this thing alive for a few hours and we get paid. Pfft. Easy.
Luke: [looks up from the floor] Doing it for the money? Our teacher Ladies and Gentlemen.
Luz: Our greatest adventure yet! Learning about love and life through a child's eyes. [looks at Y/n and blushes] *whispers* And maybe it can help when we raise our own.
Good news is Y/n was too busy staring at the baby to notice what Luz said. Bad news Luke, King, and Eda heard what she said and was grinning at her. Luz noticed their stares and started to go full red.
Y/n: [looks at Luz] Hey Luz, you say something?
Luz: [blushing deep red] Nothing! Not a Thing!
Luke: [smirks] Aww come on Luz tell Y/n what you were saying about your- [gets hit in the forehead by a snail] Ow! [rubs his forehead]
Luz was giving Luke a death glare, Meanwhile Eda was just chuckling from the whole scene.
Eda: Anyway you three aren't going to help. [draws a circle as Luke is pulled up from the ground] You three are going to turn in the books I checked out from the library.
Eda draws another circle and books piled up in all three of our friends' hands.
Luke: Ohh I get it you don't want to share your peace of the cut huh?
Eda: [sweat drops, looks away, and whistles] I don't know what you're talking about.
Luke: [glares] Uh-huh. [sighs] Well anyway I always wanted to check out the library here.
The three friends start heading towards the door.
Luz: [smiles] You've always been a bookworm haven't you.
Luke: Haha, very funny Luz.
Y/n: [baby dragon on Y/n head] How come you haven't visited the library yet?
Luke: I've been busy training so I never had the time to go.
As the three were leaving the house to go to the library Eda gets in front of the basket ready to babysit.
Eda: Now, let's take a look at this little darling. [fully takes the blanket off]
As soon as Eda removes the blanket the baby is revealed to be some kind of hybrid of a baby's head mixed in with bat wings, with fangs and talons. The baby lets out a loud shriek that causes King to fall over and Eda to cover her ears.
Eda: On second thought maybe we could us-
Luke: Oh would you look at that sorry teach these books aren't going to check in themselves! [rushes out the door]
Y/n&Luz: Wait up Luke!
The three friends and baby dragon rush out the door shutting it behind them leaving King and Eda with a screaming baby.
Eda: We got this right!?
Just as she says that the baby bat jumps on Eda's face causing her to fall backwards.
The scene changes to the three friends walking to the library. Y/n's is walking up front, with baby dragon on his head, with Luz and Luke walking behind him. Luz is just staring at Y/n while carrying some books.
Luke: I told Y/n this but staring is considered rude.
Luz: [breaks out of her thoughts] Huh? I wasn't staring at Y/n.
Luke: (Deja vu) I wasn't asking who were you staring at.
Luz just blushes in response as Luke chuckles.
Luke: Just ask him out already.
Luz: [looks away] I'm working on it.
Luke: [deadpan look] Uh-huh. You've been working on it for about 2 years now Luz.
Luz: [blushes] I-It's just what if he doesn't feel the same way.
Luke: (Doubtful.) [sighs] Trust me Luz I have a feeling he does.
Luz just stared at Luke with a confused look until she heard Y/n say wow. She turned her head and saw the giant library most people would confuse it for a castle.
Y/n: Cool!
Luz: Whoa!
Luke: Impressive!
The three walked inside the giant front door and looked around, they saw books everywhere and the front desk that was operated by a librarian. The librarian used his magic to levitate the books the three were carrying towards the front desk.
Librarian: [beeps] Late. [beeps] Late. [grabs the last book] Coffee, grass and bloodstains? These are Eda's, aren't they?
Luz: [laughs nervously] that was a crazy night
Luke: More like deadly.
Librarian: [sighs] I'll put them on her tab. [summons a scroll and writes on it] By the way, we're closing early for the Wailing Star meteor shower.
Y/n: [curios] Oh what's that?
Librarian: You're in a library. Read a book.
Luke was about to say something but Luz pulled his and Y/n's arm.
Luz: We are in a library and we will read a book.
The three start to run around the library.
Luke: [mumbles] Smart ass librarian.
Y/n: [chuckles nervously] It's ok Luke I didn't take any offence to it.
Luz: So guys, what should we do first?
Luke: [points to himself] I'm going to go do some research on this world.
Y/n: Really? You're not going to join us?
Luke: I need to catch up on some studying just in case we run into something more deadly.
Luz: *cough* nerd *cough*
Luke: [glares at Luz as she just smiles] In the meantime try not to get into any trouble.
Luz: What, you don't trust us?
Luke: No.
Y/n and Luz both pretend to be hurt as they put their hands over their hurt in the most dramatic way.
Luz: [dramatic] Luke how can you be so cruel?
Y/n: [dramatic] My feelings hurt so much.
Luke: (Goddamn it they remind me of them so much.) Whatever [walks away] And no making out you two.
Both Y/n and Luz just blush as they were about to yell but remembered they were in a library so they covered their mouths.
Y/n: Ready to have fun Luz?
Luz: [nods her head] Yep!
Y/n: [looks at baby dragon] You two little guy? [baby dragon chirps] Alright let's go!
Y/n starts running around looking for something to do as Luz watches for a bit and smiles.
Luz: What would you say if I told you Y/n? [starts running to catch up to Y/n and baby dragon]
The scene changes to Y/n and Luz looking at a drawer with multiple faces on it called Demon Decimal System saying don't feed it. Luz walks in front and pulls out a piece of candy and feeds it to the little demon drawer. The demon drawer eats the candy at first but then barfs up note cards. It hits Luz but Y/n and baby dragon dodges out of the way chuckling at what happened.
After helping Luz out of the barrage of note cards the three are now on the second floor of the library, in the study hall, as they watch books floating around. They also see hexide students studying for classes here too. Luz tries to grab one of the books down but it ends up taking her instead.
Luz: [screams] Y/n help me!
Y/n: [grabs Luz's leg] I got you Luz! [starts to get pulled with her] Nevermind I don't! [baby dragon flies with them]
Both Y/n and Luz are taking away with the other books flying around the library screaming. Some of the students told the two friends to shush.
Y/n&Luz: [embarrassed] Sorry.
After getting off that crazy book ride the two friends are now looking at witches and wizards using a crystal ball to watch videos. One crystal ball had a wizard flying on a magic stick with a title saying "HOW TO FLY", another crystal ball had a video of a cat playing a piano, and the last one had a loading screen on it with one of the wizards hitting it repeatedly.
Y/n: [holding and rubbing baby dragon] Aaaah load screens something everyone hates.
Luz: This place is amazing.
Y/n: Agreed I love it here.
?: What are you doing here?
This caused both the friends to freeze in place as Luz starts to panic.
Luz: [gasp] We've been caught. [looks at Y/n] Quick pretend to be a book.
Luz does some kind of weird pose that causes Y/n to chuckle in response.
Y/n: Calm down Luz I'm pretty sure that was- [baby dragon jumps out of Y/n hands and heads for the voice] Hey baby dragon wait!
Luz: Wait Y/n!
Baby dragon runs a little and stops in front of the children section of the library. Y/n stops and picks up baby dragon and is about to ask him why he ran off until he looks up and sees why. Luz catches up to both of them and sees what they were looking at. What they all see is Amity reading to a bunch of little kids.
Amity: " 'We're your friends and we wanna help,' said the Tin Boy with a yelp. Otabin smiled and paced the floor. 'I've never had real friends before.' "
The three of them sneaked inside without being noticed and hid behind one of the book shelfs. They looked over it and watched Amity read to the kids.
Luz: Amity reading to kids?
Amity: " 'Then we'll be your first,' the Chicken Witch clucked. Otabin couldn't believe his luck. So, Bookmaker Otabin, surrounded by friends, bound a book of friendship and that's the end."
Luz: Amity seems so... nice and smiley.
Y/n: [stares at Amity] Yea. I knew she had a nice side. [baby dragon chirps in response]
Luz looks at Y/n and notices him staring at Amity. Call it weird but the way he stared at her was different then most stares he does to others. It was like he was drawn to her sort of speak. When Luz saw that for some reason she felt a little pain in her heart but chose to ignore it.
The kids all start to live thanking Amity for the nice story. Amity starts to get up but is stopped by a young red skin child with no facial parts, regular human-like front and bottom middle teeth and sharp fangs on the outside of them. This was Braxas.
Braxas: [hugging Amity's leg] Good‐bye, Miss Amity. Thank you.
Amity: [pats his head] Thank you, Braxas. See you next time.
Braxas runs off screaming yay in excitement. Amity watches him run off all happy. Nothing warms her heart more than seeing the kids all happy after her reading. She then hears barking from her left and turns and sees Y/n covering baby dragon's mouth with his hands and Luz with a book on top of her head trying to blend in.
Amity: [annoyed] Ugh! You two.
Y/n: [stands up nervously] hehe H-hey Amity long time no see. How have you been? [Amity glares at him] N-not too good I see. hehe
She was about to respond until she felt baby dragon rubbing his head on her leg and circling around her barking.
Amity: Seems like your pe- I mean friend is really friendly.
Y/n: [smiles] Usually to people he really likes [claps his hands and binds down] Come on boy leave her alone.
The baby dragon starts walking towards Y/n as he picks him up gently.
Amity: [mumbles] Not like I mind.
Y/n: You say something Amity.
Amity: [light blushes] N-nothing!
Y/n: [confused] Oh ok then? [hears baby dragon barking] Hehe you really love messing with people don't you little guy?
Y/n gently pets baby dragon causing him to purr and lick Y/n face. Y/n was laughing when he did that. Both Amity and Luz were watching this and they both couldn't help to smile and blush at how childish and gentle Y/n was towards the baby dragon.
Y/n: [holds baby dragon] Anyway you reading to kids huh? [smirks] You really do have a nice side, don't yea?
Amity: [blushes and turns around] It's for extra credit! [walks to the back of the room] Don't think too much of it!
Y/n chuckles and follows Amity while Luz watches. There was that same pain she felt in her chest again the way Y/n was so friendly to Amity. It's not like she wanted him to be mean to her, it's just that the way he was being nice to her was more like a teasing couple sorta speak. She shakes her hand and runs up to both of them.
Luz: Maybe me and Y/n can help with the kids.
Amity: [stares at Luz] What?
Y/n: Yea me and Luz can do the voices.
Luz: [robot] I do the best monster voice.
Y/n: [chuckles] No Luz like this [monster voice] Monster voice.
Both Amity and Luz look at Y/n shocked as baby dragon just barks.
Y/n: [chuckles nervously] Too much.
Amity: [breaks out of her shock and slams the books on the table] Human! Do you see me going to the Owl Shack and bugging you while you... fry up owls?
Y/n: [confused] Uhh what?
Amity: [scoffs] Okay, I don't really know what you two do there, but every time you both come near me, I get in trouble. Just leave me alone.
Luz: I'm sorry [sad] I'm sorry
Luz starts to walk away as baby dragon goes after her leaving Amity and Y/n by themselves
Y/n: Amity she just wants to be your friend.
Amity: Oh right like I believe that there is probably some ulterior motive.
Y/n: Come on Luz isn't like that she's genuinely trying to be your friend just like I am.
Amity: [turns her head] Like I believe that. Just leave me alone already.
Y/n: [sighs and turns around] I really do care, Amity. But if leaving you alone will make you happy then ok [walks away]
As Y/n begins to walk away and sees Luz holding baby dragon in sadness. He walks up and holds out his hand.
Y/n: Need a hand?
Luz: [looks up and takes his hand] Thanks.
Y/n helps her up and walks away with her. Amity turns around and sees the two leave and was about to reach out and call them back but stops herself and turns back around. She didn't realize it but a single tear fell from her eye.
Back with Y/n and Luz. Luz is holding baby dragon in sadness as Y/n is walking beside her trying to cheer her up.
Luz: [sighs] So much for befriending rivals.
Y/n: Luz. [wraps his arm around her] Cheer up Luz I know someday she'll open up. No one can resist the Luz charm.
Luz: [giggle and look at Y/n] Thanks Y/n that means a lot.
Y/n: No problem.
?: Awww what a touching moment.
?#2: Shhh don't ruin it.
Both Y/n and Luz turn around to see a green haired girl and a girl haired boy that looked a little like Amity.
Y/n: [curious] Uhh who are you two?
Edric: Well‐wishers on a mission.
Emira: A noble quest.
Edric: Watch this. Hey mittens.
It took a whole lot of willpower for Y/n's not to laugh not because of Edric but because of
Zack: PFFTTTTT [laughs] MITTENS I CAN'T HAHAHAHAHA!
Amity blushes and grunts from embarrassment. Edric then holds up a bunny looking lunch bag.
Edric: Mom says stop forgetting your lunch. And stop being a jerk to your friends.
Amity: [snaches the bag] She is not my friend.
Emira: [touches Y/n shoulder] What about him?
Amity just stares at Y/n as Y/n does the same thing. What is he, a friend? Enemy? Nuisance?
Amity: [looks away] He's an acquaintance.
Y/n: (Huh well it's better then nothing.)
Emira: [grabs both Y/n and Luz shoulders] Make sense, they're too cool for you.
Y/n&Luz: We are?
Amity: You can leave now all of you.
Both the twins giggle as Edric winks at Luz causing her to blush a bit causing Y/n to look at him with a little hate. Emira sees this and giggles.
Emira: Now now brother you wouldn't want [nudges to Y/n] him to get jealous.
Y/n: [blushes] I'm not jealous!
Zack&Emira: You sure about that?
Y/n blushes in response as the twins and Zack giggle and Luz just watches.
Luz: (Was he jealous?)
Edric: So you are the human and dragon slayer we heard so much about?
Emira: I'm Emira. And this is Edric. We're Amity's older siblings. We heard how you [looks at Luz] embarrassed her at the school and how you [looks at Y/n] at the witch convention last week. No wonder she hates both of you.
Luz: I know. But we didn't mean any of it. I thought we were as cool as cucumbers. But we're as sour as pickles.
Y/n: I just thought that fight would help us learn about ourselves [looks down in sadness]
Baby dragon sees this and flies out of Luz's arms and lands on Y/n head to cheer him up.
Y/n: [rubs baby dragons back] Aww thanks for cheering me up little guy. [baby dragon chirps in response]
The twins saw the dragon and were amazed by it.
Edric: Cool is that a baby dragon!?
Y/n: Yea it is. [sweat drops] (You just now notice it)
Edric: [jumps up and down] Can I pet it!?
Y/n: Sure I don't see why not?
Edric goes to touch the baby dragon but as soon as his hand makes contact his hand starts to burn.
Edric: OW! That burns! [blows his hand] What just happened!?
Y/n: [shocked] I don't know!? [looks at baby dragon] Usually he's fine with most people petting him.
Emira just giggles at this as Edric looks at her.
Edric: Don't laugh, I'm in pain right now!
Emira: [walks up to him] Calm down you big baby. [draws a healing spell and heals his hand] There better.
Edric: [sighs] A little.
Y/n: I'm really sorry about that Edric.
Edric: [shakes his hand] It's fine. No harm done.
Emira: Except to your hand.
Edric: Like I said no damage done.
Emira: [rolls her eyes] Anyway [looks at baby dragon] Looks like you got yourself a salamander.
Y/n: Salamander?
Emira: It's the type of dragon your pet is.
Baby dragon growls in response.
Y/n: [pets him] He doesn't like being called a pet.
Emira: [giggles] Ok I won't call him a pet.
Edric: [walks beside Emira] So you're the son of Igneel huh?
Y/n: Yea why?
Luz hears the sound of Y/n voice. She couldn't help but think Y/n isn't a big fan when someone talks about his dad. Come to think of it, he never bothered to do research about his dad. He would usually ask about his teacher Zack more.
Edric: Oh nothing by it it's just
Emira: Igneel dragneel is one of the most powerful dragons there are.
Y/n: [unimpressed] I see.
Luz: Uhhh well is there anything you can tell us about him?
Y/n just looked at Luz and was going to say something until the twins interrupted him.
Edric: As a matter of fact we can show you.
The twins take Y/n, Luz, and baby dragon to one of the tables and types on the crystal ball. As the twins look it up Y/n talks with Luz.
Y/n: [whispers] Why are we doing this?
Luz: [whispers] Come on Y/n we can finally know more about your dad.
Y/n just stares at Luz then hears both Emira and Edric.
Emira: Alright you ready?
Y/n: Uhh for?
Edric: To show you how Igneel got the dragon slayer title.
Luz was excited to see but Y/n on the other hand was having mixed feelings.
The video starts to play.
We see a calm forest at first then out of nowhere the whole forest is burnt to ashes. We see a giant dragon breathing fire destroying everything in its path.
Zack: I remember this.
Y/n: (Zack what do you mean/)
Zack: Just keep watching.
The dragon roars loudly as it was about to summon another fireball from its mouth but was stopped by a fire blast pushing it back. The dragon slid on the ground and looked at whoever did that with hatred in his eyes. The person was walking with smoke all around him.
?: [walking towards the dragon] You know this forest was one of my favorite places to read.
Luz: Is that?
Edric: Yep it is.
The smoke clears to reveal a teenage Igneel with the same outfit he had on in Bump's picture. He had short red hair and glowing red eyes to match.
Luz: [stares at the teenage Igneel] Woooow!
Emira: I know right.
Teen Igneel: I have been looking for you rouge dragon. You've been causing a lot of messes in towns and scorching a lot of forest. It's only a matter of time before you harm innocent people.
The dragon just roared at Igneel creating a shock wave that pushed everything back. All except for Igneel.
Teen Igneel: [bored expression] Let's just get this over with.
The dragon starts to run towards Igneel and tries to claw him but Igneel just sidesteps to the right avoiding it. The dragon goes for another breath attack and fires it at Igneel, but Igneel catches the fireball in his hand and starts to eat it.
Igneel: [whips his mouth] Bleh disgusting. All taste from that is a mindless beast that cares about nothing but destruction.
The dragon rushes at Igneel and tries to swipe him with his claws but Igneel catches it and stares at the dragon with a bored expression.
Edric: I always wince at this part.
Luz: [confused] What part?
Igneel then summons fire on his right leg and kicks the dragon so hard that you can hear his bones shatter from his insides.
The group sees this and some of them are wincing or holding themselves.
Luz: [holding her stomach] I see what you mean.
Edric: Yea that part was brutal.
The dragon gets kicked in the sky as it flips in the air multiple times and lands on its back hard. The dragon tries to get up but falls as it lays back down, too injured to move.
Igneel: [walks up to the dragon] I thought you would put up a better fight than that. Guess not. [stops in his tracks, raises his hand, and closes his eyes] Let's put an end to this.
Y/n watches this and doesn't know how to feel about this. On the one hand his dad is stopping the dragon from hurting innocent people. But on the other hand the way he is killing his own kind with no emotion and no remorse is just cruel. The group sees Igneel open his eyes and this causes Y/n to flinch a little when he saw them.
Igneel: Burn out.
Igneel then snaps his fingers as the dragon is hit with a wave of fire that slowly consumes it.
Everyone watches how the dragon's body is slowly getting burned into a crisp.
Luz: [shocked] Whoa.
Edirc: I know right.
Emira: A lot of witches and wizards struggled to fight that dragon but Igneel was able to take it out like it was nothing.
Y/n who was watching just looked at his dad. All his dad was doing was staring at the dragon with uncaring eyes as he watched it burn. He then notices his dad turning around but sees his lips move as he was muttering something.
The dust settled as the dragon was nothing but a pile of ashes. Igneel starts to walk away but says something before the clip ends.
Igneel: You can stop filming now Zack.
Zack: Oh uhh right sorry.
The video ends.
Y/n: (So you were there watching?)
Zack: Yea. People wanted to prove that Igneel did it so I was there to film it.
Y/n: [uneasy] (I see.)
Luz: Y/n?
Y/n: [breaks out of his thoughts] Huh?
Edric: We ask what did you think?
Y/n was trying to figure that out himself. Was he amazed by how easy his dad killed the dragon? Was he upset that his dad killed his own kind?
Y/n: [smiles] He was… amazing.
Edric: I know right!
The twins may have bought that smile but Luz knew Y/n's all too well to know that smile was fake.
Emira: Anyway we are way more fun than mittens. Why don't you both hang out with us?
Luz: [excited] Really!? That would be great! [looks at Y/n] What did you think Y/n's
Y/n was debatting over it. He really wanted to try to talk to Amity, but she probably isn't in the best mood to talk with right now. And the twins did help him see how his dad got the dragon slayer title… even though he didn't bother to ask.
Y/n: [nods his head and smiles] Sure I'm in.
The twins smiled brightly and grabbed Y/n and Luz.
Twins: Lets go!
As the group began to look for trouble Edric saw someone from the corner of his eye.
Edirc: Hey Em [points his finger] Is that-
Emira looks at where Edric is pointing and sees someone approaching them. Y/n and Luz look too and everyone has a smile on their face.
Y/n: Hey Luke!
Luke POV
I have been sitting at this table for hours trying to do some research on demons. The only thing I was able to learn is where they came from and the different categories there are. I understand the more I know the better but I really need something useful if I can keep this thing in me tame.
Me: [rubs my eyes] Ok I got to learn how some demons reproduce, and know I want to forget about it.
I get up and start walking into one of the book isles and scan around looking for anything more useful. As I was scrolling I found a book with the words "Dragons" on the side. I pulled it out and the front cover said "History of the dragons".
Me: Huh maybe Y/n would find this interesting.
I put the book under my armpit and kept searching around for more books until I pulled out a book that looked like it was covered in some kind of dirt.
Me: Gees that let something like this in the library.
I examined the book and looked all around it… Yep, probably someone didn't know how to take care of it. I eventually opened the book and looked inside of it. The problem is I couldn't understand any of the writing that was in it.
Me: What kind of language is this?
Little Demon: Demon language kid.
*sigh* Of course I'm guessing you know the words don't you?
Little Demon: Hehehe I do.
Let me guess you're not going to tell me anything are you?
Little Demon: Oh I'm not. But he will.
He?
Little Demon: You'll find out.
I felt his presents disappear as I thought about what he said. Who the hell is this 'he'? And what does he have to do with the book? I just sigh and put the book back and start walking away to look for Y/n and Luz. Hopefully Y/n can learn more about his kind with this book I'll give him. But as soon as I start walking away for some reason I feel a weird chill that causes me to turn around. Nothing was behind me but for some reason it felt like someone was.
Me: Great, even my own sanctuary is giving me the creeps.
I turned back around and started looking for Y/n and Luz. What the hell was that weird feeling? And why the hell do I feel like it had something to do with that book? As I was walking I started to hear someone calling out my name.
Y/n: Hey Luke!
I turned my head to see Y/n and Luz. Perfect I can tell Y/n's what I-. I stopped dead in my tracks to realize who the two people they were with. Oh no.
3RD POV
The group walked up to a terrified Luke, well terrified on the inside, on the outside he was keeping his somewhat calm face.
Edric: Wait Luke you know these two?
Luz: Yea Luke is our best friend!
Emira: [shocked] Really Luke is our best friend!
Inside Luke's head.
Luke: (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!)
Y/n: Wait really Luke never told us.
Twins: [looks at Luke] Luke you never told them about us!
Y/n&Luz: You never told us you were friends with Amity's siblings
Luke's head.
Luke: (It's like every nightmare I've ever had fused into one, cloned itself, f*cked the clone, and made those)
Luke: [tries to keep his composer] W-well to be fair you guys never ask.
The group just glared at Luke as he just sweats. I mean who can blame him? The four people he was hoping would never met have meet.
Emira: [stops glaring] Well anyway [walks over and grabs Luke shoulders] It's glad to see you here Luke.
Now Luke can tell there was some death in that sentence how you may ask. Well call it a hunch but I'm pretty sure she is squeezing his shoulders with a little too much force.
Luke: (Why me? What did I do to deserve this?) So what are you four up to anyway?
Edric: We were just about to hang out and have a little fun!
Luke's face went pale when he knew what kind of fun Edric was referring to.
Emira: [lets go of Luke's shoulders] Hey Luke you should come with us!
Luz: Yea she's right Luke!
Y/n: We can all have a blast!
There was a moment of silence until Luke said.
Luke: Hell. No.
Group: What!? Why!?
Luke: [sighs] Look I'm going to be honest the real reason I didn't want either of you to meet is because 2 of you I can handle, 3 is stretching it but I can manage, but 4 is crossing it.
Luz: What's that supposed to mean?
Luke: It means that I'm pretty much dealing with 4 people that can cause who knows how much damage and the thought of me trying to control it is death on a stick.
Edric&Y/n: But-
Luke: Look I'm not going to stop you from having fun, not that I have tried in the past, I'm just not going to be a part of it. [walks away and waves] So enjoy yourselves.
As Luke begins to walk Edric gets in front of him pleading with his hands together.
Edric: Please join us Luke!
Luke: [walks around him] No.
Y/n: [gets in front of him] Please! It won't be the same without you!
Luke: [walks around him] No!
Luz&Emira: [gets in front of him] But Luke we really want you to join!
Luke: [annoyed] I'm going to say this one more time! N.O. No!
The group looks at each other with sad expressions then starts to do a sly smile.
Luke: (Wait why are they-) [face goes pale] (Oh no.)
Luz: Alright Luke
Emira: Be that way
Edric: But just remember
Y/n: You forced us to do this.
Luke was panicking in his head because he knew what they were planning to do. Luz was getting her puppy eyes ready, Emira was drawing a circle, and Y/n and Edric took a deep breath in. The only thing Luke was saying is 'No' in his head over and over again. Then it happened.
Y/n&Edric: [pleading] Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please! Please!
Luz: [puppy eyes] Pweese Luke! We rewlly want you to come!
Emira: [fake crying] W-we j-just want you t-too h-have fun and want y-you to join us. W-we just just really want y-you to c-come with us.
Luke is literally screaming in his brain right now. This is exactly the kind of thing he was trying to avoid cause they knew if they would meet they would force him to join it with their annoying tricks. Now why does this still work on Luke? Even if he knows that the tears are fake from Emira, just seeing a crying girl still plays with Luke's heart. Luz puppy eyes may be annoying but at the same time it always has been effective to Luke. As for Edric and Y/n… Just annoying to the point he wanted it to stop.
Luke also notices the weird looks people were giving them weird looks and it was a matter of time before the staff came and kicked them out.
Luke: (I know I'm going to get thrown out either way but I can't take much more of this.) [covers his ears and whispers yells] Ok I get it just knock it off I'll join!
The four stop what they were doing and cheer in excitement
Luz,Edric&Y/n: Thanks Luke you're the best! [runs of]
Emira: [draws a circle and the tears disappear] I knew you couldn't resist us forever [whisper in his ear] Especially a crying girl. [blows in his ear and walks away]
Luke just shuttered after she did that and was regretting a lot of life choices. Suddenly a random wizard walked past him and Luke summoned his sword and held it to the wizard, scaring him.
Luke: Here. Please hit me with this as hard as you can.
Edric: Hey Luke we just figured out what we are going to do first!
Luke: (Turns his head) Don't hold back
Timeskip
The group was was watching Edric walk up to the "Fiction and Non-Fiction" sign as he erase the Non off of it. He runs back to the group snickering. Soon a second librarian walks up leading patrons.
Librarian #2: And here we go towards our nonfiction section. [gasps when he sees the sign] Fiction. Fiction. Is our world but fiction? Then what in my life is real anymore? [sobbing]
Luke: (I feel your pain man. I feel your pain.)
The scene changes where Librarian #1 is reading while shelving books. As he puts one on the shelf, it glows blue and flies back onto the reshelving cart. This happens several times before Emira is revealed to be doing it, her, Edric,Y/n and Luz all laughing and Luke is just watching with a deadpan look. Edric switches the places of the two librarians.
Librarian: #2: Huh? No! Not again! [sobbing]
Luke: (I want to cry to man.) [sees the other librarian fall off the ladder] (My type of mood right now.)
The scene cuts to Edric holding up a dusty book. He was going to blow it on the demon decimal but he decided that he wanted Luke to do it as the others agreed. Luke looked at him and shaked his head while crossing his arms. Y/n and Edric pleaded to Luke while Luz and Emira where getting their tears and puppy eyes ready. Luke glared at the group, snatched the book from Edric's hand, and mouth the words "I hate all of you".
Luke walks up to the demon decimal and blows the dust on it. He turns around and gives them a "Happy now?" face. Y/n points behind Luke, Luke turns around and sees the demon decimal getting ready to sneeze.
Luke: (Oh no.)
The demon decimal sneezes the notecards at Luke sending him in the air crashing on the floor. The group laughs at this as Luke has his head down in frustration. Luke then hears a familiar voice and so does the rest of the group.
Amity: Hey!
Luke looks up and sees Amity and one of the librarians in front of him with an angry expression.
Librarian #1: [growls] Wait. Where's Gary?
Gary: [runs in] Coming. Nooo! [sobbing]
Luke: [drops his head down] Why me?
The group was then shoved out of the front entrance of the library everyone was lucky enough to land on their feet… all except for Luke who landed face first on the ground.
Luke: Ow.
Librarian: You've made reading far too fun. Now, stay out.
Luke: (Pretty sure we were kicked out for another reason.)
The door was then shot as the four of them looked at each other and started to laugh.
Luz: Amity's even madder at me now. I didn't think that was possible.
Y/n: Hopefully she won't be for too long.
Edric: Don't worry when mittens get mad she gets like this. [inhales sharply, grunting as his face turns red; exhales] Whoa, I almost passed out.
Luke: [muffled] Why did you stop?
Emira: [giggles] You two are pretty fun. [looks at Luke] Wish Luke told us about you sooner. [looks at Edric as they both nod and look at Y/n and Luz] So, hey, we're coming back tonight. There's a certain book we forgot to... check out.
Edric: And bonus, rumor has it the Wailing Star's supposed to unlock some rare magical event. You in, friend?
Luz: [excited] Heck yea! [looks at Y/n] Right Y/n!
Y/n: [nods his head in excitement] Sure I love to join!
The twins smile at this. Then everyone turned to Luke who still had his face on the ground.
Edric: What about you Luke.
Luke: [muffled] Are you 4 just going to annoy me if I refuse?
The group: Yep.
Luke: [muffled] Then how can I refuse?
Edric: Great. Meet back here at midnight. See you, guys.
Edric starts walking and starts to walk away.
Luz: Bye.
Y/n: See ya then.
Luke who just groans as he leaves. Emira giggles at this and approaches Luke.
Emira: Oh come on we are going to have fun.
Luke: [muffled] Uh-huh.
Emira: [sly smile] Can you sit up for me for a second?
Luke: [sighs and looks up] What do you-
Luke gets cut of from Emira kissing his nose as he just lightly blush
Emira: [whispers in his ear] That's for joining us. If you come join us I can give you a bigger reward.
She starts to get up and walk away, she then turns her head and winks at him, then turns back to catch up to her brother. Luke was there blushing as he slams his head back on the ground as Y/n and Luz giggle.
Luz: This is perfect. We befriend the sibling then we befriend Amity.
Y/n: Huh never thought of it that way. Sounds good to me.
Luke: [muffled] Sounds idiotic.
Luz: [walks over to Luke] Also Luz you didn't tell me you and Emira were a thing.
Y/n: Now we see why you never told us about them.
Luke: [lifts his head up] I don't have the energy to deal with you two right now.
Both Y/n and Luz giggle as they start walking down stairs back home. Luke gets up and looks down the staircase.
Luke: I wonder if I fall from this height, it will be enough to kill me.
Luke decided to just walk down the stairs to catch up to his friends. Unknown to them Amity was standing in the back corner watching and listening to all of this.
Amity: [She holds her breath until her face turns red. Grunts] Phew! Almost passed out for a minute.
The scene cuts back to the owl house showing us the crying bat child. Around her is Eda and King, Eda has both of her hands detached and are using them as earmuffs to block out the noise, While King is using pillows he tied to his head to block out the noise.
King: It's been hours. How can it keep screaming?
Eda: Ugh. I hate it too, pip‐squeak. [reattaches her hands] But think about the money.
After she said that the baby's cries got so much louder that it caused bottles to break and Edas wanted poster's glass to have a crank on it.
King: No amount of snails is worth this torture. [falls to the floor] Make it stop.
Eda: [sighs] I can't believe I'm about to do this. [picks the bat up. It immediately stops crying. King and Eda both look at it in disbelief.] Rock, rock. Maternal gesture.
The door opens to reveal the three friends and baby dragon.
Luz: We just had the best day. Cool teens like us. Call us a library book 'cause they were checking us out.
Luke: [falls on the ground] Luz please stop.
Luz pouts as Y/n just chuckle. Y/n then looked at Eda and was shocked by what he saw.
Y/n: Wow Eda you're being surprisingly gentle.
Luz: [looks at Eda] You look so motherly.
Luke: [lifts his head] Surprise you haven't eaten it yet.
Eda: You three keep talking, I'll steal all of your tongues.
Luke: [puts his head back down] Scathing.
Eda: You look dead kid, more than usual.
Luke: [muffled] I had two groups meet.
Eda: That bad huh? [Luke nods his head]
Luz: It wasn't that bad [realize what she wanted to say] Oh yea we also saw how Y/n's dad became a dragon slayer!
Eda: [shocked] Huh? And here I thought that video was deleted by now? [looks at Luz] What did you think?
Luz: It was awesome. I didn't know he was that powerful!
Eda: [chuckles and looks at Y/n] What about you Y/n? What did you think about seeing your dad in action?
Y/n: [looks away] It was… cool.
Everyone notice the tone in Y/n voice, it sounded like he was struggling to say the word.
Luz: [tries to change the subject] Uhh well we have to get ready to go meet our new friends!
Luke: [muffled] I think I might stay here.
Y/n: [walks over to Luke] Oh come on Luke it would be fun.
Luke: [lifts his head up] I highly doubt that. [looks at Eda and the baby] At least the child knows how to be quiet,
Luz: [walks over and pokes the child] Aww he really is a cute little one.
Suddenly the baby starts to barf up a small version of himself as the small version barfs up an even small version. All the bat baby's start to fly and chirp.
Luz: [shocked] Whoa!
Y/n: What just happened!?
Luke: I have soo many questions!
The bats fly upwards, still chirping. One of them breathes fire. The group all scream and run away from the couch, which is the unfortunate target. Luz and the others run for the door.
Luke: You know what on second thought I think I rather deal with them then deal with a fire breathing bat baby! [runs out]
Luz: [putting her messenger bag on] Parenting sure looks rewarding. E‐Enjoy your life lessons. Bye.
Y/n: [waves] Good luck Eda! [Baby dragon chirps]
Y/n closes the door as the three friends and baby dragon leave. The bats fly around, knocking things off shelves and causing mayhem. Eda is holding King.
King: Uh, for, for the money?
Eda: For the money. [yelps dodges a green slime]
The scene now cuts to the group at the front entrance waiting for Emira and Edric. Luke is standing on a pillar with his arms crossed, Y/n is sitting on the ground petting baby dragon, and Luz is pacing back and forth.
Y/n: [looks up at Luz] Luz you ok?
Luz: [looks and approaches Y/n] I'm trying to find a way to be cool. [rests her arm on the pillar] Cool?
Y/n gives her an ok hand sign. Luz shakes her head and leans against the pillar. Y/n just gives her an ehhh look. Luz just sighs and just kneels down while throwing a peace sign.
Luke: [facepalms] Luz please stop.
Luz gets up and pouts at Luke while Y/n chuckles.
Y/n: [puts baby dragon on the ground and walks up to Luz] Why are you trying to be cool anyway?
Luz: [sighs] I just don't want to mess up this friendship with them. What if they think I'm weird or something? [looks down with sadness]
Y/n: Luz. [hugs Luz] You're perfect just the way you are. Don't ever change that.
Luz: [blushes and hugs Y/n back] *smiles* Thank you so much Y/n.
Luke: [smirks] Don't worry about trying to impress them, as long as you're not a "killjoy" then you'll be fine.
Twins: I thought you forgave us for that!
Y/n and Luz toward their heads and see Edric and Emira leaning on a pillar, well was until they heard Luke which caused them to get up off it.
Luke: [shrugs and closes his eyes] Oh I have but it's not going to stop me from bringing it up. [opens his eyes] Now don't you two mind [nudges his head] these two are having a moment.
Y/n and Luz looked at each other and realized they were still hugging which caused them to separate and face away from each other blushing.
Luke: [sighs] And moments ruin thanks Edric.
Edric: [hurt] How is this my fault!?
Luke: [nods his head] Right right. Good job Em.
Emira: [hurt] How is this my fault!?
Luke: [gives off the pillar] Right it's both your faults.
Twins: How!?
Luke: [light chuckles] So are we going to do this or what.
The twins glare at Luke for a while but sighs and nods their heads. Luz was shaking with excitement and Y/n had his hands pumped. Baby dragon just looked annoyed by all this.
Luke: So do we have anything to warn us if someone comes
Y/n: Way ahead of you Luke [points to baby dragon] Our security. [Baby dragon blows smoke from his nose]
Edric: [chuckles] No offense Y/n but I don't think that little guy can- WHOA!
Edric just barely dodges a smile fireball that came out of the baby dragon's mouth. The baby dragon growls at Edric which causes him to sweat and become nervous.
Luke: [smiles] I'm fine with it [looks at everyone] Anyone objects?
Everyone shakes their head. They all start to approach the door.
Y/n: So how are we going to get inside?
Edric: It says no trespassing but I'm allergic to the rules. [pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to Emira]
Luke: (Says a lot.)
Emira: And dairy.
Edric: Wow, okay. Just expose me.
Luke: [rubs his chin] Dairy huh?
Edric: [sweat drops and looks at Luke] Uhhh Luke you're not planning anything right?
Luke just smiled sinisterly.
The paper glows. Emira puts it against the lock on the door. The paper lock grows until it's large enough for them to walk through. Luke was the first one to start walking in but was stopped by Edric talking.
Edric: [nervous] Y-you not planning anything r-right?
Luke: *smiles innocently* Who knows Ed? [walks inside] Who knows?
Edric: [looks at the others] H-he's joking right?
The girls shrug their shoulders and walk inside. Y/n walks up and pats Edrics back.
Y/n: It's hard to tell Ed.
Edric sighs and starts to walk inside.
Y/n: [looks at baby dragon] Guard the door with your life buddy.
Baby dragon stands up tall on all fours and barks. Y/n chuckles and walks inside with the other as the lock shrinks down. The group starts walking around the front entrance inside the library.
Luz: Standing in a dimly lit lobby.
Luke: Talk about a party.
Edric: There. The Wailing Star!
Everyone looked up at the stained glass window to hear some kind of wailing happening outside. It was the sound of the wailing star sobbing. The stars' light shine threw the windows passing by everyone from the outside. The light also starts to affect Y/n's keychain in his pocket making it glow for a second.
Luke: Huh an actual wailing star why am I not- [gets a weird chill that makes his eyes widen] (What the hell!?) [turns around]
The group looks around to see if something happens but is disappointed that nothing has changed.
Edric: Hmm. Nothing happened.
Luke: Uhh you sure about that? You might want to turn around.
The group turns around to see all of the books are glowing green.
Y/n: [walks up to one of the books] Huh strange. [grabs a book titled "Extinct Birds of the Boiling Isles".] It's all glowy.
As soon as Y/n opens the book something screeches as the birds in the book come to life. They fly around the lobby.
Y/n&Luz: Cool!
Emira: Wow!
Edric: Wow. The Wailing Star magicked the books to life.
Luke: [bird lands on his head] Great books brought to life. [swats the bird away] But how do we make them go away?
Y/n: Hmmm I wonder. [closes the book]
As soon as he closes it the birds start to disappear. The four of them share a look and then grins.
Luke: *panics* Oooooh no.
Cut to a magazine stand. Edric opens "Regal Couture," which dresses him and Emira in fancy clothing. A peacock flies out of it. Luke got caught in the blast since he was behind them and ended up with the same outfit he wears when he enters the black room.
Luke: [looks at himself] (Wait why am I wearing this?)
Edric: [looks at Luke and whistles] Got to say Luke you look good.
Emira: Yea. [walks up to look] I wouldn't mind dancing with you for a bit.
Luke: Thanks.
Luz grabs "Witch Wares Weekly" with Y/n behind her and gets a giant sword, among other things. Y/n was wearing a familar black rob (Cloud from FF7 Advent Children.
Luz sees Y/n of what he was wearing and starts to blush madly.
Luz: [blushing and whispers] So hot.
But before she can admire him more her sword was too heavy to carry which causes her to lose her balance and fall down. Y/n sees this and rushes to her to make sure she is ok.
The scene changes to the group now in front of the graphic novels section as they all crowd Luz who is holding the book. Luz opens the book and notices that nothing is happening.
Luz: Nothing happened. [her words appeared in a dialogue bubble]
The group looked at the dialogue bubble surprised.
Twins&Y/n: Wow! [That too comes out in a word bubble.]
Luke: What the- [Comes out in a dark word bubble.]
Luke closes the book making a loud "THUMP" sound bubble appear as she does. The group shares a laugh as Luke just stands there confused on what just happened.
The scene cuts again to the group all splitting up each holding a book called the "Snowballs, a history". Luke is currently hiding behind a corner as she watches both Y/n and Edric slowly backing into each other without noticing each other. Y/n and Edric eventually bump into each other which causes them to yelp and quickly turn around. They were about to open their book and unleash a mountain of snowballs on each other, until they heard something.
Luz: Hey!
They turn their heads and see Luz out of the corner she was hiding and opens her book to unleash a whole bunch of snow balls on them. The two duck in cover and open their book to do the same to Luz. Luz quickly dodges and hides as the two boys try to hit each other with snowballs. Luz giggles and starts to walk but gets cut off as Emira is in front of her with the book in her face and opens it to unleash a bunch of snowballs in her face. Emira giggles but then she has an idea, she closes the book and calls everyone over.
Emira: Hey guys come here for a second!
The group covers over with their books ready just in case of an ambush.
Emira: Wait wait I have a fun idea!
Emira whispers her idea as the group starts to smile and giggle.
Luke was walking around trying to figure out where everyone went. Last thing he remembers is that they all were supposed to split up and try to attack everyone with snowballs, but so far he has yet to find anyone to attack with snowballs.
Luke: [walking] Where the hell is everyone?
Luke then hears footsteps and he was about to get his book ready for whoever was walking towards him, but the problem is he heard footsteps from up, down, left, and right.
Luke: (Wait why am I hearing-) [face goes pale] (They wouldn't.)
Luke then sees everyone has surrounded him with their books ready to hit him with a mountain of snowballs.
Luke: Oh crapbaskets
The group open their books and a mountain of snowballs with each book hits Luke. The snowball barrage continued until Luke was literally in the shape of a human size snowman.
Emira: [puts a carrot on it] Now it's perfect.
Luke was able to get his eyes out of it and notice that Emira had put the carrot where his mouth is. Luke spits the carrot out of his mouth and glares at the group.
Luke: I. Hate. All. Of. You.
Group: Aww we love you two Luke!
Back outside of the Library
Baby dragon is walking back and forth making sure that no one else walks into the library to hurt or arrest his friends and the twins. Baby dragon then starts to smell something and sees a figure approaching the entrance. At first he starts to growl but then he recognizes the person's scent and appearance and begins to pant and bark.
Luke POV
After I was able to break free from my snowball prison I began to walk around the library as everyone else continued their little snowball game. I can't believe they talked me into doing this. What the hell has my life become at this point? Suddenly I started to get that weird feeling again like I got when the wailing star passed by before. Come to think of it, I've been getting this feeling for a while. I just been trying to ignore it. I decided to find out what's been causing this weird feeling.
I started walking through the aisle of books in the library. As I was walking the feeling got stronger and stronger meaning I was getting close. Eventually I found that same book that I thought was covered in dirt glowing a dark shade of red.
Me: It must have been affected by the whaling star as well.
I picked the book up and was about to open in until I was suddenly brought into the black room,
Me: [looks around] What the? How did-
Little Demon: Heheh looks like you are about to get some answers.
Me: [looks at the demon] What are you-
Little Demon: Oh don't let me stop you please continue.
Just then I was back into the real world with the book still in my hand. I had no idea what was going on or what I should do. Part of me wanted to open this book to find out what the hell is going on. But the other part is telling me not to, cause it could risk him taking control of me. I breathed in and out and just prayed that if I open this I don't hurt anyone. I opened the book then suddenly the pages started to flip on its own causing me to drop it.
Just then a figure started to come out of the book. It looked just like me when I was in my demon form. The only problem is its horns were a little bigger and his fangs and claws were bigger as well.
?: Hello Grimoire it's me again.
Me: What the hell?
I was confused on what was happening but some part of me decided to listen to this demon
?: I decided to keep my thoughts in here so I can tell you of all the events that have been happening to me [clears his throat] I've been trying to find a way to make it in this place. But no matter what I do I'm just a low level demon. I get abused so much since I barely have any magic abilities. It's gotten to the point where the higher demons constantly abuse me, they either attack me with magic or without it saying "You're a disgrace to our kind." There hasn't been a day when I don't wake up in the pool of my own blood. [chuckles] Did you know my blood is black?
This got my attention. He said his blood was black? But that would mean- No, don't jump to conclusions just yet. It's probably just a coincidence.
?: After so much abuse I couldn't take it anymore so I decided it was time to end this once and for all. There were rumors of a portal located at the foot of the titan deep in the forest; those who enter never come back. People use it as ghost stories to scare their kids but if it's true then maybe it will put an end to me. I began my journey there not having much hope but I was attacked by monsters, poison creatures and many many other things. I was laying down on the ground losing all hope, thinking that portal was just a fantasy but then I saw a light.
He saw the portal.
?: I used what little strength I had to walk to the light. When I made it I saw it, the portal, it was a black and white swirling vortex of some kind. Finally for the first time of my life I smiled. I can finally kiss this horrible ass life goodbye. I fell in closing my eyes as I began to disappear. Farewell to Ragnarok Martins.
My eyes widened and it was like everything just stopped. Did he say his last name was Martins?
Y/n POV
This place is awesome. I never knew how fun the library can be. I just thought it was a place where I can sleep some more, but this place made it ten times better than that. I started walking around trying to see if I could find any more books to learn about. I then found a book with the word "Dragons" on the floor. I picked it up and was about to open it until I thought of something.
Me: I don't think it's a good idea to call a full size dragon in the library.
I held the book in my hand and was about to put it back until I thought of something. Maybe I should at least learn about my kind but at the same time I don't want to. The question that was always on my mind is: Why don't I want to? The more I learn the more I could probably learn more about my fire and how to get stronger, but at the same time I just didn't want to do that. So now am asking myself why don't I?
I was about to question myself more but I decided to drop it and sigh. I carried the book with me just in case I decided to take it with me when we left. Would that count as stealing? I walked around the corner and then I bumped into someone that caused us both to fall on the ground.
Me: [rubs my head] Ow! [gets up in a hurry and held my hand out] Whoops am sorry I didn't-
Before I finished I saw the person I walked into it was Amity.
Amity: [rubs her head and opens her eye] I knew I would find you here.
Me: [confused] Uhh how?
Amity stands up and points at the top of her head. I looked up and saw baby dragon sleeping on their. Two things were going through my mind: 1. How did I just notice him? 2. How was he able to stay on while sleeping?
Y/n: [shocked] Huh?
Amity: [confused] What?
Y/n: [rubs his head] It's just rare for baby dragon to let people hold him and this is actually my first time I've seen him fully sleep on someone other than me. [smiles] He must really think you're a good person just like I do.
Amity: [blushes] W-well don't think too much of it.
I just chuckle at her response. Baby dragon started to wake up and yawn, he saw me and started to pant. I call him over and he slowly starts to fly a little, guess he's trying not to hurt Amity. He gets off Amity's head and lands in my arms as I hold him.
Me: [rubs him] Weren't you supposed to be on guard duty? [he barks in response] Well I guess I give you points, good job little guy.
I started to pet him as he pants and licks me which causes me to laugh. He eventually stops and lands on my head as he begins to rest. Man he sure does sleep a lot.
Amity: You really are gentle with him aren't you?
Me: Of course [looks at baby dragon] he's my best buddy beside who can resist this little guy.
Amity: [giggles and rubs baby dragons head] I guess you're right about that.
She relized what she was doing and pulled her hand away and I could have sworn I saw her cheeks a little red.
Amity: S-Sorry.
Me: [chuckles and waves my hand] Ah don't worry I don't mind.
Amity: What are you doing here anyway?
Me: Oh me and my friends are hanging out with your siblings. They said we were going to have fun.
Amity: You do realize you guys are breaking and entering right?
Me: [sweatdrop] Uh probably didn't think that one through.
Amity: [sighs] Of course. Why do you want to befriend them anyway?
Me: Well at first we thought if we befriended them then we could befriend you, but after hanging out with them their cool people [mumbles] most of the time.
Amity: [mumbles] Try living with them. [speaks up] Wait, how would being friends with my siblings help you be friends with me?
I opened my mouth to say something but couldn't think of anything.
Me: [sighs] Ok the truth is that was Luz's plan. Even I don't know how that would work.
Amity: [sighs] Of course why is she trying so hard to be my friend?
Me: [chuckles] That's just Luz for yea she just wants to be your friend the same as me. The difference is if giving you space helps then I'll do that.
Amity: Why do you want to be my friend so bad?
Me: [smiles] Because you're a good person Amity and I really want to know more about you. I think if we stick together we can learn more about each other and help each other out. [holds my hand out] What do you say?
Amity looks down at my hand and I think she was getting red when I said that. She looked like she was about to grab my head but stopped when we heard a loud sound.
Me: [confused] What was that?
I looked at Amity and saw a look of horror on her face.
Me: uhh Amity are you-
Amity: [shakes her head] No. No. No. No! No! [starts running towards the sound]
Me: Amity! [runs after her] Wait up!
Luke POV
I continued to listen to what the demon was saying and talking about.
Ragnarok: I thought I was dead but I slowly started to wake up in this strange land where everything was so strange. I knew I was in a forest but the animals that were in the forest were strange. Not only they didn't have any magic power but their appearance was just strange. I saw a creature with a curvy tail, two eyes, and buck teeth. I found out this thing was a squirrel. What a ridiculous name for a creature?
I would like to say Adegust for a demon was idiotic but I kept quiet
Ragnarok: I started walking around the forest until I meant a bunch of strange creatures. They weren't witches nor were they demons. They saw me and started panicking. Some of them started throwing rocks at me, others started getting brave and started to attack me with weapons. [chuckles] It's funny really that these low level creatures wouldn't stand a chance against any other demon. But I guess that's why they have me. A lowly demon getting abused. I was able to escape but like always I was lying down in the pool of my own blood. Not the best way to die but I'll accept it. Finally I can kiss this life goodbye.
Damn what the hell kind of life did this guy leave? Better question is why am I still listening to all of this?
Ragnarok: As I was slowly dying I heard a scream that caused me to get up!
Ragnarok POV
I got up barely limping to the sound of the voice my body was aching all over. I eventually made it to some kind of clearing and saw 3 of those people attacking a girl. Betting up their own kind reminds me of something. I heard the three kids talk down to the girl calling her names like useless, trash, waste of space. It reminded me of myself. I don't know what possessed me but I went to help her.
Me: Hey [they turned and looked at me with anger but then with fear] Leave her alone.
They started to run away screaming as I watched them. I sighed can't believe they bought my bluff seeing I was about to pass out soon.
?: Umm.
I looked at the girl and was surprised she was still there but I guys girl wasn't the right word this was definitely a woman.
?: Are you ok?
Before I can say anything I passed out due to blood loss. Time has no meaning for me so I don't know how long I was out when I woke but when I did I was in a building. I sat up and looked around the room and noticed it was small. The only thing here was a bed, window, and two tables one at the foot of the bed and the other in the center of the room. I then saw the woman enter the room holding a bowl of water and a towel.
Woman: Oh you woke up. [puts the bowl down and grabs a seat and places it next to the bed] You look like you've been through a lot. I mean Jesus, what hurt you don't you know its dangers to walk around the forest at night? [dips the towel in water and squeezes the water out] I mean seriously everyone knows that. [puts the towel on my face]
Me: Your…. Not scared of me.
Women: [confused] Why would I be scared of you? You're a cosplayer right?
Me: Cosplayer?
Women: Ohhhh I get it you're one of those types who takes those roles really seriously!
Me: Uh-huh. What exactly are you and [looks around] what is this place?
Women: Hehe ok I'll play along. [puts her hand on her chest] My name is Rebecca Kendall im a human and [stretches her arms out] Welcome to the planet earth!
Human!? I heard about the human world from other demons back on the Isles. I never gave it much thought since I was too busy being beat senseless. I wondered how that portal brought me here to earth. If it was a ticket to the human world demons would have abused it long ago. A theory that I had was it matches your magic based energy and teleports you to beings who match your magic. Seeing as I was born without magic and landed with other beings without magic as well.
Rebecca: [smiles] You know me so who are you?
I don't know what possessed me to tell her who I am but I did, however I did leave out a couple of details: like how I grew up, where I was, and the friends I made. She was fascinated and enjoyed my story. I was confused by this creature but at the same time very intrigued by her. Time went on and eventually the two of us grew closer. She lived far away from a small town due to the fact she was considered an outsider to them. She told me that her parents had died of a young age and she had to learn how to defend herself at the age 10. I wish I could say the same.
Eventually I became the person she needed to let her emotions out on. Her struggles, her pain, all of them she would tell me about. She said she never had a friend willing to listen before so she was so happy. Over time I realized that we were the same, creatures who were bullied by our own kind for either being weak or an outsider. As time went on I slowly grew feelings for this cre- Rebecca and soon those feelings became neutral. She was my light to my dark life and the same can be said vice-versa.
I knew I had to tell her the truth. I did research on crossplayers and let's just say I knew I should tell her I'm not. If this is the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with I wanted it to make sure there were no lies. I told her everything about my past, my home, and who I really was.
*Slap* It's what I expected.
Rebecca: [crying] That's for lying to me. [hugs me] And that's for me not being there.
Me: W-What?
Rebecca: You might be a demon but you've proven to me that not all demons are evil. You stayed with me all these years and listened to everything I said. You saved me from a life of loneliness that I thought I had to endure for the rest of my life. [smiles with tears] Thank you so much Ragnarok.
That day made me realize someone like me was able to save. Even a low class can find some sort of happiness given time. Then she gave me some news I thought would never happen.
Rebecca: [blushing] R-Ragnarok there is something I've been meaning to tell you. [pokes her fingers together] W-well they say that two negatives can make a positive and we both have negative, or bad lifes, so m-maybe our third can have a better one?
Me: [confused] Uhh what?
Rebecca: H-how would you l-like to be a father?
Me: [shocked] Rebecca are you-
Rebecca: [nods her head] I'm pregnant
It was the first time in my life I was truly happy. Granted many questions were going through my head but at the same time I didn't care at all that matters is right here right now I'm going to have a family of my own. I already thought of the name I wanted to give him.
Luke POV
I was listening to everything about Ragnarok's story this whole time and it was like every part of my body just stopped working. It can't be true right!? The black blood sounded like a coincidence, but Rebecca was the name of my mother. But she never brought up anything about this. Why would she keep this from me!? Just then I heard the name of the boy Ragnarok had.
Ragnarok: His name is Luke Martins.
That is when my blood went cold. All the thoughts that I had just suddenly disappeared until I only said one thing.
Me: I'm a demon?
Y/N POV
Me and Amity were running towards the sound and I kept asking her what's going on? She didn't say anything, all she did was still run towards the sound. We eventually made it to the sound and what we saw was a hidden room located in the romance section of the library.
Y/n: [points] Is that a hidden room?
Amity walks over to the entrance as I follow behind her. What we saw next was Luz picking up pieces of paper. I was confused at first until I saw a little Amity glowing on the ground.
Little Amity: That dragon slayer wanted to be my friend. I don't know if I should trust him or not. Though he does seem nice and that smile-
Amity: [embarrassed] Really!?
It gets cut off when Luz picks it up before it could say anymore. That's when I realized that it was Amity's private thoughts aka her diary.
Luz: It's not what it looks like!
We hear both Edric and Emira giggling.
Amity: [mad] You two are the worst. [takes her diary from Luz, sounding hurt] But you... I've been trying to figure out what your deal is. Are, are you a poser? A nerd? I know. You're a bully, Luz.
Me: Amity.
Amity: [turns to me] This was your little plan wasn't it!
Me: What no I would never!
Amity: Yeah right [looks away with tears in her eyes] I thought I could trust you!
She started to run off as I felt hurt. Me and baby dragon both looked at each other and nodded our heads and ran after her.
3RD POV
Luz runs out and sees both Y/n running after Amity. She feels hurt because not only does Amity think she was trying to steal her diary but also Y/n's might think she's a terrible person.
Emira: Mittens killed the fun.
Edric: Again. Oh, well. We're headed out to go goblin‐tipping. Wanna come?
Luz: You're just gonna leave?
Emira: Yea with you and Luke since Y/n is kind of busy with mittens.
Luz: Look, you guys are cool. [twins nod their heads] But I need to go talk to Mittens and dragon prince. [blushes] I mean, Amity and Y/n's.
Emira: Alright then [winks] go get your man cuite.
This causes Luz to blush as she runs after Y/n and Amity. Meanwhile Y/n was able to catch up to Amity and tried to talk to her.
Y/n: Amity please just hear me out!
Amity: What do you want me to hear out!? [turns her head] All you want to do is find a way to embarrass me!?
Y/n: Amity you know I wouldn't do that.
Amity: How do I know- [gets cut off by Y/n hugging her] !
Y/n: I would never try to hurt you Amity I promise.
Amity was hesitant at first but she felt baby dragon rubbing on her leg whimpering. She could tell that both of them really didn't mean any of this and they really cared about her. She eventually nuzzles her head on his chest as some tears feel. Soon she stopped and Y/n let her go as she brushed some of the tears off her face.
Amity: I-I'm sorry for that I'm just so confused right now.
Y/n: [smiles] It's ok, it happens to the best of us. Just know if you need help I'm right here and if you need a shoulder to cry on I'm here.
Amity smiled at what Y/n's words, she knows he meant every word he said. She realized she was staring so much that she looked away blushing.
Y/n: [confused] Amity you ok?
Amity: [blushing] I-I'm fine.
Y/n was going to question but they soon heard Luz's voice.
Luz: Amity! Y/n!
They turn and see Luz running at them.
Y/n: Luz!
Amity turned her head, still a little upset about what happened.
Luz: [stops in front of them] Guys listen I just-
Amity: [walks in front of Luz] Listen to what? First you embarrass me. Then you wanna be my friend? I don't get you. Pick a side.
Luz: Wait please!
Amity: Just go away before things somehow get worse.
Y/n was going to interrupt before the conversation got worse but stopped when he heard footsteps. The group turned their heads and what they saw made them go wide eyed. In front of them was a giant pick monster that had giant fangs and claws. It's eyebrows, nails and eyes were glowing. In the place of his heart was the book Amity read to the kids.
Amity: [scared] O-Otabin?
Otabin: With claws and fangs and breaking bones, I found a friend to make my own.
Otabin tries to reach for Amity as she looks away with her eyes closed. But before Otabin could grab her Y/n's cut Otabins hand causing him to walk backwards and hold his cut hand. Amity opens her eyes and sees Y/n in front of her.
Y/n: Sorry if you want her [holds his sword in front of him] You have to get through me first!
Amity couldn't help but smile that Y/n's was willing to protect her.
Otabin: Boy with sword tries to hurt me, Boy will regret it I guarantee.
Y/n: Bring it!
Y/n dashes towards Otabin and tries to slash him but Otabin jumps away. Otabin tries to claw Y/n but Y/n blocks all of his claw strikes. Otabin goes for another claw attack but Y/n blocks it holding him in place until he pushes Otabin off him.
Y/n: Wide open!
Y/n uses the flat side of his sword and bats Otabin with it. This sends Otabin flying into a bookshelf with a loud crash. Amity and Luz are both watching with amazement.
Amity: Whoa, he's strong.
Luz: I know ri- [notices something]
Amity: [looks at Luz] What's wrong?
Luz: Something about him is off.
They both look at Y/n walking up to Otabin as he was down on the ground. Baby dragon also noticed that Y/n's was a little off as well as he starts to whimper and hide behind Amity. Otabin slowly starts to open his eyes and sees Y/n standing above him.
Y/n: *eyes glowing red* Pathetic and hear I thought you put up a better fight than that.
There was no emotion in his voice, just a tired and boring monotone voice. Y/n lifted his sword over his head and was getting ready to land the killing blow.
Y/n: Disappear.
Before he could do it he heard Otabin say something.
Otabin: All I wanted was a friend, one to laugh with [tears] to the end.
Y/n started to realize what he was doing and brought the sword down beside him as he just stared at Otabin.
Y/n: (All he wanted was a friend? Then why am I)
The memory of when he saw his father kill a dragon without any mercy started to play in his head. But instead of Igneel it started to change into Y/n's in his place and for the dragon it was Otabin as he was saying friend in the fire. This horrified Y/n's as he dropped his sword and held his hand over his mouth.
Luz: Y-Y/n?
Y/n slowly turns around as he sees a scared Amity, Luz, and baby dragon looking at him. He realized that he was the one who scared him. Before he could say anything he felt Otabin got up and grabbed Y/n by the arm, throwing him into a nearby bookshelf as it crashed on top of him.
Luz&Amity: Y/N!
They both try to run and help get him out of there but Otabin grabs them both and holds him.
Otabin: In my hands I have two friends, Now I won't be alone ever again.
He starts walking them away with them as they both try to break away from them. Baby dragon sees this and tries to attack Otabin but he slaps baby dragon away causing him to fall near the bookshelf Y/n's was in. Otabin starts to walk away again and takes the girls with him.
Y/n POV
What the hell was I doing? I was about to end a creature's life, a creature that just wanted friends. Does that make me a monster? Does that make me a freak? What the hell am I?
Zack: [muffled] I mean you are what you are?
I was shocked when I heard that voice.
Me: Zack?
I started to hear him lift up some of the books that were on top of me. As he finished he reached his hand out to me as I stared at it and looked down.
Zack: Hehe right, don't want to I get it. [sits beside me] So what's the plan?
Me: I [sigh] I don't know.
Zack: Don't know huh?
Me: I mean [gets up] I want to save them but what if I end up killing him!? Wouldn't that-
Zack: Make you a monster?
Me: [looks down] Yea.
Zack: Y/n sometimes in this or any life you'll be forced to make a decision. And what you decided will define who you are.
Me: But who am I?
Zack: Your Y/n Dragneel. A boy with a kind heart that puts others before himself. That's the one I know. But if you want to find out more you have to continue living.
I looked at Zack as he's sitting there smiling at me.
Zack: Now I'll ask again… What is the plan?
I look at where the blade is. I walked over and picked it up. When I look at the reflection I see myself and I smile as my eyes start to glow red.
Me: [smile] To save my friends.
Zack: [thumbs up] Go get'em champ.
I nod my head. I then see baby dragon walking towards me.
Me: Can you still fight little buddy?
Baby dragon: Yes I can.
I just stared at him for a minute. Did he just talk?
Me: Wait did you- [shakes my head] Questions for later right now lets go!
3RD POV
Zack's watches both baby dragon and Y/n's go and help Luz and Amity with a smile on his face.
Zack: Y/n's your going to make it big in this world [turns his head] But you're going to need help from time to time.
Zack walks over to the same dragon book that Y/n's had until he ran into Amity. Zack picks the books up and looks at the page it was open to.
Zack: Lets see here oh the ice dragon didn't think I would read about one of these. [looks around] Now where is-
Suddenly the air around Zack started to get cold to the point that he could see his own breath. Zack, still smiling, turns around and sees what he was looking for. Behind him was a blue dragon with scales that was white/blue, it's eyes were blue with a black iris, it had white/blue wings. It was growling at Zack as he was staring at him.
Zack: Shocked that the kid didn't notice you [shrugs his shoulders] Oh well [turns around and closes the book] Seems like you even closing the book aint going to put you back is it? [drops the book and cracks his knuckles] So how about I ask you want to go down easy or hard?
The ice dragon just growled at Zack.
Zack: Hard it is. [gets into fighting position] Come and get me.
Meanwhile Emira and Edric were outside on their way to go goblin‐tipping until one thought enter their minds.
Emira: Hey Ed [Edric turnds his head] did you see Mr. grouchy anywhere?
Edirc: [starts to think] Now that you mangen it, I haven't seen him since we ambushed him with snowballs.
Emira: Weird I wonder where-
Suddenly they felt the ground shake and someone screaming at first they couldn't make out who it was but after hearing the voice after awhile they knew it was
Twins: Luke!
The two of them rushed to where the voice was to see if he was ok.
Luke POV
It's a lie! It's a lie! IT'S A DAMN LIE! There is no way in hell I'm a demon! I refuse to believe that's true!
Little Demon: Uh-huh right I mean he did say th-
SHUT IT THERE IS NO WAY THAT'S TRUE!
I was going on a rampage outside blast energy at nearby trees. I even took my sword out as I just cut down anything in my path. Eventually I created a small crater as I was standing in the middle of it as I was panting like crazy. I feel on one knee. I looked up and saw the sword in front of me and when I saw my reflection I saw the little demon that made me fall back and back away from it. Before I knew it the darkness around me started to take control. I didn't have any glyphs on me so it was slowly making its way to my heart.
For the first time in my life I was scared. I didn't know what to do and that fear was making it spread more so I shut my eyes and waited to be taken over. Until I saw some light showing which caused me to open my eyes. I quickly grabbed my sword out of fear and lifted it over my head.
Emira: [shields herself with her hands] Luke it's me!
This caused me to stop my action and look closely at her.
Me: E-Emira?
Ediric: [behind her] A-and me too.
Me: E-Edric?
Emira: W-we heard you screaming and wanted to check on you.
I started processing what she said and realized what I was doing. I dropped my sword in my shadow as I fell to my knees as I looked down for a while.
Edric: [rushes to me] Luke are you ok!?
I was quiet for a bit until
Me: [soft voice] Light I need light.
Both the twins looked at each other and nodded their heads. They both went to both my sides and lifted me up. Emira had my left arm and Edric had my right arm as we started walking out of the damaged part of the forest I destroyed.
Eventually we were at a different part of the forest. Edric went to go get firewood to keep the fire going while Emira was on the other side of me watching me and the fire. Me, I was looking at the fire with my arm wrapped around my knees. I was busy trying to process all of this knowledge that I was fed.
Flashback
I was quiet after I found out what I was. I walked to the book and closed it before anything else could be said. I then put the book into my shadow. Why you ask? I-I don't know. That's when whatever restrain I had on myself was gone. I used my shadow magic and dashed out of the library. I eventually made it to the forest. I got out of my shadow and fell to my knees as I held my head with both my heads as I started to yell.
Me: Why?... WHAT THE HELL!?
Little Demon: Having a little episode I see.
I was suddenly brought into the black room as I looked at the demon with hate in my eyes. I approached him and slammed my hands on the table.
Me: You! You are going to explain right now!
Little Demon: Explain what?
Me: What the hell did you make me listen to!?
Little Demon: Oh blame such a typical human response.
Me: ANSWER THE QUESTION DAMN IT!
Little Demon: [chuckles] Temper temper geez man you need to settle down.
I had enough of this! I tried to punch him but he disappeared into the shadows. I started to look around and notice I was in a black void instead of the black room.
Little Demon: Let me ask you a question Luke. Do you really think this was your first time finding out you're not human?
Me: What the hell are you on about!?
Little Demon: Guess I have to show you.
The room changes. I looked around and noticed I was in my mom's old room. I remember always passing by it in the hallways so I knew what that was.
Me: What the hell is this!?
Little Demon: Shhh its starting.
Me: Whats start-
Before I could finish I saw a little me appear and he was holding some type of photo. I walked over to him and looked at it and what I saw made my heart sink. It was a picture of my mom and Ragnarok smiling while holding me as I was a baby.
Little Demon: Explanation time. See you wanted to know more about your father but your mother told you to wait til you're older. So instead of waiting you did whatever any 8 year old boy would do and started snooping through her stuff and found that.
Me: [shocked] B-But why-
Little Demon: Hold on it gets better.
Rebecca: [walks into the room] Luke what are you-
Little Luke: Who is this?
There was silence.
Little Luke: WHO IS THIS!?
Rebecca: Luke I-
Little Luke: He's my father right? [silence] RIGHT!? [looks down at the picture] What was he mom? Better question is what is he?
Rebecca: He's… a demon.
Little Demon: She had no other reason to lie to us so she told us the truth. She told us the full story of our father and her. Now let me ask you: what does a child do with that information? [silence] Ok I'll answer run away.
The scene changes into me crying into the woods as my younger self was getting hugged by… no.
It was her, my big sister.
Little Luke: [crying] I-I d-don't know who I am a-anymore!
Big sister: It doesn't matter if you are demon, human, or a monster. You are my little brother and I'll love you all the same.
Little Demon: Little mushy isn't?
The scene disappeared as I was back in the black room facing the door as the demon was sittin in the chair.
Me: Why did you show me that?
Little Demon: Cause it is important to the story. Tell me do you remember any of that?
I was silent for a second until I finally answered.
Me: No.
Little Demon: [smiles] Of course you don't because you suppressed it.
Me: B-But how?
Little Demon: Tell me Luke why do you think I showed you that scene with you and her?
Me: [turns around] A-are you say she had something to do with it?
Little Demon: [lifts his finger] Ding Ding Ding! Yep she is. Tell me Luke when she died how did you feel?
That's when my blood went cold. I didn't even have to answer because I already knew what he meant.
Little Demon: We were never separated Luke we were always one, but her death caused us to split into. But that's not all, in the process when we split some of your past memories came to me causing you to develop fake memories. I held all of our painful memories [points to his head] in here. [points to me] Meanwhile you made false memories about your past saying you were human all this time but in reality you were a demon. Well half demon.
I-I did this to myself? I made myself like this? He gets up and slowly his form changes into a black and white version of me.
Demon Luke: Like I told you Luke [smiles] I am you just like you are me.
Flashback Over
I just sat there staring at the fire with no emotion in my eyes.
Emira: So uhh, fires warm.
Silence.
Emira: [scratches the back of her head] Right silence got it. So uhh did you have fun at the library?
Silence.
We then heard Edric come back with some firewood.
Edric: [smiles] I got some more wood.
Silence.
Edric: [pretends to be a crowd] Yea Edric you saved us from being cold at night you're our hero yaay!
Emira: [deadpan look] Really?
Edric: [puts the wood in the fire] What I'm trying to lighten the mood? [imitates Emira] The fire is warm [goes back into normal tone] Really?
Emira: Oh I'm sorry Mr. Wood hero, what do you want me to say?
Edric: Hey at least I brought something to keep us warm!
Emira: Or we could have thrown you in there.
Edric: But I could get burnt!
Emira: That's the point dummy.
I looked up from the fire and saw the twins bicker. When I did I saw my sister in Emira's place and me in Edric's place. For some reason that caused me to smile and chuckle a little. This got the twins attention as they looked at me.
Edric: [stands up] You smiled!
Me and Emira just looked at him. He noticed and looked at both of us and started scratching his head laughing nervously.
Edric: Sorry it's just that we didn't know how to get you to talk. We didn't want to ask you what was wrong cause [looks down]
Emira: [looks at me] We thought it was personal.
I eventually let my feet hit the ground as I rested myself on the stump I was setting on.
Me: I guess I can thank you for that.
Edric: Well no problem. But can you at least tell us how we got you to smile.
I just stared at Edric for a minute.
Edric: [nervous] W-well its just I wanted to know w-what we did to get you to smile.
I was hesitant at first but I guess I have no one else to talk to so why not?
Me: You two brigering reminded me of me and my sister.
Edric: Wait, you have a sister and a brother!?
Emira: [glares at Edric] Edric.
Edric: Right sorry sorry. Continue.
Me: Well the brother thing was a lie but I really do have a sister.
I take off my necklace that I still had on around my neck and walked over to the twins. I sat in between them. I pressed the button on the locket to show them. It was a single image of me and her. I was on the right side and she was on the left. She had brown long hair with white skin, she had brown eyes. She was wearing a white dress with a matching pair of cluster earrings.
Edric: Wow.
Emira: She's beautiful.
I closed the locket and held it closed to my chest.
Me: She and I would always have fights similar to yours. [looks at the fire] That's what made me smile.
Edric: I see so when can we-
When he looked at my face, that's when he probably got his answer before he asked the question. Before anything else was set I felt the twins both hugged me. I didn't say anything as I kept looking at the fire.
Emira: [sad] It's ok Luke.
Edric: We are here you can let it out.
After they said that whatever restraints I had on myself to keep it together disappeared as I just started crying.
3RD POV
We cut back to the scene with Otiban, in the kids section, he puts both Amity and Luke on a big book as he starts to thread their hands into the pages.
Amity: Why are you doing this? I've been reading you since I was a kid. I know you're not like this. Someone changed you.
Otiban: But friends are what I've always sought. And now a friend my claws have caught.
After Otiban had said that he finishes threading Amity's right hand, as it slowly sews into the book, he then moves to Luz's arm and does the same.
Luz: [nervous] C-can't we be friends in a different way?
Otiban: [sews Luz's arm] Making friends, taking friends, never be without my friends.
Luz: You fiend. You can't rhyme friends with friends.
Amity: We are about to be sewed into a book. That's what you're worried about?
Luz: Hey at least I'm trying to think of something!
Amity: Well, it doesn't matter. We're gonna be stuck together forever.
Luz looks down in sadness, but she sees something in the corner of her eye and it was baby dragon. She smiles as baby dragon smiles back at her.
Luz: [looks at Amity] No were not.
Amity: [confused] Huh?
Luz: [shouts] Hey Otiban!
Otiban, who was busy trying to get one of the threads to the needles, stopped and looks at Luz.
Luz: You want a friend right!
Otiban nodded his head but didn't notice that Y/n's was behind him with a fire fist ready.
Y/n: Well here's your friend right here!
Y/n punches Otiban in a nearby wall as he crashes into it. Luz smiled and Amity was shocked.
Amity: Y/n you're ok! [realized what she said and blushes] I-I mean I knew you were.
Y/n and Luz giggle at Amity's reaction. They then start to hear Otiban start to get up.
Y/n: Baby dragon free the girls. [punches his fist together] This guy's mine.
Baby dragon flies up and burns off the strings that were holding Luz and Amity's arm. The girls were now free as they land on the ground.
Luz: Oh Third dimension how I've missed you.
Amity: Y/n let us help you!
Y/n: [turns his head to Amity] Don't worry I got this.
Amity: But how do-
She was cut off when Otiban was about to pierce Y/n's with his claws.
Otiban: Friend who hurts me is no friend of I, this is where you die.
Otiban charges at Y/n's, with his back still facing away from him, as he is still smiling at Amity and Luz.
Girls: Y/n!
Y/n: I won't lose because…
Y/n then grabs Otibans Claw and looks at him.
Y/n: I still need to find out more about myself.
Y/n then flips Otiban over his shoulders and slams him into the ground. Otiban lies there for a while and tries to get up but couldn't when fire rings were wrapped around his arms, legs, torso, and neck. Otiban struggles to break free but can't due to the restraints.
Y/n: [smirks] Looks like you ain't going anywhere.
Both Amity and Luz looked at Y/n with amazed in their eyes.
Y/n: Sooo [looks at Amity and Luz] You girls know how to turn him back to normal?
Both Amity and Luz just have a funny fall as they can't believe what he said.
Amity: [sighs] I know of a way. [takes out a pencil out of her pocket and writes on the big book] "Luz has to right a wrong."
A giant eraser appears and Amity hands it to Luz as Luz looks at her hurt for a second but takes it anyway. Luz climbs on top of the restrained Otiban and erases the marks that were on him. As she does this Otiban returns back to his original size as Luz falls on the ground with a loud thumb, but she catches Otiban just in time. Y/n and Amity walk up to the two, Amity helps Luz up as Y/n picks up Otiban.
Otiban: I'm sorry I don't know what came over me [tears] I didn't mean any of those harsh thing you see.
Y/n: [hugs him] Hey don't worry I'll still be your friend.
Otiban: Really?
Y/n: [smiles] Of course.
Otiban: [hugs Y/n] Thank you friend.
Everyone watches them and they both were happy with what Y/n did, as baby dragon looked a little jealous.
Luz: [rubs baby dragons back] Don't worry boy he won't replace you.
Amity closes Otibans book as the three look at each other and sighed knowing that it was over.
Luz: Well I guess we still have to clean up.
Y/n: [rubs the back of his head] Yea don't want to get into any trouble.
Both Luz and Y/n's started heading out to clean up, with baby dragon on Y/n's head. As Amity watches.
Amity: Wait! [both Y/n and Luz stop and look at Amity] W-well you two might not know where to put certain books at [rubs her arm] S-so I can help so you don't mess up.
Both Luz and Y/n look at each other and chuckle at Amity's response as she just turns her head and blushes. The two accepted her help as the three started making their way out. As they were, they hear baby dragon growling at something.
Y/n: [looks at baby dragon] Hey what's wrong bo-
What everyone saw in front of them was the giant Ice dragon that escaped from the book. What they really noticed was that it was restrained by some chains and it had a lot of bruises and marks on it.
Luz: [scared] I-Is that a d-dragon?
Amity: [shocked] But how?
Y/n: [realized] The book. I forgot I dropped it! [looks at the dragon] But why does it look like it's been through a battle?
Before the group could answer they heard a voice.
Zack: Aaah you guys are done?
The group looked on top of the dragon to see Zack sitting on it while reading a book.
Y/n: [shocked] Z-Zack!?
Zack: [jumps down and lands in front of the group] Hey Y/n. While you guys were busy with Otiban [pointing his thumb to the dragon behind him] I had to deal with this big guy here. I tried closing the book on him but it seems like he had a mind of his own [chuckles] who knew huh?
The group just stood there in shock.
Zack: Anyway you three look like you've been through a lot so let me handle the clean up.
Zack stretches both his hands and begins to draw a circle. While doing so a giant circle begins to form around the whole library. When the circle finishes everything around the library starts to go back to normal as if nothing had happened before. The only thing that was still there was the dragon.
Zack: [looks at the dragon] And as for you. [opens the dragon book on the ice dragon page and draws a circle] Time for you to return! [snaps his fingers]
As soon as he does this the dragon's restraints pull him inside the book forcing the dragon back into the book without any problems. As the dragon returns into the book Zack shuts the book and looks at the others.
Zack: [walks up and hands it to Y/n] Probably should learn a little bit about your kind. Without the wailing starts effect hehe [starts to fade] Welp looks like times up [waves] See you guys later!
Zack vanishes leaving the group wide mouth and shocked by what they just saw. But the person that was very shocked was Y/n's.
Y/n: THAT WAS SO AWESOME!
TimeSkip
We are seeing the sun rising with the group exiting the library.
Luz: What an adventure.
Y/n: You said it.
Amity: [walks past them] This never happened.
Luz: Wait. It doesn't make up for reading your diary but would you wanna borrow this? [holds out Azura 5] I noticed you only had up to four.
Amity looks at the book then back at Y/n's when he nods his head telling her to take it.
Amity: [takes it] Thank you. [starts to walk away, stops; sighs and turns around] Maybe you aren't a bully. I haven't exactly been the friendliest witch either. I'll think about that. [walks away]
Y/n: Amity wait! [Amity stops in her tracks.] I really meant what I said before. I really want to be your friend and help you achieve your dream. [holds out his hand] So what do you say? [smiles]
Amity turns around and sees him holding his hand out with that same smile as before. She looks at it with a smile of her own and blushes. She walks up to Y/n and takes his hand and shakes it, but then she does something that shocks everyone. She kisses Y/n's on his cheek. When she pulls away she gives Y/n a caring smile while Y/n is blushing like crazy.
Y/n: I you my cheek kiss what!?
Amity: [giggles and blushes] I'd love to be your friend Y/n.
Amity starts to walk away living a blushing and confused Y/n's. Meanwhile Luz was watching with a single thought in her mind she now has a love rival.
Back with Luke
After Luke had finished crying, as the twins continued to confront him, Luke sat there as the sun started to come up.
Luke: [sniffs] I appreciated that.
Edric: [rubs his back] No problem, remember we are here for you when you need it.
Luke: [chuckles] Thanks.
Emria: Yea whenever you want to talk we'll listen.
Luke was happy that he had friends like them and others to still be there for him.
Edric: [gets up] Welp we better to be getting back home now
Luke: [gets up] Yea same here.
Emira: Need us to walk you back
Luke: Nah that's fine I'll be ok [starts to relize something] By the way where did Luz and Y/n go?
Edric: Oh they went back to check on Amity.
Luke: [confused] Amity? Why was she there?
Emira: Oh she found out that we were about to publish her door over the school for everyone to see.
Luke: ….. What?
Edric: [nods his head] It's tough love.
Though the twins were happy they then felt a cold chill which made them look at Luke. But when they did their faces went pale.
Luke: [angry] You two did what?
The two had to sit through a whole lecture of Luke telling them how wrong they were and lets just say that there are some words he said will not be said here. After he was done the twins started to head back home ready to appoligast to Amity for what they were about to do.
Luke: [pinches the bridge of his nose] Damn and here I thought I was going to get a break for being the adult here. Hopefully those two learned their lesson.
Luke was about to keep walking but was stopped by someone hugging him from behind.
Emira: I'm glad that you are back to your old self.
Luke: uh-huh thanks for helping me
Emira: Aww I like this side of you [sly smile] Although [whispers in my ear] I like your moody self better. It makes you hot
Luke: [light blushes] (Of course she would say that.)
Emira giggles and goes to kiss Luke on the cheek but is stopped by Lukes fingers.
Luke: Nuh-uh no kisses.
Emira: [pouts] What why?
Luke: Because you still need to apologize to Amity first.
Emira starts to whine when Luke says that but Luke decides to mess with her for a bit. He kisses Emira cheek which causes her to let go of him.
Luke: That was for helping me out [whispers in her ear] and if you are a good girl I'll give you another someplace else.
Luke starts to walk away leaving a blushing Emira.
The scene cuts back to Y/n and Luz walking back home. As they were walking Luz was wondering something, besides the Amity kissing his cheek.
Luz: [stops] Hey Y/n
Y/n: [stops] What's wrong Luz?
Luz: Do you hate your dad?
There was a moment of silence until Luz kept going.
Luz: I-Its just that [looks down] Every Time someone brings him up your mood changes like your not interested in him [looks at Y/n] So do you-
Y/n: It's not like I hate him, it's [sighs] confusing.
Luz: Y/n.
Y/n: It's just that some people see my dad as a hero, the hero who saved the boiling isle from a terrifying dragon. They say he's done so many great things but [squeezes his hands] He's hurt so many people. He left his friends, killed his own kind, and he left me and my mother to defend ourselves on our own!
Fire started to surround Y/n's that caused baby dragon to fly into Luz's hands.
Y/n: My mother and I had to find ways to survive on our own! She would always tell how amazing my dad was, how much he was the best person she has ever meant, BUT WHERE THE HELL WAS HE WHEN WE NEEDED HIM THE MOST!? [eyes glow red and tears were falling] WHEN I CAME HERE I THOUGHT I COULD FINALLY UNDERSTAND WHY HE LEFT US ALONE BUT ALL I HEARD IS HOW MANY PEOPLE HE HURT! BUT AT THE SAME TIME PEOPLE WOULD SAY HOW HE HELPED HIM SO KNOW I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FELL! SHOULD I HATE HIM OR UNDERSTAND HIM I DON'T KNO-
Before Y/n could finish Luz hugged him trying to calm him down.
Luz: [tears falling] I'm sorry I didn't know you felt like this!
Y/n stopped his rant as he starts to hold onto Luz's arms as he starts to cry.
Y/n: [crying] I-I'm sorry L-Luz I'm j-just so confused right now. W-What if I turn out l-like him?
Luz: You won't.
Y/n turns around and looks at Luz.
Luz: You're kind and sweet. You have provin, with your fight with Otiban, that you don't fight to kill either. You won't leave anyone [rubs her forehead on his] and I'll be there with you to prove it.
Y/n just hugs Luz as she hugs him back. Y/n is so happy he has someone like Luz by his side. As the two pulled away they looked at each other's eyes and were slowly coming closer to kiss until they heard a branch snapped on the ground. They turned their heads and saw Luke walking out.
Luke: Hey guys.
Luz: Luke! [runs up to him] You look horrible!
Y/n: [runs up to him] Yea man are you ok?
Luke: Yea just kinda went through a lot. Lets just head back already ok?
Y/n and Luz wanted to question Luke but they can see he really has been through too much so they decided to drop it and started walking back home.
Luke: Guys [both Y/n and Luz stop as Luke walks up and rubs their heads] I'm glad that we all became friends.
Both Y/n and Luz were caught off guard from Luke's response and were happy about it. They walked up and hugged Luke as baby dragon flew on Y/n's head. Luke just smiles and lets the hug happen.
The scene changes to the group opening the door and walking in.
Luz: Hi, guys. Were… [Everyone is asleep, snoring, on the green couch, Eda holding the baby bats and King on her lap.] Home.
Y/n: Aww that's so cute.
Luke: Got to say I'm impressed.
The door then swings open, startling the group.
Hooty: Ding dong!
Luke: [glares] Hooty really!
Then a giant woman's head with bat wings crawls inside the door and in the living room.
Luke: Uhhh Mama I'm guessing?
Bat queen: Yi Yi. Mama is I. And I is the Bat Queen. [whistles]
The baby bats fly away from Eda, settling into Bat Queen's hair.
Bat Queen: Aah! Snuggle dumplings.
She throws up a treasure chest, which opens to show several hundred snails. Bat Queen spits an Aztec death whistle on top of the snails.
Luke: [grossed out] That's disturbing.
Bat Queen: For troubles. Eda is owed one.
She squeezes back out of the doorway and flies away. Luz closes the door.
Eda: [sleep talking] Ah. Sweet babies. [wakes up] Babies? Where are the babies?
Luz and Y/n mimes flying away.
Luke: Mama took the babies away.
Eda: Oh. And I just taught Junior how to pick locks too.
Luke: That's disturbing.
Luz: Your night looks very successful. Look at all that money you made. And look at this cool whistle that scary woman gave you. [spit drops off the whistle] I'd wash it before you use it.
Eda: [sad] Yea. We did it for the money.
King: I miss my babies [hugs Eda]
Luz: I actually got you something from the library. [She hands Eda a book titled "Coping with Empty Nest Syndrome."]
Eda: [chuckles] Thank's kid. So how was your kids' night?
Luz: Good. Then bad. Then maybe good?
Y/n: Good. Then bad. Emotional. Confusing. Then [blushes] Good.
Luke: It could have been better but [quick glance at Luz and Y/n] It ended on a good note.
Out of nowhere the door opens.
Hooty: Hey, you wanna hear about my night?
Everyone minus Luke and Y/n: Ugh No!
King: That's not a thing anyone ever wants.
Timeskip
Everyone is now sleeping in their beds to put another day behind them. But when then cut to Luke's dream.
Luke POV
I was sitting on the chair with the demon in front of me as we both just drink the black coffee in silence.
Me: [puts the cup down] So that was your plan huh?
Little Demon: What? Oh you mean when you found out about your terrible past and I took control? Yes yes it was.
Me: I see.
I get up and start making my way towards the door.
Little Demon: What no more questions?
Me: [facing away from him] I know no matter what I ask you're just going to dodge the question without giving me real answers. So instead I'm just going to continue to do what I can to keep you from taking control.
I started to walk out but said one more thing before I left.
Me: But I guess you can call this a win.
Little Demon: [confused] How so?
Me: [smiled] You failed to take control.
I walked out leaving the demon by himself.
Demon POV
*sigh* Sadly he's right about that I did fail to take control. *looks at a chessboard and moves one of the pieces* Looks like you made a good move. *smiles* But with every failure I can learn. I now know the only way for me to get out of here *sees a picture of all of Luke's friends he's made smiling* is to eliminate a few lights. Once I do that then that will be checkmate. *gets up and heads for the door* Enjoy victory while it lasts Luke cause soon failure and death will follow. hahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
