9. Chapter 9: Definition of a friend

We are shown a scene, 2 years ago, where a little Luke is walking around the halls with his backpack on. Luke is wearing his same black wear and same deadpan attitude he has. He made it to his locker and started to do the combination. He opened the locker and was about to grab the things he needed for his next class, until he was cut off by a random blond girl and her group of friends, this was Heather.

Heather: Hiya Luke whatcha doing?

Luke: *sighs* getting ready for my next class.

Heather: *smirks and hums* A hard worker. I like that.

Girl #1: Yea men who work hard are so fascinating.

Girl #2: And great.

Girl #3: and successful

Heather: *glares at the group* shut it girls.

Girls: Yes Heather!

Luke: *sighs* The hell do you want with me Heather?

Heather: Well you see i'm throwing this super awesome party this weekend *rubs Luke's shoulders* and I wanted you to come join me.

Luke just gave Heather a bored expression and just took her hand off him.

Luke: Not interested.

Heather: *shocked* What why?!

Luke: Because I have better things to do than to hang out with you.

Heather: *angry* Like what!?

Luke was about to say something until two voices stopped him.

?: LUKE!

Everyone turns their head and sees a young Luz and Y/N running up to him.

Luz: *in front of Luke excited* Guess what me and Y/N were planning to binge watch the whole Azura series!

Y/N: Yea and we wanted to see if you wanted to join!

Luke just gave his friends a blank look and was about to say something until Heather cut him off.

Heather: *scoffs* sorry freaks but Luke has more important things to do then to hang out with the both of you.

Y/N and Luz turned their heads and saw Heather and her group around Luke's locker.

Luz: *nervously waves her hand* H-Hey Heather how's it going?

Heather: Ugh it would have gone better if I didn't have to see your hideous face.

Girl #1: Yea who did your makeup for your mommy.

The girls started to laugh as Luz looked down in sadness as some tears were starting to form. Y/N notices this and stares at Heather with hate.

Y/N: Hey! *the group looks at Y/N* Unlike you she actually looks beautiful.

Luz looks up at Y/N, smiles and blushes at his compliment as Heather just glared daggers at Y/N.

Heather: Like a little freak like you would know anything about beauty. Maybe you should ask your mommy.

Girl: #2: But Heather he doesn't have one.

Girl #3: Not anymore.

Heather: *fake gasp* Oh right I forgot.

The group starts to laugh as Y/N starts to get really pissed off. He was this close to almost attacking Heather but was held back by Luz. Luz understood why he wanted to do that but she didn't want her friend to get expelled or worse. But that's when Luke decided he has had enough.

Luke: *sighs* Heather, would you leave them alone already?

Heather: Why should I? They're nothing but a couple of freaks that deserve this.

Luke: Because your comments are annoying me and at this point I think the principle should be involved in all this.

Heather: *smirks* and what's he going to do? If you have forgotten my daddy is rich he can pretty much have me scotch free in a second.

Luke: Oh i haven't forgotten *walks up to her ear* I also haven't forgotten about the illegal drug dealing he does.

This made Heather go wide eyed. How did he know about that? Luke pulled back with a devilish smirk and started to walk away after closing his locker. He put his backpack around his back and signaled his friends to follow him. Both Y/N and Luz were confused by what Luke said to her but still followed him anyway. Heather who was watching this started to get upset and decided to really speak her mind.

Heather: Why Martins!? Why did you feel the need to stick up for them?! You are nothing like them! Why did you even hang out with them in the first place!?

This made Luke stop walking as both Y/N and Luz looked at Luke.

Heather: You are so much better off without them! They just hold you back in being better than anyone here! So just ditch those losers and-

Before Heather could finish she looked at Luke whose eyes were just soulless. This made everyone, even Y/N and Luz scared.

Luke: *emotionless* Leave. I won't ask again.

Heather's group already ran out seeing Luke's cold eyes while Heather, who was scared stiff, slowly started to regain her will to move again.

Heather: Y-you know I'm right, Martins. Maybe you should ask yourself why do you hang out with them?

Heather begins to walk off leaving the group of friends alone.

Luz: Luke are you-

Luke: Let's just go.

Luke begins to walk leaving a worried Y/N and Luz as they start to catch up to him. Luke was thinking about what Heather said. Why does he hang out with trouble makers like Luz and Y/N?

A few years later.

Back at principal Hal's office the group and Luz's mother begin to exit the office getting ready for the bored summer camp program. Before they leave, principal Hal stops a certain person.

Hal: Luke I want to have a word with you for a minute.

Luke looks back at the principle as Y/N and Luz look at him with worry.

Luke: Go on ahead I'll catch up later.

They were about to say something but were cut off by Camilia telling them they needed to get ready. The two friends had no choice but to leave, leaving Luke and Hal alone.

Hal: *sigh* I would like to apologize, Luke.

Luke: *confused* For what?

Hal: For all the pressure I put on you for watching them.

Luke: Oh.

Honestly this was a little new for Luke never once has someone said this to him.

Hal: That is I want to help you.

Oh boy here we go.

Hal: Luke, you are an amazing student. Your grades are one of the best this school has ever seen.

Luke: (Wouldn't go that far.)

Hal: But due to your record it might be difficult for you to get into a great school. And none of it is your fault.

Luke: *sighs* What's your point sir?

Hal: Luke, as you know you should watch out for what kind of people you hang with. You hang with a bad crowd and it could affect your future. I'm not telling you to not stay with them. I'm asking why do you choose to stay with them?

Luke was quiet as he was asked the same question again. Why does he hang out with them? It has been a question people would never stop asking him.

Luke: [sigh] For my own reasons sir.

Hal: [sighs] Very well enjoy summer camp Luke.

Luke: [bows his head] Thank you sir.

Luke walks out of the room repeating the words in his head. "His own reasons" Yet he doesn't know what they are.

The events at the conjuring. Luke is staring at the ceiling while the twins are on the phone as they ask Luke the same question as before.

Edric: [puts his scroll away] Hey Luke.

Luke: [still staring at the ceiling] Yea?

Edric: Well we've been wondering.

Luke: About?

The twins just looked at each other then back to me.

Emira: Why do you hang out with us?

This made me stop looking at the ceiling and look at them who had sad expressions on their faces.

Luke: Uhh what brought this up?

Edric: Well it's just that not a lot of people tend to stay away from trouble makers so they don't get in trouble either

Emira: And to be honest you look like someone who doesn't like to hang out with trouble makers. So why hang out with us?

Luke: (If only you knew who I hang out with.) [sighs] Well if I'm being honest you make life less boring.

That was the right answer wasn't it?

Luke: Doing the same thing day in and day out gets kind of dull in my opinion 'trouble makers' makes life more fun, sorta speak.

Was he wrong? Do troublemakers really make life more fun or do they make it more problematic? As time went on Luke slowly started to doubt that the answer he gave the twins wasn't really the answer he was satisfied with. Currently Luke was sitting in the black room staring at the cup of coffee as the voices in his head asking him the same question.

?: Why do you hang out with them?

?2: You have so much potential but they are holding you back. So why do you waste your time with them?

?3: Why choose to hang out with annoying people instead of people who aren't?

Then suddenly Luz, Y/N and the twins appeared in his head asking him.

Group: Why hang out with us?

Luke just looks up and sees the demon drinking his coffee.

Little Demon: You have been quiet for quite awhile. Something bothering you?

Luke: Like you don't know?

Little Demon: Hehehe you're not wrong.

Luke: [puts his elbow on the table and rests his head on his hand] Why do we hang out with them?

Little Demon: Didn't you already give your answer to that question?

Luke: I did but *sighs* for some reason I'm not exactly satisfied with that answer. [looks at his hand] I feel like it was just another lie that I made up.

Little Demon: Could be who knows?

Luke: What about you?

Little Demon: What about me? As you know *grins* I want to kill them.

Luke: *sighs* Of course.

Luke gets up and heads for the exit with a lot on his mind.

Luke: Thanks for nothing.

As Luke exits the room he slowly opens his eyes and looks around and sees that he's back in his room in the owl house. As he looks around and sees Y/N sleeping with baby dragon on his chest. Luke just stares at him for a while until he hears a familiar voice.

Luz: *mumbles* so fun *mumbles*

Luke stands up and sees Luz on the other side of Y/N hugging him. Luke was just watching confused on how that happened.

Flashback

Y/N was flying in the sky as he saw the Owl House he slowly started to make his way down. As soon as he got there he put his fire wings away and approached the door with a big smile on his face. That was until the door opened to reveal Luz in her sleep clothes, and arms crossed.

Luz: What took you so long!?

Y/N: *flinches* W-well it took longer than I thought [nervous smiles]

Luz was looking Y/N up and down as he started to analyze him for any injuries. She didn't find any so all she did was sigh and hug him.

Luz: I was really worried about you.

Y/N was taken back by this but hugged her back nonetheless.

Y/N: I'm sorry Luz I'll make it up to you.

Luz: How about now?

Y/N: *confused* Huh?

Luz: [pulls away and smiles] Take me flying!

Y/N: Wait what?

Luz: You heard me. I want you to carry me and take me [stretches her arms above her head] high in the sky.

Y/N just stares at Luz for a bit but couldn't help but smile at this.

Y/N: Ok I'll do it. [looks at baby dragon] You should stay here buddy you look exhausted.

Baby dragon nodded his head weakly as he was tired. He starts making his way inside the house. Y/N walks up and picks up Luz bride style as Luz lets out a little squeak, wraps her arms around Y/N's neck and blushes.

Y/N: You ok?

Luz: [blushing] F-Fine just wasn't expecting that.

Y/N: *smiles* Hehe ok [summons flame wings] Hold on tight.

Luz starts to hold on tight as they slowly start making their way into the sky. As they got to the sky Y/N started to fly smooth and steady. As Luz looked around she couldn't help to look around their surroundings. She sees the clouds, the town below them, and the shine of the moonlight. Just then Luz looks at Y/N and sees his eyes shining from the moonlight and hair blowing in the wind. She couldn't help but blushed from looking at him.

Y/N: Enjoy the view Luz?

Luz: [in a trance] When I'm with you yes.

Y/N: Huh?

Luz: [blushes] I mean yes loving the clouds and moon.

Y/N: [chuckles] Ok.

They continue to fly around as Luz just keeps looking at Y/N and mutters something.

Luz: I wish we can stay like this forever.

Y/N: [looks at Luz] You say something Luz?

Luz: [hugs him tight] Nothing. Just keep flying.

Y/N: [confused] Oh ok then.

Y/N just kept flying as Zack appeared beside them.

Zack: How come I was the one that heard it and not you? *sighs* But [smirks] look at you getting two girls.

Eventually the two came back from their little flying trip. Y/N walked up and opened the door holding Luz in his arms as he was feeling exhausted.

Y/n: [weak] hehe guess I should watch how much magic I use.

As Y/N was making his way to Luz's room he felt her grip tighten.

Luz: *mumbles* Y/N *mumbles* stay.

Y/N looked down at Luz. He was too tired to protest so he walked Luz to his and Luke's room. He puts Luz down on his bed as he laid beside her. He slowly shut his eyes as he drifted to sleep. Unknown to him Luz wrapped her arms around Y/N's body and baby dragon started to fly slowly and landed on Y/N chest.

Flashback End

Luke just stares at the two friends as he just shakes his head.

Luke: Gees let me know when you two want to spend some time together.

Just then the voices in his head return, repeating the same question again. Luke grabs his head and groans.

Luke: [looks at Y/N and Luz] *sighs* Why do I?

Luke slowly starts to make his way out the room to get ready for the day and to see if what he said before was true.

Timeskip

The scene changes with Eda, King and Y/N is ravaging through boxes. Luz is holding baby dragon as she rubs his head with a little blush on her face. Luke is reading his father's book so he can learn more about him. Luke notices Luz blushing and decides to tease her for a bit.

Luke: Sooo sleep well Luz?

Luz: [twitches] Y-Y-Yep! I slept great!

Luke: Huh really? You are a lot more jittery than usual?

Luz: [blushes as she waves her hand] It's just your imagination Luke [gives a nervous laugh]

Luke: [nods his head] Uh-huh. [looks at Y/N how about you Y/N sleep well.

Y/N flitches as he drops a random object on the ground.

Eda: Hey! You break it, you buy it!

Y/N: S-sorry Eda.

King: Gees you ok Y/N? Looks like you didn't sleep well? What did the night critters bite you or something?

Luke: I believe something or someone else was biting him.

This caused both Y/N and Luz to blush madly as Y/N threw a lamp at Luke and Luz threw a Pillow at him causing him to fall on the ground.

Luke: *groans* Worth it.

Eda: [confused] Ok then? You two sure you're ok?

Y/N&Luz: YES!

They both looked at each other and looked away blushing. Eda was about to question it more until the door opened to reveal Gus.

Gus: Guys I need your help!

Y/N&Luz: (Thank you Gus.)

Luke: *groans and sits up* [rubs his head] What's up Gus?

Gus: [looks at Luke with concern] Uhh what just-

Luke: Long story but continue.

Gus: Oh right. [clears his throat] I need you three to come to hexside.

The three looked at Gus confused.

Luke: Uhhhh Why?

Gus: Well you see this new kid just came into the H.A.S. Human Appreciation Society with some human artifacts which I know for a fact are fake.

Y/N: So why do you need us?

Gus: To prove to them they are fake.

Luke: For some reason there is more to this isn't there?

Gus: [scratches the back of his head] *nervous smile* I kind of also said I would bring real humans as a witness.

Luke: [facepalms] Goddamn it Gus.

Gus: Look I'm really sorry but I need your help [pleads] please!

The three looked at each other and then backed at Gus.

Luz: Sorry Gus we love to help you but-

Luke: [points to their wanted posters] We are still banned, remember.

The screen shows the three friends wanted posters below Eda's poster.

Y/N: Pretty sure Bump would lose his head if he found us there.

Zack: [chuckles] Wouldn't be the first time.

Eda: If you ask me, Bump did you three a favor. There ain't nothing for you at that dweebus factory. [to Gus] No offense, dweebus.

Gus: It's okay. I come from a long line of dweebuses.

Luke: [sweat drop] (That's not something to be proud of Gus.)

Out of nowhere Luz gets up aggressively scaring baby dragon into Y/N's arms.

Luz: Well, I would love to go some day. Better than unpacking boxes in the Eda Coven.

Y/n&Luke: Oh boy.

Eda: Oh, you think you're clever huh? [stands up]

King: [jumps off the couch onto a box] Ooh! Fight, fight, fight!

Y/N: [stands up in between them holding baby dragon] Now hold on lets just calm down and-

Luke&Zack: Bad move Y/N.

Eda&Luz: Stay out of this Y/N!

Y/N flinches and slowly starts to make his way over to Luke who just watches the scene.

Luke: Life lessen Y/N never get in between two women fighting.

Y/N: [neverous] N-Noted.

Eda: Can it, King! First off, it's the "Bad Girl Coven" and second off, I guess you don't want in on the T‐shirt order, huh?

Eda pulls out a paper with a Purple t-shirt with the words "Bad Girl Coven" with lightning around it and Eda surfing on Owlbert.

Y/N&Luke: [sweat drop] (What about us?)

Luz: I don't care about T‐shirts, Eda! I want to learn magic, [gestures to Gus] and they teach that at Hexside!

Eda: I mean, yeah, well, [grunts, leaves]‐‐ I don't wanna hear another word about Hexside, unless it's "Hexside is on fire" and "let's grab front row seats"! [slams the door]

King: Aw, look what you did. I'm gonna go rub it in. Nyeh! [laughs, leaves]

Y/N: W-well that happened.

Luke: Sounds like a win for Luz if you ask me.

Luz sighs and sits on the couch.

Gus: L‐Luz, a‐about the ban, I, uh, used my H. A. S. presidential authority to pull some strings. You guys have been given a full pardon!

Luke: Say what?

Luz: Gus do you mean-

Gus: I got the ban lifted!

Y/N places baby dragon on the ground and runs up to Gus.

Y/N: [gribs his shoulder with excitement] Seriously!?

Luz: Oh my gosh. [shakes Gus] Yes, yes, yes! Of course we'll be there tomorrow! Gus, this will be great! [jumps on the couch] We get to see the school and save the president.

Y/N: Heck yea!

Luz jumps off the couch and lands in Y/N's arms. He caught her and spinned her around. He stops and holds her close to his face as they both laugh with excitement. They both realized how close they were and what just happened as they both blushed a deep shade of red. Y/N puts Luz down gently and just awkwardly moves his arms.

Gus: Uhhh what just happened?

Luke: [shrugs his shoulders and smirks] Don't know what happened guys?

Luz&Y/N: NOTHING!

Zack: Ahh young love.

Gus: Ooook? [looks at Luke] What about you Luke?

Luke: *sighs* I'll pass.

Luz: What why?

Y/N: Yea don't you want to learn more about magic?

Luke: Well I am. [lifts up his book] By reading about it.

Luz: But you can learn much more at the school, come on Luke.

Luke: [gets up] No thanks you guys can have your little magic adventure without me.

Luz: But we always do things together.

Luke: By together you mean me being dragged in.

Y/N: Oh no.

Luz: What is that supposed to mean!?

Both Gus and Y/N started to back up a bit to notice another argument was going to happen.

Luke: Oh I don't know, maybe if you paid attention I'm the one who gets dragged into [points at Luz] Your's and [points to Y/N] his messes.

Luz: Hey we apologist for it!

Luke: [sarcasm] Oh right I'm sorry I'm pretty sure that should just [snaps his fingers] magically fix it.

Luz: So what would you rather us not saying anything about it!?

Luke: I'm saying that you should actually think that your actions have consequences and it could affect other people!

Luz: Well excuse us for just being ourselves! What would you rather we be someone that we're not!?

Luke: I want you to grow up and think instead of acting like a child!

Luz: [angry] Then why do you waste your time hanging out with us if it bothers you so much!?

There was a moment of silence. Luz has asked that same question that people have been asking Luke. Different wording but still the same.

Y/N: [walks up to them] Listen guys lets just respect each other's decisions. [looks at Luke] Me and Luz are going to hexside to help Gus. [looks at Luz] Lets just let Luke stay here so he can learn magic his way. [backs up a bit and looks at both of them] Ok?

Both Luz and Luke looked at each other and then turned their heads to Y/N.

Luz&Luke: Fine/Whatever.

Gus: I'll uhh [starts backing out to the door] see myself out.

Y/N: [waves] Sorry you had to see that. See ya later Gus!

Gus: Yea see ya.

Gus opens the door and walks out and closes it behind him. Y/N looks back at his friends and notices them still not saying anything to each other. He was about to say something but Zack cut him off.

Zack: It's better if they worked it out themselves.

Y/N nods his head he picks up baby dragon and starts making his way upstairs to get ready for Hexside. Meanwhile Luke and Luz were standing at the same place with Luz back facing Luke.

Luz: You know I can see how Y/N and I were able to become friends but I never understood why you and I did.

Luke looks down at the ground as he listens to Luz.

Luz: I'm not saying I hated you for being my friend. As you remember you and Y/N saved me and helped me when no one else would. I was so happy I finally had people I could call friends. But as time went on I started to ask myself why did you two choose to be my friend? I asked Y/N and his answer was something I'll always cherish in my heart. But I never asked you [turns around and looks at Luke] Why did you want to be my friend Luke?

Luke just continued to look down at the ground as he tried to find the right words to say. Part of him wanted to say the same thing he told Emira and Edric but for some reason he still feels that was just another lie he was telling himself. The only thing that came out of his mouth was

Luke: I-I don't know.

Luz just looked at Luke and sighs, she turns around and starts walking to the stairs. She stops and tells Luke something.

Luz: I know an apology can't fix anything but I am sorry for all the trouble we caused you. You probably should leave before we make your life worse.

Luz starts heading upstairs leaving Luke by himself. Luke then hits his back on the wall and drops down as he just stares at the ceiling. Did he really not know? Did he really not have an answer for her? If that's true then why? Why is he still here with them? Why anything?

Luke: [sighs and closes his eyes] Another point for you Luz.

Timeskip

Y/N is walking down stairs and sees Luke in the same spot he was in before.

Y/N: Guessing you guys had a big talk huh?

Luke just nods his head as he still had his eyes closed.

Y/N: Look I know a lot happened but I'm pretty sure the three of us will be laughing like nothing ever happened. [chuckles]

Luke: (I wonder.)

Y/N: [looks at his watch] Welp we better get going. [yells at the doorway] Hey Luz we have to go!

Luz: Coming!

Luz starts making her way downstairs in her same usual clothes ready for anything.

Luz: Time to show them what we humans can really due!

Y/N: Heck yea lets go!

Y/N starts heading out the door while Luz was going to catch up, but she sees Luke in the same spot as before. She looked at him with a worried expression and was about to walk up to him but decided against it and walked outside and closed the door behind her.

Y/N: Alright let's get going!

Luz: [sad] Yea.

Y/N: Hey what happened to all that energy before?

Luz: I *sigh* it's just that I feel like I hurt Luke.

Y/N: Oh well [scratches the back of his head] Luke is a strong guy he likes to keep somethings to himself. For now all we can do is give him some space and let him talk when he's ready.

Luz: You really do know him, don't yea?

Y/N: Ehh not as much, just enough.

Luz: [giggles] How did you two become friends anyway?

Y/N: A long and complicated story.

Luz: Well hopefully I could hear it sometime.

Y/N: (Trust me you really don't.) Anyway let's head out!

Luz: Yea!

Y/N Picks up Luz bride style again, which she blushes cause she is still not used to it, and begins to fly off to hexside.

With Gus and Willow

Willow: This isn't gonna work out at all.

Gus: Well, I feel like I took care of any potential problems.

Willow: You lied to our best friends and told them the ban was lifted. That seems like a potential problem to me.

Gus: You don't understand. The members were going mad. They were bloodthirsty. They were touching objects. I had no choice!

Willow: Really? What about all the wanted posters around school?

Gus: [pulls the wanted posters out of his bag] What wanted posters? I also got this. [pulls out a cowl] To keep her undercover.

Y/N and Luz walked up to them since Luz wanted Y/N to land a little further way from the school…. She was embarrassed to be seen in Y/N's arms.

Luz: Undercover from what.

In a panic Gus forced a cowl over Luz's head freaking out Y/N.

Y/N: Gus what the hell man!?

Gus: Sorry sorry she scared me. [clears his throat] Behold your new cowl and uhh [holds another one out for Y/N] one for you as well Y/N.

Luz: *muffles* I love it.

Y/N takes the cowl from Gus and goes over and helps Luz with hers. Eventually Y/N helped Luz with her cowl as their faces were right in front of each other making them blush and back away. Y/N put his cowl on him and looked at it.

Y/N: Huh not bad.

Luz: [smells it] On the Boiling Isles new things smell old.

Gus: Yep. Put it on. Hide your ears. [chuckles] Wanna keep you under wraps 'till the big reveal.

Y/N gives Gus a confused look but just shrugs his shoulder and puts his cover on his head as Luz does the same.

Luz: Oh, a showman. I totally get it. You bring the razzle, [pulls the hood back up] I'll bring the dazzle. [Luz throws handfuls of confetti. Willow and Gus stare at her.]

Willow: [looks at Y/N] Does she always have confetti on her?

Y/N: [nods his head] You'd be surprised.

Willow just looks at him confused but realizes something.

Willow: Hang on, where is Luke?

This caused Luz to look down in sadness while Gus tried to explain.

Gus: Oh right I forgot to mention he didn't want to come. He had some research to catch up on.

Gus had left out his and Luz's argument to respect their business. Willow looks at Gus then back at Luz to notice she was sad. She was going to ask what happened until Gus' alarm went off. Gus pulls back his arm sleeve to reveal a little demon biting his arm.

Y/N: D-Does that hurt?

Gus: A little but there is no time for that we better get going. [drags Luz and Y/N away] See you after school, Willow.

Y/N: Hope to see ya soon Willow!

Luz: Bye, friend. Be safe. Make good choices.

Willow watches Gus drag Luz and Y/N into the school.

Willow: Oh, Gus. I hope you know what you're doing. [turns around and looks at the woods] I hope you are alright Luke.

Luke POV

Why? Why Why Why WHY!? Why do people keep asking me that same question!? And why now of all times can I not answer it!? I don't know!? Like come on Luke how can you not know after 4 goddamn years!? I just sigh as I slowly start to get up off the ground. I noticed baby dragon walking up to me as he just watched.

Me: *sigh* At least you don't have any problems to think about.

The dragon just looked at me with confusion.

Me: All you have to do is eat and sleep. Your life is simple while me and others are just complicated. We ask questions only to just get an unsadisflyed answer or try our best to find a better answer. Sadly I can't even answer my own question.

The dragon just walked up to me and rubbed his head on my arm as I just watched. I shaked my head and rubbed his head.

Me: Talking to a dragon man I have lost.

Eda: I'm trying to protect them. Hexside chews up anything unique and spits out bland mush.

I hear Eda from the otherside of the door. I slowly start my way towards it as baby dragon follows me.

Hooty: I chew insects. I turn them into mush.

Typical Hooty responses.

Eda: But that's my beef. Does she need to draw her own conclusions?

Hooty: My beef is insects. They're what I eat.

Eda: You're just gonna be unhelpful, huh?

Before he could answer I opened the door and looked at Eda.

Me: Maybe I could be more helpful.

Eda: Thought you would go

Me: [sits beside her] Nah decided to stay here.

Both Eda and Luke sat in silence for a bit until Eda said something.

Eda: *sighs* Look I get i'm not the "Best teacher"

Luke: Oh far from it.

Eda: *glares* But *looks at the sky* I just don't want you three to get corrupted by Hexsides rules.

Luke: I see. *sighs* Look I get your experience with hexside might have been bad but that doesn't mean ours will be. Who know maybe we might enjoy it

Eda: But-

Luke: If you're worried about us being a part of that one convent system don't be. *stands up* We came up to learn different sorts of magic there is no way some little system is going to stop us from doing so *looks at Eda* because we had a decently smart teacher to warn us about it.

Eda just looks at Luke surprised for a bit and just smirks at him.

Eda: Not bad kid.

Luke: *smirks* Learn from the best.

Hooty: And besides [both me and Eda look at Hooty] you taught me and I turned out just fine.

He sticks out his tongue in an attempt to get the fly walking next to his head, making a gagging sound.

Me: [looks at Eda] Need me to say anymore?

Eda: [looks at Hooty in concern] Nope that's all I needed. [gets up] Well let me get you kids into school.

Me: Mind if I go with you?

Eda: *shrugs* Eh Not really lets go kid.

Me and Eda started making our way towards Hexsied as we were walking. I was wondering what was making me go with her? Didn't I just want to read my book and learn magic at the house? I don't know, maybe I'll find the answer at Hexsied.

3RD POV

The scene changes to Y/N, Luz and Gus walking around hexsied. As they were walking Y/N sees a Beast keeping student's backpack getting lifted in the air, as he falls off of it. Y/N looks to the side and sees 2 other students laughing at him as they bring the bag towards them.

Student#1: Hey! Give that back!

The Other student laugh as they hang the bag above the other students head. Y/N was getting annoyed by this and was about to go over and stop him but saw 2 strange people with an upside down mask, wearing a black outfit with a blue outline and a little triangle in the middle, holding a cane. One of them uses his cane to grab one of the bullies and pulls him close to him as he sniffs him.

Guard: *Creepy voice* Trouble.

The first student's backpack falls to the ground as the third backs away nervously. He is also caught by a hook.

Student #3: Huh? [grunts] No! Detention!

Student #2: [being dragged away] The only thing I'm guilty of is being too real!

The three friends watch this in shock.

Luz: That's new.

Gus: Well, they kinda showed up after your last visit. They smell trouble. Literally.

Guard: Trouble.

Zack: Well dang Bump even you didn't go this far back in the day.

Y/N: (How bad was it back in the day?)

Zack: Lets just say I was surprised the 4 of us were never really expelled.

Y/N: (That bad huh?)

Y/N was suddenly pulled from his thoughts when he felt Gus grabbed and pulled his arm.

Gus: [chuckles] Okay, time to run for no particular reason.

As the group started to run, Gus ended up running into someone. He was a teenage boy with beige skin, dark brown eyes, and straight brown hair which is shaved at the sides. He wears the 'Construction track' school uniform, which consists of brown sleeves and leggings, which is covered by a grey tunic and a small darker grey cowl over it. This is Mattholomule.

Mattholomule: Augustus, you should really watch where you are going. Don't want the president of the H. A. S. getting hurt on his last day in office. [picks up and dusts off the crown]

Y/N: (Geez what with this guy?)

Mattholmule: [looks at Y/N and Luz] This must be your humans Hmm. Looks like witchlings to me.

As both Y/N and Luz look at Mattholmule they hear Gus say something.

Gus: Psst. Psst! [pulls his ears] Dazzle.

Luz: Oh. [trumpets, pulls the hood down] Ta‐da!

Y/N: [chuckles as he takes off his hood] You really know how to make something exciting don't you Luz?

Mattholmule: [shocked and gasp] Humans!

Gus: Not just any humans. [points to Luz] An expert Human [points to Y/N] and the son of Igneel Dragneel.

Mattholmule: [surprised] W-W-What!? The son of Igneel!? There is no way!

Y/N: [scratches the back of his head] Yea I get that a lot. [whispers to Gus] Probably we should keep the number of people that doesn't know to a minimum

Gus: They're here to authenticate your treasures. [takes his crown back, walks past Mattholomule] See you at the meeting.

Mattholmule: Oh, no, no, no, no! [sinks to the floor] They can't know I lied. Then they'll never make me president. Even worse, they will look up to the so-called son of Igneel Dragneel [notices something on the ground] Huh?

Mat picks up two wanted posters of Y/N and Luz off the ground as he starts to smile and laugh.

Mattholmule: Ooh, Gus, I have you now.

The scene changes to both Eda and Luke in front of Hexsides building staring at it.

Luke: Huh weird I haven't been away from this place for so long but shockingly I missed it.

Eda: Well don't worry you three are going to be seeing it a lot.

Eda begins to walk a bit but then stops.

Eda: You never really told me why you stayed back there.

Luke: [confused] What?

Eda: [turns around a face Luke] Why didn't you go with them?

Luke: *sighs* Me and Luz got into a little argument which made me stay behind.

Eda: Esh that bad huh?

Luke: Yea.

Eda: Well [puts her hand on her shoulder] Pretty sure you three will laugh like nothing ever happened.

Luke: Heh Y/N said the same thing. [begins to think]

Luke looks back at the school and stares at it for a bit but then suddenly the voice in his head came back asking the same question making him frown for a bit.

Eda: You alright kid?

Luke: *shakes his head* Just trying to find an answer to a question I've been asking myself.

Eda: [curious] What kind of question?

Luke looks at Eda and sighs. He didn't know why he was going to talk to her about it but he decided to anyway.

Luke: Why do I hang out with troublemakers?

There was a brief silence until Eda started to talk.

Eda: Well I don't know if this helps but Y/N father used to hangout with me because he found my little pranks interesting.

Luke: [raised an eyebrow] Really?

Eda: Yea yea its weird even I didn't understand it at first. But I guess he really meant he knew it was a way that I expressed myself in a way.

Luke remembers he said the same thing to Emira and Edric when they asked him why he hung out with them.

Eda; [looks at Luke] I can't say that's the same for you but hopefully that will point you in the right direction for the answer you're looking for.

Luke just looked at Eda for a bit and did a little smirk.

Luke: Wow the Owl lady giving helpful advice [crosses his arms] are you going soft on me?

Eda: [glared daggers at Luke] In your dreams. [starts to walk towards the entrance] Now I can't wait to get rid of you.

Luke just chuckles a bit as he thinks about what Eda said. Maybe that really is the answer to why he hangs out with him. Maybe his self doubt is making him think otherwise. He starts to walk and follow after Eda.

Back with Y/N and Luz. The group was in the hallway.

Gus: As president of the H. A. S., I should feel bad about dunking on one of our own members. But as a Gus I feel like doing this: [dances] Oh, oh, yeah Oh, yeah, what, oh

Y/N: [chuckles] You go Gus.

Luz: Hey Y/N look at this!

Y/N turns around and walks over to where Luz was. She was looking at a trophy case. He was able to read some of them like: "Oldest student", "The Um, Actually Award" Noah Ital and

Luz: Wow! Who got the trophy for the most bones?

Y/N: Who would make a trophy for that? [notices something] wait is that-

Y/N sees a trophy that says "Strongest dragon slayer" Igneel Dragneel.

Luz: Wow! That's so cool!

Y/N: Huh I wonder how he got that?

Before the others could admire it a guard suddenly appeared sniffing around. Gus sees this and grabs both Y/N and Luz's arm and starts running.

Gus: We don't have time for this right now. We gotta get to the clubroom.

Y/N: Ok but you have to give us a full tour next time.

Gus: Yeah, next time. [laughs]

As the three stop running when they see the abomination teacher, when they first enter here, reading a book as his abomination is carrying him.

Y/N: Hey Luz isn't that

Luz: The abomination professor. I should introduce myself. Apologize for the incident. Hey, Mr. Abomination Professor. The "abominominator." Remember me? [roars]

The abomination professor looks at Luz and narrows his eyes.

Gus: Oh, wouldn't you know? We suddenly have time for a full tour of Hexside.

Gus starts to push Luz as Y/N walks behind them trying to figure out what's going on.

Y/N: (Is it just me or Gus is more nervous than usual?)

Zack: Strange.

The scene changes with Luke and Eda in Bump's office sitting down in the chairs. Eda takes a pencil from the open mouth mug as it looks at her as she takes it.

Luke: *shutters* (Can never get use to this place)

Eda: Been quite a while since I've sat here, huh?

She puts the pencil on her top lip and reclines in the chair, crossing her feet next to Principal Bump's name plate. He stares at her shoes.

Luke: (Our teacher.)

Eda: I gotta admit it's extra weird without you yelling at me for picking fights or stealing.

Bump: I can easily change that.

Bump draws a circle as green magic covers his hand. The green magic slowly starts to form around Eda. Bump then flicks his wrist and knocks Eda off the desk and chair as she lands on the ground with a loud thud.

Luke: *snorts* Nice.

Bump: [moves his name plate back] What are you two doing here anyway Edalyn?

Eda: [gets up and dusts herself off] I want to‐‐ [blows a piece of her hair] Prft! I want to enroll my humans, Luz and Luke, and my dragon slayer Y/N at Hexside. And before you get all judgy‐‐

Bump: That's not a bad idea.

Luke: Huh that was easy.

But Eda didn't register what he said.

Eda: You no-good-

Luke: Teach he said he would let us in.

Eda: [Shocked] Wait what really?

Bump: [walks over to a file cabinet] I think the student body could learn a lot from having such an exchange student. For the young Dragneel I believe the son has a lot of potential that we can help unlock (And also I believe in what Zack said as well)

Luke: And me?

Bump: The teacher back in the Illusions class told me about you Martins. I would be a fool to let such good talent go to waste.

Luke: [smiles and bows] Thank you sir.

Bump: Well mattered [looks at Eda] Are you sure you taught him?

Eda: Hey! [looks away as she puts her feet back on the desk]

Bump: But before I even consider that, there's a lot to be answered for.

Eda reclines on the desk again. Principal Bump magically turns her upside down without looking. He pulls a stack of files out of the cabinet.

Luke: *snickers* Hope I can learn how to do that. [gets kicked in the back of the head] Ow!

Eda: Anway [sits back up in the chair] I heard all about that abomination incident.

Luke: Something I want to forget.

Bump: Oh, I'm not talking about Luz and Y/N. I'm talking about the necrotic experiments, the graffiti, the scams, the cheating, Miss Jenkinmeyer's teeth.

Luke: Why do I have a bad feeling?

Bump: The trouble you caused when you were here, Eda.

He drops the pile of paper and books onto the desk. Eda looks at the page on top, which reads, "PERMANENT RECORD -~- EDALYN CLAWTHORNE"

Luke: *looks at the record* [sweet drops] Geez and I thought Y/N and Luz's record was bad.

Eda: Sad part is I thought there would be more.

Bump: Once you get all this clean up they are welcome to Hexsied.

Eda just looks at the paper and sighs.

Eda: Looks like I got a lot of work to do.

Luke: Is it alright if I help?

This not only shocked Bump but Eda too though you could see it on Bump's face instead of Eda.

Eda: [looks at Bump] Can he?

Bump: I don't have a problem with it.

Luke: You take one half of the list and I'll take the other half.

Eda: [smiles] Smart fair warning kid what I've done probably won't be easy to clean.

Luke: Well I've been with Y/N and Luz for a while cleaning up their mess so it's not something I'm used to.

Eda: *shrugs* Alright then let's get started.

Bump: Wait. Eda may I have a word with Mr. Martins?

Eda: Sure thing Bumpkinds.

Bump: Please never call me that.

Eda: [takes half the list] Welp see ya later kid and good luck. [walks out and mutters] Your going to need it.

As Eda walks out leaving Bump and Luke by themselves.

Luke: Something wrong Principle Bump?

Bump: Well I'm more surprised that you are willing to go this far for getting your friends in school.

Luke: [confused] But aren't I helping myself get in as well.

Bump: Remember what I said I would be a fool to not accept you here. This is for allowing both Luz and Y/N in.

Luke: I see.

Bump: I just wanted to ask why are you trying to help them here?

Another, Why, question for Luke. Instead of saying I don't know or for his business Luke said something else.

Luke: There are my friends, no other reason.

Bump: [scratches his chin] I see. Very well that will be all.

Luke nods his head and takes the other half of Eda's list and makes his way out. As Bump watches he starts to think about a familiar scenario he had with a certain dragon slayer.

Bump: Why do you help them Igneel?

Igneel: They're my friends.

Bump: Friends huh?

As Luke was walking out of Bump's office he started to think about what he said to Bump.

Luke: Shockingly I don't regret calling them my friends but still why am I their friend is the question i'm trying to answer.

He thinks back on Igneel's reason for why he stuck around with Eda.

Luke: Maybe I am the same. [shakes his head] Well anyway let me look at this list to help these idiots get into school [reads the list] "Clean out the throw up clogged in the drain in the teachers lounge"... What the hell did I just read?

With Y/N and Luz. The three were currently sitting in one of the stands looking down at the Grudby court. There were two basketball hoops on both sides and the girl Skara was at the pitch.

Y/N: Wow, kinda reminds me of basketball back at home.

Gus: This is where we play the sport.

As Skara tries to go and grab the ball a griffin ends up catching her in its claws as she screams.

Skara: I hate this game!

The griffin ends up dropping her into one of the basketball hoops. A horn blares. Both Luz and Gus clap as Y/N watches.

Y/N: [Sweet drop] So a little different then back at home.

Zack: She was lucky she got a griffin. I [shutters] Got something worse.

Gus notices a guard sniffing around the air and decides to grab both Y/N and Luz's arm and drags them away from the court. The three run back inside and start to walk around the school again. As they were walking Y/N looked inside one of the rooms and saw a lot of plants.

Y/N: Hey Gus. What is this place?

Gus and Luz walk over and look inside.

Gus: This is the Plant homeroom.

Various students in Plant uniforms are tending to the greenery. A carnivorous plant eats Amelia, who had been standing next to it with a clipboard. Willow runs over and tickles the plant's stem. It laughs and spits Amelia back up. She gives Willow a thumbs-up.

Luz&Y/N: *waves* Hi Willow!

Willow turns around and waves to her two friends. She then sees Gus stick his head out and wave at her as well.

Gus: [nervously] Hi.

Willow stops waving and gives Gus a disappointed head shake. Y/N was about to question it until Gus grabbed both Y/N and Luz's arm and ran off.

Gus: Bye.

The three make it towards a door. Gus opens the door and inside around them are mirrors, books, and the twins with another Illusions student with the illusion teacher.

Gus: And this is where I spend my time. The Illusion Track Homeroom.

The professor evaluates three students' illusions. Emira doubles the length of her legs. Edric changes his face, outfit, and hair style. The third student is shaking as they draw their spell circle and accidentally remove their facial features. The student starts to freak out a bit until the professor draws a spell circle and their face returns.

Y/N: That was interesting.

Luz: [turns around] Wait, if you're here, who is that?

Both Gus and Y/N turn to see what Luz was talking about and they see another Gus in a different classroom writing on a piece of paper.

Gus: That's one of my illusions. Take notes for me when I'm not around.

The Illusion Gus finished writing on his piece of paper and holds it up and shows the group. It says "I'm not paying attention." as he laughs and points at it.

Gus: He doesn't always do what he's told.

Y/N: Got to say you are good at this.

Gus: Yeah. I moved up a couple grades.

Twins: Y/N! Luz!

Both Y/N and Luz turn and see both Edric and Emira walking up to them.

Y/N: *Turns and smiles* Hey guys hows it going?

Emira: Oh nothing, just showing our teacher our Illusion magic.

Edric: It's easy if you ask me. Anyway, what are you two doing here?

Luz: [Gesture Gus] Gus here is giving us the tour of the school.

Edric: And how are you liking it so far?

Y/N: It's awesome! I'd love to learn more!

Luz: [nods her head in agreement] Same here!

The twins and Gus giggle at this. Emira started to notice something.

Emira: Hang on, where is Luke? [sly smile] there is something I want to give him.

Edric: *shutter* Em, please don't say it like that.

Y/N: Oh he wanted to stay behind.

Emira looked disappointed but she then noticed that Luz had a sad expression on her face. She was about to ask what's wrong until Gus's watch went off.

Gus: Oh! Time for the H. A. S. meeting.

Before Gus left he gave his clone a death glare as he dragged both Luz and Y/N by the arms as they went to the H.A.S. room. The twins watched them run off.

Edric: Well that was something.

Emira: Yea.

Edric: [looks at Emira] Something wrong.

Emira: Did you notice Luz got sad when I brought up Luke?

Edric: [puts his thumb on his chin] You think they got into an argument or something?

Emira: Maybe. Hopefully he's ok.

Edric: Aww come on Luke is a tough guy.

Emira smiled for a bit but then she remembers the time she saw him crying. It was like the world around him had ended when she saw him cry.

Edric: [looks at Emira with concern] Maybe we should go talk with him.

Emira: You think so?

Edric: Yeah, he's our friend after all.

Emira: [smiles] Look at you acting mature.

Edric: [offended] Hey I don't act I am!

Emira: Whatever you say Ed.

Edric just pouts as he and Emira start walking off.

The scene changes to the H.A.S. door with the students in there banging on the table screaming humans over and over again.

Gus: You guys ready.

Y/N: [nods his head] Yep all excited!

Gus smiles and walks inside to talk to them. Y/N was ready until he looked to the side and saw Luz sad.

Y/N: [walks up to her] Hey you ok?

Luz: *sighs* Hey Y/N do you ever wonder why Luke hangs out with us?

Y/N: [rubs his neck] Sometimes I do but I try not to think about it too much.

Luz: [looks at Y/N] Why?

Y/N: *smiles* Because all I need to know is that he is our friend. He is there when we really need him the most. As long as he doesn't do anything to actually try to hurt us or use us that's all I need. Because a true friend is there by his friend's side and helps them no matter what.

Luz just looks at Y/N in aww then thinks about what he said. Luke did have every opportunity to leave them both to sufforer on their own but instead he stayed by their side. He never tried to use them for his own gain and he never tried to hurt them purposely. He was there for his own reasons and as much as Luz wanted to know what they were she also still felt happy that he still stuck around with them.

Luz: [smiles] Thanks Y/N maybe I've just been overthinking this. I need to apologize to Luke when this is over.

Y/N: [smiles] That's the spirit.

Gus: Now without further ado

Y/N&Luz: [sweet drop] Geez how long was his speech?

Gus: Let me first introduce you to the female

Luz smiles and begins to moonwalk into the doorway as she does this she almost tripped as she catches herself. Y/N chuckles a bit.

Gus: [Luz takes off her cowl] Luz, the Human.

Eileen: [squeals]

Bo: Such showmanship.

Unicorn boy: She's horrifying.

Gus: And for the Second Half Human

The group: Half Human?

Gus: The son of Igneel Dragneel.

This made the three of them shocked even more as they looked at the door with even more intrigued.

Y/N: [Facepalm] (Damn it Gus. Well at least I can show off a little then)

Zack: Knock them dead kid.

Gus: Introducing

Y/N walked into the doorway with his cowl still on his head covering his eyes as he smiled.

Gus: Y/N Dragneel!

Y/N pulled up his cowl and showed off his red eyes as he summoned fire in his right hand as it spelled out "Hello"

Y/N: [smiles] Nice to meet you.

Everyone who watched this was looking at Y/N with complete shock.

Unicorn Boy: [whispers in excitement] T-The son of Igneel is here.

As for the females, including Luz, they all stared at Y/N with complete blushes all over their faces.

Girls: (He is so hot.)

Mattholomule: [watches in disbelief] *whispers* Oh come on!

Zack: [whistles] Look at you when can you be this smooth?

Y/N: [confused] (What I'm just making an epic entrance. Did I do something?)

Zack did an anime fall as he landed face first.

Zack: The fact that you don't know what happened is scary.

Y/N just shocked his head and put out his fire as he walked to the otherside of Gus. Mattholomule starts to panic a little.

Gus: Luz, Y/N, would you both mind expecting these items.

Y/N: [smiles] Of course Mr. president. [looks at Luz] Ready Luz?

Luz: [breaks out of her stare] Huh? Oh yes. [clears her throat] Allow us to determine if they're truly of our realm's origin.

Luz reaches for the "shoe" as Y/N for the Phone. But before they grabbed it they were stopped by Mattholomule.

Mattholomule: Stop! [knocks the Human artifacts off the table] Don't make another move, human and Dragneel! [jumps onto the table; calms down] I... have something to say. I'm new here at Hexside. M‐Making friends has been hard so I lied. They're all fakes.

The group looked at him in shock.

Mattolomule: I thought if I was important enough people would like me. But I've caused enough drama. So, I'll go. I'm sorry.

Y/N: [walks up to him] Hey, [Mattolomule looks at Y/N] You don't have to lie to get people to like you. True friends [smile] Well like you for being you nobody else.

Mattolomule: [smiles] Thank you, your majesty.

Y/N: [sweet drop] Uhh you can just call me Y/N.

Gus: Mattholomule, you aren't alone. You have a place here in the H. A. S.

Unicorn boy: You're not alone.

Bo: We admire your honesty.

Unicorn boy: Your one of us

Mattholomule: Thanks guys I know you understand.

Y/N puts pats Mattholomule back as he smiles at him. The girls sees this and couldn't help but smile and blush at how friendly he is.

Unicorn boy: Anyway [gets up in Y/N face] ARE YOU REALLY IGNEELS SON!?

Y/N: [stutters] I uh well I yea.

Unicorn boy: Is such an honor to meet an actual dragon slayer! I heard you guys are as tough as nails, is that true!?

Y/N: Uhh well [remembers the time when he fought] Yea we are.

Unicorn boy: Wow!

Bo: E-Excuse me Mr. Dragneel.

Y/N looks behind him and sees the brown hair girl.

Y/N: [waves his head] Please calm me Y/N.

Bo: O-Oh ok Y-Y/N I just got to say y-y-you are really [blushes] cool.

Y/N: [Rubs the back of his neck] Oh uhh thanks your pretty cool to

Bo: [blushes] T-Thanks.

Luz watches this from afar as she crosses her arms and watches him get surrounded by the H.A.S. members. No she wasn't jealous that Y/N was getting all the attention… well not entirely. She was jealous because some of the female members were surrounding him and complimenting him.

Zack: Huh. You know I wanted my disciple to be better but this is just ridiculous.

Luke POV

I am currently walking the hallways as I was exhausted as hell. Damn Eda what the hell did you do when you were here!? I stopped walking for a bit as I made it into the front entrance of the cafe.

Me: A little rest should help me out.

I was about to walk but felt two familiar magic energys behind me.

Me: And I could possibly use a little less friends as well.

This must have stopped their little plan as I turned around and saw both Emira and Edric, holding a megaphone in both their hands. Are they trying to make me go deaf?

Me: [deadpan] What the hell?

Edric: M-M-Mr. Grouchy [draws a circle as the megaphone disappears] We were just looking for you.

Me: And was about to damn near kill my ears.

Emira: Oh come on it wouldn't have hurt that bad.

I just gave them an are you serious look as they chuckle nervously as I just sigh.

Me: So what's up with you two?

Edric: We just finished our class.

It took so much willpower for me not to laugh.

Me: Ok seriously what were you two doing?

Emira: [hurt] Oh come on you don't believe us.

Me: No.

The twins seemed hurt by my comment as I just smirked.

Edric: Meany!

I just did a light chuckle of this.

Emira: [rolls her eyes] Anyway [looks at Luke] What are you doing here?

Me: Cleaning up my teacher's mess she made in school.

The twins gave me a questionable look which is something I'm not surprised about.

Emira: Ooook? Why?

Me: *sigh* It's to help me and my friends get into Hexside.

Edric: *excited* What really!? [gets in my face] That means we can see each other more often!

Oh right I completely forgot about that. Emira then came up to my ear.

Emira: *whispers* Which means I can get some "private" time with you.

This made me shiver a bit to make me think about what kind of alone time this woman is talking about.

Me: Yea [backs away a bit] well anyway I'm planning to get some rest for a bit.

Edric: Oh can we join you?

I could say no but knowing these two there will bother me until I say yes.

Me: [sighs and walks into the cafe] Whatever.

3RD POV

Back with Y/N and Luz they had just finished answering questions about the human world and about dragon slayers. The H.A.S students started to make their way out as they waved at them.

Unicorn boy: Hope to see you both again soon! *whisper* I still can't believe I got to meet the son of Igneel *sighs* Dreams do come true

Y/N hears this and has a little sweat drop.

Y/N: [rubs the back of his head] (Well that was interesting)

Bo: U-umm Mr- I mean Y/N [Y/N turns around] U-uhh it was nice meeting you.

Eileen: [nods her head] Hm-hmm

Y/N: [smiles] It was nice meeting you girls too.

This caused both the girls to blush and smile while Luz was looking at the scene with a frown and her arms crossed.

Bo: [pokes her fingers together] W-Will we see you a-again?

Y/N: Of course I'd like that.

Both girls blushed harder as they squealed and started to left the room with smiles on their faces.

Bo: See you again Y/N!

Eileen: Hm-hmm!

Y/N watches the girls leave as he was still smiling.

Y/N: What nice girls.

Zack: Uh-huh though I'm pretty sure the other nice girl isn't going to be so nice to ya.

Y/N: Wait what are you-

Y/N was cut off with a sudden chill that came behind him. When Y/N turned around he saw Luz standing in front of him with her arms crossed and a smile on her face. For some reason every part of his body was panicking telling him that the smile she had was not friendly.

Luz: Soooo [gets in Y/N face] You enjoyed those girls all over you didn't you?

Y/N: [scared] W-W-Well I j-j-just wanted to answer their question.

Luz: Oh really?

Y/N: [gulps] Yes.

Luz: *whispers in his ear* You and I are going to have a talk later.

Y/N: Ok.

Zack: [rubs his chin] Huh this reminds me of the old days.

Mattholomule: Hey [Y/N and Luz turn around], Augustus, Luz, Y/N, thank you for being so forgiving.

Y/N: Hey don't worry too much about it.

Luz: We've all been the new kid before. Right, Gus?

Gus: Yea.

Y/N: [gives a thumbs up] Just know we got your back man.

Mattholomule: Well, I just have one thing to say…

Before anyone could say anything else the door suddenly opened to reveal the school guards.

Mattholomule: [points at Luz and Y/N] There they are! [pulls out Luz's and Y/N's wanted poster] They're the intruder!

School Guard: [sniffs around and looks at Y/N and Luz] Trouble.

Luz: No, it's fine. The ban has been lifted.

Y/N: Yea Luz's is right tell them Gus.

Suddenly both guards used their hook to catch both Y/N and Luz and dragged them away.

Luz: Gus tell them!

Y/N: Hey come on!

Both Y/N and Luz were now dragged away from the room leaving Gus and Matthlomule alone.

Matthlomule: Oh, who's the liar now, Augustus?

The scene then changes to Willow watering the carnivorous plant.

Willow: Maybe I've been too hard on Gus. I mean, what trouble could they get into?

Luz: Help!

Both Willow and the plant turned their heads toward the door and saw both Luz and Y/N being dragged by the guards.

Luz: [screams] We don't even learn here!

Y/N: We did nothing wrong!

Willow: Luz! Y/N!

Back with Y/N and Luz

Luz: Where are you taking us!?

School Guard: Detention.

Luz: Oh. That doesn't sound too bad.

Y/N: Uhh Luz.

Luz turns her head to see what Y/N was looking at and what she saw made her face go pale. What the two friends were looking at was a giant door with three eyes. The door then opens its red and yellow eyes and the bottom of the door lifts up to reveal a mouth filled with sharp teeth.

Y/N: What kind of Detention is this!?

Luke POV

Edric: And that is why mom doesn't trust me with a pet.

I just stared at Edric as he just told me his whole story of why his mother wouldn't keep a pet. Why did I sit through this?

Me: *sigh* Thank you for sharing that Ed.

Edric: *smiles* Thank you Luke [looks at Emira] See at least someone has interest in my stories.

Emira: Why would I be interested in them when I was there when it happened?

Edric: Well you're not there all the time.

Emira: But I'm pretty much there most of the time.

Edric: Well at least be someone surprised.

Emira: *stubbers* What the, that doesn't make any sense!

Edric: You don't make sense! *sticks his tongue out*

I just sit and watch the twins continue to bicker. For some reason it was just so satisfying to see them like this. Suddenly the door opens, a lot of dust starts pouring out until a familiar figure can be seen from it. It was Eda carrying a bag, and covered in purple goo and ghost falling off her? Ok things just continue to get weirder in this place.

Edric: Hey Luke *points at Eda* Do you know that person?

Me: Nope, I have never seen her before in my life.

I guess she must have heard me cause she started to approach our table.

Eda: Oh ha ha kid, very funny. Worried I'd embarrass you in front of your friends.

Me: Not really you are already embarrassing enough [gets hit in the head by Eda's free hand] Ow!

Emira: *giggles* You really need to know when to be nicer to girls Mr. Grouchy.

Eda: Take advice from your girlfriend kid.

Me: [laying my head on the table] Not my girlfriend.

Emira: Not yet.

I really hate these two. Suddenly we heard footsteps approaching this cause me to look up and saw principle Bump with a smile on his face.

Bump: Ah there you two are. So how goes the clean up?

Eda: *Groans* [sets the bag on the ground] The girls' changing room is ghost‐free.

Bump: [nods his head] I see [looks at me] And you Mr. Martins.

Me: Well just finished cleaning up the throw up clogged in the teachers lounge. [glares at Eda]

Eda: Huh I forgot about that.

Bump: I see so are either of you ready to throw in the towel.

I was about to raise my hand until we all heard voices behind us. I saw two girls talking and practicing magic.

Bo: No, like this.

The brown hair girl drew a circle and summoned a ball of fire that turned into a snowball? How the hell? It then splats on the table.

Skara: [gasps] Oh.

The pony tail girl does the same but her looked a little bit bigger

Skara: Wow. [both hug each other] Friendship is the real magic.

Me: That was so corny.

Edric: [hands together] But so sweet.

Eda: They're just as bad as Luz and Y/N. They'd love it here.

Me: No kidding.

Eda: [turns back to Principal Bump] All right. What's next, Bumpikins?

I slightly chuckled at that nickname. Suddenly Bump took out a plunger with a huge grin on his face. Eda on the other hand tried to hold up a smile as she was groaning. This caused me to chuckle a bit.

Eda: [glares at me] Laugh it up kid [smiles] But enjoy your little work.

This made me stop as I shutter. The twins noticed and started to giggle a bit.

Eda: Welp I'm off see you around kid.

Eda started to walk away leaving me with Bump and the twins.

Bump: Which reminds me, Mr. Edric and Ms. Emira. What are you two doing with Mr. Martins?

Emira: Well you see sir we wanted to make sure that Mr. Grouchy

Me: Please stop calling me that in front of others.

I then heard Bump hold in a laugh. Huh what goes around comes around.

Edric: Make sure he gets the work done.

Bump: [rubs his chin] Really? Well I wouldn't expect Mr. Martins to need someone watching him.

Edric: [beside Bump] Well sometimes the person you trust the most

Emira: Is the person you least expect to do something wrong.

There is no way that-

Bump: You make a point.

What the hell?

Bump: Very well make sure to keep an eye on Mr. Martins.

He begins to walk away. What the heck? How in the world did he believe any of that!? I suddenly see him look back at us and give me a wink. Oh that bastard he is purposely leaving these two with me. I hate him so much.

Edric: Hey would you look at that we can spend more time with each other.

Emira: [hugs me] And I can get *whispers in my ear* closer to you.

Bump you monster.

Me: *sighs* Well at least I got more people to help out.

The twins begin to chuckle as I just give them a blank stare.

Emira: Oh did you forget?

Edric: We are watching you so you do the work not helping.

Me: Oh you mother-

Emira: [cover my mouth] But if you finish quickly *whispers* I'll give you a special reward.

I just stayed quiet as I removed her hands from my mouth and began to walk off to finish the list. The twins followed close behind as we just kept walking so I can finish this to help my friends out. Though I kept asking myself why I just decided to keep doing it for some reason.

3RD POV

Y/N and Luz were currently hiding behind rocks in the detention room trying to figure out a way out of here.

Y/N: I can't believe that Mat guy put us in here!

Luz: Y/N please calm down.

Y/N: [looks at Luz] Calm down!? He lied to us Luz he played us!

Luz: Yea but-

They're conversation was interrupted when they heard the door open. They looked over the rock they were hiding behind to see both Gus and Mattholomule getting thrown inside as the door closed.

Mattholomule: [Runs up and bangs on the door] Get me outta here! Open up!

Gus: [looks up and sees Y/N and Luz] Y/N! Luz!

Luz: Gus! I thought you said the ban was [sees Y/N walking over to them] Y-Y/N?

Gus: [sees Y/N walking] Y-Y/N l-listen I-I'm sorry I d-didn't mean to-

Y/N walks past Gus as he makes his way towards Mattholomule.

Mattholomule: Let me-

Y/N: YOU!

This caused Mattholomule to stop banging as he slowly turned around and saw Y/N walking up towards him, with a look of pure rage.

Mattholomule: [scared] Y-Y/N I can explain I was just-

Mattholomule gets cut off by Y/N grabbing him by the collar and lifting him up as he slammed him onto the gate.

Y/N: [sinister] Shut. The. Hell. Up.

This causes both Gus and Luz to slowly get scared.

Y/N: All that stuff you said about wanted friends was all a lie wasn't it?

Mattolomule didn't say anything at first, since he was scared, but he then felt Y/N grip tight as fire was slowly starting to form in his left hand, he was holding Mattolomule with.

Y/N: I asked you a question. Was what you said a lie? [Mattholomule was silent] ANSWER ME!

Mattolomule: [Scared] Y-Yes I did!

Y/N: Why? Tell me why?

Mattolomule: I-I just w-wanted power!

Y/N: So you want power huh? [summons fire in his right hand] Let me show you what real power looks like [eyes glow red] and feels like.

Y/N was about to punch Mattolomule in the face until someone wrapped their arms around him. Y/N looked back and saw Luz holding his arm.

Luz: Y/N please don't.

Y/N: Why shouldn't I [look at Mattolomule] From what I can tell he deserves this? Why should he get off scotch free?

Luz: You're right he is a jerk but that doesn't mean we need to stoop down his level to. Be better than him. [tears started to form in his eyes] Please.

Y/N was still glaring daggers at a scared Mattolomule, with fire still in his right hand, he then started to see Zack beside him giving Y/N a "do what you think is right" look. Y/N just looks down as he lets out a sigh and lets Mattolomule go. Mattolomule fell on the ground as he was breathing heavily, still scarred out of his mind.

Y/N: Why Gus?

Gus, who was watching and was still a little bit scared, heard Y/N.

Y/N: [hurt] Why did you lie to us?

Gus: [looks down in shame] I-

Gus was cut off when the ground started to shake forcing the group to turn around. They saw the ground starting to open as the whole room had a giant hole in it. The others looked down at the whole and what they saw horrified them. What they saw inside the hole was teeth, eyes, and blue tendrils and pods, inside of which are students. Luz lets out a loud scream as she holds Y/N.

Y/N: Ok what the actual hell!?

Luz: [scared] How is this detention? This is a death sentence!

Gus: I don't know! I've never been in detention before!

Mattolomule: Welcome to my world. Believe it or not, at my old school I was in detention plenty of times.

Y/N: [eyes glow red] *glares* Somehow I'm not surprised.

Luz: Y-You are kind of a jerk.

Mattolomule: [flinches] W-Well, down in detention, this jerk is king. So, if you wanna get out, you better do exactly what I say.

Y/N: *scoffs* Right [summons fire in his right hand] If you survive this fire fist I'll consider it.

Luz: Y/N.

Mattolomule: E-Easy there Dragneel I can get us out [walks forward] First we-

He was cut off when a giant snake rises out of the whole and looks at the group. It opens its mouth and realises a blue tendril that wraps around Mattolomule's ankle.

Mattolomule: [grunts] Already?

Y/N: [crosses his arms] *smirks* What's wrong "King of detention" aren't you going to get out?

Luz: Y/N.

Mattolomule: Uhh a little help before it-

Y/N: *glares* No.

Suddenly the tendril pulls Mattolomule into the air and drags him down the hole.

Luz: Mattolomule!

She then walks over the edge and sees Mattolomule inside the tendril with his eyes in some kind of trance.

Y/N: Welp he's gone [shrugs] Oh well.

Luz: [looks at Y/N] Y/N what has gotten into you!? Why are you being so mean!?

Y/N's eyes suddenly went red as he glared at Luz. This made Luz flinch a bit as she tried to stand her ground.

Y/N: What's wrong with me!? WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME!? I'M UPSET! Not only did [points at Mattolomule] that guy lied and tricked us I'm also made at [points at and looks at Gus] You!

Gus: Y-Y/N I-

Y/N: [walks over] You lied to us! You told us the ban was lifted! But the worst of all you used us!

There was a moment of silence, other than the sound of the hole. Suddenly a tentacle came out as it tried to grab Y/N.

Luz&Gus: Y/N!

Y/N, without looking, punches the tentacle forcing it back down in the hole.

Y/N: [looks down, hair blocking his eyes] Back before I met Luz or Luke I was alone. I tried making friends as best as I could. I did whatever they wanted cause I thought they would let me hang out with them. It wasn't then I realized they were using me.

Little Y/N: So if I get the ball back from the roof I can join you guys?

Little Kid #1: Sure you can.

Little Kid #2: You can play with us as long as you want.

Little Y/N: *Smiles* Alright here goes.

Little Y/N started climbing up the building and was able to get to the top.

Little Y/N: I got it [throws the ball off the roof to the others] Uhh guys [scared] I'm a little high up can you help me out.

Little Kid #1: [catches the ball] Oh don't worry we are just going to get a ladder.

Little Kid #2: Yea don't go anywhere "friend"

The kids start to walk away leaving Y/N on the roof.

Little Y/N: O-Oh ok [sits down] I-I'll just wait here.

Little Kid #3: We aren't going to help him are we?

Little Kid #1: Heck no! He's just a freak and fun to use.

They didn't know but Y/N was still able to hear them from far away. Y/N looks down with a sad expression.

Y/N: [still looking down] I thought I learned but I didn't because it happened so many times because I just wanted to see if anyone would be my friend. I thought it wouldn't happen if I came here but it did. [tears started to fall] I thought I could trust you [looks at Gus] Why Gus? Why did you lie to us?

Luz: [sad] Y/N.

Gus was looking at Y/N and started to look down. He never knew that he went through all this. Even worse, he broke Y/N's trust.

Gus: I-I was afraid. [Y/N looked up at Gus] Being younger than everyone is hard. [Walks over to Y/N] You're overlooked. Ignored. But at the H. A. S. I mattered. I could make sure no one would ever get left behind. I didn't wanna lose that. I'm sorry.

Luz: Gus

Y/N just looked at Gus and just for a second he saw himself in Gus.

Y/N: *sighs* I really wish you told us this sooner Gus that way we could have avoided all of [gestures to the hole] this. I don't know if I can truly forgive you [Gus looks down in sadness] but I guess an apology is a start to it.

This causes Gus to smile. Luz who was watching smiled as her friends started to make up. The moment was ruined when they heard hissing coming down the whole. The group looked down and saw snakes hissing and heading for the top of it.

Gus: Let me make it up to you guys. I've got a plan.

A snake hisses as it rises from the hole scaring both Luz and Gus. Y/N summoned fire from his right hand and punched the snake back down into the whole as it made a loud crash sound.

Y/N: Alright [smiles] I'll follow your lead Mr. president.

Luz: [nods her head] Where do we start?

Gus: [grabs both their hands] By leaving no one behind.

Y/N: Wait, we're saving him aren't we?

Gus: Yep!

Luz: It's the right thing to do.

Y/N: *sighs* Fine, let's go.

The three friends jump off the edge and fall down the land on an eye and bounce, both Luz and Gus grunting when they hit the ground while Y/N landed on his feet. Y/N walks up and pulls down the pod Mattholomule's in.

Pod: You will be a good student.

Mattholomule: I will be a good student.

Y/N: Geez this is how they get people to be good?

Zack: You'd be surprised by how little this works.

Both Luz and Gus walk up to the pod, Luz tries to bite the pod but fails.

Luz: You know, it didn't taste as bad as I thought it would.

Y/N: [sweat drop] Please never do that again. [summons fire] I got this.

Gus: Wait [Y/N stops] Let me do this he's my member let me help him.

Y/N looks at Gus for a bit but decides to let him help Mattholomule as he dispels his fire.

Y/N: So how are you going to free him?

Gus: By using [digs into his cowl and pulls out a paper clip] Human magic.

Gus staps the pod with the paper clip as he cuts it open freeing Mattholomule.

Mattholomule: Am I a good student?

Y/N: Not even close [both Luz and Gus look at Y/N] What am I wrong?

A moment of silence.

Luz&Gus: No you're right.

Luz: [picks up Mattholomule] Whoa! He is so light.

As the group was about to make their way out a bunch of snakes started to surround them causing them to panic. Y/N got into a fighting stance ready to fight them all.

Luz: There is another part to the plan right.

Gus: Actually yes the Illusion part.

This made both Y/N and Luz curious. Gus then draws a spell circle, then puts his hand in it and drags it through the air. Several other spell circles appear, and from them several clones of Luz, Y/N and Gus. A snake flicks its tongue at one illusion of Gus, making it disappear. It hisses.

Y/N: Aye not bad Gus.

Gus picks up a giant bone and the three climb out of the hole. Snakes hiss as the follow. Gus reaches the top first, taking Mattholomule from Luz, Y/N then follow after. Luz kicks a snake in the face when she pulls herself up, then spins and kicks another. Y/N then punches one with a fire fist and elbows another, Gus hits a third with the bone, then runs.

Gus: We're gonna have to bust down the door.

Y/N: [pats Gus's shoulder] *smiles* Leave that to me. [walks up to the door] Keep the snakes off me I'll handle the door.

Both Gus and Luz look at each other and nod their heads. Luz puts Mattolomule down and gets into a fighting position, Gus holds the bone in his hand as the two friends get ready to fight the snakes. Y/N walks up to the door and stands in front of it. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath in and breathes out. He then opens his eyes as they glow red.

Y/N: Alright let's break this thing down [slams his fists together] With the flames of my right hand [right hand with fire] and the flames of my left [left hand with fire] put the two together [slams both his hands together and holds a giant fireball over his head] and this is what you get!

While both Gus and Luz were holding off the snakes they turn around and see Y/N summoning a giant fireball.

Gus: [amazed] Whoa.

Luz: [amazed] So cool.

Y/N: FIRE DRAGON: BRILLIANT FLAME!

Y/N throws the giant fireball at the gate with full force. This creates a blinding light that covers the whole room.

Luke POV

I was lying down on the ground exhausted. I had just had to get some kind of weird combination of a squirrel and a lizard out of the basement of the school. Again what the hell was our teacher trying to do!? Kill someone!?

Emira: Wow honestly I'm surprised you survived that.

Oh right I completely forgot the twins were watching…. That was sarcasm by the way. They kept on screaming you got this Mr. Grouchy while recording.

Edric: [walks up to me] How are you feeling?

Me: Rage, anger, humiliation, exhaustion, and lots and lots of regrets.

Edric: [sweat drops and light chuckles] I see.

I sighed as I got up from the ground.

Me: Let me just hurry up and find those idiots or Bump so I can go already.

As we started making our way down the hallway I noticed that the twins haven't said anything. Come to think of it, I'm starting to sense some sadness from them but mostly from Emira.

Me: *sigh* So are you going to make me say it?

Edric: [confused] Say what?

Me: What's bothering you two?

This caused all three of us to stop walking as the twins looked down at the ground.

Edric: [scratches the back of his head] Well we ran into Y/N and Luz before you and-

Emira: Why weren't you with them?

This shocked me and Edric a bit.

Emira: When I asked where you were Luz looked down in sadness. I only assumed that something happened between you two.

After she said that I turned around with my back facing them.

Edric: Hey it's alright if-

Me: Do you remember what I said to you guys? Of why I hang out with you.

Edric: *surprised* Uh yea it's because you like how we express ourselves.

Me: *sighs* Yea. Some things happened and now I've been having self doubt about that answer.

Emira: But why?

Me: [shakes my head] I don't know. [looks at his hand] I thought that was an answer but slowly I started to doubt it. I think it was another lie that I made up.

Emira: So that's it huh?

I heard the pain in her voice. As I turned around and saw the pain in his eyes.

Emira: If that's how you feel then why do you hang out with us?

That question again. Why do I?

Edric: Em hold on-

Emira: No! [slowly approchase me] We are going to figure this out now. [in front of my face] Why do you hang out with us Luke!?

This shocked me when she didn't call me by that ridiculous nickname.

Me: [looks away] I-I

I felt her grab my face and made me look her dead in her eyes.

Emira: Don't look away! Look me in the eye and answer the question!

Me: I-I d-don't-

Emira: And don't say you don't know! I refuse to believe that you spend years with them weeks with us to not know the answer! You say you don't know, you say you have self doubt but we both know you're lying to yourself! Now answer me! Why!?

Suddenly I started to her the voices again asking me the same questions

Why Luke!?

Why do you hang out with them!?

What's your reason!?

Emira&Voices: WHY DO YOU HANG OUT WITH US!?

Me: [growls] IT'S BECAUSE I LIKE YOU PEOPLE OK!

There was a brief moment of silence as I was breathing in and out heavily.

Emira: *smiles* So how do you feel?

Shockingly, I didn't doubt that answer. I felt better.

Me: I…. feel…. great.

Emira: Good [kisses my cheek] Now let's go find the others.

She started to walk away as me and Edric watched her leave. Huh that was something…. Wait.

Me: What just happened?

Edric: [walks beside me] I-I'm trying to figure that out myself. But [puts his head on my shoulder] I'm glad you found your answer.

Edric started to walk to catch up with Emira. I started to catch up to them.

Me: No seriously what the hell just happened?

As we started our search for either Bump or Luz and Y/N, we stopped in front of a three eye door.

Me: Uhh [points to it] What the hell is that?

Edric: Oh that's detention.

Me: Huh?

Emira: Yea that place is so boring sometimes.

So even detention is weird in this world. I give up. We then notice Willow walking up to the door which shocked me.

Me: Uhh little flower?

She heard me as she turned and saw me.

Willow: [gasp] Luke.

Emira: [raises an eyebrow] Little flower?

I can hear the venom in her voice. Shockingly it got me to chuckle a bit. I walk over to Willow to see what's going on.

Me: What are you doing here? I don't believe detention is a right place for you.

Willow: [blushes] O-Oh no it just [looks at the door] Y/N, Luz and Gus are in there.

Me: Huh? How the hell are those three get in there? [Willow was about to answer until I cut her off] Actually don't I don't want to know.

Willow: Right anyway can you help me get them out?

Me: *sighs* I guess so little flower.

This caused Willow to blush as I smirked. But I then felt a chill as I turned my head a bit to see Emira glaring daggers at me with her arms crossed, and Edric trying to calm her down. I am in for a beating when this is over. Suddenly I heard her voice again.

Eda: I washed off all the graffiti. Apologized to Jenkinmeyer for stealing her teeth. Caught all the wild cerebi. Ah, we should be good.

Alright teach I guess you can clean up your mess.

Bump: [shakes Eda's hand] It will be very exciting to have a real human exchange students and the son of Igneel.

Eda: And you won't tell the Emperor's Coven about this, will you?

Bump: No. Hexside School is safe for you both. I'm the principal, not a stooge. Consider your pupils our pupils. [notices Emira and Edric] What are you two doing here?

Emira was too busy staring daggers at me. Geez woman calm down.

Edric: W-We are just keeping an eye on Luke sir.

They looked at us and were about to ask us a question until I felt the air around us getting hot and hotter. Just then I felt a familiar magic energy. Oh god damn it Y/N!

Me: [grabs Willow] Everyone Get down!

After I said that, a giant explosion happened causing everyone to either duck for cover or shield their eyes.

3RD POV

The dust started to settle as Y/N, Luz, and Gus started to walk out of the broken detention door. There was rumble everywhere and some of the walls were broken.

Luz: [carrying Mattholomule] Uhhh I think you over did it Y/N.

Y/N: [rubs his head] *chuckles nervously* You think so?

Luke: [mumbles] I know so.

Both Y/N and Luz were taking back from that voice. They looked around and saw a giant shadow bubble. The bubble started to disappear as it revealed Luke holding Willow close to him.

Y/N&Luz: Luke!

Luke: Gotdamn guys what the hell?

Y/N: Heheh sorry about that Luke.

Luke: *sighs* Yea yea.

Willow: [blushing] U-Umm Luke [Luke looks down at Willow] C-Can you-

Luke: Oh right [lets go of Willow] Sorry.

Willow: N-No it's fine (Not like I mind)

Before anything else was said a giant snake appeared out of nowhere and was going to attack the group of friends. Before it could do anything a loud snap stopped it dead in its tracks. The group turned their heads and saw Bump and the others shielded by a magic barrier.

Eda: [excited] Guess who got you kids into hexside?

Y/N&Luz: What?

Luke: [facepalm] Not the time, teach.

Suddenly the snake's eyes turned from red into normal eyes.

Snake: Uh, sorry, Principal Bump. Sir. [retreats]

Luke: [looks at Willow] What kind of detention is that?

Willow just chuckles nervously. Just then Bump approaches the kids.

Bump: What did you do!?

Eda: [facepalms] Ugh, kids.

Bump: [to Eda] To think that any student of yours would be capable of doing anything but create chaos... Eda, take your students and leave! You four are banned from this campus!

This caused everyone to flinch and panic.

Edric: What!?

Emira: But principle Bump Luke didn't-

Luke: [raises his hand] Eh. Don't. You'll only make it worse.

Emira: But-

Luke: Look it's not something. Welp it was nice being in here [bows his head at Bump] thanks for allowing me to walk around and help.

Luke lifts his head up and starts walking out as everyone watches. However both Y/N and Luz looked at Luke closely to notice he's clothes were covered in dirt, cuts, and questionable liquids. It didn't take long from them to realize that Luke has been working hard for them to get into hexside. They also start to remember all the times he took the blame for all the trouble they caused back into the human world. Just then that one sentence he said back in the house.

Luke: I'm saying that you should actually think that your actions have consequences and it could affect other people!

They both looked down in sadness as they knew Luke was right. Y/N raised his head and walked up to Bump.

Y/N: Principle Bump, sir, don't blame Luke for this blame-

Luz: Us. [Y/N looked back at Luz] It was us. [looks at Y/N] You don't have to take all the blame. [Y/N nods his head] Luke worked hard to get in here we

Y/N: Ruined it for him [looks down] Just like always. You can ban us but please don't ban Luke.

Both Y/N and Luz bowed their heads as Bump and everyone was watching in shock.

Luke: Whoa Whoa Whoa! [walks up to them] What the hell!? Who are you two and what have you done with Y/N and Luz!?

Y/N: *smiles* Very funny Luke.

Luz: After some thinking you were right. We never thought about how our actions affect other people. And I know an apology can't fix anything but

Y/N&Luz: We are so sorry Luke!

Luke just looks at both his friends with shock. Never before have they apologized this sincerely before… well much.

Luke: [rubs his neck] Well If I have to say one thing I'm glad you two have learned something [rubs both their heads] and like I said before I'm glad we became friends.

This made both Y/N and Luz smile as they ran up and hugged Luke. Usually Luke would push them off but instead he just let it happen… cause he was tired. As both Eda and Bump were watching they see the kids being replaced by another group of kids. Luke was Igneel, Y/N was Zack and Luz was Eda.

Bump&Eda: [smiles] (Just like the old days)

Luke: Welp since we're done here let's head home.

Gus: Wait. [everyone looks at Gus] Principal Bump. Don't blame them. I told them the ban was lifted. We were fighting over the Human Appreciation Society. I brought Luz and Y/N in because I wanted to win. This is all my fault.

Bump: If that's so, Augustus, would you be willing to accept their punishment as your own?

Gus; Yes, Principal Bump. I would.

Eda: Huh. Dang, dweebus.

Luke: Seriously how much have I missed?

Bump: Very well. [to Luz and Y/N] In light of that, barring any more trouble, you three shall officially be enrolled in Hexside School next semester.

Luz: [gasp] Really!?

Y/N: [excited] YES!

Luz&Y/N: [hugs Luz] We are going to Hexside together! Yay!

Luke: *whispers* Help me.

This caused everyone to chuckle a bit. Eda walks over to the three.

Eda: Hold on, hold on [gestures Bump and everyone else to back away] I'm only doing this because I have faith in you. And I know you three are too smart to fall for that One‐Witch, One‐Coven nonsense. You can learn a lot from the witches here. [looks over her shoulder and smirks] And maybe teach them some of that Bad Girl Coven magic too.

Bump: I didn't hear that.

Eda: [looks at Y/N] And show them how much your master has taught you.

Y/N: *smiles* [confused] What, you or Zack?

Eda: Both. [looks at Luke] Make sure you keep an eye on them just in case.

Luke: [smirks] No problem teach.

Edric and Emira walk behind Luke.

Edria: And we'll keep an eye on him.

Emira: [rubs her cheeks on his] A close eye on him.

Luke just growls as the others giggle, except for Willow who watches this with a frown on her face.

Bump: Now then [to Gus] As for you, I would be saying detention right now but that seems to be out of order. So, as of now, I'm removing you from the Human Appreciation Society. [takes Gus's crown]

Mattolomule: Does that make me president?

Y/N was glaring daggers at him and was about to respond but Luz just grabbed his arm and shook her head.

Luke: (Damn what did that guy do to piss Y/N off?)

Bump: Impressive. Still alive. Yes, I suppose you are. [throws the crown on Mattholomule's head]

Mattholomule: [weak] Yea.

Y/N: *whispers* Asshole [pinched by Luz] Ow!

Bump: Now, with that accomplished, Eda, we have some paperwork to fill out.

Eda: Wait! I gotta do more stuff? Ugh! [to the group] You better enjoy this place, kids.

Y/N and Luz grin as they turn back and look at Gus and Willow.

Gus: Wanna finish off that tour?

Willow: I can show you guys what plants not to touch in the greenhouse. And then I can let you touch them.

Luz: Yeah! Let's go.

The four friends started to hold hands and looked at Luke.

Y/N: You coming Luke.

Luke was about to respond but was cut off by two people grabbing his shoulder.

Emira: Sorry but we are going to borrow Luke for a bit. [hugs Luke arm] You don't mind right Luke?

Luke: *sighs* I'll catch up to you guys later.

The twins and Luke start making their way away from the others as Emira clings at Luke's arm as she looks back and smirks at Willow. Willow sees this and frowns. Luz sees this and couldn't help but giggle a bit. The 4 friends start to make their way around Hexside.

Timeskip

Y/N was sitting in his and Lukes room rubbing baby dragon on his back as the creature was sleeping. He can't believe that he is going to learn at the same school his master and friends learn in as well.

Luz: Hey.

Y/N turned around and saw Luz standing at the doorway as she started approaching him.

Luz: [sits beside him] Excited that we got in a Hexside?

Y/N: Yea of course [looks at the moon] I can't wait.

Luz smiles at this and looks at the moon with him.

Luz: Hey umm about what happened in detention

Y/N: You want to know how my trust in others changed huh?

Luz just nods her head. Y/N looked at her.

Y/N: I just hate people who take someone's trust and throw it away like it was trash. I guess you can say it was Luke who helped me realize it.

We see a little Y/N on the ground covered in cuts and bruises. Y/N was trying to be friends with some kids but they told him to go steal some candy and they would be his friend. Y/N tried but failed and as a result they started to beat him up for being useless. But what shocked Y/N was that a random boy who was wearing all black came down and beat up all the bullies forcing them to run away. This boy was Luke.

Little Luke: [spits out some blood] You shouldn't just let them walk all over you like that.

Little Y/N: B-But if I don't [starts to cry] T-T-They won't be my friend.

Little Luke: You won't be their friend, you'll be their tool. A true friend has your back no matter what and there for when you need them the most.

Little Y/N: S-So are you my friend?

Little Luke: *sigh* You got a lot to learn [holds out his hand] so let me help you.

Little Y/N: *looks up and takes his hand* T-Thank you.

Y/N: Ever since then he has helped me know the difference between a fake friend and a real friend.

Luz was taken back by this and couldn't help but smile at this.

Luz: Wow I never knew Luke could be like that.

Y/N: Yea I know right still shocks me to this day.

Luz: [smiles and puts her hand on top of Y/N] Do you remember what you said to me when I asked you why you were my friend?

Y/N: [smiles] How can I forget?

We are in Luz's room back home in the Human world. Luz was on her bed reading Good Witch Azure and Y/N was laying beside the bed reading another chapter of it.

Luz: Hey Y/N.

Y/N: [looks up from the book] Yea.

Luz: Can I ask you something?

Y/N: Sure what's up?

Luz: [nervous] W-Why do you hang out with me? I-I'm not popular. I-I'm not that great. [starts to tear up] I-I'm just that weird girl that everyone finds annoying. S-So why-

Y/N: Because you're you. [Luz was confused] I don't care about any of that stuff, all I want [gets in front of her] is for you to be yourself. Because a person's true self [smiles] is someone I like to be around.

Luz: [tears start to fall] Really?

Y/N: [nods his head] Yea you don't have to be someone you're not Luz just stay you that's the reason I like to hang out with you.

Luz hugs Y/N and she cries on his shoulder. Y/N smiles and just hugs and rubs her back as she lets it all out.

Luz: [smiles] Did you mean what you said back then?

Y/N: Of course [rubs his forehead on hers] I like the real you Luz and I always will.

This caused both of them to blush as they looked at each other. They slowly started to lean into each other. Just like before they were going to seal it with a kiss… until.

Boom!

A giant explosion from down stairs causes them to separate.

Eda: [downstairs] Uhhh Kids you might want to be careful.

This confused Y/N and Luz for a bit until they suddenly felt something wrapped around them which made them both yelp as they were pulled down stairs.

Luke POV

I was just chilling at the front entrance of the school getting ready to make my way back home. Geez the twins kept me out really later than usual. I was about to make my way back home until a familiar green hair twin stopped me.

Emira: Hey Mr. Grouchy.

Me: Oh you. What are you doing here? I thought you went home with your brother by now.

Emira: Oh I just wanted to ask you something.

Me: Ok what is it- [cut off by Emira grabbing his ear] Ow!

Emira: What was that little nickname you called that girl before?

Is she talking about Willow? All I did was call her little flower. Why is she… Oh.

Me: All I did was call her by a nickname what's [grib on my ear tightness] Ow! Ow! Ow!

Emira: [narrows her eyes] She gets a nickname and I don't?

What the hell!? She is that upset about it!?

Me: Ok ok I'll think of one later! Just let go!

Emira just sighs and lets go of my ear as I rub it. Damn when the hell did she get this strong!?

Emira: [gets in my face] I want a really good nickname ok?

Me: Yea yea alright.

Emira: [smiles] Good. [hugs me] You know I still haven't given you your reward for cleaning up.

Oh boy what the hell does that mean?

Me: And that would be?

Emira: *giggles* Lets just say *whispers in my ear* We are going to be somewhere more private when I give it.

And that caused me to blush a little cause I already knew what she meant. I hear her giggle as she kisses my cheek and walks away.

Emira: I'll be waiting for my nickname soon [waves] Bye Mr. Grouchy.

Just then I noticed her having a certain swan in her hips. I just facepalm as I tried to calm down.

Me: Keep it together man. Don't fall for it, you will dig a deeper hole for yourself.

Willow: Luke.

This caused me to jump a bit and look back to see Willow walking out.

Luke: Willow, you scared me.

Willow: *giggles* Wow, I didn't know I could do that.

We both shared a laugh.

Luke: Anyway, why are you getting out so late?

Willow: I stayed behind to help out with the place. What about you?

Me: Eh the twins wanted to spend the whole day with me.

Just then I realized my mistake as I felt the atmosphere around us get dark.

Willow: I see.

Uh-oh.

Willow: [hair blocking her eyes] Tell me Luke what is she to you?

Me: Look I know what your thinking but she's just a-

I get cut off by a bunch of vines around me with the tip pointing at all parts of my body.

Willow: Don't lie. [looks at me with her eyes glowing green] What is she to you?

Not going to lie, I was a bit nervous on this side of her. Goes to show you some plants have thorns.

Me: [keeps his composure] *sighs* I'm telling the truth she is just a friend. She does this just to tease me.

Willow walked up and looked me dead in the eye to see if I was lying. She must have known I wasn't as the vines started to vanish and her eyes went back to normal.

Willow: S-sorry about that.

Me: [rubs her head] Don't worry about it Willow.

Willow: *whispers* Little flower.

Me: [confused] Huh?

Willow: [blushes] I want you to call me little flower

Me: [smile] Ok Little flower.

I saw her face get redder as I enjoyed this.

Me: Welp I better get going, you stay safe ok.

Willow: Luke! [stops and looks back at Willow] I-I *smiles* I can't wait to see you here.

Me: *smirks* [walks up and kisses Willow on her cheek] Me too little flower *walks away* Me too.

As I was walking away I could hear Willow squealing which put a smile on my face. As I was walking back to the house I couldn't help but just feel a whole lot of relief. There was so much weight off my shoulders that I felt so good I haven't felt this good in a long time.

Me: It feels….. Good.

As I was getting closer to the house I heard a giant explosion that just made me sigh. Oh great what happened now? As I finally made it to the clearing I heard someone scream and landed on the ground next to me. I looked down and saw Y/N and baby dragon covered in some kind of frosting?

Y/N: *groans* [sees me and smiles] Oh hi Luke! [baby dragon barks]

Me: Uhhh hi what uh-

I get cut off by both King and Luz landing on the other side of me.

Luz: *groans* Oh Luke, you're back home!

King: Save us Luke!

Me: [facepalms] What the hell happened?

King: Well Eda wanted to make you guys a cake to celebrate you three getting into Hexside…

Me: Buuut

Suddenly our "teacher" landed on a nearby tree upside down groaning.

Eda: I might have used the wrong ingredients.

Me: Gee you think.

We heard a loud roar which caused us to turn and look at it. What I saw was a giant 5 layer cake monster with red eyes, claws, and sharp teeth. Each layer had different colors: bottom was brown, second to the bottom was yellow, middle was white, second to the top was dark red and the top was red. On top of its head read "Congrats on getting in you knuckleheads" with 10 candles there burning bright red.

Me: Huh nice cake.

Eda: Would you mind, kid?

I'm starting to take back what I said about liking these people.

Me: You know what like is a strong word [draws a circle and takes out the sword] I would go with tolerate you people.

Everyone: Aww we love you too Luke!

Me: [back facing them]

Me: Yea yea. [points my blade at the cake monster] I'll take a slice of that cake!

I started charging at the monster as I jumped in the air getting ready to cutted it down as it roared and threw it's claw at me. Life with them is never a boring moment. And I guess that's ok with me.

Demon POV

So you were able to conquer your self doubt. I got to say you are impressing me more and more as the days go by. But I wonder how much longer you can keep me locked in? [twirling a key] I have the key to exit.

[Slowly starts to smile sinisterly] Maybe it's time for me to play.
