More importantly, the Hydra Turncoat Named Rick Sanchez needed to be destroyed before the Avengers got anything useful out of him!

The Red Skull was still interested in where the Green Goblin Formula got hidden, however, Hydra can always get the information from Norman Osborn if Rick Sanchez died beforehand.

Rick Sanchez was frantically firing at the Robotic Sentinels fighting against the Avengers.

Admittedly not the most insane situation he has ever encountered beforehand, the only thing new was his family being caught right in the middle of the insanity without him knowing what was really going on in advance.

The Red Skull and his Hydra Followers were going to war with his family, Rick Sanchez had become Bill Cipher's Puppet to save them.

It was obviously the only reason that Bill Cipher helped his Future Self, the Red Skull was getting in the way of Bill Cipher's Plans somehow.
