Aria is not prepared for what is to come, and what else she could endure at the Sith Temple.
Hello everyone! :) I know, it's been two months since I last updated this fanfic. I went on a reposting fanfics spree over on Archive Of Our Own and this site during those two months, all while undergoing more healing. Not easy, but I managed to write and revise this chapter. It's been a beast of a chapter to work on, as much of this is talking about my spiritual awakening in just one chapter.
Not easy to accomplish, but I did it! :)
So yeah, this is an intense chapter when we get to the Sith temple. I did not make it easy on my self-insert. But then, what do you expect with spiritual awakenings and the memories that follow?
That said, enjoy! :)
Chapter Three:
A Second Wave
It happened in 2019.
The moment Aria Breuer saw pictures of Frodo Baggins, the hobbit who assisted her on their last adventure, the one Aria messed up by resetting everything to the way it was—she may have gone overboard with this a bit much and was now paying the price for it, mental health being part of it—that was when Aria wanted to help Frodo again, show people he was a great hobbit and needed to be defended.
Like a flash of lightning striking at her, Aria jumped back in her chair. She didn't know why, but every part of her being was waking up. She panicked from the voices rushing towards her, loud and clear, wondering about her. Aria had just reached her thirties around this time… oh dear! What was she experiencing?
It was nothing like what she endured. A spiritual awakening, no doubt, and it scared her. She wept like never before! It was awful! What was this new experience? And Frodo—no way! She could hear him.
She had to get out of here! She had to do something to alleviate her suffering, before anyone else spotted her. Only, there was no one to tell. It was the wee hours of the morning. She was alone at this early hour. Of course, she was! It was morning! Early morning, but still, it shouldn't have been this lonely!
Aria… come! Please… come home, Aria, it was Frodo's voice, angelic as ever and calling out to her. Aria wanted to reach him, and was stunned by a green-framed portal circling in front of her, right on her computer screen. Before Aria had the chance to figure out what was going on, she was pulled through the portal, right inside a forest near the town of Paravane Trepess.
.
Aria collided with the deep green, grassy ground.
The forest was alive as ever. She sighed, feeling her nose to make sure it wasn't broken. It was a little sore, but it was all right. Just as Aria found it hard to breathe, she pressed her hands against the bridge of her nose, healing her nose all at once.
Really? That was odd. How did her nose heal so fast?
Aria rubbed her nose, before sitting upright. Her weeping had stopped some time ago.
She looked at the portal. Good, it was still here! But not a minute too soon, for the portal vanished in a spinning whirlwind, leaving Aria stranded in the woods. The woods seemed to have no beginning or no end.
Or maybe she was imagining things. She needed to find out, as she found her feet and stood up, wondering how she was able to heal her nose so quickly.
She looked at her right shoulder, aching and sore from the fall. She feared the worst! Feared her right shoulder would break again! Oh dear! Well… she glanced up at a ray of green light climbing down from the skies above her. The green light absorbed itself into her right shoulder, miraculously healing both her right shoulder and her right arm.
"No way!" She glanced at her right shoulder, testing it, as well as her right arm and her right hand. Yes, they were fully functional, working splendidly! She felt her right shoulder, right from home, where it was being worked on twice and taking a while to heal. She sighed, realizing her fate at home, making her wonder if she ever go back home…
"…hello Aria!" it was Archangel Raphael, waving to her, from right where he stood. He smriked, saying to her, as he pressed his hands on her right shoulder, "How's the right shoulder? And your right arm?"
Aria smirked, glad her right arm and her right shoulder worked. They were healed! "Hi Raphael. Did you do this?"
Raphael smirked, nodding to her, "Now, I must tell you: on Earth, you will have to go through a long recovery process. Here, time heals wounds faster. So, while you're here, your right arm and your right shoulder will work again. You have healer's hands on this Universe. Back on Earth, things will be different."
Aria sighed, figuring this would happen. "Will I be going back there?"
Raphael shook his head. "Not for a long time. By then, another version of you will get proper treatment as well as supernatural healing. Here, you're free to do as you wish." He pointed out. "Also, should you need healing, call on me or the LORD, and we will help you out. Other healers are here, too. I'm sure you know that."
Aria nodded, smiling at him. "I do. Thank you."
Raphael sighed. "You have powers. You just didn't realize it until today. But you should know: you cannot heal every injury on your own. That's where we come in. Good luck, Aria Breuer! Until we meet again." He waved to her, vanishing.
Oh my! Just wondering who lurked around here remained to be seen. As Aria walked through the forest, voices alerted her to her presence. Lights flickered and flashed all throughout the woods. Aria assumed these were spirits abound.
She had a moment's relief when the weeping started uncontrollably. There were so many voices. She collapsed on a sitting position, the voices being too much and too loud for her to bear. She didn't know what to do. She didn't know how she would take it all in!
Medicine could cure this, couldn't it? That's what she was told. And the voices… there were so many. She wanted this nightmare to be over. She wanted it to be…
…she glanced up at a strange temple, standing out in the middle of the forest. Should she go there? And there was an elderly man in silver armor, wearing Sith robes. He looked menacing, formidable, but ancient and wise.
Aria rushed across the field, approaching the man, vehemently. She felt his name: Valkorion. Should she trust him.
"Who are you, child?" Valkorion told her in a deep, resounding voice. He smirked, recognizing her all at once. "Ah, the one who reset everything: Aria Breuer, is it?" He laughed. Aria fell silent, her mouth closed and feeling teary-eyed. Valkorion laughed, telling her as he extended his hand to her. "Don't worry, my dear. We'll take good care of you."
Aria looked at the hand.
A choice had to be made.
Should she take it?
Should she not?
Whatever was she to do?
Aria looked at Valkorion now, seeing how wise he was. Even though, she could feel the encroaching darkness rest within his veins. Aria nodded, taking his hand, "Can you teach me the ways of the Force?"
Valkorion smiled a wicked smile. "Of course. Follow me, my dear." He grabbed her, yanking her, as he dragged her within the temple.
The temple doors closed. Aria was trapped! The temple's hollow, dark grey, metallic walls surrounded her. She was unsure how she was to get out of this mess alive. That is, if she made it out at all.
~o~
Moans and growls could be heard within the temple's spacious dark grey metallic hallways and corridors. The hall itself was wide, grand, and menacing, with a sickly green glow penetrating the walls as well as the floor.
Aria gulped, as Valkorion led her deep into a circular stone chamber, where red light emitted off the torches.
"Stand here," Valkorion told her, leading Aria to wonder what was going on.
"What's happening?' Aria asked, as she stood in the center of a grey stone platform.
Valkorion smirked, darkly. "You'll see." All at once, robed Sith men and women entered the circular chamber, circling the platform around Aria and Valkorion. Valkorion merely stared at Aria, as he took his leave.
"Wait. What am I supposed to do? Valkorion!" Aria cried, as the door leading out of the chamber closed.
Aria was left alone with the Sith men and women, who sat down and opened their hands, tapping into the Dark Side of the Force with a strong rage.
The grip from the Force… it was so strong… so alluring…
…Aria collapsed on the middle of the stone platform, feeling the Dark Night of the Soul creep up on her, cleansing her, and healing her from all the pain and suffering she went through, before her spiritual awakening woke her up… it was changing her, drawing her ever more into the Darkness, to the Shadows…
…Aria felt the Darkness… it felt good… she was so lost… she cackled from where she lie down, unsure why this was happening to her… she wanted more, more energy, more Force energy…
…what more could she want from this affair…
…she was on her way through when she heard another voice… tellling her not to do stuff… telling her about the Voices, why they were bad, forcing them to be quiet… wanting to get rid of them…
…no! She couldn't bear letting her Voices leave her like this! Then the final blow… Frodo… Frodo Baggins, and Samwise Gamgee… they were the last straw, the last nail to hit the floor… Frodo… he was with other fangirls… and Sam… she was told to love him rather than hate him…
…Aria's heart snapped… her obsession for Frodo… it was leaving her, it was leaving her behind… how long had she been inside this Sith temple? How long had she been here? No! Her obsession for Frodo was breaking… her inner child… she was dead…
…Aria didn't feel the same… she wasn't the same anymore… nothing mattered to her now… she wanted out of this mess, but she couldn't… she couldn't bear to look at anything to do with Frodo…
…Aria knew people wanted her to move on from Frodo, to stop obsessing over him… well, the voice alone did it… they did it too much… she hated that…
…she could feel the Dark Side now, pouring through her…she felt so hollow now, so strange… like she wasn't herself anymore…
…then it was over. She felt changed, like she was no longer who she was anymore.
Was this maturity? Or lost hope? She snarled, not wanting to talk with anyone. She opened her eyes, feeling years come upon her. How long had she been inside the temple, with these Sith? She had to get out of there! NOW!
"Tell me what happened!" Valkorion asked, as he opened the door quickly.
Aria wanted to run, she wanted to get out of here, so badly. She stood up, approaching him with great rage.
Valkorion sighed. He asked her, "So, tell me what did you see?"
Aria shook her head. She didn't know what to think. "I need time. Something's not right."
Valkorion nodded. "I felt it, too. There's been a great disturbance. We need to talk, about what happened. Where's your darling Frodo gone?"
Aria wanted to ask a question, but all she could do was stare at him, vengeful. She fist pumped his right shoulder in rage, a gentle fist pump, but one showing anger in her eyes. She told him fast, "Over the years, I've had people tell me to move on from Frodo. To tell me to love characters I hate, when I'm not yet ready for that? Telling the Voices to be quiet, when I didn't want that! This is what happens when the inner child snaps, after so much pressure! My inner child is dead, Valkorion! Dead, do you hear me? I—I need to be alone." She wandered off, finding her way to a stone bench. She plopped down on the bench, feeling like she had lost her mind.
Had her spiritual awakening led her to this? She felt awful. She felt like Frodo, too, as if she had become him… all while in the chamber? How did that happen? She sighed, relaxing as she made sense of the world around her.
Whatever she was going through, she could just imagine the horrors Frodo was enduring… if he truly was on his spiritual awakening, too.
Hmm… maybe she did come to this fortress for a reason. But what? This was a haven for the Dark Side of the Force. What ever was she to do?
So, how was that? A bit intense, I would think. Towards the end of this chapter, a similar experience happened with my inner chlid. So yeah, not easy to heal my inner child, but I'm starting to recover. My self-insert will recover, too, but how that happens remains to be seen.
The next chapter will focus on Frodo and Parker, and all their misadventures. Will Frodo and Aria be reunited? Will Parker be reunited with Eliza and Turen? And just what is going on with the Reset?
Anyway, thanks for reading. More to come. :)
