Chapter Thirty Three

Walking the garden path

Walk in the garden the next day with the birds in the trees singing love songs the two girls were laughing so hard about the look on the ambassador's face from last night. He had come looking for a drunk Tomiko to offer his assistance and maybe something more when an enraged Yuka opened the door screaming incoherently at him.

Begging for forgiveness he had run down the hall bouncing off the walls in his haste to get away from that she-demon with the red eyes. With all the maids and ladies in waiting showing up to check on all the noise, they hadn't had a chance to continue.

Now in the garden, they had a chance to relax and kick their feet in the cool water of the koi pond as they sip on cold fruit drinks. Being in the middle of the palace gave them some much-needed downtime as they tried to think of a new plan to draw out the remaining assassins.

"The store plan worked but they are not going to fall for anything like that again," said Ino as she leaned back on her hands as she kicked water at a duck in the pond.

"I know but what else do we have, the princesses don't hunt or do anything really outside the palace but shop," adds Naruto rolling on his stomach and resting his head on his arms. The view for anyone to see is of two blonde girls enjoying the summer sun without a care in the world. The outline of Tomiko's ass was so clear Ino wanted to ask if she forgot to put on underwear again. Resisting the urge to reach out and grab her some ass Ino looks away.

Picking his head up Naruto says, "You know, boobs make this much harder to do." looking down to his chest and rolling over onto his back. Ino Laughs at his predicament and leans over to poke his side when a Shuriken sinks deep into the ground where her head was a split second ago.

Instinct and a lot of training kick in as they both jump into action. Moving to the cover of the nearby rocks they scan the trees for any sign of their attacker. The silences of the birds tell them everything they need to know, they are in danger, a lot of danger.

"Fuck Ino, I am so sorry I didn't bring any weapons with me," said Naruto scanning the garden for any movements. "Not your fault, I didn't bring anything either." is her response as another Shuriken hits the rock next to her face.

Falling back she can feel blood running down her cheek from the rock fragments as Naruto makes three clones and sends them in the direction the shuriken came from. Now that they have given away that one of them is a shinobi Ino rips the dress up to her hip so she has more freedom of movement.

"Coward, attaching two defenseless girls from the bushes, I command you come out and face me," she screams in her best princess Yuka voice.

Naruto has moved away from her and had worked his way to the other side of the pond. If he had a plan he didn't share it with her but she trusted him to cover her back. Deciding a still target is a dead target she runs and roles to the base of a tree as more shuriken dot the ground where she had run.

"Air bullets, great water wave." Naruto and a clone yell out as the pond water jumps into the air to be picked up by the rushing air bullets. The resulting jutsu tears the top of the trees completely off, littering the ground with leaves, branches, and dead birds.

Knowing shinobi, as she is one, Ino spins around and throws a rock at the bushes to her back. The resulting thud tells her she hit her mark. Pulling a shuriken from the ground she dives and roles, as she throws the star at where she would hide.

A set of shurikens go flying out of the same spot randomly flying out, one hitting her in the thigh as she sees Naruto jump from the tree into the bushes. Pulling the star from her leg she runs into the underbrush to find Naruto in his male form rolling around the ground with a Kumogakure nin clearly twice his size.

Seeing blood pouring out of the side of the Kumogakure nin Ino knew she had hit him with her wild throw. This had turned into a street fight with both men kicking, biting, and trying to get an advantage over the other. They were moving so fast Ino knew she wouldn't get a clear shot with the shuriken or her family jutsu as that takes a slower moving target to work.

Breaking an arm free the Kumogakure nin punched Naruto repeated in the face before rolling away. As he stood up searching for his target Naruto kicked the feet out for under him and smashed his elbow into the Kumogakure nin's noise, now gushing blood down his face the nin put Naruto in a chock hold and tried his best to pull his head clean off.

Making a clone appear behind them the clone, getting a running start, kicked the Nin in the back of the head breaking Naruto free at the same time as it popped into a cloud of smoke. Now with both of them on there feet they faces each other like a pair of sumo wrestlers in the ring.

Taking a chance Ino throws the shuriken but only hits him in the shoulder, he brushes it off with a swipe of his hand as Naruto goes for a high spin kick connection with the Nin's upraised hand as he falls to the ground. Using his free leg he kicks up into the groan of his opponent breaking free.

"I am going to kill you slow for that you little shit.", said the nin holding himself with one hand.

Both of them are breathing hard and in this small confined space they didn't want to use any large jutsu that may catch Ino up in its wake, if she would just run this would be a completely different fight but Naruto knew she would never leave him to face this Kumogakure nin alone.

For his part the assassin didn't want to alert any of the local guards, his spy said he would remove the ones around the garden but any loud or flashy jutsu would cause all the others to come running. Pulling a Wakizashi from his belt the Kumogakure nin rushed forward trying to cut Naruto in the gut. Jumping back Naruto back flipped and with his luck was able to kick the blade from the Nin's hand as he landed next to a tree.

Running like a crazy bull the Kumogakure nin caught Naruto around the waist and slammed him back into the tree, smashing both fist into the back of the Nin's head Naruto and the Nin fell to the ground rolling around both trying to get the other one pinned down.

Kicking himself free the assassin yells "Lightning release" shooting bolts of electricity into Naruto's chest only two feet away. He knew that was going to bring the guards running but he was running out of options. Ino seeing the Wakizashi on the ground from where the fight started picked it up and runs behind the lightning user and knees down hiding her find.

Out of breath and seeing Naruto twitching on the ground the Kumogakure nin spins around looking for his target. Finding her curled up on the ground seemingly begging for her life he laughs and walks over.

"The little princess isn't so brave now are you?" he said pulling her head up by the hair. As their eyes meet Ino using all her strength shoves the Wakizashi into his jaw until it comes out the top of his head. Standing back she can only watch as he waves his arms around falling on his back, dead before he hits the ground. "Don't ever mess with a Yamanaka's hair,", said Ino watching the last breath of the shinobi at her feet.

Hearing the yells of the guards as they come running down the garden paths looking for them, Ino freaks out wondering how she can hide Naruto or even explain who he is when they show up. Either case it wasn't going to make the mission any easier. Holding Naruto down as he continued to shake from the lightning Ino didn't know what to do.

Removing her hand from his shoulders Naruto places his hands in the hand signs for his jutsu and whispers, "Sexy Jutsu" just as the guards break through the bushes into the small clearing full of dead ninja and littered with little dead songbirds.

Holding the now blonde girl to her chest Yuka screams and screams until the garden is overfull with guards, house staff, and anyone else within earshot. Using the crowd as cover she pulls Yuka to her feet and runs into the palace giving random orders as she goes hoping the confusion will stop any questioning until she gets both of them safely inside.

Masato was more than a little upset but this time it wasn't at the two princesses and their dam shopping. No, this time his own guards had failed him and he was going to get to the bottom of this failure. There was a spy in the palace and he was going to find them and make them pay in blood.

Ino sits still, watching the doctors wrap her leg in bandages all the while telling her they are calling for a medical ninja to hear her properly. She can only pray it isn't someone she knows from the hospital, sitting there she can only wait and hope.

Tomiko lays in bed next to her with cold cloths on her forehead and somehow a bowl of steaming ramen on a tray. Seems you don't say no to a hurt princess and when she asked for ramen she get ramen.

The sounds of noodles being slurped have a calming effect on Ino's nerves as a med nin walks in all business like, without even looking at Ino she places her blue glowing hand on Ino's leg. Ten seconds later the med nin is gone, clearly bored of this whole royal scratch she didn't even ask how it happen.

Hours pass, the sunsets and still they can't get the people out of their room. Having two near-death incidents in as many weeks has put the royal palace on high alert and that means the two most important people are not to be left alone.

At one point Yuka orders them to leave but all she gets is, it protocol and they stay asking for the thousandth time if she needs anything.

Giving up she decides if they will not leave then she at least will have the comfort of Naruto so she crawls into Tomiko's bed, pushing the 10 empty bowls of ramen to the side, and wraps her arms around the blonde pulling the blankets up over there heads. As the servants take the empty trays away she whispers "You OK in there."

Either because he didn't care or simply found nothing strange about this Naruto cuddled into Ino's breasts and said "I'm fine, just a little upset I wasn't able to protect you better."

Maybe being in a girl's form for so many weeks has affected him, Ino thinks as she notices a tear running down Tomiko's cheek. The training she received from her father explained a lot about how men and women process emotions differently. Without his normal outlet, Naruto has to process his feeling in a more feminine way.

"Things are just weird is all", he didn't say much else, but he kept his head on her chest under the covers. She placed her own hand on Tomiko's cheek and Ino suddenly felt her stomach heat up, "Oh this isn't right", she thinks as an urge to do more hit her.

Naruto wasn't a quiet person, and he certainly loved to talk, so when she found him unable to answer more she couldn't help but feel he needed to let it out.

The heat turned to a flame when she felt Naruto rub his face on her breast to clean the tears away and turn his face up to her, he locked his fingers around her own as he gave her a squeeze, "Thanks though. I know you and Sakura are friends and I hope last night doesn't get between you two".

"Sakura's a good person...she's really pretty and smart too," he said putting his head back down. The strangeness of the situation didn't get past her as she was in bed with a blonde girl, talking about sex as a man who also loved another woman who told him to have sex with other women, it was making her head spin. Add on top of that, the room had at least three other people in it all waiting for her to say a word.

Ino was selfish, something she accepted about herself a long time ago. She'd worked on it with her father and eventually he said she would outgrow it, but now she felt jealousy grow in her stomach listening to him talk about Sakura, she interrupted, "So you're telling me, I'm not?"

Wishing she hadn't said it as soon as the words were spoken.

"No you are," Naruto said quickly, raising his head again to look her in the eye.

"Sakura and I are more than friends, much more," she said getting a confused look from the blonde in her arms. She felt a small pit of anger towards Sakura at that moment deep inside, especially now that she can see what the real problem was between Naruto and Sakura. They don't talk, not about anything important, for Sakura it was all about the next fuck and poor Naruto was scared of her most of the time they were together. She would have to talk to Sakura soon about using Naruto's emotions against him, it wasn't fair, he truly deserves better.

Having a deep conversation while hiding under covers like small children, all the while talking in hushed whispers was not easy. Pulling the blonde back down to her chest, she said to the hovering servants, "Turn off the lights and leave, we are going to sleep."

"Yes my lady, I will sit here in case you need anything." said the head maid taking the chair next to the window. She had her orders and a spoiled princess isn't going to change them.

Holding the blonde's head to her chest Ino whispers "Oh, Fuck, we really need to talk.", feeling upset at herself as much as Sakura she decided to deal with it in the morning before forcing herself to sleep.
