The Return

Naruto sent a clone with Deidara's head to burn it in the remains of any puppets it could find, Naruto himself went over to ask the girls how Kakashi was doing as they laid him on his back in the sand.
"How does it look,", he asked as he hovered over Sakura who was scanning Kakashi for any real damage. Naruto noticed that Sakura's dress was so torn it was almost falling off, he could see most of her smooth back shining in the sun without a mark on her. He still marveled at her skill not only to heal others but herself.
"I don't know how he does it but there isn't a scratch on him.", said Sakura looking up over her shoulder.
"It's just like in Wave country, he just has chakra exhaustion.", said Sakura standing up and facing Naruto pulling her dress closed and wiping the dirt off her face with the back of her gloved hand, giving him a half smile. Sakura felt Hinata standing up behind her, without her overly large overcoat Hinata didn't look like the sweet innocent Hyuga princess anymore. With her way too tight black shirt and skin-tight leggings, she gave off sex appeal in waves.
"It's the eye, he doesn't have the blond for it and it drains him.", said Sasuke as he walked back carrying their three travel bags to drop them at their feet.
"He used a jutsu even Itachi would strain herself to use.", said Sasuke as his sister was the benchmark for all Uchiha, as it should be.
Bending over Naruto picked up Kakashi and threw him over his shoulders in a fireman's carry before turning to face his small team of companions.
"I can carry him to Suna, let's get away from that smell,", he said pointing with his nose towards the rising smoke from the burning puppets and random body parts they contained.
They ran west following the tracks Akamaru left in the shifting sands until the wind finally covered them. With the sun setting, they tried to increase their speed but all of them were tired from the long run into the sand sea and the fight with the Akatsuki.
"Oh god, Naruto put me down," said Kakashi having woken up from all the bouncing around.
Stopping Naruto lowered Kakashi down to sit with his back again on a sand dune as the stars came out and gave the desert a strange beauty. Seeing the others drop down to the ground Naruto guessed it was time to make camp.
"How you feeling Kakashi Sensei.", asked Hinata in her soft popper voice that no longer fit her look at all.
"Like some crazy bomb throwing nut job was trying to kill me,", he joked as he laid back into the sand.
"I just need one good night's sleep and I will be able to travel on my own, can one of you set up my tent?", said Kakashi not moving a muscle as he closed his eyes.
Making some clones Naruto set up his and Kakashi's tents on different sides of the sand dune wanting some privacy from whatever Kakashi did in his tent. The others followed suit with Hinata helping Sakura as Kurenai sensei had taken her travel bag with her, Hinata figured she would be sleeping with someone tonight.
Once the camp was made Sakura used one of her earth jutsu to make some small rock seats with a fire pit in the middle, giving Sasuke a look she pointed at the fire pit expecting him to get something burning to push back the cold for the night. Naruto looked at Sakura with her dress ripped and her hair burnt around the edges she looked like a pink-haired sex demon on a rampage. Seems Sasuke thought the same as he didn't say anything as he dutifully started a fire.
Now that everything was as she wanted it Sakura crawled into her tent leaving the others to find seats around the fire.
Naruto pulled out some instant Ramen from a scroll in his travel bag and pasted the cups around to the others. For once Sasuke didn't complain about Ramen as he didn't have anything left to eat in his bag.
As they were sitting around the campfire Sakura came out of her tent wearing only her biker shorts and a crop top that barely covered her breast. She was busy combing her hair trying to get it back into some type of style that wasn't reminiscent of a cat fight. Her burnt and torn dress was useless at this point and she had been having trouble trying to keep in on as they ran.
Sitting across from Naruto she took her Ramen in silence as they all thought about what had happened in the last couple of days. They had traveled halfway across fire country and fought two S-rank missing nin all in less than three days. They all had the same thought if this is what it is like being a Jonin it's going to suck.
"Do you think Gaara is Ok.", said Naruto tossing the empty cup into the fire.
"I checked him before Lady Chiyo wrapped him up, he was healthy but beat up with a good case of chakra exhaustion from being cut off from the One-Tail.", said Sakura turning on her doctor personality.
Naruto was trying his best to keep distracted but he had used so much of his chakra along with the foxes that he was feeling very pent up. Staring at Sakura he knew she would be more than willing or more likely that Inner self of hers but he was still thinking about what she said no later than yesterday about not being sorry.
Looking at Hinata out of the corner of his eye as she sat facing Sasuke to his right, she looked incredible in that untouchable way Hyuga gave off. He tried to listen to what she was saying to Sasuke but the ringing in his ears from the fox and his own need was blocking everything out.
Sakura watches as Naruto seems to be bouncing around without moving before he stood up and started pacing. As he moved off into the shadows she stood up and followed him.
"Naruto,", she said as she got closer to him
Spinning around to face her she could see the faint glow of red coming from his eyes.
"No Sakura,", he said knowing what she wanted.
"I can't, not now, not until that Inner of yours understands how I feel.", said Naruto keeping Sakura at arm's length knowing that if he let her touch him all his defenses would fall.
"I understand, and I have done my best to talk to her but I know this sounds funny but she does have a mind of her own.", said Sakura with a smile
"Then when she does understand tell me but until then, it's just no, OK.", he said walking off to find his tent and maybe get some rest before the sun came up.
Returning to the campfire Sakura joined Hinata and Sasuke who seemed to be talking about clan laws and how leadership was passed down from one generation to another. Sakura knew Hinata was trying to get Sasuke to agree to her crazy plan of removing the civilian council and putting the clan's council back in power. It was only who would lead from the red chair that Sasuke had issues with.
"I agree Lady Hinata,", said Sasuke in his formal clan head voice, "but why the Uzumaki, it should be the Uchiha that lead the clans to power."
Hinata gave him her smallest smile before saying, "The Uchiha are almost all gone, and unless you take a wife or two in the next few years you will not even be a clan. The Uzumaki were chosen by all the clans years ago, even the Uchiha choose them, as they are one of the oldest clans in the world and are known for their long lives and fair dealings. Lady Karin has shown to all that have met with her that she is strong, intelligent, and fit for leadership."
"She was trained by Orochimaru, she has the heart of a snake.", said Sasuke trying his best to find a reason not to back this crazy scheme. He hated the civilian council and Danzo even more but was he willing to trade leadership of the clans for vengeance.
Taking her seat between them Sakura looked from one to the other before she said. "Karen is many things but a snake isn't one of them, she has the heart of an Uzumaki with a thousand generations of Uzumaki blood behind her. With Naruto focusing on being Hokage she is really the better choice."
"I still stand on my demand that an Uchiha lead the clans, it is our right", said Sasuke
Hinata didn't break eye contact with the Uchiha as she straightened her back and said, "You are a traitor and have proven yourself unfit to lead, we all know that, even your sister knows that. If anyone has a right to lead it is Itachi but you know that can't happen."
Holding her hand up to stop him from talking she continued, "You want vengeance for all that has been done to you and your clan, back me, back Naruto and I will make sure you get your bloody vengeance."
"Your words are hard Lady Hyuga. Do you speak for the clans or yourself.", said Sasuke.
"The truth is always hard and if you can not bend to the truth then it will surely break you.", said the future leader of the Hyuga.
Hinata looked at Sasuke until he gave her a small nod he said, "I never really wanted to lead the clan, that was always Itachi's place but until Danzo is held responsible she will not be accepted back into the village."
"Then it is agreed, you will back Karin and I will work with you to get justice for your clan and most importantly for your sister.", said Hinata standing up to face Sasuke.
He stood and gave her a formal bow that she returned before sitting back down.
"Now with that settled how is Naruto?", said Hinata breaking into a smile, having expected Sakura to be with him for the night, she was curious what happen after they walked off.
"He is still mad at Inner and wants nothing to do with me.", said Sakura crossing her arms over her small chest before stretching out her legs to the fire.
Hinata frowned and activated her Byakugan for a couple of seconds before standing up with a determined look on her face she marched out of the fire light heading toward Naruto's tent with long steady strides.
"Guess you lost your job tonight.", said Sasuke with a hint of a smile as he leaned into the fire to watch the flames jump into the air and fall back again over and over.

"I thought you had better control over her.", said Sasuke watching Sakura with a clinical eye and doing his best not to listen to the couple in the tent screaming out their joy to the world.
"I know and I do but it still feels strange to just turn her off like that,", said Sakura looking at Sasuke who had gone back to staring at the fire.
"It's just that sometimes I need someone to talk to and you're no use in that department.", added Sakura hoping to break Sasuke out of his self-imposed trance.
Looking over at her he said, "You need to make yourself worth talking to.", before returning to his fire.
"You know Sasuke, you used a lot of chakras today, do you want to, you know do it.", said Sakura grinning at him as she pulled at her top as if to take it off.
"I would rather stick it in this fire", he said getting a laugh out of her as she moved closer.
"Oh come on Sasuke, we both know you need it and it's only sex, we don't have to like each other for that.", said Sakura as she moved to sit next to the Uchiha avenger.
Turning to look her fully in the eye Sasuke leaned close to her until their noses almost touched and said, "I know it's you Inner and if you don't let Sakura back out I will lock you away myself."
With that, he tapped her on her overly large forehead before returning to his fire.
Rubbing her eyes Sakura said, "Dam it Sasuke you don't have to do that, she was just playing with you."
As if that was a signal Hinata once again announced to the world her release.
Turning to look at the tent again Sakura said, "He knows how to do a silencing seal, that bastard wants me to hear this."
"Naruto doesn't think that way," said Sasuke defending his only friend.
"Oh Sasuke, you should give your teammate more credit than that.", said a voice from out of the shadows.
They both looked up as Itachi came walking into the light of the fire. Dressed in her skin-tight black outfit with the Akatsuki robe over her arm she looked part killer, part sex goddess all rolled into one person.
"Fuck what are you doing here.", said Sakura getting ready to run or fight depending on the next move that crazy Uchiha makes. She didn't trust Itachi for one second and if it wasn't for Sasuke not making a move she would have run to get Naruto.

"Come on Sakura, time to wake up, we need to get moving.", said Naruto to no effect. Getting a little worried about what could have happened last night he looked to Sasuke's tent before yelling.
"Hey, bastard, what happen to Sakura last night!", yelled Naruto getting Sasuke to come out of his tent and walk over. Naruto expected Itachi to come out with him but he seemed to be alone.
Squatting down on the other side of their teammate Sasuke looked at her from head to toe as if he had never seen her before, reaching out with one finger he touched her shoulder and looked up at Naruto.
"She's not dead.", he said in his most deadpan voice.
"I know that. What did you do to her.", said Naruto smiling a little at Sasuke's joke.
Rolling her onto her back Sasuke tried his best not to touch her with more than two fingers. Making a hand sign and with his eyes turning red he pressed a finger against her prominent forehead.
Sakura's eyes popped open and she tried to focus on the world around her, finally seeing Sasuke hovering over her she grabbed the front of his open shirt.
"I am going to kill you one of these days.", she said.
Sasuke pulled her hand away and looked over to Naruto and said, "She seems normal to me.", standing up Sasuke walked back into his tent.
"Sakura you OK", said Naruto still down by her side, Sakura looked at him with wide eyes remembering all the wild things she had dreamed he did to her in that twice-dammed Uchiha Genutsu, she opened and closed her mouth a few times trying to think of something to say.
"Naruto-Kun, do you want me to pack your tent for you.", said Hinata as she walked up behind him and looked over his shoulder at the still prone Sakura.
"That would be great Hinata,", said Naruto standing up and holding out his hand to Sakura so he could pull her up to her feet.
Now standing Sakura watched as Hinata walked back to his tent with a sway to her hips and a little wiggle she has never seen anyone but Ino pull off this early in the morning. Glancing up at Naruto and seeing that big stupid grin on his face she had to stop herself from punching him in the face.
"Had a good time last night.", said Inner, Sakura not able to stop her before the words came out.
"Oh, it was great,", blurted out Naruto without thinking who he was talking to, glimpsing something moving next to him he turned his head just as Sakura's fist hit him in the jaw.
Now laying on the ground he got to watch Sakura's little ass wiggle its way across the camp as she reach her tent and crawled in to pack her things away.

Lady Chiyo followed the tracks of the members of team eight until she found them camped at the bottom of a large sand dune halfway back to the sand village. It was the middle of the night with a bright moon and stars overhead. When she was much younger such a night would pull her to the top of the dune to watch the sky as it moved slowly into the morning.
Now older and some would say wiser she only had honor and duty left to her, with the last of her family dead by her own hands. It would not surprise her if her bother dropped dead at the news of her grandson's death. That boy had been that old fool's pride and joy when he was young.
Walking into the light of the fire she could see the Aburame standing watch over Gaara as he lay in the sand next to the fire. Still wrapped in the travel clothes she had put him in she knew he was safe behind the many layers, some including seals of her own making.
Having passed many of the little black bugs far into the desert the old woman knew the Aburame was aware of her long before she found them. Taking a place next to the fire she looked at him staring at a bug on the tip of his fingers.
"The Kikaichu told me you were coming, you are thinking, and you are right.", said Shino turning his head slightly to look at her.
"At night the desert comes alive I have heard your people say, my Kikaichu have fed well tonight on the many creatures in the sand.", said Shino looking back at the queen on his finger as she reported to him the activities of the swarm.
He would be bringing back much knowledge and some samples of the sand insects to the clan to study. He knows he is the first member of the Aburame clan to reach this deep into the land of Wind in many years. Entering Sunagakure will earn him many new queens to breed when he returns.
It was his father before him that had reached its tall walls in one of the last great wars but he would enter those walls a feat even his father was unable to do. If he is able to lay down colonies within the sand village itself then he would be rewarded with a wife to be his queen. With a queen at his side, he would only be a step away from the clan head. Shibi his father had told him to always be cautious and never to underestimate an enemy. As the 'Pride of Aburame', Shibi was a great leader but even he had said his son would become more powerful than him.
'I will be cautious father but I also will be bold as the fox I call a friend.", thought Shino once again turning his head slightly to look at Lady Chiyo as she check Gaara for any travel damage.
Hearing a woman's moan Lady Chiyo looks to the small tent at the side of the dune and then back to the bug user.
"I thought your female teammate stayed behind.", said lady Chiyo
"You're question is, who is in the tent, the answer is Sensei Kurenai.", said Shino focusing back on now three queens on his hand.
"In my day a Sensei didn't deal with her student's needs.", said the old lady.
"I am sure Kiba is glad he is not back in 'your day' as you state.", said Shino, with Kiba using all of his strongest jutsu today he was surprised he had lasted as long as he had.
"What of you bug user?", ask Lady Chiyo trying not to listen to the noises coming out of the tent not twenty feet from the fire.
"The chakra poison is consumed by my colony and they, in turn, use it to grow stronger.", said Shino
"hmmm,", grunted out Lady Chiyo as she smoothed out a spot in the sand and laid down for the night.
…
"Man will you look at that, for wind users they sure know how to make a stone wall.", said Sakura as she looked up at the tall walls surrounding Sunagakure.
"They must be 200 feet tall", said Naruto as they walked toward the knife-thin opening that was the entrance to the village. As they got close it seemed to be getting wider as the walls got taller.
Stopping at the entrance and looking up Naruto said, "Maybe 600 feet.", he said as his team walked pasted him into the village.
It was mid-morning and the guards seem to be expecting them as team ten had passed this way already. One of them ran into their office and came out with a large overcoat to place over Sakura, it wasn't proper for a woman to be walking around with so much skin showing, Sunagakure had rules about such things he told them.
"I will have one of my men show you the way to the hospital, Lady Chiyo said you should head there first.", said the squad leader as he checked that Sakura was decently covered.
As soon as everyone was accounted for one of the guards stepped forward and gave a small bow and said, "Can you fallow me, please."
They walked the sand-covered streets of the village quickly getting lost in the winding street. Reaching a crossroads they looked up to see a large building with the word "Doctor" on the side. The Suna Hospital is a large spherical building located in the middle of the village, it bears the kanji for "doctor" near the top. As they entered Sakura noted it has a small clinic, only capable of performing checkups to examine patients. Unlike the leaf's hospital which was built for housing many civilians along with shinobi, this building was mostly centered around a large operation room which allowed medical-nin to perform surgery on the critically injured. As they waited in the lobby Sakura looked around finding signs pointing to a large greenhouse, which she assumed would contain a number of medicinal herbs that would normally not be capable of growing in the hot, desert climate.
"Is something wrong Sakura?", asked Hinata joining Sakura off to the side.
"No, not really I am just surprised they don't have better facilities for a village this size.", said Sakura having spent endless days working in the leaf's hospital.
Hearing the sound of the double doors at the end of the room burst open they turn to see team eight come walking into the room.
"Hinata,", yelled Kiba as he ran over and looked at the shy but coatless Hyuga princess.
"Is everything alright, does anybody need medical assistance.", asked Kurenai scanning the room of shinobi. She spotted Kakashi off to the side and walked up to him as he leaned against the wall.
"Are you hurt Kakashi?", she asked having never seen him acting this way before, with no sign of an injury and no little orange book in hand.
"Just need rest is all Kurenai, both Akatsuki have been eliminated so we don't need to worry about them showing up again.", said Kakashi.
The room soon filled with the sound of both teams telling their side of the last battle with Kiba being the loudest bragging about how he was the first to attack. Shino said little but stayed in the group enjoying being in the company of his temporary colony.
Walking over to Kurenai Naruto said, "Do you know if we can visit Gaara, I want to see how he is doing."
"I don't know, his sister is keeping everybody but the doctors out of his room, even the village elder but for Lady Chiyo.", said Kurenai.
Not one to take no for an answer Naruto waited for his chance and slipped out one of the side doors, finding some stairs he headed up knowing that if Gaara was anywhere it would be on the top floor, Exiting the stairs he soon found a long curved hallway that seemed to go around the top of the building.
Walking down the hall passing a few doors with no guards he didn't even bother to look inside when he spotted two Jonin standing guard in front of a pair of double doors he knew he found Gaara's room.
"Hey guys, how's it going.", yelled out Naruto as he walked right up to the Jonin as if he belonged in this hallway.
Inside the room, Lady Chiyo was looking at her Kage as he opened his eyes and looked at her for the first time. She didn't know what had finally woken Gaara but she walked over and shock Temari awake. The poor girl had been sitting at Gaara's bedside ever since they arrived at the village. Having watched one bother near death she refused to leave the other.
"Gaara, my Kage, are you awake.", said Chiyo checking his pulse and placing a hand on his forehead.
"Yes.", said Gaara not taking his eyes off of her as she moved around the bed.
"Oh Gaara, thank god you're OK,", said Temari holding his hand, and then once he looked at her falling on his chest and letting out a loud cry.
"I will live.", said Gaara patting Temari's back and looking over to Lady Chiyo.
The old lady moved to the other side of the bed and said, "It is your bother Kankuro, the poison my grandson used is something we have never seen before, I have slowed its progress but if we can not find an antidote soon he will die."
"Then your grandson will die as well.", said Gaara in his cold voice that all of Suna had come to fear in his youth.
"There is no need for that, I killed him myself.", said Lady Chiyo.
"Don't lie you old bitch.", said a tearful Temari, "It was shinobi from the leaf that rescued Gaara and kill that sociopath you call a grandson."
"Watch your words 'girl' as I am not so old that I can't still put you down.", said Chiyo showing a flash of arrogance from her youth.
"Who from the Leaf,", said Gaara as he wrapped his hand into the back of Temari's shirt to prevent her from going after Lady Chiyo. He would deal with the old woman later in a more private setting.
Turning back to her brother Temari said, "It was Naruto and his team, with some others but he is still in the village."
"I would like to thank my fellow Jinchuriki, can you bring my bother Naruto to me.", said Gaara looking at Temari's smiling face. She wanted to see Naruto again for so many reasons.
As if that was what he was waiting for the door burst open and in walked Naruto shaking off the hands of the Jonin that tried to stop him. They knew who he was and didn't put up much of a fight. The whole village knew that Naruto was treated like a bother by their Kage.
"Gaara you're awake,", yelled out Naruto running to Gaara's bedside and looking down at him.
"I was worried about you when they didn't tell us how you were doing so I came looking for you.", said Naruto placing his hand on Gaara's shoulder as if to check that he was real.
"I am well, I hear you saved me from the Akatsuki.", said Gaara.
"It wasn't just me, team Kurenai helped a lot and you know Sakura and Sasuke helped a lot too.", said Naruto, "And Kakashi he was a big help defeating that bomb guy what his name. Everybody is here waiting to see you."
Naruto was once again bouncing around from subject to subject as much as he was bouncing on his feet. Gaara felt better just seeing the energy his best friend had as he filled the room with his enthusiasm.
"Sakura is with you! She is trained by the Hokage, right?", asked Temari pulling free from Gaara's grasp.
"Well yeah, she is the best doctor in the village.", said Naruto bragging about his teammate and sometimes lover.
"Come on, let's go find her my bother Kankuro is dying and our doctors can't find a cure.", said Temari as she pulled Naruto out of the room in search of his pink-haired teammate. As soon as Naruto had a chance he told her they were all waiting in the lobby.

Sakura scanned Kankuro from head to foot with her mystic palm technique and then back again until she was sure of her findings. Someone had found her a lab coat to wear that she had tied tightly around her middle, now free of that horrible overcoat she felt more like herself. Stepping back she looked at his naked body with an open wound on his side. She had removed all the bandages and cleaned off the crushed herbs as soon as she walked in the door.
"I need a bowl of clean water, two, no make that three units of blood. ", said Sakura to the doctors standing around watching.
"You heard her, MOVE.", yelled out Temari as she hovered around the room when they didn't move fast enough.
"Can you save him Sakura?", asked Naruto as he tried his best to stay out of the way.
"I don't know, it has been a long time, they slowed the spread but the poison is everywhere now, even in the bones.", said Sakura in her doctor voice, she was all business now and totally focused.
Once the bowls of water were placed next to the bed and the doctors hooked up the IV for the blood Sakura started forming hand signs for a medical jutsu. The other doctors jumped back as Kankuro's body jumped on the bed and a blue glow materialized around him.
As Sakura held her hands steady over the wound on Kankuro's side the water in the bowl started to flow around until a small thread of water flowed into the air and entered Kankuro's body, it continued until the bowl was empty.
"Increase the blood flow,", said Sakura as she seemed to be staring into Kankuro's body.
In what seemed like hours but was really only a few minutes Temari watched as a thick viscous stream of black fluid floated up into the air and flowed back into the other bowl at Kankuro's side. Once the stream stopped Sakura stepped back taking deep breaths, even with her perfect chakra control this was one of the hardest medical Jutsu to perform.
"What happen Sakura-chan", said Naruto falling back to using her old nickname.
"I was able to pull most of the poison out but there is still some in the bone I can't get to.", said Sakura moving over to stand with Naruto.
"Will he live?", asked Temari pressing her hands together nervously.
"Maybe, I can't really say, I have never seen a chakra poison so aggressive before.", said Sakura.
The room was silent as they all stood looking at Kankuro when the door to the room opened and in walked Shino until he stopped at the foot of the bed.
"Why am I here you ask, Answer, my Kikaichu tell me they know how to remove the chakra poison as they recognized it from fighting the puppet master.", said Shino with his arms crossed and hands up his sleeves, he was stationary waiting for them to acknowledge him.
"Are you sure.", asked Temari willing to try anything to save her bother.
"I only speak when I am sure.", said Shino still not moving but a soft buzzing sound could now be heard.
"OK, then do it.", said Temari
"Stand back everybody.", said Sakura having seen how an Aburame uses their colony.
Pulling his hands free Shino held them out over the body as a swarm of small black flying bugs came flowing out of his sleeves to begin flying in circles over Kankuro's head. As the swarm grew and grew the swarm buzzed louder and louder as everyone in the room backed up until they were all pressed against the walls.
"Extraction", said Shino closing his fists.
All at once the swarm that had grown to three times Kankuro's head stopped moving and dropped entering his mouth and noise as quickly as they could. The sound of one of the doctors could be heard as they threw up into a waste basket.
As the swarm fought their way into Kankuro as if they all wanted to be the first to enter his body, he began to have seizures with his arms and legs shaking uncontrollably. Temari covered her face with both her hands as Naruto looked at her screaming into her palms and turning to bury her face into his chest.
Sakura looked on dispassionately having seen Aburame doctors work, it wasn't something you could ever forget.
As the last of the swarm crawled its way into Kankuro he stopped and seem to freeze in place as if paralyzed. Shino recrossed his arms and waited, watching with all the others for any sign Kankuro would live.
"What happens now,", said Naruto putting an arm around Temari's shoulders.
"How long you ask, the answer is now.", said Shino as he once again held out his arms.
This time the Kikaichu bugs didn't fly out but crawled out of Kankuro and began to fall off the side of the bed to land on the flood. Some were able to make it back to Shino and disappear up his leg but most lay still on the floor until it resembled a fine black carpet under and around the hospital bed.
Crossing his arms again Shino looked down at his dead colony and stepped back shaking his head, "The poison was stronger than we expected but it has been removed.", he said
Sakura moved to step up next to the bed to check on Kankuro when he opened his eyes and sat up licking his lips and moving his tongue around like he had some strange taste in his mouth he didn't know what to do with.
"What happened? Why is everyone staring at me? Hey, where are my clothes,", he yelled out trying his best to cover himself in front of all these strangers.
Grabbing a sheet Sakura cover him as she kicked the dead bugs to the side with her feet with a little chakra to help move them along.
"Kankuro, you're alive,", yelled out Temari as she threw herself on top of him laughing and crying all at the same time.

The next morning as Naruto was getting dressed in his favorite orange tracksuit he thought, 'Man it is great being friends with a Kage, I got this private room all to myself.'
Opening the door and walking down the hall of Gaara's private residence he passed by some of the doors to the other rooms that had been given to all of teams seven and eight. Even Akamaru had been offered his own room but Kiba insisted they share a room with the annoyed nin dog who was looking forward to a quiet night alone.
Somehow Sakura and Hinata had been given rooms next to his while everyone else was on different floors. Temari had said it was only a coincidence so Naruto didn't give it a second thought.
Entering the lower floor and walking into the dining room Naruto found Temari and Gaara sitting at the table as if they were waiting for him.
"Morning Guys, how it going.", said Naruto
Looking up at the clock on the wall Gaara said, "It is not morning anymore but everything is fine."
Using his sand he rang a bell and in walked a line of cooks with plates of food to place on the table. Seeing Ramen Naruto sat down and with a loud "Thank you for the food", started to eat his fill.
With one bowl down and the cooks bringing more Temari said, "I want to take you to my training ground and teach you some of my personal wind Jutsu as a thank you for saving my bothers."
"Oh you don't need to do that.", said Naruto between noodles.
"Allow Temari to teach you Naruto, it is the least we can do.", said Gaara as he picked up some small dried meats from the plate they had placed in front of him.
"Ok ok, it sounds like fun, where is everybody else anyway don't they want to have breakfast," said Naruto pushing another bowl to the center of the table to make room for the next one.
"Everyone else has been up for hours, some went on a tour of the village and others shopping, I believe Sakura asked to be shown the greenhouse at the hospital.", said Temari
Gaara stood and said, "I have a village to run, train hard Naruto."
Now alone Temari looked at Naruto with an evil little grin before saying, "come on let's go, I am going train you into the ground."

"You wished to see me Lady Hyuga.", said Gaara as one of his Anbu walked Hinata into his office. She was wearing the traditional robes of one of the high families of Suna, flowing robes of the finest silk all woven by the hands of her family. She had picked the colors carefully so as not to align herself with any one group. It was the way of politics in Suna that each family wore the colors of the others to show their support for each other.
It was only the highest of families, that of the Kage's themselves that wore the gray of neutrality and the red of leadership. Waving his hand to a chair he allowed Hinata to take her seat before once again sitting in the Kage's chair.
"Thank you for seeing me on such short notice.", said Hinata giving the traditional bow, only moving her head but never losing eye contact.
Placing his arms on his desk Gaara stared at the future leader of the Hyuga clan waiting and watching what she would do. It was a test of wills but he had other business to attend to and was the first to break the silence.
"Your note said it was urgent and concerted Naruto.", asked Gaara not one to beat around the brush or in his case the sand dune.
"Yes, Lord Kazekage, Naruto's clan is on the cusp of assuming the leadership of the clan council. I come before you to ask that you back Naruto and his clan.", said the Hyuga princess.
"The leaf is an ally, we do not get involved in internal politics.", said the Kazekage.
"I agree and as it should be but I am not asking the Kazekage to interfere with the leaf, I am asking Naruto's bother, a bother that owns him his life not once but twice over. Will you back the Uzumaki clan.", said she who would be called the Iron Fist.
"You presume a lot my lady and ask much more than you seem willing to give.", said Gaara
"I only strive for that which is fair and in all things, that which will help Naruto.", said Hinata again with a small bow.
"Word of your devotion has reached into the great halls of Suna and even echo in the offices of the Kage's of the five great lands. But I have a question that is asked and never answered.", said Gaara sitting back into his chair with the sound of sand moving about the room at random.
"Why Lady Hyuga, why do you work so hard, risk so much of your personal and family wealth for Naruto.", said Gaara the bother and friend but always first and last the Kazekage.
"I have watched this small boy that should have died a thousand deaths, who has survived a thousand attacks reach out his hand in friendship to each and every one of his oppressors speaking only words of peace. To marry a woman sworn to kill him and yet is now carrying his child. A man that has traveled to the ends of the continents to save a friend. To risk never seeing his unborn children and you ask me why.", said Hinata as she stood up and walked over to touch Gaara's desk.
"It is I that should be asking you why NOT.", she said slamming her hand down onto the cold stone.
Hinata expected to feel sand coil around her neck or Anbu to come rushing into the room but she didn't expect the smallest of smiles on Gaara's face.
"You speak from the heart as one that has that rarest of gifts, unconditional love, yet I ask again why, it is clear Naruto only wants to be Hokage, why would you want him to be the first chair of the clans.", said Gaara.
Returning his smile Hinata took one step back glancing down at the moving sand she felt around her feet. "It is Lady Karen, clan head of the Uzumaki that will sit in the first chair. I support this as she is strong-willed and wise beyond her years but mostly because Naruto asked it of me.", said Hinata.
Standing as tall as her five-foot-two frame would allow her she continued, "And that is why I ask you, Naruto would never say the words but knowing that his bother supports him, supports his clan as he works for peace in this world, would mean so very much to him."
"You play a dangerous game, with forces even I don't always understand and yet you play it still.", said Gaara as he slowly stood up.
"Tell Naruto that Gaara of the sand, his bother, will support him in all things.", said Gaara holding out his hand.
Hinata took Gaara's hand in hers and bowed over it almost kissing the back of his hand but stopping short.
"I thank you for listening to me and I will pass your message along to Naruto.", said Hinata as she straightened up and released Gaara's hand.
Giving her a small bow he waved his hand at the double doors of his office causing the sand to pull them open.
"I have the business of the village to take care of, may the sand always be cool to your touch and the waters of life are found by your hand.", said Gaara dismissing her with the traditional farewell.

"I don't get it.", said Kiba as he and Shino walked the streets of the village.
"Like when did you learn medic jutsu," said Kiba as he picked up a container for an outside stall before placing it back down.
"You question is am I hiding things from my team, my answer is no, I am not a medic nor have a trained with one, it was a simple matter of consuming the chakra poison.", said Shino walking with his hands up his sleeves staring straight ahead.
"How did you know it would work then.", asked Kiba as he turned his head following the shapely girl that walked by with a large jug of water balanced on her head.
"I did not know, Kankuro would have died without my intervention so if he died while I tried to remove the poison it would have been the same outcome.", said Shino
Snapping his head back to the street as the girl walked around the corner Kiba scratched Akamaru behind the ear saying, "Ok, I see that but you sure lost a lot of your colony doing it."
"You assume my Kikaichu are dead because they were unmoving on the hospital floor, you assume wrong, my Kikaichu can consume any amount of chakra and survive.", stopping Shino turned to face his teammate.
"I now have a large healthy colony full of chakra living in the heart of the sand village in the only place that no one will question missing bodies.", said Shino stopping Kiba in his tracks.
"You are one sick dude you know that, right,", said Kiba finding another girl to watch as he walked past Shino this time determined to get her name.
