With the well sealed, Kagome prioritizes her school career. Rindou always had a soft spot for her, and her alone. She's soft, gentle, and too kind, and Rindou refuses to let her get too involved with certain aspects of his life, just to play it safe. To underestimate her wasn't smart. Either way, she'd get involved, especially since that kid was messing with time, too.

Kagome's life seemed to spiral out of control the moment the jewel fell to land on her shoulders. Following the death of her immediate family, she's found herself living with her cousin, Mikey. The hope of a new beginning turns sour when she manages to catch all the wrong attention. Peace never seemed to have a place in her life.

"Is it not enough?" Kagome could tell that all the talk of her declining health by her friends had a negative impact on Koko. He was always a bit more careful. Always a bit closer, almost as if he was afraid she'd vanish. She felt bad that she couldn't tell him the truth, especially when the only support he thought he could offer was financial- even as she kept turning it down.

By nature, Kagome was anything but cruel. She was kind, compassionate, and friendly, so how in the world did she ever achieve the title of strongest girl in Japan? Kagome, the younger twin of Keisuke Baji, was just like him, yet she was also the complete opposite of him at the same time. Following his death on Bloody Halloween, that line seemed to blur a bit more. As vicious as she was, she was also far too kind, still. Takemichi never expected that she'd be a target of Kisaki, too. Not until it was too late.

Kagome thought all this gang business was pathetic, especially when it seemed one after another, they wanted her to join up with them. It couldn't be helped, especially when she had a penchant for meddling. Sango didn't care. If Kagome got hurt, then they'd be answering to her. Just because they never sided with anyone didn't mean anyone wanted them standing against them.

There was no undoing the past. To hope so was nothing more than wistful thinking. Kagome didn't mind whatever present they shared, just as long as they were together. By some miracle, she seemed more benevolent in the past despite her status.

"I'm sorry Mikey. Please don't blame yourself." Those words, a whispered prayer that raced through her mind, were words that never met the air. Takemichi was burdened with the same curse as his sister- time travel. Changing the past felt impossible, yet he refused to give up. A future where Hina lived, a future where Kagome lived...- That was all he wanted.

"You have me." Those words broke through the clouds in her mind, Izana's lavender eyes searching for her stunning blue. It seemed those words were all she needed. She had him, and, more importantly, he had her. The only family he counted anymore, Izana refused to let her go. Not when he'd found her again, after so many years.

Kagome's been an absent force from Toman due to her trips to the past. Upon picking the mantle back up, she comes face-to-face with Takemichi, a boy much like her with a strange ability to travel into the past. Things will unravel, ties will sever, and bonds will break. The changing of a name won't undo the past. She will always be a Haitani, and that's where her loyalties lie.
