At the lowlands, Aqua crouched down to the newly hatched Cyndaquil and gave her a petting, delighted at the discovery that could resolve a current issue. Xion, Daphne and the crew watched onward in some hope. The pig tailed girl nodded her head, closed her eyes and admitted. "She couldn't have picked a better time to get out of there! She's got to have been waiting." She's looked back up to watch the Solgaleo fly further into the land, circling around what is clearly two paths. Aqua closed her eyes nervously. "You mean to tell me that these pokemon are ready for an adventure, right out of the box?"
Daphne shook her head. "Not always. Everyone starts at the bottom and" and pointed onward. "need to guided to that peak. This gal can be a great help against a wild pokemon. But against those monsters." She cringed at the danger that would be, the Rotom Phone gave a scan and flew to Aqua to show the three moves. "Tackle, leer, extransensory?"
Daphne ohed. "That's another egg move! I think this Cyndaquil's going to need some experience before she can keep up to Nymble. I think she'll be good then." She thought about an plan and opened her mouth, Aqua pointed upward. "I think I know were Solgaleo is guiding us to. Maybe we can use the apricorns over there as a good excuse to do some training." She looked to her student. "Xion, I think we should split up. I'll check that acher while you and Daphne head over to that waterfall. Listen to her advise, it's been invaluable."
Daphne gave an input to her phone and had it follow Aqua. "And just in case, Rotom's coming with you. He can help you spot any pokemon in the area and give some hints as to what to do. Since me and my partners know nothing about those monsters-" Xion connected to the idea. "Whilte me and Aqua do-" Daphne snickered. "Just lead the way and we'll show them why they're messing with the wrong kids." The Nymble hissed in agreement and lead the way with Lil' Marn, the girls and the Incineroar followed along, leaving Aqua and Cyndaquil to themselves.
The Cyndaquil had a sniff of something and scurried onward, giving a light squeak while the woman followed along. Not too long though, a swarm of mechanical, bee like heartless appeared, each equipped with a cybernetic stinger and a generator for an abdomen. The Cyndaquil took a step back as Aqua brought about Stormfall, the shrew gave a Snip Sting a tense leer that caused it to twitch. Aqua closed in on that one and delivered a slash that did much more damage that expected. She blinked for a finishing blow and rushed to two more, one was given a leer and another was knocked prone by a tackle. The Snipe Stings rapid fired sharp needles at the lady who flipped over them and enveloped into an aura of ice, the wasps rushed enmass to try and impale her, only to be swallowed up in a maelstrom and freeze up.
They shattered and released glowing hearts. Five more appeared to try and get a sneak attack, Cyndaquil had enough of a vigor that her back ignited a glow, flames burst out and gave off the aura of smoke. The Cyndaquil scurried to Aqua and gave a puff of smoke at the monsters, blinding one and giving the Keybearer an opening to flow and strike, she let loose a blast of frigid power. A Snipe Sting warped to her personal and readied a fast jab, only to be caught in extransensory power and be hurled to a tree. BLAST!
Aqua's blade was frosting up and her sweat gave a cool feeling. She smiled to the perky Cyndaquil. "Nice work, Cyndy. That girl made this sound a lot harder than it actually-" The Cyndaquil eeped and gave off that psychic glow, Aqua had the chance to see a bolt be thrown off course and turned fast with that heart beat. She saw nothing and kept still, seeing a glimmer at the right corner of an eye and flipping over the next shot before flinging a crystal spear back. Rotom looked behind the woman and caught something in his camera. A man in a black coat and a cross bow.
BZZT!
Aqua took a step back and touched the Cyndaquil to the side, the shrew jumped to her arm and climbed on a shoulder as the Rotom pressed to the woman's back. Aqua gave a fast twirl as Cyndi let loose black smoke, enveloping the three as a voice spat spite. "You're not walking away from this one, Missy!" He warped from tree to tree and fired a barrage at the smoke, each bolt going through it in a complete miss.
Blink! "Missed us!" The Black Coat turned and found Aqua on a branch, readying for a spiders pounce. She leaped after him and crystalized her sword into a great blade. SLASH! The Black Coat warped to another branch and watched the crystal blast across the harden wood.
POOF!
Suddenly, black smoke covered the man and left him blinded. He had the moment to see a glimmer of the crystal power and a harsh tone. "You should have never crawled your hide into these lands!"
The crystal shined in a shift, Aqua was ready to attack, the man took his chance falling off the tree and opening a dark rift as a means to escape. The danger was adverted and Aqua blew the smoke away. She looked around and felt a presence leave, the Rotom was looking nervous and Cyndy tried to jump off a branch and found the distance much. Aqua conjured a cloud to bring the Cyndaquil over and let her on her shoulder. The band jumped off the tree and the human of the group whispered her concern. "We need to get him out of here," She hmmed. "we might have something that would work, but we need to keep it a secret." She envisioned two particular participants that can make the idea work.
The Cyndaquil nearly tired herself out and huffed as the Rotom spoke in text. "How's that gonna work?" Aqua looked around and whispered. "There's a technique we can use, that requires a power of Light and a Power of Dark to pull off. We call it the Power of Banishment, with it we can kick a foreigner out of a world that they're invading, for good." The Phone wowed. "The Power of Dark?" He flashed a list of particular pokemon, from a black rat all the way to a green lizard. Aqua saw a black symbol resembling a moon with a black crescent. She read out loud. "Dark Type?" The Dex showed the picture of the Incineroar and the Morpeko. "That... might work."
She smirked in mischief and winked. "As soon as we find that man, it's going to be over." She readied a ball and tapped on the Cyndaquil for a fast capture, causing a shake before it clicked. "Now, how's it looking for Cyndi?" The Dex showed an eight and advise. "She still needs more training." That is considered and the woman jumped off and followed along the path to an acher of trees that have round fruit. She considered it good fortune as the Rotom got excited and started taking pictures. "The Apricorn trees are still here." The Dex floated to her in curiosity. "How long did you have these?"
The Keybearer recalled. "It started around three days ago, while me and my friends were celebrating a milestone we've accomplished. A band of Seafaring Pokemon were invited here while the best amongst us tried a challenge in this arena some of us created. They spotted something going on in this woods and the most we found were these, that Cyndaquil and some markings in one of the caves." The Dex showed question marks. "How's a cave drawing connected to all that?" Aqua was about to answer as she noticed something by a tree with white apricorns. A tiny, walking, feminine plant bulb that's jumping assertively to a chill brown deer with a large brown nose and a set of antlers that have two distinct orbs, resembling eyes. They were talking.
The Rotom had an exclamation mark and showed a translation. With the image of the bulb and the name, Petilil. "There's no way they've been planning all this unless they were going to put is in this mess in the first place!" The deer brayed, the Rotom showed it's picture and the name, Stantler. "Don't be hasty, Volty was sent to these lands so we wouldn't be lost." He looked above to see a Solgaleo watching over them, he turned to the mountain with the castle "Stantler: Come, it's about time we see more than our kind."
Aqua didn't have the nerve to approach underhanded and let out Cyndi, keeping her in her arms, knowing she was going to make a noise. Even if it was a squeak. The Petilil turned around like a typical girl and eeked, causing the Stantler to turn his head and grunt. "Ler?" The Rotom turned away in a whistle as the human answered. "Someone did set up the events that lead you you all to be stranded in these worlds and we have no idea how far they've went from here. But, we're here to help you guys get through this."
Petilil stepped back nervously as Aqua felt a tad dizzy from looking at the Stantler, she looked to the Rotom that show cased advise that was never asked for. "Most trainers bring around six pokemon with them, so they'll be able to handle multiple scenarios as a team. Think these guys will help us out if we ask them to tag along?" Aqua considered that and placed the Cyndaquil to the ground, letting her get off to solid land. She showed off her blade and explained to the wild pokemon. "You guys have some surprises that we would have overlooked. I want to see how far that's going to go." The Petilil and Stantler looked to each other, then back to the three. The bulb bobbed her head, approached fast and gave a determined squeak. "Petil!"
The Stantler kept to the sideline and watched carefully. The Cyndaquil approached and ignited her back to spout out flames that smoldered out. The Petilil knew what that meant and phewed. Aqua ordered. "Blind her with smokescreen and tackle her, we want this capture to go smoothly!"
The Cyndaquil rushed close and gave the Petilil a puff of smoke, causing the flower to squeak frantically and toss a yellow powder, the Cyndaquil rolled out of the way and gave a tackle. The Petilil gave off a draining aura of green, doing minimal damage and replenishing herself. Aqua ordered. "Now follow with extransensory!" The Cyndaquil gave a glow and flung the Petilil out of the smoke pile, the flower was in a flinch and waddled dizzy. The Petilil shook it off and gave a fierce stance, Aqua brought out a nest ball and tossed it at the bulb. It brought her in and fell to the grassy floor.
Shake... shake... shake... click!
Aqua squeed like a typical girl. "That was a smooth breeze." She picked up the ball and let out the shaken Petilil, she applied a heal and Cyndy tilt her head to ask. (So how you're feeling?) The bulb pounted like a typical child. (Bitter, thought I had a chance when I found out you don't have a fire move yet.) Cyndy was thankful she had another means. (What I got will have to do for now.)
Aqua had an idea on what was being talked about. "That was excellent work Cyndy" She greeted the bulb. "welcome aboard Petilil. Now we have the real challenge." They looked to the Stantler that has taken interest, he raised a brow and clopped a waltz to the grove. (Are you sure about that?) He gave a daring kick. (Try to catch up, human!) He sprinted to the wilderness and Aqua smirked to the challenge. She picked up Cyndy and let her on her shoulder. "This is going to be a tight ride, so hold on." She made sure the Cyndaquil was firmly in place and picked up the Petilil for the other shoulder, the bulb was expecting something maddening and had a firm grip. The Rotom is confused in the matter. "What do you mean by ri-" Aqua grabbed the phone and tied him to her white cloth belt. She focused on the trees, lining up to where the Stantler was running.
Pew!
She flowed across the trees at nimble speeds, giving off a glimmer of light that the Stantler wasn't ignoring. He turned to cross section and halted, turning to face the glimmer and conjuring up a mist. In a sudden, a multitude of Stantler appeared and they took off to the back of the grove in a stampede. Aqua flipped a landing and watched three Stantler turn to make a charge, she leaped to the next tree and found herself beset by green spiders with a face on their abdomen. She hurried to the branch and flowed to tree to tree, getting to a curve and readying for that sprint. Petilil eeked as a spider crawled on Aqua's hand. The woman turned an eye on hearing that eek, seeing she didn't notice. She put her hand back and watched the spider phase through. She had an exclamation mark above her head and touched the spider that was hissing and looking to bite. "An illusion!"
She looked onward to the Stantler stampede and had her sites locked on, flowing after him and accelerating, phasing through each member of the herd and catching up to a clearing. The Stantler found himself at a dead end and gave a turn before tapping a hoof.
Aqua landed in a slide and her misfits jumped off. The Rotom Phone wiggled in the belt and buzzed, Aqua let him off and saw a log on the deer. "Stantler: The Big Horn Pokemon: Normal Type. The curved antlers subtly change the flow of air to create a strange space where reality is distorted." He showed a list of moves that Stantler could learn, most are marked by a pink symbol of an eye. "and he knows a lot of psychic moves!"
She faced the Stantler with some pride. "You nearly had me fooled for a moment there! Now you're going for your next plan?" The Stantler nodded and reared up for a mighty bray. Aqua pointed onward. "And we answer it! Cyndi, let's go!" The Cyndaquil waddled for a fight and the mentor ordered. "Like what we did before, blind him and use tackle!"
The Cyndaquil heated up as the Stantler glowed his horns, enveloped himself in psychic power and charged a psyshield bash. Knocking Cyndi into a roll, the Cyndaquil fired the smoke screen and dodged a tackle. She tackled back against a psychic barrier and found she was doing little. Aqua was seeing the plan wasn't working too much and clapped. "Switch out, Petilil, we'll need that-" The Rotom showed the name of a move and what it does. "stun spore!"
The Cyndaquil took off for the Petilil that took her place. The Stantler glowed for another psyshield bash and missed the Petilil, the Rotom showed Aqua that particular move. "Psyshield bash. Cloaking itself in psychic energy, the user slams into the target. This also boosts the user's Defense stat."
She cringed as the Petilil was tackled into a spin and tossed a stun spore, paralyzing the fearsome deer. "Now drain him!" The Petilil gave that glow, sapped the Stantler of energy and replenish herself in an absorb. The Stantler struggled to move as Rotom showed the options. "Power up with growth and absorb!" The Petilil grew her leaves and was given a leer from the Stantler, she let loose the simple drain and was given a psyshield bash straight to a tree. Petilil squeaked out in pain and slid down, Cyndi scurried back to the fight, more confident that she can win. Aqua ordered. "One more smoke screen and take cover!" The Cyndaquil blasted the black smoke and sent the Stantler into a frantic rush, the Cyndaquil jumped into the smoke to keep herself hidden. "Now use extransensory and don't stop until I give the order!" The Cyndaquil channeled her psychic power and flinched the deer, bringing him into a channel of a psyshield bash that missed, another extransensory blast sent the Stantler to the side. He stomped to clear the smoke and glowed his antlers with a hypnotic aura, Cyndi scurried bellow and kept her vision away from the horns while Aqua called the Petilil back and readied a great ball. The third blast sent the Stantler falling to his side, he struggled to get up.
Glimmer!
Aqua flowed around the deer and tossed the ball at his calf. "Go!" Tap! The ball dragged the deer in, gave a shake and fell to the ground. Shake! Click! Phew! "That was tense!" The Cyndaquil saw won battle and gave a hop of a dance in victory, sparking her flames up and getting so excited that she shot an ember out of her nose. Burst! The Rotom was impressed as Aqua laughed in pride. "That finally brought that fire in you." The Rotom showed the move. "Cyndy has learned Ember. A basic fire move that causes burns."
Aqua winked to the Rotom. "Which is fine by me, since I have an arsenal of magics." She got the Stantlers ball and let him and the Petilil out. She gave a fast heal to get them up, the flower was in a daze from battle and the deer snorted in disappointment. Aqua offered a hand to the Stantler. "Nice fight. Before we head further, we got an intruder that's caused those wormholes and is trying to pick us off for revenge." The deer was surprised and lowered his eye lids in disgust as he stood up. He bucked for the order and Aqua picked the small ones up. "I'm thinking we should head back and catch up with the girls before that crook does. We're going to make it a point, that he's not welcome here!"
The Stantler turned to his side and let Aqua hop on. (And I know just the move to show how little he means.) The Lady of the Land and her ward were firmly on the back as the Rotom floated to her hand. Aqua shined her blade to the sky to signal the Solgaleo that she accomplished her task, the Lion gave a glimmer back and faced the water fall in a sudden. He charged up a glow of the sun and Aqua aimed her blade to the destination. "CHARGE!"
At the waterfall.
Daphne and Xion were caught in an outbreak of shadows and Snipe Stings. The keybearer smashed through hand full of them as the Nymble skittered behind a Snipe Sting and delivered a smack of a kick before folding an extra set of legs and delivering a double kick. Lil' Marn obliterated a Snipe Sting with an aura wheel while Keahi bull rushed a shadow cluster and made them go off in a flare. The trainer watched the Morpeko grow hangry and get rushed by one of the insects. Daphne wasn't liking the look of that. "Give a fresh one a parting shot, it's time Chimery ends this!"
The Morpeko gave spite to a Snipe Sting that was about to jab at Xion and did less damage than expected. The rodent retreated to a ball as Daphne made a stylish switch to a Silvally with a touch a golden mane and pink feathers, the girl felt two shadows leaping at her and rolled to the canine. "On the back, give those bugs a multi attack!"
The Silvally gave a glittering glow and twirled after the heartless, cleaving them in two and circling around to Snipe Stings that realized how much of a threat the girl actually is. The Silvally leaped after the two for multi attack pounce and leaped at the brawl Xion was in. The teenager crouched and drew in a rift of light before flexing and giving off a battle cry, unleashing pillars that surprised Keahi. Daphne ordered fast. "Give the stragglers the lairat and Chimery will finish the rest with the heat!" The Incineroar twirled into a twister and rushed at a cluster of Snipe Stings and shadows. BURST! Daphne pointed in style. "With the fury in your voice, these monsters will be blasted away into ashes!"
Chimery grunted, glared at the heartless and yelled out a heat wave. Xion landed in the aftermath of her attack and was impressed by the combo. Daphne crossed her arms and balked. "That evil's got nothing on us!" The Nymble landed and gave an impressed hiss, she hopped left and right, eager to keep to the fight. The trainer looked down to the bug and crouched to give her a finger pet. "Yeah, this is going to work. You just need to get stronger and that will take time. That evolution shouldn't be too long."
Xion felt the hot blood and kept guard as she saw a pond where the water fall was feeding. "Hey, your partners are keeping up the pace. But how are you able to switch so fast?" Daphne was pleased by that question and stood up. "Someone might be listening, but it's all about getting a momentum and keeping the speed. You hit hard and fast, so making it like you're making a u-turn will help Nymble get in there for a sneak attack kick. Then-" Xion imagined that kind of speed she could reach. "Woah!" Daphne saw that potential. "Buuut, if you can't catch any pokemon, that won't be able to help ya."
The tone sounded a bit snobbish, Xion caught on that was the girl being a trickster. She saw something floating in the pond and hurried to get a closer look, with the rest being drawn in to the serene. In the pond was a large, blue tadpole with a white belly that has a black spiral swirl, swimming around while a brown mudfish was floating on his back and drifting. He had pink, cross bone like gills at his cheeks and a belly of a stripe with three lines crossing horizontally. The tadpole noticed visitors and swam to the edge, crawling up and waddling with stubby feet. The tadpole had pink lips and black eyes. He tilt and asked. "Poli?"
Daphne ohed. "A Poliwag has noticed us," She tilt her head. "And that's a kind of Wooper I've heard about." The Wooper flipped and drifted to the edge of mud, having a look at Xion and Nymble. Daphne whispered. "Looks like they've noticed you. What are you to do?" Xion took a deep breath and readied a net ball and a nest ball. She pointed onward. "We know you guys fell nearby and are trying to find a place to make a home. But there's so much danger going around that we can't ignore it." She vowed. "That's why we got to catch you! Nymble, let's do this!"
The bug leaped for battle as the Poliwag wagged his tail and gave a jump. "Poli!" The Wooper was completely unaware. The Poliwag leaped backwards into the water and swam around fast, popping his head out and spitting a water gun, dazing the Nymble. Xion ordered. "Quick, give him a skitter smack!" The Nymble skittered through the grass and leaped at the Poliwag, causing him to flip backward. Xion tossed the net ball at the Poliwag in short order. It gave a shake and clicked. With that, the Wooper wiggled on his feet and gave a hello. "Woopah!"
The Nymble panted as Xion conjured a green butterfly. "This should help!" She tossed it at Nymble and caused a heal, relaxing her companion to where she was ready for another fight. Daphne gave a fast warning. "This kind of Wooper can take a hit and is part poison. Catch him as soon as you get that chance!" Xion was on it. "Nymble, skitter smack one more time!" The grasshopper leaped to the side and gave a tinted smack from the extra legs that would be mistaken for wings. The Wooper tilt his head back and swiped a purple glowing tail, sending Nymble in a spin and giving her a purple hue. Xion knew that venom got into the Nymble and tossed a nest ball, keeping the Wooper occupied as she applied another heal. "Ouch!"
Flutter! Pulse! Click!
The nest ball made a click, the Wooper was caught and Xion hurried to pick up the captures. The Nymble chirped in pride and closed her eyes to Xion in thanks, the Incineroar crossed his arms and gave an amuse smile as Daphne cheered. "That went smoothly!"
Chimery twitched an ear and turned fast, finding someone standing on a branch and aiming a cross bow at the fledgling trainer. He growled a bark, glowed his claws and sprinted. Daphne had a gasp as she and the group turned in shock and watched the Silvally leap after the man who was noticing the pokemon. Flicker! SWIPE!
The claw severed a tree branch in one go and the Silvally landed, smelling around. Keahi felt a glimmer of a shot aimed at Daphne and twirled to deflect the blow, Daphne tensed her hand like it was a claw and was caught off guard by an arm wrapping around her and holding her firm. Xion gasped at the Black Hood grappling the girl and aiming a cross bow to her skull. The crook raised his voice in a threat. "Nobody move or I pull the trigger."
Xion glared and barked. "What's all this for?! The forge is locked up until we say so." The crook pressed the weapon at Daphne's and had his finger at the trigger. "What's this for?! That armor those clowns have with them didn't come from nowhere and I've been thinking, if that forge could make that, then it wouldn't take much to get that Coots blade all patched up." He backed away to a rift as Keahi and Chimery looked ready to kill. "So, how's about you show me where that is like a good kid?"
Daphne growled a snarl. "You dirty good for nothing-" The crook was at the end of his patience when in a sudden, a sharp jolt coursed through his nerves. Freezing him on the spot, he had a glimpse of a black topped, wooden orb rolling around him and making for Xion. That was the chance Keahi needed, to grab the cross bow arm and lift it high. Daphne crunched her fangs at the mans arm and made him yell out in pain, freeing herself and making a run to Xion. "MESS HIM UP!"
The man had a moment of a heart beat before Chimery clawed him at the stomach and sent him flying to a tree. He warped and was about to fall over. "I hope your master's caught you up, kid!" He snapped his fingers to bring about Snipe Stings that made a rush at Daphne. Xion heard a jingle close by, focused on the swarm and turned her blade into a great bow, she aimed to the sky and fired a fast bolt that burst into a thunder storm. Blasting the heartless to kingdom come. The man tried to warp and was stiffen from the electrical jolt.
Rustle!
At the sudden, a Stantler with a psychic barrier came rushing after the crook, sending him flying to the mountain wall as a woman leaped off to give a battle cry. "Hiya!" She fired a prism rain that the crook warped away from. The girls had the view of Aqua in a tense battle with someone trying to shoot in angles that aren't possible. Daphne was feeling her heart rushing, more heartless were called upon to swarm the girls and a burst of sunlight crashed down. She gave a fast order. "Keahi, help Aqua out and keep this guy from getting away!" The Incineroar was on it and leaped at the man for a grapple.
WARP!
He missed and landed by Aqua, who was relieved to see him. "Just who I need." She directed a hilt. "Touch this and focus on what you're feeling about this man. I'll handle the rest." The Incineroar looked bewildered and touched the hilt, with a wish that the man would be gone. The crook warped to the clustered center and spun with rapid fire bolts. "Good for nothing brats!"
Daphne ducked as Xion rolled over, the Solgaleo took the bolts as the Silvally circled around the danger. Aqua and Keahi gave a glow of light and a dark fire, they aimed the blade as one and let loose a pulse. At a sudden, a keyhole appeared behind the man, giving a line of light before expelling a dark force and knocking him to his back. It let loose a suction and sent him in a scamper, intercepted by Cyndi, who let loose a blast of amber to his face and making him reel in pain. He grappled grass as his weapon was sucked into the vortex. The girls had a chance to get to the Solgaleo and Xion was realizing what was happening. Smiling wide at someone getting his karma, Aqua relaxed and commanded. "Begone from these lands and never return!"
The crook growled and was clawing in desperation. "This isn't over, you and those clowns are going to regret costing me everything!" He brought out the busted blade and tried to fire, Nymble leaped to his face and gave a loud shriek, astonishing him to where he lost his grip on that. Chimery saw the man wasn't a threat and opened a burning maw while Nymble followed with a double kick a hand and knocked it loose, leaping away as the Silvally blasted a heat wave that sent the man screaming to the keyhole.
PEW!
The keyhole disappeared and Chimery woofed. (Get outta here!) Solgaleo grunted to him. (Yeah, good riddance.) They turned to Daphne, who was leaning by the leg and putting a hand to her chest, trying to ease the fear of what nearly happened. "What is that guys damage?" Aqua sighed in pity. "His want is clouding him from the reality that the Keyblade isn't ever going to chose him and in turn, he proves the Keyblade right to shun him away. Perhaps being banished from these lands will make that message more clear?" She shook her head in her own doubt and was more concerned with the girls. "Are you all okay?"
The girl looked to the majestic Stantler with a Petilil on his back and to the sites of a successful capture. "I think I am. Xion was getting herself in a catching spree just now." The student gave a respectful bow and heard another jingle, she looked down to find a round orb of wood, having a black half that had a set of eyes. She recognized the shape and lost her speech as Daphne noticed the tiny hero. "We would have been in more trouble if this guy didn't sneak a thunder wave where that crook wasn't looking. This Voltorb-" She snapped her fingers to call the Rotom, getting an analysis and realizing what it is. "this... hisuian variant, is kind of a hero!" She quest to the girl. "You might want to consider bringing him along."
Xion had her adrenaline cool as she recognize more of the shape. "You look like a dream friend I've made. Volty?" The Voltorb tilt side ways in confusion and gave a sparkle, the girl pressed her lips, certain that this pokemon is familiar. The crackling gave Xion a reason to step back, Daphne was seeing a fierce one. "I'd thought they be friendlier compared to the modern ones. Xion, heal up that Wooper and have him give it a go. He's immune to that electricity and the poison typing keeps the grass from doing too much damage."
The teenager had that in mind and sent out the Wooper, giving a fast butterfly and asking. "Muddy, let's catch that Voltorb!" The Wooper laid there and stood up, looking to the orb that gave a spin and had an aura of grass. He fired a blast of energy that did substantial amount of damage and the girl ordered. "Swipe him with a poison tail!" The Wooper sprinted after the Voltorb and flipped to where he was rolling, giving a purple dripping smack, the Voltorb was dizzy from the blow and Xion had a nest ball ready. She hurled the pitch and gave a battle cry as the orb flung and tapped the creature. It gave a shake and fell to the grass.
Shake. Click!
Voltorb was captured, Nymble chirped in congratulations and applause for the Wooper that sat on his rear and gave a glow, recovering from the damage. A pleasing mystery that saved Xion time, she picked up the ball and raised it high. "Gotcha!" She cheered to her trusty partner. "Good work, Wooper!" The mudfish smiled wide as the girl let out the dazed Voltorb that was calming down, looking around like he was caught red handed. Aqua clapped in pride. "Impressive, now-" Daphne looked to the Solgaleo. "We still got some land to explore. What was that gate way thing you pulled?" Aqua explained. "As I said, it's the Power of Banishment. It expels invaders back to where ever they came from and until the banisher says other wise, it is permanent. We won't have to worry about anymore dangers from that man and instead we can focus back on the Pokemon. They could come in handy, as we've seen." Daphne and Solgaleo found that a blessing, the girl asked. "Go mark any more spots we have to find, we can ease up now." The lion grunted and ascended to the side of a mountain that has traces of an abandoned settlement.
Aqua felt there was more ground to cover and conceded. "You were right about these pokemon having potential. Are we going to have more visitors from this family of ours? Some of us could use the guidance?" Daphne shook her head. "Doubt that, Poppy's busy with handling things from home and we know Leon's going to be fine." She recalled a split path that Solgaleo hinted at. "Is there anything else past the Apri grove?" Aqua recalled. "That's where we found that cave, where some old friends were using for a base. Solgaleo is spotting something in that old settlement that Mayor Wanda use to have." She asked her student. "Xion, go see what's over there. Daphne and I can search the mountain." The student gave a warriors salute and called back the Wooper. "Let's see what's over there!" The three hurried and left the youngster charmed. "It's always feels right when that person takes the first step to becoming a trainer. You know they're going to make a lot of friends when you see them again."
Aqua agreed with that and sighed. "It might take time, but it makes the moment that much sweeter." Daphne called Keahi back and got on Chimery, shaking from her experience with death. The Silvally gave a light woof on feeling the tension as Aqua picked Cyndi up and got on the Stantler, the two strolled over to a mountain that had signs of volcanic activity and had a cave way inside. The Stantler halted and tapped his back hoof. Aqua took a deep breath and got off, carrying the small ones with her and asking. "Something big is in there?" The Stantler grunted. (We need to be careful there, something powerful is lurking.)
Daphne got off and guessed. "There's a few details I didn't go over, there are pokemon who are considered legends and those who can rival a lesser. I also happen to be a Champion in my region." Aqua wasn't surprised by the last part. "Which explains why you know so much and instructed us as we went along?" Daphne nodded and showed a ball. "Since we don't have anymore heartless or what ever, I think I can get off my toosh and show what I can really do." She lead along. "Most of that was taught after a friend of mine evolved this fighting type and the fact we've grown up with some rough pokemon. So..." She smiled nervously. "I'm kind of useless when someone around here figures out that I give the orders." Aqua gasped and called the Stantler back, she admitted. "Well, there's only so much you can do without a weapon. But if you weren't instructing us, we wouldn't have been anywhere as efficient in rounding up these creatures."
The band were the entrance of the cave and entered, feeling the touch of ashes and notice a glimmer of something. At a chamber with a particular symbol, Daphne recognized it and snapped a photo. "Ooooh!" CLICK! "This is important!"
Aqua looked down at the symbol of a halo. "We've found that at around the time we found Cyndi's egg. What do you know of it?" Daphne raised a finger and halted to a better one. "I think if your friends have phones, it be better if I get a dex downloaded into them. Entry #493 will tell you everything you need to know. This symbol's connected to some really important things in the Sinnoh region. Also known as in the older times, Hisui."
A glimmer became that much stronger, a tunnel with crystals. Housing something of a shine. Daphne had a closer look and the crystal gave a shine that flowed to something in the girls pocket. Gleam! The girl's heart skipped a beat as she reached and pulled out a black orb, emit a shine. Petilil was drawn to that shine and Cyndi scurried to have look at the tunnel. Chimery jumped and barked as Aqua felt something suspicious. "What's that and why is it drawing in that light?"
Daphne pressed her lips together, was compelled to charge in and resisted that urge. "Tera crystals... it's feeding power to this Tera Orb." She pressed her lips together. "There's a region where this stuff is common. A sparkly crystal that can allow you to change a pokemon's type into just about anything or empower them." She turned to face that light. "Terastallization... someone's been cooking something around here, under your nose." She smiled wide. "And there's one way to find out!"
She gave a sprint into the tunnel, Chimery followed behind her and the little ones kept behind on an instinct. The light getting stronger and stronger to where it was blinding, Daphne closed her eyes for that moment and opened them up, seeing a figure turning to face her and keeping guard. Something resembling a chubby, humanoid lizard. BURST! "MAG!" In the center of a crystal den, lied a fiery lizard with a bird bill, a black collar, black wrist and black ankles. He had a glow of a fierce orange and extended his arms for a battle pose. Hiding behind was a smaller creature, resembling a hatchling, looking completely lost.
Daphne felt her heart skip a beat. "A Magmar!" She readied a ball and gave a toss, letting out Keahi, who gave an intimidating flex. The surroundings were of crystalizing mist, shining reflections of the strange foe. Aqua slide in and is completely taken away by the scenery, the Magmar channeled a strange power and regained confidence before charging at the Incineroar and delivering a mach punch. The Incineroar parried it and spun the Magmar away as the girl ordered. "Lairat and parting shot!" The Incineroar gave a spin to toss the Magmar away, the flame beast caught a footing and pressed his hands together to focus. "Dodge that focus blast!" The Incineroar dashed forward as the Magmar fired, leaping over and giving some spite that drew attention. "Lairat!"
POW!
He and the Magmar collided blows, the flame beast leaped back and tossed a focus blast that made it's mark. Smack! Glimmer! Daphne felt her orb shining and aimed it. "Hope you like this!" WOOSH! The tera orb let loose a swirl of stellar power and radiated, Daphne gave the orb a hurl and let it collide with the Incineroar. In a sudden, his body was encased in a crystal that turned fiery red. BURST! The crystal shattered, yet the Incineroar was in that red glow, shards scattered around to reflect the confident pokemon and the trainer who was in a sense of discovery.
The Magmar cringed and threw a mach punch, doing less than super effective damage as he was thrown across. "Now!" Daphne raised her fingers to the side. "Make like a blitzing meteor and smash that crystal out of him!" The Incineroar crouched as his body was engulfed into a fire ball, he rushed on all fours at a Magmar that was gazing upon his defeat. SMASH!
The blitz caused the Magmar's frame to shatter and send him flying to the mist, he caught his footing, breathed heavily and leaned downward. The match was considered over and Daphne crossed arms in sync to Keahi's pose. The Magmar looked over to the Magby and gave a grunt to him, having him scurry to a crystal while the den was giving that radiance. Daphne readied a poke ball as the mist became more blinding, the Magby returned with a bag of something as the area glimmered. With a simple shine, the crystals disappeared, along with the Magmar. Leaving the youngster with something to give, he presented it to the girl and the Incineroar, who felt the shine fade away. "Mag!" (He said to give this to you if you win!) The Incineroar raised a brow, took the bag gently and showed it to Daphne. Who opened it to find electrical yellow crystals and a note of dots.
? !
"Braille! Let's see." She had the Rotom translate the message and read out loud. "Show her the book." Aqua waved her hands. "What book?!" Daphne ahad. "I know what it's saying. Give me a second." She approached the Magby and crouched to pet him. "You need to be more careful, a lot of strange things are going on and you might end up agreeing to something that can blow your mind." The Magby heeded that, reached for the girl and laughed merrily, Daphne went for nest ball and showed it to him. "This! Once your in here, it's going to be a while before I can let you out. I might have an idea if Xion finds a grass type."
The Magby calmed down and let himself be captured, the girl stood up and put the ball away. "I'll need to know, do you know someone who isn't much of a fighter but are smart enough to manage a pokemon? Three people exactly?" Keahi snickered as Aqua recalled three teenagers from a particular town. "Perhaps... is this some tradition? Where a trainer is given that starter?"
Daphne nodded. "Yep, a choice between a fire type, a grass type or a water type. Now, Poliwag and Magby are very common compared to an actual starter but with what's happened... what can you do but take what you can get?" That was a valid point and Daphne went for her bag. "Me and my brother were borrowing this book from a library. About an expedition to somewhere in the region this phenomenon was discovered in. Where some people found very weird pokemon. We were trying to see if we can go to that place before all this started."
She pulled out a Scarlet red book with the image of a feathery crest lizard. The lady of the land lowered a finger. "We should consider this while Xion is finishing her mission. That note wasn't without a reason." Daphne agreed and lead out of the cave. "It's a funny story about how I got this stuff. A while ago-"
At the abandon fort.
Xion and her speedy misfits climbed to an upper ledge after seeing some tracts of something being around. The girl let the Nymble on her shoulder and had a second look at the black Voltorb that was trying to keep away. He noticed something flying from somewhere nearby. A round, pink cat like creature with two spinning leaves on the head, keeping it afloat. Xion saw yellow eyes and a spear tip. Even without the Rotom, the girl had the instinct to know that is a pokemon. She and the Voltorb called. "Hey! Over here!" The plant looked down and fluttered to a nearby shack before perching. They approached to hear the plant cheer. "Hoppip!" Xion bobbed her head. "Definitely a pokemon!"
The Hoppip gave a hello to the Voltorb. (Is this that aid you've talked about?) The Voltorb cringed and buzzed. (Yeah, but that has nothing to do with me.) The Nymble turned to the Voltorb as Xion showed a quick ball. "We need to make sure you're all accounted for before we check on our friends. Please don't dodge this." The Hoppip huhed as Xion tossed the ball, spooking the plant to where she jumped up and tried to fly off. The ball tapped her, brought her in and shook. Click!
The Voltorb phewed a whistle as the sound metal was reverting. It stopped for that moment and something sprinted out, a short, pink, toddler like creature with pink hair tied into a short knot and a metal rattler. She looked to the three, looked to a ball containing the Hoppip and the spear tip that was dropped. She stomped with a temper and waved her rattle to bark. "Tink!" (Hey that was my delivery buddy!)
She made a rush to the ball, ready to break it open, Xion eeked and intercepted, the toddler leaped for a swing and was parried by the Vector of the Heavens. The toddler back flipped, forgetting about something and her eyes gleamed to the orange. She giggled, enveloped her rattle with ice and lunged like one a hammer. Volty jumped in the way and let loose a thunder wave to paralyze the toddler. (Tinkatink no!)
The toddler stepped back, hurried to a bag near a barrel and pulled out a green berry, chomping on it to remove the paralysis. Xion picked up the Hoppip's ball and ordered. "Zap that tinker, stat!" Volty crackled a thunder shock as the Tinkatink rushed at him and delivered a rock smashing punch, sending him on a roll. She took another and channeled an ice power to her rattle, smashing it against the Voltorb and sending him flying for a firm knock out.
The Tinkatink was in a spin and hurried to slash a rattler with the keyblade. Xion flipped the toddler away and used the nest ball to bring out Wooper. "Come on, shoot her with that mud and recover if she does that again!" The Wooper huhed at the hot blooded creature and fired a glob of mud, the creature squeaked and lunged with the ice hammer. The Wooper stepped out of the way and Xion tossed a nest ball, the Tinkatink saw a ball, whined and with a swing of her rattler, shattered it. She turned to Xion, who readied another ball and smashed some rocks at the ball hand. The girl stepped away and ordered. "Wooper, that rattle!"
The mudfish huhed as the Tinkatink went for another rock, he skip toed as the toddler gave a whack and smacked the thing away. The Tinkatink shoved the Wooper out of the way and went to get it, Xion intercepted and grappled her, lifting her up and going for another ball.
SMACK!
Another ball was sent flying and Xion was in a struggle. "Hold still already so I can-" Whistle! "Woah, woah! What do you think your doing?" Xion and her crew stopped what they were doing and turned around to find a black haired man in a white kimono, having those distinct red eyes that were quite serious.
Xion nearly got smacked in the chin and struggled. "Trying to find a way to catch this rascal, Kit. What are you doing here?" The man shook his head and pointed his thumb to the sky. "I saw one of the lights in the sky and thought to check into that. Put that Tinkatink down, they go crazy when you try to take away their hammers."
Xion did so and asked. "How is that going to do anything?" Kit took something out and approached the Tinkatink, offering her a wheat grain rice ball for some time inspecting the rattler. Seeing it was in fine enough condition, looked around to find broken pokeballs and pieces of metal. "...That explains it." He gave the rattler back and approached with a black ball with bulbs on the head, distinct markings and a button that looked like a pull tab. "She's picky about her ball. Tinkatinks work hard to make those hammers and they work even more to improve it as they keep growing. Any old pokeball you find in a factory would be an insult to that craft."
He gave a toss that didn't go far, Xion caught it and felt a weight. Kit took a deep breath and crossed his hands. "I don't expect anyone here to know that. So pass this along for the next fight you get into, do I make myself clear?"
Xion understood and looked to the Tinkatink that is distracted by the spear tip, she crouched to get close behind and give a toss, tapping the ball at the back of the Tinkatink and seeing it bring her in like any ball. It fell to the ground, gave a shake and shot out fire works. Kit phewed, looked up to find a Solgaleo staring down at him and waved in good will. "Is that everyone you can find?" The Lion grunted and asked something in return, Kit smiled peacefully. "Just consider me a friend."
He focused back on the girl that let out Volty and gave a heal for him and the Wooper, Kit approached the orb that came through and noticed him. He jingled a buzz. "Torb?" Kit nodded proudly. "Yeah, they did exactly like we'd hoped they would." He went to get something as a surprise. "You and your mentor have done a lot of good for these creatures. But this is just one world."
Xion pointed to the sky, expecting more. "And any world that got hit by this is going to show us the way once it's time for us to reach farther. How bad is it getting?" Kit pulled out a few parchments of paper. "Nothing drastic has happened right now from where I've been hiding. But it this is just the calm before the storm, sooner or later you will run out of poke balls that kid's going to provide. That was why my boss had some of us search the lands and provide some material."
Xion was given the paper and found them to be blue prints for pokeballs much like the one Tinkatink is in. She realized. "Hold on, is that Kauser guy behind some of these mysteries?" Kit put his hands to his hips. "You can say I'm not the only one he's hired for the job. They could be any pokemon those kids would be surprised by." Volty buzzed in a surprise, blowing the minds of the girl and Nymble. Kit turned to take his leave. "So now, Volty and the others are going to trust you to help them with the rest. Me and Shadey will keep things under control on our end until one of you comes over." He waved. "Good luck!"
The name had Xion remember. "Wait! Shadey hatched already?" She followed him, held him by the hand and pleaded. "How's he doing? Are you treating him right? Is he still thinking about us?" Kit hid a smile and turned around with a frown. "He hatched shortly after I found a place we could hide and he's getting use to things. I'm just giving him some guide lines and let him work out his mischief. I'd say he misses you, but once you find him again, it's going to be like you never parted ways."
Xion smiled wide as Kit dismissed that, enlightened enough to pass along some wisdom. "The distance and duty is meaningless when it's just going to bring you all back together again. Even parting is another part of life." He used that chance of happiness to take off. "You didn't have an issue with that fighter until she started breaking those balls, but you found out she was making one of those and thought to use it against her." That was believable. "Not much of that is off." Kit took off out of site and Xion perked to her trio of friends. "We have a lot of work ahead of us, so let's tell Madam Aqua the good news." Volty jingled in joy as Wooper sat dimly, the Nymble felt a rumble in her stomach and is looking forward to some celebration.
At the beach of the Isle
Kairi finished setting up a rectangular, yard wide arena with the use of a stick. A group of pokemon were let out of their balls, to witness a battle of wit. Bruxish was chewing upon berries and fruit that were chilled frozen by Spheal, Wailmer was in the water with a Spearow playing with the spout, Tauros was grazing upon a salad, the Poipole was playing around with Pilikia and the others were curious about a battle to come. Oranguru sat on one end of the arena with a zen while Sora and Riku were at the other. The spikey haired boy stretched to warm himself up while the silver haired boy kept looking upon the blank staring Slowpoke. He thought about what Leon was promising. "What was that kid talking about?" Sora perked himself for a match and watched Leon instruct his Rotom Phone. "He knows something that will help Slowpoke out." He whined out. "How can you not want to be friends with these guys?"
Riku didn't wish to admit to that and directed his eyes to the Slowpoke. "Hello, Slowpoke has an empty head in there! He doesn't even got a clue what he's doing most of the time, he just does them." Leon over head that. "All of them are like that, but a cousin of theirs has spent their whole lives with this diet of spices that can wake up their potential. Taking things easy and not worrying about the stresses of life can help you see things that others cannot." He had the Rotom approach the boys, volunteering to be their guide for a battle. "Much like how the Gurus have grown by being self sufficient and not needing a trainer for much guidance. Only the most experienced of trainers can hope to handle them for that reason."
Riku imagined why. "They're called Sages for a reason. He's smart to not make trouble if his partner knows what he's doing, but if that partner doesn't make the best decisions, he definitely will." Leon appreciated a good learner. "Oranguru's are at their best when fighting with a partner. So despite how it looks, he's holding back a little." He raised a finger to warn them. "But he has the strength of an evolved pokemon. Underestimating that is a sure way to lose, as Sora figured out when Komala fought back hard." He put his hands behind his back. "So, have you chosen the pokemon for this match?"
The Rowlet puffed his chest as the phone showed the moves that he has, with a particular option in the fifth. "Rowlet needs to learn this move he can access to. Should Rowlet learn the move, Shadow Sneak?" Sora was astonished by the ghostly purple symbol as the rotom showed a description. "The user extends his shadow and strikes the opponent before they can act." Riku noticed the move and blurted. "How's he able to do that?" Leon closed his eyes, took a deep breath and looked to a Decidueye that was keeping watch and having a cheerful conversation with Butterfree. "It's likely that the Rowlet is tapping into his latent power that he'll fully understand when he becomes a Decidueye. Trading away his flying type for the power of ghosts." He hid his eyes to the shadows of his hair, half squinted them and wiggled his lips to a strange, unnerving smile. "You ought to learn about the eighteen types once we're done. Because there are many ghosts that will love to get a good scare outta you."
The boys looked to each other in confusion, but have an idea what kind of power ghosts are akin to. Sora asked. "Rowlet, try learning that move, we'll deal with the earful later." The Rowlet nodded and turned his head like a clock, the Rotom asked. "Which move should Rowlet forget in place of this?" Sora blinked at the moves, Leafage, growl, confuse ray and peck. "What does growling do?" Leon lightened up from his ghastly impersonation. "Lowers the attack of your opponent. It's not a bad move, but it's not going to help you when you fight a special attacker." Sora sighed. "Rowlet, forget about growl, we're not going to need that."
Rotom flew over to Riku's only real option and showed the options he has. Water gun, confusion, disable and a move that made him feel guilty about earlier, yawn. He pressed at disable and read. "The user disables one of the opponents moves in the time it takes for it to use four!"
He checked Yawn. "The user yawns at the opponent and makes them drowsy enough to fall asleep in the next turn." He looked to the Slowpoke in regret and had the Rotom analyze the Oranguru, only giving away the type of psychic and normal. Which has an immunity to ghost type moves. He thought of something and had the phone analyze the Comfey around Sora's neck. Whistling to the variety. "Hey Sora, before you sent that Rowlet against a fight he might lose to, read this. Comfey's ability makes healing moves a priority, she's pretty fast, can take a special attack and knows draining kiss, helping hand and... after you?"
Sora had the chance to read about the moves beyond wrap. Helping hand empowers a partner's damage while after you allows the partner to go at the users speed. Something of consideration since Slowpoke is quite slow. Leon pressed his lips together as the boys quickly made a decision. Sora asked the confident Rowlet. "Hey, Rowlet, maybe it's a better idea if you sit this one out. Oranguru's up to something and we need to be careful."
The Owl huhed as the boy used a finger to coax the Comfey into letting go, Rowlet deflated as the boy asked. "You'll wait until there's a que, okay?" The Rowlet huffed and jumped off like a poor sort, Riku sighed. "You'll get your chance." He and Sora picked their options and approached the arena as Leon walked to the Princess and her Seafaring buddies, the girl cheered for her friends. "Give it your all guys! You can beat the Sensei!" The Oranguru smirked and stood up, displaying his impressive size. Sora and Riku stood firm. "Comfey!" "Slowpoke!" "Let's do this!"
Slowpoke waddled to battle as the Comfey puffed her cheeks and rolled in with confidence. Sora took advantage of the speed. "Wrap around the Guru and see what he does!" The Comfey flew at the Oranguru and wrapped around the legs, keeping him from moving around while constricting. The Guru calmed his mind and glowed, Riku flinched. "Slowpoke, give him a water gun and wait for Sora to call that move!"
The Slowpoke squirt a water gun that did insignificant damage. Sora clapped. "Comfey, have Slowpoke attack after you!" The Comfey glowed and offered Slowpoke the kind offer. Riku ordered. "Disable!" The Slowpoke let sharp shine that caused the Guru to halt his charge.
Sora clapped at the chance. "Try it again and Slowpoke will set up!" The Comfey gave the offer and Riku called for. "Make that Guru yawn!" The Slowpoke gave off a yawn that made the Guru drowsy, he muttered to the Comfey. (You'll need a lot more than that to pass this test!) The posey picker was irritated from the taunt and Sora called. "Now help Slowpoke out with his next attack." The Comfey groaned and Leon called to the boy. "She can't use support moves right now, she's under a taunt!" Sora huhed and changed the order. "Then give the Guru a draining kiss!"
The Comfey gave a light kiss to heal herself as the Guru gave a glow and let loose a pulse of stored power upon the fairy, hurting quite a bit. The Slowpoke fired a water gun and the Guru fell asleep. The Guru was struggling to wake up and the boys had the duo give a repeat. At the second barrage, the Oranguru woke up and unleashed a pulse of that stored power, he took the water gun and Riku changed his plan. "Slowpoke, yawn him!"
The Oranguru pulled himself free from the wrap and taunted the Slowpoke. (I won't fall for the same trick twice!) The Comfey calmed down from her taunt and applied one more kiss, she saw the Guru was running out of breath and turned. (Hey, I think he's at the end of it, how are we wanting to do this?) Sora felt a spark and request. "One more ought to do it!"
The Comfey nodded and gave a quick kiss that sent the Oranguru falling to his knees. Sora turned to Riku. "You've stopped him from charging up, go catch him!" The older boy brought out a timer ball and tossed it at the Guru, tapping and unleashing the veil of a clock before dragging him in and landing on the sand. Shake...shake...shake... click!
Kairi, Leon and Azu clapped in applause as Comfey flew to Sora and was given a fist bump, she returned the favor by wrapping around his neck and giving him a nuzzle to the cheek. Riku looked to the Slowpoke in pride and picked up the ball. "Well, now's a good time to admit it. I've been wrong about you, you're not bad at all." The dopey pokemon tilt his head as the boy let out the Guru, who was more than pleased and clapped heartily. "Gur!" (Great work, young ones!)
Leon took out a button like device and attached it to cable, he called to the Rotom Phone as a way to plug it in and criticize. "Once I saw the Guru use calm mind and stored power, I was about to get a bit nervous. Some moves can help a pokemon power themselves up and enhanced their abilities, two known moves take advantage of that and do growing damage depending on how much is boosted. It was good you guys stopped that once you saw what he was doing, or that stored power would have ended the fight a lot sooner."
Riku admitted. "We see people do things like that often. It's the biggest tell for when they're about to use something big. Thanks for the tip earlier." Leon placed the device on the sand and showed a lens. "When you fight something that's tougher than you, the best thing you can do is turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Grant it, the Guru improvised too." He coughed. "Now, a promise is a promise. As of right now, it's going to take a while before Slowpoke gets stronger moves, at least without the aid of a Technical Machine. It would normally take even longer for Slowpoke to gain the experience he needs to evolve" The Rotom showed a Slowpoke standing upward, showing light tan, stripped belly, that same dim witted smile and a giant shellfish eating it's tail. "into a Slowbro. Who, while slow, has a bit of an edge from the Shellder on his tail, to fight ahead of all those Slowpokes. However, there is another evolution that could be obtained a a lot sooner. One just as powerful if rarer because the material required to get. I do have a Kings Rock in my bag, but Slowpoke has one already."
The boys gasped and Sora asked. "A Kings Rock?! If you're saying that's rare, then it's one of a kind around here." Leon agreed with the statement. "And there would be another problem, had this means not been invented. There are trainers who might decide to trade pokemon with one another, for various reasons and the energies from the Link Cable can trigger a chain reaction in certain pokemon. Triggering an evolution or if the pokemon needs an item, make it spark the reaction. So a trading partner is often sought after, to trade a pokemon you want to evolve under the promise that they'll give it back to you for a win win." Sora folded his arms to the catch. "Normally, but not everyone does that and they sometimes run off with the pokemon you've raised?" Leon blew out in frustration. "It's not common, but it does happen and there is little that can be done about it." He was getting angry at the knowledge. "There's nothing worse than pretending to be someones friend, just to steal one of their friends." He looked to Sora, who was sharing that exact kind of feeling, the youngster focused on the more appeasing news. "Thankfully, a relative of mine helped invent this. An alternative to trading, by exposing the energies of a link cable, Rotom should boost the it and the device will shoot out the energy to trigger evolution."
Kairi went close to check on the picture of the Slowbro and the Shellder on the tail. "Is there anything else we need? Because it's hard to think that a Shellder can turn into that!" The youngster looked over to a Shellder that was crawling close. "There is, a willing Shellder who wants to grow with Slowpoke. Often, when a Slowpoke is ready to evolve, a Shellder is always around when the instincts trigger. They form into a symbiotic pairing, where Slowpoke gets the stimulus and strength from the Shellder's toxins, while Shellder has access to free food. Either by the regenerating tail or from what ever Slowbro's eating. This evolution is like that, but the Shellder goes somewhere else and has something else in it's diet to make up for the position. The Slowpoke and the Shellder become one pokemon, regardless."
Sora was silent in his amazement as Kairi imagined. "What is two, become one and they are better off for it." Leon wasn't aware of where that it was a sudden urge. "It's one of the options a Shellder has as well. Whether it bites into the Slowpokes cousins or finds a water stone to become Cloyster. It's one of the mysteries of the Pokemon that you got to see with your own eyes."
The Cradily bobbed his head and looked to a Shellder that was already crawling to the Slowpoke. (What do you think?) Shellder barked. "Shell! Shell!" (Slowpoke! Crown!) Azu rubbed her hands together at a wonder. (This is going to get good.)
Kairi felt another was watching and looked to Sora, who was staring into space with a certain someone. Leon announced as the Slowpoke crawled to the device's lens. "If we're all in agreement. Rotom, you may begin." The Rotom shined the words. "Activating Link Cable!" The screen showed two orbs of energy traveling to one another in a tube. Then back together again. The device shined a blue light that mixed in with green, Shellder salivated and was hopping on instinctual behavior. The glow went on for half a minute, until both the Rotom and the energy dimmed. Slowpoke lowered his tail and acted like nothing in particular happen. "Slow?"
Leap! Nom!
At the sudden, the Shellder leaped to the crown and bit upon it, at that moment the two glowed in energy. Slowpoke grew bigger and stood upright, the Shellder changed into a spiral shell with a set of spikes at the tail end and a set of horns on it's side. Something of a turban. A spiral ruff appeared around the neck, draping like royalty. Slowpoke lowered his fore legs into arms and the tail shrank to be less of a drag. PEW!
The glow halted and revealed a dark pink Slowpoke with a white and blue stripped tuft. On his head is a shellfish crown with a pink gem on the monde. The humans and Rowlet woahed and Sora had a look at the back of the crown, finding the eyes of the Shellder focused on biting down and looking up at the boy. Closing his eyes to give a smile. Slowpoke turned to Sora and waved to say something in a relaxed tone. "Slowking."
Riku was taken aback, looked to Leon, then back to the Slowking that went to his fellow pokemon to give a hello. Leon saw that and went close, to whisper. "Through this, the two became Slowking. Because the Shellders toxins are going straight into the Slowpokes head, it removes some of the slow inhibitors in the Slowpokes brain and makes him more active in the mind." Slowking approached Oranguru and had something of a talk. Slowking asked something that the Guru was more than eager to answer, Riku looked away with shame. "So he can show that he is a lot smarter than he looks. Why he has the powers of the mind, even when he didn't got a care?"
Leon nodded. "Yep. A slowpoke is so deep in thought that it isn't aware of the world around it. Sometimes even forgetting as to why it was thinking about something in the first place. So when the Shellder bites the tail, it gets a bit of a guide out of those thoughts and uses it's power to help a Slowpoke out. It has the same power level as a Slowking for a reason. But, I think someone here was showing Slowpoke the way before we knew that a Shellder was around." Riku blushed at the honor. "So... now what?"
Kairi could tell by the Slowking listening to the Guru that this was only a beginning and giggled. "Just cause he's smarter, doesn't mean there isn't room for him to grow. He's just has the power to learn." Leon agreed with that. "A Slowking can still forget the ideas he comes up with. It will take a while before this one can call himself the Sage of the Sea." Rowlet whistled at the possibility and Sora was imagining that if Riku had doubts before, then they're not the same anymore. "Let's see what Slowking has to say about this first."
At the other end, the Guru pressed his fingers under his chin. (That is all I know of from the islands. I think your friend has more in store for you as well.) The Slowking agreed with that as the Poipole and Spearow flew to him and looked around the impressive form. The Slowking nodded to himself and approached Riku in earnest.
The boy was facing a weight and scratched his arm, turning around with remorse. " If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have made a lot of progress by now." He took a deep breath. "I'm sorry for being hard on you earlier. When things go wrong around here, you have to be quick about fixing the problem or you're going to get hurt if you don't run fast enough. We spent a long time protecting the worlds and the people that live in them, so we don't have to see them get hurt."
The Slowking blushed and put a hand on the arm, nodded that all is well. (It's okay, I understand why that is a very good reason.) Riku took a deep breath and the King stepped back to ask while looking to where the mainland is. (When are we going to get off the island?)
Riku felt somber. "As soon as we can, we got to find more of the damages by the end of the day." He took a step back and gave a sharp whistle. "Alright everyone, it's time we start packing up. Everyone needs to be in their balls and we need to be over at Traverse by lunch." So began a mass call back, with Leon capturing Spheal and Wailmer in dive balls, he put them away for safe keeping and saw Kairi approach with Crinoid, the Princess was more than pleased. "I've been wanting to ask, how were you able to have that Rotom Phone do so much?"
Leon had time and showed it off. "Well, since a Rotom is possessing the phone, that helps in speeding up the work out load when you go off adventuring." He checked out the strange phone Kairi has. "As long as you make sure Rotom doesn't try anything funny." Kairi thought to show the features on hers. "The Gummi Phone's pretty recent. We use it to keep in touch with the others and listen to some tracks when we get bored during the months of that war." Leon ahad. "Sound's like they're pretty handy. Give it enough time and it will go beyond what you thought was possible." He snickered and had Rotom send something.
Blip!
Kairi felt her phone glowing and had a text. One composing of dots, with a translation. "You are good friends." Kairi gasped. "Can it really translate this?" Leon lifted his head smugly. "My Mommy wanted to understand braille just in case." Kairi checked the time and remembered something discovered a while ago. "Just in case? When me and the Seafarers first met, we swam into some under water cave and found some writing like that. It's kind of been in my mind since."
Leon gasped. "Braille?! In a cave?" The Princess nodded and raised fists. "We made some good time, think we should check that out and see what's there?" Leon clapped to another adventure. "Discoveries aren't made by staying on the road. You might make a new one." Sora and Riku caught ear of that, the team leader asked out loud. "We could check it out and kill the rest of the morning before we have to hurry it up." Sora and Kairi gave a yes at the agreement of a possible treasure hunt.
