At a town basked in twilight, a teenage boy with medium length blonde hair, in a messy bangs, was waiting by a Bistro. He had a dark blue, sleeveless jacket, a purple short sleeve shirt, black pants and a gauntlet on his left hand to compliment the sock covering his right arm, which has a purple glove. The right arm had hints of machine and his brown eyes were looking to a pouch of munny that he was more than happy to get rid of.
Click!
A small rat stepped out to check up on the boy and had a menu to show. The boy leaned and picked it up. "Don't worry, those two will be here soon." He checked a particular item. "That Oeufs en Cocotte is going to make them feel nice and welcome." He smirked proudly. "I'll pay the blood munny once I chat up with them." The rodent understood, gave a thumbs up and hurried back in. As the boy gave a playful bounce, he heard someone advising someone. "We'll worry about training as soon as we find Ken and catch up with what's happened."
Ken turned around to find a duo of young men. One is a blonde, spikey haired, blue eyed boy that is a few years older than him, in a vest that's white on the right and black on the left. Complimenting a white and grey stripped shirt along with white pants and grey boots that went with a shoulder pad on his right. He was encouraging a blue eyed slightly tan man with brown, spikey, wild hair, in a black shirt that had a x cross black strap. From the ways down was a light brown, dress like pantaloons and on the right shoulder was a similar feeling armor pad. The man wasn't too keen on easing up. "We're stuck in these places until the dark forces start something. They're not going to let us take it is easy."
Ken took offense, put his wrists to his hips and faced forward. "Are you saying you didn't unwind in the three days you were over at the theme park?" The man turned to see a junior having a point, he didn't wish to eat his words. Ken took the silence as precisely that and relaxed to the other. "Welcome back, Ven. Did you and Miss have fun?"
Ven perked like a typical kid, not knowing where to begin. "There was so much stuff in there that we got lost on the first day. What were you doing during that time?" Ken showed his pouch of money. "I thought to put the last of this blood munny I had from the Colosseum to some good use before I goof around. Some of the guys were talking about what to do at the end of the summer and Sentor's been really good at helping fix the Bastion. Since my Mom said I should leave that worry to the grown ups, I've been trying to plan something dumb." He focused on something most important. "Buuut, Me and Sis finished showing Xion the training grounds and what to expect once she puts everything together. She and Miss should be introducing each other by now." He gave a warriors salute, impressing the oldest with something not expected. "You've been keeping up with the others?"
Ken wasn't going to give more of the details until he heard the words, I had fun during my vacation. "There wasn't anyone making trouble." He tensed to something crazed. "Now, Terra, if you're wanting a play fight, I think there's a spot where we can have some real fun. After we handle-" Terra shook his head and waved a hand in refusal. "Let's not do it in this town." He breathed out in uncertainty to the craze. "We don't want to turn it into a giant roller coaster."
Ken understood that as a confession to having fun and eased up his hostility. "True, we don't. We really don't know when someone's going to start their crud. Forgetting that is a good way to get hit where you're not looking." That is agreed upon and Terra reported. "That's why Aqua's checking up on Xion's progress. Once we catch up here, we're going to pick Riku and the others up and head to the Kings Castle to see if we can't find any leads." Ken pressed his hands together obediently. "Miss is the teacher, so Xion ought to be fine."
He hurried to the door. "The Chef found a really good dish that's right on the budget. Nothing better to wake us up than a well served egg." That did sound appetizing, Ven saw something in a reflection and turned around to find strange, funnel like lights in the sky. A whole lot of them. The two wondered what is going on and looked up to see the rifts, the older boy was having a ill feeling in his stomach. "That's doesn't look normal."
Ken nodded in silence while Terra was about to draw a weapon, as quick as they appeared, they closed up. Blip! The three had a spam text from Aqua and read it fast. "We have an emergency that just broke out. If you saw the light in the sky, be on the look out for anything that's off." Ken groaned and let the door go as Ven asked. "Anything that's off?" Blip. A picture was sent, showing a particularly young girl. "If you find a boy that looks like her, report back immediately!" Ken asked outloud. "She was in a hurry to text that?"
Ven nodded an answer. "Definitely. Terra, go search the struggle pit for anything, Ken you check the School zone." The boy saluted. "Ten four, commander!" With that, Ven took off to the outskirts of the town, leaving Terra to look on in confusion and head to the play area. Left be, Ken hurried to the bistro and barged into the kitchen with his bag of munny. "Change of plans, Chef! I'll leave the munny here while you take your time making that, we got an emergency." The rodent preparing something turned around to see urgency and gave him a thumbs up.
Out in the wilderness
"Hey, are you okay? Come on wake up!" The voice of a girl gave a nudge, invoking a feeling with in the state of a regaining consciousness. A deep voice wondered as a vision blurred and blink. "Erk, where am I? What's-" His vision formed to a view of a twilight sky and a forest, laying on his back as he was nudged again by a bipedal, brown bear cub with a light tan muzzle, cartoonish small dark eyes a small black nose and a light yellow crescent moon mark on the forehead. She was at the right and the confused soul turned to see she was holding a wicker basket of something. The bear was quite worried when she noticed the soul awakened. "You're finally awake. Thank goodness."
The soul sat up in confusion and in a complete blank. "Why wouldn't I wake up?" He was surprised by a squeaky voice as the bear pointed at the sky. "The big holes finally came and we got work to do, Oshawott."
HUH?!
The Oshawott looked up to find a light funnel in the sky that, he leaped in a panic and backed away. "Woah, woah, woah! How did I fall out of-" He tripped backwards and landed in a pond, he panicked and thrashed in the water, the bear dropped her basket and jumped in the pond with him, she grabbed his hands and kicked a float. He was faced upwards as she chanted. "Kick, kick, kick!"
Oshawott kicked and regained balance, it felt akin to flight than a swim. The bear let go and backed away, letting the strange one swim on his own. She tried remembering something and crawled out. "Yikes, it looked like you forgot how to be an Oshawott there. Are you sure you're okay?" The Oshawott swam to the edge and admitted. "I am now. I don't know how I got there in the first place and everything is... a blur."
He crawled out and turned to see his reflection in the water. A dark eyed, white head otter with short blue ears, an orange nose, white arms, blue fur across his body and a white scallops shell on his belly. He looked down to see flipper like feet and turned around to see a flat tail. He turned shyly. "So what's your name? And what did you mean by finally?"
The bear looked around and tried to retrace her steps. "Just call me Teddiursa," she whispered as her partner got close. "I'm on a mission to help the key holders make things right for us." Oshawott went blank and the bear admitted. "I don't get it either. But I planted about every special apricorn I can and checked to see them sprout." She clapped to remember her instructions. "When the light shines brighter than the sky above, find the hearts most noble and help them guide the way. That's what Great Sinnoh said to do." Oshawott tilted his head and squinted his eyes. "And you followed that without thinking about it?"
Teddiursa crossed her arms and puffed her cheeks at the daring question. "The things Great Sinnoh says make sense once you find it." She felt a grumble in her stomach and let go of the irritation. "And the town over's got to have something tasty waiting." The thought of food caused Oshawott to gasp and burst into a laugh. "Ha, ha, ha!" He hurried ahead with confidence. "So, we know the way to get there?" Teddiursa admitted. "I... don't." She pointed at what she assumed is east by where the sun was heading. "It's somewhere that away. I think if we spot something, we'll know it's close by." Oshawott sighed. "Well, that's as close as we'll get."
The two set off in the forest, finding a duo of brown, long eared, canine like creatures playing with one another. One was being rough while the other was dancing in elegance. On the travelers way, they found something by a rock at a tree. A red, bipedal bug with a yellow collar and a pattern on it's belly that has strings and a pink puff ball with cat like ears and blue eyes. The bug used his antenna to start a melody while the buff ball brought out a microphone. Teddiursa cringed. "Ohhhh no, no, no, no!"
She grabbed Oshawott's hand and sprinted as fast as possible. Nearly tripping into a small clearing and getting out of hearing range, they found a spotted a green leafy sprite with blue and red flowers for hands, making herself at home with the flowers and a walking plant with a green olive on it's head snoring away. Burrowing under a tree was a grey cicada that found an ideal shelter. Oshawott was impressed by the variety. "Did these guys fall from the hole too?" Teddiursa guessed. "I think so, they weren't here a minute ago and it looks like they're making home already." She was lost in her smell and raised her nose up. "Hmm... is that." She followed her nose to a straight path and found a tree with something dangling by a branch. A bee hive with a buzz, the Teddiursa cheered. "Honey!" She readied to climb as Oshawott stood there with a raised brow. "What are you trying to do?" Teddiursa sank her claws into the bark. "Getting us a sugar boost along the way." Surprisingly, she was a fast climber, she got close to the hive and met a bee that buzzed to her. She waved hello to the bees and climbed to the branch, then came five of them. She wiggled close to the hive and reached.
The bees, use sting!
POKE! Teddiursa gave off a "ow!" then more of them came around to protect their hive, causing Teddiursa to loose her grip and fall back to the ground. It was a great thud and Teddiursa had spirals at her eyes. She rolled on her rear and was getting swarmed by the bees that were wanting to teach her a lesson. "Ow! Ow! Ow!" She swipped her claws at the swarm and Oshawott tapped his feet in a panic, an inner grown voice asked. "What I do, what I do!"
He gasped and looked to his scallop shell, he pulled it from his belly and swiped a gust of wind to cut through the swarm. Scattering them away from the Teddiursa that was having swellings. Teddiursa hurried to the Oshawott and pleaded. "Hurry, use water gun or something to soak these away!"
Oshawott looked to his belly button and found nothing. BZZZ! He heard the sound of bees that were coming after him, he cringed, felt a sloshing in his throat and spat a water gun that sent the bees falling to the ground. He phewed. "That was close!" He thought of something and looked up to the hive. "Hey, I think I know how we can get that hive without climbing up there."
Teddiursa blinked and gasped, she raised her paws in a cheer. "And mix it with that water to make a drink!" She looked around and found long leaves to make into cups, it didn't take long. "Hit that hive and we'll have the elixer of a boost!"
Oshawott smiled to a marvelous idea, he aimed a long spit and knocked the hive off the branch, sending it falling to the earth and cracking open. BZZZ! Out of the hive was a bee a little larger than the rest, facing the two that destroyed her work, she gave a buzz and a cloud of blackness fly out of and chase after the trouble makers. Oshawott fired a water gun while Teddiursa clawed fast, doing little as the sheer numbers pounced and stung. The two made a run for it, finding a cloud of smoke, Teddiursa gasped. "Smoke! Where there's that, there's fire!" Oshawott was shaking off a bee and cried out. "How's that going to help?"
Teddiursa hurried her little feet. "Bugs hate fire! Come on, we can lose em!" She and Oshawott jumped over the smoke cloud, causing the bees to get off and lose interest. They followed the smoke to a bonfire in a clearing, smelling sweet and rich. The two surprised a duo of small, knight like humanoids. Looking to be in fiery red knight helmets, a red cloth shirt and having black arms and legs. Who were staring at comically swelling lumps, Oshawott took a breath and was feeling sore. "That was way too close."
Teddiursa agreed as a fiery child yelled out in hostility. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" The two turned to a duo, the fire child on the right was bracing for a fight while the one on the left was smelling the fire place of roasting fruits. An luxurious aroma, the distracted child rubbed his hands together. "Yum, yum, yum! I think they're about ready." The Teddiursa's stomach spoke out loud and she was drawn in to the food while Oshawott and the hostile child crossed eyes. The bear spoke out. "That's a whole lot of food!" The carefree child agreed with that. "Yeah, we need to carb up on some fats before we get to training out here!" He asked out of the blue. "You want to dig in too? We hauled it over here!"
His brother jumped in protest. "Charcadet, we don't know these pokemon! Don't invite them without asking who they are!" Oshawott wanted to shake hands and get the hostility over with. "Name's Oshawott, apparently. Me and Teddiursa got lost because we tried to get some honey for the road."
The child ate his words and crossed his arms in defeat. "...Fine, I'm Charcadet as well." He turned to his companion. "Me and my brother look alike." He stepped aside to let the pokemon have a share, Charcadet B rubbed his hands anxiously. "What's brought you to the woods anywhos?" Teddiursa answered as she was ignoring the stinging. "I was on a mission once I saw the holes and Oshawott got flashed badly to where he forgot how to be one." Oshawott blushed in embarrassment. "Hey, I gotten the hang of it already!"
Charcadet A imagined so. "Keep practicing or you'll forget that all over again. Getting out of those wilds is a tough one for the likes of us." He signaled that Oshawott cools down the berries, one spray of a water gun doused the flames and left the berries seeping in appetizing juice. Oshawott picked a peach and asked. "We've been trying to find this town that's close by. Have you spotted it yet?" Charcadet B helped himself to cherries and looked down a hill. "It's just down the road! We're going to head there as soon as we fight what ever is at the big house!"
He inhaled as Teddiursa peeled a warm orange and took a bite. Gulp! "I knew we would find that trial!" Charcadet A smiled in good will and made claim to an apple that was covered with black berry juice. He and Oshawott took a bite, counting down before something interrupts their breakfast. In a sudden, a spikey haired boy showed up from the town and yelped at something. The more observant looked up a tree to find a white hairy moth larva with red horns. Climbing down a tree and tilting it's face up to show blue eyes.
The boy stepped back in caution as Charcadet A bit into the apple and give off a juicy crunch. The boy was about to draw something when he had a second look and found a bunch of creatures having a feast of fruit, Oshawott bit off the bitter skin and tasted the warm sweet. Surprising him to the delight. The boy relaxed. "That's definitely off."
Teddiursa spat out seeds and went for kiwis before turning to the voice and noticing the human. She gasped and jumped up with the fruit in hand. "There's one of the humans!" She peeled the hairy fruit fast and stuffed it in her gob as Charcadet B had an avocado to munch on, he checked out the human and ignited fast. "He looks fast and strong!" He sparked in fire and charged. "Hey, look out for this!"
He sprinted and tossed an ember that the boy dodged in confusion, he gave a third look to find the Charcadet posing for a fight. Charcadet A wasn't amused and went to grab his brother by the back. "Hey, don't open like that, he's going to attack back now." That was something the brother was hoping for. "That's going to make the fight an even greater challenge now!" They hoped for a battle as Oshawott casually approached, digging the peach pit out with his teeth and flinging it aside. The boy was seeing a bunch of small creatures together and relaxed. "There's a whole lot of you here." He realized something and gestured. "I'll be right back."
He hurried up the hill and Charcadet B jumped in astonishment. "Hey!" Teddiursa cringed and gave a sprint. "He's getting away, follow him!" She and Charcadet B hurried off, leaving the other two to realize their companions don't have common sense. Oshawott followed with a shout. "That's only going to scare him of!" That much, Charcadet A would have agreed with, if he had time. He readied to follow and heard rustling, he turned around to see a chubby, yellow snake with small white wings, eyes that were closed by blue eye lids and a drill for a tail. He smelled food and hissed a squeak. "Are you going to leave this behind?"
The Charcadet was greatly annoyed. "Apparently!" He took a step up the hill. "You better be gone by the time we get back." He and his campers caught up with a boy that was before mansion with an open gate and a closed door. To the groups surprise, there was a blocky duck with blue triangular feet, a long blue tail, a short blue beak attacked to a pink head, a pink body with a blue chest. Floating back and forth as it beeped. "Entry, entry, entry. Find entry." It sensed arrivals and turned. "Detection!" It approached and showed white, hexagonal eyes with black dots. Focusing on the boy and requesting. "Subjects detected. Identifying." The boy had no idea what was being said. "Porygon? What are you?" The duck repeated. "Unknown subject identified unit. Repeating name. Porygon." It faced the door frantically. "Digital components detected, attempting entry through push and handle." It tapped the handle with his beak, not really causing much of a movement. "Unable to turn handle and gain entry."
Oshawott shook his head and looked to the confused boy before approaching. "I don't think he's getting what you're saying." The teenager turned fast and is surprised by all the critters that followed him. He smacked himself in the face and laughed in defeat while looking upward in thought as Porygon hovered to the arrivals. "You have adjustable digits. Requesting aid. Password: Please."
Oshawott was willing to lend a hand. "Give me a boost and I'll get that open." Porygon hovered down, let Oshawott on it's back and went to the door, the otter gave a firm press on the door and moved it down, causing a click before the two pulled the entry open. Oshawott smiled in pride as the teenager felt like a dimwit. "So that's what you're asking. Are you guys friends?"
Oshawott admitted. "Never met him before!" Teddiursa waddled to the two and jumped a cheer. "We're friends now!" Charcadet A hid his frustrated glare. "We just met a minute ago, we're not friends yet." He advised his brother. "Come on, this Porygon's not going to be much of a cha-" He saw his brother was with Teddiursa, taking an avacado seed for later. "We're snack buddies!" The boy gave up on the sheer stupidity. "Alright, we need to check out what's in the mansion before we head back. I've heard that a lot of creepy things happen here." He lead in. "Just stay with me until I can bring you to the others."
On stepping in, he and the band felt something vile and foreboding, pounding into their skulls. Ven gave a look around and faced up, finding an upside down totem crawling from a black goopy ceiling, pulsating tendrils of darkness and glowing yellow eyes. The totem had a demonic skull of curled curved horns. The boy immediately conjured a blade resembling a black wing as Porygon beeped. "Anomaly!" It flipped it's flippers and spun his tail. "Anomaly spreading unknown substance!" It turned to Ven with an urgent request. "Deletion, requested?"
The boy had a guess that it was to do something about corrupting tremor and saw the skull opened it's mouth and fire tendrils at the Porygon. Zapping a dark bolt that made the Porygon screech. The boy glowed in light and flew at the totem, smashing the hilt on the skull and unleashing a windy combo that smashed it to bits, the tendrils disappeared and Porygon fell to the ground. It spun it's non existent neck like a top as the others saw the darkness coagulate into a drop. The door slammed behind them and a feminine voice laughed. "So the hero of Light has arrived? No matter!"
The drop splashed upon the ground and caused dark spikes to erupt from the goop. Teddiursa and Oshawott fumbled around in an attempt to avoid getting impaled as the Charcadets charged at a figure rising from the goop. Porygon was coming through as the band saw a hunched back, humanoid creature of shadows with four sharp claws, hairs of tentacles and sharp yellow eyes form.
It spilled out horned, tentacled shadows that squirmed in eldritch aura. The Charcadets halted and took a step back in terror as the boy gritted his teeth and kept guard of the small ones. "This isn't good." He tried to keep calm as Porygon regained it's hover and floated by him, certain to what needs to be done. "Hostiles detected. Activating-" and glowed. "Conversion!"
Blip!
The colors transformed, what was blue is white and what was pink is yellow. The shadows rushed in a split and the more tense Charcadet tackled the left flank with a flame charge, "hi ya!" while the more childish leaped over the right and spun upside down. "Fire spin!" The fire show did something to slow the monsters down and the fire spin trapped a small cluster with in. The boy looked to the Porygon that is more focused on the main threat, the Corrupter looming in a presence. The Porygon crackled a power that made hairs stand and fired a bolt, shocking the heartless and giving the boy that opening. Charcadet A was getting surrounded by shadows that closed in, Oshawott sprinted for his buddy and unleashed a fast air slash that sent the flank in a spin. He followed with a water gun that caused a particular foe to melt. Charcadet A gave a glance to his fighting partner. "Hope you can pick up the pace, we're in for it!" Oshawott agreed and kept to his back. "Really in for it!"
Charcadet B was pounced for his wild stunt and pinned to the ground by two, Teddiursa charged with her claws ready. "Get off of my Snack Buddy!" She gave the right heartless a fury swipe frenzy and gave the Charcadet the chance to toss a clump of mud at the other, tilting it back and giving himself time to jump away. He fired a point blank ember to finish it off and turned to his brother, who was doing melee. "Catch!" He fired an ember that his brother made a roll towards, causing his flame to flash brightly. He fired an ember back to his brother in style. "The flash of flames with burn this taint away, brother!"
In the center, the boy slashed at the stunned Corrupter three times and watched it sink into the shadows to erupt a spike cluster. The boy back flipped mid air and flowed to a support piece while Porygon flew closed and detected movement at the 4 o'clock. The Corrupter making a lunge at the busy Teddiursa and the Charcadet. Porygon channeled frost and fired an ice beam to slow the foe down, the boy enveloped himself in an icy power and called out. "Tundra slash!"
Fling!
Unleashing a projectile cut that cleaved the Corruptor into collapsing. It slithered away in goop and Teddiursa sprinted to it's tether and punched it rapidly, causing it to emerge as the entity and going for it's face in close combat. Getting it in a stunlock before the human had the chance too, the boy flickered to the entity as a speck of light and cleaved it in the shoulder. The Corruptor clawed him and saw him scatter in light, Teddiursa ran out of there while the Charcadet blasted heartless away in fire. On the other end, Oshawott's use of wind and water sent a duo of shadows in a cluster and exposed it for the Charcadet to finish them off with a combo of flame charge and ember. They made a run for the boy that was standing still and focusing on the entity. He hovered and unleashed projectiles of plasma, blasting it to where it scurried to the ceiling and made the ceiling pulsate in wiggling drops. Porygon gave a tackle right as the entity cling on, flipped to yank it off and slammed it to the ground in foul play. The boy saw the chance, rubbed his blade to make it glow in lightning and slashed into the Corrupter for a critical blow. Porygon followed with a point blank thunder bolt and forced the foe into a stagger.
Teddiursa leaped at the side to commit to close combat while the Charcadets combod it with a fire spin and flame charge. Oshawott used the boy as a platform, leaped high in the air and delivered a fast air slash, comboing it with a water gun.
The Corruptor was trapped in the vortex and let loose tentacles to hurl the band away, the boy leaped on one and back flipped before giving a swift air slash. Oshawott followed with another as the boy flipped after the foe and sliced it in a verticle half. It and the corruption dissolved, light trickled down from the outside and the mansion looked like nothing else was there. The youngsters gave a cheer together and Oshawott landed to boast. "That showed them!"
Porygon gave the closest thing to a smile. "Affirmative! Hostiles removed!" It looked around as Teddiursa saw on her rear in exhaustion. "That got spooky!" Charcadet B agreed. "And it still lost to us!" Charcadet A agreed with that. "And it better not come back here anytime soon!"
The boy finished looking around, caused his blade to disappear in light and phewed. "That could have blown up if we didn't catch that." He turned to them in gratitude. "Nice work." He thought to ask. "Hey, can you all come with me? I think my friends need to see you to believe what they're going to hear."
The Porygon noticed something in the pocket and hovered close to analyze, getting excited as he detected. "Data! Data!" The boy blushed and brought out a phone that confirmed he has the data. The Charcadet brothers looked to one another and nodded to the boy while Oshawott helped Teddiursa up and approached. The bear regained her breath and pointed to the opening door. "Lead the way!"
Back at Twilight Town.
Ken was marching to the a School Zone, with children and parents walking over to a cozy looking campus. He was standing by a lamp post, face to face with a strange starling that was looking at him back. Not unlike an average bird. "I don't think I've seen you before. Where are you from?"
The starling blinked, not certain where he was from, it noticed something in an alley way, flapped in shock and took off to the top of a building. Ken looked to find something glimmer, a golden coin. He ohed with curiosity. "Hey a coin!" He approached with little foresight and found it was attached to the forehead of a light tan cat with three sets of whiskers. Two for each side of its cheeks and two for the forehead. It was licking itself and showing off a curled brown tail and brown toes at the back feet. Ken was drawn to his curiosity and reached to pet the cat, the feline noticed the gloved hand, hissed at the boy and in the blink of an eye, applied a scratch across the face before taking off.
Ken was in quite a lot of pain and stood there, not knowing what to make of it. "Ken are you alright?!" The boy turned to the voice of a green eyed girl with brown hair that have two strands dangling to her shoulders. She was in a black top with red stripes and red pants in a stripe pattern. By her was a brown eyed boy with messy dark blond hair, a white shirt under a short red and black checkered, sleeveless vest and a set of long jeans and a wide hazel eyed boy with black hair and a white shirt with a logo of a dog.
Ken rolled his eyes and shrugged with his gloved arm. "I've had worse. Are you guys okay? Those lights in the sky didn't show up from nowhere and I've been spotting weird critters going around." The girl directed to the black haired boy. "Pence had a close one with a fire spitting lizard." The mention boy added to the details. "While Hayner ran into some meditating... thing as soon as we saw those lights." Ken cringed and focused to the girl. "Olette, what did you find?" The girl recalled the odd morning. "I thought I found a floating light bulb make it's way to the fountain until I saw a tadpole tail and a face. Do you think they're connected to the lights?" The boys thought about it and were willing to hear from the level headed girl, Pence answered heartily. "We know they're connected."
Ken agreed with that as the pain from the scratch wore off. "Miss texted us that something went on and she has someone who holds the answers with her. Maybe if we put this puzzle together, we can figure out what's happened."
They agreed and hurried to make a detour to a sporting pit. Finding Terra looking down at a a small, bipedal, yellow lizard, with a darker shade at a head and baggy legs. It had a red pattern on its belly and a small red crest on the back of it's head. It squinted it's eyes, showed it's teeth and leaped to head but the man. Terra stepped aside, watched the lizard miss and fall to it's stomach, the shed skin on the legs nearly dropped loose, the lizard scurried to pull them up and ran off embarrassed. Using the gap between Hayner's legs as a means of escape.
Ken looked to the veteran in a blank. "That's definitely not normal. Did more of these guys attack you as well?" Terra scratched the back of his head. "That lizard was the only one that made it serious. You had better luck finding something?" The journeyman nodded. "More of them and we know they're connected to those lights."
At a sudden, a short youngster dressed as a mage with a pointed hat and having most of his body hidden under the garments, ran out of a bike lot in fear for his life. "Help! Help! Giant lizard!" A rough voice barked. "Get out of here, freak!"
Something bolted from the lot and made a turn, a man sized green lizard with darker flat scales that resemble a helmet and a bike seat. His throat looked to have a black sack that resembles a bikes tire and his dark green, white tipped tail look like it could curl in a tire. He had two distinct, orange colored cheeks behind it's dark green eyes and it's mouth looked to be toothless. He made a sprint at the five and made a leap to get away, he turned to find a blonde rough neck in a long white jacket and a black beanie, glaring at the lizard to show he wasn't welcome. The lizard had a disappointed frown and hurried off towards the school zone.
Olette pitied the lizard. "Poor guy." The rough neck had a twitch in his light green eyes. Poor guy?! He's the size of a horse and started going after people!" Hayner was in agreement to both cases. "Come on Seifer, that dude was wanting something and he looked big enough that he could have attacked if he wanted to."
Ken stood in between and pressed a hand to both. "We're already on it, these things are everywhere here! Give us some time." Seifer pressed a fist against his hand in his frustration. "Stop those things from attacking us again. Got that!" Ken half dropped his eye lids and gave a long stare to tell him that the rudeness is completely uncalled for. He asked the veteran. "I'll catch up with that lizard, get these guys to the Bistro, because it's the one place where things are actually normal."
Terra nodded. "Just be careful, because it looked like a cat got you right in the face." The lower rank appreciated the concern and went back where he was. It wasn't long until he heard the sound of a child screaming and something giving an equally terrified whine. Right back in the school zone was a red head girl hiding behind an angry brown haired mother that brought about a broom and tried to swat that lizard on the nose. "Get! Get!"
The lizard covered his nose and made a run for the school yard itself. Ken eeked. "OH CRUD!" He sprouted a set of black wings with a feather of white and grey and flew behind, doing more to spook the locals. The lizard made a rush straight to a generator, where he could be alone and curled up to whimper, not noticing the boy that slowed his landing and folded his wings. He focused to make them disappear and pitied. "Hey, could you stop running into places like this, you're scaring everyone!"
The lizard looked to a boy who was looking more concerned than fearful or angry, he shifted his eyes away and lowered his head in regret. Ken crouched to sit on the dirt and could tell the lizard was understanding what was said. "This town's seen so many dangerous things, that they'd freak when something makes trouble." He clicked his tongue, extended his gloved hand and gave a whistle, the lizard woke to that noise and is seeing a gentle face that was keeping a boundary. The lizard slowly approached in a crawl and brought about the attention of bystanders that wanted to know what was going on. He looked around, stepped back and watched the boy notice the surroundings. Ken relaxed and looked the lizard eye to eye. The lizard took the risk, put his head on the boys lap and curled up.
Ken petted the lizard gently. "That's it, you had a really rough morning." The lizard was complacent and the boy turned to see the crowd was amazed. He faced the lizard and asked with a gentle lecture. "Now, why were you trying to approach people in the first place? They got scared because they've never seen you before." The lizard pouted and nudged, Ken had a recollection of something he learned from education and smacked himself on the side of the head with his left hand. "Doi! You're a big lizard!"
He had the lizard step back and stood up. He brought about a black, angelic keyblade with details matching a blue night sky and stars. "Night Sky, let's make this stylish!" The Keyblade came apart in a surprising spin, the hilt absorbed the blade and the star shifted into something of a saddle. Ken grabbed the parts of a hilt and had it rise as a headlight with a center of a white star. It split off handles of blue wings and dropped black foot pegs. The lizard perked and stood up, barking at something he wanted. Ken smirked and with a force of will, had the biker pad float to the back and latch on with a collection of chains, keeping firm. "My teacher and her friends showed this off, I don't know how to make that work fully, but this is close enough."
The lizard hopped in a bark and wagged his tail, he puffed his chest sac and curled up the tail to resemble more of a motorbike, amusing Ken to where he tapped to his gauntlet and give a glimmer. Putting on armor that resembles a combination of a soldier and a western cowboy. He got on the lizard that is able to carry such a hefty weight and gave a light tap with his foot. "Alright, let's head back to the Bistro, I'll tug, you sprint." The lizard grunted and galloped in a manner akin to a horse, the bystanders, composing of school kinds and their parents, had stars light in their eyes at the spectacle.
Back at the Bistro.
Terra and the Twilight Trio were completely astonished by Ven and his band if critters, the grown up squinted his eyes in disbelief. "What in the worlds is going on out there?"
Ven shrugged. "Beats me. A bunch of these guys showed up and we stopped something from breaking loose at the mansion." He looked to the beeping Porygon. "I would have missed that if Porygon didn't figure out that something was wrong."
The duck turned and corrected him. (Negative, I was searching for Data when we found the anomaly.) Teddiursa looked up to Terra in amazement as Olette had a seat with the tired out Oshawott in bee stings. "Or they could have been a couple of kids that didn't know what they were getting into." She bobbed her head with relief. "You guys might have saved the town a while ago."
The Charcadet brothers pressed their fists together in pride and gave a soldiers bow as Oshawott blushed and scratched the side of his head. (Shucks, that was nothing when we were trying to get here.) Hayner gasped to something. "Hey, if Aqua was wanting to see if something off is going on, how about we send her a photo of this?"
Ven ohed and readied a phone. "Good idea!" He stepped back as Terra crossed his arms. "Hold it, we're still one short. Ken should be handling this lizard by-" Gallop! Gallop!
Pence heard the noise and saw something sprinting to the group, that green lizard that as a familiar biker saddle and someone in fitting armor. "Everyone step aside!" He and the band hurried to the lot as the biker gave a tap with his foot and turned the handle, making the lizard skid a stop and with the speed, went for a wide turn. With the biker at the peak of his adrenaline and used a foot to step to the ground. "Alright."
He let go of the handles and stepped off the lizard, the biker flickered away his helmet to reveal himself as Ken and looked over to the lizard with joy. "When you wanted to sprint, you can sprint!" He called to the equipment and caused it to flicker away, back into the form of a blade. He dismissed it and clicked his tongue, calling the lizard to him. He deflated from his bike like form and crawled slowly, having a bright smile while Ken petted him. "Turned out, the lizard just wanted a rider. He can get cold easily and needs a buddy to help him keep warm."
Hayner crossed his arms and snickered. "That makes a lot of sense. Nice work." Ken appreciated the gratitude as Terra had an idea of where the saddle idea came from. "That still doesn't change the fact we still have a ton of these guys out in the town. So, what are we going to do about this?" Ken went to a table with Ollete and the Oshawott as Ven thought of an idea. "What ever is happening, it's scaring the towns people and is giving the bad message. What was happening before we all got here?"
Olette reported. "Some of these guys were getting spooked or something and attacked as a reaction. People thought this lizard was some big, out of control monster and it looks like even the woods aren't really safe."
Teddiursa agreed with that. (Especially around the honey hives!) The more serious Charcadet hissed in protest. (Because you tried to steal from those bugs!) Oshawott leaped in between and gave off a gust of air with his scallop. (Hey, knock it off!) He pointed at Ken and looked to Teddiursa. (Isn't this one of the guys you've been talking about?) The bear nodded. (He feels like one of them too!)
Ken felt he was called out of something and thought. "I'll bet Miss and Xion are dealing with something like this. If they had a girl that knows more about these guys, then it's only a matter of time before they get here." He tapped the side of his head and asked his superiors. "Think we've reconned enough for a full report?"
Ven nodded. "Definitely." He brought out a dripping bag and placed it to the ground. "This also belonged to some of these guys." He unwrapped to show a roasted pile of fruit that had been washed up. Teddiursa and the carefree Charcadet were eager to get back to something as Ken felt relief. "That solves that problem!" He gave the lizard permission. "Take what they're going to give, you all got to be hungry."
He invited the Oshawott to jump to his shoulder. "In the meanwhile, I think we can pull some strings and make the most of that blood money I left in there."
The Oshawott took that as a chance to explore on his own while Terra looked upon a childish squabble. "These guys ran straight into danger like that and wouldn't have made it out of there if Ven didn't show up." He stared into space in hope. "Please have something we can use to get these guys away from that."
At the strange land of mountains.
Daphne and Aqua were standing in front of the castle, with the Incineroar, Silvally and Solgaleo keeping light watch. The woman had Cyndi at her lap as shuffled through the pages of a place with in a crater, seeing crystals matching what was seen and a picture of a savage mushroom with moss growing down from the cap. "This can't be real." Daphne wasn't going to take offense to that. "That's what a lot of people said when they read from this. The Terrastialization that is used in Paldea, a place so deep that still has wild life. Prehistoric Pokemon that look like ones we've seen plenty of." She looked down on that. "This case, Amoongus!"
She contemplated showing a timer ball. "That power came in handy when some crooks tried to attack my home and take away the source of Alola's light. Using the power of a time traveler to mess up our deities and be a danger to everyone. Me and Chimery had to chase that time traveler all the way to old history and I think a tomorrow." She spaced out. "Those crooks did things to that time traveler, to make her go along with it, but with the power to be two types at once." She took a deep breath and phewed. Aqua guessed. "You want to know where that power came from and if you can bring home one of these pokemon? That phenomenon was gone as soon as it appeared."
She flipped a few pages to see a particular one that gleamed her interest. A great cat with a mighty mane, a diamond shaped horn, plates at the back and legs akin to that of a tiger. "Dwelling with in the lower reaches of Area Zero?!" Daphne burst in excitement on that one. "A sketch of something that looks like these three legendary beast meshed together. Entei, Raikou and Suicune. Embodying Fire, Lightning and Water." She was losing her breath as Xion made her return, with Nymble at her shoulder, Volty rolling to her side schematic for something. "Hey, I'm back!"
She approached to see what Aqua was reading, drawn in by the picture. "What kind of pokemon is that?!" Daphne shrugged. "It looks like something I know, but I... don't think it's going to help us out here. Maybe." She put the timer ball away and focused on a more pressing matter. "We've found something in that cave and found a Magby, getting back here as soon as Solgaleo was done flying around. I'm guessing you found the last of the pokemon around here?"
Xion showed the nest ball and the heavy feeling ball. "A Hoppip and a Tinkatink that was working on making this kind of ball." Daphne ohed. "A Tinkatink." She recognize the strange ball. "Wait, is that a Gigaton Ball? They don't make those anymore." Xion put the balls away. "She was smashing the others and we had to find something she wanted to be in. We also found these rolled out."
Daphne took a look and is pleased. "These are the balls that use to be made back when Sinnoh was Hisui." She looked over to the land. "The stuff to make those is as simple as getting cobblestone, some iron and using the apricorns. This means you don't got to rely on me or my brother to smuggle balls over."
She squeed as Aqua closed the book, stood up with Cyndi in her arms, impressed by the progress. "We'll need to know what that stone looks like, but this will be convenient." Daphne clapped to that. "Besides the pokeballs, great balls and ultra balls, the old heavy balls and wing balls got their own use. One is better at catching pokemon you can sneak behind, while the other is good for a long distant throw. Like... really far."
Blip!
Aqua had a text on her phone and called Cyndi back, promising that it will be short. It was a group photo of a band of certain kids, Terra and Ken, with a whole assortment of creatures. Varying in shapes and sizes. "The town's still a complete mess, but we've found some friends that have been a great help." Daphne had a look to find the three teenagers, simple kids without armor or anything. She had a spark of an idea and rubbed her hands together, Aqua pretended she didn't saw that. "They'll need us to show what they need to do with these guys. So... what did you say about fire types, grass types and water types? I got blown by that picture that I forgot."
Daphne knew Aqua was playing along. "They're a common type as a starter and Hoppip is part grass. They can become a speedster you can depend on for the tactical stuff, but it's reliable for capturing pokemon and escaping danger." Xion ohed. "You're thinking exactly what I'm hoping." Daphne ahemed. "Exactly, I just need to get a closer look at them and see if they got what it takes to be trainers. Champions insight." The ladies finished a call back as Solgaleo hmmed to an idea, Xion put the schematic away and pointed to the door. "We just happen to have a way right there."
The Solgaleo turned confused as Daphne felt an idea. "Or-" She hurried to the lion that lowered himself. "Or we can arrive with style. Solgaleo and his lunar counter part, Lunala, have the power to travel between words and make up entirely of light. You guys use that power to open stuff..." Aqua played along. "and it can guide us to where we need to be as long as we know the way." Xion eeped. "We can do that!"
She looked to the ladies, then to the Solgaleo, making a fast sprint and jumping on. "I call drive!" Aqua covered her mouth politely as Daphne climbed on. "As long as it doesn't make another wormhole, then it's going to impress someone!" Aqua took a jump on the lion and advised. "Make sure everything is secured somewhere, we don't want to loose something where we're going." She gave Daphne the book, the three made the effort to secure every pokeball and valuable item to where it won't be dropped.
Daphne thought out loud. "I'm going to transfer some logs and data over to those phones, so you all can gave a pokedex on the ready. It's absolutely needed once I have to head back to Ultra Space and help clean up the mess over there. Maybe I'll see if I can have a move advisor or something so you'll know the kind of moves better suited for your partners. Some of them work real well with you... but some... really don't." She waved a hand. "You'll be on your own for that decision."
Aqua giggled like a lady. "And where's the fun if we don't discover things on our own. Xion, if you may?" The girl brought about the Vector of the Heavens and gave a channel of light, in sync to the Solgaleo's third eye, radiating the tip of the sword as the wielder aimed to the ledge and brought about a beam of power that flew over and burst into a keyhole of sunlight. The Solgaleo glowed, gave a fierce roar and made a dash, blinding the riders until they saw a mix of twilight and found themselves flying above a clock tower connected to a train station. Xion blinked to regain her vision as Daphne shook off the light and woahed at the strange world. The teenager directed towards a path to the bistro and pointed. "Land us over there, Solgaleo!"
The Lion hurried to his descent and landed right by a gathering of people and pokemon, a Teddiursa fell right at her rear over that as a bike lizard leaped back and is seeing a mightier ride. The Solgaleo looked to the onlookers, shook his mane politely and lowered himself, letting the ladies off. A duo of lightly armored men approached Aqua fast, the younger of the two was amazed. "That was so cool!" Aqua blushed in glee. "We had to think of something, since our friend doesn't have the ball of this big guy here." She tapped the Solgaleo by the leg as the man is speechless, Xion jumped off to greet her trio of friends and cheer. "We're finally here guys! How's it going?"
Hayner put his hands to his hips and squinted his eyes. "Take a look! These are all the guys that Ven and Ken were able to find!" Xion turned to see the menagerie, baring a missing Otter and a particular boy. The lizard approached for a sniff and Xion turned to see the big friendly creature. She gave him a petting and caused him to smile in a tail wag. Lick! It licked her face and made her giggle. Daphne slid off and gave a counter. "Teddiursa, two Charcadets, a Porygon and..." her eyes widen. "a Cyclizar! Who's the lucky dude who made friends with this one?" Olette pointed to the restaurant. "He's in there, trying to bribe some food for us." Xion gasped, let the Cyclizar know she's a friend of the rider and hurried in. With that on the way, the youngest of the Wayfinders approached the strange girl. "So, would you mind telling us what happened?" Daphne blushed and shifted her eyes away. "Well... if it's the only way to explain this."
Inside the kitchen.
Ken was out of armor and was given the honors of chopping up a quantity of ham for casserole bowls, while Oshawott filled in water for boiling. He had cheese sprinkles ready and asked the rodent on his head. "So like this?" He had caution as the chef gave a nod. In a sudden, a door opened and a voice called. "There you are! How did you make friends with a lizard, that big?"
Ken gasped and turned to see Xion, having a misadventure of her own. "Where do I begin! He fell from one of those lights and tried to find a way to get warm, just so happened because of his size... everyone thought he was trying to eat someone or something. Once I figured out what was going on, set something up so we can have a ride across town back to here. What kind of friends did you make?"
Xion watched Oshawott fetch some cream to pour in and recalled. "It might easier if I show you. What were you trying to do here, in the first place?" Ken sighed. "Tried to get rid of my blood money, then we had way more mouths than I can afford, so Lil' Chief made a deal. He'll let me cook this and-" He puffed his cheeks on a realization, nearly cursing. "now you guys showed up. Is there any others who are with you?"
Xion gave three fingers and walked in. "What are you making, is it quick to make?" Ken was feeling dizzy in the head thinking about it. "Oeufs en Cocotte and many of them. Get some casserole bowls and try to follow as fast as possible."
Outside.
The twilight town trio quickly realized that because there was company that came at an unexpected time, there might be more mouths to compensate for. Pence cringed. "Yikes, can it get any worse?" Terra breathed out. "It happens, he'll get over it." He watched Daphne play around with the youngsters and have a play fight with the Charcadet brothers, pretending to dodge imaginary attacks and giggling. "Fighters aren't we?"
The grown up asked what he heard. "So after you chased that scumbag out of the world and closed the door, you finished up with some important reads and hurried here?" Aqua nodded. "More or less. We have a way to handle this problem, but we'll need the help of these guys to capture some of the rowdy trouble makers that are out here."
Daphne finished along. "Otherwise, we'll have the problem that this town is having. People not knowing any better and getting themselves attacked, while the Pokemon try to get by when they know they're not even welcome around here. That's never in good harmony." She readied a bag of balls and smiled over to Ven. "I've heard you made friends with a pokemon of a really strange color. You might need this if you want to find him again." The teenager stared blankly and recalled a neon colored clown. "Wait, you know about Bursty?!"
Daphne smiled wide. "An Ultra Beast, really powerful pokemon, one of the reasons these Wormholes are a big deal. I've reserved three pokemon for... someone around here, so you, Terra and who ever's working in there, have options." The Teddiursa yipped to the others to get ready while the boy had one pokemon in mind. The more serious Charcadet sweat nervously while the boy pointed over to the Porygon. "We really should keep these guys away from anyone who might be looking to hurt them for their own gain. Who ever set that totem up tried to attack this guy first."
Daphne hmmed as Ven asked. "What can tell me about Porygon?" Daphne didn't have the nerve to bring the Dex. "It's a first in a line of the only virtual pokemon around. Made and developed to explore places we couldn't even dream of. Right away, Porygon is stronger than most first stage pokemon and has a wide selection of moves, typical of a normal type. They're low maintenance are are really easy to evolve if you know where to look. Before you think about going to who knows where for a Blacephalon, give Porygon some exercise and make that sync together. If you want."
She looked over to the Charcadets. "Because I've heard a lot about what these two pokemon can become and maybe, with a bit of a guide, can be one of the most dependable troopers you'll find." She pointed to the Teddiursa. "And you can't ever go wrong with Teddiursa either." Ven was more certain and picked up a humble pokeball. "Porygon, are you up for some exploring?" The Porygon waddled his flippers and spun his had. (Explore, rescue, adventure, excited!)
Daphne found the beeping quite cute as Ven looked to the ball and gave the virtual pokemon a tap, the ball opened and brought it in. Shake! Shake! Shake... click! Daphne clapped eagerly as the Charcadet leaned to a table leg and crossed his arms, looking away with disappointment. (I guess, he did turn that fight around.) Click! At the sudden, Ken, Xion and the Oshawott stepped out, the boy with the glove announced. "Now we got the food on a timer! If there's anymore that didn't give calls, too bad!"
He saw the Solgaleo and immediately crossed his arms while Daphne passed along. "Solgaleo doesn't really need to eat that. He feeds off of light just fine." Teddiursa and the other Charcadet smelled spices on the duo, looked to each other and twirled around in a dance for food, Xion brought Ken to the lizard and had him face her. "Look away from that! You've worked pretty hard today and you need a break." Ken breathed out while the Oshawott leaped off and realize Porygon is missing. (Hey, where did Porygon go?)
Daphne had a guess, by the Oshawott and the Cyclizar staying close by. "Sorry for the sudden drop. Name's Daphne and I might be one of the reasons this whole thing is happening." Ken didn't mind. "You can tell me later, once we get this under control. What matters is you've been helping Xion and Mo- Miss Aqua, clean that mess up over there. I think if I'm told a few names, I can put together that I shouldn't be peeved at you."
Daphne went to the main subject. "Some black coat with a busted leg and a blade, tried to sneak to this castle before we caught him red handed and one thing lead to another." The boy nodded politely. "Now I get what happened." The girl continued. "If you're going to get all these pokemon to safety, you'll need to capture them and they'll need to be roughed up. You need partners to do it and a pokemon's the best way to do it."
She looked to the duo Ken's befriended. "I've been told about how you made friends with Cyclizar, so what of Oshawott?" The boy answered clearly. "He looked like he was wanting something to do and I thought he help me out with the kitchen. That scallop helped a ton in cutting." He brushed his hair assertively. "I could a hand or two in case we get another scratch cat or something that isn't going to play nice. What do you say, Oshawott?" The otter pointed to himself, looked down to the Teddiursa and gave squeak. (It would help a lot more if we know what we're doing.) He raised his hands in a cheer. (Count me in!)
Daphne gave Ken a pokeball and searched for something in particular. "Then, it's time you make it official. Catch that Oshawott while I get something special for Cyclizar." Ken repeated what he saw, aimed the ball over the Oshawott's head and gave a "boop", bringing him in the ball and feeling a rather intense shake that escaped the hand. It landed on the table and clicked, before opening to bring out an Otter that was weird out. (No, no, no!)
Ken raised a brow and Daphne eeked. "Urk, we have one of those. We sometimes have pokemon that don't like being in a ball. It's not uncommon but at this stage-" Ken didn't quite care. "You can't force em."
The girl found a red ball with yellow cheeks and a lightning bolt. "There it is!" She presented it to the strange boy. "This is a fast ball, it's very good at catching fast pokemon and I've heard Cyclizar is an easy pokemon to catch." The Cyclizar ohed at the ball as the girl explained. "It's a fancier ball too."
Ken smirked and stood up. "After all he's been through, he should get the special one." He pointed to the road. "Show me how fast you can get over to that intersection and back! You'll know when you're fast enough." The Cyclizar barked and sprinted all the way over, making a wide turn and heading back, Ken readied his arm and gave a throw with the fast ball, making it collide with the speedster and watching it take the steed, it gave a shake and landed in a roll, going to Ken's feet as it gave a shake and clicked. Ken picked it up and whispered sweetly. "You and I are going to make great things happen." Oshawott snickered to his partner in glee. (That's both cool and warm at the same time.)
With that, the Cadet brothers and Teddiursa remained. Daphne approached to show the bag and Terra was seeing the dancing and was about to refuse on the spot, Teddiursa was given a call from Oshawott and looked over to see the otter pointing over. The bear turned to Terra and approached eagerly. He didn't have to nerve to give a direct no to that face and looked to Aqua. "Do we really need to bring these guys into danger with us?" The lonely Charcadet huffed as his brother halted his behavior and was given advise of something. The other approached with a soldiers stance. Aqua sighed to a point. "Right now, it's a bad idea to try anything without knowing how to make the most of it. But, there's potential in fighting alongside them. As we've fought alongside others before."
Daphne agreed with that and picked up a couple of nest balls, to use as a demonstration. "Raising a pokemon is a big responsibility. But it can be worth it in the end." She gave the Teddiursa a light tap with the ball and caught her with ease, picking it up and presenting it to Terra. The adult took a deep breath, grabbed the ball and let the bear out before taking another. "We've done crazier things together, then we ever did alone."
The Teddiursa was let out to that and cheered for duty, leaving the two Charcadets remaining. The distant brother approached from behind and gave a similar stance to his brother. Daphne suggested. "I think one of these two could be a big help as well, so take your pick."
Terra looked over to the two and remembered which one Teddiursa got along with more. He readied a nest ball and focused on the normally carefree cadet. "We're going to need a lot of work to sort out that behavior." The cadet cheered with his Snack Buddy and was captured in a flash, leaving the remaining Cadet to give something of a smile, Aqua felt that respect and readied a nest ball. "Don't worry, you're being captured too." Tap! With him captured, the tense air lessened. Daphne considered that a business done and brought out ten beast balls for Ven. "Just so I don't forget, you'll need this if you run into any Ultra Beasts."
The boy obtained the ten and Xion tilt her head for the three teenagers watching. "We got one more surprise; Olette, Hayner, Pence, front and center." The trio did as told and Daphne brought out the net ball, the nest ball and the quick ball. The girl of the trio looked upon those three. "Xion, what are you doing?"
The black haired girl smiled glee. "If there's still pokemon out here, then we need the help we can get. We've caught three pokemon back home, that could make good partners."
Daphne gave the balls to the one who knows the trio most and explained. "While anyone can have a pokemon as a starter, most of the time if they don't know someone who can help. They are given one of three choices when they come of age. Often, a grass type, a water type and a fire type. While these aren't the pokemon considered starters, they won't disappoint you if you know how to use them." Xion gave the balls a toss, letting out a blissful Hoppip, a mild behaving Poliwag and the shy Magby. Daphne described the three. "The breezy, but disruptive Hoppip!" The cotton weed noticed the three and gave a hello. "The swift swimming, dependable Poliwag." The tadpole looked up to the three and bubbled hello. "And the humble, but blaze heart Magby." The little flame waved.
The Champion waved a hand. "It's better than a trio of Meowths." Xion gleamed. "You've been saying that if something happened like before, you want to do something about it. This could be that first step."
The twilight trio remembered that promise and called for a huddle out of hearing. Hayner asked his mystery solving buddies. "They're seriously going to give us some one to fight with?" Olette smiled to that idea. "We're finally going to do something besides sit around!" Pence shifted his eyes to the pokemon and all the mayhem that ensued. "But do we have what it takes?" Hayner wondered about that doubt. "The girls talks like they're not much now. But if we put the work with those," Olette gasped. "And learn from them about what we can do" Pence concluded. "we can catch up!" He pat his friends on the back. "Now who's going with who?" Olette wondered. "The way that girl said it, each of these pokemon are able to do something. Hoppip has a strategy that can keep someone from fighting back." Hayner added his own plan. "Poliwag can be consistant in the water." Pence finished. "And Magby's good with fire and has a few extra tricks."
The trio called break and went to the pokemon of their pick. Olette raising a shoulder to invite Hoppip in a perch, giggling to the carefree attitude. Poliwag attempted to stand firm to Hayner and tried standing on his toes before falling forward, presenting a wake up call and Magby puffed out fire and offered a nervous handshake. Olette and Hoppip gave each other a tackle while Hayner crouched to pick up the Poliwag and had a bright feeling. "This feels right." He lifted his head. "So, what's the next plan?"
Ken was checking his timer. "Originally, we were going to meet up with the others at the Kings place. BUT there's another town I'm worried about that would be a bigger fire work than this one has been." He turned to Aqua, who over heard. "Traverse?" Ken bowed. "That place exactly. With even less people that know what they need to do and one of the guys being a super villain on probation, that place can't wait. Permission to request something?"
Aqua sighed. "You don't need to ask." Ken turned to the trio of teenagers. "We're still leaving this town with a whole lot of problems and it needs to be addressed to his Majesty right after." Ven added in. "and something is crawling in the shadows, waiting to make a bunch of chaos." Ken continued. "So, while we handle that mess. Could you... try to make sure the towns people know about what's going on, so they don't cause anymore trouble? Then" he tapped his cheek. "try to catch one more before we get back. It will stop things from getting worse and we'll know you can handle things under pressure." He nodded with a professional smile. "Welcome to the team, guys!"
The boys gasped at the honor as Olette blushed in a stutter. "Th...there you are, talking like that again." Xion tugged at Ken and promised. "We'll be back in town later anyways, to act like a bunch of kids. We just need to handle the responsibility."
Ken petted the Oshawott, letting him know that a bigger task is ahead. "Sorry about saying all that, we just need to keep calm and not panic." The kids consider that a good point and Daphne readied a phone. "So, what's special about that town and how are we going to get in there?" Aqua laughed to the amusing part. "We should approach this from two angels, Solgaleo can get us there easily, while the rest of us could take the way to the train stations and make contact with an official. Daphne, Ken is my other student and has a history with that town. Do you mind going with him and Xion" The girl considered. "If... he and Cyclizar can keep up with Wawae." Ken didn't mind the compromise. "Long as we're up to pace. Depending on what is happening, we might need to book it right there. Let's give Miss and the others time to-
