PEW! PEW! PEW!
In a blue sky void with asteroids of floral domes, a space battle occurred between a silver ship and a small fleet of battle boats that have black, crow wings. The Corvid Skimmers shot orbs of green fire as the silver ship performed a barrel roll and on command of the pilots, fired a bombardment of missiles to blast the Skimmers away. One of them fired a particular, yellow eyed missile and had it make impact on the ship. Causing Aqua to let go of the controllers and address a dark presence squirming into the room and spilling in what looked to be cutlass wielding swashbucklers wearing fancy looking coats and powdered wigs. The Keyblade Master sent out Cyndi and had her spew smokescreens to blind the foes, while the trainer rushed in, glowed her blade in crystal light and threw it in the smog, slicing the foes into nothing and back flipping for a crystal spear upon the hatch.
Making it disappear as Ven saw a keyhole and ordered. "Oχιά, get us through!" The ship accelerated and zipped through, returning to the simple space of the lanes and calming down. Ven was allowed to let go and cheer. "Nice flying, that was looking tough!"
Virtu went out of hiding and beeped. (Are we in the safer lane now?) The ship beeped back. "Affirmative, no hostiles detected." Aqua carried Cyndi with one arm and admitted. "Felt like the forces of Darkness were waiting and licking their wounds for the moment we end up on the move again. It's expected, but it's nothing we can't manage." Blip! "World detected! Bringing it into view!" The band looked to a screen coming down and showing more detail of a planetoid. One with a lot of trees and a hick town with a water tower. Ven pointed onward. "That's the place! Gravity Falls!"
He tried to straighten himself in preparation and earned a giggle from his Big Sis. "Don't sweat it. You already did the hardest part and became Bursty's friend. He's smart enough to avoid any real danger, now that he had some experience, he's not going anywhere."
Ven blushed to that. "I... I know, the mission comes first and it's going to take a lot to catch him." Aqua gave a proud, grown up, if smug smile. "The world wouldn't have guided us to it, for just one pokemon. We follow the call and we will find many things on the journey." The screen closed off and showed the world in view, Oχιά gave a countdown for when the Wayfinders could land on the world.
On an abandoned church
A blue Blacephalon looked upon a sunny sky and kicked his feet innocently, between the sudden bursts of wormholes and feeling of those from home, it was only a matter of time before more change falls upon the wilderness. Rustle! The Ultra Beast heard something bellow and dropped down to find a particular friend he shared a story with, a yellow humanoid with two, three fingered hands, pointed, fox like ears, a long snout, a mustache, a star on his forehead and a spoon. The humanoid floated mid air and sat in a meditative state, his tail made it look like he was sitting somewhere, while his mind spoke to the alien. "He, who you've befriended, will make his arrival soon. Along with another who will be guided towards an experience." The Ultra Beast gasped and gave a collection of giggles while dancing like a child, the psychic raised a finger. "Please, speak more with your mind." The Ultra Beast calmed down in his thought. "Ven's back? Is Ven back, Kadabra?"
The Kadabra nodded with good will. "Very soon, the boy I seen in your memories, will return with some friends. Their journey would have only begun and it will take much before he would be ready." Bursty turned his head to the Kadabra and gave a hum. "He's bringing friends?" He clapped excitedly. "He's bringing more friends!" Kadabra nodded and smiled. "Along with another pokemon," He rolled his eyes mischievously. "I suppose, we could ensure that destined encounter, comes to pass. If it is needed."
The Ultra Beast nodded. "Ven finds Twins, they guide through world. His friends look obvious?" The Kadabra conjured an image of a rather lost looking Aqua. "We are the end of Ven's adventure, yet the other's most inner desire could save us all." He gave a glow of light. "I shall let them know we are here. You continue hiding and wait." Bursty clapped to a better idea. "Friends at lake and the disguised one need to know." He sprinted off and left the Kadabra to teleport. "We will make our fate come to pass soon."
Pew!
Aqua, Ven and Virtu warped upon the world and found themselves at a road by a forest. With the water tower in site and a small town just a ways away, the Keyblade Master was already feeling lost. Ven used a piece of string and tied it around Virtu's neck. "Alright, until we can tell them, just pretend that you're a balloon." Virtu understood and went stiff, ceasing her breath and floated to the whim of the wind as her partner called to his Big Sis. "Come on, Aqua, we've seen this kind of land all the time."
That much, the Sis could agree with as she kept the ball containing Cyndi to her pocket. "Yeah, from the height of a mystical land or with in the woods of a kingdom." She and Ven made their way around the water tower and had a view of the small town. "But this looks more casual than the towns we've made home." She cringed at a regret. "This is one of the worlds we ought to learn from. And it would have been perfect had we not left Terra behind."
Ven felt a dagger at the word. "Aqua, you know what that triangle is capable of. We left Terra with that kid, for their own good." The Keyblade Master envisioned impressive findings on her normally gullible partner, taking his lesson to heart and do much more to see through a villains deceit. She pouted like a typical teenager. "It is, but it hurts that we had to tell him."
She picked something in her sense and saw something making himself known in the woods. A strange yellow humanoid with a star on his forehead and a spoon. A quick check on the Dex showed it to be a pokemon known as Kadabra. She stopped in her tracks and Ven had a look to see the strange pokemon, giving what looked to be a welcoming smile. The two blinked in shock and found the visitor to have vanished.
Giving the dex user time to read about the Psi Pokemon. "Psychic type with strange powers, evolves from an Abra and can evolve into an Alakazam." She could tell by the names. "A magician, if I don't know better." She focused on the Abra and found it amusing. "As an Abra, it can use those powers even when it's asleep and it's a sleepy head." Ven laughed sarcastically. "Like we have enough of those. Any of them involve blinking away like that?"
Aqua nodded. "It's an Abras desired means of self defense, teleporting away from danger. This also means, any wild pokemon he's friends with, are going to know that we're here as soon as we can prepare." That was something Ven was concerned about as he remembered the route. "So let's find the Shack as soon as possible and see what's going on today."
At the other side of the town.
Kadabra teleported in thin air and heard a talk between Bursty and a particular, relaxed individual. A figure cloaking himself in mist and revealing himself to be a black haired man in a white kimono with red stripes. Having a set of red eyes and an uncertain frown while scratching the back of his head. "They'll be busy once they see the mess. Anyone can talk the talk, but not many can actually walk it." He notice the Kadabra and waved. "I got told what you were up to. You're having high hopes on them as well?"
The psi pokemon nodded. "I felt their intentions, Kitsune, it's typical, but well meaning." Kit cringed and raised a finger to wag it. "I've told you, keep that name to yourself! Kit works just as fine." He insist. "You and Bursty need to stay out of sight until they start going into the woods more frequently. I'll try to check on the others and see if they're holding on against the weirdos around here." Bursty groaned, but was complacent as Kadabra nodded. "We understand, we'll do our part to make sure little harm comes to the lost ones as well." He and Bursty looked to each other and hurried off as Kit turned a particular direction and dashed off into the shadows.
Over at a dirt road from the town.
Ven, Aqua and Virtu had a brief exploration of the town, finding some tourists looking at a strange gray stone tower with a distinct curve while on their way to a worn down Shack of Mysteries. The Keyblade Master was oddly drawn to the town's charm and how such a place existed beyond the radar. "It's no wonder Kendry talked about this world. This is a place that you can get away to and have adventures and mysteries waiting."
Ven agreed with that and hurried ahead. "Yeah and the one thing he's reported on, more than the others, are the people that helped him and his friends out." He had a sweat at a memory of what happened right when he was about to leave. "Just expect anything to happen once we get in there."
Aqua breathed out, expecting insanity, her Lil' Bro opened the door for her. "After you."
Aqua stepped into a gift shop full of strange oddities and nick knacks. At the cash register was a red haired teenager in a green stripped, lumber jack sweater and a brown wool hat, reading a magazine involving no eye contact and completely unaware of who arrived. Aqua looked around and saw a shelf of snow globes with a ridiculous price tag, she blew out in frustration and went to pick one up by a rack of gray t-shirts with dripping question marks. Ven and Virtu followed in and notice that no one is paying any attention to the oddly shaped balloon.
In a sudden, a kid with a lollipop was minding his own business, flipping a nickle and getting close to a post of fliers. Out of nowhere, an elderly man in a black suit, a set of glasses and a red fez with the image of a goldfish going after a pellet, appeared from behind it and yelled out. "Hello!"
Causing the child to scream in terror. The Grunkle stretched his face and insist. "Please, don't let my horrible elderly face frighten you!" He went to a stand that was covered in a tarp and pulled it to reveal a bronze, mechanical prospector that was panning for gold and looking up with an overly exaggerated face. "Don't you want to use that nickle to get a nugget from Old Goldie?" The child wasn't certain as the Grunkle raised a finger and winked to a scheme. "Watch this."
He put a nickle into a coin slot right into the machines throat. The machine was shaking and raised it's hand to reach it's hat, making it pop out and slide back in place before bringing the hand down. The still eyes rolled loose and the mouth flooded in crude oil, spilling over to the wooden stand and screaming in agony before short circuiting and popping his hat up. The child was reduced to tears and ran back to his parents as the Grunkle realized his scheme failed horribly.
The cashier watched that and advised with grim. "Okay, seriously Mr. Pines, it's time to throw that thing out." She cringed at the sight. "It's face reminds everyone of the inevitability of death!"
The Grunkle thought out loud. "What?" He had a finger under his chin. "Sure he's a little rusted around the edges" and put his hand on the oily stand. "but Ol' Goldie's a classic show stopper, like me!" His hand slipped and his arm got caught in Goldie's teeth, the Grunkle screamed in terror and yanked the machine out of it's stand while trying to smash it loose. "Kill it! Kill it!"
Aqua's face widen at the chaos and Ven whispered. "That would be Stan and the cashier Wendy." The Keyblade Master ahed and looked back to the Globe, trying to think of what to say as she processed the havoc.
She turned to find, an over weight man, resembling a gopher, emerged from the shirt ring, showing a simple brown flapped cap and a dark green shirt with a drippy question mark, exactly like the ones in the wringer. Pointing at her with a blank thought. "Your face is good" he pointed a thumb to himself. "I'm a Soos."
Aqua's mouth went wide, her eyes went completely blank and she put the globe back where she found it. "...Nope." She was at her threshold and walked backwards while raising her hands up to her face. "No, uh uh. Negative." She was at the door and asked her Lil' Bro. "Ven, go find the Pines, I think I'm going to take my chances out there and save us time."
Ven was completely lost at what Soos was trying to do and waved his Sis off. "Alright Aqua, we'll find a way to meet back once we got results." Aqua pointed to her Lil' Bro and winked before taking off, Soos realized that she left on the instant and slumped into the wring in embarrassment as a brown haired boy in a black vest, red shirt and a blue and white baseball cap with the logo of a pine tree went to check on him. "Soos, what was that all about?"
Soos was scared witless at what he did. "I.. I think I was flirting, but I'm not sure!"
Ven gasped as a brown haired girl with bracers, popped out of a barrel of question mark keychains, showing a cream colored sweater with what looked like sprinkles. "Did someone say flirting?" Soos stood up to explain. "Well, I sort of promised my Grandma I'd get a date by the end of the week. But I've never actually been on a date before."
Ven heard enough and approached. "So that explains it!" The boy and girl turned to the voice, the sister remembered Ven and cheered. "Venny!" Ven waved nervously at the girl who flirted with him during the prior visit, "Hey Mabel, hey Dipper. " he shook his head at a terrifying thought and gave the grown up a warning. "Soos, that girl was one of the worst ones you could have given a pick up line to. She's gone through so many crazy things that you'd run screaming if you knew about them."
Soos sighed in defeat of a gambit that caused more harm than he'd liked "Awwww." and pulled out a sign from a snack machine. "You belong on my out of order sign." Mabel however, saw an opportunity. "Finally, my prayers to match make this summer have been answered."
The Grunkle got Goldie off his arm, over heard and advised his handy man. "Soos, a little advise." He pointed. "You need to get rich," and put a hand on his shoulder. "or lie about being rich." He let go and swiped a flat line. "Outside of that, I don't like your chances."
Wendy pfft at the horrid advise. "Don't listen to Stan, dude. You're a sweet guy, with a job and a pickup truck." Stan asked his other employee. "Would you date him?" The teenager immediately dodged the question and looked to something on her magazine, burying her face in it as a way to avoid contact. Dipper offered to help Soos out. "Soos, you've helped us so much, it's time we help you dude. We're going to get you that date" Mabel had an idea on where to go, held him by the hand and waving hers to the destination. "We're taking you where romance lives and fashion style dies."
To the Mall!
Suddenly, the Pines family, Soos and Ven were at a shopping mall. Ven was completely spaced out, trying to understand how he got dragged into this. Stan explained the actual reason behind going to such an alien place and pushed the stand on wheels. "I'm going to find a replacement for Old Goldie. Baby sit Soos while I'm gone."
With him taking off, Mabel was on the look out, finding a variety of ladies that were unsuspecting. "Alright Soos, are you ready to drop the charm bomb on these poor, unsuspecting ladies?"
Soos sweated nervously. " But what if I embarrass myself again." Mabel laughed and put a hand over Dipper's back. "Ha. You can't be any worse at this than Dipper!" The brother cheered, not realizing what she said. "Yeah!" Then realize what she said. "Wait, what?"
Ven turned to the entrance to the mall, hoping Aqua had better luck in avoiding shenanigans.
Out in the woods.
Aqua was resting her back against a tree and put a hand to her chest, finding it impossible to believe that she ditched Ven for all that chaos. She breathed in, exhaled and put her hands together. "That was for the best, Ven's not in danger there. I'm just going to have to make due."
She took three balls and sent out Cyndi, Petilil and Stantler. The Cyndaquil was drawn in to the smell of forest as the Petilil chirped and danced to the green, while the Stantler gave a buck and bring their attention to the trainer. Aqua found the shenanigans amusing and ordered. "If I may." The three were listening. "We've arrived at this world and I think some of our supposed help is having an episode. While Ven deals with that and tries to find a pokemon, we'll try to get by on our own and track him down afterwards. So, where should we start?"
Petilil looked around in confusion and looked over to Cyndi in defeat. The Cyndaquil had a sniff and felt something caught into her nose. Something sweet. She chirped and waddled onward, leading his team mates to a brush cluster, with a gate of tress close together and bound by a master piece of a web. Perched upon it was a six legged, green spider with an abdomen that has markings of a face. A single horn on a head, red mandibles for a mouth and a set of happy looking eyes. Chatting with a floating, pink mass of cotton candy.
The cotton candy spat a glob of sticky web to help finish the work and giggled like a kid on sugar. Petilil kept behind Cyndi as Aqua identified the two pokemon and whispered. "Spinerak, Swirlix, let's have a little talk." She brought out a net ball and tossed it at the spider, the Swirlix felt a change in the wind and eeped, surprising the spider to where he jumped higher to the web and watch the ball get caught in the center.
Swirlix made a run for it as the Spinerak hissed mad and climbed down fast, the misfits took a step back as the Spinerak fling himself for a pounce. Aqua groaned to a failed throw and asked. "Stantler, if you would?" The deer stepped forward and gave a stomp, the trainer ordered. "Use hypnosis while I try this again!"
The Stantler waved his head as the Spinerak turned around to avoid the hypnotic waves, he turned forward and unleashed an infestation to keep Stantler in place. The Stantler groaned and tried again, sending the spider into a slumber. Aqua brought out a heal ball and tried another throw. "Go!"
Tap! Shake...shake...shake... click!
With the Spinerak caught, the small insects scurried away, the trainer thanked the deer and picked up the ball. "Now, let's see if this guy can help us." Pop! The spider still wasn't happy about his day being interrupted as Aqua crouched pet the Spinerak on the horned head and asked. "Do you happen to know anymore friends we might want a chat with?"
The petting was making Spinerak calm down fast, he turned and skittered, encouraging the others to follow him. Deeper into the woods, where a fallen tree and a stump were in the way, sitting on the stump was a red eyed, black haired man in a white kimono with red stripes. Petting a pink, plush, red panda on the back of it's ear. Under his leg was an walking acorn seed with a mask like set of black eyes and light brown pupils. Whistling a rather distinct, mystical tune. Aqua and her partners realize, the moment they make any form of contact with this man, they'll be in for a threshold beyond an outrageous impression. The Acorn turned at a sense and his whistling took an off tune, causing the red panda to turn around, see a stranger approach and take off.
The strange man knew that meant someone was coming and looked ahead, he put his hands to his legs and stared, like he half expected her to have arrived later. "So, you've finally came?"
Cyndi and Petilil kept by Stantler as the Spinerak gave an eager hiss. (I found more friends, Kit!) The man looked down at the spider, having a bit of judgement in his air. "I believe you have." He looked back to Aqua. "I'd reckon, you didn't come here with just these three?"
The Keyblade Master shook her head. "I brought Ven and his partner for this mission. If you had an idea of what was going on at that Shack, you'd high tail it out of there while you still can. It's no coincidence that these pokemon seem to know you, what's your name?"
The man answered while keeping to his thoughts. "Kit, just call me Kit. You'd can say that I'm not really from this grove of insanity either. When the sky lit up in a light, beyond the boundary of the worlds. The true chosen will come, to prove themselves worthy of setting things right. That is what my boss said to expect while we waited."
Aqua pointed at Kit and pieced the laid out clues. "Arceus sent you to be Shadey's caretaker! Among other things that you're not going to tell me about." Kit smirked, looked down to the two pokemon and invited them for a light petting, the two took the offer and Cyndi purred while Petilil closed her eyes and relaxed. "Heh! I knew you'd figured it out once you found that final clue. Shadey's around the town, but good luck finding him if you can't spot his clues. Your friend might actually have that chance, if you're busy out here in the wilderness."
Aqua felt a looming guilt blow away. "I'm pretty sure Ven will figure out the mystery. So, I'm waiting for the part where you tell me something vague and mysterious as some sort of test." She smiled with pressed teeth. "Can we get that over with?"
Kit was a bit surprised and raised an eyebrow looked at the challenger. "Not a chance, at this time, when we have things that need to be done as soon as possible. The Pokemon aren't the only weird things in these woods and some of them are a milestone of danger than any of them can ever hope to be. I can't be everywhere at once, knowing where every pokemon is. I can tell you where some of them wandered off to though, so can I trust you to handle that? Can that be the test to see if you can do this?"
Aqua pressed a hand to her chest. You can count on us to see those pokemon are safe. Even if catching them might get difficult, we can know they'll be alright." Kit stood up, let the pokemon return to their partner and tilt his head to his right, an upper left path going somewhere. "I spotted a couple of lost kids wandering to that point of the woods during sun rise, but they haven't came back when I returned here. I'm getting a little worried about them so if you can get them out of any possible danger and not do it in a way that will scare them deeper in the woods, then you'd got a friend in these shadows."
Petilil and Spinerak grunted and hurried along the path as Cyndi and Stantler waited for Aqua's move. The trainer promised. "That will be done." They followed as Kit had a bit of hope. "If you done well enough, you won't find me here. But I'll be easy to spot." He looked down to the Acorn and asked. "Come on Seedot, Stufful couldn't have wandered far."
Ahead, Aqua felt rather charmed by the strange encounter and kept an eye open. Cyndi felt something in her nose and sniffed, hurrying to the Spinerak and letting him know. The trainer asked gleefully. "You found something already?"
Cyndi nodded and hurried to a small stream, jumping over it finding a trial of something translucent. Aqua had a close inspection and found it a phlegm of what appears to be mucus. She looked around to find a reflection of light going off to a trial of blue mushrooms. The band went in close and heard a wail of a scream, they hauled it into the mushroom patch and found a gathering of short, white bearded humanoids with pointy red hats.
Cornering a black specter that wearing a hallowed, round, tree bark helmet that had branches for horns. He was looking scared out of his mind and was keeping between the gnomes and a pile of pinkish gray goo with green spots, four antennas and a wiggling mouth of worry. The phantom covered his face and closed his red eyes, prompting the gnomes to get closer, he uncovered the eyes and give off an astonishing wail, scaring most of the gnomes back, save for a brown beard gnome that was quickly getting over it. "Alright that's it!" He brought out a salted rock. "I'm not going to starve this morning! Get that slug!"
The gnomes tossed the salt at the duo, the ghost kept the slug shielded and was whimpering in fear for safety. Aqua wasted no time spinning her blade and unleashing a frosty wind to blow the gnomes away. Surprising the pokemon with a view of their saviors, Petilil, Cyndi and Stantler kept guard as the Spinerak made it for the trees, Aqua went to give the slug a ride on her hand and asked. "Are you kids okay?"
The phantom relaxed as the slug slithered to Aqua's hand and climbed to her shoulder, Stantler noticed the lead gnome getting up and brayed a warning. The leader of the gnomes shook his head and had a look at Aqua in astonishment. "Sweet blue fey!"
The Keyblade Master pretended to be charmed "Thanks, I get that a lot." and gave a sharp scowl. "Now back off, these kids are coming with me!"
The gnome cringed and jumped in a temper. "Are you crazy or something, that right there is a walking escargot puff and if I don't get something to eat every quarter of the day, I'm going to have to resort to cannibalism!" The band saw that the gnome was certainly, not malnourished, the human shook her head and pretended to pity him. "Oh you poor thing."
She conjured a swath of water to wash the gnomes and the salt away, giving the order to the kids. "Phantump, Goomy, we're leaving!" The youngsters were all for it and let the band lead the way, only for a pack of savage gnomes to block the way, the leader was drenched wet. "Not so fast, you're not stealing my breakfast that easily!"
Stantler charged for a psyshield bash, pushing through the gnomes easily while the others made a run for it. Bringing the leader to command. "Gnomes of the Forest, assemble!" The gnomes scurried to their leader as the band made their escape, Aqua felt Spinerak jumping to her shoulder and whispering. (Get to the other side of the creek, I set up a plan!)
The heroes hurried back where they came and found the creek in view. Phantump turned around and found something massive emerging from the forest, a giant gnome, made of gnomes, being piloted by the leader.
The group made it to the other side and and slid under something at the notice, Aqua made a turn and watched the giant get tangled up in a barely visible sticky web. The human was impressed while the Spinerak jumped off, the two made a wink and the trainer asked. "Get Goomy and Phantump over to safety, we'll handle this!"
The Spinerak nodded and had Goomy jump off, following him and Phantump away from danger, the giant roared and tried to chase after them. "Come back with my food!" Aqua flowed to a tree and made a flip before channeling an icy power. "Sorry, your breakfast-" She unleashed a mighty blizzard. "is gonna have to be cold!"
The giant was blasted and tilted back, dropping a few midgets that crawled back in, the giant slammed a fist to the tree and watched Aqua fly over it. The Keyblade Master landed by her partners and watched the hand break apart in gnomes that didn't like that kind of pressure, they crawled back in and let more take their place. Aqua snapped her fingers to an idea. "Got it! Cyndi, Petilil, Stantler, you see those guys putting themselves back together?" They certainly do, the trainer had an idea. "Petilil, keep by Stantler and wait for my signal. Cyndi, you're with me!"
Petilil nodded and scurried off with a Stantler focusing a barrier, while the giant approached and raised a fist to smash the lead ladies into the ground. Aqua and Cyndi back flipped and focused upon the giant, the Cyndaquil shot an ember blast as Aqua followed with a fire ball. The Keyblade Master swiped her blade and had the fire ball split into many, scorching the gnomes off. Stantler stood in the gnomes way and let loose a hypnotic pattern as Petilil kept by and toss a scatter of stun spore, what wasn't sent into slumber were rendered paralyzed.
The gnomes tried reassembling and the giant was missing a thumb on the right hand. Aqua flowed to a nearby tree before giving a strike to that hand, scattering more loose. The giant back handed Aqua and fling it's four fingers at Petilil and Stantler, letting loose the savage gnomes. Stantler took a stomp and let loose a psychic shield to defend himself as Petilil used the powder to knock the gnomes off. Cyndi coughed out a smokescreen to blind them and use extrasensory power to pluck the gnomes out as Aqua flung a crystal to her flight, flipped to a tree and warped to the gem. She cartwheeled in lightning and use the tip of her blade to call upon a lightning storm, blasting the giant more and more while the leader was realizing his vessel was coming apart. "What the?!"
Aqua called to Petilil, had her jump to her shoulder and dance of yellow powder before blowing the cloud over to the giant, paralyzing the legion that tried to climb back on and making the giant loose it's right arm. The leader had the giant use the other arm to block the next blow, only for it to be torn apart by Cyndi's power, Stantler followed with a psybash tackle that sent the foe stepping back, right on top of a web of sweet cotton. The giant tripped and saw the Swirlix float above for a flip, it barked aggressively and blew a fairy wind. Aqua had a sight of Phantump returning by her, spinning a confusing light upon the gnomes and made the formation come apart, the Keyblade Master glowed in green and punched the ground with Petilil feeding into the blow.
Causing a giant flower to surround the giant and drain the gnomes of their vitality, the human stood up as the giant spat a vicious varmint at her face, giving a shriek that was shot away by Cyndi. The giant was quickly reduced to a torso and Aqua hovered in a glow of light, she charged up a prism rain and fired it as a finisher, turning the giant into a simple pile of gnomes. The leader was sent rolling forward, having to watch Aqua land by her feet and look unimpressed. The gnome saw that she was charging her wind spell and pleaded ."Wait, hold on-" WOOSH! Aqua let loose a mighty gust, sending the gnomes blowing into the forest, the leader cursed. "Wuaaah! I'll get you for thiiis!"
With that bested, Aqua gave a childish smile, raised her key hand into the air and cheered. "Right on, everyone!" She giggled to her partners. "That was an amazing sync," Petilil blushed charmed as Cyndi phewed with a bit of energy, Aqua set her sights on the Phantump and Swirlix. "And you two came at a marvelous timing." The ghost blushed at the honor as Swirlix had mischief in her eyes and licked the air eagerly. Aqua gasped to an idea and asked. "How about you come along with us? We got some kids I want to meet in person." The two looked to each other at an idea, Phantump turned to where he was and had the band follow. Back at the stump by the fallen tree, Goomy was realizing the danger was gone and slumped to relax as the Spinerak looked around to try and see what was taking Kit so long to return.
Cyndi announced in glee. (We're back, those gnomes are sent back to their holes without any breakfast today.) Spinerak was impressed and laughed. (Ha! That taught them!)
Aqua was suspicious about nothing else around, save for something Goomy was on top of. "Hey, someone left something there, would you kindly move?" The Goomy did so and looked ready to take a nap, showing a marking of a spiral shell. Aqua hmmed and sat on it, letting Goomy rest to her hip while the pokemon gathered around her. Something about it felt right and the human took a deep breath as a way to process her experience. "Now, this leaves you Goomy."
The mass of soft tissue looked up to her, willing to listen. "We have a big mission ahead of us for the next few days and we could use all the help we can get. Just so those gnomes don't try this again, I'm going to have to capture you. How are you wanting to do this? It's your choice." Goomy opened his mouth in astonishment and hopped off, getting to one end of the fallen tree. He looked to his saviors, especially the Phantump that tried to protect him. He thought about an idea, tensed his eyes and gave what could be interpreted as a roar. Aqua smirked in respect. "Excellent answer, Petilil, you may."
The budding pokemon nodded and went to the other side of the arena, giving a particular step for battle. Aqua ordered. "Use stun spore for paralysis!" Petilil twirled and rushed in fast as a cloud of yellow, getting Goomy into a blast that left him stiff, the dragon inhaled and blasted Petilil back with a paralyzing dragon breath. Aqua cringed and called Petilil back. "Fine work, Cyndi, it's your turn!" The Cyndaquil waddled into the fray as the Goomy was struggling to move, Aqua ordered. "Smoke screen and follow with quick attack!"
The Cyndaquil fired the black smoke and rolled to dodge a water gun squirt, the fire type rushed in fast speeds and gave the Goomy a tackle. She stepped back as Aqua called. "Again!" Rush! Goomy slumped down and formed a protective barrier to shield the attack before Aqua followed. "Extrasensory!" The Cyndaquil took a step back and let loose the strange power, tossing Goomy towards the stump and leaving him in a flinch, another psychic blast caused the dragon to muster up the nerve and fire a water gun that sent Cyndi in a roll.
The fire type shot an ember and left Goomy about tired out, Aqua brought up a dive ball and gave a gentle toss at the back of the dragons head, watching it bring him in and land on the grassy grounds. Shake...shake...shake... click!
The Goomy was caught and Aqua clapped. "Nice work." She let the paralyzed Petilil out picked up the ball to show it, letting the Goomy out and applied a light heal for the injuries. All the while, Cyndi was giving a glow, growing longer and having the snout shrink. The evolution was rather quick and in the Cyndaquil's place was a kind of stoat with the colors of a Cyndaquil. Having opened red eyes and bumps on her head to go with the bumps on her rear, she gave a growl and shot out flames from both bumps. "Quil!" That was quite impressive and the Spinerak tapped his legs. (Look who's evolved!) Aqua knew that was a praise and agreed. "And the timing couldn't be better for Cyndi to grow into" She checked the dex. "a Quilava." The Quilava gave a grunt and turned to where Kit gone off to. (Say, should we explore more? I thought Kit was going to be back after all that.)
Spinerak wasn't too worried as Aqua advised. "I'd like to search more, but I ditched Ven after seeing a store gone mad and some dude that... was saying something to me? I think he was trying to say hello." She was confused at the man's choice of words. "I don't know what he was intending, but I don't think I was going to handle it with all the noise in my head."
It was a topic for some other time and the Goomy was ready to fall asleep, Aqua called her misfits back and stood up with the Phantump and Swirlix. "You're all too cute to end up lost this crazy, crazy forest." The two floated by and saw something fly past them, a shadow of a dove. Aqua looked up to get a faint glimpse and couldn't quite make it out, save for the white and the patterns of red and blue. She used her dex to get a more distinct image of that giant dove, a Togekiss.
At the Mall.
Ven was coming to the conclusion that Aqua isn't going to be showing up anytime soon and turned to look upon Soos's issue with woman. With Mabel announcing. "And flirt!" The boy and his virtual duck watched Mabel's advise backfire spectacularly.
From making eye contact; which involved Soos going towards a lady and proclaiming. "Hey there, I'm not scared of your eyes at all." He pulled his eye lids open. "I'm going to look at them!" Scaring off the lady while shouting. "Eye contact!"
To conversation. "Haha, you know I've actually been in a pigs body. Do you know pigs have a hard time walking backwards" which drove a lady towards walking back. "haha, not you though. Not that I'm calling you a pig, hey where you going?"
To having enough confidence to talk with someone at a place of edge. "So, you're probably a girl right?" Soos wasn't even sure about the person he was talking with.
"Wrong?"
"No I was right the first time!"
"Wrong?"
That last one caused Ven to smack himself in the face, this was getting absolutely nowhere. The boy went to a store to try and get away from the failure and see if he couldn't get back to finding more clues. Catching the odor of greasy cheese and getting blinded by flashing lights, his senses caught up with him and he found himself in a children's arcade playground. Complete with horrific mascots wedged to the wall, out of control kids scarfing down on pizza and a pizza shaped ticket dispenser spewing it's payload. He looked around while Virtu kept a slow rotation. "Where did we go to this time?" "What is this living nightmare? And why do kids love it so much?"
Ven and Virtu found Stan wandering in, having gotten rid of Goldie and be drawn in by curiosity. Before they answered, they found a pack of children before a theater of animatronic animals, one in particular, a humanoid badger, played heavy rock and called out. "Who wants to get badgered?"
The kids were going completely wild and Virtu spotted something off at the arcade machines. One of them showed off a sapphire blue, wide finned orca and a ruby red dinosaur battling each other fiercely with the sea and the earth. The boy followed his partners guide and had a closer look. The machine had what looked to be a set of glowing pink eyes at the top and a white coin slot that resemble a mouth. The buttons to make the game were, were of red, blue, green and yellow. The machine blared the melody of trumpets and Virtu pretended to drift over into a closer view. Ven chose to ignore the chaos Stan is having with the badger and a manager, and chose to follow Virtu's guide. Watching the game feature a brawl between a white fur, sharp claw ferret with red markings and a black serpent with purple scars, long red fangs and a red bladed tail. The preview changed over to a a purple horned, reptilian rabbit and a large, purple, cat like, red eyed phantom with a sinister grin. Partaking in a brawl that oddly feels classic.
The two looked upon the title. Legendary Monster Brawls. The familiar creatures brought the boy into asking. "What's this doing here?" He pressed a button to turn off the demo mode and was shown the image of a pokeball shaped stadium, the action packed music changed with something jingly and whimsical. A sprite, looking like a orange light bulb, surrounded by a sparkling blue plasma, appeared on the screen. Showing two feelers that resemble a lightning bolt. A speech bubble appeared bellow the sprite. "Welcome to Legendary Monster Brawlers. Please insert your phone into the slot to begin the game." He looked to the side and funny enough, the slot was built in a way that a phone could be placed over the coin slot.
It feels suspicious, especially to Virtu. She moved out of her balloon like pose and looked over to Ven, who wasn't buying it either. She gave the phone a glow and used it to type something into the machine. "Hello there Rotom. We'd like to chat." The message appeared above the pixel rotom, it looked at the message and shifted his eyes to where the slot is. "Please insert the phone to begin the game."
Ven opened his mouth in astonishment, realizing what the machine actually is. "Not yet, do you know any others like you that are around here? We need to find them fast." The Rotom pretended not to hear that and caused a glove to appear, going down to the screen and pull up four questions.
A. "Which pokemon would you like to talk about?"
B. "How did you figure it out this fast?"
C. "What brought you here in the first place?"
and D. "Would you please insert your phone?"
The red button, labeled B, was given a press.
The questions went to the side and Rotom thought up answers.
A. "I haven't seen any other pokemon here."
B. "I've seen a pokemon here before."
C. "No one else seems to know what you are."
D. "I just guessed."
Ven went for the blue button, labeled C. Rotom asked in text. "It feels like it. Me and some pals made a run for it when we fell, but some pokemon were here already and one of them is willing to watch over us." Ven had an idea who and saw the Rotom glisten in the eyes, signaling that he turn around. Sitting by a table, having a wide smile, was a small kid with brown spikey hair, blue eyes, a white shirt with highlights of blue and red pants. Ven felt his heart skip a beat as the child spun a finger, telling him to turn back around. Virtu kept her eyes on both sides as Rotom asked something else. "You look like a half decent trainer. Would you like to play a different game?"
There was a blue yes and a red no. Ven pressed the blue button as the child clapped in applause. A long pause was felt and Rotom's still frame floated up and down, flipping his feelers. "Oh boy! This is going to be fun. This one is hide and seek. There is no time limit and you got two levels to pick." Ven was feeling that something wasn't right with the presence behind him as the Rotom's eyes widen. "Ready or not, here I come!"
In a sudden, the still frame shifted to a laughing Rotom that was flying right at the screen. The machine sparked brightly and Ven stepped back, only to find the Rotom wiggling out into the third dimension, to give a shriek. Ven screamed and fell on his rear as Rotom zipped out of what really was a broken Arcade Machine, laughing merrily and flying into an empty wall socket, getting away with his mischief.
Ven had his hand to his chest and slowed down his breathing. Calming down as Virtu helped him get back up. They turned to the mysterious child that was puffing his cheeks and burst into laughter. "Hahahahahaha! Rotom got ya good!"
The younger voice sounded identical to who the form resembles and Ven laughed with sarcasm. "Ha, ha." He thought more about it and it actually was kind of funny. "Ha, ha, ha. He could have fooled anyone else here, Shadey. What are you doing here?"
The child rolled his eyes. "Just sneaking in here and having some fun without paying." He kicked his feet playfully. "I've been keeping count on the pokemon that wandered to this place." He looked around and whispered. "I've managed to find one that is hiding in this mall." Ven isn't falling for the facade. "Knock it off, we know you were turned into an egg when we last saw you. What are you?"
Shadey squinted his eyes and had a bright smile. He went to his pocket and pulled out a smoke bomb, giving a strange pink glow. "You won't find out if you don't catch me."
POOF!
Ven conjured wind to blow the smoke away and found an orange monkey leaping towards a window, the monkey had blue eyes, a fiery bum. The monkey laughed and clapped, taunting Ven to go after him. The older boy charged and the trickster rolled out of the way, making for the door on all fours. He got out and tripped a trash can as a way to throw Ven and Virtu off the trial.
The duo checked over and found a blue lion cub with an upper half of blue fur and a lower half of black fur. Having those blue eyes while sticking a tongue out and sprinting off, right as Ven hurried to chase along, Virtu saw something in the pin. A bright white pokeball with blue wing markings and a wooden underside. "Pory!" (He knocked something loose!)
Ven took the moment to notice the ball and pick it up. It was light as a feather, an idea came. "He's going to run if we get close to him." He looked at the cub that smiled and disappeared behind a man with a pizza t-shirt, transforming into a light brown terrier pup before taking off. Ven followed the movement and dashed nimbly, keeping watch of the bystanders and getting to where Soos was failing in his romantic quest.
The boy tossed the ball and felt a breeze go across his face as it flew after the terrier and hit him in the back of the head, bringing it into the ball that flipped to the ground. It gave a shake and shot off fire works. Shadey... was caught. Ven hurried to get the capture and was processed what he just did, he picked up the ball, shook still and looked to the balloon acting Virtu. He gave a cheer. "Yes!" He aimed the ball forward. "Now let's see what you really look like."
Pop!
"Wrwu!"
Out of it came a shaken, blue eyed, black fox with red eyebrows, paws and red fur at the tip of his hair. He looked up to Ven with a smirk, waiting for the boy to bring out the dex and get a read. The teenager did so, checking the name of the pokemon and bursting into hard laughter on reading the name in his head. He looked to the fox, tried to say something and laughed even harder. He showed it to Virtu, who didn't get the joke. The boy breathed. "Oh, ha. It's a long story, but Shadey came from Sora." He pointed at the fox with some spite. "The guy who turned you into this, really thought this would be funny." He coughed and read out loud. "Zorua, the tricky fox. It transforms into a person and go into cities for food, when Zorua does this, it turns into a silent child." He sighed. "Well, as silent as an ordinary one can get. But seriously, Shadey, have you seen any others that would be in this town?"
The Zorua thought of one and raised his paw. (I did know about that Rotom) He admitted. (Kit has been pretty thorough about making sure the pokemon were staying out of here. He said that if I can spot any of you, I can go make some trouble.) He looked around more serous. (I'd found two that were dangerously close to the town.)
He spotted Soos giving up and slumping on a bench in defeat with the Pine Twins. (But for now, I think we need to know what Soos and the Pines are up to.) Ven understood why that is pretty crucial towards managing a crisis and called the Zorua back. "We'll show them what's going on once Soos figures this out."
The boy and his companion caught up with the three, sitting by a video game store. Mabel was getting a toy from a capsule machine and tried to encourage the grown up. "Don't worry Soos, you'll find the right girl." She took out a green sticky hand. "You just got to stick with it!"
She had the hand fling to Soos and stick on him, the grown up wasn't liking his odds at courtship. "Oh, could this day get any worse?" He turned to see a man, looking much like him if he had more hair, tough looking clothes and an attractive black haired fiance hanging out with him. "Oh no, cousin Reggie!" The cousin flexed his arm to show off. "Feel it, it's muscle!"
Soos tried covering his face. "He can't see me like this!" He looked around in a panic. "I gotta hide!" He rushed into the video game store and hid in a corner, he curled into a sob despair. "This is it Soos, a life time of loneliness." He pulled out some video games to distract himself. "You're the only ones who could love me. Fighty Hog, Dr. Punch Head MD."
He notice in a box by him, a purple case with the logo of a pink haired school girl. A Romance Academy. "Huh, never seen that before." He picked it up and read it out loud. Virtual improve your dating skills. Nine out of ten basement dwellers recommended." He realize how that can help him. "This is perfect!"
The group caught up and over heard, Dipper recommended giving that a try. "Well, I guess you are better at games than at flirting." Mabel agreed with that. "Anything to get you out there Soos." A blonde cashier with glasses however, didn't. "I'm not sure you want to buy that game sir. This is the third time somone has brought it back and there's a note on it that says-" Dipper flipped the gave over to see the note. "destroy at all costs."
The group turned their eyes over to Soos, who was trying to flirt with a card board cut out of a video game character. He poked "Hey there, what's your deal? Like to-" the cut out fell over flat. "Oh she's dead!" Mabel looked to the clerk. "We'll take our chances."
At a parking lot with the strange, brick tower.
Aqua had Phantump and Swirlix disguised as shrubbery and gave the explicit order. "Now, you two wait here, while I go see if your partners are done at this... place." She turned and found the family taking off, leaving Ven behind to look for someone. She cursed "Darn it, I missed the whole thing." and waved. "Ven!" The boy turned to find Aqua, who had knowledge to share, he got closer, knew his sister in arms had something and asked. "Hey, can we keep the surprise a secret for just a little longer. Until we can get back to the Shack?"
Aqua nodded and gave a firm clap, making Phantump and Swirlix appear from their disguise. "It's not going to be fun if they don't catch them, you know." Ven felt something was accomplished and insist. "I know, but we can't let them stay out here."
Aqua agreed with that and brought out two nest balls. "So, we have to go for plan B." She turned to the courageous Phantump, showed the ball to earn consent and tapped him on the forehead for a fast capture. The Swirlix saw the ball take her companion and tried to fly off with a high pitch yell. (You'll never take me alive!)
Ven flinched, brought out a heal ball and tossed it to the back of the fairy type, capturing her with ease. With that, the Wayfinder duo were left with themselves and the disguised Porygon2, Aqua took a deep breath and lead the way to the shack. "Look, I'm sorry for bailing, that was just way too much insanity for me to deal with at once."
Ven understood and pressed his lips. "Yeah and it didn't really get better. Only that we learned about what Soos is trying to do. There's an event that's going to go on and he made a promise that he'd have a girlfriend by then. He's pretty desperate and he doesn't know what he's doing."
Aqua gasped at a rather rare episode of what would have been a usual thing for her. "So he was trying to flirt with me, I'd say that it was so weird that I wouldn't have gotten offended." She breathed out bitterly. "I would have still said no." That was something Ven had to agree with. "Yeah, you don't just go telling pick up lines to a girl you've never met before. He was just lucky it was you, every other one have just screamed and ran without even trying to stay cool." Aqua cringed to that. "That would have been a rude way to do it." Ven followed along. "I'd hope he found something that can help guide him. Because we got nothing that can do the trick."
He smiled wide. "Me and Virtu finally caught a pokemon, you won't believe how that happened." Aqua gestured in a tease. "It's all unbelievable, but go on."
Ven went for his pocket. "There were two pokemon that hanged out at the Mall, one is that pokemon the kids have in their phones. A Rotom. We got to figure out where a Rotom would hide in there and get him cornered." The Big sis guessed. "So he wouldn't get away again?" The Lil' bro puffed his cheeks. "How was I going to get him out of an arcade machine? You know what goes on in those." He was thankful for one thing. "But it was already busted when Rotom found it for his pranks."
He pulled out the jet ball. "The other one is in this ball. Shadey's finally been found." Aqua stopped in her tracks. "Really?!" Ven smirked in mischief. "And he's been getting way too close to the locals."
Pop!
Out came the blue eyed fox, the trainer was still humored. "You won't believe who he used as a disguise and you won't believe what pokemon he is." Aqua took the dare to read the Dex as the Zorua turned into a squirrel, dashed to a lamp post and spun around it with his paws, turning into puff of smoke that reveled a young Sora. "Tada!"
Aqua had a read at the name, Zorua and snorted out the most unlady like laughter she's had in a while. She coughed out mucus and cleared her throat. "Ha! Sora's never the end of this Zorua." Shadey snickered and asked. "So, what have you been doing?"
Aqua recalled. "A lot since you came here. But I think we'll leave that as a surprise for Xion, we'd tell her that we found someone she knew until we can meet with her again. That won't be for too long though."
She breathed out from her laugh. "In the mean time, me and the others have found some more pokemon. A Spinerak that would make a good camp keeper, a Goomy that we'd save from some crazy gnomes." She widen her eyes and kept silent as a way to emphasis that the gnomes were actually insane in the head. "And the Phantump and Swirlix that's helped us deal with them when the gnomes banded together into a giant."
She thought more sincerely. "They had me thinking, once the Pines know what's going on, they will tag along." Closed her eyes and regretted. "Because Light forbid, our Rebel Squad had to tell them the truth. Can those kids fight, at all?"
Ven shrugged with mixed opinions. "About as well as a bunch of kids their age can. But against what we deal with, they're survivors." Aqua took the word survivor to heart. "Right, survive long enough to be a help while we do the dirty work. We should come clean and show them their partners for this expedition. Phantump has some gloomy mysteries in the logs and Swirlix is made of nothing but sugar."
Shadey closed his eyes and remembered the Pine Twins usual habits. "Sounds like they'll get along." Aqua agreed with the wild fox. "I've heard these two pokemon are really easy to evolve if we have the material. If things get worse, the Pines will just need to learn to handle something bigger."
She moved on to more pressing matters. "I've also met Kit, we should find him in the woods if we need to meet with him. He seems trustworthy." Shadey second that opinion. "He's been good to me and some of things he talks about is making sense now that we're seeing it."
Virtu looked around to make sure no one was listening and asked. (Do you think he use to be a pokemon trainer?) Shadey shrugged. "I never asked."
The four headed to the Shack and found nothing in particular happening, meaning they can enter unopposed and find Stan pacing back and forth with a plan in mind. He had a chance to notice the duo and groaned. "Ah Jeeze, it's you again." He put a hand to a wall assertively. "What are you kids doing back here?"
Ven found a convenient tale as Wendy was more focused on her magazine. "We've heard that an incident around here dumped some animals into these woods and we'd came to get them relocated. We'd think since the Pines have traveled around here, that they'd might be a help." He introduced. "Stan, this is Aqua, my older sister."
Aqua played along and waved. "It's a pleasure to meet you, a student of mine has told me a bit about you." She offered a handshake as Stan realize she really doesn't know much and followed along. "Mmm. Well, if you're a friend of those kids, then you might be alright. Don't get them into any trouble, ya got that!"
Aqua vowed. "Don't worry, we'll be handling the most dangerous creatures." She gave a wink as Shadey had a look at the knick knacks, behaving much like a typical kid. Ven signaled that the disguised fox follows up the stairs with him and Aqua, once out of sight, Shadey revealed his real form and looked like he had a fun experience. Up in the attic, the band found the Pine twins to some activities.
Dipper was on his bed, staring up at a ceiling as Mabel was on hers drawing out her match making plans. The brother woke up from his trance and gasped. "It's you guys again!" Mabel flipped on her stomach and kicked her legs up. "What's brought you back to these falls?"
She half dropped her eye lids and made Ven look away nervously. The boy answered to keep a conversation going. "We've told Stan everything he needed to know. If you saw some stars open the other day, then you need to know those aren't stars. They're wormholes like the one Bursty came from. They're dropping these creatures called Pokemon, all across the Falls and it's for their own good, that we catch every single one of them."
Dipper realized. "We might even have pokemon like Bursty on the loose." He smiled widely. "This is going to be huge!" Ven raised a finger to correct him. "You're not wrong, Bursty's one of these special pokemon called Ultra Beasts. Very wild and powerful pokemon that if spooked, could bring havoc to this town. We haven't looked far enough to spot any, so that's good."
Aqua opened a dive ball to let out the Goomy. "But, me and my partners rescued this guy from these gnomes that were going to try and eat him. If there are more mysteries like that, then we need to make sure nothing gets overlook."
The Goomy relaxed to the feeling of wood as Shadey leaped to Dipper's lap and brushed against him, Virtu floated more straight forward and chirped. (Every spot you can think of, could have a pokemon waiting.)
Dipper thought about the ordeal at hand. "So they'd come in all sizes, can be as strong as we can imagine and if the wrong word gets out, we'd have poachers try and make a quick buck off of them. We're going to need to learn some traps." Aqua smirked and showed a nest ball. "Or we work with the partners we have to make these guys beatable."
Pop!
She and Ven let out the shy Phantump and the energetic Swirlix. The ghost was surprised and twirled as the Swirlix barked loudly and drew the attention of a pig that had a lick for the air. Mabel giggled as Dipper felt his heart racing a hundred miles an hour, Ven asked with some concern for the day. "So, while Soos handles that issue. We're thinking of searching around the woods, we're going to need your help to track the secrets. What do you say?"
Mabel and Swirlix completely ignored the question and broke into their sugar reserves as Dipper took the offer into thought and looked to the Phantump that was giving a cheer. He offered a handshake. "Ven, you got yourself a deal!" He asked the older Wayfinder. "Those dudes from earlier told me all about you, Aqua right?"
The lady nodded. "You are well informed." She gave Dipper the nest ball as Ven placed the heal ball by Mabel's night stand. "It can be as simple as bringing them along for the adventures if it calls for it. But be careful about showing them off, one misunderstanding can turn a whole town inside out." Dipper understood that and looked over to what Mabel is making fast friends with. "So, what kind of monster did you just give my sister? It looks like it's made from cotton candy!" Aqua showed a Dex on her phone. "Since we're here, let's find out!"
Somewhere in the afternoon.
Bursty was kicking in excitement over something he seen as Kadabra meditated in peace with a relaxing Kit, Stufful, Seedot and a blue disk with yellow eyes. Bursty thought to the Kababra. (He's caught a pokemon! He's caught a pokemon!) Kadabra nodded. (One who is reborn in mischief, fitting of a child.)
Kit looked on to the two. "Precisely as expected and if that mall didn't notice anything better, then Ven's done well. Some determination, some wit and a little kindness is what will blend together to make this dream come true." He sighed. "We just need to keep being tougher on them, so they'll be ready when the complications arise."
Bursty pressed his hands together as a dove came to a tree and begun nesting. (We're so close, when? When?) Kadabra raised a finger upward. (Soon, in this very spot! They will use it to stay. On the glimmer of metal, they will come.)
Kit nodded to that plan. "If they don't mind the neighbors. But, this kindness can merge our worlds more. Like the humans and pokemon of yor. They eventually learn to get along together and face legends! Maybe soon," He looked over to Bursty and cleared his throat.
Ripple!
In a sudden, a facility like base materialize out of thin air. One having a feeling of open hostility, until Bursty stood up to wave and greet him. The others still felt like they were being stared at. Rustle! Rustle!
"Last time, Oχιά found a good spot around-" Leap! In a sudden, a Quilava and a rascal of a Zorua appeared, leading Aqua and Ven to the clearing. The Zorua turned and jumped in a taunt. (Ha, beat you!) Cyndi huffed. (You won't next time.)
Virtu noticed the large gathering and flew by to communicate with the gummi ship, Aqua had time to notice the ship and the variety of critters that made the grounds comforting. "This is perfect." She squeed like a teenager as Ven laughed. "Told you! We're so in the middle of nowhere that-" Bursty shot his head out, unable to contain his excitement, making an explosion that brought about the teenagers notice while he hurried. (Ven! Ven!) The boy was surprised and turned, getting watery eyed as he and the Ultra Beast shared an embrace.
Aqua saw Kit was enjoying the scene and saw that Kadabra from before, she went over to talk with the mysterious man. "So far, we've caught a lot of pokemon and we've trusted two of them to some kids that have potential. How far are we before we consider this day a good start?"
Kit hmph and looked to the smaller ones. "Well, these are all the ones I've found and I haven't seen many more in this part of the forest. However, that Cyndaquil finally evolved and you've acquired the aid of a Goomy." Aqua nodded to him. "We've read some notes on the dex, Cyndi was suppose to evolve sooner and Goomy has a giant gap before he can evolve. But, I know these kind of pokemon can become something incredible if given time." She blushed. "It's just a good thing that Goomy is cute and can cling on."
Kit raised a brow. "Hmm? I've seen worse ways to handle a Goomy at that stage. It must have taken more effort for a Cyndaquil to get the strength around here. But it was about time anyways." He had a particular tip to give. "In regards to Petilil though, you're aware that you won't easily find the requirement for her to evolve." Aqua was still interested. "Do you know where those stones come from?" Kit shrugged. "It's a mystery to me and it's definitely a mystery for you."
He watched Ven and Bursty let go, the boy showed two balls that are a housing for Virtu and Shadey. "Bursty, it's going to take time before we can get strong enough to make you apart of the crew. But, I found some friends that will make that journey a good memory." He introduced the Porygon2. "Virtu." and the Zorua that played with the strange disk. "and you've met Shadey." The Ultra Beast nodded and pointed at the Zorua. (I saw you!) Shadey rolled to the Blacephalon and danced with him. (Surprise! I've been here all along!)
Kit grunted to the two options. "They'll be good as any handy partner on this journey. Just remember the task." He asked with caution. "Hey, if we stay around here, are you going to try to catch some of these when you have the chance? They'd like to sleep around here if they feel safe."
Aqua scoffed. "And miss out on the lessons we can learn?" She waved a hand. "As long as they're using this place and we don't have an emergency right here, then they are accounted for. The moment they go out there though, then we need to do what we can to get stronger." She ordered the ship. "Oχιά, any pokemon you have registered in the data banks is considered a guest. You can rest your guard if they want to rest for the night. If you see anything that looks like they're coming after these pokemon... expel them."
Blip!
Kit is astonished, yet pleased by the efficient request, he relaxed to the sight of the base. "Phew, I wasn't liking the way that machine was looking at us." He stretched and was ready to take off. "So, once you've logged what you need and rested, come find me over in the woods by the mountain. I have a surprise that will help you along the way."
Ven realized something and pressed a knuckle to his hand as he connected something together. "You'd had that ball put in that trash bin, didn't you?" Kit asked back. "That old jet ball?" He pretended that it is a recent memory. "I did ask Shadey to keep it close, but not too obvious. They're a old design but if you're going to travel, it wouldn't hurt to know how to make more."
Ven imagined it. "If it can end a fight before it starts, then that would mean less damage for the world!" Kit raised a finger and cheered. "You got that right. I've been doing some planting, while a buddy of mine has been helping make... something." He headed over to the mountain. "I'm not going to tell everything right away. Do you still trust me, even knowing that?"
Aqua would rather lay down blissfully with her darlings and call the rest a day. "Some of our brains almost exploded when we learned about your boss and that he's been up to something. But, he has helped us even when he could have left once the war was over. You've helped us even before we came. So we can trust that there's a good reason that you're being vague."
Ven second that trust. "It's what we're doing now that matters more. So were all friends and I'd hope we stay friends." Kit nearly forgot that he was smiling and tried to hide it. "I'd keep an eye and ear open before I'd believe anything I'm told. But you have the right idea." He asked the Zorua. "Shadey, if you want to go into town as that disguise, you should transform here, while no one is able to see you. Either or, they're your captains now. Follow them, like you've followed me. Are we clear?" Shadey stood firm to his chaperon and mentor. (Yes sir!) Kit took off and left Aqua to rest by the grass, letting out her team for some relaxation while Ven went over to a tree to sit against and listen to the simple melody nature has to provide.
