Somewhere in a dangerous wasteland, a small, blue elephant with hard red markings on her nose and the end of her ears was surrounded by a pack of giant dark lizards that dart through out the shadows. She lifted with her hind legs and slammed her fore legs down to stomp with all her might. Unleashing a bulldoze shock wave that knocked the lizards back. They rushed at her for a biting counter attack and she braced a protective barrier, less to avoid them and more so her companion, a giant pygmy elephant with Great Tusks, could follow with his own bulldozing stomp. Roaring out a mighty "OWRRRRRR!" and burying the monsters under primal might.
The duo used the time to escape, rolling up into something of a tire and zipping through the desert, to make it a border of grassy plains. The duo unrolled and slid in a skid, getting right in between the wasteland of dangers and vast landscape of grass, a clean river and a few great trees scattered about. Ahead is a mighty mountain with a cliff side bellow and a mass herd of creatures making a migration towards such a place. The elephant calf jumped in joy. "Hurray! A herd of pokemon made it here!"
She rushed ahead playfully, only to realize the sun cast shadow wasn't with her, her companion wasn't coming along with her. She stopped and turned, stomping like a typical kid at her protector. "Come on, we've been fighting non stop to get here!"
The Great Tusked one grunted in agreement and stomped a foot that had pink fur, the calf tilt her head on realizing. "Why aren't you coming?" The Great Tusked one used his flat curled nose to punch the ground and growled. The calf interpreted that. "Because there could be more pokemon that are lost over there and someone needs to bring them here?" The Great Tusked one nodded and turned, bringing a set of reptilian eyes from the shade as he readied to hurry back, the child couldn't blame him. "Yeah, I'm not liking the look of that bird either."
She tried to waddle back to him, only to be met with a growl of bared teeth. Going back into the Outlands wasn't an option for her, even if it is to keep company for a friend. The calf puffed her cheeks in a pout. "Okay." The Great Tusked one gave a well meaning smile as the calf rolled into a tire and headed off to the heard, before he rolled up and headed back to the Outlands.
In a Pridelands with floral regrowing.
The herd were making their journey into brighter pastures, the Cadet was hut, hut, huting like a typical trooper and was driving the Mankey into vein pulsing insanity. "Would you stop that! It's like you're expecting a war zone!"
The Cadet saluted to his companion. "I'm sorry, but a trooper has to be ready for any fight, at any moment." The Mankey realized the Cadet wasn't going to be quiet anytime soon and Terra ordered for compliance. "Enough already. You're right, we're not expecting another war this soon. But the mission is that important."
Timon heard a particular word. "Another what?" The lion wanted to end the topic right there. "We had a fight with some Chaos bringers that wanted to end the world, so places are still shaken by that." Leon ahed and looked around to what is a typical Savannah. "So it's with in our best interest if we prevent another one. Since I'm not seeing anymore pokemon right at the moment, we can still catch this problem early enough so no one would care."
Scyther and Pueo noticed noticed something coming at them from a side of the desert, something resembling a fast moving tire. The Decidueye hooted. "We got a roller in coming!" Scyther estimated. "Looks like a small one too."
Terra and Teddiursa stood their ground and saw a dirt cloud at the distance, a strange, lightning fast zebra was running for her life as Leon recognized the tire. "Hey a Phanpy's coming towards." He cringed. "Oh no, a Phanpy's coming towards us!"
He signaled the herd to back away as Exeggutor used his psychic power to slow the roller down, enough so she can make a complete stop. She unrolled and tapped her feet in a rather adorable dance. "Haa! I knew there was a herd here!"
The Teddiursa gave a trusting nod. "You heard right. We're heading to that big rock, to talk with the King about some problems going on. Where did you come from?" Phanpy shivered and went to the point. "From the Wasteland of Monsters!" Pueo asked. "Also known as, the Outlands?" The elephant nodded. "That place!" Flamigo cringed at the word. "¿Cómo lograste salir vivo de allí?"
The Phanpy didn't understand what the bird said as Leon dreaded. "That sounds about as dangerous as what we heard. How did you know to come here?" The Phanpy felt lost in her attempt to remember the dangers and looked back. "A Donphan with great big tusks was there to watch over me until we heard of a place that isn't as scary." Pumbaa asked confused. "A who with Great Tusks?" Leon answered. "A Donphan, an evolved form of Phanpy. Or a Phanpy that's grown up, it's quite powerful, can bring about earthquakes and level hills. Any big toothy cats or what ever that tries to take a bite out of that-" He cringed as Mahi Mahi gave a bellow out of his throat. "Is making a biiiiiiig mistake."
Terra imagined how an elephant of any kind, least of all one with powers over the earth, would handle an ambush. "And out there, it could be the last mistake you'll make."
Leon agreed with that. "It's a good thing Pō has taken to the skies, that Donphan could use all the help he could get." Phanpy gasped. "Wait, that scary bird is with you?" Leon assured the Phanpy. "We'll explain this with the King. But Pō is going to let us have an idea of what's out there and buy us time before we have to go." He asked the rather brave calf. "You want to come along?"
The Phanpy gasped, smiled and had a small dance. "Do I? We got to find a new home since we've all fallen out!" The strange charm even quelled the anger in the Mankey that laughed with her. "We do, I'm liking you." He offered to keep by her and kept to the migration towards Pride Rock.
The community felt rewarding, until some peace was broken by the distant sound of a moo. Terra, Leon and their crew hurried ahead to feel a stomping quake. A pack of yellow colored lionesses were sent flying from something and one cat in particular was sent in a roll from a double kick. The lions backed off and caused the Flamigo to jumped in shock and squawk. "Gato con dientes!"
The bird was ready to help who ever was fighting back as they and the king's acquaintances notice the fighter to be a black bull with three tails. Leon recognized the bull and used his psychic power to pull the Flamigo back. "Hold it, hold it! That's not going to help Tauros."
The keybearer agreed and had his partners follow to face the bull, Timon and Pumbaa stood in the way of the lions in an attempt to stop a hunt. The Meerkat called to them. "Ladies, ladies! You're getting the wrong idea!" Pueo kept guard of the injured lion as Terra used a heal to remedy the relatively minor injuries. Terra brought out a blade to keep guard and called. "Mankey, let's go!"
The monkey scurried to face a bull that was in a defensive haze, the ape challenged him. "Bring it on, Tauros!" The bull stomped the ground and grunted in an answer. "You're here to get me too?"
He worked himself up as the Mankey rushed at the hooves and gave a low kick trip, Tauros countered with a fast double kick and sent the monkey rolling back before charging after Terra, who locked his blade with the horns. The lion jerked left and sent the bull rolling to the side in an impressive hurl. Tauros caught his footing and head butted the lion while rearing up for an earthquake, Scyther swooped to get Mankey off the earth as Terra jumped to avoid the attack all together. The mantis let Mankey jump off to a tree and dived after the bull to deliver a dual wing beat, knocking some wind out of Tauros as Terra maneuvered around and gave a shove that knocked the foe over to the tree. Tauros was on his knees, unable to battle.
Terra dismissed his blade and went to help the bull up. "I guess this place isn't as safe as I thought it was." Timon shrugged. "Eh, it's the Circle of Life." Heatmor grunted to that. "A carnivore's gotta eat."
Durant kept a distance, hesitating to agree with his predator as one of the lionesses was more confused. "This buffalo was far stronger than any we've hunted, you know about this?" Leon nodded to the carnivore. "You got him confused, but that's a Pokemon, not some ordinary bull." He turned to the Tauros that was realizing he isn't in anymore danger. "That is a Tauros, a particular one that has the urge to fight heartier in his blood compared to certain others. If you tried to pick a fight with them, especially one that knows how to shake the earth... you'll have worse than an empty stomach."
That cleared up the confusion and the lioness who asked looked over to Terra, feeling something oddly familiar with him, the others had a look at an approaching herd of beasts that looked absolutely nothing like the locals they've shared the lands with.
The Lioness groaned at the predicament and kept a professional, if apologetic tone. "It was easy to mistake one for the other, would you mind telling us what you're doing over here in the Pridelands?"
Timon explained it for the Espeon. "Those stars we saw the other day caused all these guys to show up and cause an invasive problem, if you know what I mean. The Circle of Life's going to be in jeopardy if we don't do something." Pumbaa admitted and addressed to the bug types. "We were almost kicked out of our hidey hole by accident when we thought some of these bugs were the locals."
The lions knew fully that these two were insectivores, they was bewildered by the thought and cringed, with the lead lion pitying the two. "Woah, that's bad." Leon agreed and addressed to the Flamigo. "And if none of you could compete with that, then that would be a major problem in the long run. Some of us came from elsewhere, some of us escaped the Outlands and some pokemon are definitely those who can finish the fight for survival. That's why we need to talk with your king and soon."
Terra helped the Tauros get on his feet and patted him on the back as the Flamigo noticed one oddity with the lions. "No te pareces a los gatos con dientes que trataron de hacerme una comida." The huntress was having a headache and issued an escort. "Alright, let's see what we can't do." Terra asked the Tauros like a fellow warrior would. "Hey, just so you don't get attacked again, how about you stick with the herd for now? Okay?" The bull grunted and kept to the back, following across the otherwise, tranquil plains.
On reaching the base of the mountain, Dugtrio saw it was a collection of rocks and chose to keep behind, while the rest climbed up to the mouth of a den. The lionesses gave a roar and were given a rather moody roar back, emerging from the cave is a yellow lion with a red mane, looking like he was napping from a boring day. "Mmm. What time is it?" He noticed the odd shaped misfits and looked upon Terra in particular, he had a brief flash back of a moment where he was on top of a mountain and found a man of a familiar color, with a certain band of defenders. His eyes widen and he asked. "You're with Sora, Donald and Goofy, are you?"
Terra huhed and remembered Sora summoning a fiery lion with that similar physic, he gasped and asked. "No way! You were the one he called upon?" Simba gave a respectful bow to an acquaintance of a friend, like he is an honored guest. "Anyone who's a friend of Sora is welcome here in the Pridelands."
The lionesses relaxed more as the King looked around to find Timon and Pumbaa with a fiery ant eater. "You two got back earlier than I expected, could you tell me who you're with?" Timon nodded. "They're a bunch of animals that fell out of those stars yesterday and they're a big problem."
The Exeggutor chieftain approached to apologize. "A big one." "We didn't mean any harm." "We're upsetting the natural order of the lands by being here." Durant, Tauros and Flamigo looked to each other in a nod and approached, the metal ant kept polite as he explained. "We thought we were somewhere else when these three thought I was a snack and some of us wrestled them out of that oasis. Easily, wrestled them out. We don't really belong here and we're looking for those like us before we try getting out of here."
The Tauros grunted. "We're all hearty fighters, you see." Flamigo nodded in agreement. "Si, Luchadores poderosos." Leon translated for him. "Great fighters, with powers you all aren't familiar with. If a predator mistakes one of these for a meal, that's not going to end well and if a predatory pokemon sees prey around here." He didn't want to imagine how the food chain would have been scrambled as Simba understood the ordeal. "Then they will just take from the Circle of Life and cause everything to crash again?"
Scyther fluttered his wings and gave his agreement. "Something like that, I even marked a piece of territory at the oasis and tried claiming it as mine. If anyone else tried to claim that from me, it would have gone ugly." Terra imagined any old beast would have been sliced in two on the instant. "We also have another problem on our hands. Not every pokemon was lucky enough to have fallen to here or the Oasis, some landed in a place called the Outlands."
That word brought urgency as Leon explained. "An apparently dangerous place that the only two pokemon that escaped that place, thus far are Flamigo and Phanpy!" Phanpy swung his trunk around in agreement. "And there's a lot of pokemon stuck over there. The Great Tusk is strong to fight for them, but he's alone without knowing that someone's up in the sky to help him."
The Espeon explained politely. "That flier is a friend of mine and has power that one would call, legendary." The king was interested in seeing such a beast for himself, but wished to focus on why the Outlands is a great concern. "There's no guarantee that anything can survive out there on their own. It is beyond the borders of the Kingdom, where those who've disregarded the Circle of Life are banished to." Phanpy grunted. "And they're not nice to anyone over there."
Simbra agreed with the elephant. "It is for that reason, it is forbidden to go out there, unless it is for an emergency. For the time being," He looked to the Exeggutor, who looks akin to a chieftain. "You and your people are permitted to use one of the waterholes for shelter, but beware of the crocodiles." Exeggutor appreciated it greatly. "That sounds familiar." "We'll let them know" "That we wouldn't be there if we had a choice."
The King advised to the band. "You better find the rest of your people here, before another predator gets the wrong idea and hurt themselves." Terra and Leon looked to their squad, getting the idea of what to do as Simba was ready to lead over to the river. "Once you find them, we can discuss more about how we're to explore those lands."
Scyther guessed one of the issues. "Going there with some of the smaller and slower ones is a sure way to throw away some lives? We need to be the strongest of the strong to last half a day?" The King looked over to the mantis, absolutely wishing to say that is the entire point, Mankey grew irritated at the statement. "Hey, most of us aren't a bunch of wimpods and magikarps!"
He jumped up and down, giving the king a reason to keep a more level mind. "We need some kind of plan. Some of you will be permitted to go there, while the rest wait in these lands. Save that anger for then."
Mankey huffed, slowed his breathing and scurried down the rocks, to get a view of where's where. Terra cringed and apologized on the monkey's behalf. "Sorry about that, Mankey's been like that ever since he joined us. Name's Terra." He pointed to the Espeon that is more than pleased of the aid. "And this is our expert, Leon."
The youngster gave his greeting. "Alola, your majesty!" He smiled wide. "This is a lot to take in. But we appreciate the help, Mankey's just wanting to help us, is all." He explained. "His species are almost always angry, he's just worried about everyone."
Terra sighed at the optimism. "That doesn't excuse it, that much anger can only lead to a bunch of mistakes that you won't be able to fix." The Espeon cringed at an agreement. "It's gets a little worse than that. If you keep him with you and help him get stronger, you might figure out how to curb it. He has as much potential as the Teddiursa and Charcadet."
The keybearer believed that as Scyther took offense. "Hey, I want in on this too. You need all you can get out there." He stood by the lion and his misfits, willing to join the merry band.
Some time later.
The herd were at the watering hole, making themselves at home while they camp. Leon, Terra and their squad stood by each other, over a circle of dirt that is made into a map. "So far so good, do you think that we should split up again and cover more with the time we have? Once Pō returns, I might start getting anxious about what we have to do over at the Outlands."
The Keybearer didn't see why they shouldn't. "With those guys by you, any of the locals will know something's going on and will keep as far away from you as possible." Pueo looked around with his hawk eyes. "So, if I was a pokemon in plain site, where would I hide. Maybe..." He saw some trees, raised rocks and a herd of antelopes that had little reason to fear. "I'd hide along with the herbivores and ask them for directions?"
That was a plan Leon was okay with. "Asking for directions, helped us so far." Teddiursa imagined that plan going well enough. "But where are we going to go?" Terra didn't spend long thinking into it. "Somewhere that would look like an obvious place to rest at." He and Teddiursa looked around as Cadet watched from a rock and pointed onward. "The biggest tree in the lands?"
The group looked to the far east, finding a thick, ancient tree the size of a great hill. Terra was left agaping as Mankey leaped in a cheer. "That can fit a whole troop!" The Cadet agreed with that. "Precisely!" He gave Terra a salute. "Permission to go, Captain?"
The keybearer nodded in approval. "That would be the first place we'd look, so it be the first place they'd look." Phanpy over heard, spotted the tree and was ready to roll out. "Great tree, great tree!" Roll! Terra and his squad followed as Scyther took to the skies. "Let's see what makes this so great."
Woosh!
Leon and his misfits were left behind for their own ordeal, the Espeon lead to the antelope herd and asked . "Just let me do the talking and we'll be done with this in a jiffy." He and his band reached the antelope herd and caught the interest of one of them, it lifted it's head and gave a whistle. "Someone's coming over!" Another took alert. "Someone's coming over!" Leon tried to keep himself and his companions as low of a threat as possible. "Alola, do you mind if we talk?"
The front row listened and relaxed. "S'up?" The Espeon blew to the air and shift his eyes side ways. "You see, we're looking for any strange looking animals that might have appeared out of nowhere... at some point yesterday. Animals or just something that looks off, like us." He presented himself and his four, one of the herd mates asked. "Like that bolt zebra that is chasing out the others?" Another asked. "Or that three headed ostrich that is over by the rocks?" "Or the glowing meerkat that is near the borders?"
Leon knew what the three might be, either a Blitzle or the more aggressive evolution, Zebstrika, a Dodrio and a Watchog. "Right, right. Those three are to be with the herd that's over at the watering hole, it's considered in everyone's interest that we migrate out of here shortly. Don't want any competing over here."
The Antelopes didn't get that one bit, but knew it was an issue, Leon put some clues together and remembered the lone zebra that Phanpy nearly ran over. "I think we'll find them shortly, thank you for the instructions." The antelopes appreciated the gratitude and let the band hurry off, heading to the used road and looking around the tall grass, the Espeon cursed some luck. "Shame we don't have any electric types available with us, this could make communicating... complicated."
The Decidueye noticed discharges in the distance and saw his partner planning. "Unless-" Leon thought. "Unless I can give those kind of flashes with that psychic power?! It wouldn't be the same, but Blitzle won't ignore it."
K'ui asked in a nervous sweat. "But won't that call Pō over?" Leon raised a paw. "It would, but he should be far away that he won't notice. Let's give it a try and hurry this along, how are you holding up in this heat?" The Crabominable breathed out frost as an answer. "I chill myself when I get sweaty." Leon was pleased by that. "Smart thinking."
He had his group keep behind as he approached the bolts and found a Blitzle, looking lonely and flashing her mane as a way to call for someone. Leon watched the electrical sparks and focused upon his forehead, giving a distinct blink, causing the Blitzle to stir with excitement and turn. She found a band not of her kind and was disappointed at first, a second blink, one akin to a hello, invited her to come close. Blitzle did so and gave a crackle, warmed by how she finally has someone to talk with. Leon focused his thoughts. "Hey, I'm sorry that you had it rough out here. Are you okay right now?"
Blitzle nodded and gave a playful step. "None of the big ones wanted to talk with me, they got scared of all the lightning." She worried. "I think they're not feeling well." Leon sighed. "I hate to say this, but they're not who you thought they were. They likely thought that lightning was going to hurt them and ran." The Blitzle pouted. "Drat, is there really no one else around here?" Leon shook his head. "I don't think there's any other Blitzle's or the Zebstrika. Other wise, one would have noticed." He asked. "We've brought a band of pokemon together at a watering hole close by, if you wait there, we can bring you to someone who can understand you a lot more and work around that. Okay?" T
he Blitzle was given a mental map from the spot to the herd. The electrified pokemon took the direction and went over before giving a half way turn and blink. "You have more to find around here?" Leon nodded. "There should be two more, a friend will be looking for the others."
The Blitzle hurried and left the band to search the plains, Mahi Mahi was particularly impressed. "You did well, boss. That felt nice." Leon blushed to that. "Sometimes, you just need someone to talk to in order to sort out your problems. So I gave her a way. Pueo, would you fly ahead and see if Dodrio is nearby?" The Decidueye grunted and flew off, having a quick scouting a few miles from the Blitzle zone, right by a collection of rocks were ostriches, some with black feathers, most with brown. Some of them were pecking, while others were keeping watch, at the edge was a brown ostrich that was standing out. Having three heads and brown necks. She had a trio of red tail feathers and each of the three heads had a dual set of black feathers, making them more aggressive looking were long pointed beaks. The central head was pecking while getting into an argument with the right head, all the while the left head was keeping asleep.
Pueo knew better than to confront a Dodrio and flew back to his squad. Landing with finesse and reporting. "Found them, they're at the edge of a flock of ground birds." The group followed an alternate route, going by the low grass, the ostrich flock walked away. They heard feminine squawking and bickering. "Come on, I saw that root!" "Find you own!" They heard pecking and had a closer look at the Dodrio, behaving typically as the sleeping head was woken up by the noise and noticed velvet in the brush.
She yawned and cawed. "Girls, something's watching us!" She shook the drowsiness away as the dominate head rose up and looked while the peckish head pecked a shrub while no one was looking. Leon gave his typical greeting. "Alola! Looks like you've settled better than some of the others." The main head squinted her eyes as the sleepy head complained. "Better? It's a struggle to fit in with all the arguing." The main head looked to her left with an assertive stare and responded. "We're doing fine, thanks." The right head finished her shrub and looked over to the Ostrich flock. "It's weird around here. What kind of Doduo has one head? Where's the fuzz?"
The Espeon sighed in ill news. "I don't think these are Doduo's. If you head over to a watering hole with some pokemon, we can get this sorted out." The main head issued a stomp. "Oh heck no! The last time we went there, some spotted cat tried to pounce us!" The drowsy head groaned. "I been up all night, I don't need this." The right head chirped in caution. "Why should we follow you?"
Leon took that as a challenge and smiled. "I'm learning my way around this place too. If you'd like, I can show that I got your back?" Dodrio's three heads grew alert at the answer. "A fight?" The left head yawned. "Yeah, that could wake us up a bit." The sleepy head chirped as the band of pokemon hurried away. "Sure! Don't think we're not going to hold back though!" The right head was eager to work out some exercise. "Alright, we'll show you why you don't want to mess with us!"
The Dodrio gave a triple battle cry as Leon readied a stunning thought, Dodrio charged as one brave bird and took a blast of a thunder wave. They tackled the boy and sent him rolling to the dirt, the youngster caught a landing, found that a new experience and looked to the bird with a stoic expression that turned into a glee for battle. He focused upon his gem and fired a beam, knocking the Dodrio back, the bird leaped after him and flung her heads for a double hit. Leon ducked and scurried to the other side to fire a psybeam blast, knocking the Dodrio to the ground and ending the match.
The three bystanders clapped in applause, with K'ui making a hearty beat with his claws. "You beaten a pokemon like a pokemon would!" Pueo landed by the Espeon and gave him a prideful embrace as Mahi Mahi grunted. "Not bad." Leon was feeling embarrassed. "Hey, hey, hey! This is just my first," He admitted as he searched his bag. "No wonder you get into that thrill." He brought out a revive for Dodrio and got her awake. "It's pretty easy to channel thought into energy for the attack. From raw psychic power, to the gem itself and the thought of stunning. But I think there's one that ought to give a shine in the darker times."
K'ui laughed from his experience with a particular move. "You're thinking of dazzling gleam, aren't ya?" Leon gave a dorky smile. "Guilty!"
Dodrio was getting up, the dominant head couldn't believe she lost to what is basically a kitten as the sleepy head was wide awake. "Nice to hear that, is there anything else that you're out here for?"
The Espeon turned to ask. "As a matter of fact, we're gathering every pokemon we can find for a migration. It's clear this place isn't meant for you all but we can use some extra peckers. If you wish to help, there's a Watchog I've been hearing about, do you know where he might be?" The right head remembered. "He got kicked out of that den last night and had to burrow close to the outskirts."
The left head was concerned. "He isn't going to last long on his own." That much, the Espeon agreed with. "A single Watchog is a weakling who doesn't even have anyone watching out for him. If you know where he ran off too, then we'll appreciate it if you can lead the way."
The three headed bird understood and lead along to what borders the Pridelands with shadowy mountains. Overshadowing a hill with a burrow that housed a lonely Watchog that was curled up resting with his seeds, shaking from over stress. The vibrations of feet had him waking up fast, bringing him on swift feet and readying to fight. "Wha- who goes there?!" He looked around fast and found Dodrio right above him, beside her was an odd band of misfits, with an Espeon giving him a strange greeting. "Alola! From what Dodrio and the others said, you're a pokemon that's wandered over here. Is this true?"
Watchog looked around frantically and admitted with loneliness. "I haven't met anyone else besides Dodrio, Blitzle and Xatu." He got on his hands and knees in a plea. "You got to have a colony or something out here, the Watchogs around here aren't nocturnal! Can you believe that?"
Leon imagined how badly that went as Pueo looked regretful to the facts. "You're also a complete stranger to their way of life. Of course it wasn't going to work. If there isn't anyone around-" He stopped, froze stiff and looked towards the border while Leon helped him finish. "Then we can all head back to some safety."
He noticed Pueo keeping quiet readying an arrow, something was coming, the band turned fast and found a pack of hyenas that realized they lost the element of surprise. The Espeon could tell by the fanged mouths and the pack behavior, what they intend to do. The youngster took a deep breath and looked over to Mahi Mahi, who stood up on his hind legs and readied his fists. The pack made way for a trio of bruised hyenas that were a bit surprised about something, K'ui stretched his arms and kept in front of the band as Mahi Mahi went slightly ahead of them. The alpha female was getting over the shock. "Well, well, that punk was right about you all scattering here. Where do you think you're going?"
Leon answered, with a his eye lids lowering in annoyance. "Just back to the watering hole. If you came here to see the obvious problem, then here it is." He sighed. "Now, would you kindly leave. You all look like you got into a club with a bunch of Crawdaunts." The alpha and one of her subordinates laughed to that, while the other was keeping silent in an observation. Alpha asked in bad humor. "Do you hear this kid?" The grouchy subordinate laughed harder. "He's acting like he's some king!"
Pueo stepped back from the Swampert, not wanting to get into technical talk. "Like that's been a help out here. What do you mean by 'that punk?'" The subordinate dismissed the question. "Like that's going to matter for ya, he was suppose to be dinner before he kicked our teeth in!"
The Decidueye spotted holes where teeth should be. "I wonder why, so... why isn't he here?" Mahi Mahi grunted and clenched his fists. "He's either sent them, or they sent themselves when he beaten them all up." Leon is hoping it's the later. "Well, we'll all be lucky that we're going to get that detail soon and not now."
The non vocal of the three hyenas realized that the feline was well presenting himself as a threat and is show casing every warning that could be given, he cringed and whined. The second in command didn't notice the details and insist. "Come on Ed, there's a whole pack of us and only six of them! And we haven't eaten anything in days!" Mahi Mahi gave a commanding bark. "Listen to him and back off!" The Alpha didn't buy into the threat. "Or what? you're going to punch the ground and smack us back to the Outlands?" Leon glowed his eyes in power. "That's precisely what he's about to do to you!" The second in command barked, through with playing. "Shut that kid up!"
It was clear that was an order order, the pack closed in swiftly. K'ui let loose a wide guard as Mahi Mahi slammed his fist to the ground, unleashing a great earthquake that ripped open the ground and sent the hyena pack flying, the non vocal of the pack expected something a lot less but just as effective and hid behind a rock to take shelter. Leon shined his forehead like it's a miniature sun and went with a dazzling gleam that kept any who had a will, put to the ground. Pueo aimed his arrow at the lone hyena that peaked his out to see the destruction as Leon closed his eyes with irritation. "You want to keep going? Only three of us did anything and you all look like you've fought a stampede" gave a stare not unlike a relative of his. "and lost! Tell the one who've beaten you up, that we'll be needing a few words with him when we get to it."
He followed that with a bark that brought a primal fear into the pack. "Now get, before a friend of ours comes back and stops you all from leaving out of here in one piece!" The two officials were getting up, not wanting to imagine the creature that would actually commit to a massacre, they and their pack smiled nervously. "Yeah... toodles!"
They took their leave in a way that is completely comedic, Leon made sure the hyenas were actually leaving before letting out his frustrations. "Unreal." He sighed. "Well, since this Xatu wasn't mentioned until now, there's a good chance Terra and his group will meet with him soon. If he's quick, then we can lay out a plan."
Dodrio's heads looked to each other in concern, the more curious of the three asked. "Did a pokemon really sent them over here to get at us?" Leon had his doubts. "A pokemon that can easily beat those savages up would have either went along with them or would have lead them from the front. It definitely wasn't the right call if he blabbered on about you all being scatter brained. Opportunists out here would see that as a free dinner." The dominate head had a vein pulse. "Scatter brained?!" The normally drowsy head wasn't denying it. "Yeah. So who's the friend you were talking about?"
Leon flicked his tail and turned back to the watering hole's route. "There's one more among us, who is flying over the Outlands as we speak. To get a survey on the lands we'll have to go to once we have everyone in announce over here. Pō is a power beyond what the lot of us can even face, so it's agreed that-"
At the route of the Big Tree.
Terra and his band appreciated the rather quiet, serene journey, if for that moment. The real ordeal, lies at the tree, which is the size of a great tower. It could prove a daunting task to climb up and Terra cursed his luck. If his hands weren't paws, climbing up would have been a mundane task. Teddiursa looked up and nearly fell on her rear. "Woah, that's big. How should we get up there." Terra thought about that and looked over to Mankey and a Scyther that was ready to pick up the three small ones. "Two of us can get up there without issues. While Mankey goes up ahead, Scyther can carry you, Phanpy and Cadet without problems." Scyther was careful with picking up Phanpy. "Yeah, yeah. But you're not wrong, most of us can be up there in a few minutes, tops."
Teddiursa had different plans and used her claws to climb, alarmingly fast for someone of her size. "Urk, thanks, but I'm good." The Cadet took that as his next challenge and climbed, nearly in danger of falling in comparison. Terra took the initiative to catch him with his back and had him hold onto the fur as he climbed, slower compared to the Teddiursa. Scyther gave a huh. "Or you can climb up by yourselves and save even more time." He held the giggling Phanpy and gave a smile to the Mankey that scurried up fast. It was less than a minute for Scyther to make his ascent, reaching there before the monkey and finding every confirmation that pokemon are in fact, up in the tree.
A black reptile with a matching skull for a head, was readying for a ritual while a local, elderly mandrill was drawing something. "Letting the past go won't be easy. But we can learn from it and make tomorrow go on and on!" By the mandrill was a strange green bird with white wings that have red and black tips, a set of red eyes bellow the neck, a simple yellow beak that is crooked downward and a two long red feathers at the back of the head. It resembles more of a totem pole than an actual bird. The bird waved his fan like wing to the right. "A future that changes like the wind!" He swung his wings left. "What will the pasts lessons bring?"
Phanpy jumped off to see that the Mandrill had paintings of particular creatures and shapes, one that caught her eye, looked like a familiar, dark gray elephant with purple platting around the trunk. "You guys know the Great Tusk?" She wandered close as the Mandrill turned with a riddle. "I know nothing of who he is, but I know of a lone heart that's lost."
Phanpy felt something heavy close by as Scyther had an awkward gasp at the fourth he didn't spot. A large, light scarlet lizard with feathers across his back. From the head, were white tipped with blue after feathers, two particular feathers were long and like a head dress. The neck were blue tipped with scarlet, he had blue scale growths on his shoulders, resembling handle bars and at the end of the back is a fan of white feathers. His throat looked to be black scale at the middle, with the sides being red in the center and the start of his tail had the rough blackness, towards the tip is a red tail with stripes of white. His four digits hands and feet were webbed, his eyes were yellow, with burning orange iris's and the pupils were black slits. He waved nervously and growled out. "We've been hoping you'd come over here. These lands find ways to whisper what has been."
The lizard looked friendly and Scyther took interest in the other drawings. A black and white beast with his arms in a cross, lording over a pack of hyenas, a great blue void surrounded by teeth and a serpent with a dark green body and a head and back of white. Mankey climbed up without much of a sweat and saw the menagerie of creatures that are in one piece, he jumped in surprised and clapped in glee. "Well, that was easy." The Mandrill ahed and wagged a finger. "How can you be so sure, when you don't even know your test?"
Mankey huhed and looked over to a psychic type bird, the bone keeper and the odd lizard. He realize it's going to take more than asking to make any of them come along. "You got to be kidding me!" He turned, in an attempt to warn Terra and the others about coming up, only to find Teddiursa was already up and is quickly distracted by the smell of fruit. Cadet jumped onto the platform as Terra was right behind him.
The keybearer phewed at the exercise. "That was easy to figure out." Mankey smacked himself in the face. "That's what I said, we just climbed into something a lot rougher." The Mandrill laughed in good humor as Teddiursa looked around and asked. "What are you talking about? These guys look friendly enough." She pointed at the bird. "A Xatu," Then the bonekeeper. "A Marowak." Then the mandrill. "An elderly local."
Then to the lizard. "A..." She stopped as Terra had a look at the group and realize the odd one among them, the bike lizard that has a great resemblance to Cyclizar. The Keybearer realized something and had a flash back of a front cover of a book that Aqua obsessed over. Terra was gaping in the mouth as the lizard introduced himself. "Koraidon, you'll remember if you learn." He chanted into a strange dance. "What has been done, cannot be undone. But when you discover it, what will you do?"
Terra looked to his companions in confusion. "I only know enough about what's going on out here. I got a lot to relearn before this bites us." Teddiursa found the fruits that were quite high up the tree and out of reach, she turned to ask. "Relearn?"
The Keybearer nodded. "Yeah. The last time I was out in a place like this, to try and prove myself. I got tricked everywhere I went and brought more harm than good. It's hard to just accept something that's true when you need to listen to yourself first." He realized what the Koraidon was talking about. "So I got to prove I learned that lesson?"
The Mandrill watched the bear look for her options to reach that fruit and asked the visitor. "And how do you know this Winged King isn't just speaking hot air? Hmm?" Teddiursa went to the Cadet and had him get ready for a leap, he used her paws as a spring to get to the fruit and yank one down. Terra smirked to an answer. "I know because a friend of mine met his other, Miraidon. He helped a friend evolve into something that will be a lot of help for him. He and Koraidon are here for a reason, but we need to figure it out."
The Cadet landed with the fruit and had it split open into something he and Teddiursa can share together. The keybearer realized what is about to happen and watched the Koraidon turn to the edge of the tree, about to jump off. Leap! Terra gave chase as his squad followed him, seeing a crystal tunnel opened up. The band jumped in without hesitation and found themselves in glimmering light.
Their vision returned and Terra found himself on the ground, his lion form was missing and he could carry a blade normally. Phanpy, Scyther and Mankey were surprised by the human and at the green colored crystal channeling a divine light at a wall. Something heavy was coming their way and Cadet braced himself. "We got an enemy ahead!"
Teddiursa squinted her eyes to find the shape to be humanoid from the ways down and from the ways up, odd. The arms looked muscular and the hands looked to have three flat fingers, the head had a set of short black hair, the ears stuck to the side with matching fur and the nose had a vertical set of twin horns. The left hand was used as a counter balance for the hand carrying a strange, axe like blade with a key like handle.
PEW!
The warrior had a gleam, showing a gray tipped, keyblade that's ax head fed down to a flat, if sharp looking edge. It resembles a cleaver more than anything and the chain looked to be heart shaped, with a mark resembling a star fish fossil. The beast man had a simple, black tunic and a belt showing a skull of a saber tusked beast. His pants were of a grassy grown skirt, yet the facial details were blinded by the light.
Terra drew upon his blade and called out the figure. "Are you here for a fight or something? Is this what the test is about?" The Beast Man flipped his blade and had it rest at his back, he gave a rather quiet, if deep voiced answer. "If we need sparing, then we can arrange!" He gave a gentle stomp and had a wide smirk. "Say when, drook!"
Terra had his partners keep to the side and took the invitation. "When!" He gave a fast dash at the Beast Man that stepped aside, tossed his blade to the other hand and grabbed the veteran before giving him a far toss. The beast man positioned his blade to the blunt end and rushed after Terra, causing the veteran to side step to the end holding the blade. The Beast Man gave a turn and jumped over a Mankey that tried a low sweep. The foe back flipped and gestured. "Try yourself against me, I know you all have that spirit in you!"
The Phanpy tossed a fast ice shard that gave a sting as the Cadet tossed a will-o-wisp and inflicted a burn, the Beast Man took a step back and cringed at the sting. Scyther found that as his chance and split into a double team before going in for a fury cutter, the Beast Man gave a parry and tossed Scyther back as Teddiursa followed with a facade punch. The Beast Man took a step back and stomped the ground, calling upon branches all around and a swarm of squirrels, evening the match as Terra thought of something. "That's it!
Cadet, give Teddiursa a will-o-wisp, she'll follow with facade if he opens up like that again." He let loose a maelstrom that blew the rodents away and rushed as the Beast Man was at the end of a summon, securing a blow before getting parried and having a cleaver swing down him. Terra side stepped and back flipped from a side swipe as Cadet applied a burn for the bear and let her charge. She jumped over a swing and gave a punch to the Beast Man's forehead.
Mankey worked himself up, charged for an ice punch and back flipped over the Scyther that gave a dual wing beat. Phanpy let loose a bull doze that took care of the rest of the squirrels and had the Beast Man fall to his rear. The foe punched the ground and quickly stood up with tapping feet, bringing about a summon of three bulls that pushed the pokemon back. He made a leap over to Phanpy and spooked her into rolling off while making a stomp that called upon mighty roots, Terra, Mankey and the Cadet had to move around the ranged assault as the Scyther illusions phased through. The Beast Man kept a close eye and was tackled by a quick attack, he gave a light punch to the Scyther and sent him back as Phanpy gave a roll at the foes foot. The Beast Man nearly tripped as his bull summons intercepted the long nose, the Cadet took the moment to toss a fire spin, trapping the foe in the vortex.
The Beast Man felt the heat and directed himself for a parry of a shadow, only to find the other side of the vortex ripple and invite Terra in. A blunt blow from the blade sent the Beast Man flying to a root, Mankey and Teddiursa kicked the bulls away in through a low kick and facade. Letting Phanpy give a roll out for the Beast Man that took the blow and caused the root to open up for him. He fell in and appeared out of a root. He flexed upward and gave a mighty. "OWRRRRR!"
He made a fast bull rush after Terra, rushing in with his horn. Terra rolled out of the way and the Beast Man turned in a skid, the keybearer gave a heal for the bear and ordered. "NOW! CLOSE COMBAT!"
Teddiursa felt her burn gone and rushed at the side of the Beast Man, committing to fast punches and kicks as the Phanpy returned for a stronger roll out. Scyther and Mankey rushed in for a fury cutter, ice punch combo as Cadet watched the Beast Man flex for something and toss a clump of a clear smog to depower him. The Beast Man raised his fists up, channeled in light and let loose a roar that sent the melee fighters back, he lowered his blade and dashed at Terra for a mighty cleave.
The Keybearer back flipped, focused and called upon stones for a rapid fire barrage, the Cadet tossed a couple of embers and pressed his hands together for a fire spin as Terra slammed his blade to the ground and caused a jagged stone to send the Beast Man flying to the air. He landed on his knees and was looking dazed, Terra phewed and signaled to his partners that the match was over.
He had a smile for the Beast Man and wanted to get him up. "Not bad, where'd you learn to fight like that?" The Beast Man shook himself and smiled wide in pride. "I fought bigger things, not as strong of pack."
His frame had a crack at the word pack. "Must find my pack." "Bring pack home." He reached for the hand as the light became more blinding. "Pack must be out there."
Glimmer, glimmer.
In a blink, Terra and his companions found themselves back in the tree, the Keybearer a lion once more. More confused about what they faced, than anything in particular. Marowak jumped in astonishment. "That was fast!"
Terra, Teddiursa and the Cadet were the first to get up as the Mandrill hollered. "Now what is this? Jumping off my tree and glittering here in a second?" Terra shook the confusion out as Mankey stood up and corrected the elder. "That was no second!" Scyther agreed with him. "That doesn't make a lick of sense."
Xatu glowed and is surprised. "You jumped into a time that was not ours!" Terra was having a head ache. "So a second out here and a few minutes in there? What was the point to that?" Phanpy waved her trunk confused. "Can't think of any."
The Cadet turned to his partners. "But we've prevailed, yet again." He turned to the Mandrill and saw something glimmer right by his feet, a worn set of dark yellow armor with matching big shoulder pads and pieces of red cloth. The Elder hmmed, looked to his side and jumped. "Now that wasn't there a second ago!"
Terra felt an explanation come to him. "Koraidon caused it to show up or something?" He focused on the more important matter and explained to the three. "We got a meeting at the Watering Hole if we can't find anyone else. Every one that wasn't here the last couple days needs to migrate out of these lands. We'll spell it out once we get there."
The Mandrill asked the Keybearer. "You and your friends got to find a place and the Outlands is no place that they'd belong." Teddiursa cringed as Phanpy had a second look at the drawings. "None of them do!" Terra had his eye on the picture of the obstructing beast. "What about this guy? He looks like he's having a good time!" Marowak tapped his bone and grunted. "Is he? Or is he trying to prove that he can survive by his own power?" He pointed at the picture. "Me and my friends, who are over at the Outlands, know of this one. Linoone took off to challenge the beasts of the Outlands and I think he became lord of it's predators."
Xatu stretched his wings to caw. "Obstagoon!" The Mandrill nodded. "Trouble's going to find him, if he believes that having power is all that matters for life." Terra agreed with that and looked to his misfits. "Want to bet he'll learn if we can take him and his hyenas down a peg?" Scyther cringed. "You're serious about going there?" Mankey had a vessel pulse. "If they come in sight of us, we'll show them who's the roughest!" The Keybearer sees that these individuals have their view on what fighting is all about. "Easy, violence isn't going to solve anything out there. It will only buy us time."
The wise elder agreed with that. "You'd gonna be needing strength out there. But do you know how to use it?" Terra nodded, remembering a lesson he learned. "By sticking with strong friends while sticking it out for yourself." He signaled to the pokemon, ready to take off. "Come on, I think we got good odds to-" He noticed one body missing, Charcadet. The armor was moving around and the trooper popped his head out, having a smile of glee. "Hee! This is the armor!"
His eyes glittered while he and the suit glowed as one. Terra flinched and asked. "Wait, is this the armor that kid was talking about?!"
The armor began to fill, Charcadet's head grew a bit, showing pointed ears and slightly longer hair. His arms and legs grew out of the armor. Scyther nodded to what he's seeing. "Yup, he's evolving."
The growing stopped and revealed an armored Charcadet in bright yellow armor. He crossed his arms and took a stance, showing eyes that were burning on fire. He closed his eyes and jumped with a fist raised. "Woo hoo! This Cadet has graduated to an Armarouge Knight!" Terra whistled at the impressive frame. "That was sooner than I thought it was going to be. Don't let it go over your head. Just because you got a power boost, doesn't mean you're automatically ready. Get to the water hole, stat!"
The Armarouge saluted with a fist to his chest. "At once, captain!" He leaped off and floated slowly as he reached the ground, Scyther picked up the Phanpy and was ready to fly down as Mankey had Teddiursa climb on his back and ready to climb down as Terra had two pokemon follow him.
High up in the sky.
Pō finished a patrol towards a Volcano and found a turtle of smoke and an orange fire dog work together to keep a pack of Jackals away, the Moltres saw it was the furthest of the Outlands and flew around to have a look at a mountain with an oddly shaped hole. He kept across the wasteland and caught sight of a Donphan with Great Tusks, sliding down a mountain and keeping guard of a tiny eagle chick. By a river to the east of the wasteland, a reflection of metal and a strange Giraffe with a round black head fought off against a small pack of lions and further south was the more interesting thing he scouted. A graveyard of bones that served as a hideout for a particular pack of hyenas.
Waiting by the entrance was an Obstagoon and a black back hyena with a face, ears, chest and belly of gray. Having bright red eyes and a mouth of teeth. A Mightyena. The Obstagoon crossed his arms with frustration and disappointment. "If those blokes come back with more teeth loose-" The Mightyena growled and barked. "You told them not to go over there and pick a fight with anymore pokemon. What gives?!"
Obstagoon growled and lowered his hands. "They wanted to eat the lot of us. They're brains are all too close to their stomachs. How am I gonna make them do what I tell them?" The fellow dark type gave a simple answer. "Feed them?" Obstagoon growled. "With what?! There's nothing here but dried bones?"
Mightyena's ear twitched and Pō kept hidden from the sight of returning Hyenas. The three leads talked among each other, a plan to save their skin. "Okay, just act natural." They tried to pretend that they didn't cause a scene and Obstagoon asked as soon as he saw them. "Ya got your butt kicked when you went into those Pridelands, didn't ya?"
The more vocal of the three tried to deny it while the laughing one gave a dimwitted nod. Obstagoon gave them a glare. "Shenzei, Benzei, Ed. All of ya's, what in the bloody rifts are ya thinking?! I told ya not to do one thing, and ya done it! When you fight one of us, you'll fight everyone and you'll end up meeting a real monster eventually."
Benzei growled at the barking badger. "Yeah, yeah. And we don't have any scraps left over here, so what are we gonna do?" Mightyena and Obstagoon growled at them together as Shenzei had the nerve to growl back. "If we can't hunt anything, then we got to get moving, there's a bunch of crazy lions out here that aren't letting us get the good stuff." Obstagoon bared his teeth and stopped to an idea. "A bunch of lions that think they're top trubbish or something?"
The alpha hyena realize what Obstagoon said and had a desperate nod to a plan. "Y...yeah. It's bad enough that we have them in charge of the Pridelands, but the ones over here make it even worse."
The obstruct pokemon smiled wide. "Someone's got to remind them that we'll all equal out here and I think Mightyena spotted a bloke that hasn't learned that lesson." He readied to take off to a dried up forest in the middle. "Follow along and I'll help ya get your brains where they belong."
The Moltres had an idea where this is going and moved his sights to the forest, where an aggressive elephant was taking his frustrations out on white, sloth like monkey. Shaking him wildly with a trunk and laughing while the monkey swiped his claws around helplessly. Mightyena arrived, horrified by the scene and snarled. "Hey, drop him! Haven't you loitered here enough?"
The elephant turned at the Mightyena, unaware of Obstagoon and the Hyenas going around for an ambush. "Or else what? You don't own these lands!" The biter bared his fangs as Obstagoon approached to the side. "He don't, but I'd say it's about time someone does!" He crossed his arms and howled. "So bring it!"
The elephant tossed the monkey aside, blew from his trunk and charged. Obstagoon leaped above the tusks, obstructed the brunt force and yelled at his ears before applying kick of facade to the elephants forehead, making him howl in pain and fall over in a knock out. The obstructer landed back as the monkey saw his savior and hurried over to him. "Thank you, thank you, thank you! I thought I was a goner!"
Mightyena snorted a smile as Obstagoon had a vein pulsing in denial. "Like I came to do that, Vigoroth" He hid a smile. "but since you got nowhere else to go, I can bring you around."
He had the sloth monkey hurry over to the fellow dark type as a pack of hyenas made themselves known. The normal type was terrified for his life, Shenzi was pretty speechless and Banzei laughed. "Ha, you brought that loser down without breaking a sweat." Ed giggled, glad that blow was aimed at someone else. Obstagoon smirked at the praise and had his fellows take off. "Yeah, he might still be breathing, but that problem will solve itself soon. Once you sort yourselves out, I got a plan to get those lions out of our hair. Meet me back at the boneyard. Capeesh?"
He took off and left the pack to close in on a soon to be dead elephant that is too unconscious to know. Pō cringed and took off, not needing to see the details, to know someone is stirring a local threat towards something planned out.
