Reflection
[The scene opens with a shot of the evening sky as the camera pans down to Napier Park. Yogi, Boo-Boo, and Cindy are walking by the fountain as Bambi and Pinocchio are sitting on it. Mulan passes by Pepe and Penelope on the stone path while Katz, and Le Quack are sat on a bench with scarfs around their necks, surveying the area around them]
[It cuts to a hill as two canine males are lying down on the grass side by side, gazing up at the sky; Blitz, the Doberman with a blue jacket, on the right, while Exile, the husky with a red jacket, is on the left]
Blitz: Haaaaaaa…it's nice and peaceful out here, isn't it?
Exile: Yeah, it's almost crazy to think we never used to get these moments.
Blitz: I suppose doing the army's work came with the transformation.
Exile: Then again, I don't remember when we would just…talk, like we do now.
Blitz: I guess we were all just following our respective roles back then…not something I look back on fondly…
Exile: Even if it was our "prime", there's still some things I wish I could have gone back and changed…
Blitz: You and me both…
Exile: …Really, though, I'm sure I sound like a broken record, but…I'm amazed that you accepted me after the way I treated you.
Blitz: I mean, you had your reasons for it.
Exile: That's no excuse, we were all brutal on you back in the day.
Blitz: Ah, yes, I remember it like it was yesterday; Hunter being the master's pet, Colleen mispronouncing my name, among other things, and you giving me that nickname.
Exile: Yeah…as if I had any right to call you weird when I had my own quirks.
Blitz: Even so…my whole thing with biting ass?
Exile: Truth be told…it was rather adorable, I just couldn't say it because I was hiding a lot.
Blitz: …I know I showed irritation at the name, but, a small part of me was…kinda into it? Maybe because it was coming from…you…I really am a "weird boy."
Exile: Nyet…it's part of your charm, besides that body.
Blitz: Oh, you mean this beauty right there?
[Blitz extends an arm to flex at the Russian canine]
Exile: Da…it's almost like we're back at base and you'd spend ages at that mirror.
Blitz: I mean, with a body like dis, how could one not admire themselves?
Exile: Yeah, you do have a point.
Blitz: Though, I'm not the only one with an impressive figure.
[Exile smirks at the German canine]
Exile: Is that so? What is the best part, you reckon?
Blitz: Must you make me choose, there's so many I could pick out, in the front and the back.
Exile: Hmmhmm, you know how to be a corny flirt, don't you?
Blitz: Weeeeeeell, it's one of the reasons you love me, isn't it?
Exile: …Well, you're not wrong there.
[The two canines chuckle before going back to silence once more as they look up at the sky…a few seconds go by as Exile looks off to the side with a rather solemn expression on his face]
Exile: …You know, sometimes I wonder if I deserved you.
[Blitz turns over to look at Exile]
Blitz: What do you mean?
Exile: I mean…we weren't exactly on the best of terms back then…
Blitz: Well…that could be said for all of us, really.
Exile: I know, but there were times where we'd clash with one another and…while everyone sort of labeled you as the team jerk, I feel like I fit the description more…
Blitz: I think it was more of the "team wimp", or whatever labeling shit was going on back then…but do you really feel that?
Exile: Well…to be fair, I was…quite mean to you.
Blitz: I was pretty hot-headed myself…
Exile: Even so, you took on more punishment than was necessary, between the name-calling and…ahem, violence, it's no wonder you were hard to talk to.
Blitz: …I just wanted to prove myself, that I was capable of leading a team, so that I could be seen as worthy of praise…and yet…luck was against me the whole time.
Exile: …You really were given the short end of the stick in that regard.
Blitz: It was almost like being held back by strings, like I couldn't get out of that zone, no matter how hard I tried…
[Blitz closes his eyes as he thinks back to his time in the original series…back when it felt like the whole world was against him at every curve and corner…he turns to his right, facing away from Exile]
Blitz: Sometimes I feel like I was made to appear worthless…as if I didn't belong there or anywhere…do you remember when we had those dreams?
Exile: Unfortunately…why?
Blitz: Well…it gave me a thought…would you all have ever gone that far?
[At that moment, Blitz feels a pair of arms wrapping around his body. He looks back to see Exile having moved closer towards him and pressing his muzzle into the Doberman's neck]
Exile: If I hadn't been so stubborn back then, I would have reached out to you…you didn't deserve being treated like dirt.
Blitz: …I thought, sometimes…you all wouldn't care if I just vanished…
Exile: The thought alone scares me…because then, I would have been without the light of my life…
Blitz: [sighs] How I wish I could have heard those words sooner…there's so many things I should have done years ago…
Exile: Well…at least we finally got somewhere in the end, didn't we? Remember that chat we had…?
Blitz: Ja…I remember a bit after that, you came into my room to check on me…and it turned into us spending the night together…
Exile: I remember you saying you'd never felt so comfortable in your whole life.
Blitz: Well, hard to say otherwise when you've got a big fluffy husky beside you.
Exile: Suppose the same goes for a smooth sleek Doberman, eh?
Blitz: Smooth and sleek, eh? OH!
Exile: Don't be too cheeky on me.
Blitz: …You just made a pun, didn't you?
Exile: You gave me an opening and I took it.
[Blitz blushes modestly]
Blitz: Oh, there you go…you're making me all flustered.
Exile: Well, it's not my fault you're so easily flattered.
Blitz: Haaaaaah…you're a jerk…
Exile: You're my jerk…
Blitz: Can I at least be given the pleasure of seeing your face?
[Exile lets up from Blitz so the Doberman is able to turn around and face the husky]
Exile: Alright, is this good enough for y-?!
[Exile is cut off as Blitz quickly goes in for a peck on his lips before drawing back with a smirk]
Exile: …You cheeky Dober.
Blitz: If there's one thing you can't deny, it's that I'm one hell of a good kisser.
Exile: Da…just as good as you are at biting tushies.
Blitz: You're never going to let that go, are you?
Exile: It's hard to miss when it was your thing for so long…and still is to an extent.
Blitz: If you did it, you'd see the appeal, especially on the more masculine ones.
[As the two are talking within hearing range, Rigby and Tails pass by and both of them raise a brow at the canines' conversation. Neither men takes notice]
Exile: You really are shameless when you speak.
Blitz: At least I've no issue acting as myself.
Exile: Honestly, commendable.
[At that moment, the two of them hear steps on the grass and look up. Behind and standing over them are Hunter and Colleen with orange and violet jackets respectively]
Hunter: Heeeeey, how's the ground treating you two?
Blitz: It was fine until I saw a golden muzzle above me.
Hunter: Oh…
[Blitz nudges Hunter's foot]
Blitz: I'm kidding, dummy.
Hunter: Aaaahahaaaa, got me with that one.
Colleen: Would you look at that, he's finally learned how to do comebacks.
Blitz: Now if only you learned how to get with someone.
Colleen: Heeeeeeh, you're lucky I've been in management because I could do some real damage otherwise.
Exile: Not to make an obvious statement or anything, but do so, and I'd freeze you.
Colleen: Hmmmmmmm…
Hunter: So, you two had any plans this evening?
Blitz: We were planning on going out to dinner; a couple's night and everything.
Hunter: Heh, I know I've said this before, but I could have never predicted you two going on something like that. I mean, as far back as the old days.
Exile: Well, sometimes life has surprises in store.
[Exile looks over at Blitz and takes his hand to stand up]
Exile: Ne tak li, dorogaya?
Blitz: Genau richtig, Liebling.
Exile: Kazhetsya, ya slyshu, kak nas zovet svezhiy steyk.
Blitz: Gehen Sie in diesem Fall voran.
[With that, Blitz and Exile head off down the hill and onto the path, while Hunter and Colleen watch on]
Colleen: [sighs] If only we could be like that…
Hunter: You mean, the two of us? Well, the offer's tempting, buuuuuut…I've got other interests in mind.
Colleen: Such as?
Hunter: Oh, you know, other things. Speaking of which, I'd best tend to those.
[On that note, Hunter dashes off in a flash, right past the Teen Titans sitting on or around a bench. Colleen sighs as she's left on her own]
Colleen: I do wish someone would give me the time of day…better keep searching, I suppose…
[As Colleen walks off, the camera pans over to Bolt and Mittens walking several feet behind her. The latter notices the Border Collie's walk and makes a face. But that's, potentially, another story for another time]
