Collective Rebirth

ESKK: Here it is the first chapter of the third season and with it the beginning of ME2. Lets get this chapter started, so enjoy the third seasons first chapter.

(Start New Altea Mid Afternoon)

One Year has passed its been one year since the second battle of the Citadel. When Lotor with his Sincline had lead his army of Alteans in an attempt to take the Citadel for himself. But thanks to the efforts of the Paladins and Citadel Council Lotor's plans were exposed his army against him and the former Galra Prince was on the run an enemy of the Citadel and the Alliance. With Lotor and Haggar still on the loose many military and law enforcements were on the lookout for them. So far there was no such luck in that regard, but the search was still on.

Thankfully the Alteans who had been deceived by Lotor were given leniency by the Council. Plus, a good word from the Alliance and the Paladins went a long way. It also helped that the Altean's cooperated with the Citadel as well. Within a year New Altea was a bustling Colony rebuilding the race from its days of yore. Though the scars left by Lotor remained for many of them. He was once viewed close to a god and now his name was spoken with taboo amongst the Alteans. The Loyalists were dealt with and Allura finally is able to fill the role she had once been brought up to fill.

More so as the last true Altean Alchemist it fell to her to teach the old ways to the Alteans who lost them. The Castle of Lions now had a growing community built around it. Building around it was the government building that Allura felt was the first thing needed followed by farmlands. The Juniberries flourished upon this colony, but Allura reminded everyone to take caution in the event the plant was not compatible with this, planets ecosystem. After a good chunk of the Government building was built Allura relegated other resources to constructing housing for the people and schools. Despite spending a year unable to fulfill her role Allura was able to jump right into it without struggle.

Using local resources also helped in the construction and having Romelle here helped Allura connect to these Alteans. Then came the other issue which were the Altean Robeasts that Haggar made for the Alteans to pilot. A lot of arguments were made about what to do with them. Some wanted them dismantled while others believed they can be repurposed for the Alteans use free of Haggar's control if any. Eventually a compromised was reached since the Batarians were still at large the Alteans were permitted to keep the mechs if only for self-defense purposes. Allura assured the Citadel that her people would not seek war upon the Galaxy and seeing as she was a Paladin of Voltron and helped save the Citadel twice already, they took her at her word.

Still, that did not stop the Salarian STG and the Council SPECTRE's from investigating the planet every once in a while. The mech armors were mainly used to help expedite the building process for the colony. In under a year, they had what they needed, homes, schools, hospitals, and even a space port on the planet. Right now, an orbital station was being built to act as their trade ports with Citadel and Alliance aid on that one. It would help keep any contrabands from entering or exiting the planet as well as act as a hub for the people.

Allura had offered a place to stay to the Quarian fleet a place to call home once more. They had refused obviously but Allura while not insisting on it provided them with a great deal of things for their use. The Quarians were grateful for this and had even considered Allura and her people a close friend. There were even Quarians who were coming to Altea as part of their pilgrimage. It was not a usual sight to see a few Quarians interacting with the Alteans. Birds of a feather fly together as the humans would often say.

Though Allura did still have responsibilities as a Paladin of Voltron and from there she had often had to leave the planet to aid the Galaxy as well. So Allura brought Romelle into her fold to be the acting leader until she returned. Allura knew Romelle the best and Romelle knew these Alteans to better lead them while Allura was away.

Luka an Altean who had been liberated from the mechs had taken up overseeing the planets defenses. She was an excellent pilot and filled the role quiet well. Plus, Alenko was a huge help to Luka in understanding military aspects as Kalvin helped her as well in leading these warriors. Coran now stays most of the time on the Citadel with his assistant Merla as they now run the Altean Emissary on the Citadel. Coran acted as the Alteans Ambassador on the Citadel and while he took pride in his work Allura knew Coran was cursing Allura for giving him this role.

It made sense for Coran to be the representative because like Allura he came from the Altea that had been destroyed by the Galra and the Reapers. Being the oldest of the old time made him fit for the role... plus Allura didn't want him getting hurt by something. Then again, the Krogan Coran had befriended would probably not let anything happen to Coran either.

Speaking of the Krogan Wrex had been hard at work uniting his people. His victory in Virmire as well as his victory against Lotor had put Wrex in a position to force change amongst his people. While Allura herself had her objections to the method Allura also knew the Krogans were stubborn to a fault. There was one benefit the Alteans had formed something of a friendship with the Krogans at least the Krogans under Wrex's command. Wrex was always looking out for his people, but he also looked out for his friends like Allura. Allura would at times find herself accompanied by a Krogan bodyguard whenever she could visit Wrex or Wrex would come visit. New Altea became something of a second home to the Krogans and with the Alteans, Krogan, and Quarians in such a friendly union Allura was glad to have such allies for her people.

Then came the issue of Oriande. Allura knew Haggar can now make wormholes like she can and that put Oriande in danger. It was no secret to Allura that Haggar had acquired access to Oriande, and it would likely be the place she and Lotor were hiding out at. Forced to reveal its existence the Alliance and Council found a way to form a blockade around the White Hole Oriande was located in. Any Altean approaching would have to go through a major check before making the rest of the journey. It was not perfect, but Allura did not want to give Haggar or Lotor any room to use Oriande for nefarious means. So far Allura can safely say that at least one Altean had made the journey and had confirmed that Lotor and Haggar were not on Oriande.

While that was a good thing it also did not fill Allura with much confidence. This simply meant that Lotor and Haggar could be anywhere at this point. Plus, for all she knew Haggar and Lotor could have could have hidden elsewhere on Oriande and the Altean who reported it simply missed them.

The Paladins had also more or less made Altea their permanent residence. Penny and Hector had been working to aid the Alteans in the tech department, but Hector was moving towards food service which was more his style. Leon surprisingly enough was providing aid in the farmlands of the colony helping the Alteans with crops and introducing new crops for the Alteans to utilize. The group can still recall walking upon Leon using the fruit of the Juniberry's to make wine. The tune the Altean girls were singing had a nice ring to it. Penny still accused Leon of ripping the tune off from an earth cartoon... something about a farm in another world.

Kalvin had been moved towards N7 training thanks to Anderson pulling strings. As the leader of Voltron, it was argued he needed the best training and N7 training was the response. Thanks to this Kalvin was given the best training that humanities military had to offer. When he came back to New Altea Kalvin was a fully recognized N7 like his father before him. Allura smiled as she looked out the window towards New Altea seeing that her people would once more flourish.

Allura was currently in her study as she took in the scenes before her. She was saddened that this was not the Altea she grew up upon, but she was grateful that the spirit of her people lived on. Though the fun story was that Allura had not even been given a coronation as Coran had often argued that it was tradition and what not. Trying to find the time for it was becoming a task in of itself. They needed to prepare for the Reapers that the Council was purposely ignoring. Anderson was the only one who was willing to speak up about the Reapers.

Speaking of the Council Tevos had offered a spot for the council for the Alteans, but Allura turned it down. She stated that at the moment her people needed time to rebuild. Tevos was understanding but promised to try and keep the spot open when Allura's people were ready. Since it was offered in private, they avoided any political issues on it.

Anyway, a coronation was not on the table right now. Yes, the Alteans recognized Allura as their leader, but they were still getting their first steps into the Galaxy again. Very few Alteans were leaving New Altea at the moment and as it stands Allura wanted for these people to continue to build before the Reapers showed up. Coran argued a good argument a Princess is well and good... but a Queen would be needed when the Reaper invasion arrives.

Just then a beep came from her door and leaving the balcony Allura entered her office/study. Yes, Allura never thought she'd have such a place it reminded her of the one her father used to have before the Galra destroyed Altea. "Enter." Allura said as soon the door opened revealing Romelle. Romelle had changed since Kalvin, Kasumi, and the Council SPECTRE Tela Vasir had liberated her from Lotor's colony. Though if Allura had to be honest it was a glorified farm for Lotor to harvest Quintessence from her people. Her old outfit was replaced with something befitting the role of Allura's aid and stand in when she was busy.

Seeing that Romelle was here Allura got down to it. "Ah Romelle what can I do for you this morning?" Allura asked as she smiled at her friend.

"Well, some of the Alteans have been making requests for a few things." Romelle said as she gave Allura the data pad with the requests. "Luke is asking for some more equipment apparently some of the recruits got into a tussle with a Krogan." Romelle began listing off the requests. "The Quarian District need some more antibiotics after last week's incident." Romelle went on as Allura read through the requests. "Oh, and word from the farmlands came in. They're requesting an increase in budget to construct fishing facilities." Romelle said as that last one was still new. The farmers had found that the fish were edible and most of all were in abundance.

"Anything else?" Allura asked as she put the data pad down to start going through them. Allura was putting her training as a leader to the people to use at long last.

"Just one, Coran is asking when the coronation will happen." Romelle said as she knew how Allura felt about that.

"Again?" Allura sighed as she knew why he brought it up. "I know he cares but now is not the time." Allura said as she knew that rebuilding and the preparations for the Repear's took priority. "I don't wish to force this not in this delicate time." Allura said as she wanted what was best for her people, but she also wanted to regain what had been lost centuries ago.

"Maybe you should consider it?" Romelle offered as she looked to Allura. "I know everyone looks to me whenever you're gone because they know me, but you've earned their trust you liberated them from basically being cattle for Lotor to slaughter for our Quintessence." Romelle said as she looked to Allura. "And while I can lead for a brief time you have the skills and training that I don't." Romelle said as she did not want to lead.

Allura sighed as this had been happening a lot lately. The people around her telling her to take the crown and lead her people as she had been brought up for. But Allura knew that this was not the time for crowns and such. "Romelle I'll look over these requests and put priority based on the needs being asked." Allura said and with a nod Romelle sighed and left Allura to her own devices.

Once alone Allura sighed and put the data pad down before walking over to her father's broadsword that was on display. "Father what should I do?" Allura asked as she wasn't sure she was ready to ascend the throne or if there even was a throne for her to ascend too. Maybe Tali or her father might be able to offer some advice to Allura seeing as the Quarian Flotilla was due for its regular arrival. Anderson would also be of aid, but she knew he was busy as is and didn't wish to trouble him with her own issues.

(The castle of lions)

Within the castle of lions Kalvin was putting final touches in a special room that he and Allura had put together. It was a room made for those who passed away and will be remembered as heroes as they call it "The Hall of Fallen Heroes" as Kalvin himself was putting in a plaque below an image frame of Sven the Original Blue paladin, showing his school uniform while he was at the Academy, as after plaque was installed, Kalvin step back and activate a platform that show a hologram image of Sven in his paladin's gear.

Kalvin smile to this as he looks at the work he has done, then look to the other areas as there are some hologram image while there are photo images. With Kalvin was Cosmo fully grown and fully trained from his time with the Alliance K9 Unit. It was a unique experience to train a space wolf for the trainers.

There was more holograms mostly as they didn't have photos of everyone, but Allura use a machine to record and project her memories, mostly the memories of the original Paladins of Voltron, and use them to make hologram images of them, including of Zarkon himself.

Allura was a bit hesitant to put Zarkon in as well, but it was he who saved Allura's life using the remaining Quintessence energy that was within his body to power the castle for 50 thousands years, keep Allura alive for the next cycle.

The next hologram image that Kalvin was looking is one of his father, John Shepard in his N7 armor who had died two years ago showing how he was before his death, as Kalvin still misses him, but keep his memory alive still with this.

Next was more of a pillar platform with a small hologram image of a Galra drone that Penny had used to give an A.I named Rover a somewhat of a body to use, as he may have not been with the crew as long, but he was still important as he gave his life to destroy Saren's facility and save everyone, as Penny was very happy that Kalvin and Allura had included the A.I into the hall of the fallen heroes

Soon enough Kalvin came to the Last hologram image of a young Altean boy who was Bandor, Romelle little brother who had given his life to save his people and reveal Lotor's evil deeds, he wasn't a known hero to many but his people, as with his actions and bravery he was a true hero to be remembered by, and it was the least he and Allura can do for Romelle who had help them as well.

"Commander Shepard, there's a call for you from Captain Anderson, he says its urgent," Shiala called out to him over the coms as Kalvin said, "Alright I'll take it in the coms room."

"Very well," Shiala said as Kalvin soon headed to the Com room, another area in the castle that was constructed for Kalvin and Allura to talk with either the Citadel council or high rank officers of the Alliance if needed as Kalvin soon arrived Anderson appear on a hologram as he said to Kalvin, "Commander Shepard, good to see you, my boy."

"Good to see you as well Captain, has something happen?" Kalvin question as Anderson nodded as he said, "I'm speaking to you on a secure line so listen closely."

"I'm all ears," Kalvin said as the Captain soon give a report as he told Kalvin, "A few hours ago, an Alliance patrol squad who was investigating an emergency signal of a ship that went missing years ago and was attacked by thresher maw, as I'm sure you know what this means."

"A Cerberus trap, their calling card in a way, as they set up beacon to draw in people as a mean to get rid of those who may have stuck their noses where they should belong," Kalvin said as he aware of this as he read his father's pass mission reports during the time they were hunting Saren, as this is where he had first discover Cerberus and their bases as Anderson said, "Lucky the patrol survived with a lot of wounded soldiers, before they encounter the Thresher Maw, they have discover an old base that belong to Cerberus and may have trigger the beacon to activate and headed out to investigate."

"Do they know what sort of base it was?" Kalvin question as Anderson shake his head no to this while he said, "Negative, there were gun turrets all around that they could not get in closer, but they have trigger are sensor which cause the beacon to be active, causing them to investigate it."

"I see," Kalvin said as Anderson went on saying, "I need you and the other paladin to go and investigate it, see what Cerberus has been up too as of late."

"Understood Captain, we'll check it out right away," Kalvin said as Captain nodded and said, "I have sent the coordinates where to go. Good luck Shepard and be safe."

With that the call ended as Kalvin soon left the room with Shiala was waiting for him by the door as she ask, "Should I call in the paladin Commander?"

"No, I'll do it myself, been a while sense I took a walk, prep crew and the castle to launch until I return," Kalvin said as Shiala nodded and headed off to the command deck while Kalvin headed out to pay Allura a visit.

(Allura's office)

Wit Allura going over budget of equipment and money for new Atlea as a knock came at the door as she sighed and said, "Romelle, I've told you no interruption."

"I think this is one interruption you may enjoy," Kalvin voice spoken through the door as Allura stood up and smile knowing it was Kalvin at the door as she got up and said, "Oh come on in, Kal."

Soon enough the door open and Kalvin walks in as he greeted Allura as he said, "Hey Allura."

Allura came up to him as she hug him which he return before they lean into each other and give each other a kiss, as it seem their relationship was stronger than ever after Kalvin told Allura about his lineage as they let off the kiss before they step back from each other and straighten themselves out a bit as Allura clear her throat and said, "So what has brought you here Commander Shepard?"

"Anderson called, and need to paladin to investigate a recently found Cerberus base that was well fortified it seem," Kalvin said as Allura was a bit surprise by this and said, "Understood but... why didn't you call instead?"

"Well… I missed you and wanted to see you in person, and figure this would be the best time to do so," Kalvin said as Allura smile to this as she nodded as Kalvin also said, "I also need help gathering the others, as they turn off their omni tool."

"Of course, it was supposed to be their time off, but I suppose they had enough time off as is," Allura said as Kalvin nodded as he said, "I think I know where Leon and Hector are at, Penny on the other hand is always all over the place."

"I think I know where to look for her, you gather the boys and I'll get Penny and we'll meet up at the castle," Allura said as Kalvin said, "Got it."

(With Leon in the fields)

Leon had changed some since his training with the Salarian STG. His gunslinging had improved and he might have gotten a little smarter in that time away. His hair style had changed some that it was now pulled into a small tail. While in his work outfit he showed to have gotten a few tattoos from his time with the Salarians, just something to remember his time training with their special forces.

"Alright now, does everyone remember the rhythm? The perfect way to get the perfect wine is getting in the rhythm now follow my lead," Leon said as he was at the wine farm area with a violin in hand as he look to the Altean girls and some Asari as well, as it seem they were looking for some work as they are trying to avoid the dancing bars with Leon get it as so many guys would hit on dangers trying to get Asari's to sleep with them, it where he found the Asari.

When their shift was done, and try to leave, some drunk dumbasses try to hit them up, and got a little too physical with the Asari dancers too which Leon step in, took care of those guys, and pretty much has security take them away, as being a Paladin did have some advantage to this, and after word he spoke with them heard their story and offer them a job on new Altea as clearly they didn't like the dancing bars anymore as if guys are gonna be hitting on them, they might as well quit which they did and took up Leon offer and introduce them to all sorts of jobs they could take and some just took up the wine making as they could dance while making wine while also getting to know Altean culture as well, with Leon said, "Here we go as 1, 2, 3!"

At that moment Leon started to play the violin like a pro as before he went to the Academy his mother wanted him to take up Violin lessons and it seem they paid off as he play with someone play a flute as well, then all the girls nodded their heads and started to sign before they started moving.

As the girls move while singing, everyone was having a good time with the pulp of the Juniberries flowing out into wooden barrels as Leon said, "Looking good girls, let's keep it up."

Riding up in a black hover car specially made for Kalvin as he arrived at the farm area and drive up where Leon was at as he sees him doing his thing as saw how things were going as the girls were enjoying themselves, no doubt Leon's way of the Gentleman.

He waited a bit to Let Leon finish playing his song as he put a good ending to the song as he strum the violin with the girls cheering out to this as they have filled at least 5 barrels of crush Juniberries with other girls were soon adding in some water, sugar, and yeast into the mix, stir it up and cap it as Leon said, "Good everyone, very good now let clean up, take a break afterword and pick this up around within an hour."

"I think you might be late for the next one Leon," Kalvin said as Leon was a bit surprise but turn and smile to see his best friend as he call out, "Hey Kal! What up bro?"

"Doing alright, you?" Kalvin question as Leon turn to the girls with a smile as he said, "Not bad for me, we're making like 20 barrels a day doing this, and the pay isn't so bad either, the Juniberries seem to be a whole lot better than grapes of making wine from."

"Not to mention the group of girls you're working with?" Kalvin pointed it out as if Leon were making a secret harem as he said, "Hey ladies can be hard workers as well, and also I did try to hire some dudes, but most of them turn out to only came for the girls or expect to get free booze out of this, for those who does want to work are working in the storage warehouse."

"Alright, I'll take your word for it then," Kalvin said as Leon look over to Kalvin's new ride and said, "So where did you get the sweet ride, the military finally pay out?"

"No, I just found an older model that was cheap and had Penny and Hector retro fit with some newer stuff," Kalvin said as Leon nodded and said, "Cool, I still prefer my ride, as we found the red lion with that car, you know."

"Yeah, I remember, we drive out in the middle of nowhere to a camping adventure while Penny was testing out her device, how is Scarlet flare doing now a days?"

"In my garage and update her with a new engine as the old one was craping out," Leon said as Kalvin nodded as Leon went on saying as he ask, "So, what bring you out here, as it not for chit chat?"

"Nope, we got a mission Anderson calling in the paladin to check out a newly discover Cerberus base, heavy guns and maybe some traps with mawers," Kalvin said as Leon smile to this as he said, "Finally, I've been itching to get back out there."

"Let move, we still need to pick up Hector," Kalvin said as Leon nodded and follow Kalvin out of his car and said, "Alright then, but does Hector work at that one place still?"

(with Hector the food pavilion)

"Do you know what I am looking at here?" Hector said as he sounding very angry for some reason as he held up a good-looking plate of food. The Paladin was currently standing in front of a Krogan wearing a white apron as he look at the food and said, "Ahh a steak with a side of greens."

"No, it's a ruin steak with a side of green!" Hector said as he dump the food into the trash as he mouth off the Krogan saying, "The customer ask for a medium rare steak, not well done. You over cooked it!"

"But I thought it was Medium well steak," The Krogan said as Hector then points at him and said, "Did you even read the order?"

"Well, no but…" the Krogan said as Hector suddenly cuts the Krogan off while he was trying to explain himself and said, "You didn't read the order! That a problem, as if you don't read the order, then you're an idiot, correct?"

Normally it was suicidal to yell at a Krogan but for Hector bad food is worth risking death to give the cause a piece of his mind. "Well, I suppose so," The Krogan said as he sounding very scared of Hector as he suddenly pull out two slice of bread and said, "So if put two slice of bread at the sides of your head what does that make you? what are you?!"

"An… Idiot sandwich?" the Krogan said as he Hector said, "That right, now go into the back, and make the order right! And take your idiot sandwich head with you!"

After that, the Krogan held the bread as he rushed back into the kitchen. Hector then turn towards the table that he was serving food too and said to the surprised customers, "Sorry about that, we'll have your order fix and ready for you, and get a 50% discount on me for the troubles."

"Hector!" Kalvin called suddenly and in turn Hector looked and saw Kalvin there with Leon.

"Kal, Leon!" Hector greeted with a smile as he hugged his friend.

"Hey buddy, you know its suicidal to yell at a Krogan right?" Leon asked having seen Leon go off on the Krogan for making bad food.

"Well, they respond better to that, plus undercooked food is not ok!" Hector added the last one towards the Krogan who shied away. "So, what brings you guys here?" Hector asked curious as to why his friends were here.

"We got a job; Cerberus and we need you." Kalvin said and thus Hector was on it.

"Right, Seila you're in charge!" Hector called to the Asari who nodded and returned to work. "Let's go!" Hector said as he followed Hector and Leon to the car outside.

(Meanwhile over with Penny)

Penny was under a ship as nearby was a set of tools. By the sound of sparks and welding it was clear that she was doing some work. As Penny did her work, she felt someone tap her leg to get her attention. "If you're looking for a tool, I'm using it." Penny said only for the tap to get her again. Rolling her eyes Penny finished up the panel and rolled out of her spot. When she did, she was wide eyed when she saw Allura standing there.

"Hello Penny." Allura greeted with a smirk on her face.

"Allura!" Penny gasped as she got up and began to dust herself off. "Sorry I was focused on fixing up this power convertor." Penny said pointing her thumb to the machine. "Someone has to do it with most of the Quarians either busy or off world." Penny said causing Allura to chuckle.

"Well, you may need to postpone your work, we have work to do." Allura revealed which did not take long for Penny to figure out what Allura meant.

"Paladin work?" Penny asked with a raise brow.

"Yeah." Allura said and thus she got up.

"Let me close up here and then we can head to the Castle." Penny said and thus Allura nodded.

"Hurry up we have to work fast." Allura said which Penny smiled while putting her tools away.

"Right." Penny said while prepping to leave with Allura for the mission.

(Scene Break Castle of Lions)

After gathering everyone the group entered the Castle of Lions preparing to launch. The crew changes several times already as now it was mostly comprised of Alteans. The Paladins took their seats as Allura arrived at the Teleduv position activating it. After the battle with the Sincline the Castle of Lions had been repaired and upgraded as it and a few other ships had acted as an ark for the Alteans.

Romelle was left in charge while Allura and the others went to deal with whatever Cerberus was doing. They had not heard from Cerberus for a while, so it came as a surprise that they were active and this close to the colony.

With Coran the Altean Representative on the Citadel Shiala had taken Coran's position on the Castle of Lions. "Begin launch sequence." Allura said as she got ready to launch. The Paladins were in their designated launch positions with a random Altean taking the Blue Paladins seat. Meanwhile next to Kalvin was Cosmo the space wolf he had befriended a year ago fully grown as he watched the launch from his handlers side.

"Of course." Shiala said as she activated the Castle of Lions. "Activate Interlocks. Dynatherms Connected. Infercells up. Megathrusters are Go." Shiala said as she typed away on the console ready to deploy. All the while the Caste of Lions began to hum to life as the engines prepared to launch.

"Ignition." Allura said and in turn it began the Castle of Lions flew towards the sky as it broke through the atmosphere into space. The castle made its way skyward as every Altean and ally saw it deploy. Flying into the sky the Castle of Lions broke sky and made it into space where Allura prepared to open the wormhole. Once the Wormhole was opened the Castle of Lions flew in and made the journey to the signals source.

(Scene Break Artemis Tau)

The Castle of Lions arrived over an uncharted planet in Artemus Tau which was the source of the signal. "Beginning a planetary scan for the signal source." Penny said as she was already working. "Source found sending coordinates now." Penny said showing she had improved a great deal in all this time.

"Alright then let's move out." Kalvin said and thus the Paladins all stood up for what came next. "Let's find this thing, take it out, and burn down the Cerberus base." Kalvin said and in turn they got moving.

Four doors activated color coded with red, yellow, blue, or green. Leon stepped into the red door, Hector into the yellow door, Allura into the blue door, and Penny into the green door. From there the four Paladins stepped into lifts that began to lower them downwards.

Kalvin on the other hand stood around the Black Paladins chair on the control deck revealing it had its own lift exclusive for him that began to lower. Once all the Paladins got to the bottom, they were met with handlebars for ziplines that they jumped and used to travel down a tunnel. Once they got to the end of the tunnels, they flung themselves down a slide like tube and landed inside hover pods and began to ride towards their individual lions.

Travelling a short path, the pods arrived at another lift that began to lift them up towards their lions. The pods were loaded into the lions and from there each of the Paladins went to the cockpits and activate their individual lions. The Lions eyes flashed to life before they each let out a mighty roar showing they were ready for battle.

One by one the lions launched with red, yellow, blue, and green launching from the four pillars of the Castle while the black lion launched from the main tower. The Voltron Lions flew down to the planet bellow to attempt to locate the Thresher Maw and the Cerberus base.

(Later on, the Uncharted Planet)

Arriving on the planet's surface the Lions deactivated their thrusters and began to run through the terrains to locate the Thresher Maw. "Penny, we need directions!" Kalvin called out as they kept running.

"The signal 50 clicks due west." Penny said confirming where the signal can be found.

"Alright Paladins let's move!" Kalvin called out and thus with increased speed the Paladins kept moving towards their destination.

"Right!" They responded and thus continued to run to where they needed to go.

(Later at the signal source)

The Lions moved towards the signal source and soon enough found dead bodies at the sight as well as a damaged Mako. Despite being unable to move it was clear that with the right parts it could be running as good as new. "Alright where here, now where is the Thresher Maw?" Leon asked looking for the Thresher Maw wherever it was hiding.

Just then the ground nearby broke and from there the Thresher Maw shot out of the sand. It roared out at the lions who saw it and knew to act. "Paladin's scatter!" Kalvin called out and in turn the Lions scatter. In doing so they dodged the Thresher Maw's attack and once the Lions landed, they roared at the beast before surrounding their prey.

"I got a scan on the thing, no modifications detected on it." Penny said as this time the creature was not a crime against nature.

"So, a basic none augmented Thresher Maw too easy." Leon boasted with a cocky smirk on his face.

"Don't get cocky Leon that normally gets your ass in trouble." Kalvin said reminding Leon to be careful. "Surround and keep moving it can't hit all of us at once." Kalvin said as he already had a plan of attack. In turn the Lions began their attack as they opened fire on the Thresher Maw. The Threshermaw roared in fury as it began to fight back against the Paladins of Voltron. The creature dove back under ground and began surging through the ground.

"Hector go after it!" Kalvin called as Hector bemoaned this.

"Why me?" Hector asked not wanting to go down there.

"Because you're the only Lion who can move through the ground like its water." Penny countered as Hector cried a bit before diving down into the ground to hunt the Threshermaw. The Paladins waited for a bit as they knew Hector would find the creature. It didn't take long as soon enough the Threshermaw emerged but with the Yellow Lion biding down on it. It roared in pain as it tried to force the lion off its body but to no avail.

"While its distracted hit it!" Kalvin called out and thus they got to work.

Penny roared as she activated the plan gun of her Lion. In doing so the Threshermaw soon found itself covered in vines. Following this up was the black lion and the blue lion as they flew in with their maw blades slicing into the Threshermaw. The yellow lion soon let go after tearing out a bit of flesh from the threshermaw. It roared in pain from this leaving itself open for the final attack.

The Red Lion flew in and got to its open mouth and began firing its heat beam down its throat. The creatures innards were aflame as it burned from the inside out. It thrashed and roared but the deed was already done. So, with the lions regrouping they saw that Thresher Maw eventually fall over smoke coming out from its dead corpse as it continued to burn.

"Well, that settles that." Hector said with a smile on his face.

"Alright lets shut down that beacon and find the Cerberus base." Kalvin said as he glared about.

"It can't be too far from our position." Kalvin said knowing full well that Cerberus had done stuff like this before.

"Already on it." Penny said as she had gotten a scan of the area in her attempt to locate the Cerberus base. "Found it, just give me a bit to turn the Beacon off and." Penny began only for the red lion to slam its tail down on it destroying it.

"Ok beacons destroyed." Leon said as Penny glared at Leon for brute forcing it. "What its off." Leon said defensively over what he did.

"Let's just go." Penny said and thus the Lions got moving to where the Cerberus base will be found.

(Scene Break Later)

The Paladins eventually arrived at the Cerberus base and once there they disembarked from their lions. Moving through the Paladins had their guns and/or Bayards out ready for anything. The base seemed deserted as they explored the facility. In fact, there was hardly any movement not even from a lab rat.

"Looks like they may have bugged out." Leon said as he kept his guard up.

"Think they knew we were coming?" Hector asked curious as to what was going on.

"No this is something else." Kalvin said as Penny and Allura both agreed. Just then something happened as soon enough Androids came out targeting the Paladins.

"We got company!" Penny cried out and thus they had to act.

"Get to cover!" Kalvin called out and in turn a fire fight began. This allowed for the Paladins to put their training to good use as they fought the robots. Penny had learned a great deal from the Asari commando's on Thessia mainly in terms of her Biotics. So, using said Biotics had become second nature for Penny as she used it to force the androids to stay still. Leon followed this up with his Bayard firing at the drones taking them out before they could be dropped.

Just then quadrupedal drones charged at them and in response Leon turned his Bayard into its broadsword and sliced through them. More came up as then Hector moved with his Bayard and began to dust through them taking them out with his Bayard as the minigun. A few more came out but Kalvin and Allura were the ones to act as they sliced and cleaved through them with their Bayards ending them quickly.

Several more androids showed up, but Kalvin smirked over what came next. "Cosmo sick'em." Kalvin said and leaving from cover Cosmo showed up snarling before he went on the attack. He teleported towards the androids and bit into its arm tearing it off. Cosmos then teleported again and tore out the neck of another defense mech. Cosmo did this several times using the full use of his powers to protect Kalvin.

Eventually the fight came to an end and when it did the group calmed down. Cosmo was sitting atop several drones he took out glaring and awaiting Kalvin's next order. "Clear." Kalvin called out and thus they continued through the base in order to get the data they had.

(Later))

The Paladins eventually arrived at a room with empty pods yet oddly enough the room felt chilly. "Well cold snap anyone?" Leon asked as they walked through.

"I think this is a cryogenic lab." Penny said as they moved through the lab.

"If that is the case why are the pods empty?" Allura said and thus the group saw the empty pods.

"No clue, but let's split up and look around." Kalvin said and in turn continued their search after splitting up.

Penny was by herself as she looked through the base making sure that her movement was quiet and careful. OF course, her search turned up with no results through the room. At least until she came upon one active Cryogenic pod. Looking at it Penny noted the frost on the front of it and according to the console it still had life in it. She then wiped off the frost from it and when she did her eyes were wide eyed at who she saw.

(Kalvin and Allura)

Kalvin and Allura were looking around as they found the data console and began to access it. Using their Omnitool they began downloading the files so they can decrypt it later. But just as they did so Penny was heard screaming nearby causing the duo to panic.

"Penny!" Kalvin and Allura cried out and ran over to where Penny was.

Upon arriving the group arrived and saw Penny with her hand over her mouth as she looked ready to cry. "Penny what happened?" Allura asked as soon enough Leon and Hector arrived.

"We heard screaming what you found, Penny?" Leon asked and in turn Penny only used her free hand to point to the pod she was looking at. When the other Paladins looked to it and when they did all eyes were widened. "No way." Leon said as he saw who was inside the pod.

"Is that... no it can't be." Hector babbled as he was wide eyed over what he was seeing.

"Sven!?" Kalvin asked as inside the pod was the sleeping form of the original Blue Lion Paladin, Sven but his right arm was replaced by a prosthetic. "We need to get him out of here now!" Kalvin called out and thus without questioning it they began to work on getting Sven out. Penny was the first to act accessing the panel and beginning the defrosting process. Once it went through the pod opened up and from it steam came out before Sven moaned and fell out. The group caught him as Sven was clearly out of it as he looked to the group before passing out again. Kalvin noted a scar on his forehead but that can be looked at later, first they had to get him out of here. Unaware to them a camera was watching their every move.

(Meanwhile with The Illusive Man)

The Illusive Man smirked as he saw what the Paladins found. Everything was going as it should and with both Shepards in play again they can finally stop the Collectors and the Reapers to secure humankinds' future.
